Essay On Creativity
Crafting an essay on the subject of creativity is an intricate endeavor that demands more than
just a superficial exploration of the concept. The challenge lies not only in defining creativity but
also in unraveling its multifaceted dimensions and understanding its implications across various
domains. The task requires a delicate balance between scholarly research and personal insights,
making it a test of one's analytical and expressive abilities.
Attempting to encapsulate the essence of creativity within the confines of an essay compels the
writer to grapple with the elusive nature of the topic. Creativity is not a monolithic entity; rather,
it spans a spectrum of forms, from artistic endeavors to scientific innovations. Consequently,
delving into the diverse realms of creativity demands an exhaustive exploration of historical
contexts, psychological theories, and real-world applications.
Moreover, the paradox of creativity lies in its apparent spontaneity juxtaposed with the
disciplined processes that often underlie it. This dichotomy necessitates a nuanced approach to
essay writing, requiring the author to navigate the tension between chaos and order, intuition and
method. Balancing these elements demands an acute awareness of the intricate interplay between
individual genius and external influences.
Furthermore, the very act of articulating thoughts on creativity poses a paradox – can
creativity itself be expressed within the structured framework of an essay? This question
underscores the challenge of the task, as the writer grapples with the irony of trying to capture
the essence of something that thrives on defying conventions.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the expansive and elusive topic of creativity is an intellectual
journey that demands intellectual dexterity and a deep understanding of the subject matter. It
requires a delicate dance between analysis and inspiration, structure and spontaneity. The
difficulty lies not just in presenting information but in capturing the essence of a concept that, by
its very nature, eludes easy definition.

the complexities of various topics, consider seeking help. Services likeHelpWriting.net offer

Define Feminism Essay
Define Feminism
A woman should be barefoot, pregnant and chained to a stove, stated Ben Glantz, a
high school senior. Drew Pershing, another senior, also shared a joke, What does a
woman do after she leaves a battered shelter? The dishes...if she knows what s good
for her! Daily jokes and comments such as these, no matter how harmless, are
detrimental to the status of women and a dangerous undermining of their
accomplishments. Shared by both genders, sexually discriminative comments are
widely accepted in society as normal and harmless. I didn t mean anything by that; I
was just kidding, whimpered Ben Glantz after receiving several cold stares from
young women who overheard his bashing, sexist comment.

According to her it s recognizing and celebrating the uniqueness of being female. It s
also being responsible rather than being dependent.
Some women abuse feminism by using it as an excuse to speak their minds, but
others use feminism as a tool to open people s eyes to the often ignored problem of
inequality. This belief in a tolerant assertiveness, a claim in human participation
and human rights is called power feminism (Wolf, 1993). If used ideally, power
feminism effectively accomplishes its task of bringing self worth. . . to every
woman s life, states Naomi Wolf. On the other hand, victim feminism makes a
woman out to be a defenseless angel who pleads for the mercy of other by acting as
a victim. Seeking power through a powerless position of dependence only slows the
feminist movement.
All around the world women are crying out, claiming that it is no longer acceptable
to discuss women s rights as separate form human rights, (Hillary Clinton Tumulty,
1997). The abuses females endure are found everywhere in places like Senegal,
Bangladesh, and Berjing, China. Abortion, denial of political rights, and suppression
of speech (Tumulty) are forces upon women daily. But feminism has taken a strong
hold of the women around the world, giving them hope for equal rights in the future.

Late Night Nightmare.
It was late at night when they finally arrived to the motel. The hotel he was at was
very dark and creepy. The closet had a few hangers. The bathroom was filthy. The

When he went to bed he tried to get comfortable because the bed only had one pillow

She has so many dolls but decides for me to be her doll. We always play tea party or

Julie doesn t really hangout with us. Unless it s family time or she just really

Boston Marathon Bombing Research Paper
The Boston Marathon bombing was a shocking and devastating event in the history
of the United States. In the middle of what was supposed to be a very happy and
cheerful event, three people lost their lives and 264 others were injured when two
pressure cooker bombs went off near the finish line. Even though this was a truly
horrific event, the initial response of the BostonPolice Department to the explosions
was incredible. Within minutes, additional Emergency Medical Service teams and
the Boston Fire Department were rushing to the scene, hotels were evacuated, and
police closed down a 15 block area around the blast site. The remaining runners were
also redirected to a different area away from the explosion. It was truly impressive to

Local, state, and federal agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and private
sector partners in Boston were all involved in helping to develop plans to define
the certain roles and responsibilities for everyone during the Boston Marathon.
Along with developing the plans for what to do, they also conducted exercises in
order to test the plans out and see how well communication and coordination is
during these large scale events. While doing more research on how this emergency

Mass Casualty Incident (MCI). The Emergency Medical Care Advisory Board
defines a Mass Casualty Incident as one in which the number of people killed or
injured in a single incident is large enough to strain or overwhelm the resources of
local EMS providers. The Boston Marathon bombing event definitely classified as a
MCI and during the emergency response to the bombings, the performance from the
response teams easily demonstrated the benefits of all the planning and test exercises

The pilot was a newly hired employee who was currently outside of his window for
qualifications of flight. He was overdue for this Part 135 check ride that was to be
accomplished by the owner/operator of Zonk Airlines; however due to poor
documentation the owner/operator had let the unqualified pilot fly. The pilot had
experience flying this particular make and model of aircraft prior to the day of the
accident; however, it was unclear wither or not the pilot had experience flying in
mountainous areas because the pilot s logbook was never found. Furthermore, the
pilot failed to follow proper procedures by filing a IFR or VFR flight plan,
acquiring a weather report, by failing to do a proper weight and balance of the
aircraft, and he failed to secure the cargo properly. Zonk employee s failed the pilot
by failing to inquire about the pilot s personal life that was obviously affecting his
professional life. Procedures should have been followed to take the pilot out of
service until a proper determination could be made about his ability to perform his
duties properly. The HFACS model would have aided the supervision of Zonk

Suspense In Stephen King
Most readers identify Stephen King s works as horror, however he sees them as
suspense novels (citation needed). Stephen King is often associated with the
horror genre because of his excessive use of gore in his novels. However, gore is
merely a side agenda that helps King shape his ideas. Instead, King s main goal is
to create suspense. By creating a vivid image of the impact of a murder, rape, or
other catastrophe he is able to foster his goal by unnerving his reader and creating a
conflict. Stephen Kings extensive and creative use of detail and literary elements in
his novels assists the motive for the conflict between good and evil, constructs a
complete depiction of the supernatural and reality, and builds an ongoing sense of
tension.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, King writes Big Jim dropped the ball to his side. His shoulder was
throbbing. Now blood was pouring onto the carpet, and still the son of a buck
[Coggins, priest] wouldn t go down; still he came forward, trying to talk and
spitting scarlet in a fine spray (King 292). First, this example shows the great detail
he goes into when describing a murder. Second, this quote shows how he used the
detail to magnify the evil in Big Jim. Most importantly, it sets up the story for Big
Jim to frame Barbie, the good guy, for the murder of Coggins and three others.
Lucky for Jim, people trust him because he has been in Chester s Mill longer than
Barbie. Sadly, this means Barbie s friends have to come together to destroy the
corruption set up by Big Jim. Thus, this detail sets up the battle between good and
evil. Consistently, King uses this method to shape the consequence of a
Essay On Man s Search For Meaning
A prominent quote in the bible comes from John 8:13 and states, The truth will set
you free . According to this, knowing the truth will free one from the prison of
falsehood, and yet the truth is often accompanied by some form of suffering.
Knowing the truth will free someone from the lie they are living, but it may not be
a life they wish to be freed from. In difficult situations, people often rely on illusion
and live in denial as a way to survive, due to the truthbeing too difficult to accept. In
order to find meaning in one s life while suffering or experiencing a difficult
situation, meaning is often found in illusions and false hoods, rather than in reality.

