Compare And Contrast Essay
Writing a compare and contrast essay can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the
task requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter and the ability to identify
meaningful similarities and differences between two or more topics. This involves extensive
research and critical thinking to ensure that the comparisons made are valid and insightful.
One of the difficulties lies in the organization of the essay. Creating a coherent structure that
effectively communicates the comparisons can be tricky. Striking the right balance between the
two elements is crucial, as an essay that focuses too much on similarities or differences may lose
its overall effectiveness.
Moreover, choosing the right topics for comparison adds another layer of complexity. It's
essential to select subjects that have enough in common to draw meaningful connections but also
possess significant differences that can be explored in depth.
The process of drafting the essay itself requires a thoughtful approach to language and
expression. Crafting clear and concise sentences that convey complex ideas is a skill that not
everyone possesses. Additionally, maintaining a logical flow throughout the essay is crucial for
the reader to follow and comprehend the comparisons being made.
Despite these challenges, writing a compare and contrast essay can be a valuable exercise in
analytical thinking and communication skills. It allows the writer to delve deep into the
intricacies of the chosen topics and present a well-argued perspective.
In conclusion, while writing a compare and contrast essay may pose certain difficulties, the
rewards lie in the development of critical thinking, research skills, and the ability to articulate
complex ideas. If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, remember that help is
available. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where
professional writers can assist you in navigating the complexities of academic writing.

English Essay Mister Pip
Analyse how contrast between characters helped the author communicate an
important message or idea.
Mister Pip written by Lloyd Jones is a novel recounted by the protagonist Matilda.
Set in 1990 s Bougainville, we see Matilda begin to question her Mother s
traditional idea s about life as a civil war rages between the rebels and the Redskins
in her homeland. Mr. Wattsor Pop eye is given the role teaching the village children,
being the only educated, and consequentially, white man left on the island. He begins
reading Great Expectations to the children and Matilda finds herself becoming
entranced in white civilisation. She gets immersed in the story of the white boy Pip
living in London in the 1800 s, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She continues to try and save her daughter, the power of unconditional love
overcoming their even more obviously marked differences.
Dolores then tries to impose her faith on Matilda in hope she will begin to value
God over Great Expectations to lead her away from the white world. Dolores
comes unannounced to Matilda s class and tries to educate the children on the only
thing she knows well: the importance of faith she didn t know anything outside
what she knew from the bible but as Mr. Watts gets further through the novel Pip
becomes yet even more important to Matilda. Dolores never stops in trying to steer
Matilda away from the white world. The world she knows barely anything about, the
world she thinks is evil. Despite their ever increasing differences Dolores will always
continue to protect Matilda from what she believes is bad.
We see the power of unconditional love shown again through Matilda and Dolores
s contrast when Matilda discovers Great Expectations to have been stolen by her
Mother. When Dolores hides Great Expectations much strife is caused. The Red
Skins visit Matilda s island, threatening to burn all of their possessions unless they
give up Pip who is only a character from a book and cannot be given up. Because the
book is not where it is supposed to be Pip cannot be explained. The redskins burn the
whole villages possessions because Dolores fails to come forward and admit to what
she had done in order to retrieve

Issues
The primary subject matter of this case concerns the issues faced in an U.S. company
with a large percentage of immigrant Latino workers and the resulting interaction with
their original Anglo workforce. There are numerous cultural misunderstandings in
this case study between Anglo and Latino workforce. The Human Resource
Department is unclear how to address the issues facing in the company.
The restroom
One of the cultural challenges that company is facing is soiled toilet paper scattered or

Therefore, Mexican workers tend to be very dedicated to their jobs. Mexicans do not
hesitate to go for the extra miles to work longer hours to make additional money to
support their family. One major cultural clash between Anglo Americans and
Mexicans are concept of timeliness. Punctuality is not big concern for Mexicans.
American culture featured promptness and timeliness; the Mexican culture could
care less. Mexicans believe their supervisors know everything and should always
show respect to authority and not ever questioning their supervisors and elderly
ever. It is considered disrespectful to question supervisors and elderly. Therefore, in
this case study, it is possible that Jose Alvarado could be a younger Latino manager.
So, that could explain why he is having trouble and difficulty to supervise his Latino
workers. Also, keeping a harmony relationship with their own fellows are also very
important to them. Therefore, it will be a challenge task for Alvarado to criticize his
fellow Latino workers. This could possibly be the reason why Alvarado is dissatisfied
with his new title. In the workplace, the cultural differences in terms of personal
sensitivity are the source of many, if not most, of the conflicts between Mexicans and
Americans. Americans, for the most part, are individualistic, competitive, and
comfortable working on their own. Americans think highly of personal initiative and
are self starters. When
Aristotle s Philosophy On The Morality Of War Essay
Throughout history, mankind have fought one another at great cost and for almost
as long as people have been waging war, people have been asking questions
surrounding the morality of war. In ancient Greece Aristotle raised a number of
ideals that he believed should be adhered to, he believed that war needed to be
regulated by a universal community under natural law. He also criticised the desire
to conquer as a valid means of going to war. His views where based on the stoic
tenants of virtue and reason. Aristotle s teaching began to gain traction again in
Europe during the 13th century, some of his teachings conflicted with the ideas of the
Catholic Church which at the time was a major political power. Thomas Aquinasin the
Summa Theologica began to combine the Church s ideals with that of Aristotle s
to present a picture of how war should be. In order for a war to be just, states need
to have the right motivations to go to war and they need to conduct themselves in
a moral way while at war. This idea of Just War has evolved over the years through
theorists such as Vitoria and has been criticised by others such as Erasmus. Now in
the 21st century we have a slightly different much more secularised view of Just war.
Political theorist Brian Orend, suggests that for a war to be truly just it must also
have an ethical end, states must have a valid exit strategy that doesn t leave the
country in chaotic ruins after the war. This essay will refer to numerous contemporary
Film Analysis of Twilight Samurai
Introdution
Twilight Samurai is a movie that revolves around the live of a samurai, years before
the Meiji Restoration. The main issues that the movie looked at include stereotype of
samurais, genders and social class differences. Unlike many typical samurai themed
movies which involve fighting, woman and pride, the director of Twilight Samurai
focused on the everyday life and difficulties faced by the main protagonist, Iguchi
Seibei.
His story was told by her daughter, Ito who narrated the whole movie. Therefore, it
can be said that this movie is based on the fond memories of her father. She was still
very young when these incidents happened which changed her father s life
irrevocably.
Samurai Stereotype
Unlike other samurais who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, the way Iguchi live his life tells me that if he is given a choice, he
would definitely choose not be born to be a samurai. Although samurais are
considered to be nobility, he would rather give up this prestigious title to be a
humble farmer. This goes to show that he is a rather unambitious man, to the point of
almost lackadaisical, leading a simple life of growing crops and seeing his precious
daughters grow up.
Whilst Iguchi was inside the house to fight Zenemon Yogo, Iguchi did not have the
desire to fight and kill him. Instead, he sat down and chatted with Zenemon and told
him that he could still run if he wants to. He was hesitant about fighting and even
lied that his sword was a bamboo but a fight still ensued in the end. This was different
from the typical samurai who would begin fighting and slaying his enemies upon
seeing them.
When Tomoe brought Kayano and Ito to a festival which can only be attended by the
peasants, she told them that had it not been for the peasants, there would not have
samurais. Tomoe s opinions are forward thinking and do not think that samurais
should be forbid from the festival.
Gender Inequality
In the movie, women are seen to be unimportant and should only be housewives.
While Iguchi encouraged his daughters to study hard, their great uncle commented
that girls do not need to

Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is a fun and challenging sport. A couple of years ago I was boating
with some friends when one of them pulled out something I had never seen before,
a wakeboard. In the past I had tried water skiing and kneeboarding, but until then I
had never heard of wakeboarding, I haven t picked up a water ski or kneeboard since
that day. A wakeboard is shaped a lot like a snowboard. It is 150 cm long and about
60 cm wide. Riding a wakeboard has been compared to surfing, skateboarding,
waterskiing, and snowboarding. At first I was nervous about learning a new
watersport at age 18, because I remembered how hard it was to get up one ski. My
friends convinced me to give it a try and I loved it. At ... Show more content on

complicated grab that I can currently land is starting the jump in the regular stance,

In Raymond Chandler s novel The Big Sleep, a private detective is trying to
unravel a blackmailing case for a dying millionaire, General Sternwood. Philip
Marlowe, the detective, finds that the case not only involves blackmail, but also
homicide. Set and written in 1930 s America, the economic devastation of the
Great Depression has a significant influence on the book s plot, and showcases
character s struggle to retain honor and virtue in a world that revolves around
profit seeking delinquency and organized corruption. Marlowe s work as a private
detective brings him face to face with criminals of every variety, and each
corresponds to a piece on the chessboard that appears repeatedly in the story.

