My Neighbour Totoro Essay
My Neighbor Totoro makes us question if it s necessary to have an enemy or major conflict in
order to make a great movie. Although some might have found this film strange due to simplicity
and anti climactic plot I believe that is what helped it become so popular around the world.
The film My Neighbor Totoro was one that was focused on the adventures that Satsuki and Mei
took as they moved into a new home in order to be closer to their mother due to her being ill. My
Neighbor Totoro has become one of the beloved of all family films (Ebert) the positive message that
this film gives substitutes for not having that enemy or conflict other movies are so concentrated
on. The Wizard of Oz has Dorothy, who needs to find her way back home In order to be safe and
Finding Nemo has Nemo, who has to go through extreme measures in order to be back with his
father, both examples of popular movies that used an enemy or bad situation in order to help create
an exciting movie. Although My Neighbor Totoro did not have that aspect of danger as most other
movies do, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The children movies nowadays in America are filled with little bits and pieces of aggression and
rebellious attitude, movies such as The Lion King and Moana are both great examples since a
movie such as the lion king, was all about killing in order to survive. These films also promote a
mentality where you do what you want, even if it is something that you are not allowed to do and
these are movies that are extremely popular with children today. The positive and friendliness
message My Neighbor Totoro gives throughout the whole movie is one you definitely want your
kids to learn therefore this leads me to believe that this is one of the many reasons that My
Neighbor Totoro has become extremely popular not only in Japan but in the entire

Objectives Of Management By Objectives
A good management system is essential to run an organization effectively. One main strategy to run
a good management system is through the use of a famous management module, management by
objectives (MBO) that proposed by Peter Drucker (Drucker, 1954). This module has remained
popular and compelling method for achieving goals. As Daft (2012) explained, managementby
objectives is a system whereby managers and the employees define goals for every department,
project, and use them to monitor the organization s subsequent performance (p. 194). The
management by objectives is a management ideology which is used by Peter Drucker who states
that the management based on setting up objectives and self control are understood as a philosophy
of management (Kralev, 2011). Management by objectives is... Show more content on

After setting the organizational objectives as explained in the first step previously, the objectives
planned now are easily converted into marketing or organizational plan which then require to be
distributed into different individual sections within the organization (Daft, 2012). In addition, this
step involves the accurate setting of performance standard for the subordinates in a previously
arranged time period. While developing an organizational action plan, there are few things that need
consideration. Subsequently, as described by Kralev (2011) which enlightened that both superiors
and subordinates need to refer the organizations mission and vision in order to ensure that the
action plan developed later align with the organizations current objectives. In addition, Aswathappa
(2007), explained that managers or the superiors are alarmed about their subordinates performance
and they are ready to observe or to take action on what they are supposed to do. As the top

The Weakness Of NASA
Despite the success of NASA over the years, there is still one facet of their operation that many
see as a weakness. For the past five years, the U.S has been depending on Russia to carry
American astronauts to and from the ISS. Now, with the help of SpaceX and Boeing, the U.S space
agency thinks they are ready for some independence.
NASA TO GET BACK ON TRACK WITH SPACEX AND BOEING
In the year 2017, SpaceX and Boeing are are both on track to launch astronauts to the ISS.
Meanwhile, pouting on the sidelines is NASA. Since they were grounded in 2011, NASA has lost
their domestic crew launch capability. Because of these, they ve been reliant on Russia to help
them go back and forth from the ISS. Seeing as the U.S is supposed to be the model

How Did Adolf Hitler s Rise To Power
Adolf Hitler s young life actions and outcomes made him into the man he was. He fought in
World War I (WWI) as a young soldier. Hitler s rise to power was interesting. He was given
power from the death of the previous man in power. During his time of power Adolf started the
Holocaust which affected the lives of millions, and killed millions of innocent people, he did so
because of a belief of the Jews in 1918. Hitler ended up dying in the end just like any other
person but he died in an interesting and fashionable way. Some believe he didn t even die at that
time at all, people still question and don t know if he died from suicide or if he ran off into hiding
for a long time. Considering Adolf Hitlers infamous actions as a major leader, it is safe to say that
his childhood, beginnings as a soldier, and the Nazi Party/Holocaust, all play a major role in his
rise to power, and how his life turned out. Hitler was a man that wanted... Show more content on

Cocaine Intoxication Essay
Cocaine Intoxication Cocaine intoxication occurs when you snort, smoke or inject too much
cocaine. One becomes restless and overactive shortly after using cocaine, but with excessive use,
cocaine intoxication can lead to death (Adult Health Advisor, 2005). The four stages of cocaine
intoxication are cocaine euphoria, cocaine disphoria, cocaine hallucinosis and cocaine psychosis. It
has been noted that cocaine intoxication closely resembles a psychiatric disorder. In the movie,
The Boost , the main character Lenny Brown goes through each stage of cocaine psychosis and
examples of his progression can be seen in the movie. The first stage of cocaine intoxication is
cocaine euphoria which is described as being similar to a manic... Show more content on