Illusion, it seemed, was the best remedy to survive the horrors of the camps.
Frankl used this illusion to ignore the reality of what he was suffering from in
order to find meaning and be able to survive. If one were to fixate on the horrors of
the reality he was living, he would be unable to see a future outside the camp and
therefore a reason to live, ultimately resulting in his demise.
The idea of using illusion to escape the horrors of reality is depicted by Cypher in
The Matrix. Cypher had been awoken by Morpheus and reborn into the real world
outside the Matrix. In the movie Cypher is seen at dinner with Agent Smith, and
describes to the agent that ... I know this steak doesn t exist. I know when I put it in
my mouth; the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy, and delicious. After nine
years.. you know what I realize? Ignorance is bliss (Wachowski, The Matrix). This is
Cypher s justification for betraying his friends and helping the agents protect the
Matrix against Morpheus and his allies. Cypher was disgusted by the nature of reality
in comparison to the blissful illusion that the Matrix provided, and he was desperate
to return to that. Because of this, Cypher, during a mission, separated himself from
the others in the Matrix and returned to reality, shooting Tank and then unplugging
Apoc and Switch to kill them. As he attempted to kill neo, Tank regained
consciousness and stopped Cypher

D-Day Of Nazi Germany Essay
June 6, 1944, marked the start of the liberation of Nazi Germany. Many lives were
lost by both sides but all of those lives that were lost were brave people who fought
for a great cause. To make this day a success the US made many fake attacks. These
attacks played an amazing role in the win of the war. D Day was a major turning
point in WWII; without a win on the beaches of Normandy Nazi Germanywould ve
kept getting stronger.
The US and its allied forces (Britain and Canada) had many conferences to talk
about how and where they were going to attack Nazi, Germany. Some of the most
important conferences were the Sextant and Eureka meetings. At both of the
meetings the people talked about the battle strategy and who was going where. All
allied generals were required to come to these (CNN.com). The US was first

Relationship Between Glucose And Sucrose
The independent research project is designed to test the relationship between
amounts of sucrose and glucose produced and its conversion to carbon dioxide
through the process of cellular respiration. The familiar white granules commonly
used for baking are known as table sugar or sucrose. Sucrose consists of glucoseand
fructose, which are forms of sugars that are the most basic types of carbohydrates.
The breakdown of sugars occur through chemical processes and ultimately, results in
production of carbon dioxide. The use of enzymes is required to create this process.
An enzyme speeds up the process of breaking down sucrose into glucose. Sucrose
and glucose are considered to be carbohydrates and more specifically known as
simple sugars. Glucose is a monosaccharide and helps build the disaccharide known
as sucrose. Enzymes are proteins and they help make multiple different chemical
reactions faster. In humans, the enzyme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

specific molecule that provides energy in a form that cells can use for cellular
processes. Cellular respiration is a process that cells use to transfer energy from
the organic molecules in food to be released into ATP energy and carbon dioxide.
The release of energy from organic molecules and precisely glucose is an example
of cellular respiration. Energy is essential for growth, repair, and movement in
living organisms. Cellular respiration allows the cells to use the energy from each
glucose molecule more efficiently in order to make as many ATP molecules as
possible and produce high levels of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a colorless
gas that is crucial to all living organisms on this planet. Carbon dioxide production
can be directly related to the energy production from fermentation. It is these complex
cellular processes that will be further examined in this research

Organization Development and Its Relevance to the...
Introduction
Over the last 40 years, organization development has been widely applied in
organizations settings across the world since it emanated from United States (Rees,
2008) and has progressed from a limited conceptual and practice base into a
comprehensive, global approach to organizational improvement (Glassman and
Cummings,1991), so it seems that understanding organization development s content
and its relations to organizations has become more and more critical for OD
professions. Therefore, as a student study organizational change and development, I
will explore these aspects in this essay.
1. Organization Development

To conclude, organization development, as crucial as it is, it is interdisciplinary in
nature and draws on sociology, psychology, and theories of motivation, learning, and
personality (Meyer and Meyer, 2011), can be treated as a process through which
organization develop by adopting a series of planned intervention strategies that aim
to enhance the effectiveness of the organizations and its well being (Mulili and

2. Why Organization Development is relevant to a organizational context: using a
Chinese state owned enterprise as an example
With the advent of the changing era, the world s business environment has become a
rather dynamic and comprehensive one. Operating in today s increasingly risky,
rapidly changing and unpredictable global business environment, organizations have
to constantly adjust their internal configurations structure, work processes,
technology, and culture to cope the changing environment and to maintain efficiency
(Sun, 2000), therefore, organization development, has been adopted as an effective
approach to deal with this changing environment by many organizations all around
the world since its core is about planning change. And according to the text above,
organization development can be treated as a process through which

I m craving for French food. Want to go get some?
That s one phrase I ve never had to answer simply because no one brings that up.
We don t go to French restaurants on a student budget because almost anything
with the word French attached to it is a tad bit overpriced. When I think of
enjoying French food, I think of men having to wear pressed suits and women
donning their glamorous dresses and high heels, then they need to have powdered
noses and carefully coiffed hair before being served food in very large plates but
with tiny portions. It s a cuisine of the elite but for something so highly regarded it s
ironic that French food isn t too much known compared to what people know of

The Film Shawshank Redemption By Frank Darabont Essay
In the Film Shawshank Redemption (1994) directed by Frank Darabont, Andy was
wrongfully convicted of killing his wife and is shipped off to Shawshank prison.
The prison is run by Warden Norton who is a corrupt leader. When Andy first arrives
at the prison he is very timid and shy. As the film progresses, Andy breaks out of his
shell and starts building relationships with Red and the other prisoners. Throughout
the film we learn that Andy is an ex banker who Norton enlist to help him with his
taxes and balancing the books. Soon enough Andy realizes that Norton was
laundering money. The movie displays many of the concepts that we have learned
throughout Organizational Behavior textbook written by Cohen Et Al. Throughout
the paper I will be talking about how Shawshank Redemptionrelates to the concepts
we have learned in the textbook specifically in chapter 8 and 10.
Chapter eight of the Organizational Textbook talks about personal systems. In
Shawshank each character had their own personal systems (Cohen Et Al pg. 172).
(Appendix A) Andy had strong values. He believed in building strong relationships
and was very generous towards the other prisoners. One example of this is when
Andy decided to help some prisoners get there high school diploma / GED (
Darabot, 1994). Andy had a strong belief for education and thought it was important
for his fellow prisoners to have an equal chance of getting there diploma. He also
believed in bettering the Shawshank library. In the movie
The Impact Of Poplar Plantation On The World s Largest...
Poplar is a versatile tree species that is highly amenable to vegetative propagation
(Jiaxing et al. 2014), it has a rapid growth rate, which is a good model system for
the transformation of woody plant species (Ali Movahedi et al.2014). These trees
are highly beneficial to our environment; their oxygen plays a vital role in the
protection of soil erosion in eastern China. They are used as habitat for wildlife, soil
carbon sequestration, and phytoremediation. They are able to grow in lowland and
highland forestation (Bernd et al., 2004), which makes them very important to the
pulp, paper, and cosmetic industries (Ferreira et al., 2009). The P. deltoides are one of
the fastest growing trees in North America (Haverbeke et al., 2000). They are the
largest North American hardwood tree (Steve Nix, et al., 2001). Poplar plantation
plays an important role in eastern China agriculture industries. In 2002, the Republic
of China launched the world s largest tree planting project, within the same year their
State Forestry Administration approved genetically modified poplars for commercial
planting.China has over one million genetically modified crops that have been
planted (Chris Lang, 2004). Furthermore, they have over 7.0 million hm2 poplars
planted, which makes them one of the countries with the largest poplar plantation. As
many countries, The Chinese government is highly interested in poplar plantations

