Essay Research Topics
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Research Topics" can be both challenging and intriguing.
The difficulty lies in the broad scope of the subject matter. Choosing the right research topics
requires careful consideration of various factors such as relevance, depth, and interest. It's not
merely about selecting any topic but rather finding one that allows for in-depth exploration and
analysis.
Additionally, the challenge extends to the research process itself. Identifying credible sources,
gathering relevant information, and synthesizing the findings into a cohesive argument demand
time and effort. The constant need for critical thinking and analytical skills can make the writing
process complex.
Crafting an essay on this subject also involves striking a balance between providing
comprehensive coverage of the chosen topic and maintaining the essay's focus. The risk of
delving too deeply into specific aspects or, conversely, staying too superficial is a constant
concern for the writer.
Moreover, the essay should not only present information but also offer a unique perspective or
contribute something new to the existing body of knowledge. This requires creativity, originality,
and a deep understanding of the chosen subject matter.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Essay Research Topics" demands a blend of research skills,
critical thinking, and creativity. It is a process that necessitates careful topic selection, thorough
research, and the ability to present a unique perspective. While the challenge is significant, it is
also an opportunity for personal and intellectual growth.

Essay Breast Feeding Is Best
Breast Feeding Is Best Breast feeding not only provides the perfect food and food
delivery system for infants, it is also the most family friendly choice a new mother
can make.
Human breast milk contains at least one hundred ingredients not found in cow s milk
and that cannot be exactly duplicated in commercial formulas (Eisenburg 3). As a
baby grows and changes, breast milk automatically individualizes itself for each infant
. The nutrients in breast milk alter themselves to fit the baby s needs. Breast milk is
more easily digested than cow s milk or formula. The amount of protein in mother s
milk (1.5%) is lower than in cow s milk (3.5%) (Brockport 1), making it gentler on
the infant s stomach. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Breast milk contains one third the mineral salts of cow s milk, thus making it
gentle to the kidneys. There is less phosphorous in breast milk as well. The higher
phosphorus content of cow s milk is linked to a decreased calcium level in the
formula fed infant s blood. Breast fed babies are far less likely to become ill
during the first year than formula fed babies. The transfer of immune factors in
breast milk and in the pre milk substance, colostrum, provides partial protection.
Every time breast fed infants suckle at their mother s breast from the first time to
the last; they are getting a healthy dose of anti bodies to bolster their immunity to
disease (Eisenburg 54). One recent study suggest there may also be a decreased risk
of childhood cancer in breast fed babies (Eisenburg 55 ).
Breast fed babies are well nourished since breast feeding works by supply and
demand. The more the baby nurses the greater the mother s milk production.
Overall, babies that are breast fed have less health problems than babies that are
artificially fed. They have three times fewer ear infections, five times fewer urinary
tract infections, five times fewer serious illnesses and seven times fewer allergies.
Babies who are fed mother s milk exclusively, for at least their first twenty six weeks,
are six times less likely to develop lymphoma (a type of cancer) in childhood, and
babies breast fed for at least one year are only half as likely to develop diabetes
Physics Of Semiconductors Essay
The Physics of Semiconductor Devices The purpose of this paper is to give a
greater understanding of the semiconductor world, for Physics 100 students who have
a little knowledge of electronics. I will cover conductors, insulators, semiconductors,
and the operation of a diode and a transistor. The reason that it is important to
understand these devices is the vast effect that they have had on our modern world.
Our lives are filled by electronics, especially in this computerized age that we live
in, and I have found that a knowledge of some electronics has greatly helped my
understanding of the many electronic devices that we deal with on a daily basis.
To understand the physics of a semiconductor device it is first necessary to ... Show

The outer shell of electrons that orbit the nucleus of an atom is called the valance
shell. This is what makes a copper atom conduct. For a copper atom the number of
electrons is one. When a charge of electricity is placed in the end of a wire the
electrons move into the wire. Since there is only one electron in the valance shell
of a copper atom it can be easily dislodged with a small amount of energy causing it
to jump to the next atom. This will then cause the valance electron of that atom to
jump to the next atom and so forth. This movement happens very fast making it
possible for a large number of electrons to move through the wire. An example of a
conductive atom is shown figure 1.
Now we will move onto other materials that are involved with electronics. The next
group of materials that will be discussed are insulators. An insulator is a material that
does not conduct electricity at all but will resist or stop it from traveling further. An
insulating atom has eight electrons in its valance shell which makes this shell
complete. Eight is the most electrons that any atoms can have in their valance shell
this is why these are called insulators, no more electrons can fit in the valance shell of
these atoms.
We have now discussed the two extremes in electronic materials; a conductor, and an
insulator we will now move to a material that lies in between these two, a
semiconductor. The
Incarceration of African American Males Essay
Introduction
The trend of African American males between the ages of 25 and 29 has seen a
dramatic increase of incarceration. Attention has been focusing on areas of housing,
education, and healthcare but the most prominent problem for African American
males is the increase in the incarceration rate. African Americanmales between the
ages of 25 and 29 incarceration rate has been thought, by many, to be caused by
economic factors such as under employment or unemployment, poor housing, lack of
education, and lack of healthcare. Yet, others believe it is due to the imbalance of
minorities within the criminal justice system, such as judges, lawyers, and lawmakers.
This paper will explore two different outlooks; society has come up with ... Show