This stage is sometimes referred to as a crash . Other symptoms include anxiety, sadness, apathy,
irritability and sexual indifference. Contrast to cocaine euphoria, individuals feel tired and want
sleep, but cannot fall asleep. Users in this stage also have strong cravings for more cocaine to
return to the increased pleasure and energy in stage one. As the movie moves forward, so does
Lenny s experience with cocaine intoxication. In the bar scene when he is waiting for the dealer
with his wife, he is irritated with the dealer for being late, even though his wife is relatively
unaffected by having to wait. Also, one can see how Lenny craves more cocaine once he is out
of the hospital. He was just released for overdosing on cocaine, but as soon as he gets in the car
with his wife, he asks her if she has any. Another example to show how desperate Lenny is to
obtain more cocaine and try to impress people is by stealing $20,000 from his boss. As one moves
into stage three, the symptoms and affects start to become more severe and dangerous. This third
stage is referred to as cocaine hallucinosis. In this stage, individuals experience hallucinations and
delusions. Hallucinations are sensory experiences that occur in the absence of actual stimulation
(Kassin, 2004, 654.) In cocaine hallucinosis, users see, hear, feel, taste and smell things that are not
there. Delusions, in contrast to hallucinations, are

The McDonaldization of Society George Ritzer explains what rationalization does to a community.
In this essay the word rationalization can be condensed to making a society more efficient. Using
the fast food chain McDonald s to symbolize the American culture, Ritzer efficiently conveys his

process of rationalization . Showing the reader that while he might not completely agree with

The Different Types Of Prayer
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: RESEARCH ESSAY
QUESTION 5: EXAMINE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRAYER FOUND IN CHRISTIANITY.
EVALUATE HOW THESE PRAYERS BUILD UP THE COMMUNITY OF THE CHURCH, AND
HELP STRENGTHEN A PERSON IN HIS OR HER SPIRITUALITY.
Most Christians aren t aware that there are several types of prayer discussed in God s Word, these
different types of prayer were created so they could be used in different situations, therefore in
some cases a specific prayer type won t work. You would be applying the wrong spiritual tool to
your needs or request. God has made each of the six forms of prayer mentioned in the Bible to have
different functions/effects on the readers.
The six different prayers in the Bible all have different names.
They are the following, The Prayer of Agreement, The Prayer of Faith, The Prayer of
Consecration and Dedication, The Prayer of Praise and Worship, The Prayer of Intercession and
The Prayer of Binding and Loosing.
Each of these prayers have a different target audience and description based on what the reader is
wanting or needing to hear, they also have a major effect on the community of the Church, some
have specific community based effects that are better in other specific situations, just like the
prayers are for the readers. Below are three of the total of six prayers which are spoken more in
depth of their meaning and effects they have on church goers and the overall community of the
church.

Mr. Thompson
Hideki Tojo, one of the worst rulers to live?
Background
Hello, I am former Prime Minister of Japan known as Hideki Tojo. I was a man who was born
December 30, 1884, and lived in a japanese district known as Kojimachi (Wikip). I was one of
three children under my father Hidenori Tojo who was a lieutenant general in the japanese imperial
army. in 1899, I entered the Army Cadet School, worked hard to get a reputation, and ended being
commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the IJA Imperial Japanese Army(Wikipedia). I then married
my lovely wife Katsuko Ito and had seven kids. I had lots of experience in military and politics
as time went on. I was the prime minister of japan from 1941 to 1944 when japan was fighting
the U.S. in world war II. I was promoted in 1934 to the general and chief personnel in the Army
Ministry. In 1940 i became the Minister of war for japan. We could see our country by this time
being just as powerful as the european countries. Hitler, a good friend of mine during WWII,
admired what we were doing with japan, and that we would soon be a superpower. The need for
supplies to further advance our military was needed, so we started advancing through the pacific,
island hopping. we had a feeling that as we moved forward, the chance of the US starting a war
would be inevitable. So in 1941, after the US stopped transporting supplies to japan due to our
advancements in the pacific, I ordered

Mesopotamian And Hellenistic Art
In History, artistic achievements have represented cultural advancements in civilized society. The
artist s ability to express themselves on a surface plane has progressed immensely from the
prehistoric era through the present. At one time, techniques were so primitive, simple handheld
figures and tools were all artisans had the ability to craft. However, Mesopotamian and Greek and
Hellenistic Art specifically, modernized the techniques and boundaries of sculpture and figurative
art. As time goes on, an artist s ability to express themselves within their art has progressed. Artists
possess the ability to express personal beliefs through depictions, of which are so detailed many art
historians interpret their meanings similarly. Historically... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides the past as a claim for complex art impling cultural prominence in societies, the present
is a great representation of a society s cultural qualities. The United States population s ability to
express themselves has grown the most in recent decades. Specifically in art, one can express
themselves however they want, no: restrictions, limitations, or necessary guidelines. This
capability to express one s self is comparable to our cultures recent stressed activism for the
freedom to act without criticism. Artist s role now, is to be as personal, unique, and creative as
possible. Our society is going through a change of cultural acceptance for those who feel
oppressed. Art is currently about being creative and expressing emotions or ideas through a surface
plane medium. However, it always was not this way. Artists and their art world, from century to
century, responds to their societies attributes. Because of this, past cultures prominence can be
interpreted and represented through their art. Recalling the oldest known art periods, first, the
Prehistoric Art era, we can see societies from b.c. through 2500 b.c., that their cultures were
advanced. From personal representations of nature and deities, these people s small ability to
create different types of art shows how they were more skilled craftsman, instead of artists. Cave
Paintings and other art forms represent their hunting and living styles. For example, the Women
from Willendorf, can show how they expressed themselves through art but, art was not considered
to be a profession in the Prehistoric Art era