Literary Devices In The Odyssey
The first literary device used to show growth of a character is setting. The setting
can place a hero anywhere and give detail to his past. Such as in the Odysses, I will
take no horses back with me to Ithaca, but will leave them to adorn your own
stables, for you have much flatground in your kingdom where lotus thrives, as also
meadowsweet and wheat and barley, and oats with their white and spreading ears;
whereas in Ithaca we have neither open fields nor racecourses, and the country is
more fit for goats than horses, and I like it the better for that.None of our islands
have much level ground, suitable for horses, and Ithaca least of all (Homer). Ulysses

Leading to the hero, Beowulf, to be seen as the light or the savior of the town.
Grendel, the monster Beowulf has come to defeat, has created a town of despair
and anguish. Beowulf s job is to defeat the monster and bring hope and joy back to
the town. The setting characterizes the hero as a god like man, seen as in Beowulf,
...They lived in secret places, windy Cliffs, wolf dens where water pours from the
rocks, then runs underground, where mist steams like black clouds, and the groves
of trees growing out over their lake are all covered with frozen spray, and wind
down snakelike roots that reach as far as the water and help keep it dark(Beers 25).
Giving the story of Beowulf a dark outlook had lead Beowulf, to give off a larger
than life personality, almost god like. The monsters both Grendel, his mother, and
the dragon all live in daunting places. This has caused them to look more
monstrous and evil. Some settings make the hero look foolish, such as in the Iliad,
Trojans take refuge behind the walls of their city, but Hector remains outside the
gates. As Achilles races toward Troy, Hector s parents urge their son to come back
inside the city walls(Beers 58). The setting of the Iliad places Hector outside of the
safety of the city; ready to battle against
Human Nature In Jane Heaney s Blackberry Picking And
Follower
Heaney often wrote, in his poems, about his childhood in the countryside. Two
good examples of this are Blackberry Picking and Follower. In these you can see
the human nature of children and how adult look back on their past. Heaney shows
this though the structure, imagery and language in the two poems. Firstly, in
Blackberry Picking, Heaney uses the structure of the poem to tell us about human
nature. For example, the slow familiar rhythm of the iambic pentameter creates a
reflective tone where the voice in the poem looks back at past lessons learnt. This
shows how we glamorize the past, even our bad experiences, and make them into
stories so we can learn from them. Similarly, heaney uses half rhyming couplets
which soften to reduce the rigidity and create a calm and peaceful, summer scene.
This also reflects the blurred, romantic memory of the situation that we apply to all
our experience however gruesome. In addition, by using lists and multiple points of
enjambment Heaney give the poem a childlike and excited tone. This conveys the
image not only of children and their views on the world, but also how we consider
the past and become children again. Finally, the long first stanza filled with the
collection of the sweet fruit is destroyed quickly from the short, second stanza full of
rot, decay and rat grey fungus . This suggest that however much we gather and hoard
our wealth will always deteriorate, often though death. This emphasise how horrible

New Motorcycle Helmet And Safety Technology
Within the last few decades technology has made incredible advances. We have
traded in our flip phones for smart phones, massive televisions for thin HD (High
Definition) quality tv s, and maps for GPS (Global Positioning Service). Even
automobiles have received a sufficient amount of advancements including backup
cameras, built in GPS, and quality audio for your luxurious preferences. That being
said, What has technology prepared to improve on the quality of a motorcyclerider?
Motorcyclists average more deaths per year, than the entire time America has been at
war fighting terrorism. Well now with the help of Digital Trends and Revzilla, Skully

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration there are
840,000 wrecks due to blind spots. This feature alone will drastically reduce that
number and ultimately save lives. Another innovative feature this helmet provides
is a HUD (Heads Up Display). This display can provide the rider with a more
interactive setting. Such as blinking dot when a vehicle is too close and also when
you might get cut off. The HUD can also display your current gear and speed your
traveling. This is very beneficial due to the fact that many drivers get complacent
behind the wheel and that usually leads to accident. With these three astonishing
features the Ap 1 provides, the rider will be more aware of their surroundings
which will tremendously lower the risks of an accident. A lot of automobile
drivers do not like to ride their motorcycle because it does not have the slightest,
yet very beneficial items that a new automobile has. An additional remarkable
feature Skully has added to this helmet is the luxurious capabilities a car partakes
in. This helmet allows the rider to have an amazing experience just like a car. One of
these features is its Bluetooth capabilities. Most motorcyclists use headphones to
listen to their music and when their ear buds fell out the rider had to remove his
entire helmet and put them back in. This task may be minor but can be very irritating
after a certain point. Can you imagine
Obesity Problem In America
Over the past twenty five years, obesity ratio has been rising dramatically. And it is
continued to become a problem in the United States. Obesity is a serious problem
which should be concerned and solved by our society. The negative effects it has
on individual are much larger than we think. Gaining extra weight, heart disease,
and serious problems can change our human life forever. Furthermore, obesity also
affects the society by costing tax payers and the government money to treat these
issues. There are currently many ways of how to fight and stop the problem while
it is increasing. One of the ways to help us combat with the obesity is to look at the
causes such as: lack of energy balance, physical activity, and heredity. First of all,...

It leads to adult weight gaining continue to rise dramatically. Causing obesity is
not just the lack of energy balance, it s also the physical inactivity of the society.
There are many people spends hours in front of computers doing work, watching
television, or enjoying leisure time. They don t even move for a long period. In
fact, overweight and obesity has linked to the result of viewing more than two
hours of regular television time. It is more difficult to turn back or create an active
lifestyle for adults or children. Due to better transportations and higher technology,
people are relying on those too much. In the pass, people used to walk or ride
bicycles instead of driving cars. A lot of calories would be burned through out
those activities. Because of the modern technology and its conveniences, there are
fewer demands at workplaces or at home. We also used to hand made everything in
the factory. But now, the workers just only have to push a button and rely on those

The physical activity and exercise are very important determinants of the trend in
obesity. People who are lacking of exercise are more likely to be obesity because
the calories they take in from food and drinks aren t burned enough. Exercise can
be a valid way to lose weight other than diet. Because the extra energy we consume
is stored by the body as fat if we re not active enough. Exercising just only thirty

