What Are The Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet 1968 To...
Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is one of the most well known stories of all time and
perhaps the most famous play ever. As one might expect, the play has been made into a movie many
times. The 1968 version directed by Franco Zeffirelli and the 1996 version directed by Baz Luhrmann
are two of the most popular films. The older version attempts to create an authentic representation of
the play, while the 1996 version places a modern twist on the story. At first glance, the movies are
completely different, but upon a deeper look, there are several similarities between the two. This is
best demonstrated in the balcony scene. There are several aspects that make the balcony scene from
the 1968 movie different from the 1996 movie. The most visible of these is the setting. The 1968
version takes place on the Capulets balcony, just like the play. It is also unique in the costumes and the
blocking. The costumes are what people would wear during the time period Shakespeare wrote the
play. The blocking has the two main characters starting out far apart from each other, then coming
together before going apart again. The acting also was different in Zeffirelli s movie. The actors faces
were easy to read, helping the characters to appear as teens in love. They also spoke their lines with a
rhythm, as if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scene takes place in a pool, rather than on an actual balcony. Also, instead of the actors coming
together from far apart, they are close together the whole time in Luhrmann s rendition, making the
scene seem somewhat unrealistic. The costumes Juliet and Romeo were wearing were more modern,
so they did not even look like costumes. Perhaps due to having more experience, the faces of the
actors were difficult to read. They also spoke their lines as if in an everyday conversation, as opposed
to being actors in a play. These characteristics are why the 1996 version varies from its 1968

Ship Breaker
Joseph Conrad once said, It is the mark of an inexperienced man not to believe in luck . Nailer, the
main character of Paolo Bacigalupi s book Ship Breaker, wasn t born lucky, he was born a ship
breaker. Ship breakers are child and adult laborers who spend their days starving, poor, and working
away to take the anything valuable off old ships for the big companies. Throughout Nailer s life, he
has suffered through various unfortunate events. However, with a strong belief of luck and having
other superstitions, his life becomes more manageable. In Ship Breaker, Paolo Bacigalupi
demonstrates that being superstitious and believing in various degrees of luck allows people to more
easily feel in control of uncontrollable situations. The ship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is important to realize in today s society because if believing in luck and superstition can give
people a sense of control then this information can be used for the improvement of the mental states of

made his life much more satisfying at the end of the book. Therefore, Conrad s words hold true, it

Advantages Of Drone Survey
1.0 INTRODUCTION: What is drone survey?
Drone surveying is the operation of finding contour, dimension, position or other particulars of the
earths surface by using remote controlled aircraft. A drone is basically an unmanned aircraft. It is also
called an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or a flying robot. It can be remotely controlled or fly by
itself through flight plans that are software controlled. Such flight plans are in their embedded system
that works with GPS. Drones are known to be used for military purposes, but they are also used in
different activities like traffic monitoring, weather monitoring, surveillance, fire fighting, search and
rescue, film making, recreational activities, etc. It is also used in surveying, which we will ... Show

Costs And Benefits Of Public Expenditure Programs
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to critically examine and discuss the underlying theme of
differences of opinion related perceptions of costs and benefits associated with public expenditure
programs. In this course, three of the lessons that were closely connected were cost benefit analysis,
public expenditures related to social insurance and income maintenance, and expenditure programs for
the poor. The goal of this analysis is to demonstrate how perceptions of costs and benefits for
expenditure programs is often based more on rhetoric than actual fact. This paper begins with a brief
review of the take away of the three lessons from which this analysis is based. Then, a full
examination of the relationship and issue of the perception of costs and benefits of public expenditure
programs is provided.
Cost Benefit Analysis The first lesson of importance related to this analysis was the lesson on cost
benefit analysis. On the surface, cost benefit analysis is supposed to be a truly objective analysis of the
costs associated with a particular project or program, and the benefits of that program (Driesen, 2005).
If the costs outweigh the benefits, then the project or program is not undertaken. However, if the
benefits outweigh the costs, regardless of what the perception might be about the project or program,
then it is pursued. The deeper issue that must be considered is whether cost benefit analysis is purely
an objective task that is based solely on fiscal