Decades of failed public and private remedies for chronic disparities and
disadvantages in communities of color invite us to reexamine systems and
institutions that provide and restrict opportunity in new ways (Lawrence, K., 2011).
The causes seem to be intertwined being poor equals, equals a poor education, equals
lack of employment, and ultimately equals an increased rate of crime.
Consequences
The causes seem to be intertwined being poor, equals lack of education, which equals
lack of employment, which equals increased rate of crime which equals impossibility
to join criminal justice system. Also, many of these men are incarcerated while all
the other non incarcerated American young men are finishing school, starting careers,
earning seniority at work, marrying and having children thus gaining capital. Even
when released from prison, these men return back to their communities with a
felony record that will pose extreme problems for them. The incarceration leads the
released convict into a lower social class even if they were considered lower class
Americans prior to their incarceration; they now are lower in social class standing in
most instances. This leads to a poor African American community, perhaps as many
as 50% of the male population will have been in prison. These incarcerated African

The only legitimate objective of any firm is Maximization...
1. Introduction
Corporate finance theory, teaching and the typically recommended practice at least in
the US are all built on the premise that the primary goal of a corporation should be
the maximization of shareholder value.
(Krishnan, 2009)
One often stumbles upon such statements while reading about shareholders value or
maximization of shareholders wealth. This is also a typical answer to questions
such as what is the best and primary objective of a company in a competitive market
. But should it be the only and most important objective in a firm? Must it be fulfilled
first and foremost, or is there the possibility of generating more wealth for company,
shareholders and stakeholders with other, different approaches? It has ... Show more

4. Creation of Shareholder Valueand protection against threats
To increase and maximize the wealth/value of shareholders, it is necessary that the
company is competitive in their market and can reliably earn a considerable return
on its investments above their cost of capital (Doyle, 2000). The increasing rates of
return of well performing companies attract new investors who invest money to
become shareholders. These outside funds from investors are essential for growth of
businesses and the expansion into new markets. Measurements of generated
shareholder returns over a certain time period deliver the company useful information
on whether their objectives have been achieved or should be new adjusted (Atrill,
2009).
Nevertheless if companies operate in weak markets and fail to create growth and
profit the concept of maximization of shareholder wealth is also an opportunity for
self regulation and security against threats for a company. This approach is in
particular useful for safeguarding against difficulties arising from wrong or
misguided leadership within a corporation. Shareholders of a company have the
strongest interest in a company s success because they often invest a lot of capital in
the business and require revenues for their deposit (Moore, 2002). As a matter of
fact, they become more
Ageing 101 Video Analysis
(1) The theory that best support my current views on aging is the Wear and Tear
Theory. The theory is the idea that changes associated with aging are the result of
chance damage to the body that accumulate over time . (2) As many of us know,
the body is constantly renewing itself. The cells in you is constantly creating new
ones to replace the old, just like a boat. You are constantly restoring all the parts,
where the boat will basically be almost all new parts. I think our body is like a built
boat, car, or even a house, you must keep repairing it. Some people would literally
get a new body part. A blood transfusion, heart replacement and a leg replacement
are some examples of the theory. But just like a used car, boat or house, we stop...

In my own time, I am curious about the aspect of being able to expand your life span.
The one video that caught my attention is the Ageing 101 video. The reason it got me
thinking about aging is because the first fact which is that Most older adults think
their health is good . I would think of the perspective of my own, I would believe
they would believe they are so close to the end that their attitude of their health
would depreciate. Being positive about yourself will bring your feeling of being
invisible to death. That s why the older men and women that live up to over 100
years are still strong. The positive attitude and environment is expanding their life.
I had always told myself I would be happy just to be 50 years old and that s how far
I would love to live. The idea of being able to live longer, maybe to 100 years old
just by basically living life to the fullest through positive reinforcement, brings a
different perspective of longevity. I knew that taking care of our physical self can
help with longevity, but now I know our mentality of aging must be taken care of
just as much as physical. The idea of aging through this course so far has gave me
positive feelings of the normal action of our life expectancy and kept me wonder
about the phycological aspect of growing
Descriptive Essay About Dream

where it was supposed to be a little bit colder. So I stretched and saw something really
off, I was on a Tree above my house! I thought i was dreaming for a second so I tried
looking around the tree and found I was in a bird s nest and i felt very small. Then
I looked at my arms, legs, and the rest of my very unusually small shape. I found
out after a few seconds I was a bird, then I thought this was definitely a dream!
When I looked at my self I knew I was a Blue Jay, which I have seen before in
scouting with my troop when I was little, and human of course.
So I flew and it I felt a tiny breeze while I was flying, and then I saw a ton of pigeons

I got on edge and asked Alec Who are all they? He responded with Oh, That s Ivan,

why are we all birds? Alec said I m not sure but, I know there is a way out of this.
Ivan started to chip at the lock with a piece of metal on the ground hidden in a dark

In America, there are two cultural traditions that have blended together to form the
alloy that is American culture or the American system of knowledge, belief, art,
morals, law, custom... The first cultural tradition, European, is widely thought to have
been the dominant culture in influencing American culture. We think that our

