I used Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word to write up all of my research and some of the planning. I also used Excel to construct graphs from my audience research to make it clearer and easier to understand. The Internet and more specifically Google assisted me in researching different types of magazines and their layouts. I also went on the NME and Metal Hammer websites to get an idea as to what kind of article to write and also the photographs that they use as I was unsure of what poses or locations to use. I used dafont.com to get ideas of which type of font I would like to use and how it would suit my genre. YouTube videos helped to teach me how to use InDesign and Microsoft Publisher when I was producing WHO magazine. I used a digital SLR camera to take the photographs as they would be better quality and I would be able to have more control over the camera and find a better depth of field which I wanted in the images because it would create a more central focus and attract more attention to the artist rather than the unnecessary detail in the background. Later, I used Photoshop to edit my images where I learnt to use tools such as vibrancy, contrast and levels. I think that the contrast tool improved my images greatly because they were quite dark before and it helped to create depth within my photographs. After editing them on Photoshop, I used Microsoft Publisher and InDesign to actually produce my magazine because I wanted it to be as high a quality as possible. <br />