Osama Bin Laden s Selfish Personality
Osama Bin Laden had a very selfish personality. He had many people from Al Qaeda be suicide
bombers. He also had many members of his group hijack 4 planes. 2 of which crashed into the twin

Child Safety Is The Number One Concern
You would be amazed at the amount of regulations that go into an automobile, but even more
surprising would be the amount of regulations that the seat you sit in must pass to make sure that the
driver and passengers are safe and comfortable. Out of all the pieces in the interior of your car, the
seats have the most regulations. This is really not so surprising if you think of the amount of time and
money that car companies spend on making people safe. Whether it be adults or children, safety is the
number one concern. And since child safety has been at the forefront of the manufacturers focus as
well as a few news stories every week we will concern ourselves with one specific regulation that is
essential: The Child Restraint Anchorage System. The specific standard for this system is FMVSS
225, and can be found at the NHTSA website or with a Google search on the web. The specific
regulation is as follows: 571.225 Standard No. 225; Child restraint anchorage systems. S1. Purpose
and scope. This standard establishes requirements for child restraint anchorage systems to ensure their
proper location and strength for the effective securing of child restraints, to reduce the likelihood of
the anchorage systems failure, and to increase the likelihood that child restraints are properly secured
and thus more fully achieve their potential effectiveness in motor vehicles. For this discussion, we will
be focusing on the anchors in the rear of the car, not the wires that are

Sahara Desert Large Mammals Flipped Into Extinction
African Lions are well known for their majestic look, especially males: with a height of four feet, a
length up to eight feet and a weight up to 500 pounds, there is no denying their magnificent
appearance. The treatment of these impressive creatures seems to be a great topic of debate in Africa
though. According to the article Sahara Desert s Large Mammals Slipping into Extinction by the
Environment News Service, human interference has been one of the biggest factors in the massive
decrease of the lion population. However Maryke Van Der Merwe, a manager of a popular lion ranch
in South Africa, states in Lions Bred for Slaughter by Patrick Barkham that their lions are not involved
in any hunting activity, but instead they are provided with proper love and affection on her ranch.
After reading both articles, it is obvious that the treatment of African Lions is extremely inhumane. ...

Importance Of Data Storage Network Security
Importance of Data Storage Network Security
There would be no need for securing data storage network if you can save your information on the
network without anyone altering the content. However, it is almost impossible for you to save your
information in an unsecured data storage network and retrieve it just the way you saved it. In today s
world where hackers are rampant everywhere, the need to secure data storage network becomes a
major concern for security experts.
Over the years, our team of security experts have published a series of articles regarding information
security, and also created many awesome video courses, which are highly valuable in tackling the
information security challenges.
Before we highlight the importance of data storage network security, it is wise to talk briefly about
data storage on its own. Of course, we all know the reasons why we need to save information in a
secure place. And knowing fully that those information are saved in the data storage network, it is
important to device strong security measures to protect the network from possible harm.
Data storage network security is the process of securing data storage architecture and protect the
information therein from unauthorized people. The reason for data storage network security is to
ensure that the information is well protected from unauthorized individual. Definitely, if the storage
network is not secured, it s almost 100 percent certain that the stored information would be

Annotated Bibliography On Animal Poaching
Jorge Ramirez
Professor Andrew Franz Esq.

