When I took my first bow on a stage, I knew that wanted to peruse the performing
arts as a permanent career. I was so pleased with myself that I finally found a place
where I belong. As I have grown as a performer, I have learned that performing is not
just reciting lines in front of an audience but creating a picture with words. There is a
technique behind acting and many have come to known this as method , method
acting , or the Stanislavski method . This method of acting was created by Constantin
Stanislavski, born Constantin Sergeyevich Alekseyev, a well known Russian actor,
director, producer and co founder of the Moscow Art Theatre, which... Show more

Being open and onstage is a very overwhelming experience, and not something that
everyone experiences. Theater began in Ancient Greece with masks movement
stylized specifically towards one character. Some styles of theatre may have
changed throughout the centuries and countries, but they were still built upon the
early Greek life. However, in everyday life, we do not behave in suck a way they
Greeks or the Romans did back then. Stanislavski pushed actors to find ways to
demonstrate reality while being able to project.
Have you ever people watched at an airport or an event? This idea helped
Stanislavski create the next element, Observation. Observation can help an actor
shift through different emotions and portray different people. Stanislavski was the
ultimate people watcher. He encouraged his students to observe humans and animals
in their everyday life to see how they react around each other as well as daily
activities. This not only helps the actor portray these actions on stage, but it also
makes the actor more aware of why they are doing the action.
After studying pedestrians around him, Stanislavski would often disguise himself as
a peasant or an old man, and interact with the citizens of his town to gather their
reactions and create a better understanding of humans. Every person is unique.
Stanislavski saw this and noticed that every character should have unique traits. Some
of which can be created by observing others in their
Difference Between Formal And Less Formal Writing
Morphology Analysis: Formal vs Less Formal Writing Word choice in writing is
influenced by the context, just as is the case between formal speeches and
informal ones. The kind of words in formal and less formal writing gravitates
between academic and formal, depending on the context and the message being
put across. The morphemes used in both formal (academic) and less formal (as is
the case in newspapers), vary. Formal writing uses different word forms and
morphemes, due to the strict nature of this kind of written communication. Less
formal writing moves between using a lot of morphemes and still maintaining a
certain level of formality, so as to communicate effectively. In some instances, less
formal writing may even use colloquial language and a lot of morphemes. In this
discussion, the focus is on an academic form of writing and a less formal kind of
writing, picked from a newspaper. The discussion shall analyze how morphemes
have been used in the two kinds of writing and why this is the case. The first
writing is a Classroom Research, which is just an introduction of the research and
sets the tone for the rest of the paper. The sentences are short and use few
adjectives, as the journal work seeks to strictly communicate facts and avoid the
introduction of personal opinions. The writing is objective and the morphemes used
have affixes, to keep them short and precise. In the journal paper, the writers used a
lot of free words to create meaning and context. For example,

provide citizens of this community an opportunity to participate or volunteer in a
meaningful event. Approximately one hundred people attended the event hosted by
St. Bernard faculty members, Families Inc., and other volunteers throughout the local
community ensuring a successful event.
Target Population According to Mihaela Grasu, autism is a complex developmental
disorder with a neurobiological character, characterized by problems of
communication and relating to others as well as interests, activities and behaviors
that are restricted, repetitive and stereotypical (2015, p. 87). The target population
pertained to pre school children to adolescents with ASD symptoms that residing in
Jonesboro or the surrounding cities. The participants and parents at this event are
advocates for the children and adolescents who have the disability. The event was
conducted by several organizations advocating in support of those with this disability.
There was a direct and noticeable impact on the community members who helped
provide a healthy activity for the children in the community. This event represented a
powerful message and demonstrated the dedication and passion that participants and
volunteers alike hold for this unique and special population.
Romeo And Juliet Choices
Choices made, whether bad or good, follow you forever and affect everyone in their
path one way or another J.E.B. Spredemann. All people in life dictate their future
through a process of choices. Choices in life have consequences, negative or positive,
but people tend to blame these outcomes on fate. The tragedyin the play, Romeo and
Juliet, unfolds in its disastrous way due to the careless actions of the characters,
though they blame it all on fate. The characters Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence
continually use poor judgement and make mistakes pushing them further into the end
tragedy. As the plot grows, the hole the characters dig for themselves deepens.

There is no statute, formula or template which the courts would rely upon to decide
cases related to children visitation. The relationships between parties, such as non
custodian parent, de factor parent, same sex partner, grandparents, aunt and uncle and
the children subject to visitation dispute are complex. During the last several
decades, the phrase best interest of the child has evolved. Many states have a set of
criteria to define the best interest of the child; however, the State of Massachusetts is
among a few states which reserves the trial judges with judicial authority and
discretion to decide based on the material facts and evidence presented at trial. In

social scientist and the judicial norm in terms of what is the best interest of the child.
The arguments based on the rationales that the child s best interest should be based

psychological, anthropological, and interpersonal, personal relationship with
surrounding living environments which may directly or indirectly effect the child.

The Tax Reform Act Of 1997
There are only two things assured in this world: death and taxes. Whether you re a
corporate employee or an entrepreneur, you will have to pay your taxes. For every
entrepreneur, taxation is a very crucial factor in their financial investment s decision
making process because the lower the tax burden the higher the revenue which
equivalently paid out in forms of wages and salaries or dividends (Lynn, 2015).
The word tax comes from the latin word taxo which means I estimate. It varies
from different countries and how they are paid. In the Philippines, taxes can be
grouped to national taxes and local taxes. National taxes are those based on the Tax
Reform Act of 1997 also known as the Republic Act No. 8424. The Tariff and
Custom Code of the Philippines which levied the import and export tariffs (Republic
Act No. 1937) may be considered as a national government tax.
Under this group, we have the capital gain tax, documentary stamp tax, donor s tax,
estate tax, income tax, percentage tax, value added tax and excise tax. A capital
gain tax is a tax imposed on the earnings of a seller has gained from the sale of his
/her capital assets (Castillo, 2015). In identifying the capital assets, we need to
understand that the word capital assets mean property held by the taxpayer (Tax
Code Section 39). Documentary stamp tax is an excise tax levied on documents,
instruments, loan agreements and paper evidencing the acceptance, assignment, sale
or transfer of an obligation, rights, or
A Woman s Name Of The Kopp Chronicles
Chapter One February 23, 1843, 10 years before the events of An Immigrant
American, Volume 1 of the Kopp Chronicles.
Suddenly, the door of the carriage flung open, as it pulled up to the doors of the
Mannheim Palace on an early and cold February morning in 1843.
Karolina, I am so glad you are here! A young woman with brown disheveled hair said
frantically as she burst into tears.
I thought you would never get here. I don t know what to do with my hair, and my
mother needs help with the wedding, and they will be here any moment! Please
hurry and come with me! She sobbed and ran toward the doors of the palace.
Karolina Sorg, a pretty seventeen year old girl, and her mother Theresia surprised at
the sudden stop of the carriage and the loud outburst quickly recovered. They
stepped out of the carriage and followed her, breaking with all proper decorum as
they entered the palace.
The woman s name was Princess Marie Amelie Elisabeth Karoline of Baden and that
evening she was marrying the Marquess of Hamilton, son of the Duke of Hamilton.
The previous day, her mother had sent an urgent message to Theresia to come to the
palace and help with last minute wedding preparations. She also suggested Theresia
bring her daughter with her to help the princess.
Karolina and Theresia traveled overnight by carriage and by train all the way to
Mannheim from the small village of Sulz, in the Grand Duchy of Baden, a distance of
over 160 kilometers.

Hair Can Act As A Symbol Of Self And Group Identity
Hairstyles often act as ways to identify cultures since they are both public (visible
to others) and personal (linked to the body biologically, personally molded to suit
cultural and personal preferences) women s hairstyles can be central to their
social positions (Synnott 1987). Hair can act as both a symbol of self and group
identity as well as a form of self expression and communication. I was recently
listening to India Arie s I Am Not My Hair and it reminded me of several occasions
where those around me in addition to my self have had our self confidence shaken
due to the importance that our society puts on a woman s hair. In Arie s song she
points out in her lyrics that in today s world Good hair means curls and waves and
that Bad hair means [that] you look like a slave. The concept of conventional
attractiveness, looking like the ideal partner, can lend itself to forms of power that
women face internally and externally. Women that are conventionally attractive are
typically not as lonely, very popular, experience higher rates of marriage, have
more experience sexually, are more likely to marry men of a higher socioeconomic
status and are more likely to be hired, promoted and paid a higher salary than non
attractive women (Jackson 1992, Sullivan 2001, Weitz 2010). During the Summer
of 2005 I visited my father and his new fiancГ©e for the first time. That Summer I
had just turned 10 years old and my hair rested a little past the top of my shoulder

Military Brat Research Paper
Military brats can be found in many countries from Asia, Europe, and the United
States. They can be some of the most experienced people due to moving to
different places every few years and adapting to the culture. Military brats are
usually children that comes from a military family. Meaning that one of their parents
or both are serving in the military, usually active duty members. They can be male
or female and mostly under the age of eighteen, and it does not matter what their
race is. One formal norm that is part of a military brat is their behavior. If one gets in
serious trouble in school or outside, authorities may call the parents Commanding
Officer and their actions may be written on their parents military record, affecting
their work. Another formal norm is, since military families live on military or... Show