Before the introduction of New World foodstuffs, Europeans subsisted on the few
grains they could grow and the cattle they could produce. For example my Scottish
ancestors , diet varied with what they could produce in their part of Scotland. In the
early sixteenth century, Scotland, as a whole, was abundant with cattle and small
game. Nicander Nucius in 1545 stated that the Scots had so many oxen, and so many
flocks of sheep that wonder arises in the beholders on the account of the multitude of
them , adding that they abound in butter, cheese, and milk (Gibson and Smout 63). As
a result of this abundance, the Scots of this era consumed a diet consisting primarily
animal products being supplemented by the most widely grown local grain: oats.
However, at the end of the sixteenth century, the Scottish government became
concerned about the possibility of problems if the animal population in Scotland were
to be compromised. To prevent the animal population from being compromised, the
government sometimes rationed the amount meat that could be eaten. The Scottish
government also enacted rations on meat consumption when the oat harvest was low.
During the sixteenth century, the people of

Romantic Illusions Of War By Paul Baumer
Even though War is necessary for imperialism to develop and capitalism to
flourish, Paul and his friends voluntarily joined the army only after hearing the
grandstanding patriotic words of their older generation. Not realizing the truth
would cost entire generations of men across nations their lives. Paul Baumer
shares terrifying experiences of himself and fellow soldiers, as they awaken from
the deceptive tales of glory and honor as told by Prof. Kantorek, who ended up
drafted. They enlisted on the ideals of nationalism and patriotism when the truth of
war is an endless supply of physical and mental exhaustion. It is less than glorious
or honorable, to live in the trenches with corpse rats , lice, and dead carcasses as
expressed by the characters. The novel an antiwar statement explores the romantic
illusions of war through brotherly bonds of young nieve men; by forgoing any
instilled nationalistic pride while engaging in a journey of enlightenment via the

reality, these boys lose a piece of their identity each time one of them dies. Painted
as courageous heroes who become loyal to the cause and protective of its necessity

honor in this war, hidden and unrelatable to its participants until it is too late. Hence,

My Trip To Umass Lowell
North Campus is a unique part of UMass Lowell because of the different paths
students can take to go to class. The most popular reason for this is because of the
tunnels that take students underneath the streets to get to certain halls. It is a clever
idea that construction crews built the tunnels for students to get around. On the other
hand, I believe it is only useful for students to stay warm and dry when there is
inclement weather outdoors. Sometimes, I find it more useful traveling around North
Campus on the streets than through the tunnels. The tunnels and the streets are two
different ways of going through this part of the university. Students can locate all of
the buildings and points of interest on North Campus on University Avenue and on
Riverside Drive, which is part of Massachusetts Route 113. Originally, the tunnels
were useful for electricity, heat, water, steam, and other utilities to pass through
every building on the campus. The system ultimately transformed into a common
walkway for UMass Lowell scholars and personnel to travel through, to get to Lydon
Library, Southwick Hall, Cumnock Hall and Ball Hall. UMass Lowell is one of the

The area is open to me because I can travel to buildings and new locations that the
tunnels cannot lead a person. On my first tour of this school last year, I learned that
the tunnels that go underneath North Campus, where I was extemporaneously
taking the tour, connect to every building except for Olsen Hall, which is right
across from the Ball Hall end of the system. I would only appreciate this tunnel
system more if Olsen were to have a tunnel connection, and not detach from all of
the other buildings. However, I am familiar with walking across Riverside Drive to
get there, and even though I have hopes about a tunnel expansion, I can humbly be
able to brave crossing the traffic in all the ways I
The Other America
Latin America has a history of colonization and, therefore, oppression. Latin
American history is similar to that of Africa and the Caribbean; the people all
suffered colonization and were ruled over by European countries. This legacy of
European rule and oppression has left its mark in the literature of Latin America.
Themes of hopelessness and the search for identity are common. Latin American
literature uses tone to establish these themes of self evaluation and hopelessness.
Venezuelan author Arturo Uslar Pietri uses tone to develop the issue of a lack of self
identity. In the story The Other America by Pietri, the tone suggests the narrator is
upset. The narrator elaborates on the issue of the lack of self identification with an
angry tone. He declares, From the very beginning,... Show more content on

In the poem Small Variation by Paz, the speaker lacks self identity. With a serious
tone, the speaker makes a statement about himself: I never know just who I am
(Paz 346). Although from different countries, these authors from similar regions
both express similar themes. Unlike Pietri, however, Paz connects the lack of
identity to hopelessness with a somber tone. The speaker in Small Variation states,
There is nothing I can do (Paz 346). The theme of hopelessness is also seen in the
poem The Street. In this poem, Paz s narrator is being followed by nobody . The
speaker hopelessly searches for his pursuer. The lines, turning and turning among
these corners which lead forever to the street (Paz 342) show that the speaker s
quest to find his follower is hopeless and without resolution. Paz describes the
street with a somber tone to show its dreariness. Paz gives The Street this somber
tone to enhance the speaker s feeling of hopelessness in his search for the follower.
The line, Everything dark and doorless (Paz 342) shows there are no options.

