Jazz And Lyrical Dance
There are many differences and similarities in Lyrical and Jazz dances. Lyrical is a type of dance
that is slow and flows very softly. Jazz is a faster moving dance and is very quick motions. Lyrical
dance challenges choreographers and dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion.
A lyrical dancer s movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. Lyrical jazzis a very
passionate and emotional dance style. It portrays certain emotions such as love, and tells a story
through every movement made. Lyrical dance has a relatively recent history and a genesis based
on the coming together of ballet with rock/folk/pop/alternative music and a variety of jazz dance
styles and modern dance. (To a much lesser degree, punk and swing

Compare And Contrast Rear Window
In both the movie, Rear Window, and the short story, It had to be Murder, there are numerous
similarities and differences that are noticed. Overall it is a story of a man that is wheelchair
bound at home who passes time by people watching. When people watching, the man named Jeff
notices unusual things taking place in a neighbors apartment. The neighbor named Mr. Thorwald
has an ill wife at home that is bed bound. The narrator Jeff one day realises that the wife Ann, is
no longer in bed and that Mr. Thorwald was beginning to act unusual.A big similarity in the movie
and the story is that Jeff is convinced that Mr. Thorwald murdered his sick wife. In both the movie
and story jeff tries to convince himself, and his friend thats a detective... Show more content on

An example of this is when Mr.Thorwald breaks into the main character Jeff s apartment and
tries to attack him. In the short story Thorwald catches on eventually to who knows about his
crime, finds out where Jeff lives, quietly breaks into his home and tries to shoot Jeff. This was
very intense and suspense full because from Jeffs point of view we did not know who was
breaking into the house, and what they would do, He d be up in a minute. He must be on the
stairs now, although I couldn t hear him. Not even a creak. A creak would have been a reliec,
would have placed him. This was like being shut up in the dark with the silence of a gliding,
coiling cobra somewhere around you (Hitchcock, 1954). Because we did not know who the
invader was and what weapon they could of had, we did not know if the bust would protect him.
This tension was executed slightly different in the movie. In the movie, we see the man walk up
the stairs, we are not aware of a weapon but once thorwald breaks in and starts to yell at jeff we
see that there is not gun. Jeff in this situation chooses to protect himself by using his camera flash
to stun the man (Woolrich, n.d.). This approach seems as if it will not protect him just like the bust
in the movie and we go throughout the scene tense, hoping it will buy jeff time or protect him

Tom And Tim Personality Traits
Tom and Tim display traits that can be found in the Big Five traits of humans. Tom scored high
on traits like timid, tense, fearful, and excitable. These traits fall into the cat dimension of
emotional reactivity and within the Big Five traits for human, it falls under neuroticism (Gosling
John, 1999). As for Tim, he scored high in traits like playful, curious, active, and energetic. These
traits fall into the cat dimension of energy and within the Big Five traits, it falls under
extraversion (Gosling John, 1999). Since both cats fall into two different and specific categories I
think it would be appropriate to go about their analysis using the single trait approach as well as
look at their situation as a whole to try to understand... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference in their personality is not due to their day to day lives since we adopted them.
They were born in different situations and I think that has molded their personalities today. Tom
s mother was a stray and had her kittens in a backyard. The kittens were found and I adopted
Tom with his brother. I was told Tom got hurt as a kitten a lot. He burned his nose on the stove,
fell from shelves, and was dominated by his brother. I think this is why he is more skittish and
exhibits the traits like timid, fearful, and excitable. He has experienced the consequences of
being curious and adventurous and is now very wary of a lot of things. Tim, on the other hand,
was born in a home and taken care of by an elderly lady who was always with him. We adopted
him from the elderly lady. Tim has formed a strong attachment to my mother and follows her
around. He has always been taken care of and has stayed within a confined, safe environment. I
think his security in my mother and not getting hurt as much as a kitten like Tom is why he
feels he can venture out more. Something else to take into account is that Tom has a lot of
health problems. We have been told he is in pain sometimes and tires more easily because he is
overweight. This can also contribute to his actions. Perhaps Tom would be more like Tim if it
were not for his health problems. Vice versa, Tim might be more like Tom if he had Tom s health
problems. My cats upbringing up until my family and I adopted them and their specific physical
situations play a big role in their respective

Say No to Animal Testing
I.Every year, over 100 million animals sit in U.S laboratories waiting to be burned, crippled,
poisoned and abused ( 11 Facts about Animal Testing par.1).
a.Animals deserve the same security and wellbeing as humans and therefore should not be
subjected to that kind of neglect and abuse.
b.Animals that are a part of some kind of new medication research rarely make it out alive. In
fact, 92% of experimental drugs that are safe and effective in animals fail in human clinical trials
because they are too dangerous or don t work ( 11 Facts about Animal Testingpar. 2), only
substantiating the point that animals will not react to medications the same way that humans will.

In 1992, 20 million were used. The decline may be due to the efforts of animal rights groups (
Animal Testing par. 6). ii. It is great the animal activist were able to make such a big impact on
the number of animal used in animal testing in the past; and if that big of an impact could be made
today, nearly twice the number of animal lived that were saved in the past would be saved today.
b.Although Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals started forming long ago, it wasn t
until many years later that certain legislation laws were passed setting standards for the care of
animals in laboratories.
i.In 1824, Jeremy Bentham founded the first humane society; the RSPCA, also known as the
Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The American Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals, or the ASPCA, was not formed until 1866 ( Animal Testing par. 15). In
1876, England passed the Cruelty to Animals Act which controlled the use of animals in certain
scientific experiments. The Animal Welfare Act was not passed in the U.S. until 1966. This act set
minimum standards for the care of animals in laboratories and required government run and private
labs to submit to random inspections by the USDA ( Animal Testing par. 17). ii. It is great that an
animal welfare act was passed, but that does not necessarily mean that it is strongly enforced. The

Employee Rights in the Workplace
Abstract Our world of technological advances is growing day by day. So much so, in fact, that
new laws are created to help determine the legal responsibilities and actions to be taken if an
incident occurs. The advantages and disadvantages of monitoring and being monitored will be
discussed. Some of the laws that represent the employer and employee as well as why an
employer would want to monitor an employee will also are discussed. Although employee
monitoring is beneficial to an employer for a variety of reasons, it is better for an employer to
leave an employees private life away from the workplace private.

The Eye That Is Watching Employee monitoring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(В¶6) A second reason would be to track the amount of time an employee spends away from the
computer or how long the employees computer is idle. (В¶6).
If we, as employees put ourselves in the employer s shoes, we would want to know if our
employees were being productive for the job that they were hired to do. If someone were to
perform a search on the Internet for employee monitoring tools, he or she would find that the
market is flooded with these types of tools. In 1993, there were an estimated 27 million worldwide
employees being monitoring in the workplace and that number is still growing (В¶8).
Advantages and Disadvantages of Monitoring Some of the advantages of employee monitoring
are that email use can be limited, viruses can be prevented from corrupting company computer
systems, inappropriate acts and uses of language can be intercepted before any harm is done,
and companies can stop leaks of proprietary information. Some of the disadvantages of employee
monitoring are, as stated earlier, an employees feeling of lack of trust, a feeling of no privacy at
work, and the possibility of employers being sued by employees for fear that their privacy has
been violated. One type of violation that can occur happened to a Massachusetts college secretary
while she was changing clothes in a place she thought was safe. (Kitchen, 2006). She felt violated
because her boss never informed her that she was being videotaped.