Turner Syndrome And The Age Of Puberty
Turner Syndrome Introduction
Turner Syndrome is a disorder that affects one in every two thousand girls. Usually girls are born
with only one X chromosomes. Some are born with an extra chromosome, or sometimes even half
of one is missing which causes Turner Syndrome.
Symptoms of Turner Syndrome Most of the girls that have Turner Syndrome are way shorter than
average girls. The girls often have their normal height up to three years old. After they are three
the growth rate starts to slow down. Ovaries that are non functioning are other symptoms of Turner

Diagnosing Turner Syndrome Usually the girls with TS are diagnosed around the time they are
born. Or at the time they are expected to go through their period. Usually if a baby girl has the
signs of Turner Syndrome, a doctor around the hospital will order a special blood test called a
karyotype. This test counts the number of chromosomes, this test can also identify any that are
abnormally shaped or have some missing pieces. If the blood test shows that a girl has Turner
Syndrome, her doctor may order additional test to check for problems with her kidneys, heart,
hearing, and other problems that are often associated with Turner Syndrome. Some diagnosing can
be made at birth or close to birth because of heart problems, an unusually wide neck or swelling of
the hands and the feet.

Turner Syndrome can also be suspected in pregnancy during an ultrasound test.
Turner Syndrome during pregnancy can be confirmed by prenatal testing by sampling, or getting
cells from the baby for a chromosome analysis. If the diagnosis is confirmed prenatally, also the
baby may be under the care of a specialist pediatrician, also the baby may be under the care of a
specialist immediately after birth.

This essay is based on films of the same story, told in different ways, with emphasis, themes,

mise en scene. Based on the same story, the films reveal and reflect the film maker s social
norms and views, emerging from their different national contexts. While exploring the two films,
this essay will examine elements of film language or semiotics: color saturation (or black and
white), sound, setting, type of camera angles used; repetition of visual motifs (Metz, 1985). The
two films explored were made in the 1960s. Neither film is American, yet both reveal influences
and reflections on American cinema and American power; the Western film, adherence or
detracting from Hollywood Classical cinema tropes, i.e. close ups, shot reverse shot, POV, depth of

How Does Shakespeare Use Imagery In Macbeth
Macbeth is a play, which is concerned with supernatural forces, ambition, masculinity and strength.
It is the tale of a good man turned evil due to ambition and the consequences, which eventually lead
to his dramatic downfall. These challenged the values of the society of this period and provoked
morality. There is a sequence of recurring imagery throughout Macbethwhich is significant to assist
with the audiences understanding of the play. This technique also reinforces the themes and events,
heightening the overall atmosphere. These products of our imagination are important symbols,

A black cat, a dark and stormy night, for instance, are all modern day symbols of wickedness and
evil. Authors many times will use these and other symbols to describe an evil character or setting.
In Elizabethan England night air was said to be impure and rheumy and it was the air in which
evils were most free since it was not purged by the sunshine. Darkness is also associated with the
supernatural. William Shakespeare employs the imagery of darkness throughout his play of
Macbeth.
Act 1 scene 1 is to set a dark and dramatic mood to the play. This was especially important in
Shakespeare s day because there obviously were no television trailers to tell the audience what to
expect before going to the play. Shakespeare wrote both comedy and tragedy so it was important to
establish which one the audience was watching very quickly.
The scene looks fragmentary, extremely grotesque but very profound. It opens with an atmosphere
that suggests the storm in Macbeth and Duncan s life and the storm that would befall on Scotland.
The use of pathetic fallacy Thunder and lightning is an indicative of the violent weather that always
accompanies terrible acts in the play. The storm reveals and foreshadows the mood of the play and

