support effective management in organisations
Executive assistants are employees of a company who supports the executive, CEO or manager and
has ability to make decisions that affect the company. In addition, the executive assistant will
perform responsibilities involving research, communications, correspondence, and office
management. In some organisations, the executive assistant will attend meetings or conferences in

A management style is an overall method of leadership used by a manager. There are two main
management styles: Autocratic (leader makes all decisions unilaterally) and Permissive (leader
permits subordinates to take part in decision making and also gives them a considerable degree of
autonomy in completing routine work activities). Combining both categories with democratic and
directive styles give four distinct ways to manage:
Directive Democrat: Makes decisions participative; closely supervises subordinates.
Directive Autocrat: Makes decisions unilaterally; closely supervises subordinates.
Permissive Democrat: Makes decisions participative; gives subordinates latitude in carrying out
their work.
Permissive Autocrat: Makes decisions unilaterally; gives subordinates latitude in carrying out their
work. Managers must also adjust their styles according to the situation that they are presented with.
Additionally, there are four quadrants of situational leadership that depend on the amount of
support and guidance needed: telling, delegating, participating and selling. Different styles depend
on the situation and the relationship behaviour and task behaviour. What s more, skills in
leadership, critical thinking and organization are three general attributes that employers look for by

3. Easter Island s A International Identity
Christy Cole
G115; FA14
October 29, 2014
Oceanography Places:
Easter Island Easter Island s colossally international identity is mainly associated with its
mysterious moai (the island s statues); however, more recently, Easter Island is being
recognized for its depleting resources and wildlife. Apart from the tourism generated by the
moai, Easter Island is a popular destination for scuba divers due to its pristine, clear waters.
There is concern about Easter Island s ocean life as it is home to nearly one hundred fifty unique
marines species that are gradually disappearing. These aquatic species make up the island s food
source as there are no large, indigenous mammals. In addition to tourism, these fish make up the
rest of Easter Island s economy. Even though humans have played a role in devastating the flora
and fauna, Easter Island s very location works against the native life forms.
Geographic Location:
Easter Island is exceptionally isolated. The closest inhabited neighbor is over two thousand
kilometers away, and Easter Island is over three thousand six hundred kilometers away from the
coast of Chile (Van Tilburg). As Easter Island is an intraoceanic volcanic island, it was created by
volcanic activity much like Hawaii ( Easter Island ). Easter Island is located on the Nazca Plate just
east of the Easter Plate. The Easter plate is categorized as a micro plate, and it rests along the
western border of the Nazca plate (see Figure 2). Along the border between the

4. War And Western Influence On The Country Of Rambutan
It has been years since I abdicated my thrown in favor of a Kaufman system. You see I was a
powerful leader in my country but I did wrong by my people. I clung to power through force and
suppression which led to my ultimate downfall. Much like Iraq my country of Rambutan was a
result of war and western influence. People of conflicting beliefs were thrown together under one
state and given a constitution to abide by. Western powers believed that a democracy and
constructed constitution would solve the deep seated rivalry between the Durians and the Ackee s
and a nation would transcend a religious identity. This was not the case in fact it made it worse.
Durians held the majority of the state and our hatred toward the Ackee went back to the creation of
our religionof Langsat. The people of the country were not aware of what a democracy was or
how it worked. It became a question of who controls the state and I was the answer. As a general in
the Durian militaryit was easy for me to seize control. Overrun with power and military loyalty the
Ackee became marginalized. Along with the rest of the population. Animosity between the two
groups grew by the day ethnic and religious war was a constant. Security was nonexistent I made no
attempt to open up economically because much like Tunisia, Rambutan was a rentier state. This
allowed political elites to dominate the country s wealth, leading to extraordinary inequality. The
productivity necessary to develop the economy was