Raymond Chandler uses his style efficiently in The Big Sleep. Chandler s style is
one that seems to come easily to him and it also seems very natural to the reader,
perhaps because there is not a lot of high, eloquent language. Rich in description and
dialogue, the characters seem more realistic to the reader as a result of such details

Zeus Relationship With Gods And Mortals Summary
ZEUS S RELATIONSHIPS WITH GODS AND MORTALS
By Aditya P.
Throughout the article, Zeus s Relationships with Gods and Mortals , Dowden
attempts to highlight the importance of Zeus in classical mythology by portraying
his relationship with gods and mortals alike. Dowden describes Zeus to be a special
god since he is the only god to have survived the Indo European times. In addition,
Dowden evaluates Zeus s importance by establishing his relationships with the gods
as a role of the father, brother, and husband, also in conjunction with Zeus s birth and
death, Titanomachy, Typhon, and gigantomachy. To further the relevance of Zeus in
classical mythology, Dowden examines Zeus s relationships with humans by
exploiting his adultery, begetter of gods and mortals, the color of myth, and
Ganymade. Thus, Dowden illustrates the importance of Zeus in classical mythology
and history through the use of various key themes.
One of the main themes Dowden employs to portray Zeus importance is his role of
being a father. Dowden claims that Zeus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He further goes on to explain how Zeus obtained that power through the
Titanomachy; where he fought the Titans with the help of his siblings along with
the thunder and lightning that was given to him by the Cyclops and banished the
Titans into Tartarus. Furthermore, within classical Greek history people developed
a word for this katatartaroö, which means to utterly tartarise, according to
Dowden. Thus, Zeus played a huge role in shaping classical Greece and an
example of this includes the origin of Mt Etna in Sicily, which was thought to be
flames of the monster Typhon, who was defeated by Zeus. Dowden claims that this
tale was repatriated into the Hellenistic age as well. Many of these stories help to
explain the history of Classical Greece, while also demonstrating the reign of Zeus,
and appraising him for this

Designing For Many Architects And Designers
Designing for people is a challenge for many architects and designers. The idea of
creating something innovative, beautiful or in this case, sculptural, which stands the
test of time, is ideal for many designers. But what happens when a building doesn t
meet the needs of its occupants? What happens when, what is considered, a
magnificent architectural feat begins to leak, grow mold and become a safety hazard?
The Ray and Maria Stata Center for Computer, Information and Intelligence Sciences
(also referred to as Building 32) is housed on the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology s (MIT) historic Building 20 site. Between 1946 and 1948, Building 20
functioned primarily as a temporary facility specifically for wartime outdoor training
exercises, and as a research laboratory for war related innovations. Building 20
continued to function as a research facility until its 1998 demolition. Architect, Frank
Gehry was selected, from a pool of sixteen firms, to design the new building after
funding became available through a donation from Ray and Maria Stata in 1998. The
Institute sought a daring design that set them a part and portrayed the school as the
best. The criteria initially established by MIT in 1989 proposed buildings that
wrapped around the exterior of the site, opening the interior space to the campus. This
didn t quite match Gehry s vision. Instead, Gehry challenged MIT s traditional bar
buildings by dividing the building mass into clusters, connecting the interiors

An Effective Feasibility Study Looks At The Entire Project...
Inexperienced programmers often prefer to tackle the coding to a solution first, and
skip the planning phase. However, it is wise to take the time to plan your project
before you begin programming. An effective feasibility study looks at the entire
project and tries to determine if what you want to undertake is possible to do, valid,
and worthwhile.
There are four main steps in a feasibility study:
Step One Problem Definition
This is a short description (one paragraph) of the application that you plan to make.

Theme Of Corruption In Candide
In Candide, Voltaire satirizes many forces within society that he believes are
unjust. Unfortunately, many of the forces still exist today. In my opinion, the
force that has caused the most pain and suffering in Candide as well as in society
today is corruption. Webster defines corruption as dishonest or illegal behavior,
especially by powerful people. Typically the intention of corruption is some kind of
personal gain. In Candide as well as today s world, people use their power and
influence over others for their own gain.
Voltaire satirizes the clergyas consisting of pleasure seeking, deceitful individuals
masquerading as a holy priesthood. A reason for this behavior is that during this
time, the clergy was the only way for younger sons to lead a respectable life. As a
result, according to Friar GiroflГ©e jealousy, discord, and rage inhabit the
monastery and at the end of the day he wants to smash his head against the
dormitory walls and all my colleagues are in the same state (Voltaire 74). Because
many people within the clergy don t want to be there, many of them engage in
corrupt behavior. They engage in romantic relationships despite their vow to be
celibate (Voltaire 24) (Voltaire 72). A member of the clergy preys preys on
Candide when he is dying in Paris. The clergy member tries to convince Candide to
pay a large sum of money to receive absolution for his sins (Voltaire 59 60).
Requiring payment in exchange for absolution is corrupt behavior on the part of the
Catholic Church.
The Grand Inquisitor is also a corrupt character. As Grand Inquisitor, it is his job to
cleanse Portugal of heretics. Despite his responsibilities, the Grand Inquisitor enters
into an agreement with Don Issachar where he and Issachar share CunГ©gonde
(Voltaire 18). One could correctly state that this behavior as hypocritical, the
inquisition persecutes the Jews yet the Grand Inquisitor enters into an agreement with
one. This behavior is also corrupt because access to CunГ©gonde is of person gain to
the Grand Inquisitor.
Corruption still exists in the world today. In 2014, it was exposed that the University
of North Carolina had offered a shadow curriculum to keep students (many of them
athletes) from failing. These fake
My Neighborhood
At first glance most people wouldn t describe my neighborhood as, beautiful and
appealing. In fact, most people probably wouldn t even describe my neighborhood
as, livable. Broken glass, bags of chips, cans of soda and wrinkle pieces of old
newspaper litter the ground; making it seem that the people who live here consider
the ground their own personal dumpster. Several houses are boarded up;
abandoned for such a long time I don t even know if people actually lived there in
the first place. Graffiti is scrawled across the sides of these houses giving a
somewhat vibrant appearance to these otherwise gloomy homes. No one s yard
gives the suggestion that it s being maintain. The grass grows in sporadic patches
like spots on a Dalmatian. At night, nothing illuminates the deserted sidewalks as a
result of the broken street lamps. This causes outsiders of our neighborhood to be
warily of taking shortcuts through it. These people who look at my neighborhood
and see all those things are just simply refusing to see the beauty within. They don
t know about the single father who works two jobs to send his three children to a
Catholic school. They don t know about the little girl who goes around with her
little, red wagon picking up pieces of trash. They don t know about the former navy
soldier who makes it a point to say, Hello to anyone who crosses his path. They don t

ability of an apparatus, machine, or system to consistently perform its intended or
required function , on demand and without degradation or failure. This paper
proposes to increase the reliability of RAID level 5 arrays used for storing archival
data. Here, group of two or three identical RAID arrays are considered at the initial
stage. Next, a shared parity disk is added to each group containing diagonal parities
of their arrays. Now, the new organization can tolerate all double disk failures and
between 75 and 89 percent of triple disk failures without incurring any data loss.
Two techniques can be used for increasing reliability such as Even Odd scheme and
Row Diagonal Parity (RDP) scheme. This paper gives a study on Even Odd
scheme and Row Diagonal Parity (RDP) scheme for increasing reliability and also
proposes a new sparing technique, double parity sparing. Hence forth the proposed
scheme provides better reliability as compared to the existing.

PM10 Data Analysis Essay
The present study is an epidemiological study. We processed PM10 data by the use
of Excel software and AirQ model. This study was aimed to assess the potential
effects of PM10 exposure on prevalence of COPD. This estimation was based on
caiculating relative risk (RR) and attributable proportion (AP). Sampling was done in
4 stations in Ahvaz for measuring air pollutants. Sampling and analysis were
performed according to EPA guideline. In this study, data from 175200
(4Г—24Г—365Г—5) air sampling during 2009 to 2013 were obtained from ADE.
Raw data analysis process encompassed temperatureand pressure modifications,
primary processing (deletion, spreadsheet, and synchronization), secondary
processing (writing code and condition correction), formulation, and filtering. Finally,

It was defined as the fraction of the health outcome in a certain population
attributable to exposure to a given atmospheric pollutant. Obtained value then was
multiplied by population (106). AP is proven causative correlation between health
consequences and air pollutant exposure. We used default model that attributes
cases of COPD to exposure to PM10. In addition to total cases attributable, we
could estimate the distribution of cases attributable in terms of concentration
intervals of pollutants.30 Relative risk (RR) is the ratio of the probability of the
event occurring in the exposed group versus a non exposed group. It is a measure
of association between a disease or condition and a factor under study. Relative risk
is calculated by dividing the incidence rate among those exposed to a factor by the
incidence rate among those not exposed to that factor. Population Prevented Fraction
refers to situations where exposure to a factor is protective. 31 All the above
mentioned equations are based on the assumption that the estimation used in this
analysis has been controlled regarding all probable