The Myth of Money and Success
The American Dream is different for everyone, though it is most commonly
associated with success, freedom, and happiness. The concept of the American
Dream seems to have dwindled from where it was in the past few generations. It has
gone from success, freedom, and happiness to having lots of money and the nicest
possessions. In today s society, we all hope and strive for this dream, but how many
actually achieve the American Dream? Is it a reasonable goal that Americans should
strive for, or is it a myth that only leads to self destruction? According to Horatio
Alger and Toni Cade Bambara, they both believe the concept that the American

Today, as well as back in the 1800 s when the story was written, most people s
dreams are to achieve success. This formally became known as The American
Dream . Although this may seem strange for everyone to have the same idea, it
really isn t when you look at it with an open perspective. Each and every person s
perception of success is extremely different and individual, which makes everyone
s dreams different. There may be people who strive for big goals, and there may be
others who take it one day at a time, achieving happiness on a less formal level. In
comparing the time period of the story to our society today, there are many
similarities and differences to consider. According within the world we live today,
people tend to set much higher goals and expectations for themselves, whereas, in
Ragged Dick, it was more of a day to day type situation. When people set smaller,
more realistic goals, it results in more happiness and comfort in their lifestyle.
However, in today s world, Americans have become so incredibly competitive and
successful, that the standards have been significantly raised to the point where
personal happiness is no longer good enough. After reading a novel like Horatio
Alger s Ragged Dick, you subconsciously make yourself realize the important
underlying message that he is trying to portray. To me, this message is to always be
optimistic, and no matter how bad your life is, it can always get better if you are

The Basilica Of The Assumption Of Our Lady Of Valencia
Art, the way that many cultures have expressed their ideals and culture through out
time. Many artists from multiple cultures have arisen and created masterpieces of
art: Everything from paintings, to massive architecture, and statues. The massive
piece of art I will be focusing on today will be the Basilica of the Assumption of our
Lady of Valencia or The Valencia Cathedral for short. This massive architecture
shows a compelling example of Gothic art during this era.
The cathedral first came to be after the Christian s re conquered Valencia back from
the Arab communities, who had conquered it from the Spaniards in 723 C.E.
While under the Moors (Arab Empire) control the old church that stood there
became a mosque. After the Spanish acquired Valencia back, the bishop of
Valencia ruled the mosque was to be replaced for a Basilica. This was to strengthen
the support for the Christian religion and to recruit more people to the church. This
effort was made to rekindle and bring piece of mind to the people in the region who
stayed while the Moors soldiers ruled. So in 1238 C.E. the Valencia Cathedral was
born. As gothic style of art swept Europe, the pope at the time decided to adopt this
style of art. As the book Art: A Brief History states, By the middle thirteenth century
builders had thoroughly mastered the design principles and building technology of
Gothic architecture and began to focus attention on elaborating and refining the visual
elements of the style.
Is Hemophilia A Possible Cause Of Unexpected Bleeding...
Introduction
Hemophilia is a possible cause of unexpected bleeding during surgery. This paper will
discuss important topics related to hemophilia, including pathology, risk factors, signs
and symptoms, and treatment.
Anatomy and Physiology of Hemostasis
Hemostasis is the process whereby blood coagulates at the site of an injury to a blood
vessel. Cellular components involved in hemostasis include platelets, endothelial
cells of blood vessels, tissue factor bearing cells, and coagulation factors (Davoren
Wang, 2014). Coagulation factors are specialized plasma proteins that circulate in
the bloodstream in inactive forms. Most coagulation factors are activated by
enzymes that catalyze their conversion to active forms. The active forms then
contribute to hemostasis. Factors VIII (FVIII) and IX (FIX) are the factors involved
in the most common forms of hemophilia. The coagulation cascade has many steps
and reciprocal interactions; however, FVIII and FIX are most involved with the
following steps:
Injured blood vessel cells release tissue factor (TF), which activates factor VII.
Activated factor VII (FVIIa) and TF bind together to form complex TF VIIa.
Complex TF VIIa activates FIX and X.
Activated factor X converts prothrombin to thrombin.
Thrombin activates factors VIII, V, and XI.
Activated FVIII and FIX also convert prothrombin to thrombin (Davoren Wang,
2014).
There are other coagulation factors, enzymes, and steps involved in the coagulation
cascade. As
Analysis Of Clocks And Lovers
Timely Indulgence Often, the history behind love stories has two if not more
sides. Both sides of this story can be seen in W.H. Auden s poem Clocks and
Lovers, in which each side has a different attitude. The attitudes of the clocks differs
greatly from that of the lover, with opposite points of view. Both attitudes relate to
separate groups of people and are shown simply through analysis of the poem,
because the poet uses literary devicesto emphasize both perspectives. While the lover
overzealously believes his lovecan transcend time, the clocks counter by stating that
time s relentlessness erodes all.
The overzealous beliefs brought about by love can be seen in the attitude of the
lover, who acts as though his love will never die and can never be changed by
time. When speaking to his lover, he says I ll love you, dear, I ll love you / Till
China and Africa meet / And the river jumps over the mountain / And the salmon
sing in the street. The last three lines of this stanza are hyperboles, giving the lover
emphasis on how his love will die only when the absolutely impossible happens;
therefore, he believes it is impossible for his love to die. In this stanza imagery is
the upfront literary device, as is seen when Auden uses strong phrases such as
salmon sing and river jumps to create an image of the impossible occurring to add to
the unrealistic attitude of the lover. Impossible events continue to occur when the
lover says I ll love you till the ocean /

Brooklyn, NY. The mission statement for the organization is, to enhance the
functioning and self sufficiency of diverse marginalized communities and prevent
family disintegration. I am currently doing individual, family, couples, and group
psychotherapyat the outpatient clinic. The clinic is in a lower socioeconomic area in
Bushwick, that is currently in the process of gentrification. The program that I work
in specifically, offers both therapeutic and psychiatric services for the patients that are
enrolled in the program.
The client population that we serve primarily has Medicaid, and the clinic does
have a sliding scale for those who do not have insurance. Anyone from the ages of
5 99 years old can receive services through the organization. The majority of the
population primarily speak Spanish and are of the Hispanic descent. Many of the
patients that are seen at the clinic have a wide range of diagnosis such as:
depression, bi polar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, and schizophrenia. The patients are in
the lower income bracket, and are working between 1 2 jobs to support their family.
Many times they live with many other family members in a small and/or temporary
housing unit.
My position within the agency is very clinical. We are suggested to see our patients
once a week and are expected to complete a psychosocial assessment and a treatment
plan for them. Together with the patient, I

segmentation to categorize audiences (based on interest, age, race, class, etc.) and
then to appeal to those audiences. Another way to view audience segmentation would
be the process of dividing people into homogeneous subgroups based upon defined

Hardware
Monitor Visually Displaying the image on Screen, they come in a very of different
sizes and resolutions. The monitor is an output device where is receives information
from the computer to display the image on the screen in the form of pixels. This data
usually comes from the Graphics Card or the integrated graphics within the processor
outputted by the motherboard. This connects to the computer either via HMDI, VGA,
DVI or Thunderbolt.
Graphics Card display the data on the screen. These consist of small pixels but
many millions of them. So the graphics card is a translator and takes binary data
from the CPU and turns it into a picture you can see on the monitor. Unless there is
an integrated GPU built in with the motherboard then this replaces it. It s
connected to the motherboard by slotting in the PCI slot which is shown with the
arrow. Also there is a power cable which is connected to it from the PSU and a
cable to connect to the monitor (VGA, HDMI and DVI). It is required in order to
reduce the power output from the CPU needed to display the image. This allows the
CPU to perform other background tasks whilst the GPU can deal with displaying the