5. Lean Six Sigma And Its Application
Abstract or Executive summary:
Lean Six Sigma is a widely known approach used for improving the processing and quality of the
products and services in an organization. Some of its major functions include improving quality,
removing waste, reducing variation and organization. There have been several studies that focus on
the combination of Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma. These applications mainly focused on the
private industry more than the government industry. Hence, the research aims to explore the
strategy of Lean Six Sigma and its application to the local government. The research uses a
qualitative and Descriptive Method to investigate the area of Lean Six Sigma tools in improving
the quality and processes within an organization. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the use of both strategies together could be challenging as few organizations have been
able to successfully integrate and apply the Green Lean Six Sigma. There are several factors that
influence the implementation of Green Lean Six Sigma implementation process.
Six Sigma:
In addition to this, Lean Six Sigma mainly focuses on eliminating waste and improving efficiency.
It consists of a combination of two strategies namely; Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma. Six Sigma
involves the Quality management of product which includes waste reduction, identifying defects if
any and also improving the quality. Six Sigma set its stage in the industry by Motorola Corporation
in 1980. Furthermore, It gained its popularity in 1990s.
Lean Enterprise:
When it comes to Lean Enterprise, it focuses mainly on reducing cycle time and also waste in the
process. Lean Enterprise was at first developed by Toyota Motor Corporation as the Toyota
Production System which became popular after 1973. The energy crisis facilitated the increasing
demand at that time. The term Lean Enterprise is used to broaden the scope of a Lean programme
from manufacturing to embrace the enterprise or entire organization . (Alukal, 2003)
Lean Six Sigma:
Therefore, Lean Six Sigma uses a variety of problem solving tools that analyze the process as well
as the nature of problem being studied. These tools also facilitate the organization and
simplification of the work

most interesting part of the video is hearing how multi million/large corporations view their

comparing individuals in cults to buying/joining a brand like Apple or Nike. These consumers feel
the need to belong and have the company of others. Emotional branding has become part of

to plant Appleseed s throughout the western colonialization in hopes of producing free food for

sales of the many apple trees and land he would come in to possession of. He also befriended
many people, and these people would always welcome Jonny as their family. Also, he made friends

8. Knowledge In The Giver
One of the most powerful abstract in the world is knowledge. It can change people s decisions
and the way they look at other people and how they view life. In the novel, The Giver, by Lois
Lowry, the author makes it clear that knowledge has the power to change dreams, opinions, and
fears.
Knowledge has the power to change people s dreams. For example, There s much more. There s
all that goes beyond all that is Elsewhere and all that goes back, and back, and back. I received all
of those, when I was selected. And here in this room, all alone, I re experience them again and
again. It is how wisdom comes. And how we shape our future (71). Jonas and The Giver know that
Elsewhere is a very important place. This is important because Jonas and the giver have a dream
of making a plan for Jonas to go to Elsewhere to release the memories to the community, which they
eventually do. The Giver also dreams of having his daughter back. You can understand then, that

morning s release. Jonas saw his father kill a little baby and realizing that when people are

understand death are Jonas and The Giver. One day, The Giver showed Jonas a memory of love.
He felt such love for Asher and for Fiona. But they could not feel it back without the memories.
And he could not give them those (135). After receiving the memory and knowing what love is,

9. Descriptive Essay On My Room
My bedroom is not a place for the entire community. However, it is just as comfortable to me as
someone else s room is just as comfortable to them. My room is comparably different though. It s
not just a place where I keep all my stuff and sleep all day. There s more to my private abode than
what meets the eye.
Walking on the hardwood floor feels like a punch to the bottom of your foot. The flooring creaks
throughout the house as if it were haunted. However, it s my private space out of the rest of the
world, so overall, it would be worthwhile to cherish it. The blue walls do not take much interest, but
the Eiffel Towerdecal and the dark brown trimming brings a bold touch. The room shape is
nothing special, just a small and box like. Dressers and bookshelves are crammed together from
wall to wall. The bed ends up finishing off the room. Having a memory foam mattress isn t hard
on any body part, it cradles the body with every movement. Black and white bedding adds to the
decoration of the room, and all my extra pillows and blankets brings a rainbow to the neutral
bedding colors.
My room could be the just as comfortable for rest as the next, but there s more to it than just having
the blankets and pillows. It s not just the peaceful warmth that engulfs a cold night either. Seeing
the dark of the night makes surrounding areas invisible until light is shone. The sound of the fan is

In the Dramatic family movie We bought a Zoo, directed by Cameron Crowe, Rosie Mee is a

13. Of Justice In William Shakespearer, Hamlet, And Thomas...
William Shakespeare s King Lear, Hamlet, and Thomas Hardy s Mayor of Casterbridge each
examine both the search for and the effects of justice. King Lear is a case study of a failed
monarch and his remorse for not having been a better king. Hamlet tasks a teenage boy with
avenging his father s death, prompting questions about morality and righteousness. The Mayor of
Casterbridgeis a man s attempts to reconcile his shortcomings with what he feels is right.
Tragically, in each of these works the search for justice, or the character s flawed understanding of
it, is ultimately unsuccessful, resulting in injustice towards others. King Learis defined by the
figurehead monarch s quest for what he sees as justice for himself. After Goneril and Regan
betray him by refusing to house his nights, King Lear calls upon the heavens avenge him and
punish his daughters with a storm. O heavens, he implores, If you do love old men, if your
sweet sway Show obedience, if you yourselves are old, Make it your cause. Send down, and take
my part (2.4.217 220). These lines, uttered in the raw emotion of a man who feels wronged by
those he loves, are representative of Lear s temper and distress when things don t go his way.
His daughters perceived insult to him spurs a helpless call for justice from the gods, a justice
Lear no longer can carry out because he has divested himself of power. Lear s inability to
forcefully delve justice This hearkens back to his overhasty reaction towards Cordelia