Elephant Poaching When one imagines what elephants are like in the wild, they imagine giant animals
roaming the land eating plenty of food and drinking plenty of water. The average person may not
know, or understand, that there are people that practice the illegal killing of elephants, or poaching, in
order to obtain and then sell or trade that ivory for whatever is valuable to the poacher. Poaching is
illegal because it has led to the significant decline in the elephant population in recent years and can
very well lead to severe endangerment or worse, extinction. Elephants are more than just animals that
graze on the land, but they are animals that can spread the seeds of the plants they eat. Elephants roam
a large area of land, and therefore, spread seeds via their dung. This is great for plants that have no
ways of transportation, except for falling next to their parent plant. Along with the vast spreading of
seeds, the seeds that are in elephant stomachs are softened, which means the seeds are able to
germinate faster than seeds that have not been softened (Scientificamerican). Due to this there must be
lots of plants that have been dependent on elephants because of co evolution. The poaching of
elephants is an issue that must be looked into not only because of reasons stated above, but also
because the extinction of a certain species can only cause a domino effect of cataclysms. The matter of
poaching

Persuasive Essay On International Adoption
In today s society, the idea of adoption is an open and welcome one. When an adoptive family begins
to explore the idea of adopting a child, it is easy for them to quickly become overwhelmed with
information, questions and decisions (American Adoptions, Inc). However, one of the biggest problem
most adoptive parents could run into is whether they are wanting to adopt domestically or
internationally. With the number of celebrities advertising the ease of adopting internationally and the
publicizing conditions the orphans live in it makes American families want to adopt internationally.
The number of children in the United States in foster care approved for adoption and the number of
newborns born unwanted does not make the news so it domestic adoption is not as glamorous.
Domestic adoption should be the first choice to help improve our country and give the children born in
the United States a chance at a family.
In recent years international adoption has been presented as an easier and quicker adoption process.
The process is not as easy as it seems and some countries forbid adoption of their children to families
in the United States. When adopting from a different country a person must be in agreement with
adopting different ethnic or racial groups. Depending upon the country from which you adopt,
international adoption can be very costly, ranging anywhere between $32,000 to $66,000 dollars,
depending on the child s country of origin. Travel costs to the country

The Downfall Of Enron
This is a movie or rather a documentary on the downfall of Enron which was the seventh largest
company in the United States. It took 16 years for them to rise from 10 billion dollars of assets to 65
billion dollars of assets and had managed to go bankrupt within a period of 24 days in 2001. This led
to the question of whether Enron is amidst an expensive scandal.
Some of the economic concepts that were identified in the documentary would be as follows. First,
Enron was built on the very concept of Mark to Market Accounting . Second, through instruments like
Special Purpose Entities and an Off Balance Sheet , Enron abused these instruments to deceive
investors by hiding relevant information required for the investors. Third, a few aspects in the movie
were based on Gregory Mankiw s ten principles of Economics. People respond to incentives, trade

way market failure is the market power. Market Power is basically the ability of a single person or

control over the electricity board and has unduly influenced the market prices by reducing the

ideally interfere in order to balance the prices between the demand and supply. This is also a principle

Argumentative Essay On Propaganda
By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an
extremely wretched life as paradise (Adolf Hitler). Long before the term Propaganda came to be, the
act of controlling the public s mindsets and opinions was still being practiced ever since mankind
came to be. People with ideas want to influence their beliefs on others. Propaganda goes way back to
the early times. In 1622, Pope Gregory XIII settled De Propaganda Fide which translates to the
Congregation for Propagating the Faith, which was a committee of cardinals of the Roman Catholic
Church. The De Propaganda Fide was intended to disperse Catholicism into Christian beliefs.
Propaganda remained a religious term throughout the 18th and part of the 19th century. Propaganda
began as ideologies inculcated by the Catholic Church. The people were persuaded by their faith
rather than on the reason. In 1939, Propaganda was the seed that rooted World War II. Truth is, World
War II was not just a battle between countries but a battle after people s minds. Propaganda has the
power to change people s opinions through art. Nowadays, persuasive techniques are used in almost
every fast food restaurant ads. The amount of Propaganda one is exposed to on a daily basis is bizarre.