For example, almost every kid whose parent or parents are in the military have
been deployed before. Meaning that their parent is going away for duty to another
country like Iraq or Afghanistan for 6 18 months. This puts stress on the family
because they do not have both parents for support. Not only does having a parent
deployed for a long time makes things stressful, but also moving to different cities
because of one s parent received orders somewhere else to work. This part is also
stressful due to the entire moving process. Parents have to get paper work
processed and kids have to complete paper work for school, so they can stay on
track from their old school to their new school. But besides the school and paper
work, this is tough on the kids because they have to keep making new friends
everywhere they move to. However, with moving comes new experiences. Such as, if
one family gets stationed in Germany they can travel to different countries and
experience other cultures. Or one can learn the country s language and communicate
with others outside the military to adapt to their
Government Sequestration Case Study
The 2013 Federal government sequestration had many air traffic controllers either
furloughed or working without pay. Morale was low. It had happened before,
during the 2011 Federal government shutdown, with similar results. In a profession
where every decision can mean life or death, low morale must be seriously
considered. Even without the past job insecurity issues, air traffic controllers in
general feel under appreciated: they work long and stressful hours and are often
asked to put in overtime. The FAA S 2013 budgetary crisis was averted after
Congress passed the Reducing Flight Delays Act and the FAA discontinued
furloughs, but for many, concerns about job security remain. There will be another
Federal budget crisis, the possibility... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
NextGen, the highly touted satellite based air traffic control system, might also
negatively affect employee morale. Although not currently publicized as such by
the FAA, NextGen if properly implemented could bring about efficiencies in air
traffic management such that fewer controllers would be required. Thus, in the
coming decades, downsizing might be a real threat to the ATC controller s job
security. The FAA talks around the edges of these traffic management efficiencies:
FAA webpages and documents mention, but don t fully analyze the possibility of
non staffed towers and hub like control centers. One FAA study in 2013 indicated
once NextGen is operational, 187 enroute centers and TRACONS might be
consolidated into just 51 facilities, saving the FAA between $310 to $680 million a
year (Harrison, 2013). Although the report doesn t specify, the obvious assumption
is that much of the savings would come from the FAA s payroll accounts. The most
recent FAA Controller Workforce Plan is basically silent in regards to the
implications of NextGen (TRB, 2014). The FAA says that current staffing is based
upon the current plan of operations which apparently does not include NextGen
(FAA 2015a). This seems surprising in light of the fact that the FAA has no trouble
staffing to predicted air traffic numbers, but does not plan for the impacts of NextGen

On the other hand, The Indians gradually trust, love and respect Dunbar because of
his honest and genuine nature. He falls in love with a white women who was raised
by the Sioux after her whole family was killed by the Pawnee, another Indian tribe.
Dunbar marries her, becomes a part of the tribe and settles down in their village. He
lives a happy life with the Indians, but there is always something in the back of his
mind, something that is always bothering him.
Dunbar knows that the arrival of American troops in the frontiers will only be a
matter of time. Soon, he has to make the decision whether he wants to stick to his
new friends or go back to his fellow soldiers and fight against the Indians. When
Dunbar rides back to his post to get his journal, American soldiers are gathered
around his post. They see him coming and shoot his horse. Since Dunbar is wearing
a Sioux gown, the troops look at him as a trader and treat him brutally. When the
soldiers are on their way to the next village to have Dunbar hanged, the Sioux attack,
and rescue their friend, Dunbar. Back at the Indian camp, Dunbar and his wife decide
to leave the Sioux. John Dunbar knows that he is a wanted man now.
His decision to leave the Sioux is based on protecting them from more trouble with
the American troops.
The film s purpose is to shift the viewers sympathy towards the Sioux. The
Major Causes Of The First Crusades
The First Crusade was the start of mass religious persecution in Europe. The
crusade focused on violent subjection of non Christians like Jews and Muslims
lead by the order of Pope Urban II. Urban II made a call to arms against many
against the Muslims stating that they must wrest that land from the wicked race,
and subject it to yourselves (332). This entailed that anyone who was not Christian
was part of this wicked race , and that those who didn t believe in the holiness of
Christ was to be either converted or eradicated. This is how the persecution of Jews
came to place along with that of Muslim belief. The Jews, who had amassed a large
following in the Rhineland, were seen as a much as a problem as the Muslims that
the First Crusadeswere focused on due to the fact that they were close to home. This
lead them to be included in these crusades. The question at hand was why the
perspectives of Christians towards non Christians led them to violent action against
Muslims and Jews? A major factor that lead to the First Crusadewas the presence of a
Turkish threat in the Asia Minor. The Seljuk Turks had a strong presence already and
after the capture of Baghdad, they created pressure for the Byzantine Empire. After a
disastrous attempt to impede the looming Turkish forces with a mercenary army of
Franks, Normans, and Slavs that led to the capture of emperor Romanus IV, the
Byzantines lost their control over the region. The new emperor Alexius I took further
action and
Character Analysis Of Mael Lang
With its uncomplicated moral for parents to look after their children, M (Lang,
1931), the film that Fritz Lang himself considered his best artwork, reveals the
story of Hans Beckert, the man whose perverted desires turned him into a
pedophile and a serial killer. As the story goes, Fritz Lang exposes and juxtaposes
two personalities hidden in Beckert the maniac, the personality that the director
integrates into the movie first, without showing the murderer s face, and the
paranoiac who is scared of his urgencies but is too weak to resist them. Such scenes
as Beckert s examination of his face in the mirror while the police secretary describes
the traits of the maniac, the maniac s transformation as he sees the new potential
victim and his attempt to hold his wrath, and the trial expose different traits of the
Beckert s personality, giving his character more complexity than just a label serial
killer . The blocking, setting of the scenes, and sound design help to reveal Beckert s
nature through the film and to built the tense and mystique atmosphere around him,
drawing the spectator s attention away from the issue of the murdered children to the
development of the villain s character.
To drive the spectators empathy to the specific characters, Fritz Lang uses blocking to
reveal Beckert s personality as full as possible, juxtaposing his two conflicted
personalities. For example, when Hans Beckert talks to Elsie, he sounds rather
depressed than attractive or seductive,
The Key to Success
4. What are the pros and cons of management using theexperience curve to determine
strategy?
The experience curve is an idea developed by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG)
in the mid 1960s. Working with a leading manufacturer of semiconductors, the
consultants noticed that the company s unit cost of manufacturing fell by about
25% for each doubling of the volume that it produced. This relationship they called
the experience curve: the more experience a firm has in producing a particular
product, the lower are its costs. However, if the decline in cost is fast if growth is
fast and slow if growth is slow.
The strategic implications of the experience curve came closer to shattering earth.
For if costs fell (fairly predictably) with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In some cases, this can save companies money because they do not have to pay travel
expenses. When employees use technology for telecommuting, they can work in the
comfort of their home instead of traveling to a workplace.
Benefit: Saving Time
Technology can decrease the time it takes to accomplish a task, which can ultimately
save money and increase productivity. Communication speed also increases. Instead
of sending a message by postal mail, using email or fax can deliver it instantaneously.
Technology can also speed up various manufacturing processes, as machines and
computers can do work that was once performed by humans more quickly and
efficiently.
Drawback: Dependency
On the downside, the use of technology doesn t always result in greater efficiency.
Companies that depend heavily on computer systems to conduct business can come to
a virtual standstill if the system breaks down. There is typically a learning curve that
accompanies the introduction of a new process, which can lead to a loss in
productivity and disgruntled employees. For employees who telecommute and
experience computer problems, it may be more difficult to receive timely technical
support.
Drawback: Need to Upgrade
Some technologies contain features that need to be upgraded regularly, which can
result in an additional expense for the company. For example, companies may need to
change computer software frequently just to

the steps to repair process are also outlined. The author finally considers the results
which can result from reputation repair practices.
At the same time, there are some people who still believe in the maxim of Milton

Who Is To Blame For Al Capon s Suicide
Al Capone s attempt to murder leader of the Chicago gang, George (bugs) Moran

The Category And Summary Of The Lord Of The Flies
Summary of the movie: A gathering of young men end up stranded on an island
and begin getting to be plainly savage. Reasonable Ralph turns into the assigned
pioneer of a group of military children who crash in the sea and wind up on a rich
island. Initially, the gathering began as companions, cooperating to survive,
however soon they split into two camps, the other drove by Jack, who winds up
noticeably lopsided and somewhat vicious. Jack has a no rules, savage operation,
with his young men running chasing for pigs and plotting assaults on the
adversary camp. The head of a pig is put on a stake, and turns into The Lord of the
Flies. There is tumult battling about essential items, for example, the conch shell,
to some degree an image of who s in control, and a pair of glasses, used to start a
fire. Jack and his rowdy young peers attempt to take these. In the meantime, the
tranquil and intelligent kid Simon, of Jack s gathering, sets out and finds a cave
where a creature lives, the beast being the plane s captain who survived and hung out
there. Simon returns from the experience shaken and filthy, at camp the young men
assault him with lances, slaughtering him. Afterward, Piggy, from Ralph s camp is
murdered when a gigantic rock is pushed and falls on him. Ralph fears for his life,
knowing very well indeed that Jack is currently after him. Flames are begun to bait
him out of the wilderness. A group of American militaries arrives, and encountered

Motivation In Bartleby And Benito Cereno
What is the root cause of a person s actions? Mainly it is their experiences and their
inner feelings regarding their life. If a person s life is privileged, then they are not
as prone to negative actions; however, if a person s life is hard, then they might be
more inclined to try to change their lives and be cruel to those who are making their
lives difficult. Motivation is the initiating factor behind most people s actions, the
more motivated the more likely action is taken. According to Kendra Cherry on
verywell.com, The incentive theory suggests that people are motivated to do things
because of external rewards . With the right amount of motivation people are more
prone to take action in their lives. What would happen if the roles of... Show more