Radio Energy Research Paper
This section summarizes the pioneer works already done in the field of radio frequency energy
harvesting. This chapter all the research paper are appraised briefly. Literature survey provide
information about history, present scenario of research and latest advancement in microstrip
technology. 1.In this paper, authors conducted a survey of RF power density in urban
environment in order to design a rectenna for harvesting ambient RF energy from free space.
Although, RF energy spread out in free space have very low power density levels of 36nW/cm2 at
GSM 900 (BTx) and 84nW/cm2 at GSM 1800(BTx) which is a three times the MTx power

A prototype of proposed dipole antenna is fabricated and tested to validate the simulation
results. The proposed antenna is integrated with a Villard voltage doubler circuit using an
impedance matching network and the output voltage and efficiency are monitored. The overall
design of proposed RF harvesting circuit is accomplished by using the Agilent ADS and achieve
maximum efficiency of 46.82%[10] . 4.In this paper, they have developed a dual frequency
printed dipole rectenna for the wireless power transmission at 2.45 5.8 GHz. For operating at
dual band, a novel uniplanar printed dipole antenna is created using a coupling method. In this
combination of low pass filter and bandstop filters effectively blocked the higher order harmonic
re radiations [11]. 5.In this project a printed dipole antenna is being designed. Printed dipole
antennas are of use, when an electronic circuit is implemented on a printed circuit board (PCB)
and is in need of a simple and low cost compact antenna. These antennas has a fairly isotropic
pattern, which makes it a good transmitter as well as receiver for portable devices, in this paper
they have modified a US patent design owned by Motorola. The original design was for a
portable pager device operating in the 900 MHz band. For this design the dipole with their design
equations are discussed, but as suggested by the patent , it was slightly remodelled and adopted to
the 400 MHz band. The antenna was built

Scalia Originalism
Comparing the two, Dworkin is right to assert his belief that the US Constitution should not be
interpreted to be compatible with the concrete expectations of those long before our time. In
particular areas, the understanding of existing constitutional law goes out farther than the original
understandings of the framers of the Constitution. In many instances, Scalia s originalismwould fail
to fit current practices in society.
In regards to the interpretation of the US Constitution, Scalia s originalism is argued to be different
from other varieties of originalism, such as interpretations that look to the intentions of a statute s
authors to examine the meaning of the statute. According to Scalia, in order to understand content
from the text, jurists must use the judicial tradition and canon when they are faced with an obscure
passage. Addressing statutory interpretation, the jurist has the full body of judicial ... Show more

Not only does Dworkin reject Scalia s account, but advances a fidelity system of interpreting the
text. When comparing semantic intent and expectation intent, both he and Scalia place Scalia s
Constitution jurisprudence in the former. Dworkin also asserts that Scalia is reading into the
Constitution under new text when including the time restriction on the abstract moral principles.
Dworkin further analyzes that a text free of time dating qualifications cannot be interpreted to
include time dating. Therefore, the question asked should not be, what was cruel and unusual
punishment in 1791, but instead, what is cruel and unusual punishment? Dworkin further explains
in his analysis that judges must ask themselves whether punishments that the framers themselves
would not have seen as cruel, and whether discriminations the framers themselves believed to be
consistent with equal citizenship (school segregation as an example) are a denial of equal
protection of the

Hockey s Influence on Canada- A 5-page essay on the impact...
Sometimes it is easy to forget the game played on frozen ponds and backyard rinks, and get lost
in the overwhelming professional sport known as hockey. However, we strive to remember that
hockey became Canada s game because it made our never ending winter months more bearable .
The game gradually became a sport, then an entertainment industry. It seems like the lockout was
one of the biggest news stories of the year. Part of the amazing nature of the game is that it s
origins are fairly vague. However, we always remember that hockey is our game. It may not be our
official sport, like lacrosse is, but hockey is what Canadaseems to be most well known for, and it
continues to have immense influence on our free society, with its unique style... Show more content

When he was traded for multiple Los Angeles players in 1988, Canada was set into somewhat of
an emotional earthquake. This shows how dedicated we are to supporting our home grown players.
Another hockey great, who was purely Canadian, and proved his worth in the game of hockey,
is the amazing Rocket Richard. He was known for his excellence, but was also just as well
known for his great spirit and love for the game. He, as well as Gretzky, was given the honour of
being among the best in the Hockey Hall of Fame. In 1955, Richard was, without thought,
suspended from the league, Canada, especially Montrealers, went into complete uproar, inducing
numerous death threats upon the president Clarence Campbell, as well as what has been called the
worst riot in Canadian sports history. This example really shows how dedicated Canadians are
when backing up their own players, the ones they know are the best.
Yet another great example of hockey s influence on Canadian culture is the legendary Bobby Orr.
Orr was born in Parry Sound, Ontario, and was well known for his excellent defensive skills.
Although Bobby played most of his career for Boston, he has not been forgotten as having Canadian
birth, and that is something Canadians hold very important in their heart. They love him so much
for his homeland, despite the fact he played for our toughest opposition. He is another great player
that attracted a lot of attention, specifically

Women s Glass Ceiling Essay
Women are ready and able to occupy top executive positions. This was the case in the inspiring
story of Gert Boyle. When her husband died of a heart attack, he left her with a debt ridden
company and no knowledge on how to run it. In spite of that, thirty two years later, she has
turned Columbia Sportswear Inc. into a successful outerwear company, competing with North
Face and REI. She had to make difficult decisions along the way, including once she had to fire
55 employees as a strategy due to low margin profits. Nevertheless, Mrs. refocused on new ways
to push the company forward by listening to her customers requests. Since 1984, sales have grown

Almost half, 46.3 percent of the companies have no female directors, and 30 percent have no

undeniably underrepresented in most powerful executive positions (Gile Olivarez, 2009). Few
lines about the work of author Hilary Cosell (1985) who wrote the next few words, in her Book
titled Woman on a Seesaw: I think we re being terribly misled about how much success woman
as a group have achieved and about how real that success actually is. I think there may bitter day
of reckoning for many of us that s not too far off. A day where women will say: I gave up my
personal life, I destroyed my marriage, I did not have children, I gave up this and gave up that
and what was it for? I still have not been able to achieve the way men do, in the same arena they
do, the way I was told I could. Let s face it: women are no longer disenfranchised, but we do not
have anything like the power of the white male corporate establishment. I do not know if we will
ever acquire that kind of power but if we do, it is not going to be anytime in the near future
(Morrison, 1992). The words of Hilary Cosell are indeed discouraging but she seems to hit right on
some of the issues that women experience while placing themselves last. Subsequently, finding they
are giving up, and /or balancing family and career. Clearly, Mrs. Cosell struggled with the job

colour (purple, dark green or navy) and match it with high heeled sandals or shoes and an

Plus Size Party Wear Inspired By The 20s
If you are going to a thematic party or just want to break the routine, the perfect plus size party
wear can be inspired by the 1920s look. Get a black fringe dress, match it with some retro shoes,
net tights and one or two strands of beads and you will have a charming 20s carriage. Hair
accessories, such as a feather headband, are not mandatory, but they can make you stand out in the
crowd.
Be Playful: The Cloche Skirt
An alternative to dresses is a nice cloche skirt. A key element should be the high waist, so don t
throw yourself at any cloche skirt you find. Plain or patterned, wear it with a shirt and maybe a short
jacket over. Don t forget the high heels shoes or maybe a pair of short boots, and your are ready.