The Role of God in Miracles
In the Christian faith, miracles are critical and authentic to the Gospels. A miracle is a difficult
term to define because it depends on the individual s perspective and experience. Generally
speaking, miracles can be considered to be natural and unnatural acts of God or series of unlikely
events occurring concurrently coincidences. I believe miracles and coincidences can both be seen
as a series of unlikely event, but miracles have a Godcomponent to it. Coincidences on the other
hand, do not involve God and are non existent.
I view miracles and coincidences as epistemic. It is because of our lack of ability to predict the
future that when unexpected events occur, they can be viewed as either coincidences or miracles.
For example, if a woman was supposed to die because of a failing immune system by a certain time
period, but lived beyond that time period, then foreseeing the woman s survival was impossible
because human knowledge is limited to the present. Furthermore, this incident can be considered a
miracle for a religious person or a coincidence for an atheist. From an atheist point of view, the
woman s survival was due her immune system coincidentally being able able to randomly support
life longer than expected without God s involvement. For a person of faith, the woman s survival
is seen as a miracle because it is an unlikely event that could have only occurred due to God s
purposeful intervention.
I don t believe in coincidences because every instance in life

causes them, who is the main reason for the cause, and when it actually started. We are going to
take a look at the reality of what is really happening.
Let s assume that all ice caps and glaciers in the world melted. What would be the result of such a
catastrophe, how long would it take, who would be affects, and would we suffer any loss because
of this?
Global climate change has been more and more discussed with the ever changing climate, and the
rise of water levels, we need to figure out why the water levels have been changing so rapidly. Is
there any change we humans can do to prevent disaster? Or are we on a collision course with no
way to turn around?
This is a list of the known ice inventories within our world that I have found from Dr. Robert
Johnston regarding if the ice melts. As you can see Dr. Robert Johnston has done his studies and
research about this topic.
World ice inventory
A melting of the entire list would cause a rise of about 200 250 feet of the world wide sea level.
This seems dangerous, but it would take several hundred years to occur, if at all for that to even
happen and even if it did we would no longer be alive.
As Dr. Robert Johnston said Today the Earth has 148 million sq. km of land area, of which 16
million sq. km is covered by glaciers. A sea level rise of 66 meters would flood about 13 million sq.
km of land outside of Antarctica. If we

Case Study Of Cyanide
A BRIEF STUDY ABOUT THE MATERIALIZATION AND TOXICOLOGICAL PROFILE OF
CYANIDE
I.Overview
Problem Statement
The purpose of the research is to determine chemical and physical properties of cyanide, to know its
applications, and its primary effects to the human body.
Introduction
The incident about the death of a customer and the owner himself who consumed milk teas from a
stall called ErgoCha has circulated the news and has spread all over the country. According to some
articles, the customers said that the milk tea from the said stall along Bustillos Street in Sampaloc,
Manila tasted different. Consequently, the owner also tasted the product to prove that the product
is no different to what they have been serving. To their surprise, both... Show more content on

It can be used in many applications such as making paper and extracting gold. However, it can be
also be fatal to the human body. Concretely, cyanidepoisoning can bring abnormalities like seizures
up to cardiac arrests. The chemical compound is generally reactive, and can kill people in minutes.
In this research, the properties and effects will be discussed through definition and previous
applications involving the topic.
II.Presentation of Research
Definition
Cyanide is relatively every chemical compound that has monovalent combining cyano group. CN
group is made out of a carbon atom triple bonded to a nitrogen atom. This chemical compound is
monovalent since it is able to form only one covalent bond.
A cyanide molecule also has a strong tendency to bind with other atoms or compounds, yielding a
variety of different products. The type of atom or compound to which the cyanide molecule bonds
determines the properties and toxicity of the resulting product.
There are two kinds of cyanide: organic and inorganic. Organic cyanides are typically called
nitriles. Here, the CN group is linked by a covalent bond to a carbon containing group. Inorganic
cyanide on the other hand is a negatively charged polyatomic ion. These kinds of cyanide are
considered as the salts of hydrocyanic acid which are highly toxic.

Casablanca Symbolism
Casablanca, directed by Michael Curtiz and produced by Hal B. Wallis, tells the story of
American cafГ© owner, Rick Blaine, and his dilemma between choosing between his love and
the greater good. The film takes place in Casablanca, Morocco amid the darkness and conflict of
Nazi occupation. Rick Blaine s drinking habits and his gradual increase in socialization with those
around him serve to allude to America s progressive participation in and support of the war against
the Nazis. Throughout the beginning of the motion picture, Rick refuses to have a drink with the
patrons. This fact is revealed when Carl, the headwaiter, says, Madame, he never drinks with

Rick s being surrounded by smoke symbolizes his being in the underworld, but his smoking the
cigarette alludes to his leaving the underworld (Class). As they burn, cigarettes get shorter, thus
symbolizing his impending departure from the underworld. This also suggests that the United
States time for neutrality is coming to an end, which was abruptly ended by the attack on Pearl
Harbor in 1941. In his first appearance, Rick has an empty whiskey glass next to his right hand.
Whiskey comes from the Gaelic word, uisce beatha, which means water of life (Class). Rick s
drinking alone and empty glass illustrate that he is devoid of spirit and passion for life and that
he is merely watching the lives of others. This image reflects the state of America at that time.
Americans were still feeling the effects of the Great Depression and did not want to get