Due to the reverse of roles in the control of the ship, the reason the Spaniards did
not continue to try to blatantly take action against the slaves, may have been due
to them not dealing with distress as long as the slaves had, so their incentive to act
was not as strong. According to the National Center for Biotechnology
Information, Distress levels may have a role in increasing the motivation to
change or search for a change strategy , therefore, the slaves success in overtaking
the ship was heavily motivated by years of distress and unfortunate circumstances.
Melville s short story, Bartleby , also portrays a role reversal. In Bartleby , the
lawyer, who hires Bartleby, slowly becomes more like an employee than an
employer; since, Bartleby refuses to work or leave the office building and the
lawyer simply works around him, instead of being more insistent that Bartleby
actually work or leave the building. Though this role reversal is not as evident as
the reversal in Melville s Benito Cereno , a switch between employer and
employee does occur. Not much information is given about Bartleby, so it can not
completely be explained as to why he is so motivated to refuse to follow orders
and do whatever he desires, but the lawyer s hesitation to become a stronger willed
employer instead of almost an employee can be explained. The lawyer was not great

Database Design, Implementation, and Management
ABSTRACT
Database Design, Implementation, and Management
Gymnasium Database System
As the world entering into a digital era, most of organizations use different kinds of
database environment to achieve efficient management. A suitable database
management system provides a set of tools for an organization to efficiently track and
manage its data.
The development of a database follows a database application lifecycle. It is a rather
long process and requires a considerable amount of time, energy, and resources as
well. A database administrator is obliged to strive for the perfection of the database to
address the increasing amount of information to be dealt with. Apart from that, since
new technology keeps emerging, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

1. Introduction
For any organization the collection and storage of data have always been a primary
concern. Large organizations nowadays use a database system to address this task.
However, the earliest solution is a file based system, and it is still in use in many
small firms today.
File based system is a set of application programs that provides services for users to
keep and process data. Each program is independent and can define and manage its
own data. When users need to look up some information, they go to the filing system
and search from the first entry until the desired result is found.
Although the file based system can be an effective approach sometime, it does suffer
from two detrimental problems:
в†ђ Isolation of data. When stored in a file based system, data is kept within
separate files in an isolated manner. It would be a rather difficult task when users
want to access relevant information from two different files. в†ђ

How to Survive Organizational Changes in the Fast Changing World
As we have learned all quarter, managing the changing organizational environment is
one of the most salient challenges in today s business world. Managing organizational
change properly can minimize resistance from employees and cost of and maximize
the effectiveness of the changes. In other words, managing organizational change
addresses the human side of the changing management. Personally, I think
organizational changes are a great sign for a company. When organizational changes
occur, it means the company is faced with an opportunity to make a transition from
its current state to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Competitions have also grown more fiercely in the society nowadays. To remain
competitive, companies are required to undergo changes.
Communicate, Communicate, Communicate
So how are some of the most important things an organizational leader can do to
effectively manage the company s culture in order to survive in the ever changing
business landscape? One of the most important thing a leader can do is to lead from
the front and communicate with management team and employees about how critical
cultural change will affect a company s ability to sustain. Take the time to
communicate with the employees to ensure they now what is it their company is
about and let them know the process of getting to excellence. Communicating
through any kind of medium is an opportunity to reinforce the consistent message
and vision to the employees and it s also a great way to reach agreement on a
common vision for a change.
Defining Your Unique Culture
Before communicating with the employees, however, a clear company culture must
be determined by the leader. Defining the company culture is not to put a few
buzzword such as innovation or active but to really understand the business and
determine how to manifest the company realistically. A great company culture might
be just as motivational to the employees as the name of the company or the salary.
That being said, the company culture plays a major role in retaining the employees
who may decide
The British Soldier As A Drunken Brute
The beginning of the nineteenth century found the British army already engaged for
the last seven years in a war with the French. This war to oppose Napoleon would last
until 1815, by which time the British would be victorious. This triumphant British
army, although successful throughout their campaign with the French, was not
openly considered a humble and advantageous force for society. In fact, the common
stereotype and popular image of the British soldierwas negative, as the Duke of
Wellington stated the soldiers were the scum of the earth who have all enlisted to
drink .1 For the majority of the soldiers, this label was given inappropriately and
carelessly. The Autobiography of Sergeant William Lawrence, a British soldier who
fought in the Peninsula and Waterloo Campaigns during his fourteen year military
career, offers an insight into the lives of the labelled soldiers and interpretation of
whether this label can be deemed accurate.
The idea of the British soldier as a drunken brute is inaccurate. The men who enlisted
to fight against Napoleon were more often than not forced to do so out of economic
necessity. Soldiers delinquencies seemed to many contemporaries to be the
unavoidable result of the type of men who enlisted. 2 The British army was made
from voluntary enlistment, and this was thought to have produced a body of army
that was inferior in both character and discipline to the past British armies. For the
volunteers, the promise of regular food and

EXPOSITORY Tourists are rejecting the traditional holiday vacations in favour of
experiencing different places and activities. Why might this be?
Family vacations used to be the go to trip for any given time to travel, but as
generations advance the destinations of holiday vacations have evolved alongside
society. The mindset of the world today has caused people to reject traditional
holiday vacations for new experiences. These new experiences can range anywhere
from going to exotic places like Jamaica to Greece to just staying home. There is a
reason for all of this change, such as the lack of financial stability, the increase in
technology and social media, and different kinds of people with their diverse views.
Traveling is expensive, and financial issues have begun to cause the downfall of
most vacations. People cannot afford to go and see their family, so they stay home
on vacations known as staycations. These staycations are a new experience for a lot
of people because they are not going anywhere on their vacation time, which is
unusual for them. One reason for this is that student loans have gone up
tremendously in recent years and before people can worry about going on vacation,
they must pay back these debts. These loans can last a lifetime, and instead of
worrying about them forever they postpone their vacations, so
Surveillance In The Workplace
As more and more advancements are made in the wide world of technology,
workplace surveillance seems like a logical step. However as with anything, there
are pros and cons which should be considered. I think finding a balance that best
serves the interests of success for businesses using it and the productivity of
employees without creating an oppressive workplace is very important. This article
did a good job of pointing out the proven success of creating an environment which
encourages more interaction and teamwork among workers such as 15 minute
coffee breaks and cafe spaces where they can take a few minutes to unwind and
interact with each other. This helps them get to know their co workers, feel less
isolated and encourages better working relationships and creates more of a team

That requires the employer to have people skills as well as business skills. When a
person feels like part of a team effort that s appreciated and acknowledged, they are
much more likely to put their best effort into it. Of coarse, even taking this into
account there will always be those employees who may be dishonest or lazy. This
is where the employer needs to pinpoint who they are for the sake of their business
investment. For many businesses employee theft is a growing problem. In a
Business News Weekly article Employee Theft Rising; Expected to Get Worse , at

Analysis Of Newton Raphson Load Flow Method With Wind
Power
5.1 Review
Li et.al[5] suggested Newton Raphson load flow method with wind power.
Asynchronous and double fed induction generator were explained in detail and
accordingly Jacobian matrices were suggested. An IEEE 5 bus system was used for
case study which proved that the new NR method had a good convergence hence
could be used for calculations for large grid with wind power. Steady state equivalent
circuit for AG and DFIG were also discussed in the paper.
Feijoo et.al [6] proposed two methods for simulation of wind farms with
asynchronous generators for load flow analysis which were based on steady state
model of induction machine. In the first model wind generator was modelled as a
PQ bus with real power and power factor known and reactive power was calculated.
Some improvement in steady state model of induction machine was done. In the
second model an RX model was used which involved modelling the generators in
steady state in the bus where the wind farm was located.

Rapid consumption of non renewable fossil fuels as sources of energy has lead to
depletion of these resources. So the price of petroleum resource has increased in the
international market. A growing concern over their environmental effects has lead to
research and development in the area of renewable energy to find an alternative
source of energy for future. Wind energy which possesses the highest power density
amongst various renewable energy sources, is one such source. [27].

Creating a website for online business
According to Poo (2008), in creating one s website for business purposes, the first
step is to determine one s goals on what will one use the site for? Is it for retailing or
purely marketing website? These are some things that need pondering before
designing a website to make it an effective website. By brainstorming and finding out
the main goals, determining the genre of the website is the next step. This will
determine the pros and cons of the website.
There are four genres of websites which are the sales or retailing, marketing,
information and a web based application. Poo (2008) describes that retailing or
sales website it focuses much on a lot of pictures, sporadic text on product
descriptions and these sites are very user friendly and easy to navigate. However,
one disadvantage of retail websites is that they are not usually recognized by search
engines and one way of counteracting that and bringing in traffic is making use of
affiliate programs.
Marketing websites compared to retailing websites is that it is designed to sell a
product and one product only. Marketing website is very easy to design which
feature mostly text and a few images. What is great

The Music That Have Changed The Face Of Music
Growing up, Beethoven was a household name. Countless studies have been released
claiming classical music could increase babies intelligence. The importance of music
is vast and affects every individual in a multitude of ways. Throughout the course of
history, there have been artist that have changed the face of music as we know it.
Two important composers to the course of music s history are Ludwig van Beethoven
and Franz Liszt. While both composers certainly have similarities in their music, there
are also multiple differences that separate them as completely different artists.
Ludwig van Beethoven was born around December 16th in 1770 in the city of
Bonn. His father, Johann van Beethoven was a singer and terrible alcoholic. He
was locked in a cellar, flogged, and made to practice for hours upon hours. He was
also beaten for any mistakes made while playing piano. Beethoven s father hoped he
would be a musical child prodigy just like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. When
Beethoven turned the age of ten, he dropped out of school to pursue studying music
full time. When his father s health began to decay due to his alcoholism, Beethoven
began to work in order to support his family. He worked as an Assistant Court
Organist. Ludwig van Beethoven was sent to Vienna to study music further, but
returned home when his mother became ill. Beethoven s earliest piece was titled
Cantata on the Death of Emperor Joseph II and was written after the death of
Emperor Joseph II. In 1792 Beethoven

Physics in Sports Essay
Physics in Sports
When many people think of sports, the topic of physics doesn t always come to
mind. They usually don t think about connecting athletics with academics. In reality
math, science, and especially physics, tie into every aspect of sports. Sports are a
commonality that brings nations together, Soccer, known as football to most of the
world, is said to an unspoken language, which unties people from different lands
through a passion to play a game. Athletics and sports are made by the people who
play, watch, and study them. Without all of the enthusiastic participants, there would
be no development, education, and intensity that we all know and love about sports.

