The main convention that appears
in the majority of Kate Nash’s

In both her video an our video this

We used separate still images to create the appearance of movement. This editing
technique, stop-motion, is a convention that appears in Kate Nash's music videos
which we thought we would use as a strong connection between our music video and
her professional ones.

6. Video Performance
• The performance in the majority of Kate Nash’s videos is very similar. She
is always seen singing into a camera as if directly to the audience. She
sometimes has a small section of simple dance moves and usually plays a
realistic character similar to herself. Many of her videos see her
interaction with a male character usually theyre seen to be in a
relationship.
We used this style of performance in our music video in order to follow the
conventions we had seen during our research. I think these conventions,
especially singing into the camera, help to connect the singer with the
audience, and having a relationship acted out enables the audince to feel
they can relate to her. By doing some “silly” dancing it makes her seem
more casual as if she is some one her audience feels they could be friends
with and she is not scared to do daft things.