A Critical Analysis Of Bourgois And Schonberg
Bourgois and Schonberg make no attempt in Righteous Dopefiend to euphemize or otherwise
lessen the shocking blow of reading the stories of homeless heroin injectors in San Francisco. Their
ethnography plunges directly into an environment where property crime, interpersonal violence,
and sexual abuse are normalized to such an extent that cultural relativism may be difficult for a
privileged reader to apply. To explain these violent and abusive subjectivities, or constructions of
individual subjects, Bourgois and Schonberg synthesize and apply ideas from critical theory to
form their concept of lumpen abuse, which describes the violenceimposed by political structures on
the lumpenproletariat. They also urge the reader to consider the... Show more content on

They conducted their fieldwork collaboratively, improving their ethnographic technique and
clarifying the analysis process through comparing their interpretations and insights. In the midst of
their fieldwork, Bourgois and Schonberg learned the logics of hustling : when to give, to help, to
say no, to be angry. They eschewed conventional research dogmas and its ethical imperatives
constructed by intellectuals in isolation from society in order to stay in touch with the reality of life
on the street. Bourgois and Schonberg also discuss how they practiced cultural relativism as an
essential method to confront this reality productively and without moral judgment or other socially
ingrained reactions that prevent the mind from opening to and analyzing environments and people.
With respect to presentation technique, Righteous Dopefiend is first and foremost a photo
ethnography accompanied by analysis for understanding and fieldnotes for context. According to
Bourgois and Schonberg, photos can constitute a voyeuristic pornography of suffering if viewed out
of context, but in context they allow for greater recognition of structural and everyday violence.
They also say that photos draw emotion, aesthetics, and documentation into social science analysis

hyper arid where as northern parts lie between semi arid to very humid zone (Fig 3). Analysis
shows the climate of northern parts is more variable as compare to southern parts. The reason in the
variability of the climate in the northern parts is that this region received rainfall in summer due to
monsoon systems (July to September) and in winter due to western disturbances (December to

This is quite unfortunate for our agriculture that evaporative demand and water requirement for
crops in whole southern parts of the country is very high as compare to northern parts and it is very
difficult to carry out the agricultural activity in these regions.
Climate variability and change profoundly influence social and natural environments throughout the
world, with consequent impacts on natural resources and industry that could be large and far
reaching. Climate change due to global warming not only started to impact the weather pattern but
also influence the agriculture sector in Pakistan. Pakistan is an agriculture whose majority of the
population depends upon agriculture. Glaciers are the big fresh water sources for Pakistan which
fulfills the water demands in the agriculture land while rainfall fulfills the water requirement of the
barani areas. An increase in temperature was observed in the country especially during the last few
decades which accelerate snow melting on glaciers. The increased rate of glacial melting in
Himalayas has caused vast lakes to develop, and if these lacks outburst, these can inundate towns
and villages below. There is high level of confidence that recent regional changes (rising tendency)
in temperature have discernable impacts on precipitation, evaporation, stream flow, runoff and other
elements of hydrological cycles (Elshamy et al., 2006).

The Pros And Cons Of Air Traffic Control
Since the very beginning of air travel, the Federal Aviation Administration s National Air Traffic
Control (ATC) system has kept passengers safe and moved people and goods with unmatched
efficiency, and it has continually evolved to meet the needs of the aviation industry. However,
many have sought to hand over control of the ATC system to a private entity, separate from the
FAA, dominated by the airlines, and unaccountable to the public. The latest of these effort comes
in the form of a renewed push endorsed by President Donald Trump, in a misguided attempt to
Make Air Travel Great Again. What would come with private ATC would be just the opposite:
rising costs passed on to airlinepassengers and general aviationoperations, and funds shifted from
local general aviation (GA) airports to the nation s hub airports, and unfair access to the nation s
skies favoring the airlines and leaving GA behind. Since the invention of flight, the sky over
America have been free for anyone to use, but this may no longer be the case. The costs to the
aviation industry will be staggering. Pilots, controllers, and other aviation professionals have not
accepted a private ATC system in the past and must resist it again for the love of flying.
Privatization of government services and agencies has long been a proposed solution to rising costs,
delayed updates, and inconsistent budgets that federal agencies currently have to deal with. Air
Traffic Control is no exception. Rep. Bill Shuster

The chaperones have the main role of ensuring proper folding. When a chaperone protein becomes
toxic, major changes in the conformation occur as the alpha helix becomes beta pleated sheets. The
sheets now expose the hydrophobic amino acid and aggregation, or clumping together of sheets
occurs (Borges, 2014). In bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), the disease is caused by the
misfolding of proteins that cause proteins and peptides to develop a fibrillary structure. The
PrPc is a correctly folded prion and the misfolded form is called PrPSc. BSE occurs when the
normal PrPc come into contact with the toxic PrPSc and the normal prion takes on the shape of