As for the golf industry there is the issue of everybody wanting to hit the ball
farther, and the golf companies keep putting out new clubs that allow this to be
possible. So I really think that the golf companies will continue to hover around the
upper limit COR of .83 for drivers because there is still a really high demand for
drivers that hit the ball a long way. For pole vaulting I see no issue in the near future.
It will be exciting to see the new advances made to the poles and to see how high
the athletes can get. As for the new sciences in the three articles I really learned a
lot. I learned what the trampoline effect was and how it ties into more than just one
sport. I learned what the coefficient of restitution was and how it affects the flight
of a golf ball. I also learned what strain energy was and how it applies to stored
energy. But most importantly I think, is that I learned that without the understanding
of physics none of these sports would be organized or be able to make the advances
that it has over the years.
When it comes down to it everybody is affected by physics in sports. If there are
rules and regulations put on products then the producers are affected greatly. The
consumers are always affected by what the producers put out for them to have. If
they are educated on the physics of the sport then they can make the best possible
decision when it comes to picking a product. This also

Self-Moralism And Social Criticism In Jane Addams
Jane Addams wanted the mind of women to be valued and mirrored through the
actions of individuals seeking to use emotions of empathy and feeling of duty
rather than self interest. She joined the growing pool of criticism of Social
Darwinism not because of its scientific weaknesses, but rather due to its center
principal of anti morality. She refused to accept its masculine ideals of physical
dominance to serve self interest and its ranking of materialism. Without doubt, one
of her most stringent and remembered points of social criticism was targeted at
paternalism. She routinely exposed the motives behind 19th century philanthropists
who attempted to do good to people rather than to do good with them . Once again,
her target of criticism is the male centered way of thinking that was pertinent in her
time, due to the fact that it was overwhelmingly focused on placing oneself ahead of
another person and attempting to force yourself onto them because you feel that
your way of handling the situation is better than those who are experiencing the
hardship you are attempting to amend in the first place. She wanted less of a
paternal mindset and more of a maternal one that is categorized by empathetic
collaboration instead of domination. Addams viewed new groups of immigrants as a
welcomed force into urban American society. Her ideology on race, which can be
described as pluralist, was fitting toward a strategy of reform that took aim at
socioeconomic conditions that were far too

As Freder makes his transition into the underworld, we come to the scene in the

a clearer view for executives to able to implement its strategy. Drs. Kaplan and

some weakness and imprecision of previous approaches to form and provides a
clearer prescription for businesses that how it should be measured in order to have a

As an Old English professor for 35 years, it is clear that Tolkien had a passion for
Anglo Saxon history (Collier). His writings on Beowulf is critically acclaimed and
shows Tolkien s enriched knowledge of the time period and the Old English style of
poetry. Even further, his love for the English culture and literature can clearly be seen
in his own fictional work, mainly The Lord of The Rings. Throughout this book,
Tolkien uses various Old Englishwords for places and people in Middle earth.
Furthermore, he honors a rich Anglo Saxon history through the Rohirrim and their
similar culture of war. Lastly, Tolkien mirrors the epic poem Beowulf

Beowulf was the most important work of scholarship that Tolkien read and is what
inspired many scenes and themes in The Lord of the Rings. When analyzing the
influence of the Old English poem, it is important to understand Tolkien s
perspective on the poem which explains why it had such a major impact on his life
and his writing. In his piece Beowulf: The Monsters and the Critics Tolkien
explains that his love for the poem is based upon the style and beauty of the poem.
He states that Beowulf should be known world wide due to how the monster s and
dragons are depicted, or its everlasting quality. In his final paragraph Tolkien tosses
aside the historical value that the poem has, or the fact that it was written at such
an early time in history. He instead explains that it would still have power had it
been written in some time or place unknown and without posterity, if it contained
no name that could now be recognized (Tolkien 20). This passage summarize his
thesis that Beowulf s importance is often misrepresented. Tolkien s inspiration and
passion for the poem comes from how it s preserved from a day already changing
and passing, a time that has now for ever vanished, swallowed in oblivion (Tolkien
20). Tolkien s use of Anglo Saxon history in The Lord of the Rings was a way to
revive the culture so it would not be lost. In this essay, Tolkien is highlighting this
point, explaining that Beowulf continues to preserve the rich culture of Old England
due to it s aesthetic qualities and profound appeal (Tolkien
How Far Was James Successful in Dealing with the

Throughout James reign, religion, especially Puritanism was kept respectably under

religious prejudice and aimed to please both Catholics and protestants; introducing the

For many years, James puritan success continued and all were content, until
however, the year 1618 when things seemed to be heading for a dip in the practice
of worship and policy. During this year, James had reason to believe a new policy

. This idea came to him whilst travelling down the country on return from Scotland.
He received the impression that people felt the country had slipped too far puritan
and were being deprived of any concept of fun. On his arrival back in London, his
first priority was to loosen the strict puritan practices which had been implicated,
alternatively imposing the Book of Sports . This was a bad move on James part as
it caused puritans to grow in frustration and anger, leading them to believe James was
leaning towards Catholicism. His Jacobean compromise was now on the road to
breakdown.
The Book of Sports also uncovered another concern of the Protestants which had been
silently heating up over recent years. This was formed from their opposition toward
the proposed Spanish match. Although religious control was maintained, it caused
James to become somewhat lazy in terms of considering the puritans frustration and
deemed rejection. James had become so obsessed in succeeding with the plan of a
Spanish match that it had jeopardised his succession among

Opposite to popular belief, speed must be maintained at a high level to prevent
fatal accidents from occurring. The idea behind this is that when drivers are
unable to hold their high speed, cars tend to bunch up in certain areas of the track,
such as corners. When cars bunch up, and the space between cars starts to
minimize, risk for accidents and impacts with other drivers maximize. NASCAR
tracks use banking, The degree of incline present on the racing surface at each
track, to help a car s downforce and velocity through a turn, while minimizing
lateral slip (Hansen). Banking is present at every NASCAR sanctioned track, but
the degree of banking varies from speedway to speedway. The steepest banking
occurs at the corners of each track but straightaways have a slight degree of
banking as well. Drivers keep the pedal mashed to the floor during straightaways
and the higher the banking, the more of that speed they are able to carry into the
corner and the quicker they are able to return to the gas. Talladega Superspeedway
is the steepest of all tracks where NASCAR holds national series events, where the
main turns are pitched at a robust 33 degrees. Conversely, New Hampshire Motor
Speedway has a slight 7 degree banking, which is relatively flat. Stock cars are able
to travel at speeds upwards of 200 miles per hour at Talladega Superspeedway while
at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, can only
London Heathrow Airport
London Heathrow Airport. London s Heathrow is one of the world s busiest
airports. It is used by over 90 airlines flying to 170 destinations worldwide. The
airport has five passenger terminals and a cargo terminal. In the 1950s, Heathrow
had six runways, now it has just two parallel runways running east west. Heathrow
has witnessed strong growth over recent decades, currently handling 68 million
passengers and 477,000 flights a year compared to around 48 million passengers
and 427,000 flights a year in 1996. In the absence of any increase in runway
capacity, this growth has resulted in Heathrow s runways operating at around 99%
capacity compared to its main European competitors which operate at around 75%

Technological improvements are vital to improving fuel efficiency and reducing
CO2 emissions. There have already been significant changes over the last decades in
the efficiency of aircraft, which are today 70 per cent more efficient than the first
commercial jets. The cost of aviation fuel has provided a strong incentive to operators
and manufacturers to increase efficiency. This, together with a need to meet
internationally agreed aircraft standards related to emissions and noise, has resulted
in British aerospace companies investing a significant percentage of their annual
research and development budgets on environmental technologies. The next
generation of aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A350 and
Bombardier C Series, are 20% more fuel efficient per passenger kilometer than
current generation aircraft. This is primarily achieved through more fuel efficient
engines and lighter airframes and supporting structures made of composite materials
but is also achieved through more aerodynamic shapes, winglets, a one piece
fuselage and more advanced computer systems for optimizing routes and loading of
the aircraft. Route optimization is another way to reduce CO2 emissions. Currently,
air traffic corridors that aircraft are forced to follow place unnecessary detours on an
aircraft s route forcing higher fuel burn and an increase in emissions. An improved
Air Traffic Management System with more direct routes and optimized cruising
Compare And Contrast Rome And Carthage
Rome and Carthage were the preeminent cities in the western Mediterranean
governed by two different models. Rome was a Republic, founded in 509 BCE, and
was a land power, building her strength on the mighty legions after having
consolidated the other Italian city states under her hegemony. Cartage was founded in
750 BCE, and it was a Phoenician colony that had a significant power by eventual
expansion, although this strength rested on the skill of the Carthaginian fleets.
Carthagewas a maritime power, expanding power through trade and commerce.
Rome was a form of government that had intellectual descendant from the Greeks

Upon Sexton By Society
upon Sexton by society. In the first stanza of three, Sexton ignites the theme of
isolation for the persona, who is a possessed witch (Sexton 1), haunting the black
air (2) and dreaming evil (3) while a lonely thing, twelve fingered, out of mind (5).
Sexton s descriptions of the deranged persona as well as her actions emphasizes the
witch s alienation and separation from society (Constantakis) or unconventional
nature. Sexton s first stanza radiates her ...magic of words with which to transform
even the calmest and most orderly of suburban lawns into a landscape of both
nightmare and vision (McCabe) as the witchery imagery depicts the speaker s explicit
sexuality and sense of identity. The witchcraftmaterial in the poem is informed...