Securitisation will be discussed later on. New Technology New technology has
reduced barriers to entry. Originally the banking sector was based on branch
networks; in order to operate overseas, a bank required a branch in that country. Now,
thanks to new technology, in particular the internet, the physical presence of a bank
is not as important and branches are no longer a requirement to operating overseas
as physical proximity does not determine where money can be raised. For example
electronic trading technology has allowed the creation of companies such as E*Trade
and is providing new distribution channels and shifting the balance of power to the
consumer. Thus technology has changed the way in which money is lent and banks
have had to become more innovative both in the way in which their financial services
are delivered and the services they offer. Direct banking (telephone and internet
banking) is becoming comparatively more important and the branch network, which
used to be a major competitive advantage because it created a barrier to entry is now
becoming one of banks most expensive problems (Llewellyn 2

has reduced information asymmetry. Banks used to possess
Television And The Internet Advertising
Television and the internet ads on use of marijuana Rhetorical Analysis
Television and the internet is a good channel of passing the messages about the
adverse effects of the use of marijuana. The office of the National Drug Control
Policy is an American government action which depends on safeguards the health
of the people of America. The above the influence initiative is a program of the not
for profit Partnership at Drugfree.org. Their overall goal is to help teens reject
negative influences of drug and alcohol. The initiative is a friendly site for the
youths since it uses favorable language and identifies with the youth s lifestyle
while trying to change it. Drug abuse affects everyone in the society from the
young to the old. However, in recent years, the abuse of marijuana has majorly been
linked to teens. Is because of the peer pressure that spreads at an alarming rate. In the
current digital world, youths are looking for information over the internet, as opposed
to hard copy newspapers and magazines. The internet or the TV is mostly used by
teens and adults in looking for new information. Advertisers on the internet compete
to catch the eye of the readers. I choose two advertisements that warn people not to
smoke the marijuana. The two advertisements are on the office of the National Drug
Control Policy advertisement, and the other is an above the influence. The two sites
have different audiences with the latter have more appeal for the youths.
How Japanese Culture Is Inluencing America Essay
This book, Japanamerica focuses on how the Japanese popular culture influencing the
American culture. The author, Roland Kelts take a neutral prospective in order to
create this book, which is done by interviewing many significant individual who took
part in establishing the popular culture in both Japan and America. Kelts investigates
why the phenomenon of Japanophilia, or the outsider s infatuation with Japan s
cultural character (pg.5), is occurring especially in the United States. Even though
Japanophilia phenomenon arose before the twentieth century, it is increasing in
number because of the anime, manga, videogames, and other medium of popular
culture. In the first chapter, Kelts talk about the cultural norms between Japan and...

first, and how he became the first manga artist in Japan. It follows by an interview
with Yoshihiro Shimizu, who was working under Tezuka in his production studio.
Shimizu talks about how Tezuka was largely influenced by American animation,
such as Walt Disney Productions. However, Tezuka also drew dark stuff that does
not appear on Disney movies. Shimizu explains by using Astro Boy or Tetsuwan
Atom in Japanese. In Astro Boy, Atom always worry, which a unique characteristic
as a protagonist. Also, unlike Disney movies, Tezuka s animation includes dilemmas
of both sides from good and evil. American animations always depict the good side,
and not the evil side. The Japanese style established by Tezuka creates depth inside
the story. After Tezuka, Kelts talks about how Hayao Miyazaki influenced American
popular culture. Again, he is one of the most influential people in Japan and the
United States. In the beginning of the Japanamerica, the author talks about his friend

How Does Annabel Lee Rhyme Scheme
Poe uses rhyme scheme and internal rhyme to enhance the tone of his writing. In
Annabel Lee it says, For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams (Poe
1.34). This sentence is a perfect example of internal rhyme. Poe is rhyming beams
with dreams to emphasize the love the speaker has towards Annabel Lee. From this,
the tone can be interpreted by heartbroken since Annabel has passed away. Another
piece of evidence that shows rhyme scheme, is in the text, A Dream Within A Dream
, which states, I stand amid the roar/Of a surf tormented shore, (Poe 1.12 13). Edgar
Allan Poerhymes roar and shore at the end of these two lines to emphasize the tone of
the poem as torment. Also rhyming can relate with repetition because the readers
The Usage Of Cellular And Wi Fi Systems
The usage of cellular data has increased dramatically in the past few years. In order
to improve the capacity of cellular networks a number of techniques have been
introduced such as massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and direct device
to device communications. This paper concentrates on the coexistence of cellular and
Wi Fisystems in unlicensed bands. It compares two of the more common methods
for delivering cellular data traffic over unlicensed bands: traffic offloading and
resource sharing. It also discusses a new hybrid method of transferring cellular data
traffic, by combining both of the previously mentioned methods. Even though
transmitting cellular signal directly over unlicensed LTE (long term evolution) can
achieve higher QoS (Quality of Service) and efficiency than Wi Fi system, it is
important to have effective resource sharing strategies to provide good performance
to both LTE and Wi Fi systems in the same unlicensed band.
First of all it is necessary to understand the terminology used in this paper in
particular: unlicensed bands, traffic offloading and resource sharing. Wireless
spectrum consists of two parts: licensed spectrum, which consists of licensed bands
and unlicensed spectrum, which consists of unlicensed bands. Both unlicensed and
licensed bands are frequency bands, which are used to transmit and receive
information. Unlike licensed spectrum, which is owned by companies, unlicensed
spectrum is more of a free space, where users can
Dive Mask Research Paper
SCUBA DIVING GEAR 101: The Basics As much as we, humans, would like to
swim and dive in open waters without any form of protection and aid, our anatomy
just isn t perfectly designed to handle underwater conditions for long amounts of
time. This is where SCUBA Diving gear comes in. SCUBA Diving gear allows us
to see, breathe, swim and stay warm underwater. To beginners, this stuff might look
like it came from a sci fi alien invasion movie, so we ll discuss each one to help you
understand. The Dive Mask. This piece of equipment protects your eyes from sea
salt and other nasty sea stuff. But more importantly, the dive mask lets you ogle at
the beauty of the underwater world! The dive mask separates your eyes (and
sometimes nose) from water and creates an air pocket to let you see clearly
underwater. The mask is fastened on the diver s face because of something called
elastomer skirt , but we don t have to worry about that yet! All it means is that the
water can t get through and your mask won t suddenly come off. The Snorkel. It s
like a straw, but instead of sucking water or beverage, we actually use this to breathe
through our mouths. The snorkel allows us to breathe while facing down when
underwater. Some models are even designed to allow us to expel the water that
somehow gets in there. It is usually used for short and... Show more content on

Because we don t have gills, we have to rely on the regulator to breathe underwater.
The regulator is called as such because it regulates the amount of air you receive
from the SCUBA tank every time you inhale. It is a little similar to the snorkel in
that it allows you to breathe underwater and it has a mouthpiece. However, the
regulator is connected to the SCUBA tank and will allow you to stay underwater for
much longer. The octopus, on the other hand, is not a pet you can take with you
when you go diving (although I wish I could). It is a backup regulator, in case
something goes wrong with your first
How Did Samuel Morse Use Mass Communication
With just a few touches of a button the telegraph by Samuel Morse was the first of its
era to allow mass communication, quickly, and long distant. Changing the way the
world communicated and conducting business, the invention of the telegraph became
a significant part of American history. Prior to the invention of the telegraph, people
would write letters and rely on messengers to deliver their letters. Often letters would
be sent via boats across the ocean taking days to receive. Samuel Morse was quoted I
wish that in an instant I could communicate information, but three thousand miles are
not passed over in an instant and we must wait four long weeks before we can hear
from each other. (Streissguth, Thomas). Little did he know that his
Universal Truth In Exit Through The Gift Shop
Exit Through the Gift Shop is a documentary about French immigrant Theirry Guetta
and his passion for filming street art. The majority of his film takes place in the city
of Los Angeles and follows Theirry Guetta on his quest to interview numerous graffiti
artists including Banksy, an infamous graffiti artist from Britain. Banksy s street art
started out small but he eventually worked his way up to be a bigger and better
sensation and soon his stencils were seen all throughout the country of Britain.
With the use of realist aesthetics, Exit Through the Gift Shop offers a universal
truth that the majority of the audience can relate to: that no matter what you do, do
it with all you have and do it because it is something you love and believe in.
Theirry Guetta believed in this universal truth and practically spent his whole life
filming the world around him the moment the camera was in his hands because he
knew he was in love and there was no going back to what life was like before. In