James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues
A common idea of James Baldwin is that he happens to write more significant
essays rather than fictions or dramatic pieces. However, his most common theme of
choice, ones discovery of self identity is elaborately broadcasted and exhibited
greatly in his short story Sonny s Blues . First circulated in the late fifties and then
again in the mid sixties, Sonny s Bluesexplains Baldwin s reasons for his famous
arguments in the arena of Black freedom, while also providing a visual bonding of
his work across multiple genres, with the ways and understandings of the urban Black
community.
The essential and gradual progression of Sonny s Blues symbolizes the measured
adaptation of the narrator s perception of the importance of his younger brother s
approach at life. The progression directs Baldwin s audience to a thoughtful
involvement with the individual by supplying an understanding of the human
intentions of the young people whose situations, under normal circumstances, only
receive recognition by others when being stated to others merely for their
involvement in contributing to the severe statistics of dropout rates, usage of drugs,
and unemployment status. The overall purpose of the story and its correlation with
the theme of Baldwin s work as a whole, is hidden behind his deliberate metaphorical
use of the Blues. The distinctive feature of the Blues is its arrangement of individual
and public significance in a harmonious affair with the past. The Blues singer
Pros And Cons Of Cross-Platform App Development

and developers. Considering the pros and cons of evolving technologies and
analyzing its substantial effect over business performance spawns countless
arguments. With the entry of cross platform app development, a new player has
entered this longstanding debate.
What are Cross Platform Apps?
The apps compatible with individual operating systems are native apps. Whereas,
mobile apps compatible with different operating systems like android, iOS,
Windows and Blackberry OS are called as Cross Platform Apps. Also called as

Entrepreneurs after opting for hybrid mobile development are rewarded with a prime
benefit of building once and getting the app deployed on multiple platforms.
Nevertheless, cross platform apps come with few drawbacks, they do not take high

Startups are using cross platform mobile app development as a tool to penetrate the
market and then replacing it with the native apps. Even you can do so.
When it comes to mobile app development, then it is very much hard for a novice

Why Is Robert Lowell Confessional Poetry
Robert Lowell is a brilliant writer and poet. He is one of the geniuses of his time.
Paul N. Calvert said, The period in which Robert Lowell wrote has been called The
Age of Lowell, a testament to his genius as a poet, and this poet was truly a genius.
Lowell was born on March 1, 1917 and died on September 12, 1977. Throughout his
lifetime, Lowell wrote many poems and even a few books, but he is mostly famous
for his works of poetryand the movement in which he utilized. Lowell is famous for
complying with the form of Confessional Poetry, a literary term which will later be
defined. Some poems demonstrate this movement more than other poems, but most,
if not all, of Lowell s poems contain the ideas of Confessional Poetry. These poems
often... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this poem is one of the most prominent. Temple Cone simply stated that
Skunk Hour is an important example of confessional poetry and this is a true
statement. This poem also has aspects of Lowell s life; more specifically, aspects
of Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). The man in the poem is described as
ill and this depicts Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). Another clue that
points out that this is a Confessional Poem, is found in lines one through three:
Nautilus Island s hermit / heiress still through winter in her Spartan Cottage; / her
sheep still graze above the sea, (Lowell). These lines actually depict where Lowell,
a man who comes from a very old, upper class American family, spent several
summers: Castine, Maine. The setting of this poem alone tells the reader that this
is confessional poetry. The poem is set up in a place Lowell is very familiar with;
this is partly why this poem is considered Confessional. In the poem, the narrator
seems to be struggling in life and is almost depressed and then this skunk appears.
The skunk in the poem provides a counterforce to the devastating effects of the
world at large, and it distracts the speaker from his depression and therefore turn his
focus to survival rather than thriving (Cone). This counterforce or skunk can be seen
in the last two stanzas of the poem. Lowell describes the illness or depression that
the speaker is
Francisco Goy Deaf Man s Villa
Between the years 1820 and 1823, Francisco Goya casted himself away from
society in his farm house outside of Madrid. In this house, also known as Deaf Man s
Villa, Goya painted what is now known as the Black Paintings. One painting stuck out
more than others due to its horrifying depiction of Saturn Devouring His Son. The
name of this paintingwas not given by Goya himself, but rather later after his death.
Goya painted the painting originally with no intent of showcasing it to the public.
The painting was no ordinary painting since it was painted on the walls of Goya s
estate. Today, the painting currently resides in the Museo del Prado in Madrid
where the target audience is anyone who would like to see the magnificently
horrifying piece of work for themselves. Goya s purpose for this painting was to
seek people s attention and stand out, leave a mark or message, and overall question
what that message. Goya is able to successfully fulfill his purpose by using high

dark. He would start painting battles of war that displayed gruesome violence and

career, Goya had a sour and poor look on what was happening around him, which

regarding his behavior and regular feeding intervals which allow for minimal

of a woman in fur, chaos took place in the household. He was soon considered a
burdensome nuisance. He had nothing to contribute to the well being of his family
other than being a pest. Eventually, Gregor s will to live was crushed by the
feelings of self contempt and worthlessness. All hopes of returning to normality were
squashed with every attempt he made to interact. His withdrawal from his family
guided him further and further into retreat and isolation. He emotionally dried up
within his shell and inside the shadows. Though Gregor s change was physical,
Grete transformed in an emotional way. Her relationship with her brother was

Many immigrant families moved to America in hopes of a better life. More
moneymaking opportunities in America made people want to move for a more
comfortable lifestyle. Along with increased population, there was a fast amount of
industrial and agricultural growth. With more workers to make products, industries
grew faster than ever before. There were new technologies that improved daily life.
Big business arose which helped the country gain wealth. The invention of trains
helped transportation of both people and goods and that helped the economy grow.
The United Stateschanged greatly during the industrial revolutionbetween 1820 and
1870 because of inventors and their inventions.
Between 1760 and 1840 a new transition to a new manufacturing process was called
the industrial revolution. This was a time period of a big change in every aspect of
life. The population grew and because of this as did business and the average income.
Many main inventors of the time created new things and without them, life would
look very different today. For example, the light bulb and the sewing machine. It
created easier ways to travel (the train) and new forms of entertainment (the
phonograph). The revolution increased the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Comparing The Nutcracker And The Mouse King
The Nutcracker and the Mouse King is a story that was made by E.T.A Hoffmann
in 1816. First, It was a magical story about a little girl who got a Nutcracker for
Christmas from her godfather. Also, This story has been adapted into various
versions of the Nutcracker, like plays, movies, books, and ballets. The story has many
versions yet the plot stays about the same.