The speaker is a possessed witch , isolated and disparate from the conventional
woman expected from society. The mad woman witch is haunting the black air,
braver at night (Sexton 2), she desires the darkness in order for her to remain
hidden from the judgemental creatures of her stereotypical environment
(Albright). While dreaming evil, [she] [has] done [her] hitch/ over the plain
houses, light by light (Sexton 2 3), the speaker fascinates over evil thoughts which
men and other women would consider undesirable as well as an atrocity to
womanhood. She comfortably wanders the night sky over the suburban
community and the traditional houses where average and socially acceptable
people live, light by light ; her nighttime wanderings are the persona s temporary
escape from oppression. The persona s alienation is portrayed and emphasized as
she is described as a lonely thing, twelve fingered, out of mind (Sexton 5). She is
lonely and isolated due to her twelve fingered abnormal self. She is out of mind ,
or deranged, and is separated from society from her lack of conformity in result of
her flawed nature. A woman like that is not a woman, quite (Sexton 6), and according

Relationships in the House of Spirits
This essay will be going through the different types of love, and the power that
they wield. Throughout the novel, different characters hold different powers of
love. First, Clara s love towards Ferula and Pedro Segundo will be discussed. And
second, Esteban s obsessiveness with Clara will be looked at closer. The bonds of love
are stronger in relationships that aren t acceptable compared to relationships that are
acceptable in society. Clara possesses two different types of loves that are portrayed
very strong within this novel for; Ferula Trueba, and Pedro Segundo. The
relationships for these people were not acceptable within this society. Clara s
relationship with Ferula is very strong, it is more of a friendship relationship, then it...

Not only did he become lonely because of Clara leaving, but also because everyone
had left. No one he cared for was around anymore. Overall, Esteban needed to hold
his frustration to himself, and not take it out on others. If he had done that, it
could ve saved a lot of relationships for himself. It could ve saved his relationship
with Clara, Ferula and also his daughter since she had left with Clara. Some may
say, that Clara also had romantic feelings towards Ferula, because of always being
with Ferula instead of Esteban, however this is not true, only Ferula had romantic
feelings for Clara. Ferula was the one who went to the church to confess her
feelings for Clara, I can t sleep at night... Sometimes I tiptoe in and watch her while
she sleeps. She looks like an angel. I want to climb into bed with her and feel the
warmth of her skin and her gentle breathing. (Allende 99) It may seem that both
Clara and Ferula shared the same feelings, especially after Ferula died, and Clara
took care of her instead of Ferula taking care of

Creation is when the process of bringing something into existence using ideas and
designs, it involves the actual making of the product. If the production process had
no actual creation there would be no final product, so it is an important part of the
process where the design of the product is put into making and become the final
product for use and testing purposes.
Implementation is including new ideas and designs into projects and existing
designs to help further them in all ways, implementation also means to put
something into action, people use implementation to try and achieve targets and
goals when something is failing for example, a cereal company such as Kellogg s
may be doing bad in the market in terms of sales of their cereal boxes so try and
help this issue they could implement a toy which would come with the cereal, this
would attract more people to buy the cereal, if there was no implementation into any
projects or designs then there would be no new ideas to further the original idea.
Testing is when you check for faults, take measures to check quality, look at

My Mother Was A Military Brat
My grandmother once said, or at least I am told she once said, that she was
concerned that my father should not marry my mother because she had no roots.
My mother was a military brat. The longest she s ever lived anywhere is seven
years. She makes no bones about the fact that she doesn t know where she s from.
Like the planes my grandfather worked on, my mother was a child of the wind,
going here and there, and wherever destiny took her. I suppose my grandmother
would say the same thing about me. I am a missionary s child, taken wherever the
call of God took my family. I didn t grow up in just one place, therefore I have no
roots. It s a very Southern concept, having roots, and is as sacred to the Heart of
Dixie as sweet tea and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But even if that misfortune should befall them, they are still in the same spot they
were planted in.
I am like a bird. My roots are confined to one area. My egg hatched in Auburn, and
since then I have collected roots Auburn, Roanoke, Quito,Temuco, Santiago,
Cullman, Florence, and Killen, and have woven them all into a nest that is
currently nestled in the branches of Killen. My roost don t trap me in one spot. I
am free to fly wherever without hesitation, and if I so desire, bring back some leaves,
or branches, or even more roots from the places I visit.
At some point I m sure a storm of life, or an unexpected gust of wind will blow me
out of Killen s tree. So I ll glide where the wind takes me, and rebuild my nest in a
new tree with new roots.
I m sure my grandmother thinks her little bird is an unstable wreck, and in some
ways I am. My ADHD and scattered brains have turned me into quite the character.
The payoff is worth it though. Why watch the seasons slip by the same old burrow
when you can soar to the heavens and gaze upon the whole world?
I ll always have my nest to come back to, and with each blustery, windy trip to a new
tree, my nest of roots grows bigger and grander.
My senior year.

ordinary day.
Kids laugh, talk, gossip, make out, throw paper wads; nothing is different.

The Reliability Of Eyewitness Testimony
There are many different factors that play a part in the increased chance of a witness
correctly identifying a suspect. Such factors should be brought to the attention of the
jury and the judge to help in properly assessing whether a witness is correctly
identifying a suspect. A study by Magnussen, Melinder, Stridbeck, Raja (2010) found
that of the three different types of people: judge, jury, and general public, that for the
most part all where fairly ill informed on the reliability of eyewitness testimony
with judges having the most. Judges only had about an 8% difference in knowledge
when compared to jurors. With this information it is very clear that education on the
reliability of eyewitness testimony needs to become more of a general knowledge
information for the everyone, especially people who are involved in upholding the
law. Another factor to look into when evaluating the accuracy eyewitness testimony
is the role that memory plays. Memory is divided into three processes: perceiving,
remembering, and recalling information (Simmonsen, 2013). There is plenty of
room in all three of those stages to forget or falsely remember something. Some
factors that play a part when a person perceives an event is the amount of time they
are exposed to the event and the suspect. A study conducted by Horry, Halford,
Brewer, Milne, Bull. (2014) found that witnesses were increasingly more likely to
correctly identify a suspect if they had been exposed to the suspect for sixty
Application Treatment Options For Diseases
Available treatment options for diseases are limited by our knowledge. At the local
hospice center, where I volunteered 2 years, these limitations were evident. The
majority of my clients were disadvantaged due to a lack of treatment options. The
limitations I saw firsthand instigated my pursual of research to explore an in depth
relationship between disease and host.
My interest in host pathogen interactions started when I found a strong relationship
between my Microbiology and Human Physiology courses the fall of 2013. For
example, while I was learning about the bacteria Clostridium botulinum in
Microbiology, I was also learning about the nervous system in Human Physiology. In
Microbiology we learned that Clostridium botulinum releases neurotoxins that
interfere with neuron signaling, leading to muscle paralysis. The course did not go
into depth about how the neurotoxins cause paralysis, but I was able to piece
together how it would affect the nervous system through what I learned about
neuronal signaling in Human Physiology. These classes prompted me to enroll in
the Microbiology Laboratory course where I worked with my peers to plan and
execute an experiment of our combined interests the effects of varying glucose levels
on oral microbes. These classes and Microbiology Lab allowed me the opportunity to
explore my interest in the microbe host relationship and galvanized my curiosity to
host defense mechanisms.
In the winter of 2014, I decided to advance my knowledge of
Alien Conspiracy Theory Research Paper
Alien Conspiracy Theory is a theory that blames outsiders and outside influences
for the prevalence of organized crime in U.S. Society. It as well is one of the
strongest held theories of organized crime still today. There are different theories as
well as strongly held. The reason I chose to stick with Alien Conspiracy Theoryis
because of it s on and off debates and I find it very interesting.
As you may know, The Mafia and La Costa Nostra are the major foundations of
organized crimes in the United States. They were known to have earned their
standing during the
1860s when they migrated from Sicily, which is in Italy. La Cosa Nostra is made up
of about 25
Italian dominated crime families. The members are dominated of men and is said that
there are about 1,700 members. Of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The study of organized crime has always been shaped by ethnicity. Ethnicity is also a
key to the alien conspiracy theory of the organized crime phenomenon. Whenever the
subject of organized crime arises, people in general assume and think of Italians,
Russians, and
Chinese organized crime, mostly Italian. There has been evidence that suggests
many organized crime groups consists of persons of a specific ethnic background
who cooperate on a regular basis. But there is a study by Haller s from the
enterprises of Lansky s and Capone s which try to make clear that organized
criminals who wish to survive and thrive to quickly learn and proceed to form
profitable partnerships on the foundation of rational business decisions and common
needs.
ALIEN CONSPIRACY THEORY 4
There are many contradictions to the whole belief of alien conspiracy theory. Their
belief is that there was already well developed organized crime way before the
immigration of Italians in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. So if they were a
major stone in the creation of organized crime then they were just merging and
expanding to an already developed corruption