The Greatest Consummation Of Harriet Tubman
Harriet Tubman started off as a lowly thrall, but died a remarkable hero. Harriet Tubman wasn t
her real name, her birth name was Minty Ross. It was important for her to change her name
because she was an escaped thrall trying to help other thralls gain their freedom. So she needed
a new identity. Harriet was around twenty seven when she escaped vassalage. Harriet joined a
secret network known as the Underground Railroad to unrestrained thralls. Soon after Harriet
became a spy for the Civil War, from there she became a Civil War wellness solicitude
craftswoman. After the war, she was a caregiver for the rest of her life. I was asked to define
Harriet Tubmans greatest consummation. I will also rank her consummations by the amount of risk,
the amount of people she helped, and the amount of time the consummation took. My definition of
greatest consummation means a skill or effort given with an interest above average. Harriet
Tubman s life is full of many accomplishments. Here, I have rated them from the most important. In
my personal point of view, her greatest consummation was being a Civil War spy, her second
greatest consummation was being a conductor on the Underground Railroad and lastly, her third
greatest consummation was being a Civil War wellness solicitude craftswoman and caregiver.
Harriet Tubman s most important consummation was being a Civil War spy. Harriet Tubman
helped many people as a spy, without her work helping thralls, it would have been very hard.

Prejudiced media portrayals of Islam and their effects on Islamophobic attitudes amongst

The three potential research studies considered for my final year dissertation were as follows: 1)
an exploration of the prejudiced media portrayals of Islam and its effects on Islamophobic attitudes
amongst adolescents, 2) an examination of developmental cognitive neuroscience s significance for
the treatment and early detection of disorders, and 3) an assessment of the socio cultural influences
posed by media outlets in relation to male body dissatisfaction and drug use in adulthood. The first
study, its focus on prejudiced media portrayals of Islam will form the foundation of the current

media outlets portray the religion of Islam hence increasing attitudes of Islamophobia amongst
adolescents.

The Negative Consequences Of Plagiarism In The Modern Age
Recent memory has been filled with technological advances following one after another; the twenty

I agreed with a few things that Ronson shared in his speech, I agree that a lot of people on social
media have the mentality that when a powerful person misuses their privilege, they are prepared
to attack. It is like if people are trying to keep others in their place from doing what they consider
to be wrongful. I feel as if people like to attack others when they make a subtle mistake in
organizing words that best express their thought or in the case that Ronson focused on when
someone doesn t understand one s humor and decides to exploit them. But why? Well, my
theory is that people like to feel powerful and we also like to feel like we are doing something
good for the vast majority. However, how we decide to protect others seems kind of brutal. In
social media, one has to be careful with what one decides to share because it can be so easily be

Contributions Of The Vikings, Polynesians, And The...
The Vikings, Polynesians, and the Phoenicians explored vast areas around the world. They were
motivated to trade and conquest areas of the unknown. These groups of people traveled without
any modern technology and they still managed to arrive in hard to reach places around the
globe. Many people wonder what motivated these talented explorers to discover and create what
they did. The Phoenicians traveled to places such as, Spain, Africa, and Scilly Isles. They
explored places that were beyond the traditional safe limits in the Mediterranean and into the
Atlantic. The Phoenicians were driven to trade things for silver in Spain, Africa s wide variety
of gold, and tin from Scilly Isles. These people were also credited with the achievements of many
new nautical inventions. Their life was full of exploring new places, and that benefitted their
people very much. Exploration was the reason for many new advancements in this time. Masters
of the sea, is the name given to the Phoenicians for their ability to push beyond the limits of
traditional exploration. They were able to explore the seas with their ships built out of cedar
wood logs. The Phoenicians were famed in antiquity for their ship building skills, and they were
credited with inventing the keel, the battering ram on the bow, and caulking between planks. (cite

Living and Coping with Cystic Fibrosis in the South Asian...
A widely accepted Caucasian disease has since changed; as cases of its existence are appearing in
the South Asian Population (Orenstein, Rosenstein and Stern, 2000). First discovered in 1989,
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetically predetermined condition, its presences is lifelong and highly
complex, which is why many CF sufferers and families develop various mechanisms in order to
adapt to the condition (Tippingemail, Scholes, Cox, 2010). Cystic Fibrosiscauses the body to
develop thick, sticky mucus which clogs the lungs and affects other organs in the body, mainly the
pancreas. The layer of mucus if untreated develops in to a chronic infection which can be
detrimental. The pancreas of a CF patient is most vulnerable, once the mucus has... Show more

Discussions of such issues suggest that other external factors may be influencing the decisions and
maintenance of many CF patients. For instance CF patients need to prioritise the way in which they
self manage their treatment, this can be difficult when trying to balance family, work, education and
other responsibilities and their levels of adherence may fluctuate (Sawicki, Sellers, Robinson,
2009). These fluctuations can be detrimental to their condition and may result in hospitalisation,
causing additional disruptions in their daily life. However, engaging in so called normal activities
might therefore also reinforce a sense of being healthy and having a nondifferent identity.
Conquering a healthy balance is one which CF patients may need to adopt. One of the significant
points from McCormick et al, (2005) research underlined the substantial clinical differences for
females in comparison to males. The authors found that females had worst disease severity than
males. Why might this difference be occurring? In 2009 Besier, Schmitz and Goldbeck,
investigated the effects of relationship status on life satisfaction, as numerous findings suggest that
despite the relationship status, many females CF patients still reported worse quality of life scores
than males (Walters, Britton, Hodson, 1993). Besier et al, (2009) administrated the Life satisfaction
questionnaire on a sample of 243 CF (129