Nutcracker from her godfather for Christmas. Also, some of the antagonists are the
Nutcracker, Mouse king, Fritz, and Clara s godfather. Next, The story starts at Clara s
home and then it transfers to the N.C. kingdom during the dream. The main conflict
in the story is between the Nutcracker and
The Dependence of Our Society on Technology
During the past two decades technology has seen an explosive progression. In this
time we have come from very few people having personal computers, let alone those
that were able to connect to the internet to having the equivalent of multiple of these
machine in our pockets connected to the internet at all times. In today s society many
people opt to use their mobile deviceover a traditional computer and these devices
make it rather appealing and easy to do so. With applications that are built to make
life easier, games to waste a few minutes, movies and music at the touch of a finger
who wouldn t chose this over the alternative! The problem is when we become too
dependent on these devices. Do we really need to be connected twenty four hours a
day? Is this technology restricting our ability to be productive without it? Can the
users succeed in everyday activities like traveling without these devices? This is a
very new topic for argument but one that needs to be thought about and analyzed.
What society must realize is that we are becoming too dependent on these devices
and need to make reasonable concessions or preparations in the case of a failure.
When we take a look at the uses of these devices we will find that they have an
absolute plethora of uses. Smart phones can be used for the original use of making
phones calls, but that is really the simplest use of the device. We can actually use
these devices to replace GPS systems and aid in navigation, play video games,
War Dog Memorial Essay
Dogs have the ability to be adversely trained for militaristic operations, they even
have some characteristics that make them more qualified for a job than a human.
Some of the jobs military dogs are used for are bomb detection, defense, messenger
carriers, scouting for snipers or enemies etc. thus showing the adversity and
importance of dogs. Compared to humans, dogs understanding of war and the
moralities which are attached to war are nonexistent, thus making tasks more easily
accomplishable because of dogs compliance. Even though there are a vast amount
of accomplishments that dogs can easily complete verse humans, simple task that
acquire things such as apposable thumbs can be slightly more important for a
human to accomplish them. The capability to have almost total control over a
being and having the ability to manipulated, this allows for courageous goal to be
accomplished. One of the intended uses of dogs in warfare is to spare a loss of

Factors Influencing The Factor Analysis
Factor analysis According to Maria Eva, the factor analysis is a technique in the
statistics to observe variability in the correlated variables in terms of lowers number
of unobserved variables, which is necessary for factorization (Maria Eva, 2012).
Dehak, Kenn, Dehak, Dumouchel, Ouellet, further stated that, the factor analysisis
useful technique to investigate the relationship between the variables in complex
concepts and the main purpose of the factor analysis is to reduce the number of
variables associated with the measure and to detect the structures of the relationship
between the variables (Dehak, Kenn, Dehak, Dumouchel, Ouellet, 2011) .
The application of factor analysis widely used in social research (Steinfeld, Navon,
Creech, Yakhini, Tsalenko, 2014). The current study employs factor analysis to
reduce the items in the questionnaire for data reduction as per the recommendations
of In addition, the factor analysis is used to construct the factor based on the items
in the scale (Wang Ahmed, 2004). Hence, the factor analysis is used for data
reduction and structuring the variables. Factor analysis has two types as discussed
below, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (Costello Osborne, 2005).
Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) Costello Osborne, (2005) said that, factor analysis
is used to uncover the structure of relatively large set of variables in the data(Costello
Osborne, 2005). EFA identifies the underlying relationship between the
Pros And Cons Of Dynamite
Films
As you go through life, you will meet a lot of people that do not like the same
things that you do. This is a personal preference difference, and it s normal. But
anybody who says that they don t like Napoleon Dynamite is a fucking sociopath
asshole who needs to be put to the sword. These people do not understand humor, and
they are worthless.
Gamboh 2016
Film is my passion. I thoroughly enjoy watching and analyzing movies finding the
pros and cons. In film there are many different pieces that have to go together in
order to make a movie work including: cinematography, the actual image and how it
is displayed; sound, the score, sound effects and overall how clear it is to
understand what actors are saying; the editing, how all the individual clips are put
together; and dialogue and story, what the actors are saying and what the movie is
about. A bad movie probably has done most of these poorly. A good movie may be
lacking in one of these departments. A great movie has all bases covered, however,
there are exceptions on this depending on personal preference. Some movies might
end up being controversial. Some may love it. Same may hate it. But one must still
appreciate a movie for all the hard work and effort that has been poured into it. My
favourite example of a polarizing movie is Jared Hess 2004 movie Napoleon