The novel The Body in the Library is an English characterized as crime novel,
written by Agatha Christie and published by Dodd, Mead, and Company. The early
version of this novel was published in February 1942 in the United Kingdom. The
novel is telling a story about a young woman s body that was found in the Colonel
and Mrs. Bantry s library by their maid. When Mrs. Bantry sees the body, she calls
her old friend, Miss Marple, to investigate this crime. By the time, the body had

Enterococci Research Paper
The Enteroccocci species are a group of gram positive, round shaped, facultative
anaerobic cocci bacteria that are normally present in the human intestines and in the
female genital tract. These bacteria can also be found within the environment. They
are resistant to several antibiotics, but in the past, physicians could rely on the drug
vancomycin to effectively treat enterococcal infections. A couple decades ago
doctors and researchers discovered that a new strain was being formed and that some
enterococci have become resistant to vancomycin (reference). Vancomycin resistance
is acquired when a sensitive Enterococcus acquires a special piece of DNA called a
plasmid that permits the bacteriato become resistant to vancomycin hence the term
vancomycin resistant enterococci (VRE). The two main species that cause problems
are vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium and vancomycin resistant
Enterococcus faecalis. E.faecium is the most common species of VRE. Unlike
E.coil these bacteria do not have the same genus as other common fecal bacteria.

have discovered over the years that a person is more likely to attract the VRE bacteria

Inclusion has become the primary service delivery model for students with
disabilities. Politicians, law makers and education lobbyists continue to put
academic pressures on schools and teachers while the topic of inclusion continues
to be one of the most debated topics in education (Cooper Tompkins, 1993). The
Education for All handicapped Children Act (EAHCA) in 1975 (P.L. 94 142), No

Bugsy Siegel Scandal
Eventually Wilkerson was forced out as an owner. He was so thoroughly
intimidated that he flew to Paris and stayed in a hotel under a fake name. That
wasn t a wise move as Bugsy Siegel was a powerful criminal, but struggled to stay
afloat in the legitimate business world. Despite Bugsy s reputation for violence, he
was reportedly ripped off repeatedly by construction contractors. They sold him
supplies at three times the market price. They also stole his supplies and then sold
them right back to him. As a result, there were lengthy construction delays and the
budget eventually ballooned to $6 million from the original $1 million budget. The

complete disaster. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cuba s Fulgencio Batista was a notoriously corrupt dictator, but he valued Lanksy s
reputation as an honest casino operator. He begged Lansky to remove the shady
operators who had cheated tourists out of their money. Lansky, a protГ©gГ© of
Arnold Rothstein, differed from his mentor and several other short sighted crime
bosses. Lansky recognized that it was more profitable in the long run to not cheat
your clients, thereby avoiding bad publicity. On the other hand, there was plenty of
negative publicity in the newspapers surrounding who actually owned the casinos;
although, that only added to the appeal for many American tourists. In fact,
George Raft, a Hollywood actor whose name was synonymous gangster roles, was
hired by one Cuban casino as a host. To sum up, Fidel Castro and many Cubans
viewed the casinos as a symbol of American imperialism. Therefore, the casinos
were raided immediately during the revolution that took place on December 31,
1958. In fact, Castro s forces captured the Tampa crime boss, Santo Trafficante, in the
aftermath of the revolution and Trafficante would likely have been executed if he
had not bribed his way out of
Act Of 1964 Reflection
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a major achievement in granting equal opportunity
for everyone regardless of their differences. This piece of legislation crafted a
framework for change and was created with the intent that all human beings be
treated with dignity and respect. Unfortunately, legislation cannot force people to
change their hearts and attitudes, and 50+ years later, we see this legislation is still
regarded and relevant as more and more groups are singled out for their differences.
As a Cuban American, I have seen discriminationfirsthand. While I have had it
better than some of my peers because I don t possess some of the obvious physical
traits that so many people use to label and denigrate Hispanics, I have seen my friends

While it may sound clichГ©, it is pretty much true that everyone knows everyone
else s business in a small town. This can be both comforting and concerning for a
teenage girl. While it is nice to live in a place where everyone knows your name, it
does not allow a great deal of room for error. Since my parents are both educators,
they have always had a front row seat for who my friends were, what my grades
were in my classes, and if I was causing any problems. I used to think this was a real
burden to bear, but now that I am older I see that it has taught me some valuable
lessons and shaped my personality for the better. It makes me think about my
choices and if they are something that I would be proud for everyone to see. It
makes me value close friends and people who know my history and where I came
from and love me for all of it (or in spite of it!). It makes me understand that all
actions have consequences, and I need to be prepared to deal with them with
honesty and integrity. Living in a small town is much like being a movie star or a
professional athlete. Everyone knows you, and some of them look up to you, so you
need to live your life in a way that can be an example for
Renaissance Art Change
The Renaissance was a time of progression in art. It became a more popular job due
to the Medici, and therefore art itself changed and grew throughout the Renaissance.
Art became more realistic in the Renaissance due to the development of new paint,
linear perspective, and the study of anatomy. To begin with, art changed and became
more realistic during the Renaissance. When oil was used in the 15th century it
offered greater realism and allowed for finer detail than before. 1 Oil paint made it
easier to blend, thus creating a more convincing illusion of depth and realism.
Before, tempera paint was used, which dried very quickly, making it difficult to get
smooth blending. ...[Another] essential advancement made by Renaissance painters
was the use of perspective, or the appearance of distance or depth on a flat surface.
... They showed perspective by enlarging objects closer to the front, using precise
shading, drawing lines closer together as they receded, and other skillful methods. 2
Perspective allowed artists to create more realistic work. Anatomy was also improved
upon during the Renaissance. Instead of the stiff figures common in art from the
Middle Ages, people had energy and fluid movements. Artists also focused on things
such as muscles that would help them create figures that looked as... Show more

Although oil paint was not used, it has the smooth blending that an oil painting has,
due to the gouache paint used. It is also a secular painting, meaning it is not
religious. The art piece also shows a knowledge of facial anatomy as well as
attention to detail, which is something Renaissance artists were well known for. All
of these attributes are that of a typical Renaissance painting. Overall, art changed
drastically during the Renaissance. With new ideas and different approaches, the
Renaissance was a huge influence on art as we know it. Without the Renaissance, art
today would not be the
Essay On Phonetics And Phonology
This paper investigates the contribution of early Arab scholars in general phonetics
and phonology and its impact on modern phonetics. It is important to note that
phonetics and phonology were not independent disciplines. Rather, they were part of
other disciplines. Therefore, in terms of early Arab contribution to phoneticsand
phonology, their scholarship can be derived from three major areas:
(i) Arabic linguistics whose pioneers are AlkhalД«l Al FarДЃhД«di through his book
Al ain, Sibawayh through his book Al KitДЃb, and Ibn Jinni through his book Sir
SМҐina at Ali rДЃb.
(ii) medicine, philosophy and music whose most prominent figures are Al Kindi
through his book IstikhrДЃj Al mu mma, Al FarДЃbi through his book Al MusД«qДЃ