In order for a company s marketing plan to be implemented effectively, and a marketing orientated
and customer focused approach to decision making taken, it should first find out as much
information as possible about its customers and markets, identifying their needs, wants,
characteristics, buying power and willingness to buy. Without this, decisions are relatively
uninformed, posing a serious risk to the business.
Marketing research can determine things such as economic growth prospects in the external
environment, pricing and cost structures of competitors, customer responses to new services,
channels of distribution for the marketing mix and sales trends by region to name a few. Marketing
research is vital to not only finding out about the environment and the customers, but also the
necessary changes that might be required to the marketing mix following analysis of the research
information.
A company may also want to make decisions about future plans such as international growth, new
market opportunities and new technologies, and these decisions need to be well informed, hence
the need for accurate and targeted information.
7. Appropriate Analysis Tools
The following analysis tools are utilised during a marketing audit:
i) PESTEL Analysis

How Does Arthur Miller Present Conflict In The Crucible
In Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, several circumstances and actions have contributed to a
character s conflict(s). Miller creates a play in which he utilizes a variation of Greek tragedy.
The play consists of a tragic hero with a tragic flaw . Miller s play also displays McCarthyism, a
practice regularly practiced during the Red Scare in the 1950s because of the Cold War. The
practice involves making unfair accusations against one s character without appropriate evidence,
e.g., the American government accusing citizens of being Communists as Miller was accused
during the Cold War. Miller cleverly uses this during the SalemWitch Trials era, when this play is
set. The Crucible portrays this by setting up the antagonist of the play who

