This document discusses different types of distributions that can result from ethylene oligomerization reactions, including Schulz-Flory distributions, alternating distributions, and selective distributions. It presents mathematical models using recurrence relations to describe these different distribution types. Schulz-Flory distributions follow a first-order recurrence relation and result in an exponential decay of oligomer fractions. Alternating distributions follow a second-order recurrence relation and produce a distribution with alternating higher and lower fractions for odd- and even-numbered oligomers. Selective trimerization and tetramerization reactions can produce distributions favoring specific oligomers like 1-hexene or 1-octene.