This term has been in use in the computer industry at least since the early 1960s.
The form, design and implementation of CPUs have changed dramatically since the
earliest examples, but their fundamental operation remains much the same. Early
CPUs were custom designed as a part of a larger, sometimes one of a kind, and
computer. However, this costly method of designing custom CPUs for a particular
application has largely given way to the development of mass produced processors
that are made for one or many purposes. This standardization trend generally began
in the era of discrete transistor mainframes and mini computers and has rapidly
accelerated with the popularization of the integrated circuit (IC). The IC has allowed
increasingly complex CPUs to be designed and manufactured to tolerances on the
order of nanometers. Both the miniaturization and standardization of CPUs have
increased the presence of these digital devices in modern life far beyond the limited
application of dedicated computing machines. Modern Microprocessors appear in
everything from automobiles to cell phones and children s toys. Fig:3 Diagram of

Witch Crazy Essay
In England, during the 15th and 16th centuries, the previously underground and
ignored practice of witchcraft became an offense that was punishable by death.
Women were the majority of the citizens who were tried for the crime of witchcraft.
The belief that they were given their supernatural powers by the devil and aimed to
crush all Christian values and people caused their excessive persecution.1 This paper

James blamed witchcraft on the incident involving his ship because he thought
witches were trying to kill him.4 King James was not only ruler of England, but
was also considered a scholar with published scholarly works. In 1597, he
published his written documents called Daemonologie. According to King James
the arguments for suspected witchcraft were, By knitting sundry kinds of herbs to
the hair or tails of the goods; by curing the worm, by stemming of blood, by healing
of horse crooks or doing of such like innumerable things by words, without applying
anything meet to the part offended, as mediciners do. 5 The King obviously
considered himself an expert on witchcraft and he believed that these activities were
the hallmarks of a witch whose mission was to harm others. Author Ankarloo writer
of Witchcraft and Magic in Europe, believes that the witch trials in Edinburgh
influenced heavily on King James when writing his work, and that God made him a
judge in witchcraft issues.6 These documents explain King James s fear of witches
and why he felt they should be eradicated from the earth was because of their bond
with Satan. The document is, in my opinion, a justification by James to gather
support for his witch hunt crusade. Reginald Scot, an Englishman born in 1538 had
been observing the witch trials that were common during
We Wear The Mask Personification
In the poem We Wear the Mask, author Paul Laurence Dunbar uses figurative
language in many instances. Personification, one of the figures of speech most used
by Dunbar, can be seen continuously throughout his poem. For instance, in the first
line of the first stanza, Dunbar uses personification when he writes We wear the mask
that grins and lies because the mask is portraying human like qualities. The mask
represents how the subjects of the poem, African Americans, display a physical image
that completely differs from what they really feel mentally and emotionally. Despite
the misery and despair that they underwent during the time in which this poem was
written, which was in the late 1800 s, African Americans demonstrated an image of

The same number of syllables are used in a grand majority of his lines, which
maintain a steady rhythm all throughout the piece in this case, it s 8 syllables per
line. Dunbar, by using a clear tone of both anger and sadness in his poem, makes it
notable that he is also an African American who has to hide his emotions behind
the mask . Apart from the tone he uses, Dunbar also uses the pronoun we which
automatically informs the reader that he s included in the group of people he s
writing about. He makes his rage at having to hide his true emotions well known in
the beginning of the poem, as well as his despair at the end of the poem when he
states that the world will dream while continuing to wear the mask . In other words,
he says that they will remain hopeful while continuing to hide their sadness behind a
fake smile. Dunbar s overall statement in We Wear the Mask is that these African
Americans, including himself, not once revealed all of the sadness, anger, and agony
they went through; they simply smiled and faked their happiness while they were
anguished and hurting inside, probably to avoid provoking conflict with Caucasian
groups of people. The purpose of this title was to inform the reader of the
exasperating struggle African Americans had to endure during this period of time due
to race inequality, all in a total of three stanzas and 15

Marginal Utility Theory, Product Differentiation, and...
Apply the concepts of marginal utility theory, product differentiation, and revenue
/profit maximization to some event in your personal, daily lives. [1] Marginal Utility
Concept Application From the three concepts at hand this is by far the easiest to
exemplify. According to Sloman and Sutcliffe the concept of utility is directly related
to that of satisfaction [2]. The satisfaction that one individual takes from consuming
something is called utility. Now when we consider the utility concept we must
differentiate first between total utility and marginal utility. Total utility is the total
satisfaction that one individual gets from consuming all the units of one same thing
during a specific timeframe. ie. We can analyze the... Show more content on

I remember this CV . It immediately drew to my attention that he had paid extra
attention to my CV as I included on it that I was undertaking an MBA and
planning to finish my dissertation by Aug 2007. That was definitely a
differentiator in my job application. Revenue/Profit Maximization Concept
Application The Profit Maximization Concept was the most complex of the three
concepts for me to actually understand. The argument that there is a very simple
profit maximizing rule: if profits are to be maximized, MR [Marginal Revenue]
must equal MC [Marginal Cost] [5] took me a bit longer than usual to decode.
What bugged me was that this is based on the fact that price goes down for every
unit we produce extra (demand and supply rule apply here) as there is more of the
product to be offered in the market, meaning that we can only sell more if we bring
our price down which is not the case. Now after having understood the concept, if I
had to redo the concept to be presented to non financials I would say there is an
even simpler profit maximizing rule: if profits are to be maximized it is so in the
point where marginal profit is higher. After understanding the charts and the tables
one realizes that that happens at MR=MC and then can go break his head learning
that concept. Now as an example I can relate this in a way to something that I have