Jet Personal Statement Of Purpose Essay
JET Personal Statement of Purpose (SoP) Advice The Statement of Purpose is the part of the
application which likely plays a huge part in any success. Take your time crafting the best
Personal Statement you can. Your SoP should elaborate on the strengths you ve brought up in
your application, and should refer to the traits JET is looking for. Provide brief anecdotes about
experiences you ve listed in the application. Show some personality, give the interviewers a
reason to remember you. Also, have other people look over your SoP. This is a professional
calibre essay, not something for an intro English class. Special note for UK JET applicants: The
essays for Americans (Statement of Purpose) and the British (Personal Statement) are relatively
similar, so the following samples are of use. Also, there s no definitive correct way to write a JET
Personal Statement. Just as long as you ve answered clearly the three questions required on the
UK JET application it should be fine. You can answer the three questions distinctly or, if you
prefer, write it in one essay. However for ease of reading it s suggested you break it into sections.
Just don t muddle them up into an ill defined personal statement without letting your personality
shine through. An outline from JET UK for the personal statement is here. The Top Ten DO NOTS:

Motivation In The Scarlet Ibis, By James Hurst
Fate Overrides Motivation (Hook) Motivation, when used to push a person to their highest
potential, can cause both greatness and disappointment. (Bridge) In James Hurst s story, The
Scarlet Ibis, Brother pushes Doodle to the limit teaching Doodle activities that he would have never
had the opportunity to do without the motivationand determination to reach greatness. (FS1)
Throughout the journey of learning to walk, swim, and run, Brother motivates Doodle to keep
pushing so that he could be like the other kids before he started school. (FS2) Doodle, born
physically impaired, tries his best to follow his brother s orders and make him happy, but this leads
him to his death. (FS3) The motivation in this short story is represented by three symbols: the
scarlet ibis, the wagon, and the coffin, which all demonstrate the motivation Doodle and Brother
have to use to overcome the obstacles they face. (Thesis) Motivation can be used as a compelling
force to strive for greatness, but can lead to upsetting results when it is used to the extent as it is in
the Scarlet Ibis, by James Hurst, which is demonstrated by the symbols of (I) the scarlet ibis, (II)
the wagon, (III) and the coffin. (Topic)(I)An ibis (MA) shows up one day, by motivating itself to
travel more than it ever has, similar to Doodle, who has to walk, swim, and run, but (MB)
Doodle and the ibis end with the same fate. (Rewording of MA) The scarlet ibis and Doodle
motivate themselves to do more than expected and overcome the odds. They exhaust
themselves, but still keep pushing. (m1MA) Aunt Nicey foreshadows Doodle s fate by stating,
Dead birds is bad luck... Specially red dead birds! (Hurst 5). (m2MA) The scarlet bird means
danger is coming Doodle s way. (Rewording of MB) The ibis and Doodle accomplish a lot with
motivation, but end with the same destiny. (m1MB) When the ibis dies, Its long, graceful neck
jerked twice into an S, then straightened out, and the bird was still... Its legs were crossed and its
clawlike feet were delicately curved at rest (Hurst 5). Similar to the Ibis death, when Doodle dies,
He lay very awkwardly, with his head thrown far back, making his vermilion neck appear unusually
long and slim. His little legs,

Flexible Organization
A proper flexible organization provides its work force arrangements where employees are given
greater freedom to balance their work and personal commitments such as family, higher education,
community activities, religious commitments, professional development, and general interests.
Above is Atkinson s model of a flexible firm. He argued that firms increasingly seek 4 kinds of
flexibility functional, numerical, pay, distancing.
Functional flexibility is a qualitative approach to work, and refers to management s ability to deploy
and redeploy particular sections of the workforce on a wide range of tasks in response to market
demand as and when required (Sparrow 1998 cited in Teicher Holland 2006 p. 241 242). To ensure
that this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flexible work arrangements has its pros, unfortunately it does have its disadvantages as well.
First of all, it is important that employers need to recognize that flexible work arrangements are
not always appropriate for all people, jobs or industries. For example, if companies allow its
service workers to arrive to work at different hours, customer service may suffer. Potential
customers are forced to either wait or seek somewhere else. This also concerns manufacturers;
many factory operations rely on employees to arrive at the same time, because they depend on each
other for the smooth flowing of production.
In its hard form it can also mean the intensification of work by redressing jobs to include a greater
variety of low skilled tasks without any skill development (Teicher Holland 2006 p. 242)
Critics also contend that flexible programs often leave managers in difficult situations. As Martha
H. Peak wrote in Management Review (1994) Far too often, flex is embraced В… for its family
friendly aspects long before the corporate support needed to manage it takes root. In these
companies, flex policies are outlined in the employee manual but implementation is left up to
individual managers. Then, when managers try to implement these programs, they discover that to
be fair, flex requires them to treat different employees differently.
Telecommuting and other flexi place arrangements can be disastrous if employees are

Why Do People Suffer Cost For Performance Faster And More...
Taking on many different task and multitask is not something many are gifted at. Sometimes doing
one task at a time becomes more beneficial then doing two or more at a time. In this research
Brooklyn College students decided to test if performance faster and more accurate for task repeat
thank task switches and do people suffer cost in performance when switching between two data?
After trials of taskmultitasking with manipulations like task sequence and cue target delays it was
concluded that task switching can cause task cost and task switching is with and with out delays
are still slower then with no task switching.
Task switching Task sequence effect of reaction timeand error rate Taking on many tasks at the
same time can be something very hard to do for some and something others can easily exceed at.
Throughout our day we like to take on more then one task at a time to finish something faster or to
minimize time but research has shown that task switch can cost us time. Stephen Monsell (2003)
conducted a study called Task Switching and concluded that switching between tasks can cause us
time because the brain required loading time , which hinders the focus on the actual task. Loading
time lets our brain focus completely on one task and when that loading time isn t completed it
becomes hard to focus on that specific task; let alone execute it correctly. This causes us to take up
time in between task switching because our brain tries to adjust to the task and