Gender And Gender Roles In William Shakespeare s Macbeth
In the early 17th century, William Shakespeare wrote a tragedy based on a patron, King James I, of his
acting company. The tragedy was Macbeth, and it was about a Scottish nobleman who committed
unimaginable acts for his own gain and benefit simply because of a prophecy. Shakespeare had
demolished the stereotypes given by society to men and women in that time period by creating his
characters to be the exact opposite of what was expected. This is evident in Macbeth s opinion of his

The fact that Macbeth takes it upon himself to inform Lady Macbeth that he thought it d be good to
tell her, simply shows us that Macbeth is quite thoughtful and caring towards his wife, especially in
areas where she, as the woman of the house, is expected to excel in, such as being the perfect hostess
for the king. The second part of the quote is quite significant, as Macbeth uses an unfamiliar term of
endearment that is strong and powerful. My dearest partner in greatness. (1.5.10)This title is
empowering and important because it tells the audience a lot about how Macbeth perceives his wife.
His opinion of her is quite high, and he clearly sees her as an equal. He addresses her with respect,
love and equality which was unexpected of a man in the 17th century. This term of endearment
expresses his views clearly and leaves the audience with no room for confusion, as it is extremely self
explanatory. In the 17th century, women had many roles to fill; however, the role to be the perfect,
obedient housewife was the most important one. Women s proper role in society... was largely limited
to the domestic sphere. According to the article, Status Of Women In 17th Century Neo Classical Age,

Zone Defense Essay
The body has three main lines of defense against microbial pathogens according to Bauman. The first
two are termed innate immunity, they are quick acting and treat all invaders the same. The third line of
defense is called the adaptive immunity, is slower acting and are more specific in the treatment of the
invaders. This can easily be equated with the game of basketball; whereas if zone defense is the same
as innate immunity, when the team plays zone defense the team can quickly react to the offenses play
and they treat each player the same. When the defense plays one on one defense their reaction to the
offenses play can be slower however, they treat each player specifically. The body s adaptive

Without the helper T cells, the B cells would not complete their job. The T cells are divided into three
specific types; helper, cytotoxic, and regulatory. The helper T cells bind to the phagocytes that have
consumed a virus, bacteria or pathogen. Once the helper cells bind to the phagocyte they become
activated and then much like the B cells they replicate. The replicated cells then either become
memory cells or effector cells. The memory helper T cells last for many years and can respond quickly
to the same pathogen, virus or bacteria. The effector helper T cells release a messenger protein called
cytokine that act as alarms to the immune system (Bauman, 480). The effector helper T cells are what
also bind to the antigen on the MHC II B cells. However, the key is that the effector helper T cell has
to be specific to the antigen that is presented on the MHC II. So, the B cell and effector helper T cell
must be specific to that particular pathogen, virus, or bacteria for the B cell to be activated and then

Mesmer Magnetism Essay
According to German physician, Franz Anton Mesmer, the entire universe is connected by an invisible
thing know as animal magnetism. Mesmer believed that the entire human body was filled with this
magnetism and that it was carried through the body in a constant flow. Illnesses occur as the result of
the flow of magnetism becoming blocked off. Mesmer was able to cure his patients through several
appointments. Soon, high powered, influential members of society began to investigate Mesmer s
practices, this committee was called the Royal Commission. In order for Mesmer to cure his patients
he would sit opposite of them and would touch their finger and knees, he would also look into the
afflicted person s eyes (typically unmarried, rich, young ladies). After several appointments with
Mesmer the patients would experience a crisis and would be miraculously cured. Mesmer first started
curing his patients in one on one appointments, but soon he began to train others in this art, these male
understudies of Mesmer were called adepts. With the help of these adepts Mesmer was able to cure
more people at once. Mesmer, who was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

all the words with fluency, up until the fourth grade words were given, is when he began to have a few

the list that he was given to read. The words in which he seems to have difficulty with, were the ones
that consisted of words that that had letters that did not make sounds, for example, stampede. There

