Our thriller is called ‘Psychosis’ and it follows the normal
codes and conventions of a thriller. It follows with a story of
a girl with a mental disorder that makes her self unable to
connect with reality and lacks emotion towards others
which is used as a weapon in the film. This is used as not
only the main plot device but the title to put emphasis on the
condition.
It also follows the normal codes and conventions of a thriller
as it has a main protagonist and side characters as well. We
had the main character Codi dressed also in normal attire as
tis makes her seem more natural and innocent and can
convey the message that her disease is internal and not
external.
In our thriller is a weapon which then is used to hurt
and try to damage Nick in the thriller. This also follows
the stereotypical version of a thriller as it uses a primary
weapon as a choice for the story. The weapon is used as
a from of violence in the thriller to create tension in the
film.
A unique piece about our thriller is that is based on
a mental disorder. Although some have occurred
before it bases it around the disease a lot more
rather than just broad crazy people that are
murderous or jump scares using the supernatural in
the story. This can challenge newer types of media
putting more emphasis on illnesses rather than
some form of fiction.
It also follows a thrillers codes and conventions by having
an action scene which Is Nick's attempted murder. This
helps build tension in the film and can also create grief to a
characters loss. This helps keep the audience interested
and on edge in the film which is primary message of a
thriller.
The setting we went for was a suburban alley way in
which we could film. We had also used the street
next to the alley way to extend our range and create
a different scene for the film. The alley way was used
to create the atmosphere and have a restricted view
on the situation and it makes the attack purposely
there to conceal him away form the public.
We had used many props to help us with the
filming such as the Swiss army knife and phones to
help the story and develop it further. The text
messages are used to create further mystery for the
story and is used to draw in the interest of the
audience. This can help draw people in further and
will allow us to further develop the characters for
the film. The text message is the end scene which
can further create tension and mystery for the
thriller.

  • 1. Our thriller is called ‘Psychosis’ and it follows the normal codes and conventions of a thriller. It follows with a story of a girl with a mental disorder that makes her self unable to connect with reality and lacks emotion towards others which is used as a weapon in the film. This is used as not only the main plot device but the title to put emphasis on the condition. It also follows the normal codes and conventions of a thriller as it has a main protagonist and side characters as well. We had the main character Codi dressed also in normal attire as tis makes her seem more natural and innocent and can convey the message that her disease is internal and not external.
  • 2. In our thriller is a weapon which then is used to hurt and try to damage Nick in the thriller. This also follows the stereotypical version of a thriller as it uses a primary weapon as a choice for the story. The weapon is used as a from of violence in the thriller to create tension in the film. A unique piece about our thriller is that is based on a mental disorder. Although some have occurred before it bases it around the disease a lot more rather than just broad crazy people that are murderous or jump scares using the supernatural in the story. This can challenge newer types of media putting more emphasis on illnesses rather than some form of fiction.
  • 3. It also follows a thrillers codes and conventions by having an action scene which Is Nick's attempted murder. This helps build tension in the film and can also create grief to a characters loss. This helps keep the audience interested and on edge in the film which is primary message of a thriller. The setting we went for was a suburban alley way in which we could film. We had also used the street next to the alley way to extend our range and create a different scene for the film. The alley way was used to create the atmosphere and have a restricted view on the situation and it makes the attack purposely there to conceal him away form the public.
  • 4. We had used many props to help us with the filming such as the Swiss army knife and phones to help the story and develop it further. The text messages are used to create further mystery for the story and is used to draw in the interest of the audience. This can help draw people in further and will allow us to further develop the characters for the film. The text message is the end scene which can further create tension and mystery for the thriller.
