2. I am firstly going to compare my teaser trailer to the teaser trailer for the 2010 film The Omen. Firstly watching the teaser trailer it is evident that the main focus of the teaser trailer is the young boy. In this film they have used a child actor as the evil thing and whilst in my teaser trailer my young actor is the victim, they both contain young actors. I think having young actors in a trailer is risky as the quality of the acting could be reduced but there is something almost magnetic about young actors especially if they have been made the main focus as they are not common in films, especially in the genre of Horror so this grabs audience attentions.Young actor in the OmenYoung actor in my trailer

3. Secondly, the main setting for this teaser trailer is in a park, a very stereotypical setting for a child to be seen in. Both in The Omen teaser trailer and my teaser trailer the actor is seen on the swings. However in both teaser trailers something eye catching happens to take the audience out of their comfort zone. In The Omen teaser trailer, the young actor looks at the audience, breaking the forth wall rule and this immediately makes it more uncomfortable and personal to watch. In my teaser trailer my actor would seem to disappear mid-swing which catches the eye of the audience and links with the continual theme of my teaser trailer.Use of swings in The OmenUse of swings in my teaser trailer

4. Finally the use of sound is very interesting in both teaser trailers. Within The Omen teaser trailer there is very little sound used with only the squeaking of the swing being used. However when the young actor looks at the camera there is a drum beat with string music in the background which emphasizes what has happened. 5. Typically in horror/thriller film trailers there are a lot of short shots edited together to make a quick and snappy trailer that grabs the audiences attention and almost get their heart racing. Looking through existing trailers I found that this was prominent in the trailer for Final Destination 4. As the drama and excitement increases, so does the speed of the shots. 6. In many of the trailers I have watched, text plays an important role in moving the trailer on and telling the audience more about what the film is about, The teaser trailer for What Lies Beneath does this really well as it tells a little of what the film is about which adds interest and gives people a reason to see the film. I have tried to do something similar in my teaser trailer. I have also used quick flashes of the word ‘run’ as subliminal messaging.Text in What Lies BeneathText in my teaser trailer