  • 2. The American Musical And Dramatic New York Ethan Brittingham The American Musical and Dramatic Academy New York Group: E4 When I took my first bow on a stage, I knew that wanted to peruse the performing arts as a permanent career. I was so pleased with myself that I finally found a place where I belong. As I have grown as a performer, I have learned that performing is not just reciting lines in front of an audience but creating a picture with words. There is a technique behind acting and many have come to known this as method , method acting , or the Stanislavski method . Theater began in Ancient Greece with masks movement stylized specifically towards one character. Some styles of theatre may have changed throughout the centuries and countries, but they were still built upon the early Greek life. However, in everyday life, we do not behave in suck a way they Greeks or the Romans did back then. Stanislavski pushed actors to find ways to demonstrate reality while being able to project. Have you ever people watched at an airport or an event? This idea helped Stanislavski create the next element, Observation. Observation can help an actor shift through different emotions and portray different people. Stanislavski was the ultimate people watcher. He encouraged his students to observe humans and animals in their everyday life to see how they react around each other as well as daily activities. This not only helps the actor portray these actions on stage, but it also makes the actor more aware of why they are doing the action. After studying pedestrians around him, Stanislavski would often disguise himself as a peasant or an old man, and interact with the citizens of his town to gather their reactions and create a better understanding of humans. Every person is unique. Stanislavski saw this and noticed that every character should have unique traits. Some of which can be created by observing others in their
  • 3. Difference Between Formal And Less Formal Writing Morphology Analysis: Formal vs Less Formal Writing Word choice in writing is influenced by the context, just as is the case between formal speeches and informal ones. The kind of words in formal and less formal writing gravitates between academic and formal, depending on the context and the message being put across. The morphemes used in both formal (academic) and less formal (as is the case in newspapers), vary. Formal writing uses different word forms and morphemes, due to the strict nature of this kind of written communication. Less formal writing moves between using a lot of morphemes and still maintaining a certain level of formality, so as to communicate effectively. In some instances, less formal writing may even use colloquial language and a lot of morphemes. In this discussion, the focus is on an academic form of writing and a less formal kind of writing, picked from a newspaper. The discussion shall analyze how morphemes have been used in the two kinds of writing and why this is the case. The first writing is a Classroom Research, which is just an introduction of the research and sets the tone for the rest of the paper. The sentences are short and use few adjectives, as the journal work seeks to strictly communicate facts and avoid the introduction of personal opinions. • 7. The Tax Reform Act Of 1997 There are only two things assured in this world: death and taxes. Whether you re a corporate employee or an entrepreneur, you will have to pay your taxes. For every entrepreneur, taxation is a very crucial factor in their financial investment s decision making process because the lower the tax burden the higher the revenue which equivalently paid out in forms of wages and salaries or dividends (Lynn, 2015). The word tax comes from the latin word taxo which means I estimate. It varies from different countries and how they are paid. In the Philippines, taxes can be grouped to national taxes and local taxes. National taxes are those based on the Tax Reform Act of 1997 also known as the Republic Act No. 8424. The Tariff and Custom Code of the Philippines which levied the import and export tariffs (Republic Act No. 1937) may be considered as a national government tax. • 8. A Woman s Name Of The Kopp Chronicles Chapter One February 23, 1843, 10 years before the events of An Immigrant American, Volume 1 of the Kopp Chronicles. Suddenly, the door of the carriage flung open, as it pulled up to the doors of the Mannheim Palace on an early and cold February morning in 1843. Karolina, I am so glad you are here! A young woman with brown disheveled hair said frantically as she burst into tears. I thought you would never get here. I don t know what to do with my hair, and my mother needs help with the wedding, and they will be here any moment! Please hurry and come with me! She sobbed and ran toward the doors of the palace. Karolina Sorg, a pretty seventeen year old girl, and her mother Theresia surprised at the sudden stop of the carriage and the loud outburst quickly recovered. They stepped out of the carriage and followed her, breaking with all proper decorum as they entered the palace. The woman s name was Princess Marie Amelie Elisabeth Karoline of Baden and that evening she was marrying the Marquess of Hamilton, son of the Duke of Hamilton. The previous day, her mother had sent an urgent message to Theresia to come to the palace and help with last minute wedding preparations. She also suggested Theresia bring her daughter with her to help the princess. Karolina and Theresia traveled overnight by carriage and by train all the way to Mannheim from the small village of Sulz, in the Grand Duchy of Baden, a distance of over 160 kilometers. When they arrived early in the morning at the
  • 9. Hair Can Act As A Symbol Of Self And Group Identity Hairstyles often act as ways to identify cultures since they are both public (visible to others) and personal (linked to the body biologically, personally molded to suit cultural and personal preferences) women s hairstyles can be central to their social positions (Synnott 1987). Hair can act as both a symbol of self and group identity as well as a form of self expression and communication. I was recently listening to India Arie s I Am Not My Hair and it reminded me of several occasions where those around me in addition to my self have had our self confidence shaken due to the importance that our society puts on a woman s hair. In Arie s song she points out in her lyrics that in today s world Good hair means curls and waves and that Bad hair means [that] you look like a slave. The concept of conventional attractiveness, looking like the ideal partner, can lend itself to forms of power that women face internally and externally. Women that are conventionally attractive are typically not as lonely, very popular, experience higher rates of marriage, have more experience sexually, are more likely to marry men of a higher socioeconomic status and are more likely to be hired, promoted and paid a higher salary than non attractive women (Jackson 1992, Sullivan 2001, Weitz 2010). They can be some of the most experienced people due to moving to different places every few years and adapting to the culture. Military brats are usually children that comes from a military family. Meaning that one of their parents or both are serving in the military, usually active duty members. They can be male or female and mostly under the age of eighteen, and it does not matter what their race is. One formal norm that is part of a military brat is their behavior. It had happened before, during the 2011 Federal government shutdown, with similar results. In a profession where every decision can mean life or death, low morale must be seriously considered. Even without the past job insecurity issues, air traffic controllers in general feel under appreciated: they work long and stressful hours and are often asked to put in overtime. NextGen, the highly touted satellite based air traffic control system, might also negatively affect employee morale. Although not currently publicized as such by the FAA, NextGen if properly implemented could bring about efficiencies in air traffic management such that fewer controllers would be required. Thus, in the coming decades, downsizing might be a real threat to the ATC controller s job security. The FAA talks around the edges of these traffic management efficiencies: FAA webpages and documents mention, but don t fully analyze the possibility of non staffed towers and hub like control centers. One FAA study in 2013 indicated once NextGen is operational, 187 enroute centers and TRACONS might be consolidated into just 51 facilities, saving the FAA between $310 to $680 million a year (Harrison, 2013). Although the report doesn t specify, the obvious assumption is that much of the savings would come from the FAA s payroll accounts. The most recent FAA Controller Workforce Plan is basically silent in regards to the implications of NextGen (TRB, 2014). The FAA says that current staffing is based upon the current plan of operations which apparently does not include NextGen (FAA 2015a). This seems surprising in light of the fact that the FAA has no trouble staffing to predicted air traffic numbers, but does not plan for the impacts of NextGen on

  • 14. Major Causes Of The First Crusades The First Crusade was the start of mass religious persecution in Europe. The crusade focused on violent subjection of non Christians like Jews and Muslims lead by the order of Pope Urban II. Urban II made a call to arms against many against the Muslims stating that they must wrest that land from the wicked race, and subject it to yourselves (332). This entailed that anyone who was not Christian was part of this wicked race , and that those who didn t believe in the holiness of Christ was to be either converted or eradicated. This is how the persecution of Jews came to place along with that of Muslim belief. The Jews, who had amassed a large following in the Rhineland, were seen as a much as a problem as the Muslims that the First Crusadeswere focused on due to the fact that they were close to home. This lead them to be included in these crusades. The question at hand was why the perspectives of Christians towards non Christians led them to violent action against Muslims and Jews? A major factor that lead to the First Crusadewas the presence of a Turkish threat in the Asia Minor. The Seljuk Turks had a strong presence already and after the capture of Baghdad, they created pressure for the Byzantine Empire. After a disastrous attempt to impede the looming Turkish forces with a mercenary army of Franks, Normans, and Slavs that led to the capture of emperor Romanus IV, the Byzantines lost their control over the region. • 15. Character Analysis Of Mael Lang With its uncomplicated moral for parents to look after their children, M (Lang, 1931), the film that Fritz Lang himself considered his best artwork, reveals the story of Hans Beckert, the man whose perverted desires turned him into a pedophile and a serial killer. As the story goes, Fritz Lang exposes and juxtaposes two personalities hidden in Beckert the maniac, the personality that the director integrates into the movie first, without showing the murderer s face, and the paranoiac who is scared of his urgencies but is too weak to resist them. Such scenes as Beckert s examination of his face in the mirror while the police secretary describes the traits of the maniac, the maniac s transformation as he sees the new potential victim and his attempt to hold his wrath, and the trial expose different traits of the Beckert s personality, giving his character more complexity than just a label serial killer . The blocking, setting of the scenes, and sound design help to reveal Beckert s nature through the film and to built the tense and mystique atmosphere around him, drawing the spectator s attention away from the issue of the murdered children to the development of the villain s character. To drive the spectators empathy to the specific characters, Fritz Lang uses blocking to reveal Beckert s personality as full as possible, juxtaposing his two conflicted personalities. For example, when Hans Beckert talks to Elsie, he sounds rather depressed than attractive or seductive,

The experience curve is an idea developed by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in the mid 1960s. Working with a leading manufacturer of semiconductors, the consultants noticed that the company s unit cost of manufacturing fell by about 25% for each doubling of the volume that it produced. This relationship they called the experience curve: the more experience a firm has in producing a particular product, the lower are its costs. Instead of sending a message by postal mail, using email or fax can deliver it instantaneously. Technology can also speed up various manufacturing processes, as machines and computers can do work that was once performed by humans more quickly and efficiently. Drawback: Dependency On the downside, the use of technology doesn t always result in greater efficiency. Companies that depend heavily on computer systems to conduct business can come to a virtual standstill if the system breaks down. There is typically a learning curve that accompanies the introduction of a new process, which can lead to a loss in productivity and disgruntled employees. For employees who telecommute and experience computer problems, it may be more difficult to receive timely technical support. This war to oppose Napoleon would last until 1815, by which time the British would be victorious. This triumphant British army, although successful throughout their campaign with the French, was not openly considered a humble and advantageous force for society. In fact, the common stereotype and popular image of the British soldierwas negative, as the Duke of Wellington stated the soldiers were the scum of the earth who have all enlisted to drink .1 For the majority of the soldiers, this label was given inappropriately and carelessly. The Autobiography of Sergeant William Lawrence, a British soldier who fought in the Peninsula and Waterloo Campaigns during his fourteen year military career, offers an insight into the lives of the labelled soldiers and interpretation of whether this label can be deemed accurate. The idea of the British soldier as a drunken brute is inaccurate. The men who enlisted to fight against Napoleon were more often than not forced to do so out of economic necessity. Soldiers delinquencies seemed to many contemporaries to be the unavoidable result of the type of men who enlisted. 2 The British army was made from voluntary enlistment, and this was thought to have produced a body of army that was inferior in both character and discipline to the past British armies. Why might this be? Family vacations used to be the go to trip for any given time to travel, but as generations advance the destinations of holiday vacations have evolved alongside society. The mindset of the world today has caused people to reject traditional holiday vacations for new experiences. These new experiences can range anywhere from going to exotic places like Jamaica to Greece to just staying home. There is a reason for all of this change, such as the lack of financial stability, the increase in technology and social media, and different kinds of people with their diverse views. Traveling is expensive, and financial issues have begun to cause the downfall of most vacations. People cannot afford to go and see their family, so they stay home on vacations known as staycations. These staycations are a new experience for a lot of people because they are not going anywhere on their vacation time, which is unusual for them. One reason for this is that student loans have gone up tremendously in recent years and before people can worry about going on vacation, they must pay back these debts. These loans can last a lifetime, and instead of worrying about them forever they postpone their vacations, so

