1. In what ways does your media use,
develop or challenge forms and
conventions of media products?
-I have followed the codes and conventions of my magazine
by using a medium close up for my magazine main image.
However I have develop this as I have not made it so my
main image covers some of the masthead as this may make
it difficult to read and identify due to it being a brand new
magazine. Also, I have followed codes and conventions as I
have followed rule of thirds due to the girls head being in
the top centre box and the cover lines are in both the left
middle and bottom boxes.
-Another way I followed codes and conventions through the
rule of thirds is by putting the masthead at the top spread
out across the page. I have also stuck to a continuous colour
scheme using green, purple and white which are the colours
of the college logo. This is to brand the college.
-I have used the main college building for the background of
my magazine. This gives a college environment to the
magazine clearly showing it is about education.

1. In what ways does your media use,
develop or challenge forms and
conventions of media products?
-I have followed codes and conventions in my magazine by
following rule of thirds. I use traditional features of a
contents page by using a unique masthead, mixing the name
of the magazine with ‘contents’. This is challenging codes
and conventions slightly as not many magazines have done
this due to my research. By following in part of the
magazines name on to another page, it is branding it as the
target audience will become more aware of the name and
will fix in their minds.
-another way I have followed codes and conventions is by
having the page numbers large. This allows the audience to
make it easier for the audience to navigate around the
magazine and find a specific article they are looking for.
-furthermore, I have made some changes to my drawn draft
as I felt it would be better if I was to include more images
compared to just one big one. This makes it more visual and
interesting.
2. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Hardware Software
I have used a canon
camera to take my
pictures with the wire
to upload them to my
computer.
I have used a
MacBook pro to
further edit my
pictures at home.
At college , I used a
dell computer to
work on my blog and
edit photos in
Photoshop.
I have used
Photoshop to edit
photos and create my
contents and front
cover.
I have used Microsoft
word to construct the
process of my
magazine.
I have used
PowerPoint to
create the
evaluation of
the magazine.
2. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
- I have learnt that software on the internet such as blogger
stores everything on the internet which keeps it safe and I
can access this from any computer as long as I have the
correct login.
- I have also learnt in Photoshop how to blend pictures out
so they aren't harshly ended. As seen in the photo to the
right, the pictures are softly faded near the edges.
- When using the canon camera, I learnt different settings
that I could use to enhance certain features in the photo.
