This document describes Essmart, a rural retailer B2B network that provides small rural retailers access to curated agricultural and livelihood products. It notes that rural retailers currently do not stock or sell durable agricultural products due to high minimum order quantities, lack of product knowledge and training, and limited access to spare parts. Essmart aims to address this problem by enabling rural retailers to access and sell curated durable products through flexible pricing and quantities, basic product training, and access to spare parts and supplier support. The network currently impacts over 1 million people across 3000+ shops in 3 states.