What Was The Role Of Magazines In The 1800 s
Magazines emerged as a medium for exchanging information shortly after newspapers became
popular, though they had different appeals. Magazines varied in content, ranging from information
about the latest scientific discoveries to opinion pieces to pictures of wars; all were interspersed
with advertisements boosting consumerism. The main purpose of a magazinewas to entertain and to
amuse, and do it quickly. The 1800 s started with the popularity of the literary review, featuring
works by popular authors, including well known transcendentalists like Ralph Waldo Emerson
(History of Magazines). Some magazines began ranking works, creating the concept of a best
seller. These made it easier for the common person to access and understand great works of fiction
as well as essays. Earlier magazines had been more scholarly, but had not grabbed the attention of
the public.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These specialities often coincided with professions such as art, music and law (History of

read mainly by more elite members of society. Due to the technical nature of the articles oriented in
these magazines, esteemed editors were in high demand. The articles were written by Philosophers,
lawyers, scientists, anybody skilled at the subject matter in question (History of Magazines). Even
though the creators of such magazines were highly educated, people with lifestyles devoted to
something other than what they were reading about were able to understand the material, though
they often did not take the opportunity.
When illustrations became more prevalent, some magazines embraced it. Leslie s Weekly was a
magazine including illustrations, and shot up in popularity during the American civil war (Unwin).
Around 1890, photography began to supersede illustrations, but the art still lived

Summary Of Powhatan Genocide
Disease and Genocide
All through American history, diverse sorts of warfare from different landmasses have settled in
this country. By the seventeenth century, the measure of English pioneers had expanded hugely,
while the Indian pilgrims who were Indian boss, Powhatan, had diminished from 14,000 to 600.
More than 95 percent of Powhatan s pioneers was eliminated because of the diminishing in
populace of the Indian pilgrims. The creator of this section clarifies how, because of the differing
qualities, the measure of tribes and pioneers that got away and were annihilated was high and it had
a negative effect on them.
Stannard contends that Columbus brought the Europeans who were gone for decimating the

Dns, A Domain Name System
2.1.2 DNS SPOOFING: DNS is a Domain Name System. DNS contains all IP addresses and name
of the websites in its database in the form of records called resource records and are placed in the
hierarchal manner. DNS spoofing is a similar type of MITMA when compared to ARP cache
poisoning. DNS spoofing is a technique used by hackers to provide false DNS information to the
host while accessing a website. When users try to gain access to a particular website, a request will
be first sent out the local DNS server for the IP addressof the website which the user wants to
access. Once it receives the request the DNS server does a search in the database to find the
particular IP address of the website, once if identifies the ip address of the website it immediately
send a response to the user browser regarding the IP information.
FIGURE 2: DNS Request Query If the requested IP address is not found in the database of the
DNS server, it will then forward the request to a higher level DNS server in the hierarchy. It is
due the hierarchical nature of the DNS structure of the internet, DNS server need the ability to
communicate with each other in order to find the ip addresses of the websites requested by the
users. It is reasonable to expect the local DNS server to know the name mapping to the local
intranet server. It is termed as Recursion, the request from one local DNS

Examples Of Rite Of Passage
I interviewed my Mother s rite of passage she experienced going from single to married. She
explained that Vietnamese weddings are one of the most important ceremonies in Vietnamese
culture. Marriage is a big step that changes a Vietnamese woman s life because marriage is the time
they leave their own house and familyto enter to a new house and new family. My mothersaid she
was very nervous at that time because she did not know how her life will be at the new house with
her husband s family. I asked her how she knew my father. She said that my grandmother

A few days before the wedding, my father and his family visited my mother and her family with
round lacquered boxes known as betrothal presents. It composes of areca nuts and betel leaves,
tea, cake, fruits, wines and other delicacies which covered with red cloth and carried by
unmarried girls or boys. The gifts brought by the bridegroom to be are placed on the ancestral
altar. Joss sticks and lights are lit and incense is burned. My mother and father ceremonially
bowed before the altar. After this, my mother went to another room and my father took over the
entertainment of the guests, acting as a member of my mother s family. After a long period of
time, my mother s father removed the gifts from the altar, thanked everyone, and divided the
edible gifts into two parts, one smaller than the other. The smaller part was given back to my
father s family indicating that they have been far too generous and that my mother s family is not
greedy. This also indicates good luck and a close alliance between the two families. Later, the other

1.0INTRODUCTION The Sealed Air corporation is committed to market leadership through
technological innovation. Ten years ago, the company was first to market with a highly successful
coated air bubble packaging protection product, AirCap. However, market trends indicate a rapid
displacement of coated bubble by a technologically inferior yet inexpensive uncoated product.
Burgeoning demand for uncoated bubble poses a direct threat to the long term viability of the
technologically superior, premium priced AirCap. Thus Sealed Air is situated at a critical
standpoint. It can either continue to deal exclusively in the manufacture of high end coated bubbles
emphasizing performance over price, or segment the market by introducing an... Show more content

2.3 Internal AnalysisSealed Air s strengths lie in its technological leadership, which include a
number of manufacturing process patents. The company has a strong global presence, and owns
SIBCO, the only marketer of uncoated bubbles in France. The company has a consumer
orientation, strong sales, loyal distributors, and a knowledgeable commission based sales force
that specializes in consultative selling. Sealed Air s weakness include a product portfolio that
excludes uncoated bubble and is so broad it overburdens its sales personnel. The prime
opportunity in the market is for the company to leverage its strengths to enter the uncoated bubble
segment. The rapid displacement of coated by uncoated bubble constitutes a salient threat. A
detailed SWOT analysis can be found in Appendix D. 3.0 SEGMENT EVALUATION 3.1
Arguments in Favour of Introducing Uncoated Bubble It is of critical importance that Sealed Air
address the threat presented by the growth of the uncoated bubble segment, which outstrips that of
coated bubble in the US and Europe. Serving the lower end of the market is consistent with the
company s customer focused market leadership and provides distributors with a full line of
product. In addition, there appear to be a number of segments that may be serviced by uncoated

Further, uncoated bubble would require minimal capital as

The Louisiana Purchase Affected The Boundaries Of The...
The Louisiana Purchase affected the boundaries of the U.S. because when Jefferson bought the
land, the boundaries were not clear. Spain claimed the border was about one hundred miles west
of the Mississippi River, while Jefferson was under the impression that it was around eight
hundred miles further west, which was defined by the crest of the Rocky Mountains. This lead to
four different government funded expeditions. The first was in 1804 when Lewis and Clark led
an expedition westward to determine the upper reaches of the Missouri River. Throughout the
expedition Lewis and Clark were instructed to study the Indian culture, such as plants and animals.
They were able to explore the Indian culture when they stayed their first winter in huts beside the
Mandan Indians. Without the help from the Indians they would not have survived the winter.
They also had to draw out the geography of the West. After the treacherous journey, they reached
the Pacific Ocean on November 7, 1805. They made their journey back to St. Louis and arrived
back in September 1806. The other three expeditions that took place between 1804 and 1806 were
to determine the southwestern border. The first group went down the Red River to the Ouachita
River, ending in current day Arkansas. The second group went west into eastern Texas along the
Red River and the third group ended up going too far into the Spaniard s Territory, which caused
them to get arrested and then released soon after. The Adams Onis treaty