Magic And Ritual Of The Trobriand Islanders
Magic and ritual are often associated with vengeful gods and bloody sacrifices,
possibly due to their representation in book, movies, and other forms of
entertainment. One might think that they have no power to bring a community
together, other than through fear. However, through the lives of the Trobriand
islanders, well observed by the polish anthropologist and ethnographer BronisЕ‚aw
Malinowski, we see that rituals and customs maintained by a powerful connection to
magicis a mechanism of social order and betterment where a traditional government
does not exist. Magic, therefore, is a power handed to man via tradition to control
his creation and its nature is that of a social force (Malinowski 1922: 397).
Malinowski s study of the Trobriand islanders set the tone for a new method of study
through his solidification of the functionalist perspective. By throwing off the
convention that forms of religion, governments, and economies progress towards a
modern or evolutionarily advanced system, Malinowski was able to demonstrate the
possibility of a different means of social cohesion existing in the modern world.
A notable change with regard to evolutionism is to be found in the functionalist
theory of Malinowski. For him, magic, religion, and science do not represent in any
way a progressive sequence. They coexist in the same social environment and each
provides its own specific contribution (function) towards satisfying individual and
social needs.

Romeo And Juliet And Tybalt s Death
If you stabbed someone in the chest and the person dies doesn t that mean you
killed said person. One Hundred percent of deaths caused by a other person is
called murder. Romeo is the cause of Tybalt s death because Romeo stabbed him,
Romeo did not walk away, and Romeo acted out of pure anger and revenge. One
example that Romeo is the cause of Tybalts death because he stabbed him. Tybalt
straight took a blade to the chest from Romeo. After the death of MercutioRomeo got
into a fight with Tybalt and ended up stabbing him. They was first fighting with
swords but then they both ended up losing them in the fight so they started using
their hands. Tybalt was on the floor while Romeo got up and found a sword and
stabbed him while he was defenseless.
Obstacles In Edith Wharton s Ethan Frome
Throughout your life and possibly school there has been difficult obstacles you
have to get through in order to be a better person, but dealing with obstacles is a
crucial part of being successful in life ( The Psychological Response to Obstacles. ).
Although not only are there obstacles in school but also in love stories. This is the
kind of love Edith Wharton chose to write about in her book Ethan Frome. Where the
characters, Ethan Frome and Mattie Silver, experienced love but were forbidden to
have due the fact that they were each other s in law. The love between Ethan and
Mattie creates the struggle to overcome obstacles. Those obstacles represent small
symbols that stood between them, the small symbols that represented his wife,
Zenobia Frome and forbidden them to do anything of higher power other than
kissing. The story also teaches readers that whatever your goal is there are obstacles

Not only the fact of him being afraid to confess his love but also the small actions
that Mattie would have also made him think otherwise, it was the way she would
talk and the tone of her voice. The small actions she would have towards him would
make him wonder if she loved him back. The fact that he had no right to show his
feelings, and thus provoke the expression of hers, made him attach a fantastic
importance to every change in her look and tone (Wharton) This is what stopped
Ethan from demonstrating his love to Mattie. Perhaps you don t really experience
thoughts when faced with an obstacle. Maybe you immediately experience fear or
shame... Shame urges you to hide (Wharton). The actions Mattie had and Ethan s
thoughts could persuade you to stop pursuing your goal ( Overcoming Obstacles ), is
the kind mindset Ethan had in demonstrating his

Reflection On Patient-Center Care
My resident was an 82 year old female with an admitting diagnoses of contusion of
the left hip, and the inability to ambulate. She was a very sweet woman, and very
alert and orientated. While I was taking her vital signs she informed me that she
wasn t feeling too good. Then she asked me if I was allowed to transfer her into the
recliner because that chair is more comfortable for her. I transferred her into the
recliner and she told me that made her feel a lot better and that she was sorry for
bothering me. I told her that my job is to provide her with basic care and comfort,
and that I am here to focus on her well being.
As I proceeded to walk out of the room her neighbor approached me in motorized
wheelchair, and said to me, she is not allowed in the recliner until after 1:30 . I
politely informed her that I wasn t liable to discuss this matter with her.
I informed the nurse and nursing assistant on duty about what my resident s

The United States Marines Branch Of The Military
Everyone is surely familiar with The Vietnam War, or at least should be and Jack

had plans to further his education by going to college, but that didn t happen being
that he wasn t accepted right off the bat. In that time it was either college or the
military, the military was mandatory if you didn t attend college. So, Mclean made a
decision and chose the United States Marines branch of the military. Here is where
his unexpected story began. Mclean spoke to a recruiter, Sergeant Miller, and enlisted
in the United States Marine Corps. Boot camp on Parris Island was awaiting for
young Mclean, and many others. Eighteen years of age and Mclean was off to
boot camp, where there, his lifestyle and habits would change dramatically. He did
have people that supported his decision, There were two marines who took
particular interest and pride in my pending military service. (pg.25). In result, this

Colonel Henry Aplington II , who was a distant cousin of Mclean s mother.
Additionally, the other marine was Fred Scott, a family friend , both very well
respected men. Jack Mclean s military career would kick start at this time and Parris