According to this phonological rule, he classifies sounds into consonants and vowels
(sДЃit and sДЃmit). Based on his own statistics, Al Kindi makes a universal
conclusion that consonants are more frequent than vowels in all languages. Then, he
divides vowels into long and short. Moreover, he establishes more than one hundred
phonological rules of euphony and cacophony. Al Kindi has also written another
book of applied phonetics (Allathghah (lisping)) in which he tackles speech defects.
In the introduction of the book, he gives a detailed description of the speech
mechanisms of various languages. Then he discusses the reasons of lisping and the
description of places of articulation with an anatomical analysis. Al Kindi is the first
Arabic physician who discusses acoustic phonetics, dynamics of air, air stream
mechanism, and auditory perception of linguistic and non linguistic sounds (Al Hleis,
Why Was Pickett s Charge At The Battle Of Gettysburg...
Some feel that Pickett s Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg was not very important,
but I say they are wrong. It included more than 20,000 soldiers altogether, including
250 items of artillery. Also, by holding the Rebel soldiers off, it helped the Union
get a win at the Battle of Gettysburg. It also boosted the morale of the Union
soldiers, because they were losing some battles before Gettysburg. First, the
numbers. There were over 20,000 soldiers altogether, and 250 items of artillery. It
resulted in the deaths of 6,000 rebels out of the 15,000 that were part of the
charge. There were only 6,500 Union soldiers to hold off the attack, but they were
dug in and armed with cannons. The rebels were able to take a position in the Union
The Practice Of Paying Bonus
The practice of paying bonus in India appears to have originated during First World
War when certain textile mills granted 10% of wages as war bonus to their
workers in 1917. In certain cases of industrial disputes demand for payment of
bonus was also included. In 1950, the Full Bench of the Labour Appellate evolved a
formula for determination of bonus. A plea was made to raise that formula in 1959.
At the second and third meetings of the Eighteenth Session of Standing Labour
Committee (G. O.I.) held in New Delhi in March/April 1960, it was agreed that a
Commission be appointed to go into the question of bonus and evolve suitable norms.
A Tripartite Commission was set up by the Governmentof India to consider in a
comprehensive manner, the question of payment of bonus based on profits to
employees employed in establishments and to make recommendations to the
Government. The Government of Indiaaccepted the recommendations of the
Commission subject to certain modifications. To implement these recommendations
the Payment of Bonus Ordinance, 1965 was promulgated on 29th May, 1965. To
replace the said Ordinance the Payment of Bonus Bill was introduced in the
Parliament.
Statement of Objective and Reasons
A Tripartite Commission was set by the Government of India by their resolution
No.WB 20(9)/61, dated 6th December, 1961 to consider in a comprehensive manner,
the question of payment of bonus based on profits to employees employed in
establishments and to make recommendations to

Essay On Creativity. How to write a good creative essay?

  • 1. Essay On Creativity Crafting an essay on the subject of creativity is an intricate endeavor that demands more than just a superficial exploration of the concept. The challenge lies not only in defining creativity but also in unraveling its multifaceted dimensions and understanding its implications across various domains. The task requires a delicate balance between scholarly research and personal insights, making it a test of one's analytical and expressive abilities. Attempting to encapsulate the essence of creativity within the confines of an essay compels the writer to grapple with the elusive nature of the topic. Creativity is not a monolithic entity; rather, it spans a spectrum of forms, from artistic endeavors to scientific innovations. Consequently, delving into the diverse realms of creativity demands an exhaustive exploration of historical contexts, psychological theories, and real-world applications. Moreover, the paradox of creativity lies in its apparent spontaneity juxtaposed with the disciplined processes that often underlie it. This dichotomy necessitates a nuanced approach to essay writing, requiring the author to navigate the tension between chaos and order, intuition and method. Balancing these elements demands an acute awareness of the intricate interplay between individual genius and external influences. Furthermore, the very act of articulating thoughts on creativity poses a paradox – can creativity itself be expressed within the structured framework of an essay? This question underscores the challenge of the task, as the writer grapples with the irony of trying to capture the essence of something that thrives on defying conventions. In conclusion, writing an essay on the expansive and elusive topic of creativity is an intellectual journey that demands intellectual dexterity and a deep understanding of the subject matter. It requires a delicate dance between analysis and inspiration, structure and spontaneity. The difficulty lies not just in presenting information but in capturing the essence of a concept that, by its very nature, eludes easy definition. If you find yourself grappling with the intricacies of such essays or need assistance in navigating the complexities of various topics, consider seeking help. Services likeHelpWriting.net offer professional support in crafting well-researched and eloquently written essays. Drew Pershing, another senior, also shared a joke, What does a woman do after she leaves a battered shelter? The dishes...if she knows what s good for her! Daily jokes and comments such as these, no matter how harmless, are detrimental to the status of women and a dangerous undermining of their accomplishments. Shared by both genders, sexually discriminative comments are widely accepted in society as normal and harmless. I didn t mean anything by that; I was just kidding, whimpered Ben Glantz after receiving several cold stares from young women who overheard his bashing, sexist comment. Women have ... Some women abuse feminism by using it as an excuse to speak their minds, but others use feminism as a tool to open people s eyes to the often ignored problem of inequality. This belief in a tolerant assertiveness, a claim in human participation and human rights is called power feminism (Wolf, 1993). If used ideally, power feminism effectively accomplishes its task of bringing self worth. . . to every woman s life, states Naomi Wolf. On the other hand, victim feminism makes a woman out to be a defenseless angel who pleads for the mercy of other by acting as a victim. Seeking power through a powerless position of dependence only slows the feminist movement. All around the world women are crying out, claiming that it is no longer acceptable to discuss women s rights as separate form human rights, (Hillary Clinton Tumulty, 1997). The abuses females endure are found everywhere in places like Senegal, Bangladesh, and Berjing, China. Abortion, denial of political rights, and suppression of speech (Tumulty) are forces upon women daily. But feminism has taken a strong hold of the women around the world, giving them hope for equal rights in the future. Our community could see we were a society of strong willed women, prides Faustima Nunez, a resident of Chica, and we are no

In the middle of what was supposed to be a very happy and cheerful event, three people lost their lives and 264 others were injured when two pressure cooker bombs went off near the finish line. Even though this was a truly horrific event, the initial response of the BostonPolice Department to the explosions was incredible. Within minutes, additional Emergency Medical Service teams and the Boston Fire Department were rushing to the scene, hotels were evacuated, and police closed down a 15 block area around the blast site. Local, state, and federal agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and private sector partners in Boston were all involved in helping to develop plans to define the certain roles and responsibilities for everyone during the Boston Marathon. Along with developing the plans for what to do, they also conducted exercises in order to test the plans out and see how well communication and coordination is during these large scale events. While doing more research on how this emergency planning goes down, I came across a term I had never heard of before known as a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI). The Emergency Medical Care Advisory Board defines a Mass Casualty Incident as one in which the number of people killed or injured in a single incident is large enough to strain or overwhelm the resources of local EMS providers. The Boston Marathon bombing event definitely classified as a MCI and during the emergency response to the bombings, the performance from the response teams easily demonstrated the benefits of all the planning and test exercises they were doing prior to the