The importance of music is vast and affects every individual in a multitude of ways. Throughout the course of history, there have been artist that have changed the face of music as we know it. Two important composers to the course of music s history are Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Liszt. While both composers certainly have similarities in their music, there are also multiple differences that separate them as completely different artists. Ludwig van Beethoven was born around December 16th in 1770 in the city of Bonn. His father, Johann van Beethoven was a singer and terrible alcoholic. He was locked in a cellar, flogged, and made to practice for hours upon hours. He was also beaten for any mistakes made while playing piano. Beethoven s father hoped he would be a musical child prodigy just like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. When Beethoven turned the age of ten, he dropped out of school to pursue studying music full time. When his father s health began to decay due to his alcoholism, Beethoven began to work in order to support his family. He worked as an Assistant Court Organist. Ludwig van Beethoven was sent to Vienna to study music further, but returned home when his mother became ill. Self-Moralism And Social Criticism In Jane Addams Jane Addams wanted the mind of women to be valued and mirrored through the actions of individuals seeking to use emotions of empathy and feeling of duty rather than self interest. She joined the growing pool of criticism of Social Darwinism not because of its scientific weaknesses, but rather due to its center principal of anti morality. She refused to accept its masculine ideals of physical dominance to serve self interest and its ranking of materialism. Without doubt, one of her most stringent and remembered points of social criticism was targeted at paternalism. She routinely exposed the motives behind 19th century philanthropists who attempted to do good to people rather than to do good with them . Once again, her target of criticism is the male centered way of thinking that was pertinent in her time, due to the fact that it was overwhelmingly focused on placing oneself ahead of another person and attempting to force yourself onto them because you feel that your way of handling the situation is better than those who are experiencing the hardship you are attempting to amend in the first place. She wanted less of a paternal mindset and more of a maternal one that is categorized by empathetic collaboration instead of domination. Addams viewed new groups of immigrants as a welcomed force into urban American society. Her ideology on race, which can be described as pluralist, was fitting toward a strategy of reform that took aim at socioeconomic conditions that were far too

When analyzing the influence of the Old English poem, it is important to understand Tolkien s perspective on the poem which explains why it had such a major impact on his life and his writing. In his piece Beowulf: The Monsters and the Critics Tolkien explains that his love for the poem is based upon the style and beauty of the poem. He states that Beowulf should be known world wide due to how the monster s and dragons are depicted, or its everlasting quality. In his final paragraph Tolkien tosses aside the historical value that the poem has, or the fact that it was written at such an early time in history. He instead explains that it would still have power had it been written in some time or place unknown and without posterity, if it contained no name that could now be recognized (Tolkien 20). This passage summarize his thesis that Beowulf s importance is often misrepresented. Opposite to popular belief, speed must be maintained at a high level to prevent fatal accidents from occurring. The idea behind this is that when drivers are unable to hold their high speed, cars tend to bunch up in certain areas of the track, such as corners. When cars bunch up, and the space between cars starts to minimize, risk for accidents and impacts with other drivers maximize. NASCAR tracks use banking, The degree of incline present on the racing surface at each track, to help a car s downforce and velocity through a turn, while minimizing lateral slip (Hansen). Banking is present at every NASCAR sanctioned track, but the degree of banking varies from speedway to speedway. The steepest banking occurs at the corners of each track but straightaways have a slight degree of banking as well. There have already been significant changes over the last decades in the efficiency of aircraft, which are today 70 per cent more efficient than the first commercial jets. The cost of aviation fuel has provided a strong incentive to operators and manufacturers to increase efficiency. This, together with a need to meet internationally agreed aircraft standards related to emissions and noise, has resulted in British aerospace companies investing a significant percentage of their annual research and development budgets on environmental technologies. The next generation of aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A350 and Bombardier C Series, are 20% more fuel efficient per passenger kilometer than current generation aircraft. This is primarily achieved through more fuel efficient engines and lighter airframes and supporting structures made of composite materials but is also achieved through more aerodynamic shapes, winglets, a one piece fuselage and more advanced computer systems for optimizing routes and loading of the aircraft. Route optimization is another way to reduce CO2 emissions. Currently, air traffic corridors that aircraft are forced to follow place unnecessary detours on an aircraft s route forcing higher fuel burn and an increase in emissions. Such factors should be brought to the attention of the jury and the judge to help in properly assessing whether a witness is correctly identifying a suspect. A study by Magnussen, Melinder, Stridbeck, Raja (2010) found that of the three different types of people: judge, jury, and general public, that for the most part all where fairly ill informed on the reliability of eyewitness testimony with judges having the most. Judges only had about an 8% difference in knowledge when compared to jurors. With this information it is very clear that education on the reliability of eyewitness testimony needs to become more of a general knowledge information for the everyone, especially people who are involved in upholding the law. Another factor to look into when evaluating the accuracy eyewitness testimony is the role that memory plays. Early CPUs were custom designed as a part of a larger, sometimes one of a kind, and computer. However, this costly method of designing custom CPUs for a particular application has largely given way to the development of mass produced processors that are made for one or many purposes. This standardization trend generally began in the era of discrete transistor mainframes and mini computers and has rapidly accelerated with the popularization of the integrated circuit (IC). The IC has allowed increasingly complex CPUs to be designed and manufactured to tolerances on the order of nanometers. Both the miniaturization and standardization of CPUs have increased the presence of these digital devices in modern life far beyond the limited application of dedicated computing machines. Modern Microprocessors appear in everything from automobiles to cell phones and children s toys. The control unit does not execute program instructions; rather, it directs other parts of the system to do so. The control
  • 52. Witch Crazy Essay In England, during the 15th and 16th centuries, the previously underground and ignored practice of witchcraft became an offense that was punishable by death. Women were the majority of the citizens who were tried for the crime of witchcraft. The belief that they were given their supernatural powers by the devil and aimed to crush all Christian values and people caused their excessive persecution.1 This paper will explain why most individuals accused of witchcraftin England were women and will be backed by primary sources from a variety of historical individuals and also secondary sources from various historical backgrounds. King James I was particularly interested in witchcraft and through his life changed his opinion about how those... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... James blamed witchcraft on the incident involving his ship because he thought witches were trying to kill him.4 King James was not only ruler of England, but was also considered a scholar with published scholarly works. In 1597, he published his written documents called Daemonologie. According to King James the arguments for suspected witchcraft were, By knitting sundry kinds of herbs to the hair or tails of the goods; by curing the worm, by stemming of blood, by healing of horse crooks or doing of such like innumerable things by words, without applying anything meet to the part offended, as mediciners do. 5 The King obviously considered himself an expert on witchcraft and he believed that these activities were the hallmarks of a witch whose mission was to harm others. Author Ankarloo writer of Witchcraft and Magic in Europe, believes that the witch trials in Edinburgh influenced heavily on King James when writing his work, and that God made him a judge in witchcraft issues.6 These documents explain King James s fear of witches and why he felt they should be eradicated from the earth was because of their bond with Satan. The document is, in my opinion, a justification by James to gather support for his witch hunt crusade. Reginald Scot, an Englishman born in 1538 had been observing the witch trials that were common during
  • 53. We Wear The Mask Personification In the poem We Wear the Mask, author Paul Laurence Dunbar uses figurative language in many instances. Personification, one of the figures of speech most used by Dunbar, can be seen continuously throughout his poem. For instance, in the first line of the first stanza, Dunbar uses personification when he writes We wear the mask that grins and lies because the mask is portraying human like qualities. The mask represents how the subjects of the poem, African Americans, display a physical image that completely differs from what they really feel mentally and emotionally. Despite the misery and despair that they underwent during the time in which this poem was written, which was in the late 1800 s, African Americans demonstrated an image of nothing... The same number of syllables are used in a grand majority of his lines, which maintain a steady rhythm all throughout the piece in this case, it s 8 syllables per line. Dunbar, by using a clear tone of both anger and sadness in his poem, makes it notable that he is also an African American who has to hide his emotions behind the mask . Apart from the tone he uses, Dunbar also uses the pronoun we which automatically informs the reader that he s included in the group of people he s writing about. He makes his rage at having to hide his true emotions well known in the beginning of the poem, as well as his despair at the end of the poem when he states that the world will dream while continuing to wear the mask . In other words, he says that they will remain hopeful while continuing to hide their sadness behind a fake smile. Dunbar s overall statement in We Wear the Mask is that these African Americans, including himself, not once revealed all of the sadness, anger, and agony they went through; they simply smiled and faked their happiness while they were anguished and hurting inside, probably to avoid provoking conflict with Caucasian groups of people. The purpose of this title was to inform the reader of the exasperating struggle African Americans had to endure during this period of time due to race inequality, all in a total of three stanzas and 15

Although, it is known as a Spanish country their minorities consist of European and African ancestry. Therefore, a lot of their geography is based off of this. Colombia is bordered by Panama and divides
  • 55. Marginal Utility Theory, Product Differentiation, and... Apply the concepts of marginal utility theory, product differentiation, and revenue /profit maximization to some event in your personal, daily lives. [1] Marginal Utility Concept Application From the three concepts at hand this is by far the easiest to exemplify. According to Sloman and Sutcliffe the concept of utility is directly related to that of satisfaction [2]. The satisfaction that one individual takes from consuming something is called utility. Now when we consider the utility concept we must differentiate first between total utility and marginal utility. Total utility is the total satisfaction that one individual gets from consuming all the units of one same thing during a specific timeframe. ie. We can analyze the... It immediately drew to my attention that he had paid extra attention to my CV as I included on it that I was undertaking an MBA and planning to finish my dissertation by Aug 2007. That was definitely a differentiator in my job application. Revenue/Profit Maximization Concept Application The Profit Maximization Concept was the most complex of the three concepts for me to actually understand. The argument that there is a very simple profit maximizing rule: if profits are to be maximized, MR [Marginal Revenue] must equal MC [Marginal Cost] [5] took me a bit longer than usual to decode. What bugged me was that this is based on the fact that price goes down for every unit we produce extra (demand and supply rule apply here) as there is more of the product to be offered in the market, meaning that we can only sell more if we bring our price down which is not the case. Now after having understood the concept, if I had to redo the concept to be presented to non financials I would say there is an even simpler profit maximizing rule: if profits are to be maximized it is so in the point where marginal profit is higher. After understanding the charts and the tables one realizes that that happens at MR=MC and then can go break his head learning that concept. Now as an example I can relate this in a way to something that I have