Persuasive Essay About Bad Driving
My best friend will likely be the death of me, but I still love her. I have known her
for three years and would trust her with anything, or so I thought. Everything
changed the moment she got her license. Suddenly the need for coffee was
completely eliminated, and all I had to do was ride to school with her. Through
many close encounters and two accidents so far, I have learned the definition of a
terrible driver. Every ride with her is an adventure involving skipped stop signs,
speeding, and near collisions. She is the reason why many adults believe that
teenagers should not their license because of poor driving. The first thing I do when I
get inside her car is buckle my seatbelt and prepare myself for the journey ahead. The
entire time she is behind the wheel, I am on the edge of my seat checking her
speedometer and watching for children and other cars. Subconsciously, my hands
curl around the seat belt and tightly grip it when I notice a sharp turn or speed
bump ahead. I do my best to not make a sound, but I sometimes catch myself
mentioning the turning car ahead. My friend snaps at me and assures me that she
knows what she is doing, but I am not convinced. Only when the car is in park and
my shoes touch solid ground, am I able to breathe normally.
When you are taught to drive, the instructor emphasizes the importance of being
aware of your surroundings and reacting to them. In spite of this being the essence of
driving, my friend is oblivious to everything around
Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Lightships
Lightships are manned seamarks anchored at a specific point of a river, generally
a shallow one. Fixed into place by a mushroom shaped anchor, these small ships
(rarely above 50 tons) would initially use large lanterns affixed atop the main mast.
Their main advantage is that they could be placed in areas where it was impossible
for lighthouses to act as efficient seamarks. Their main disadvantage, especially the
early ones, is that turbulent waters could slightly shift the anchor and thus the ship s
positioning (Talbot 1913, pp. 241 42). In the worst case scenario, the chains could
snap, leaving the ship in a dire position. However, introduced in the early 19th century
were numerous lighting inventions (Clarke 2016, pp. 14, 42) as well as mooring
technologies using iron, which could anchor a vessel 12 to 14 times the tonnage of
the largest lightship (Clarke 2016, pp. 50 56), made them increasingly reliable over
time. Ubiquitous to seafarers, their offshore position meant that lightships were out of
eyesight of the majority of the population, which explains why they went largely
unnoticed, even by most economists and historians including Coase, who studied
lighting services. Yet, lightships featured prominently in the frequently cited 1834
Report from the Select Committee on Lighthouses. In fact, of the 55 lights in
England, 13 were provided by floating lights (House of Commons 1834, p. VI). As
such, lightships were an important contributor to lighting services. What

Pepe Research Paper
For my final art project, I created my own version of the popular meme known as
Pepe. Collecting rare Pepes was a famous trend that took the internet by storm.
Though the trend has died down now, I wanted to make my own version to call my

Pepes ever created. I ve based my Pepe on one of the first ones ever made, created by
artist Matt Furie. If he hadn t created the Pepe, my final art project would have

practically abstract. His art way my inspiration for my project. This is very similar

Why Is Elvis Costello Essay
Elvis Costello a brilliant singer and songwriter came onto the new wave scene in
the late 1970s. When you looked at him he resembled the late great Buddy Holly
who also had nerdy looking spectacles and of course his name reminded one of the

Inborn Talent
He came into this world as Declan Patrick Macmanus on August 25, 1954 in
Paddington, London, England. I say he had inborn talent because his dad was a
successful big band singer and trumpet player. Costello went to Catholic school and

1986 with songs like Don t Let me Be Misunderstood .
Costello followed up this album with Blood and Chocolate and set on a tour that

this album were Uncomplicated and I Want You .
Costello designed the Spinning Songbook which allowed the audience to choose by
luck of the draw, songs from his very vast repertoire.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA)
Substantial increases in health care costs has put significant strains on federal,
state, and household budgets as well. Quality of health care varies widely, even
after controlling for cost, patient preferences, and sources of payment (ATR, 2015).
Many Americans lack health insurance coverage which also put a burden on the
health care system itself, onto the consumers, and the tax payers as well. When the
cost of health care exceeds the level of quality and limits access to care, the option
that exists to bring the two into balance would be in my opinion the Affordable
Care Act (ACA). The ACA was enacted on March 23, 2010. THE ACA was
designed to address the rising costs within the health care setting and to also make

Investigating And Determine Compatible Naturally Based...
The objective of this project is to investigate and determine compatible naturally
based elements that can potentially replace and be integrated into the bone tissue, for
medical purposes. These elements should be similar in characteristic and structure of
the bone tissue, so that they can effectively replace the tissue and help stimulate bone
growth and cellular growth, in order to maintain bone homeostasis. In order to
achieve compatibility, factors such as 3 D polymeric structures within bone
scaffolding, cellular composition and many other aspects should be considered within
all these plausible elements.
After finding potential candidates for replacements of bone tissue, each element will
be organized based on their compatibility and traits that make them suited for
implementation. Based on the comparison of materials, we found that the bamboo
was the most suitable candidate for the implementation based on it s biocompatibility
potential, biodegradability potential and mechanical integrity.

not transferred half of his stock to Carl pursuant to the binding agreement, he would
meet the requirements. To determine whether or not Bob still meets the Sec. 351
control requirement for non recognition treatment, a further look at Section 351 and
Reg. Sec. 1.351 1 will have to be taken to determine whether or not the sale of his
stock to Carl still qualifies Bob s transfer of property for non recognition treatment.
Law
Under Section 351(a), the transfer of property to a corporation is nontaxable only if
the transferors control the corporation immediately after the exchange; control is
defined as being 80% of the corporations voting stock. Reg. Sec. 1.351 1(a) further
outlines the requirements for an 80% control test, but does not mention of provide
any further insight on whether the prearranged binding agreement which had Bob
sell half of his stock to Carl will meet the control requirements. There are 2 factors
listed in Reg. Sec. 1.351 1 that could