Taking a Look at the Arab Culture
Islam is the religion practiced by the Saudis and it governs the personal, economical, legal as well as
political lives. Islam basically started in Saudi Arabia. Many Muslims visit the country every year to
perform pilgrimage of the Holy Kaaba.
Among the obligations of Muslims, prayer comes first. As a Muslim, I pray 5 times in a day. Friday is
a holy day for Muslims. Most of the companies consider Friday and Thursday to be their weekend.
During Ramadan, Muslims observe fast starting from dawn till dusk and they are allowed to work for
only 6 hours in a day.
Where family values and culture is concerned, the tribe and family are basis of social culture. It could
be even seen in the naming conventions that we, the Saudis, tend to be cognizant of heritage, clan,
nuclear family and our extended family. We take responsibilities toward our families very seriously.
The families happen to be quite large and extended family happens to be very close. An individual
derives assistance and social network in bad times from his family.
When it comes to Arabic language, it would be worth mentioning to say that during Middle Ages,
mathematics and science received great boost in Arab Islamic far flung civilization, that stretched as
far as Asia. With the passage of time through commercial, scholarly and military contacts, Europe also
absorbed learning of the more advanced civilization. Contacts with Arab world did play important role
to simulate Europe s intellectual and cultural renewal in

Modern Technology The office s worker walk into every day has changed with time, but the changes
cannot be compared to the transformations that the tools of work have undergone. Today, every
employer must incorporate digital tools into the physical office space to keep up with the modern
trends of doing business. Apart from incorporating digital communication to physical office space, an
employer can choose to operate a virtual office. Such business locations only exist in cyberspace and
enable the employees to work from anywhere around the world. What employees need is phones,
laptops, and access to reliable internet. Business owners can adopt the use of office suites fit for the
kind of business they are engaged. Many companies are already using the Office 365 which enhances
collaboration and communication and also eliminates barriers created by physical distance and time
zones. Adoption of virtual offices is one way of cutting costs and improving work flexibility compared
to renting the physical office space. Moreover, there are virtual office plans that provide business
owners with professional mail handling services, reception, and call forwarding. Some virtual plans
also include occasional conference room rental and temporary workspace rental for professionals who
are home based.

An Article On Life s Goal Without Government Interference
Throughout history, every country had a body of government. Some strived and some opposed, in
which only the people that were under their rule would be effected. The way I see it, Freedom to do
what you want and living under the government s care is hard to keep in balance. My question is
would having absolute freedom be appropriate for people, is having the right to freely to pursue life s
goal without government interference important? Or would having your government guarantee that
nobody is in need preferable? For example health care or unemployment or even education. This is all
opinion based and there are many pros and cons to these situations but personally, I d rather have the
government having my back. Aiding me with education, helping me look for a job when I lost one and
paying for my medical expensive definitely helps the individual. Freedom to pursue life s goal without
government interference or government guarantees that nobody is in need. Those are the big questions
the average citizen wonder. In an article made by Roger Cohen . He was able to ask these questions to
both European and American Citizens. The numbers weren t surprising where 58 percent of
Americans chose freedom over state pledge to eradicate neediness. The opposite with for the
European citizens, where in Britain 55 percent chose State guarantees. In Germany, France and Spain
the numbers are higher with a 62 percent. As an American I understand why my fellow countrymen
would pick freedom.

Islam, Islam And The Beliefs Of Islam
Religion is the belief of a God, or Gods, and there are many different types of religion. Each religion
has different systems of worship and believes in some different things. Even though every religion is a
little different, sometimes they have some things in common also. Islam is a religion that believes in
one, eternal God, named Allah. The word of Allah is spoken from the angel named Gabriel, to
Muhammad. Muhammad is the founder of the Islamic religion. He was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia,
which is where the religion was founded, and he died in the year 632 A.D. Islam was founded in the
beginning of the seventh century. Like stated earlier, Muslims believe in one God. They also believe in
the angels, who are respected creatures, they believe in God s revealed books, including the Quran,
they believe in the Prophets and Messengers of God, where Muhammad was the last Prophet sent by
God, they believe in the Day of Judgement, which is when everybody will be resurrected based on
their beliefs and achievements, and they believe in Al Qadar, where God gives people free will.
Practicing and worshipping in this religion, has some rules, or standard guidelines, for everyday lifes.
These are called the Five Pillars of Faith. These include, Shahadah, Salah, Zakah, Sawm, and Hajj. To
start off with, Shahadah is the assertion of belief. It s when the people of the Islamic religion indicate