  • 7. Suspense In Stephen King Most readers identify Stephen King s works as horror, however he sees them as suspense novels (citation needed). Stephen King is often associated with the horror genre because of his excessive use of gore in his novels. However, gore is merely a side agenda that helps King shape his ideas. Instead, King s main goal is to create suspense. By creating a vivid image of the impact of a murder, rape, or other catastrophe he is able to foster his goal by unnerving his reader and creating a conflict. Stephen Kings extensive and creative use of detail and literary elements in his novels assists the motive for the conflict between good and evil, constructs a complete depiction of the supernatural and reality, and builds an ongoing sense of tension.... First, this example shows the great detail he goes into when describing a murder. Second, this quote shows how he used the detail to magnify the evil in Big Jim. Most importantly, it sets up the story for Big Jim to frame Barbie, the good guy, for the murder of Coggins and three others. Lucky for Jim, people trust him because he has been in Chester s Mill longer than Barbie. Sadly, this means Barbie s friends have to come together to destroy the corruption set up by Big Jim. Thus, this detail sets up the battle between good and evil. Consistently, King uses this method to shape the consequence of a

The idea of using illusion to escape the horrors of reality is depicted by Cypher in The Matrix. Cypher had been awoken by Morpheus and reborn into the real world outside the Matrix. Relationship Between Glucose And Sucrose The independent research project is designed to test the relationship between amounts of sucrose and glucose produced and its conversion to carbon dioxide through the process of cellular respiration. The familiar white granules commonly used for baking are known as table sugar or sucrose. Sucrose consists of glucoseand fructose, which are forms of sugars that are the most basic types of carbohydrates. The breakdown of sugars occur through chemical processes and ultimately, results in production of carbon dioxide. The use of enzymes is required to create this process. An enzyme speeds up the process of breaking down sucrose into glucose. Sucrose and glucose are considered to be carbohydrates and more specifically known as simple sugars. Such as in the Odysses, I will take no horses back with me to Ithaca, but will leave them to adorn your own stables, for you have much flatground in your kingdom where lotus thrives, as also meadowsweet and wheat and barley, and oats with their white and spreading ears; whereas in Ithaca we have neither open fields nor racecourses, and the country is more fit for goats than horses, and I like it the better for that.None of our islands have much level ground, suitable for horses, and Ithaca least of all (Homer). Leading to the hero, Beowulf, to be seen as the light or the savior of the town. Grendel, the monster Beowulf has come to defeat, has created a town of despair and anguish. Beowulf s job is to defeat the monster and bring hope and joy back to the town. The setting characterizes the hero as a god like man, seen as in Beowulf, ...They lived in secret places, windy Cliffs, wolf dens where water pours from the rocks, then runs underground, where mist steams like black clouds, and the groves of trees growing out over their lake are all covered with frozen spray, and wind down snakelike roots that reach as far as the water and help keep it dark(Beers 25). This has caused them to look more monstrous and evil. Some settings make the hero look foolish, such as in the Iliad, Trojans take refuge behind the walls of their city, but Hector remains outside the gates. As Achilles races toward Troy, Hector s parents urge their son to come back inside the city walls(Beers 58). The setting of the Iliad places Hector outside of the safety of the city; ready to battle against
  • 19. Human Nature In Jane Heaney s Blackberry Picking And Follower Heaney often wrote, in his poems, about his childhood in the countryside. Two good examples of this are Blackberry Picking and Follower. In these you can see the human nature of children and how adult look back on their past. Heaney shows this though the structure, imagery and language in the two poems. Firstly, in Blackberry Picking, Heaney uses the structure of the poem to tell us about human nature. For example, the slow familiar rhythm of the iambic pentameter creates a reflective tone where the voice in the poem looks back at past lessons learnt. This shows how we glamorize the past, even our bad experiences, and make them into stories so we can learn from them. Similarly, heaney uses half rhyming couplets which soften to reduce the rigidity and create a calm and peaceful, summer scene. This also reflects the blurred, romantic memory of the situation that we apply to all our experience however gruesome. In addition, by using lists and multiple points of enjambment Heaney give the poem a childlike and excited tone. This conveys the image not only of children and their views on the world, but also how we consider the past and become children again. Finally, the long first stanza filled with the collection of the sweet fruit is destroyed quickly from the short, second stanza full of rot, decay and rat grey fungus . This suggest that however much we gather and hoard our wealth will always deteriorate, often though death. This emphasise how horrible the human nature

Many artists from multiple cultures have arisen and created masterpieces of art: Everything from paintings, to massive architecture, and statues. The massive piece of art I will be focusing on today will be the Basilica of the Assumption of our Lady of Valencia or The Valencia Cathedral for short. This massive architecture shows a compelling example of Gothic art during this era. The cathedral first came to be after the Christian s re conquered Valencia back from the Arab communities, who had conquered it from the Spaniards in 723 C.E. While under the Moors (Arab Empire) control the old church that stood there became a mosque. After the Spanish acquired Valencia back, the bishop of Valencia ruled the mosque was to be replaced for a Basilica. This was to strengthen the support for the Christian religion and to recruit more people to the church. This effort was made to rekindle and bring piece of mind to the people in the region who stayed while the Moors soldiers ruled. So in 1238 C.E. the Valencia Cathedral was born. As gothic style of art swept Europe, the pope at the time decided to adopt this style of art. As the book Art: A Brief History states, By the middle thirteenth century builders had thoroughly mastered the design principles and building technology of Gothic architecture and began to focus attention on elaborating and refining the visual elements of the style.
  • 26. Is Hemophilia A Possible Cause Of Unexpected Bleeding... Introduction Hemophilia is a possible cause of unexpected bleeding during surgery. This paper will discuss important topics related to hemophilia, including pathology, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and treatment. Anatomy and Physiology of Hemostasis Hemostasis is the process whereby blood coagulates at the site of an injury to a blood vessel. Cellular components involved in hemostasis include platelets, endothelial cells of blood vessels, tissue factor bearing cells, and coagulation factors (Davoren Wang, 2014). Coagulation factors are specialized plasma proteins that circulate in the bloodstream in inactive forms. Most coagulation factors are activated by enzymes that catalyze their conversion to active forms. The active forms then contribute to hemostasis. Factors VIII (FVIII) and IX (FIX) are the factors involved in the most common forms of hemophilia. The coagulation cascade has many steps and reciprocal interactions; however, FVIII and FIX are most involved with the following steps: Injured blood vessel cells release tissue factor (TF), which activates factor VII. Activated factor VII (FVIIa) and TF bind together to form complex TF VIIa. Complex TF VIIa activates FIX and X. Activated factor X converts prothrombin to thrombin. Thrombin activates factors VIII, V, and XI. Activated FVIII and FIX also convert prothrombin to thrombin (Davoren Wang, 2014). There are other coagulation factors, enzymes, and steps involved in the coagulation cascade. As

Auden s poem Clocks and Lovers, in which each side has a different attitude. The attitudes of the clocks differs greatly from that of the lover, with opposite points of view. Both attitudes relate to separate groups of people and are shown simply through analysis of the poem, because the poet uses literary devicesto emphasize both perspectives. While the lover overzealously believes his lovecan transcend time, the clocks counter by stating that time s relentlessness erodes all. The overzealous beliefs brought about by love can be seen in the attitude of the lover, who acts as though his love will never die and can never be changed by time. When speaking to his lover, he says I ll love you, dear, I ll love you / Till China and Africa meet / And the river jumps over the mountain / And the salmon sing in the street. The last three lines of this stanza are hyperboles, giving the lover emphasis on how his love will die only when the absolutely impossible happens; therefore, he believes it is impossible for his love to die. In this stanza imagery is the upfront literary device, as is seen when Auden uses strong phrases such as salmon sing and river jumps to create an image of the impossible occurring to add to the unrealistic attitude of the lover. Impossible events continue to occur when the lover says I ll love you till the ocean /