One of these has been the ability to save lives and create better medical treatment for all. A direct
result of this has been increased lifespan and the growth of the population. In the past fifty or so
year, the growth of population has boomed and has turned into overpopulation. Every corner of
India is a clear display of increasing population. Whether we are in a metro station, airport, railway
station, road, highway, bus stop, hospital, shopping mall, market, temple, or even in a social
/ religious gathering, we see all these places are overcrowded at any time of the day. This is a clear
indication of overpopulation in the country. Overpopulation is a function of the number of
individuals compared to the relevant resources, such as the water and essential nutrients they need
to survive. It can result from an increase in births, a decline in mortality rates, an increase in
immigration, or an unsustainable biome and depletion of resources. Overpopulation is a term that

Experts agree that our keeping our bedroom as free as possible from allergens makes a huge
difference in the quality of life for asthma and allergy sufferers. There are several steps one can
take to reduce the allergens in the bedroom. First, if possible, avoid carpet and rugs. This is not
always possible, especially if you are renting. If you cannot remove the carpet, then vacuum daily
with a hepa filtered vacuum (change filter often), paying close attention to areas behind and under
furniture, and have carpets professionally cleaned every three months. Use only curtains that can

prevent prisoners from escaping. The camp had barbed wire charged with electricity to prevent

extremely hard to cross. It was almost impossible to escape. If a prisoner escaped the ones that
remained behind suffered the punishment. The rule was that if one escapes, ten must die, and that

21. The Argument Against The Hip-Hop Group Public Enemy
Imagine a mind changing tour into ghetto life in the United States, the drugs, the violence, the
hopelessness. Think about political movements, riots, cries for change. Think of some of the
greatest modern artists among us. All these ideas stem from, bring awareness of, and originate in
classic hip hop. The advocacy of societal change, the inspiration its artists got from their songs, and
its impact on future artists have cemented Classic hip hop as the most influential music genre of all

Classic hip hop s debatable and political content advocates for societal change. The explicit
content which permeated classic hip hop was something that the music industry hadn t

anger for blacks growing up in the streets of Compton and Los Angeles, N.W.A. released a song
in which they took part in a fictional trial against the L.A.P.D ( N.W.A. ). The song highlights
offenses of brutality among police to the minorities living in such areas. By addressing a relevant

22. Christian Inaccuracies In The Bible
Introduction
Every day people are introduced to the Bible, whether it be through Christians or non
Christians. Christians will try to convince people that the Bible is true, while non Christians will
say that there are too many inaccuracies in the Bible for it to be true. As Christians, we should
take a look at what the other side has to say, so we are aware of what others believe and so that
we can accurately talk about the other side s claims. Another reason that Christians should
conduct their own research on the accuracy is so they can defend their faith and know why they
believe what they believe. There are many people in our would today that believe certain facts
and information to be true only because friends or family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This account was an early example that shows us that even before Jesus came, God the
Father performed miracles. Through research Dr. Gary Habermas, a scholar in New Testament
history and has conducted lots of research for providing sound evidence to support the New
Testament, discovered that many agree and recognize Jesus miracles dealing with healings and
exorcisms, but deny the nature miracles. The fact that Jesus miracles are listed and discussed
in each of the Gospels show proof that Jesus really did perform miracles. Dr. Gary Habermas
stated, medical studies of certain miraculous phenomena today indicate that we are still not
able to account for all such incident in purely naturalistic terms. That statement from Dr.
Habermas shows that one cannot account for the miracles through naturalistic elements, but rather
have to acknowledge that Jesus really did perform miracles. Dr. Gary Habermas is not the
only person that has looked into the miracles of Jesus. Craig Keener, a professor of New

Robert, a rather generous person, donated $2,000, substantiated by receipts, to multiple charities.
These charities include the Cancer Research Institute, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and the
American Red Cross. These cash donations would be limited to 50% of his AGI, $96,750. He did
not exceed the $48,375 donation limit. This deduction is on line 17 of Schedule A.
His tax preparer charges him $240 to prepare his annual tax return, as shown on line 22. He also