Essay On Citizen Kane
This film was directed by Benjamin Ross in 1999. The film is about a movie that was released
about sixty years before this production. It is odd to me that in those sixty years, no one had
chosen to create this film until Ross thought about it. It is weird to see a movie about another
movie. It is obvious that a recreation is never the same than the original work, but I feel like this
movie truly demonstrated some of the aspects and difficulties that Orson Wellesexperienced for his
film, Citizen Kane. If I were Orson and had gone through these many hardships for a movie, I
probably would have given up. Orson s determination was greatly shown through this movie.
Although it is ranked as one of the worst movies due to its camera work and imaging, I think it
did a great job in visualising Orson s dreams. It is strange that Orson decided to create a movie
based on a man who simply offended him. I also find it admiring that he decided to go after a man

Hearst was a public figure. This film was very successful and although I have not seen it, so I

In Drawing a Line in the Gay Wedding Cake Case by John Corvino discusses the dispute between
the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop and Charlie Craig and his fiancГ© David Mullins. Craig and
his fiancГ© were awfully discriminated by the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop as he refused to
make a cake for the couple s wedding. He refused due to his religious beliefs and claims he was not
discriminating based on sexual orientation as he offered to sell them items like a birthday cake or
cookies.
The U.S Supreme will be hearing this case and should side with Craig and his FiancГ© as they
are victims of such discrimination. The owner should not have refused to make a couple simply

Exploring Multi Project Management And Its Impact On...
empirical research has focused on individual projects., however, most large manufacturers have
several products lines and constantly develop new products to replace existing products or to add
completely new product lines. Each project within a firm has at least some linkages both
technologically and organizationally with other on going projects and past projects within the
firm. Therefore, it is very important managing of different projects interact organizationally or

has been little research that undertaken and explores multi project management and its impact on

least in part to the high costs of developing and manufacturing new products or product variations
in markets for automobiles and other industries such as consumer electronics. In these markets,
demand has slowed or even declined, while the cost of money in Japan has increased due to rising
interest rates and drops in the stock market and real estate values [10]. These firms need to improve

Feudal Warrior DBQ
In a time when exploration and travel was limited, polar opposite parts of the world were most
likely different, so it makes sense that their warriors would be completely different, right? This is
however, not the case for the warriors of Medieval Europe and Japan; the knights and samurai,
respectively, who are more similar than we think. These warriors arose during a time when feudal
governments ruled the lands in both reaches of the word, the warring lords and Daimyos needed
military support and protection. In turn, these warriors were in high demand and were given land
by these lords and daimyos in exchange for support and protection, creating the arise of the warrior.
However, many believe that these two warriors are worlds apart, however they are much more
alike than believed. This is for two main reasons, including their general embodiment and warrior
like makeup (armor and training). A variety of things including moral values, social class, loyalty,

Talk Shows
TALK SHOWS The television talk show is, on the face of it, a rather strange institution. We pay
people to talk for us. Like the soap opera, the talk show is an invention of twentieth century
broadcasting. It takes a very old form of communication, conversation, and transforms it into a low
cost but highly popular form of information and entertainment through the institutions, practices
and technologies of television.
The talk show did not originate over night, at one time, or in one place. It developed out of forty
years of television practice and antecedent talk traditions from radio, Chatauqua, vaudeville and
popular theater. In defining the talk show it is useful to distinguish between television talk

Successful talk show hosts like Mike Wallace, Johnny Carson, and Barbara Walters bridge
generations of viewers. The longevity of these super stars increases their impact on the forms and
formats of television talk with which they are associated.
Television talk shows originally emerged out of two central traditions: news and entertainment.
Over time hybrid forms developed that mixed news, public affairs, and entertainment. These hybrid
forms occupy a middle ground position between news and entertainment, though their hosts (Phil
Donahue, Oprah Winfrey, and Geraldo Rivera, for example) often got their training in journalism.
Approximately a third of the major talk show hosts listed at the end of the essay came out of news.
The other two thirds came from entertainment (comedy in particular).
Within the journalistic tradition, the names Edward R. Murrow, Mike Wallace, Ted Koppel and
Bill Moyers stand out. News talk hosts like Murrow, Koppel, and Moyers do not have bands,
sidekicks, or a studio audience. Their roles as talk show hosts are extensions of their roles as
reporters and news commentators. Their shows appear in evening when more adult and older aged
viewers are watching. The morning host teams that mix happy talk and information also generally
come from the news background. This format was pioneered by NBC s Sylvester Pat Weaver and

the characters. In the movie the characters are shown completely different than they are in text. For
example, in the text Grendelcould not speak and was a wolf like monster, but in the movie he was

example is Grendel s mother, in the text Grendel s mother looked very similar to him including

Douglas MacArthur was a US soldier, born in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. The son of a Union
army hero during the Civil War (they are the only father and son to win the Congressional Medal
of Honor) and a mother ambitious for his success, he trained at West Point (1903), rose steadily
in the army, and demonstrated his bravado on a secret mission to Mexico (1914). In World War
1 he commanded a brigade in combat in France (1918), where he earned a reputation for bravery
(wounded three times) as well as foppery he carried a muffler and a riding crop into the line, but
not a helmet or a gas mask. After serving as the superintendent of West Point (1919 22), he

and go to Australia. In 1942 5, as commander of the Southwest Pacific area (1942 5), he
organized an island hopping offensive that resulted in the return of US forces to the Philippines
(Oct 1944). Supreme commander of the Allied powers, he presided over the Japanese surrender

Japan to purge itself of its militarism and to adopt more democratic ways.
On the outbreak of the Korean War (Jul 1950), he became commander of United Nations forces in

November 1950, he forcefully advocated an extension of the war into China. This led to conflict
with President Truman, who relieved MacArthur from command (11 Apr 1951). This caused great
controversy; MacArthur returned home to the hero s welcome he had not yet enjoyed; and
concluded his address to Congress with his citation of an old military song, Old soldiers never die,
they just fade away . Talk of his running for president came to nothing, and after