of the fact that Banksy did not want the world to know what he looked like. The

The Issue Of Gun Safety Essay
When thinking about gun safety, many people think of the news channels, or the
speeches from Congress and the President about guns and some of the problems that
they cause. Man go as far as saying that the more guns U.S. civilians have, the more
crime will rise.. Though there are many problems that happen that involve guns, it is
not the guns themselves causing these problems; it s the people that are behind them.
Gun safety is a subject that has been a main topic in the past few years among
many, especially within politics. It is something that has become a substantial topic
in the past few years due to many shootings and accidents that have occurred with
today s youth. It is a topic that needs to be addressed. Gun safety is very important
in the matters of teaching people that firearms are not a toy. One should always treat
the gun like it is loaded. Too many people choose to play around with guns by
swinging them around, tossing them to people, or aiming the gun at other people and
pretending to shoot them. These are signs that people are much too immature and
should not be handling a firearm. Interviewed a friend about an instance that involved
a situation with someone being very immature when it came to handling a gun. When
to a hunting store to purchase a hunting shotgun this past summer, there was a
gentleman standing right next to the handgun case looking at a semi automatic pistol.
The man asked to look at a certain handgun and then proceeded to pick up the
Kyoto Protocol Of The Unfccc ( 2005 )
The Kyoto Protocol to the UNFCCC (2005)
1. Introduction
Founded on the belief that humans are ultimately responsible for global warming,
the Kyoto Protocol was signed in 1997 and made effective in 2005 with the aim of
reducing national quantitative greenhouse gas emissions by 5.2% (compared with
emissions in 1990) in industrialised countries worldwide. This would equate to a
29% cut overall by 2010. The protocol intends to specifically reduce global emissions
of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride, HFCs and PFCs
(www.kyotoprotocol.com). The protocol was later revised in its second commitment
period stating that an 18% cut (compared with 1990) in emissions between 2013
2020 would be its next target. The Kyoto Protocol created three market based
mechanisms...known as the carbon market to support its targets (UNFCCC). These
mechanisms covered emissions trading, the clean development mechanism (CDM)
and joint implementation. Combined, the mechanisms are geared towards
encouraging sustainable development using technology and investment, reducing
emissions in an economically viable way and stimulating developing countries to
reduce their emissions too. International cooperation was essential for the Kyoto
Protocol to be enforced and achieve its aims. As the protocol seeks to reduce
greenhouse emissions globally, efforts are needed from all industrialised countries
emitting harmful gases into the Earth s atmosphere. Without adequate participation
Utopia by Thomas More and The Prince by Machiavelli
Essay
Utopia by Thomas More and The Prince by Machiavelli
Thomas More s Utopia and Machiavelli s The Prince both concern themselves with
the
fundamental issues of how a society works and maintains itself. The goals behind the
two works,
however, differ considerably. The goal of Utopiais to illustrate the maintenance of an
ideal
society and the goal of The Prince is to instruct a prince, or ruler, on how to maintain
his state.
On the surface these two goals may seem similar but the difference lies in the way the
authors
handle the subject of power. As a manual, or handbook if you will, Prince treats
power as a
necessity, a goal, to be worked towards and maintained, almost at all costs. Utopia, a
fantasy,
treats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One might even say that
the people are empowered, but the ideals that truly run the society, are empowered.
More s true
focus does not even lie in power, but in the seeking of ideals.
A second comparison that one could make is that the types of governments also have
inherent qualities within them concerning power. In the Prince, the government is
either a
theoretical monarchy or dictatorship. Mach focuses on the manipulation of the people
to main
tain power. The minor details do not matter. The importance lies in the fact that in a
monarchy
or dictatorship one person has the power in a society and all the rest serve only to
obey him.
Starkly different is More s creation. His society is a true communist one and it could
also be
argued that it is also a democracy. Leaders are elected by the people, who make their
own
decisions freely. Nothing, not even power, is owned in that society by an individual.
The power
is distributed, thus empowerment. The capitalism of Machiavelli s world, the idea
that the ends
justify the means strongly ties in with this contrast.
That idea stated above correlates with the next point. In an idealistic society whose
goals
are justice and truth, it is impossible for one s goal to be power. More s idealistic
attitude and
Mach s lack of one are both indicators of how they view

that they have travelled and influenced each other and also developed the tourism
industry (Chappel, 2015). According to the website call Peru Travel Guide, Peru was

According to the article from a research by University College London , there are
different kinds of guides that tourists can find in Peru which included university

adventure guides who could be local people that know well enough about the region
but not the knowledge about tourism and usually employ by travel agencies because

Why Tarzan Is Not An Appropriate Movie
At age 6, one would expect a kid to be innocent and have nothing but good
thoughts. At an older age though, all those innocent thoughts are taken away and
that boy who was once a kid is faced with the reality of the world. A child who is
six old years old and younger shouldn t have to deal with all that negative
information about death, rejection, replacement, and the truth about society. A movie
containing all of that should not be seen by kids who are younger than seven, which
is why Tarzan is not an appropriate movie. The movie may have a happy ending, but
the parts that lead up to that ending are not as happy as one may think. Connie Zweig
and Jeremiah Abrams are the authors of The Shadowof Everyday Life. They describe
The Shadow as having negative emotions and behaviors rage, jealousy, shame...
suicidal and murderous tendencies (Zweig 324). All of these are presented in the
movie. At first, Tarzan begins with a couple that escape a burning ship and then are
forced to go into the jungle with their son Tarzan. Meanwhile, two gorillaparents are
smiling, cradling, and cuddling with their baby gorilla. One night, when the
gorillas are sleeping, the baby gorilla sees a frog and runs after it. He soon stops in
front of a leopard. The leopard lets out a big roar that wakes up the gorillas. They
run to try to get to their son as fast as they can, but the leopard catches the baby
gorilla and leaves with him (Tarzan). Now, even though it didn t show what happened

Hayashida, K., Komada, Y., Nakamura, M., Kobayashi, M., Iimori, M., Inoue, Y.

Narcolepsy (narco meaning numbness and lepsy meaning seizure ) consists
primarily of attacks of irresistible sleepiness in the daytime. The patients day is
broken up by a series of brief and repetitive sleep attacks, perhaps even two hundred
attacks in a single day. These transient, strong attacks may last from a few seconds
to as much as thirty minutes, with an average spell lasting two minutes. When a
patient suddenly gets the urge to sleep, it is practically impossible for them to
ignore that they are suffering an attack, in any situation. These sleep attacks
happen uncontrollably, and in any situation or place. People with narcolepsy
typically fall asleep suddenly, on the job, in conversation, standing up, and even
while eating, driving, or making love. (Matzen 2016, p.1) Many individuals with
Narcolepsy are extremely sleepy all day, regardless of how much sleep they got
the night before. One of the more prominent and troubling features of Narcolepsy
is Cataplexy. Cataplexy is a sudden loss of muscle tone that causes the person to
quickly collapse. More than seventy percent of people with Narcolepsy suffer from
Cataplexy. Cataplexy may consist of all the muscles or only a select few, so the
severity may range from total collapse to the ground to partial collapse of a limb or
the jaw. The Cataplectic (patient) sometimes remains

Sally G. Mcmullen s The Old South
During the nineteenth century, white mistresses and enslaved women struggled to
acquire agency in an antebellum economically driven apparatus. Although these
women encountered varying experiences, they intersected at the male and masculine
hegemony that draped their existence. This has not traditionally been the focus point
of some research within a historical and
African American Studies context. Vie indicated has been dichotomized, critiqued,

connecting two seemingly separate entities it helps to complicate the narrative and
bring attention to the similarities, rather than the differences, amongst free and
enslaved women.

Theme Of Father And Son Relationships In Night By Elie
Wiesel
One of the major themes that can be found in Night, by Elie Wiesel, is one of
father/son relationships. To quote a father from the book, Stein, The only thing
that keeps me alive is knowing that Reizel and the little ones are still alive. Not all
father/son relationships are as good however. Another part of the book reads, I
once saw. . . a boy of thirteen, beat his father for not making his bed properly. As
the old man quietly wept, the boy was yelling, If you don t stop crying instantly, I
will no longer bring you bread. Understood? In presenting examples like these, Wiesel
communicates a message of the importance of good father/sonrelationships to his
readers. This paper will examine father/son relationships throughout the book,... Show

There were also several negative father/son relationships found in the book. One
such relationship is that of a young pipel, and his father. Wiesel writes, I once saw
one of them, a boy of thirteen, beat his father for not making his bed properly. As
the old man quietly wept, the boy was yelling, If you don t stop crying instantly, I
will no longer bring you bread. Understood? This is an example of how life in the
concentration camp causes a boy to throw aside his relations for the sake of his
own survival. A second example is that of Rabbi Elihou and his son. While Rabbi
Elihou cared deeply for his son, the Rabbi s son viewed his father as a burden and
left him behind. Shortly following the passage about the Rabbi looking for for his
son, Wiesel writes, But then I remembered something else: his son had seen him
losing ground, sliding back to the rear of the column... A terrible thought crossed
my mind: What if he had wanted to be rid of his father? The third example of a
poor father/son relationship occurs in the cattle car. A worker throws bread into the
cars causing immediate desperate fighting. An old man manages to grab a piece of
bread shortly before this passage, Stunned by the blows, the old man was crying:
Meir, my little Mier! Don t you recognize me... You re killing your father...I have
bread... for you too.... for you to...but the other threw himself on top of him. The old

academic foundation for those wishing to enter into the field of Policing . Prior to
this time, Police applicants need only meet the minimum requirements of age (18 or
older), High School Education, Clean Criminal Record and testing that were specific
to the Agency that they applied to. SecurityGuards and Private Investigators had
fewer requirements to obtain Licensing. Adults with a Clean Criminal Record and
providing the associated fee would send a Passport type photo in the mail and receive
their Security/P.I. License within weeks of their application.
Present Legislation surrounding Policing and Security Guards/Private Investigators
requires candidates to undergo a battery of tests and/or training before even being
considered for a position. This is true for Public Policing and Private Sector, Security
hiring practices. There are thousands of candidates that graduate from Degree
Programs, Police Foundations Programs and Private Colleges that do not or will not
meet the basic requirements for a job in Policing. The Private Sector is a less
arduous process and Security or Private Investigator can go through Basic Training in
40 and 50 hours respectively. This allows them to challenge the Provincial Security
Guard Exam or the Provincial Private Investigator Exam. Everest College offers
training but does
The Reggio Emilia Approach Essay
The Reggio Emilia Approach
Hailed by Newsweek (1991) magazine as the international role model for
preschools, the Reggio Emilia approach has caught the attention of early childhood
educators. In 1999, current Secretary of Education, Richard W. Riley visited the
schools in Reggio Emilia to better understand its benefits (Dunne, 2000). It s
principals are understood by only a few, however, and has limited following with
approximately 1200 Reggio inspired preschools in operation, most of them private
(Sipprelle, 2009), making the innovative ideas offered by this approach available to
only a few. Why have so few schools emulated those so successful in Reggio Emilia,
Italy? Is Reggio Emilia applicable in the American classroom? A look... Show more

