The document evaluates the cover and content pages of a college magazine. For the cover page, the student used Photoshop to include conventions like a main image with direct eye contact, a plain background without distractions, price and barcode at the bottom, and cover lines describing featured content. Strengths are that Photoshop is easy to use, but weaknesses include lack of experience leading to unclear images. For the content page, the student used Quark to include subheadings, descriptions, prominent images, and clear text layout. While Quark allows various techniques, it is difficult to use for those without experience, like the student. Overall experience using the design software could be improved.

2. My front cover uses forms and conventions of a real media product
because it shows all the different conventions a real magazine cover.
Firstly it has a main image (medium close-up) which is direct eye
contact to help attract my target audience. Secondly it has a plain and
simple background which doesn’t distract the audience from the main
image. Price and barcode are at the bottom on the front cover. And
lastly cover lines which tells the audience what's going to be featured in
my magazine.
I used Photoshop to help create everything in my front cover.
Photoshop was used to put all cover lines, title, boarders and main
image by using all editing techniques given in Photoshop.
The strengths of using Photoshop is that its easy to do and there's no messing about on other
websites. Another strength is that my front cover shows all the codes and conventions of a
media magazine front cover. The weakness’ is that if you haven’t used Photoshop before it can
take a little longer to understand and use all the techniques you’d need. Another weakness is
that that my main image could be clearer if I used a camera I know and confident in using to get
my image brighter and more clear.

3. My content page uses the forms and conventions of a real product
because it uses conventions such as, subheadings to outline the
important information with a small description to describe what's in
it. My biggest image shows importance and creates attraction over
the main story. I've also used a clear white background so it doesn’t
distract the audience and makes the information stand out more and
clear. Lastly my text is laid out clear so my target audience can find
what they want to read easily without trouble finding what they
want.
I used a website called Quark to create everything in my content page. Quark was used for the
image, content title, subheadings and small description underneath using all techniques I
could use and be confident with.
The strengths in using Quark is that its got a lot of techniques to use for a content page. The
strengths in my content page it that is shows all the main information needed in a content
page. Thw weakness’ is that Quark is very difficult to use and understanding from my
prepective and the weakness in my content page is that it could be a lot better with more
images if I practice more using Quark before making my content page so I could understand it
more and feel more confident.