Enterococci Research Paper The Enteroccocci species are a group of gram positive, round shaped, facultative anaerobic cocci bacteria that are normally present in the human intestines and in the female genital tract. These bacteria can also be found within the environment. They are resistant to several antibiotics, but in the past, physicians could rely on the drug vancomycin to effectively treat enterococcal infections. A couple decades ago doctors and researchers discovered that a new strain was being formed and that some enterococci have become resistant to vancomycin (reference). Vancomycin resistance is acquired when a sensitive Enterococcus acquires a special piece of DNA called a plasmid that permits the bacteriato become resistant to vancomycin hence the term vancomycin resistant enterococci (VRE). The two main species that cause problems are vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium and vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecalis. E.faecium is the most common species of VRE. That wasn t a wise move as Bugsy Siegel was a powerful criminal, but struggled to stay afloat in the legitimate business world. Despite Bugsy s reputation for violence, he was reportedly ripped off repeatedly by construction contractors. They sold him supplies at three times the market price. They also stole his supplies and then sold them right back to him. As a result, there were lengthy construction delays and the budget eventually ballooned to $6 million from the original $1 million budget. Cuba s Fulgencio Batista was a notoriously corrupt dictator, but he valued Lanksy s reputation as an honest casino operator. He begged Lansky to remove the shady operators who had cheated tourists out of their money. Lansky, a protГ©gГ© of Arnold Rothstein, differed from his mentor and several other short sighted crime bosses. Lansky recognized that it was more profitable in the long run to not cheat your clients, thereby avoiding bad publicity. On the other hand, there was plenty of negative publicity in the newspapers surrounding who actually owned the casinos; although, that only added to the appeal for many American tourists. In fact, George Raft, a Hollywood actor whose name was synonymous gangster roles, was hired by one Cuban casino as a host. To sum up, Fidel Castro and many Cubans viewed the casinos as a symbol of American imperialism. Therefore, the casinos were raided immediately during the revolution that took place on December 31, 1958. In fact, Castro s forces captured the Tampa crime boss, Santo Trafficante, in the aftermath of the revolution and Trafficante would likely have been executed if he had not bribed his way out of
  • 40. Act Of 1964 Reflection The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a major achievement in granting equal opportunity for everyone regardless of their differences. This piece of legislation crafted a framework for change and was created with the intent that all human beings be treated with dignity and respect. Unfortunately, legislation cannot force people to change their hearts and attitudes, and 50+ years later, we see this legislation is still regarded and relevant as more and more groups are singled out for their differences. As a Cuban American, I have seen discriminationfirsthand. While I have had it better than some of my peers because I don t possess some of the obvious physical traits that so many people use to label and denigrate Hispanics, I have seen my friends ... This can be both comforting and concerning for a teenage girl. While it is nice to live in a place where everyone knows your name, it does not allow a great deal of room for error. Since my parents are both educators, they have always had a front row seat for who my friends were, what my grades were in my classes, and if I was causing any problems. I used to think this was a real burden to bear, but now that I am older I see that it has taught me some valuable lessons and shaped my personality for the better. It makes me think about my choices and if they are something that I would be proud for everyone to see. It makes me value close friends and people who know my history and where I came from and love me for all of it (or in spite of it!). It makes me understand that all actions have consequences, and I need to be prepared to deal with them with honesty and integrity. Living in a small town is much like being a movie star or a professional athlete. Everyone knows you, and some of them look up to you, so you need to live your life in a way that can be an example for
  • 41. Renaissance Art Change The Renaissance was a time of progression in art. It became a more popular job due to the Medici, and therefore art itself changed and grew throughout the Renaissance. Art became more realistic in the Renaissance due to the development of new paint, linear perspective, and the study of anatomy. To begin with, art changed and became more realistic during the Renaissance. When oil was used in the 15th century it offered greater realism and allowed for finer detail than before. 1 Oil paint made it easier to blend, thus creating a more convincing illusion of depth and realism. Before, tempera paint was used, which dried very quickly, making it difficult to get smooth blending. ...[Another] essential advancement made by Renaissance painters was the use of perspective, or the appearance of distance or depth on a flat surface. ... They showed perspective by enlarging objects closer to the front, using precise shading, drawing lines closer together as they receded, and other skillful methods. 2 Perspective allowed artists to create more realistic work. Anatomy was also improved upon during the Renaissance. Instead of the stiff figures common in art from the Middle Ages, people had energy and fluid movements. Artists also focused on things such as muscles that would help them create figures that looked as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although oil paint was not used, it has the smooth blending that an oil painting has, due to the gouache paint used. It is also a secular painting, meaning it is not religious. The art piece also shows a knowledge of facial anatomy as well as attention to detail, which is something Renaissance artists were well known for. All of these attributes are that of a typical Renaissance painting. Overall, art changed drastically during the Renaissance. With new ideas and different approaches, the Renaissance was a huge influence on art as we know it. Without the Renaissance, art today would not be the
  • 42. Essay On Phonetics And Phonology This paper investigates the contribution of early Arab scholars in general phonetics and phonology and its impact on modern phonetics. It is important to note that phonetics and phonology were not independent disciplines. Rather, they were part of other disciplines. Therefore, in terms of early Arab contribution to phoneticsand phonology, their scholarship can be derived from three major areas: (i) Arabic linguistics whose pioneers are AlkhalД«l Al FarДЃhД«di through his book Al ain, Sibawayh through his book Al KitДЃb, and Ibn Jinni through his book Sir SМҐina at Ali rДЃb. Based on his own statistics, Al Kindi makes a universal conclusion that consonants are more frequent than vowels in all languages. Then, he divides vowels into long and short. Moreover, he establishes more than one hundred phonological rules of euphony and cacophony. Al Kindi has also written another book of applied phonetics (Allathghah (lisping)) in which he tackles speech defects. In the introduction of the book, he gives a detailed description of the speech mechanisms of various languages. Then he discusses the reasons of lisping and the description of places of articulation with an anatomical analysis. Al Kindi is the first Arabic physician who discusses acoustic phonetics, dynamics of air, air stream mechanism, and auditory perception of linguistic and non linguistic sounds (Al Hleis,

  • 44. The Practice Of Paying Bonus The practice of paying bonus in India appears to have originated during First World War when certain textile mills granted 10% of wages as war bonus to their workers in 1917. In certain cases of industrial disputes demand for payment of bonus was also included. In 1950, the Full Bench of the Labour Appellate evolved a formula for determination of bonus. A plea was made to raise that formula in 1959. At the second and third meetings of the Eighteenth Session of Standing Labour Committee (G. O.I.) held in New Delhi in March/April 1960, it was agreed that a Commission be appointed to go into the question of bonus and evolve suitable norms. A Tripartite Commission was set up by the Governmentof India to consider in a comprehensive manner, the question of payment of bonus based on profits to employees employed in establishments and to make recommendations to the Government. The Government of Indiaaccepted the recommendations of the Commission subject to certain modifications.