The land was donated and so was the labor. Many of the materials were recycled from
the ruins created by the war (Source, 0000).
While there is no fixed curriculum or one specific model to emulate, the Reggio
Emilia approach does have some essential components, some fundamental ideas about
how children learn most effectively. The utmost is the idea that the young child is
inherently competent not only as a learner but as an initiator. The child has
preferences and opinions that have value and should be listened to with respect and
care, knowing that they have much to offer their classroom community and
community at large. This pedagogy plays a large role in shaping the Reggio
classroom. It allows the children to pursue projects which are interesting and
meaningful and then allowing adequate time to follow those projects with passion.
The Reggio Emilia approach is an emergent curriculum because it is developed and
shaped by the interests of the child, through negotiations between the child, parents
and teachers. This is done in a Reggio classroom by in large and small group projects
in which the children engage. The projects involve planning, hands on activities,
research, and representation through a variety of visual media. The observant teacher
collects documentation which is a vital component of the Reggio philosophy in the
form of written anecdotes, samples of children s work, photographs and videos. This
information is used to reflect on the
Old Testament Exegetical Paper В– Isaiah 62
The prophet Isaiah lived in the Southern Kingdom of Judah in the 3rd century B.C.
He had a reputation as an uncompromising prophet who did not soften his words of
condemnation and urge to make changes (Stafford 616). The nation of Judah stood
in a precarious position: the wickedness of the people, the civil war which divided
the Israelites into two kingdoms of Judah and Israel, the neighboring countries which
stood by, threatening war and the dilemma that faced the leaders about whether or
not they should take on allies all indicated the downfall of the nation of Judah if the
people did not heed his words and change their ways. According to The Interpreter s
Bible, Isaiah62 was written in the later part of the prophet Isaiah s life. By... Show

Most references to Zion take place in the books of Psalms, Lamentation and Isaiah.
Its first appearance is in 2 Sam 5:6 as the stronghold of Zion . G.A. Barois points
out that it need not be interpreted restrictively as a single building, but rather as the
fortified crest of the hill between the valleysВ… (959). The name В‘Zion has been
suggested by many to designate the entire walled town that covered the southeast
hill of Jerusalem. During the exile however, the whole of Judah came to be known
as Zion. В‘Zion occupies synonymous parallelism with the noun В‘Jerusalem (not
just the southeast hill) while sons of Zion and daughters of Zion implies the
inhabitants of Jerusalem (Lam. 4:2, Isa. 10:32). In 1Kings 8:1,2 we read, В…out
of the City of David which is ZionВ… Hence we can correctly assume that both
refer to the same place, which is Jerusalem. Since my chosen passage is about
В‘Zion , it is good to be sure what exactly is being spoken about.
Now that I ve mentioned Zion the city, I d like to cover another important aspect
concerning cities that s mentioned several times in the BibleВ— watchmen.
According to The NIV Exhaustive Concordance, the word В‘watchmen has been used
13 times in the Old Testament (the singular form, В‘watchman , has been used 16
times). This word is often used figuratively in the Bible, hence it is important to
understand its particular meaning in the passage chosen. В‘Watchmen is mostly
found in the books of
Problems Associated With Poor Time Management For
Students
Introduction Time management is an essential aspect that the students must learn in
order to achieve their goals and build their career. The skills of time management
initially provide a relief from the stress as well as later helps the students to be
focused towards their targets as well as their performance for achieving the targets.
Thus, if the students are not able to manage their time effectively, then there may
arise various issues in their personal as well as academic life (Michael). In the same
essence, the report is focused on exploring the problems associated with poor time
managementfor students. In addition to this, the cause of poor time management

This ultimately results in poor quality outcomes that are not able to meet the
academic requirements, and lower overall grades (Liu et al.). This increased
workload has a severe impact on the physical as well as mental health of the students.
The heavy workload leads to students spending extended time sitting in front of the
computer screens to search for the necessary data and address the assignment
requirements. This has implications for the health of the students, impacting the vital
bodily functions due to longer sitting. High exposure to screens also influences the
eyes of the students, influencing their vision quality and interfering with the natural
sleep cycle (Thorp et al.; Hale, and Guan). In addition to this, the students can
potentially suffer from mental health issues, such as stress. Therefore, poor time
management can seriously impact the physical and mental health of the students.
Causes of Poor Time Management Related Issues One of the biggest causes for the
poor time management among students is the tendency to procrastinate until the last
possible moment. There may be multiple reasons for procrastination, but it ultimately
results in intense work for long stretches to meet the necessary deadlines. It is often
argued that the majority of the students work better under pressure of deadlines, and
therefore tend to procrastinate (The McGraw Center for Teaching Learning).
However, it can also lead to the problems
Justin Diary Entry Analysis
Cher Journal,
Today Victor left for Ingolstadt. He just left but hours ago and I already feel the
vastness of my cousin s absence. It s hard for me to see him go for I have been
within his presence for as long as I remember. It must be hard for him to go as well,
especially with the recent passing of his mother, my dear Aunt Caroline. I feel
partially responsible for her death; she caught the sickness from me. I am still so very
thankful that the sickness did not take the same hold on me as it did her. This family
has never seen the sadness we all behold now;I doubt we could take even one more.
Justine has taken the event very hard as well. She was very close to my dearest
aunt and tended to her when she became sick. One look at Justine in the past and all
your sorrows would flit away but now I feel she needs the comfort. She has been
neglected over these months for the focus has been on our closest family members
instead. I must retire for the night and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was so worried for him as I had not heard from him in almost 2 years. Now that I
know he has been sick I wish I had been more persistent in my letters sent his way.
Henry says that Victor is progressively getting better but I wish that he himself
could write a letter and express his feelings to us. My uncle has been patiently
waiting for a response directly from Victor as well. If we do not hear from my
cousin soon, I assume Uncle will travel there to check on the wellbeing of Victor
himself. Yes, Henry is giving us details but he is always very vague about what is
truly wrong with my dear cousin. I hope the scarlet fever has not also taken hold of
Victor. I do doubt that my dear friend would leave that vital information out of the
letters if that were the case. The time has gotten away from me and the moon is high
in the sky. I will wait another day with baited breath for a letter or Victor to return to

Essay about Depiction of September 11th 2001 in the Media
It was Tuesday 11th September 2001 when two hijacked passenger aircrafts collided
with the World Trade Centre, bringing it to fall and kill thousands of people and
injure even more. Immediately, newspaper, television and radio journalists were
reporting, all with different views, opinions and facts.
The ways in which the tragedy of September 11th was reported and presented, in
newspapers, magazines and television broadcasts was striking and they varied
greatly, in particular by The Sun a tabloidnewspaper, The Financial Times a
broadsheet newspaper and a letter published in a commemorative magazine marking
the events of that day. Differences and similarities between the three sources were ...

The Financial Times a broadsheet newspaper, complies mainly with the usual
stereotype of itself, that broadsheet s deal very much with the information and
actual events of a situation. Smaller picture to text ratios are used and headlines
are rather more discreet. The Financial Times uses a picture that concentrates very
much more on the whole skyline of New York and the Statue of Liberty stands tall
in the foreground. The Financial Times has used this in their front page picture to
demonstrate how the tragedy has affected people on a much bigger scale across
America. The presence of the Statue of Liberty is included to show freedom and
hope for the American people, or, indeed to highlight the terrorist attempt to destroy
this. Bullet points at the top of the front page also show that The Financial Times is
a newspaper which focuses more directly on issues that affect the whole world, some
of these issues being, Finance, Travel and Tourism and Political issues.
They also attempt to use language that will appeal but direct it in a more formal way,
concerning different political and social aspects. The scale difference of pictures
between the two newspapers, allows room for the broadsheet to include columns of
text, beginning to explain and tell the events
War Breeds Hatred Analysis
Hatred breeds hatred (Wallace 2), this is a recurring idea that comes with the
continuous use of violent subjugations throughout human history. It is because of
human nature that throughout time people have strived for better lives. In this never
ending mission people have found force through war as an effective way to improve
their own lifestyle. With the improvement of other s lives, many have been
wrongfully treated. This left a trail of hatred in the wake of ancient battlefields. It
was such an occurrence that to this day people are entangled in the ghosts of past
generations. Due to the grizzly status of warpeople have always opposed it. It is an

Chrisfield is a violent and brutal man, and during the novel he murders a German

Circadian Rhythm
Going to sleep is the point at which a neurotransmitter in the cerebrum tells your
body in the event that it ought to be wakeful or sleeping. The neurons turn off the
flag to keep you conscious. There are four phases of rest and one of them is REM.
When resting the mind clears itself of lethal items that normally develop. Your body
brings down it s body warmth to preserve energy. Development hormones are
discharged from the body that reconstruct muscles and joints that have been strained
throughout the day.
We know it is the ideal opportunity for bed when we remain wakeful longer. Our
circadian rhythm likewise reveals to us when to rest. These drives help control the
neurotransmitters in the body. The adjust and convergence of these compound ...