The Death Of The Moth Analysis
The Death of the Moth by Virginia Woolf
In the death of the moth, the author Virginia Woolf compares the fear of death to the struggle of
life by observing a little moth as an example of anyone or anything alive striving to survive. She
started her narration by the plural form of the moth moths as a way of describing the whole
community that is committed to the same fate; however, talking about such a small living being
means that if a tiny creature like moths suffers the fear and the struggle of life what would be the
reaction of bigger creatures or even humans. The innate sense of surviving is implanted in every
single alive thing. The author describes the moth and herself as she is distracted by the work done
on the field and how it is hard to keep concentrated on her book as she was captivated and
fascinated by the moth s movements as well as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even invisible creatures have a life to care about. Woolf sees the real humans life through this
small critter and how they would fight to lasting. The author understands that suffering is part of
the process of life; she doesn t help the moth to right himself because she is aware of the fact of
death and she knows that his death is approaching. Linking this story to her personal life, proves
that she is a conflicted woman who suffered in the past from many painful situations that she
overcame by her innate sense of survival. She is perhaps comparing the moth s attempt to survive
to her own. She knows that death is inescapable in life and that no one ever won the battle of life
over death. A desperate and hopeless tone was maintained throughout the essay where it was
perfectly and nicely developed which makes the reader feels the exact same pity that the author
feels for the moth. The reader s feels emotionally connected to this moth as much as the author is
which makes her appeal to pathos is obvious and effective since the reader visualizes the moth s

Analysis Of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Genetics Essay
Analysis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Genetics
Christopher Elliott
Brandman University
Analysis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Genetics
Over the past decade, the medical community s understanding of chronic illnesses has greatly
increased. This increase is the result of improvements in technology and techniques that have
clarified some of the unknown mechanisms associated with disease. For example, innovations in
genetic sequencing have allowed researchers to analyze the genetic variables and abnormalities that
could contribute to an individual s development of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In fact,
over 20 different genes have been identified that increase one s susceptibility of developing ALS.
Therefore, an analysis of a recent research study, which elaborates on the genetics of ALS, is
essential to understanding these types of investigations and how they are significant in modern
medicine. With that being said, the purpose of this paper is to review a recently published
investigation pertaining to ALS genetics by Cady et al. (2014) in JAMA Neurology.
Review
ALS is a devastating disorder that has an incidence rate of 5,000 individuals and a prevalence
rate of 30,000 (Abel, Powell, Andersen Al Chalabi, 2012). According to Abel et al. (2012), the
onset of ALS is between the ages of 40 and 70 and has no distinct ethnic or racial boundaries. ALS
can be subdivided into two categories: Sporadic and Familial. Individuals with sporadic ALS do not

experience a customer has with the service from a holistic viewpoint. It gives not just the end to
end view of the experience, but also exposes the behind the scenes work that shows how the
experience is designed and more importantly how it was delivered.
The process of building a service blue print involves the below steps:
1. The identification of the service process, that is supposed to be blueprinted
2. The identification of the customer segment / customers who are supposed to experience the
service
3. Picturing the service from the customer s perspective
4. Picturing the actions of the contact employee (onstage and backstage), and/or technology actions
5. Linking the contact activities to the needed support functions
6. Adding the evidence of service for every customer action step Blueprinting a service helps to
display the real moments of the service provision and provides a better understanding of the
process and service success factors. The drill down approach starting from the customer action to

The lawfulness issue is more complicated, as the shoplifting defense for the purposes of the
statute can be successfully applied to defeat claim of false imprisonment. However, an
unreasonable belief of suspected shoplifting and racial profiling would leave room for the
argument that the Millers have a valid claim. The second issue element in the confiscation of
iPhone is not at issue because this was not an instance of shoplifting. Therefore, the only
element issue here is detention. Under the rule recognized by Georgia courts, confiscation of
Charlene s phone probably is not a detention. A.The security guard s searching on Charlene for
stolen CD might qualify as a detention, because the search is against Charlene s will. By the
presence of security guards will allow Charlene to argue the search conducted by the security
guard is against Charlene s will and accordingly a fear that force would be used if she did not
submit to the search, regardless of the fact Charlene acquiesced to the security guard s search.
Georgia courts acknowledged that a detention need not consist of physical restraint, but may arise
out of words, acts, gestures, or the like, which induce a reasonable apprehension that force will be
used if plaintiff does not submit; and it is sufficient if they operate upon the will of the person
threatened, and result in a

Effects of Internet Travel Booking Sites on Travel Agencies
General Introduction
Since the birth of the Internet, many people have been using its resources to accommodate their
travel needs. Traditionally, people use a travel agent to book their travel plans, but with the
convenience of the internet, some might think travel agencies would no longer be needed. The
travelers are the front line personnel in retail travel agencies providing services to travelers based
on their knowledge and experience (Vasudavan and Standing... Show more content on

On the other hand, some authors say that travel agents provide better service than the internet,
especially when making complex travel arrangements, answering questions, handling problems and
maintaining a relationship with travel consumers.
Methodology
Participants
During spring 2012, 20 random participants were selected to take a paper form survey. These
participants were chosen from the general public. The survey consisted of 20 ranking questions and
all participants were given the same survey. The questions investigated the satisfaction of the
customers with internet travel services, travel agent services, and cost comparison between the two.
Instrument
The instrument consisted of 20 questions with three constructs related to the satisfaction of the
customers with internet travel services, travel agent services, and cost comparison between the
two. The construct of internet satisfaction related to how satisfied the customers were with their
previous booking experiences on the internet. The construct of travel agent satisfaction related to
how satisfied the customers were with their previous booking experiences with an agent. Cost
comparison related to how the customers previous experiences compared to each other in terms of
cost. The participants rated each question as 6 = strongly agree, 5 = agree, 4 = slightly agree (all
some form of agreement), 3 = slightly disagree, 2 = disagree, and 1 = strongly

Functions Of Effective Internal Control System
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
Banks occupy a critical position in a complex financial system that supplies the money and credit
needs of the economy. The unique characteristic of a commercial bank is that it also creates money,
and it is this particular feature of the commercial banks which distinguishes them from non banking
financial institution. Banks ability to promote growth and development depends on the extent to
which financial transactions are conducted with trust and less risk. If the foundation on which a bank
(s) are built lack institutional, government and above all public confidence, such a bank may
collapse. So therefore, it is essential that every single bank must have an internal control system
were the internal audit department makes sure that their accounting principles provide an effective
means of recording and reporting monetary transactions, providing organisation information and
securing the company s asset from fraud and misappropriation (Achibong, 1993).
BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY A system of effective internal control is a critical component of
all banks management and a foundation for the safe and sound operation of banking organizations
system. Strong internal controls can help to certify that the aims and purposes of banking
organisations will be met; the banks will achieve lasting cost effective goals and keep dependable
monetary and administrative reporting systems. Such a structure can also help to make sure that
the bank will act in

What Does A Sport And Whether Or Not Cheerleading Should...
When someone tells you to think of a sport I m sure the first thing that comes to mind is football, or
basketball, or maybe baseball. But what about cheerleading? When you think of cheerleading do
you just think of it as an activity that consists of chants on the sidelines with big pom poms, or do
you think of it as a sport with extreme stunting such as tumbling, mounting, and tossing? The
question of whether or not cheerleadingis or should be recognized as an official sport has been
debated since 1997 and still makes its way to court every few years. Throughout this research
paper I will explore the question of what defines a sport and whether or not cheerleading should be
considered one.
Currently there are three different types of cheerleading you can participate in. The first form of
cheerleading is Sideline Cheerleading (High School/ College Cheer). Sideline cheerleading s
primary purpose is to serve as support group for athletic programs in the school, as well as
entertaining the crowd through cheers, stunts, and dance. Competitive Cheerleading (All star
/ College Cheer) is the second form of cheerleading and can be a mix of school squads and all star
gym squads. For competitive cheerleading you compete against other squads or gyms with a two
minute and thirty second routine. In these routines, the cheerleaders perform extreme tricks and
higher level stunting and tumbling than sideline cheer in hopes of getting the highest scores
possible. The last form of