Should Juveniles be Tried as Adults? Juveniles deserve to be tried the same as adults when they

break through. Juvenile courts haven t always been known to the everyday person. The Illinois
Juvenile Court Act of 1899 was the first juvenile court established in the United States (Locked Up...).
The juvenile court was created to handle the offenders on the basis on their rather than their crime. In

abolishing them believe that the court is based on false premises. They believe that all it does for the
youth is cover up their actions. They feel as if juveniles are tried as adults they will get the full
punishment that is deserved. Juvenile courts fail to stop violence. They believe that they should be
punished for adult crimes if they are going to act in such manors (Should Juveniles...). While there are
many that want to abolish it there are still many that still agree with it. Teens and children aren t fully
matured and shouldn t be tried based on their immaturity. It is believed that changing the people the
juvenile hangs out with will change a lot. The juvenile court is based on a base to bases case that it is
to serve the extreme best of the juvenile. The main purpose of the court is to treat not to deter. Juvenile
courts are needed to keep hope of those juveniles that still have hope

many that disagree with the statement there are still many that think they laws should be more serious.

Examples Of Absurdism In The Birthday Party By Harold Pinter
Harold Pinter is one of the most prominent living dramatists of the age. The seventy three year old
Pinter, who has written twenty nine plays and twenty one screen plays and who has directed twenty
seven theater productions, is one of the early practitioners of the Theater of the Absurd which started
in the fifties. Absurd, which is one of the many different aspects of his works, functions as a means of
getting into the reality that is Pinter s main concern.
Harold Pinter belongs to the group of the twentieth century absurdist playwrights who came to
become known as the innovators of an Avant garde style in their playwritings by breaking away from
the old concepts of morality, religion and sentimentality. The post world war playwrights and writers
such as Beckett, Eugene Ionesco, Genet, Adamov and T. S. Eliot became well aware of the social,
political and economic tribulations that jeopardized the existence of modern man. The utter
helplessness of man and his futile efforts to escape resulted in the emergence of the theories of
absurdism and existentialism, and there was a shift in the definition of what was considered the real
and the unreal. Harold Pinter s play The Birthday Party explicates the sense of absurdity of human life
trapped in a claustrophobic atmosphere. The theme of absurdism in Pinter s The birthday Party
consists in the playwright s implication that there is no logical progression of the plot. ... Show more

Supervisory Platform and Evaluation System
In any school, student learning is the ultimate goal and the focus of an effective learning community.
In today s society, the education system is called upon to teach all students at high levels. It has been
established through significant research that teachers have a high impact on student learning,
according to the RAND Corporation, research suggests that, among school related factors, teachers
matter most. When it comes to student performance on reading and math tests, a teacher is estimated
to have two to three times the impact of any other school factor, including services, facilities, and even
leadership. In order to ensure that students have the greatest chance for achievement, it is vital that
school communities know that they have high quality teachers in place. To accomplish this task,
systems have developed that integrate set measures aligning what teachers do and what happens as a
result. These may include evidence of student work and learning, as well as, evidence of teacher
practices derived from observations, reflection, recordings, artifacts, and various forms of feedback.
Educational experts such as Marzano, Danielson, Stronge and others have published examples of
evaluation models. While they vary in emphasis and design, they are similar in that they attempt to
provide a framework for measuring the impact of a teacher on a student s learning. Clearly, this is a
daunting and challenging task and there is a risk involved in attempting to make something