One of the procedures is the circadian rhythm. Circadian rhythm is the direction of
the body s inward procedures and levels of sharpness. The alternate process is

between neurons. Research has demonstrated that when animals learn a new task,
their neurons appear to strengthen the synaptic associations engaged with learning

Tasteless Chocolate Chip Cookies
Some prefer hard, tasteless chocolate chip cookies while others suggest chewy,
delicious cookies. To make the best chewy, delicious chocolate chip cookies there are
steps that must be followed. Things like preheating the oven to 350, choosing the
cookie dough is effortless, just choose the one that tastes the best, next put the cookie
dough on an 18.5in x 15in bakingpan and let the cookies cook for 15 20 minutes.
However, there are two crucial steps that must be followed for the cookies to be
perfect, the cookie dough must be in the right shape plus at the end it s a must to
add those additional delicious chocolate chips. The pre packaged cookies are
square shaped which does not make for the best cookies. Unfortunately, they tend
to come out over cooked on the edges, then gooey in the middle. So to avoid the
under cooked cookies just change the shape of the cookie dough. Take one square at
a time and put it in the palm of your hand; try to place the cookie dough near the
center of your palm as close as possible. Next, take your other hand and lightly press
the hand with the cookie dough in it, then immediately start... Show more content on

After the cookies are finished baking, take them out and immediately after placing
the pan down, add two chocolate chips on top of each cookie. If a person adds
more than two, the chocolate chips will not melt right and the cookies will be a
big disaster. The reason why the additional chocolate chips must be added right
after the cookies come out of the oven is so they can melt on top of the cookies
while they re still hot. Let the cookies sit for a couple of minutes to make sure the
chocolate chips melt; if they do not melt after a few minutes just simply put the
cookies back in the oven for 2 minutes at the most. After the chips have melted and
the cookies are cooled the chocolate chip cookies will be ready to be served. A person
will agree that those are the best cookies he/she have

Joe Brock is a minority interest shareholder in Big Corporation. Leslie Ross is a

due to this control, Leslie Ross must consolidate his interest with Big Corporation.
Mark Jones, a minority shareholder, is in a position of management for the company.

Consideration is given if the majority shareholder owns such a significant portion of
the investee that the minority shareholder has a small economic interest. The larger
the disparity, the more likely these are to be protective rights. In this situation, there
is not a large disparity.
b. If the corporate governance arrangements states that decisions are made at the
shareholder level, these are likely to be substantive participating rights.
c. If matters can be put to a vote of the shareholders, these are most likely substantive
participating rights.

Assessing whether the rights of a minority shareholder should overcome the
presumption of consolidation by the majority investor depends on whether the
majority investor has control over the corporation. Judging control depends on many
factors, including if a minority investor has participating or protective rights.
ASC 810 10 25 10 through 25 11
A minority investor that holds protective rights does take the control away from the
majority investor and the owner of the majority voting interest would need to
consolidate with the corporation.
Substantive participating rights are granted by contract or by law. A minority
investor that holds these rights can participate in significant decisions that are made
in the ordinary course of business, including vetoing significant decisions proposed
by the investor with the majority voting interest. If this
Theseus As A Hero
Myths contain many legendary heroes within, but what makes them different from
an ordinary person? Many conveys that it is not very challenging to be a hero, but
wise ones know the struggles of being a hero, which the texts Theseus and The
Adventure of Odysseus , written in the book Mythology by Edith Hamilton proves.
Heroes may require the help from others, but more often than not, they are fearless
fighters who do not need the aid of others to be successful. Heroes might easily
gain credits for the work of their fellow allies, but that does not mean it is easy to be
a hero. A true hero should not be afraid of pain or death just like the great legend
Theseus. At the same time, these heroes must be like the extraordinary hero
Odysseus, who was successful in his heroic journey. Heros need sidekicks, whom
they rely on for multiple things, but end up with all the credit; just like how Theseus
obtains all the glory for Ariadne s thinking and how Odysseus attains almost all the
credits for Athena s work. Ariadne tells Theseus the way to get out of the Labyrinth
where the Minotaur stays. She would bring about the escape if he would promise
to take her back to Athens and marry her ( Theseus Hamilton 207). The only reason
Theseus was able to slaughter the Minotaur and escape the maze was because of
Ariadne. Theseus leaves Ariadne to die on an island. Even if she dies because of a
disease, he should have at least inform the people of Athens that she was a huge
reason for

Healthy Commercial Dog Food
Have you ever taken a look at the ingredients listed on a bag or can of commercial
dog food? If so, depending on which brand you looked at, chances are you
wondered how it could be healthy. Sadly, the truth is that most commercial dog
foods are no healthier for your pet than a bag of potato chips is for you. So, before
you allow your dogto take another bite of that chow you have been giving them, you
should read this article on choosing a healthy commercial dog food.
Commercial dog foods are a great convenience but what you are gaining in
convenience, you might be losing in the health of your pet. Luckily, there are some
commercial foods that are nutritious too. When push comes to shove, you should

Basically, meal is meat that has been pre cooked. When you are looking at low
quality foods, you will generally find a meat ingredient first. That meat ingredient
will be followed by a number of fillers and by products. Yes, meat has been listed as
the first ingredient, but there are more fillers and that changes the ratio, so you want
to avoid anything that has a lot of by products or fillers listed.
When choosing a commercial dog food, preservatives are necessary in order to
keep the dog food from going stale. However, those preservatives should not
artificial chemicals. Did you know artificial chemicals could cause cancers? In fact,
you should avoid any foods that have chemical preservatives such as BHT, BHA and
Ethoxyquin.
Typically, healthy commercial all natural dog foods are going to be more
expensive, but your dog may actually eat less of them since they are not loaded
with fillers that have no nutritional value and, therefore, it takes less food to meet
his nutritional needs. You want to look for foods that are natural and/or organic as
these will be free from toxins. Feeding a healthy commercial all natural dog food to
your dog may cost a bit more, but you will be paid back with lower vet bills and a
healthy dog that lives a long

  • 1. Compare And Contrast Essay Writing a compare and contrast essay can be both challenging and rewarding. On one hand, the task requires a thorough understanding of the subject matter and the ability to identify meaningful similarities and differences between two or more topics. This involves extensive research and critical thinking to ensure that the comparisons made are valid and insightful. One of the difficulties lies in the organization of the essay. Creating a coherent structure that effectively communicates the comparisons can be tricky. Striking the right balance between the two elements is crucial, as an essay that focuses too much on similarities or differences may lose its overall effectiveness. Moreover, choosing the right topics for comparison adds another layer of complexity. It's essential to select subjects that have enough in common to draw meaningful connections but also possess significant differences that can be explored in depth. The process of drafting the essay itself requires a thoughtful approach to language and expression. Crafting clear and concise sentences that convey complex ideas is a skill that not everyone possesses. Additionally, maintaining a logical flow throughout the essay is crucial for the reader to follow and comprehend the comparisons being made. Despite these challenges, writing a compare and contrast essay can be a valuable exercise in analytical thinking and communication skills. It allows the writer to delve deep into the intricacies of the chosen topics and present a well-argued perspective. In conclusion, while writing a compare and contrast essay may pose certain difficulties, the rewards lie in the development of critical thinking, research skills, and the ability to articulate complex ideas. If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, remember that help is available. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, where professional writers can assist you in navigating the complexities of academic writing. With the help of her teacher at Each One Teach One she escaped from that but also learned how to read and write as a form of expression. Her teacher asks Precious to communicate with her through writing poems. There are a lot of forms of expressing ones art. • 4. English Essay English Essay Mister Pip Analyse how contrast between characters helped the author communicate an important message or idea. Mister Pip written by Lloyd Jones is a novel recounted by the protagonist Matilda. Set in 1990 s Bougainville, we see Matilda begin to question her Mother s traditional idea s about life as a civil war rages between the rebels and the Redskins in her homeland. Mr. Wattsor Pop eye is given the role teaching the village children, being the only educated, and consequentially, white man left on the island. He begins reading Great Expectations to the children and Matilda finds herself becoming entranced in white civilisation. She gets immersed in the story of the white boy Pip living in London in the 1800 s, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She continues to try and save her daughter, the power of unconditional love overcoming their even more obviously marked differences. Dolores then tries to impose her faith on Matilda in hope she will begin to value God over Great Expectations to lead her away from the white world. Dolores comes unannounced to Matilda s class and tries to educate the children on the only thing she knows well: the importance of faith she didn t know anything outside what she knew from the bible but as Mr. Watts gets further through the novel Pip becomes yet even more important to Matilda. Dolores never stops in trying to steer Matilda away from the white world. The world she knows barely anything about, the world she thinks is evil. Despite their ever increasing differences Dolores will always continue to protect Matilda from what she believes is bad. We see the power of unconditional love shown again through Matilda and Dolores s contrast when Matilda discovers Great Expectations to have been stolen by her Mother. When Dolores hides Great Expectations much strife is caused. The Red Skins visit Matilda s island, threatening to burn all of their possessions unless they give up Pip who is only a character from a book and cannot be given up. Because the book is not where it is supposed to be Pip cannot be explained. The redskins burn the whole villages possessions because Dolores fails to come forward and admit to what she had done in order to retrieve