25. Advanced Technology Research Paper
As the human race advances more towards the future, we are able to discover more about our past
and better preserve our people and culture. Multiple technological advances allow different
researchers and explorers to excavate our past and predict the environmental future. The different
types of technology include an underwater mailbox system , Dropsonde Hurricane Sensors, and the
Light Detection and Ranging technique (LIDAR). In addition, the most advanced technology these
hunters have access to today is the Ground Penetrating Radar(GPR) technology. GPR is the most
advanced technology because of it s increased efficency and versitality when exploring ruins and
searching for artifacts.
Ground Penetrating Radar is more efficent for researchers and explorers due to the increased
scanning size, less time spent on manual labor, and the decrease in resources required to explore
archeological sites. NASA scientists compare the GPR technology to that of pushing a lawnmower

26. The Battle over Safe Injection Sites
Insite: The Battle over Supervised Injection Sites
In the 1990 s there was an epidemic of HIV outbreaks in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.
Injection drug users were found to be the leading cause of this, and a public health emergency was
declared (Fafard, 2012). The mortality and morbidity resulting from this increasing injection drug
use became a major political issue. This resulted in the adoption of harm reduction by the
government as one of their four pillars of their drug strategy (Fafard, 2012). Harm reduction is a
set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug
use (Boyd, 2013). In September 2003 Insite, North Americas first harm reduction supervised

There was also no increase of users relapsing into injection drug use, nor did it negatively influence
those seeking to stop drug use (Kerr et al., 2006). The research shows that Insite has not promoted
increased illicit drug injection, but rather it has attracted individuals with histories of injection drug
use.
Another claim put forth by the Conservatives is that SISs are harmful to communities. They
believe SISs create public nuisances, and threaten public safety (Broadhead, Kerr amp; Alice,
2002). Research on the other hand argues that SISs can address issues related to public. Since
Insite opened the public has noticed less public injections, less syringe droppage, and less
complaints about drug user nuisances (Potier et al., 2014). It also cleans up public environment
such as streets and alleyways. Drug use is still an illicit activity and it takes place in unsterile
environments such as behind dumpsters and shooting galleries. SISs provide sterile environments
for users and are a lot safer than shooting up in the streets. This leads to less public injection and a
better community environment (Potier et al., 2014). Local police data was also evaluated and
there has been no increase in crime, violence, or drug trafficking around Insite. There were no
significant statistical changes in rates of drug trafficking. There were 124 incidents in the year

The Portrayal of Illusion VS. Reality in A Streetcar Named Desire Have you ever submerged
yourself into a word of illusion to escape from the cold hearted reality of the world? This theme
of escaping from reality and into illusions is explored throughout the play, A Streetcar Named
Desire by Tennessee Williams. What exactly is the difference between illusion and reality? An
illusion is a deceptive idea or belief whereas reality is the actual state in which the world actually
exists. In A Streetcar Named Desire, the characters seem to divulge into their own fantasy when
encountered with a harsh reality. This concept is explored through each character s desire in
indulging in illusions versus their reality. The concept of illusion versus reality is most
predominantly displayed in the main character of the novel, Blanche DuBois. The initial battle
between illusion and reality began in the beginning of the novel when Blanche moves from Belle
Reve to New Orleans to live with her sister, Stella Kowalski, and her sister s husband, Stanley
Kowalski. Before moving to New Orleans Blanche was described as being devastated by the loss
of her estate and the death of her husband, Allan, and to escape dealing with this reality, she slept
around with a lot of men. To escape dealing with this shady past, she moves to Stella s house and
begins an illusion and lies about her past. Blanche s initial illusions were concocted by love. When

Global Impact of the Legalization of Medical Marijuana
Medical marijuana has become an extreme controversy for many different countries around the
world. According to the National Conference of State Legislation, twenty nine states in the United
States have legalized medical marijuana, (State) along with select countries around the world.
Different regions of the world have varying views and laws for medical cannabis. Medical
marijuana can drastically improve the quality of ill people s lives, and ease pain that otherwise
make daily life miserable. According to two well known professors at University of Salerno,
cannabis has been used to relieve chronic pain, muscular cramps and neurological or spinal pains
(Bifulco and Pisanti). Although medical marijuana s purpose would be to alleviate pain, some are
concerned that it could be a gateway drug, which means it could potentially lead people to become
addicted to stronger substances.
California was the first state in the United States to pass laws making medical marijuana legal. As of
2017, thirty three American states or territories have passed similar laws regarding cannabis,
leaving twenty three states with the illegalization of medical marijuana (State). Other countries
within North America have also made medical marijuana legal, including Canada. According to
Canada s government website, medical marijuana has been legal since 2001 (Marihuana). Rob