  • 2. My Neighbour Totoro Essay My Neighbor Totoro makes us question if it s necessary to have an enemy or major conflict in order to make a great movie. Although some might have found this film strange due to simplicity and anti climactic plot I believe that is what helped it become so popular around the world. The film My Neighbor Totoro was one that was focused on the adventures that Satsuki and Mei took as they moved into a new home in order to be closer to their mother due to her being ill. My Neighbor Totoro has become one of the beloved of all family films (Ebert) the positive message that this film gives substitutes for not having that enemy or conflict other movies are so concentrated on. The Wizard of Oz has Dorothy, who needs to find her way back home In order to be safe and Finding Nemo has Nemo, who has to go through extreme measures in order to be back with his father, both examples of popular movies that used an enemy or bad situation in order to help create an exciting movie. Although My Neighbor Totoro did not have that aspect of danger as most other movies do, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The children movies nowadays in America are filled with little bits and pieces of aggression and rebellious attitude, movies such as The Lion King and Moana are both great examples since a movie such as the lion king, was all about killing in order to survive. These films also promote a mentality where you do what you want, even if it is something that you are not allowed to do and these are movies that are extremely popular with children today. The positive and friendliness message My Neighbor Totoro gives throughout the whole movie is one you definitely want your kids to learn therefore this leads me to believe that this is one of the many reasons that My Neighbor Totoro has become extremely popular not only in Japan but in the entire ... One main strategy to run a good management system is through the use of a famous management module, management by objectives (MBO) that proposed by Peter Drucker (Drucker, 1954). This module has remained popular and compelling method for achieving goals. As Daft (2012) explained, managementby objectives is a system whereby managers and the employees define goals for every department, project, and use them to monitor the organization s subsequent performance (p. 194). The management by objectives is a management ideology which is used by Peter Drucker who states that the management based on setting up objectives and self control are understood as a philosophy of management (Kralev, 2011). For the past five years, the U.S has been depending on Russia to carry American astronauts to and from the ISS. Hitler s rise to power was interesting. He was given power from the death of the previous man in power. During his time of power Adolf started the Holocaust which affected the lives of millions, and killed millions of innocent people, he did so because of a belief of the Jews in 1918. Hitler ended up dying in the end just like any other person but he died in an interesting and fashionable way. Some believe he didn t even die at that time at all, people still question and don t know if he died from suicide or if he ran off into hiding for a long time. One becomes restless and overactive shortly after using cocaine, but with excessive use, cocaine intoxication can lead to death (Adult Health Advisor, 2005). The four stages of cocaine intoxication are cocaine euphoria, cocaine disphoria, cocaine hallucinosis and cocaine psychosis. In the bar scene when he is waiting for the dealer with his wife, he is irritated with the dealer for being late, even though his wife is relatively unaffected by having to wait. Also, one can see how Lenny craves more cocaine once he is out of the hospital. He was just released for overdosing on cocaine, but as soon as he gets in the car with his wife, he asks her if she has any. Another example to show how desperate Lenny is to obtain more cocaine and try to impress people is by stealing $20,000 from his boss. As one moves into stage three, the symptoms and affects start to become more severe and dangerous. This third stage is referred to as cocaine hallucinosis. In this stage, individuals experience hallucinations and delusions. Hallucinations are sensory experiences that occur in the absence of actual stimulation (Kassin, 2004, 654.) This capability to express one s self is comparable to our cultures recent stressed activism for the freedom to act without criticism. Darkness is also associated with the supernatural. William Shakespeare employs the imagery of darkness throughout his play of Macbeth. Act 1 scene 1 is to set a dark and dramatic mood to the play. This was especially important in Shakespeare s day because there obviously were no television trailers to tell the audience what to expect before going to the play. A miracle is a difficult term to define because it depends on the individual s perspective and experience. Generally speaking, miracles can be considered to be natural and unnatural acts of God or series of unlikely events occurring concurrently coincidences. I believe miracles and coincidences can both be seen as a series of unlikely event, but miracles have a Godcomponent to it. Coincidences on the other hand, do not involve God and are non existent. I view miracles and coincidences as epistemic. It is because of our lack of ability to predict the future that when unexpected events occur, they can be viewed as either coincidences or miracles. For example, if a woman was supposed to die because of a failing immune system by a certain time period, but lived beyond that time period, then foreseeing the woman s survival was impossible because human knowledge is limited to the present. Furthermore, this incident can be considered a miracle for a religious person or a coincidence for an atheist. From an atheist point of view, the woman s survival was due her immune system coincidentally being able able to randomly support life longer than expected without God s involvement. For a person of faith, the woman s survival is seen as a miracle because it is an unlikely event that could have only occurred due to God s purposeful intervention. Classification and Assessment of Aridity over Pakistan... 3.Results and Discussion The aridity maps was prepared by using De Martonne s Aridity Index, Thornthwaite s Precipitation Effectiveness Index, Thornthwaite s Moisture Index, UNESCO Aridity Index and Erinc Aridity Index. These indices showed that most of the southern parts of the country lie between arid to hyper arid where as northern parts lie between semi arid to very humid zone (Fig 3). Analysis shows the climate of northern parts is more variable as compare to southern parts. The reason in the variability of the climate in the northern parts is that this region received rainfall in summer due to monsoon systems (July to September) and in winter due to western disturbances (December to March). Southern parts of the country receive most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is quite unfortunate for our agriculture that evaporative demand and water requirement for crops in whole southern parts of the country is very high as compare to northern parts and it is very difficult to carry out the agricultural activity in these regions. Climate variability and change profoundly influence social and natural environments throughout the world, with consequent impacts on natural resources and industry that could be large and far reaching. Climate change due to global warming not only started to impact the weather pattern but also influence the agriculture sector in Pakistan. Pakistan is an agriculture whose majority of the population depends upon agriculture. Glaciers are the big fresh water sources for Pakistan which fulfills the water demands in the agriculture land while rainfall fulfills the water requirement of the barani areas. An increase in temperature was observed in the country especially during the last few decades which accelerate snow melting on glaciers. The increased rate of glacial melting in Himalayas has caused vast lakes to develop, and if these lacks outburst, these can inundate towns and villages below. There is high level of confidence that recent regional changes (rising tendency) in temperature have discernable impacts on precipitation, evaporation, stream flow, runoff and other elements of hydrological cycles (Elshamy et al., 2006). ... • 30. The Pros And Cons Of Air Traffic Control Since the very beginning of air travel, the Federal Aviation Administration s National Air Traffic Control (ATC) system has kept passengers safe and moved people and goods with unmatched efficiency, and it has continually evolved to meet the needs of the aviation industry. However, many have sought to hand over control of the ATC system to a private entity, separate from the FAA, dominated by the airlines, and unaccountable to the public. The latest of these effort comes in the form of a renewed push endorsed by President Donald Trump, in a misguided attempt to Make Air Travel Great Again. What would come with private ATC would be just the opposite: rising costs passed on to airlinepassengers and general aviationoperations, and funds shifted from local general aviation (GA) airports to the nation s hub airports, and unfair access to the nation s skies favoring the airlines and leaving GA behind. Since the invention of flight, the sky over America have been free for anyone to use, but this may no longer be the case. The costs to the aviation industry will be staggering. Pilots, controllers, and other aviation professionals have not accepted a private ATC system in the past and must resist it again for the love of flying. Privatization of government services and agencies has long been a proposed solution to rising costs, delayed updates, and inconsistent budgets that federal agencies currently have to deal with. The chaperones have the main role of ensuring proper folding. When a chaperone protein becomes toxic, major changes in the conformation occur as the alpha helix becomes beta pleated sheets. The sheets now expose the hydrophobic amino acid and aggregation, or clumping together of sheets occurs (Borges, 2014). In bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), the disease is caused by the misfolding of proteins that cause proteins and peptides to develop a fibrillary structure. The PrPc is a correctly folded prion and the misfolded form is called PrPSc. BSE occurs when the normal PrPc come into contact with the toxic PrPSc and the normal prion takes on the shape of the PrPSc. The normal chaperones are unable to convert the PrPSc back to the normal form. The PrPSc now takes on the role of chaperone and the conversion of PrPc prions continue over and over.