There are numerous cultural misunderstandings in this case study between Anglo and Latino workforce. The Human Resource Department is unclear how to address the issues facing in the company. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, Mexican workers tend to be very dedicated to their jobs. Mexicans do not hesitate to go for the extra miles to work longer hours to make additional money to support their family. One major cultural clash between Anglo Americans and Mexicans are concept of timeliness. Punctuality is not big concern for Mexicans. American culture featured promptness and timeliness; the Mexican culture could care less. Mexicans believe their supervisors know everything and should always show respect to authority and not ever questioning their supervisors and elderly ever. It is considered disrespectful to question supervisors and elderly. Therefore, in this case study, it is possible that Jose Alvarado could be a younger Latino manager. So, that could explain why he is having trouble and difficulty to supervise his Latino workers. Also, keeping a harmony relationship with their own fellows are also very important to them. Therefore, it will be a challenge task for Alvarado to criticize his fellow Latino workers. This could possibly be the reason why Alvarado is dissatisfied with his new title. In the workplace, the cultural differences in terms of personal sensitivity are the source of many, if not most, of the conflicts between Mexicans and Americans. Americans, for the most part, are individualistic, competitive, and comfortable working on their own. Americans think highly of personal initiative and are self starters. When
  • 6. Aristotle s Philosophy On The Morality Of War Essay Throughout history, mankind have fought one another at great cost and for almost as long as people have been waging war, people have been asking questions surrounding the morality of war. In ancient Greece Aristotle raised a number of ideals that he believed should be adhered to, he believed that war needed to be regulated by a universal community under natural law. He also criticised the desire to conquer as a valid means of going to war. His views where based on the stoic tenants of virtue and reason. Aristotle s teaching began to gain traction again in Europe during the 13th century, some of his teachings conflicted with the ideas of the Catholic Church which at the time was a major political power. Thomas Aquinasin the Summa Theologica began to combine the Church s ideals with that of Aristotle s to present a picture of how war should be. In order for a war to be just, states need to have the right motivations to go to war and they need to conduct themselves in a moral way while at war. This idea of Just War has evolved over the years through theorists such as Vitoria and has been criticised by others such as Erasmus. Now in the 21st century we have a slightly different much more secularised view of Just war. Political theorist Brian Orend, suggests that for a war to be truly just it must also have an ethical end, states must have a valid exit strategy that doesn t leave the country in chaotic ruins after the war. This essay will refer to numerous contemporary
  • 7. Film Analysis of Twilight Samurai Introdution Twilight Samurai is a movie that revolves around the live of a samurai, years before the Meiji Restoration. The main issues that the movie looked at include stereotype of samurais, genders and social class differences. Unlike many typical samurai themed movies which involve fighting, woman and pride, the director of Twilight Samurai focused on the everyday life and difficulties faced by the main protagonist, Iguchi Seibei. His story was told by her daughter, Ito who narrated the whole movie. Therefore, it can be said that this movie is based on the fond memories of her father. She was still very young when these incidents happened which changed her father s life irrevocably. Samurai Stereotype Unlike other samurais who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the way Iguchi live his life tells me that if he is given a choice, he would definitely choose not be born to be a samurai. Although samurais are considered to be nobility, he would rather give up this prestigious title to be a humble farmer. This goes to show that he is a rather unambitious man, to the point of almost lackadaisical, leading a simple life of growing crops and seeing his precious daughters grow up. Whilst Iguchi was inside the house to fight Zenemon Yogo, Iguchi did not have the desire to fight and kill him. Instead, he sat down and chatted with Zenemon and told him that he could still run if he wants to. He was hesitant about fighting and even lied that his sword was a bamboo but a fight still ensued in the end. This was different from the typical samurai who would begin fighting and slaying his enemies upon seeing them. When Tomoe brought Kayano and Ito to a festival which can only be attended by the peasants, she told them that had it not been for the peasants, there would not have samurais. Tomoe s opinions are forward thinking and do not think that samurais should be forbid from the festival. Gender Inequality In the movie, women are seen to be unimportant and should only be housewives. While Iguchi encouraged his daughters to study hard, their great uncle commented that girls do not need to
  • 8. Wakeboarding Essay example Wakeboarding Wakeboarding is a fun and challenging sport. A couple of years ago I was boating with some friends when one of them pulled out something I had never seen before, a wakeboard. In the past I had tried water skiing and kneeboarding, but until then I had never heard of wakeboarding, I haven t picked up a water ski or kneeboard since that day. A wakeboard is shaped a lot like a snowboard. It is 150 cm long and about 60 cm wide. Riding a wakeboard has been compared to surfing, skateboarding, waterskiing, and snowboarding. At first I was nervous about learning a new watersport at age 18, because I remembered how hard it was to get up one ski. My friends convinced me to give it a try and I loved it. At ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I first started going fakie it was like learning to wakeboard all over again. Just recently I have gotten to the point where I can ride regular or goofy in any water conditions, choppy or smooth as glass, and feel like I am doing well. Just recently I was able to land a jump that I started in the regular position executed a 180 degree turn and landed in the goofy stance. This took me hours and hours of practice, but overcoming the challenge was so exhilarating that it was worth the time and effort, and made me even more excited about the sport. The next skill I have been working to acquire is grabs. A grab is contorting your body into different positions then grabbing the board with one of your hands while jumping. The most complicated grab that I can currently land is starting the jump in the regular stance, while in the air I reach through my legs grab the back of my board and execute a 180 degree turn landing in the goofy position. I m excited about continuing to improve and learning to tweak big air in this new and exciting sport. I am working towards a goal of being able to land a backflip within the next year. Currently I am really good at landing on my head. But for some reason when I am wakeboarding even landing on my head doesn t hurt. I am totally stoked about this awesome sport that I have found, the thing that will continue to bring me back to boarding is that it is a sport of never
  • 9. The Big Sleep By Raymond Chandler In Raymond Chandler s novel The Big Sleep, a private detective is trying to unravel a blackmailing case for a dying millionaire, General Sternwood. Philip Marlowe, the detective, finds that the case not only involves blackmail, but also homicide. • 10. Zeus Relationship With Gods And Mortals Summary ZEUS S RELATIONSHIPS WITH GODS AND MORTALS By Aditya P. Throughout the article, Zeus s Relationships with Gods and Mortals , Dowden attempts to highlight the importance of Zeus in classical mythology by portraying his relationship with gods and mortals alike. Dowden describes Zeus to be a special god since he is the only god to have survived the Indo European times. In addition, Dowden evaluates Zeus s importance by establishing his relationships with the gods as a role of the father, brother, and husband, also in conjunction with Zeus s birth and death, Titanomachy, Typhon, and gigantomachy. To further the relevance of Zeus in classical mythology, Dowden examines Zeus s relationships with humans by exploiting his adultery, begetter of gods and mortals, the color of myth, and Ganymade. Thus, Dowden illustrates the importance of Zeus in classical mythology and history through the use of various key themes. One of the main themes Dowden employs to portray Zeus importance is his role of being a father. Dowden claims that Zeus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He further goes on to explain how Zeus obtained that power through the Titanomachy; where he fought the Titans with the help of his siblings along with the thunder and lightning that was given to him by the Cyclops and banished the Titans into Tartarus. Furthermore, within classical Greek history people developed a word for this katatartaroГ¶, which means to utterly tartarise, according to Dowden. Thus, Zeus played a huge role in shaping classical Greece and an example of this includes the origin of Mt Etna in Sicily, which was thought to be flames of the monster Typhon, who was defeated by Zeus. Dowden claims that this tale was repatriated into the Hellenistic age as well. Many of these stories help to explain the history of Classical Greece, while also demonstrating the reign of Zeus, and appraising him for this

The idea of creating something innovative, beautiful or in this case, sculptural, which stands the test of time, is ideal for many designers. But what happens when a building doesn t meet the needs of its occupants? What happens when, what is considered, a magnificent architectural feat begins to leak, grow mold and become a safety hazard? The Ray and Maria Stata Center for Computer, Information and Intelligence Sciences (also referred to as Building 32) is housed on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology s (MIT) historic Building 20 site. Between 1946 and 1948, Building 20 functioned primarily as a temporary facility specifically for wartime outdoor training exercises, and as a research laboratory for war related innovations. Building 20 continued to function as a research facility until its 1998 demolition. Architect, Frank Gehry was selected, from a pool of sixteen firms, to design the new building after funding became available through a donation from Ray and Maria Stata in 1998. The Institute sought a daring design that set them a part and portrayed the school as the best. The criteria initially established by MIT in 1989 proposed buildings that wrapped around the exterior of the site, opening the interior space to the campus. This didn t quite match Gehry s vision. Instead, Gehry challenged MIT s traditional bar buildings by dividing the building mass into clusters, connecting the interiors