Essay on The Indoor Air Quality of Natatoriums
The indoor air quality of natatoriums has become a significant health hazard, particularly regarding
competitive swimmers. The lack of regulations and legislature has made this situation worse.
HVAC systems, Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning, are designed to control the air temperature.
They have many different uses, for example, regulating the humidity and fresh air turnover rate.
However, they do not clean the air . As said in the USA Swimming article The Air Quality Issue,
...air quality is directly affected by the water quality, i.e. bad water = bad air! This bad air they
speak of stems from the chloramines within the water. Chloramines are chlorinecompound that

Some of the physical symptoms attributed to disinfection byproducts include coughing, eye and
nose irritation, anemia, stomach discomfort, damaged hair and skin. Severe symptoms include
wheezing or aggravating asthma. It has also been found that the routine breathing of irritants may
increased sensitivity to other types of irritants such as fungi and bacteria. Improperly balanced
chlorinated pools can actually cause severe asthma. These findings may explain why swimmers are
more prone to exercise induced asthma than athletes in other sports. Results show that nitrogen
trichloride or trichloramine is a cause of occupational asthma in swimming pool workers like
lifeguards and swim instructors, says Dr. K. Thickett of the Occupational Lung Diseases Unit at the
Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. In Dr. Thickett s study, his subjects either stopped taking inhaled
corticosteroids altogether, or their asthma symptoms decreased significantly once they were placed
in an environment away from the swimming pools. Dr. Thickett s study has been supported by
research from other European and Australian sources. Outdoor aquatic facilities have plenty of
fresh air and UV light, which means they are not as susceptible to the chloramine problem.
Chloramine formation can be accelerated by a wide variety of aquatic activities.

