This document summarizes the creative process of editing a film poster using Photoshop and InDesign. It explains how Photoshop was used to sharpen the model's eye and lips to create a more dramatic and sinister image. It then describes how InDesign allowed the creator to organize elements into layers, position the title and credits, insert graphics, and manipulate fonts. Overall, the tools in Photoshop and InDesign gave the creator opportunities to be imaginative and produce an authentic-looking film poster.

4. This is a before & after edits picture. As you can see,
with Photoshop, I was able to create a more dramatic
and sinister looking image. With the sharpen tool on
Adobe Photoshop, I was able to sharpen the model’s
eye to give prominence to the direct look and use this
tool sharpen her lips. These resulted in an image that
catches your attention and lips that appear more
reddish, ‘bloodier’, which matched our dark and
mysterious theme that we wanted to go for, as well as
our title ‘Red’.

I then inserted this image into InDesign. This editing program has
given me many opportunities to be imaginative and create an
authentic looking film poster.
• It allowed me to use and create layers to organise each object e.g.
title, credits, logo etc. and the way I wanted to position them.
• I also selected a specific font style for the title (Franklin Gothic)
and manipulate it by making font adjustments, such as by
spacing it out, changing its colour to red and aligning it to be
centred.
• With InDesign I could insert graphics, such as the BFI Film
Festival Logo, which made it more obvious that our film poster is
for a ‘shorts’.

5. I created the reviews article with only one editing software, which is Adobe InDesign. Below are the steps
that I went through to produce the final article and what this program enabled me to do and be creative.

Columns for the
article:
1. Creating layers and
organising objects, columns,
inserting graphics and text,
making font adjustments e.g.
making text bold etc.
3. Create a colour scheme
for the reviews article to
suit our other ancillary text
and main product, adding
effects to the image,
including a basic feather.
4. Adding a drop cap in the
first paragraph and inserting
& creating my own
symbols/patterns and
designs to our reviews
article.