  • 17. Theme Of Corruption In Candide In Candide, Voltaire satirizes many forces within society that he believes are unjust. Unfortunately, many of the forces still exist today. In my opinion, the force that has caused the most pain and suffering in Candide as well as in society today is corruption. Webster defines corruption as dishonest or illegal behavior, especially by powerful people. Typically the intention of corruption is some kind of personal gain. In Candide as well as today s world, people use their power and influence over others for their own gain. Voltaire satirizes the clergyas consisting of pleasure seeking, deceitful individuals masquerading as a holy priesthood. A reason for this behavior is that during this time, the clergy was the only way for younger sons to lead a respectable life. As a result, according to Friar GiroflГ©e jealousy, discord, and rage inhabit the monastery and at the end of the day he wants to smash his head against the dormitory walls and all my colleagues are in the same state (Voltaire 74). Because many people within the clergy don t want to be there, many of them engage in corrupt behavior. They engage in romantic relationships despite their vow to be celibate (Voltaire 24) (Voltaire 72). A member of the clergy preys preys on Candide when he is dying in Paris. The clergy member tries to convince Candide to pay a large sum of money to receive absolution for his sins (Voltaire 59 60). Requiring payment in exchange for absolution is corrupt behavior on the part of the Catholic Church. The Grand Inquisitor is also a corrupt character. As Grand Inquisitor, it is his job to cleanse Portugal of heretics. Despite his responsibilities, the Grand Inquisitor enters into an agreement with Don Issachar where he and Issachar share CunГ©gonde (Voltaire 18). One could correctly state that this behavior as hypocritical, the inquisition persecutes the Jews yet the Grand Inquisitor enters into an agreement with one. This behavior is also corrupt because access to CunГ©gonde is of person gain to the Grand Inquisitor. Corruption still exists in the world today. In 2014, it was exposed that the University of North Carolina had offered a shadow curriculum to keep students (many of them athletes) from failing. These fake

This paper proposes to increase the reliability of RAID level 5 arrays used for storing archival data. Here, group of two or three identical RAID arrays are considered at the initial stage. Next, a shared parity disk is added to each group containing diagonal parities of their arrays. Now, the new organization can tolerate all double disk failures and between 75 and 89 percent of triple disk failures without incurring any data loss. Two techniques can be used for increasing reliability such as Even Odd scheme and Row Diagonal Parity (RDP) scheme. This paper gives a study on Even Odd scheme and Row Diagonal Parity (RDP) scheme for increasing reliability and also proposes a new sparing technique, double parity sparing. Hence forth the proposed scheme provides better reliability as compared to the existing. Keywords RDP, MTTDL, RAID, Reliability. Originally the banking sector was based on branch networks; in order to operate overseas, a bank required a branch in that country. Now, thanks to new technology, in particular the internet, the physical presence of a bank is not as important and branches are no longer a requirement to operating overseas as physical proximity does not determine where money can be raised. For example electronic trading technology has allowed the creation of companies such as E*Trade and is providing new distribution channels and shifting the balance of power to the consumer. Thus technology has changed the way in which money is lent and banks have had to become more innovative both in the way in which their financial services are delivered and the services they offer. Direct banking (telephone and internet banking) is becoming comparatively more important and the branch network, which used to be a major competitive advantage because it created a barrier to entry is now becoming one of banks most expensive problems (Llewellyn 2 Clare F Thomas Corporate and Wholesale Banking B 1994). It compares two of the more common methods for delivering cellular data traffic over unlicensed bands: traffic offloading and resource sharing. It also discusses a new hybrid method of transferring cellular data traffic, by combining both of the previously mentioned methods. Even though transmitting cellular signal directly over unlicensed LTE (long term evolution) can achieve higher QoS (Quality of Service) and efficiency than Wi Fi system, it is important to have effective resource sharing strategies to provide good performance to both LTE and Wi Fi systems in the same unlicensed band. Too many people choose to play around with guns by swinging them around, tossing them to people, or aiming the gun at other people and pretending to shoot them. These are signs that people are much too immature and should not be handling a firearm. Interviewed a friend about an instance that involved a situation with someone being very immature when it came to handling a gun. When to a hunting store to purchase a hunting shotgun this past summer, there was a gentleman standing right next to the handgun case looking at a semi automatic pistol. The man asked to look at a certain handgun and then proceeded to pick up the
  • 32. Kyoto Protocol Of The Unfccc ( 2005 ) The Kyoto Protocol to the UNFCCC (2005) 1. Introduction Founded on the belief that humans are ultimately responsible for global warming, the Kyoto Protocol was signed in 1997 and made effective in 2005 with the aim of reducing national quantitative greenhouse gas emissions by 5.2% (compared with emissions in 1990) in industrialised countries worldwide. This would equate to a 29% cut overall by 2010. The protocol intends to specifically reduce global emissions of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride, HFCs and PFCs (www.kyotoprotocol.com). The protocol was later revised in its second commitment period stating that an 18% cut (compared with 1990) in emissions between 2013 2020 would be its next target. The Kyoto Protocol created three market based mechanisms...known as the carbon market to support its targets (UNFCCC). These mechanisms covered emissions trading, the clean development mechanism (CDM) and joint implementation. Combined, the mechanisms are geared towards encouraging sustainable development using technology and investment, reducing emissions in an economically viable way and stimulating developing countries to reduce their emissions too. International cooperation was essential for the Kyoto Protocol to be enforced and achieve its aims. As the protocol seeks to reduce greenhouse emissions globally, efforts are needed from all industrialised countries emitting harmful gases into the Earth s atmosphere. Without adequate participation

Utopia by Thomas More and The Prince by Machiavelli Essay Utopia by Thomas More and The Prince by Machiavelli Thomas More s Utopia and Machiavelli s The Prince both concern themselves with the fundamental issues of how a society works and maintains itself. The goals behind the two works, however, differ considerably. The goal of Utopiais to illustrate the maintenance of an ideal society and the goal of The Prince is to instruct a prince, or ruler, on how to maintain his state. On the surface these two goals may seem similar but the difference lies in the way the authors handle the subject of power. As a manual, or handbook if you will, Prince treats power as a necessity, a goal, to be worked towards and maintained, almost at all costs. Utopia, a fantasy, treats ... More s true focus does not even lie in power, but in the seeking of ideals. A second comparison that one could make is that the types of governments also have inherent qualities within them concerning power. In the Prince, the government is either a theoretical monarchy or dictatorship. Mach focuses on the manipulation of the people to main tain power. The minor details do not matter. The importance lies in the fact that in a monarchy
  • 34. or dictatorship one person has the power in a society and all the rest serve only to obey him. Starkly different is More s creation. His society is a true communist one and it could also be argued that it is also a democracy. Leaders are elected by the people, who make their own decisions freely. Nothing, not even power, is owned in that society by an individual. The power is distributed, thus empowerment. The capitalism of Machiavelli s world, the idea that the ends justify the means strongly ties in with this contrast. That idea stated above correlates with the next point. In an idealistic society whose goals are justice and truth, it is impossible for one s goal to be power. More s idealistic attitude and Mach s lack of one are both indicators of how they view

At an older age though, all those innocent thoughts are taken away and that boy who was once a kid is faced with the reality of the world. A child who is six old years old and younger shouldn t have to deal with all that negative information about death, rejection, replacement, and the truth about society. A movie containing all of that should not be seen by kids who are younger than seven, which is why Tarzan is not an appropriate movie. The movie may have a happy ending, but the parts that lead up to that ending are not as happy as one may think. Connie Zweig and Jeremiah Abrams are the authors of The Shadowof Everyday Life. They describe The Shadow as having negative emotions and behaviors rage, jealousy, shame... suicidal and murderous tendencies (Zweig 324). All of these are presented in the movie. At first, Tarzan begins with a couple that escape a burning ship and then are forced to go into the jungle with their son Tarzan. Meanwhile, two gorillaparents are smiling, cradling, and cuddling with their baby gorilla. One night, when the gorillas are sleeping, the baby gorilla sees a frog and runs after it. He soon stops in front of a leopard. The leopard lets out a big roar that wakes up the gorillas. They run to try to get to their son as fast as they can, but the leopard catches the baby gorilla and leaves with him (Tarzan). Now, even though it didn t show what happened

As the old man quietly wept, the boy was yelling, If you don t stop crying instantly, I will no longer bring you bread. Understood? This is an example of how life in the concentration camp causes a boy to throw aside his relations for the sake of his own survival. A second example is that of Rabbi Elihou and his son. While there is no fixed curriculum or one specific model to emulate, the Reggio Emilia approach does have some essential components, some fundamental ideas about how children learn most effectively. The utmost is the idea that the young child is inherently competent not only as a learner but as an initiator. The child has preferences and opinions that have value and should be listened to with respect and care, knowing that they have much to offer their classroom community and community at large. This pedagogy plays a large role in shaping the Reggio classroom. It allows the children to pursue projects which are interesting and meaningful and then allowing adequate time to follow those projects with passion. The Reggio Emilia approach is an emergent curriculum because it is developed and shaped by the interests of the child, through negotiations between the child, parents and teachers. This is done in a Reggio classroom by in large and small group projects in which the children engage. The projects involve planning, hands on activities, research, and representation through a variety of visual media. The observant teacher collects documentation which is a vital component of the Reggio philosophy in the form of written anecdotes, samples of children s work, photographs and videos.