4.Foreign keys
Foreign keys in database can be termed as relationship identifiers between two tables. For example,
the first table contains list of students. Each student is given an id. The second table refers to list of
students with different sports experience. The second table refers to the id in the first table to list
all the students with different sports experience.
Foreign keys should be indexed. The main reason is if they are not indexed and if the parent table
is updated or if few of the rows are deleted, then the child table needs to be scanned every time
which leads to huge slowdown of the execution time and ultimately affects the performance.
5.Views and Synonyms
Views and synonyms are used so that user can access objects stored in a distributed database as
local objects. They aid in hiding the actual location of the objects from the users. Views can
provide transparency between local and distributed database tables. For example, table Global can
contain list of departments, location and id.

My identity crisis started when I was about 9 years old. The realization that I was different from
friends, family, and my classmates were scary and hard to bare. As a young child, we are taught
and framed to be a certain way, think a certain way, and live a certain way according to the
family structure. Like most young girls I often fantasized about my wedding. What type of dress
I was going to wear, what colors I would pick and what type of dress my wife would choose. My
fantasies were often disrupted by the sound of my mothers voice instructing me to complete a task,
or letting me know she was home. At that very moment internal shame, and denial would set in.
This is not normal, a wife, why was I thinking about a wife? I don t like girls! I like Josh. That s
who I will marry, Josh. This type of self doubt and shame I would live with for years. What was
wrong with me, who am I, and why was my desires so different from my friends? Growing up I
kept pushing these feelings aside to follow the social norm. Often, I had thought about telling
my best friend, but the fear of being rejected or outed were way too much for a 14 year old to
deal with. I would go along with my friends, laugh about how cute the new boy was, put posters
on my walls of the most popular teen idols, and drool over the cute guy in the mall. Eventually I
would detach myself from a lot of my girlfriends and form friendships with guys. Guys were much
easier for me to relate to. I didn t have to talk about

40. Physician Assisted Suicide Should Be Legalized
Is it appropriate for an individual to end their life through physician assisted suicide in developed
countries, specifically in the United States?
Physician assisted suicide (PAS) is the voluntary termination of one s own life by the administration
of a lethal substance with the direct or indirect assistance of a physician. The assistance of a
physician for a terminally ill patient to commit their own suicide, has been a much debated topic in
developed countries. It is a much bigger topic in developed countries than in developing
countries due to the advances of medicine. It is argued that physician assisted suicide shouldn t
be legalized because of religious and moral reasons. Additionally, PAS is incompatible with the
doctor s role as a healer. However, physician assisted suicide should be legalized because patients
should have the option to choose if they want to end their life. It is a way for people to be able to
die with dignity and without indefinite suffering.
Medical advances in developed countries has saved the lives of more individuals than ever before.
Developments in the field of medicine have benefited terminal patients by reducing their pain and
suffering. Medical advances can however prolong the death of a patient when they are in the final
stages of dying. Many argue that this has resulted in patients not being able to end their life with
dignity, particularly individuals who understand they are terminally ill. Terminally ill patients can

This applies to all forms of media. As time has gone by the media has changed from what I

it was a big deal. In this time we trusted the media to tell us what was going on in the country. Not
to mislead us and not to lie to us. To give us the facts and not the opinions of a select few, I didn t

The next in the list, number five is one I think is used quite a bit: selective omission. Selective
omission is the media controlling access to information and the manipulation of public
statements. The media does this to make the subject look good on one side and bad on another
to bring on an emotional response of sorts, or maybe just to hide the truth from the public for
reasons unknown. Number six in the list of media violations is using true facts to draw false
conclusions. This one is self explanatory. It s not used a whole lot, besides in time of war or
conflict. The media uses this to make their side look better or worse, depending on what they are
trying to achieve. Do they want to be winners or do they want pity from their readers or
watchers? The last violation is the distortion of facts. The media does not always have the facts,
so they simply make some up. The internet is really bad about this. The violation of media
objectivity, are a list of bias that the media use to push their opinions of events in the way they
want us to see.
How dose bias apply to our media? In the list above I have seen first hand all of the seven
violations of media objectivity. For some examples I would like to look at a few articles from the
