Eugenics is defined as the social movement that claims to improve the genetic features of human populations through selective breeding and
sterilization, The word Eugenics is basically selective breeding and it is a Greek word for "good birth" which was made in the late 1800 's by
Francis Galton, who is related to the "survival of the fittest" scientist Charles Darwin. Galton 's number one goal was that each generation contain the
best people possible. His main fear was that the higher–class people were not adequately making children, so his response to the issue was to desire
and prompt them to have more children (Geneletter, 1999). Then again, Galton 's view of a worthy individual may have been different but his
techniques were not to deny the unworthy individuals from cultivating, nor did he result to executing to enhance the species. Having all said, the
historical backdrop of the Eugenics Movement has influenced a lot of people all around the globe particularly in the state of North Carolina, amid the

characteristics (Merriam–Webster). The extensive and shadowed history of authoritative and liberal eugenics practices dates back to 1883 when
eugenecist Francis Galton began publicly advocating for the castration of the insane. Eugenics practices occurred around the world for more than a
century and are still part of scientific progress and discussion today. From the T4 programs of Nazi Germany to the Human Genome Project and the

were interesting and were as a result of one another, were the Eugenics movement in the early 20th century and the Disability Rights Movement in the

At this current time physical education is only compulsory in Australian high schools from years 8 – 10. Surveys, which will be discussed in more
detail later on, have shown that some students generally rather enjoy the physical aspect of the course, while others find it to be one of the more
negative experiences they encounter throughout high school. Physical education provides students with knowledge about keeping healthy and teaches

which meets the pupil's individual needs, (Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations Act 2016). Following this legal obligation imposed by
the UK Government, statutory guidance has been introduced by the Department for Education to support all key parties involved with regulating

Carrie's baby was only eight month old when they claimed that she was not a normal baby due to the fact that Carrie and her mother were
feebleminded. Dr. Priddy believed that if they were to let Carrie be sterilized then it would most likely remove more feebleminded offspring's which
can decrease her chance of having a feebleminded baby (Buck v. Bell, 2006).
Carrie's lawyer Irving Whitehead did not make any justification for Carrie knowing that she was a church girl going every day and had no problems
in school. Even though he would have the chance to represent Carrie in the higher courts, he would be on Dr. Priddy's and Aubrey Strode side because
he sees the same effects as them. They fought to request the case through many courts expecting to get all the support that they can for the sterilization
law (Buck v. Bell, 2006).
Later the Circuit Court had supported the law and filed for the sterilization of Carrie. In 1925 Carrie's lawyer Irving Whitehead supported the
decision of the Circuit Court at the Supreme Court of Appeals of the State of Virginia. So after all of this Dr. Priddy had passed away in which Dr. J.H.
Bell had replaced him at the Colony. The case now became Buck v. Bell; Dr. Bell had sterilized Carrie in 1927 which then was released from the
Colony (Buck v. Bell, 2006).

"unfit" neither benefit the welfare of the individual nor that of society for several moral and legal reasons. The legal validity of these involuntary
sterilization laws would be challenged within the Supreme Court case of Buck v. Bell. In September of 1924, at the age of eighteen, Carrie Buck, an
illegitimate daughter of an allegedly feebleminded woman, was admitted to the Virginia's State Colony for Epileptics and the Feebleminded. Six
months earlier, the Virginia State Legislature decisively passed their involuntary sterilization bill authorizing the Superintendents of five state
institutions to petition for the permission to sterilize inmates. Buck, who had a mental age of nine and an I.Q. of about fifty, had already given birth to
an illegitimate child herself, who was allegedly feebleminded as well. At the time, the Superintendent of the State Colony, Dr. A. S. Priddy, petitioned
for permission to sterilize this woman for fear that Buck would have more mentally defective children. The statute had provided that each

Eugenics And The Social Movement Eugenics is defined as the social movement that claims to improve the genetic features of human populations through selective breeding and sterilization, The word Eugenics is basically selective breeding and it is a Greek word for "good birth" which was made in the late 1800 's by Francis Galton, who is related to the "survival of the fittest" scientist Charles Darwin. Galton 's number one goal was that each generation contain the best people possible. His main fear was that the higher–class people were not adequately making children, so his response to the issue was to desire and prompt them to have more children (Geneletter, 1999). Then again, Galton 's view of a worthy individual may have been different but his techniques were not to deny the unworthy individuals from cultivating, nor did he result to executing to enhance the species.