The New England s New World
Essay 1
In order to practice religious freedoms, Puritans fled from England to the New World. The New World
represented potential and freedoms that were unattainable in England. The New England settlers
overcame adversities and created challenges that would go on to change the course of history. When
they first arrived, their inexperience was shown through the death of nearly half their colony in the
first year. The introduction of the Wampanoag tribe to the New England colony was such a crucial
component to their survival and a primary reason they were able to sustain and even increase their
population. The New England colony proved to be successful in establishing a necessary relationship
with the Wampanoag, thriving through their protestant work ethic, and ultimately creating a stable
settlement; however, they failed when it came to maintaining that stable relationship with the
Wampanoag, their lack of experience in the New World, and the hypocritical tendencies of their
actions.
When the Pilgrims first arrived, they were not hesitant about claiming land and getting right to work.
Their protestant work ethic ensured that they worked hard because there was a high moral obligation
to fulfill ones duty in worldly affairs. Worldly success is a sign of God s favor, so when they landed
upon an abandoned Indian village they took it as a sign from God that they were on the right path and
were being rewarded. They established communities of family farmers, which proved to be

  • 2. What Are The Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet 1968 To... Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is one of the most well known stories of all time and perhaps the most famous play ever. As one might expect, the play has been made into a movie many times. The 1968 version directed by Franco Zeffirelli and the 1996 version directed by Baz Luhrmann are two of the most popular films. The older version attempts to create an authentic representation of the play, while the 1996 version places a modern twist on the story. At first glance, the movies are completely different, but upon a deeper look, there are several similarities between the two. This is best demonstrated in the balcony scene. There are several aspects that make the balcony scene from the 1968 movie different from the 1996 movie. The most visible of these is the setting. The 1968 version takes place on the Capulets balcony, just like the play. It is also unique in the costumes and the blocking. The costumes are what people would wear during the time period Shakespeare wrote the play. The blocking has the two main characters starting out far apart from each other, then coming together before going apart again. The acting also was different in Zeffirelli s movie. The actors faces were easy to read, helping the characters to appear as teens in love. They also spoke their lines with a rhythm, as if ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The scene takes place in a pool, rather than on an actual balcony. Also, instead of the actors coming together from far apart, they are close together the whole time in Luhrmann s rendition, making the scene seem somewhat unrealistic. The costumes Juliet and Romeo were wearing were more modern, so they did not even look like costumes. Perhaps due to having more experience, the faces of the actors were difficult to read. They also spoke their lines as if in an everyday conversation, as opposed to being actors in a play. These characteristics are why the 1996 version varies from its 1968 ... • 5. Costs And Benefits Of Public Expenditure Programs Introduction The purpose of this paper is to critically examine and discuss the underlying theme of differences of opinion related perceptions of costs and benefits associated with public expenditure programs. In this course, three of the lessons that were closely connected were cost benefit analysis, public expenditures related to social insurance and income maintenance, and expenditure programs for the poor. The goal of this analysis is to demonstrate how perceptions of costs and benefits for expenditure programs is often based more on rhetoric than actual fact. This paper begins with a brief review of the take away of the three lessons from which this analysis is based. Then, a full examination of the relationship and issue of the perception of costs and benefits of public expenditure programs is provided. Cost Benefit Analysis The first lesson of importance related to this analysis was the lesson on cost benefit analysis. On the surface, cost benefit analysis is supposed to be a truly objective analysis of the costs associated with a particular project or program, and the benefits of that program (Driesen, 2005). If the costs outweigh the benefits, then the project or program is not undertaken. However, if the benefits outweigh the costs, regardless of what the perception might be about the project or program, then it is pursued. The deeper issue that must be considered is whether cost benefit analysis is purely an objective task that is based solely on fiscal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sahara Desert Large Mammals Flipped Into Extinction African Lions are well known for their majestic look, especially males: with a height of four feet, a length up to eight feet and a weight up to 500 pounds, there is no denying their magnificent appearance. According to the article Sahara Desert s Large Mammals Slipping into Extinction by the Environment News Service, human interference has been one of the biggest factors in the massive decrease of the lion population. However Maryke Van Der Merwe, a manager of a popular lion ranch in South Africa, states in Lions Bred for Slaughter