  • 2. Jazz And Lyrical Dance There are many differences and similarities in Lyrical and Jazz dances. Lyrical is a type of dance that is slow and flows very softly. Jazz is a faster moving dance and is very quick motions. Lyrical dance challenges choreographers and dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer s movements attempt to show the meaning of the music. Lyrical jazzis a very passionate and emotional dance style. It portrays certain emotions such as love, and tells a story through every movement made. Lyrical dance has a relatively recent history and a genesis based on the coming together of ballet with rock/folk/pop/alternative music and a variety of jazz dance styles and modern dance. • 3. Compare And Contrast Rear Window In both the movie, Rear Window, and the short story, It had to be Murder, there are numerous similarities and differences that are noticed. Overall it is a story of a man that is wheelchair bound at home who passes time by people watching. When people watching, the man named Jeff notices unusual things taking place in a neighbors apartment. The neighbor named Mr. Thorwald has an ill wife at home that is bed bound. The narrator Jeff one day realises that the wife Ann, is no longer in bed and that Mr. Thorwald was beginning to act unusual.A big similarity in the movie and the story is that Jeff is convinced that Mr. Thorwald murdered his sick wife. In both the movie and story jeff tries to convince himself, and his friend thats a detective... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is when Mr.Thorwald breaks into the main character Jeff s apartment and tries to attack him. In the short story Thorwald catches on eventually to who knows about his crime, finds out where Jeff lives, quietly breaks into his home and tries to shoot Jeff. This was very intense and suspense full because from Jeffs point of view we did not know who was breaking into the house, and what they would do, He d be up in a minute. He must be on the stairs now, although I couldn t hear him. Not even a creak. A creak would have been a reliec, would have placed him. This was like being shut up in the dark with the silence of a gliding, coiling cobra somewhere around you (Hitchcock, 1954). Because we did not know who the invader was and what weapon they could of had, we did not know if the bust would protect him. This tension was executed slightly different in the movie. In the movie, we see the man walk up the stairs, we are not aware of a weapon but once thorwald breaks in and starts to yell at jeff we see that there is not gun. Jeff in this situation chooses to protect himself by using his camera flash to stun the man (Woolrich, n.d.). This approach seems as if it will not protect him just like the bust in the movie and we go throughout the scene tense, hoping it will buy jeff time or protect him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Tom And Tim Personality Traits Tom and Tim display traits that can be found in the Big Five traits of humans. Tom scored high on traits like timid, tense, fearful, and excitable. These traits fall into the cat dimension of emotional reactivity and within the Big Five traits for human, it falls under neuroticism (Gosling John, 1999). As for Tim, he scored high in traits like playful, curious, active, and energetic. The kittens were found and I adopted Tom with his brother. I was told Tom got hurt as a kitten a lot. He burned his nose on the stove, fell from shelves, and was dominated by his brother. I think this is why he is more skittish and exhibits the traits like timid, fearful, and excitable. He has experienced the consequences of being curious and adventurous and is now very wary of a lot of things. Tim, on the other hand, was born in a home and taken care of by an elderly lady who was always with him. We adopted him from the elderly lady. Tim has formed a strong attachment to my mother and follows her around. He has always been taken care of and has stayed within a confined, safe environment. I think his security in my mother and not getting hurt as much as a kitten like Tom is why he feels he can venture out more. Something else to take into account is that Tom has a lot of health problems. We have been told he is in pain sometimes and tires more easily because he is overweight. This can also contribute to his actions. Perhaps Tom would be more like Tim if it were not for his health problems. Vice versa, Tim might be more like Tom if he had Tom s health problems. So much so, in fact, that new laws are created to help determine the legal responsibilities and actions to be taken if an incident occurs. Some of the laws that represent the employer and employee as well as why an employer would want to monitor an employee will also are discussed. If we, as employees put ourselves in the employer s shoes, we would want to know if our employees were being productive for the job that they were hired to do. If someone were to perform a search on the Internet for employee monitoring tools, he or she would find that the market is flooded with these types of tools. In 1993, there were an estimated 27 million worldwide employees being monitoring in the workplace and that number is still growing (В¶8). Advantages and Disadvantages of Monitoring Some of the advantages of employee monitoring are that email use can be limited, viruses can be prevented from corrupting company computer systems, inappropriate acts and uses of language can be intercepted before any harm is done, and companies can stop leaks of proprietary information. Some of the disadvantages of employee monitoring are, as stated earlier, an employees feeling of lack of trust, a feeling of no privacy at work, and the possibility of employers being sued by employees for fear that their privacy has been violated. One type of violation that can occur happened to a Massachusetts college secretary while she was changing clothes in a place she thought was safe. (Kitchen, 2006). First of all, it is important that employers need to recognize that flexible work arrangements are not always appropriate for all people, jobs or industries. For example, if companies allow its service workers to arrive to work at different hours, customer service may suffer. Potential customers are forced to either wait or seek somewhere else. This also concerns manufacturers; many factory operations rely on employees to arrive at the same time, because they depend on each other for the smooth flowing of production. In its hard form it can also mean the intensification of work by redressing jobs to include a greater variety of low skilled tasks without any skill development (Teicher Holland 2006 p. 242) Critics also contend that flexible programs often leave managers in difficult situations. Spain claimed the border was about one hundred miles west of the Mississippi River, while Jefferson was under the impression that it was around eight hundred miles further west, which was defined by the crest of the Rocky Mountains. This lead to four different government funded expeditions. The first was in 1804 when Lewis and Clark led an expedition westward to determine the upper reaches of the Missouri River. Throughout the expedition Lewis and Clark were instructed to study the Indian culture, such as plants and animals. They were able to explore the Indian culture when they stayed their first winter in huts beside the Mandan Indians. Without the help from the Indians they would not have survived the winter. They also had to draw out the geography of the West. After the treacherous journey, they reached the Pacific Ocean on November 7, 1805. They made their journey back to St. Louis and arrived back in September 1806. The other three expeditions that took place between 1804 and 1806 were to determine the southwestern border. The first group went down the Red River to the Ouachita River, ending in current day Arkansas. The second group went west into eastern Texas along the Red River and the third group ended up going too far into the Spaniard s Territory, which caused them to get arrested and then released soon after. • 23. Essay On Citizen Kane This film was directed by Benjamin Ross in 1999. The film is about a movie that was released about sixty years before this production. It is odd to me that in those sixty years, no one had chosen to create this film until Ross thought about it. It is weird to see a movie about another movie. It is obvious that a recreation is never the same than the original work, but I feel like this movie truly demonstrated some of the aspects and difficulties that Orson Wellesexperienced for his film, Citizen Kane. If I were Orson and had gone through these many hardships for a movie, I probably would have given up. Orson s determination was greatly shown through this movie. Although it is ranked as one of the worst movies due to its camera work and imaging, I think it did a great job in visualising Orson s dreams. It is strange that Orson decided to create a movie based on a man who simply offended him. I also find it admiring that he decided to go after a man who was much larger and important in the... I think that it is somewhat invasion of privacy that Orson created this movie based on a man s life, but I do not find it illegal because Hearst was a public figure. This film was very successful and although I have not seen it, so I can not state my opinions on it, it is ranked as number one on the Best 100 Films. Exploring Multi Project Management And Its Impact On... empirical research has focused on individual projects., however, most large manufacturers have several products lines and constantly develop new products to replace existing products or to add completely new product lines. Each project within a firm has at least some linkages both technologically and organizationally with other on going projects and past projects within the firm. Therefore, it is very important managing of different projects interact organizationally or relate to each other technically for a firm to leverage its engineering and financial resources, as well as an existing technology and design, across as many projects as possible. Nonetheless, there has been little research that undertaken and explores multi project management and its impact on either market or organizational performance. In recent years Auto manufacturers became more cared about the efficiency. They have faced severe profitability problems, which are related at least in part to the high costs of developing and manufacturing new products or product variations in markets for automobiles and other industries such as consumer electronics. In these markets, demand has slowed or even declined, while the cost of money in Japan has increased due to rising interest rates and drops in the stock market and real estate values [10]. Feudal Warrior DBQ In a time when exploration and travel was limited, polar opposite parts of the world were most likely different, so it makes sense that their warriors would be completely different, right? This is however, not the case for the warriors of Medieval Europe and Japan; the knights and samurai, respectively, who are more similar than we think. These warriors arose during a time when feudal governments ruled the lands in both reaches of the word, the warring lords and Daimyos needed military support and protection. In turn, these warriors were in high demand and were given land by these lords and daimyos in exchange for support and protection, creating the arise of the warrior. However, many believe that these two warriors are worlds apart, however they are much more alike than believed. Like the soap opera, the talk show is an invention of twentieth century broadcasting. It takes a very old form of communication, conversation, and transforms it into a low cost but highly popular form of information and entertainment through the institutions, practices and technologies of television. The talk show did not originate over night, at one time, or in one place. It developed out of forty years of television practice and antecedent talk traditions from radio, Chatauqua, vaudeville and popular theater. These hybrid forms occupy a middle ground position between news and entertainment, though their hosts (Phil Donahue, Oprah Winfrey, and Geraldo Rivera, for example) often got their training in journalism. Approximately a third of the major talk show hosts listed at the end of the essay came out of news. The other two thirds came from entertainment (comedy in particular). Within the journalistic tradition, the names Edward R. Murrow, Mike Wallace, Ted Koppel and Bill Moyers stand out. Analysis Of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Genetics Essay Analysis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Genetics Christopher Elliott Brandman University Analysis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Genetics Over the past decade, the medical community s understanding of chronic illnesses has greatly increased. This increase is the result of improvements in technology and techniques that have clarified some of the unknown mechanisms associated with disease. For example, innovations in genetic sequencing have allowed researchers to analyze the genetic variables and abnormalities that could contribute to an individual s development of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In fact, over 20 different genes have been identified that increase one s susceptibility of developing ALS. Therefore, an analysis of a recent research study, which elaborates on the genetics of ALS, is essential to understanding these types of investigations and how they are significant in modern medicine. With that being said, the purpose of this paper is to review a recently published investigation pertaining to ALS genetics by Cady et al. (2014) in JAMA Neurology. The question of whether or not cheerleadingis or should be recognized as an official sport has been debated since 1997 and still makes its way to court every few years. Throughout this research paper I will explore the question of what defines a sport and whether or not cheerleading should be considered one. They have many different uses, for example, regulating the humidity and fresh air turnover rate. However, they do not clean the air . As said in the USA Swimming article The Air Quality Issue, ...air quality is directly affected by the water quality, i.e. bad water = bad air! This bad air they speak of stems from the chloramines within the water. Chloramines are chlorinecompound that unlike the traditional chlorine, they cannot burn off in the... Some of the physical symptoms attributed to disinfection byproducts include coughing, eye and nose irritation, anemia, stomach discomfort, damaged hair and skin. Severe symptoms include wheezing or aggravating asthma. It has also been found that the routine breathing of irritants may increased sensitivity to other types of irritants such as fungi and bacteria. Improperly balanced chlorinated pools can actually cause severe asthma. These findings may explain why swimmers are more prone to exercise induced asthma than athletes in other sports. Results show that nitrogen trichloride or trichloramine is a cause of occupational asthma in swimming pool workers like lifeguards and swim instructors, says Dr. K. Thickett of the Occupational Lung Diseases Unit at the Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. In Dr. Thickett s study, his subjects either stopped taking inhaled corticosteroids altogether, or their asthma symptoms decreased significantly once they were placed in an environment away from the swimming pools. Dr. Thickett s study has been supported by research from other European and Australian sources. Outdoor aquatic facilities have plenty of fresh air and UV light, which means they are not as susceptible to the chloramine problem. Chloramine formation can be accelerated by a wide variety of aquatic activities. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