by Patrick Barkham that their lions are not involved in any hunting activity, but instead they are provided with proper love and affection on her ranch. • 12. Annotated Bibliography On Animal Poaching Jorge Ramirez Professor Andrew Franz Esq. CJL 4115 April 15, 2015 Elephant Poaching When one imagines what elephants are like in the wild, they imagine giant animals roaming the land eating plenty of food and drinking plenty of water. The average person may not know, or understand, that there are people that practice the illegal killing of elephants, or poaching, in order to obtain and then sell or trade that ivory for whatever is valuable to the poacher. Poaching is illegal because it has led to the significant decline in the elephant population in recent years and can very well lead to severe endangerment or worse, extinction. Elephants are more than just animals that graze on the land, but they are animals that can spread the seeds of the plants they eat. Elephants roam a large area of land, and therefore, spread seeds via their dung. This is great for plants that have no ways of transportation, except for falling next to their parent plant. Along with the vast spreading of seeds, the seeds that are in elephant stomachs are softened, which means the seeds are able to germinate faster than seeds that have not been softened (Scientificamerican). Due to this there must be lots of plants that have been dependent on elephants because of co evolution. The poaching of elephants is an issue that must be looked into not only because of reasons stated above, but also because the extinction of a certain species can only cause a domino effect of cataclysms. When an adoptive family begins to explore the idea of adopting a child, it is easy for them to quickly become overwhelmed with information, questions and decisions (American Adoptions, Inc). However, one of the biggest problem most adoptive parents could run into is whether they are wanting to adopt domestically or internationally. With the number of celebrities advertising the ease of adopting internationally and the publicizing conditions the orphans live in it makes American families want to adopt internationally. The number of children in the United States in foster care approved for adoption and the number of newborns born unwanted does not make the news so it domestic adoption is not as glamorous. Domestic adoption should be the first choice to help improve our country and give the children born in the United States a chance at a family. In recent years international adoption has been presented as an easier and quicker adoption process. The process is not as easy as it seems and some countries forbid adoption of their children to families in the United States. When adopting from a different country a person must be in agreement with adopting different ethnic or racial groups. Long before the term Propaganda came to be, the act of controlling the public s mindsets and opinions was still being practiced ever since mankind came to be. People with ideas want to influence their beliefs on others. Propaganda goes way back to the early times. • 33. Examples Of Absurdism In The Birthday Party By Harold Pinter Harold Pinter is one of the most prominent living dramatists of the age. The seventy three year old Pinter, who has written twenty nine plays and twenty one screen plays and who has directed twenty seven theater productions, is one of the early practitioners of the Theater of the Absurd which started in the fifties. Absurd, which is one of the many different aspects of his works, functions as a means of getting into the reality that is Pinter s main concern. Harold Pinter belongs to the group of the twentieth century absurdist playwrights who came to become known as the innovators of an Avant garde style in their playwritings by breaking away from the old concepts of morality, religion and sentimentality. The post world war playwrights and writers such as Beckett, Eugene Ionesco, Genet, Adamov and T. S. Eliot became well aware of the social, political and economic tribulations that jeopardized the existence of modern man. The utter helplessness of man and his futile efforts to escape resulted in the emergence of the theories of absurdism and existentialism, and there was a shift in the definition of what was considered the real and the unreal. Harold Pinter s play The Birthday Party explicates the sense of absurdity of human life trapped in a claustrophobic atmosphere. In today s society, the education system is called upon to teach all students at high levels. It has been established through significant research that teachers have a high impact on student learning, according to the RAND Corporation, research suggests that, among school related factors, teachers matter most. When it comes to student performance on reading and math tests, a teacher is estimated to have two to three times the impact of any other school factor, including services, facilities, and even leadership. In order to ensure that students have the greatest chance for achievement, it is vital that school communities know that they have high quality teachers in place. To accomplish this task, systems have developed that integrate set measures aligning what teachers do and what happens as a result. These may include evidence of student work and learning, as well as, evidence of teacher practices derived from observations, reflection, recordings, artifacts, and various forms of feedback. Educational experts such as Marzano, Danielson, Stronge and others have published examples of evaluation models. While they vary in emphasis and design, they are similar in that they attempt to provide a framework for measuring the impact of a teacher on a student s learning.