Influence of the Ancient Port of Massilia on the contemporary Port of Brisbane
Introduction
The influence of historical aspects of the built environment on contemporary
infrastructure can be recognised throughout the world today. The range of these built
environment aspects that were created and have continued to exist to the present,
indicate the importance of development throughout these times to create modern
technologies. This influence can be seen through design elements such as bridges,
buildings, roads, highways and even recreational spaces in the modern world. A
specific example of this influential development is the Port of Massalia, which existed
in the northwestern part of the Mediterranean Sea (Ancient Worlds LLC, 2013). This
essay will discuss and analyse the use of history in contemporary urban forms with a
strong emphasis on the Port of Massilia in comparison with the Port of Brisbane,
whilst providing evidence on the similarities and differences of these historical and
contemporary designs.
Influence of history
The book Concepts of Urban Design by David Gosling and Barry Maitland has
stated that, History provides a large number of traditional urban forms which have
survived the passage of time and which work to a greater or lesser degree. (Gosling
Maitland, 1984). This statement provides some evidence to show that even
professionals in the planning world recognise and base some urban designs on
traditional urban forms . Examples of this range from
Marketing Activities, Tools And Strategies
Founded less than 2 years ago with a small band of 30 exceptionally talented
young people, the Never Settle motto of the Chinese startup company called
Oneplus popped into the headlines of tech magazines by creating an amazing
flagship killer handset dubbed Oneplus One. Few even heard of its name back
then and now, you will find long queues like that of Apple and Samsung, such that
it had to create an invite system, amping up the demand and a whole new
secondary market of reselling invites. How did it manage to sell over 1 million sets
in just 18 months, with a gross revenue of $300 million (as of 2014) and serving
over 35 countries including whole of Europe with almost no marketingbudget? The
powerhouse behind its galloping growth lies in its effective marketing and risk
control and this essay will discuss the key marketing activities, tools and strategies a
company uses to build its repute, and in this context, as a premium smartphone
manufacturer.
According to AMA (2013), Marketing is defined as the activity, set of institutions,
and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that
have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. It manages conveying
the right item, to the right individuals at the right cost and at the ideal time.
Marketing is the link that connect customers with the organisation as it is the only
department who knows the holistic nature of customers through it activity, such as
market research.
The Accidental Prime Minister By Sanjaya Baru
The Accidental Prime Minister by Sanjaya Baru, published in 2014, is an account
of former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh s two terms in office.
Sanjaya Baru was appointed as Media Adviser to Dr. Manmohan Singh during his
first term in UPA 1 from 2004 to 2009. This book is in the form of a political memoir.
The book s narrative follows a chronological format, painting a picture of Dr. Singh s
terms in UPA 1 and UPA 2.
In the introduction to his book, Baru proclaims that none of his predecessors at the
Prime Minister s office ever wrote a full book on his experiences during his tenure.
Editors as famous as B G Verghese, Kuldip Nayar, H K Dua and Prem Shankar Jha
chose not to do so. As also bureaucrats like G Parthasarathi, ... Show more content on

Manmohan Singh and it is UPA chief Sonia Gandhi and her gaggle of yes men who
are shown up in a poor light. The book does not disparage him in any manner. This
book tries to explain plainly the power equation between Sonia Gandhi and Dr.
Manmohan Singh but does not sensationalize the issue. It only re affirms what the
Indian public knew to be true.
Dr. Manmohan Singh is shown, regrettably, as a helpless, clueless shadow puppet of
Sonia Gandhi who almost arouses our sympathies because of his ineffectiveness in
functioning as the Prime Minister of India. This sad truth was simply being put on
record by the primary witness, ie, Sanjaya Baru, to this political drama.
Baru tell us that Dr Singh was terrified of losing his place in the scheme of things if
he did not kowtow to the High Command, Sonia Gandhi. For Dr. Singh, the Gandhi
family came first, followed by the political party, prime minister s office and, lastly,

The Evolution Of Eclipse 1. 1 )
Eclipse 1.0 is an open source project released on November 7, 2001. Eclipse is an
integrated development environment (IDE) for anything and nothing in particular.
The framework for Eclipse is modular and Scalable, rather than set of tools. It
provided a component based platform that serves the building tools for developers.
EclipseSDK is a proof of concept product. The proof of concept product idea helps
the developers to self host and build new customized versions of Eclipse.
The initial members of the Eclipse consortium were Borland, IBM, Merant, QNX

The extensible architecture is one of the keys to the successful growth of the
Eclipse Ecosystem. Companies or individuals could develop new plugins, and
either releases them as open source or sell them commercially. The Early Eclipse
Architecture had the workbench as the most familiar UI element for users to
perform. The workbench consists of perspectives, views, and editors. Editors are
associated with the file type, so the correct one is launched when a file is opened.
An example of view would be the problems that indicate errors or warning in java
code. Editors and views together form a perspective which presents the tooling to the
user in an organized fashion. The Eclipse workbench is built on the Standard Widget
Toolkit (SWT) and Jface. Widget toolkits are classified as native or emulated.
Unlike other computer languages such as C and C++, the first version of Java came
with a native widget toolkit library called the Abstract Window Toolkit(AWT). AWT
was limited, buggy, and inconsistent. Hence, a native widget toolkit was switched
over to full featured emulated widget toolkit.
A native widget toolkit uses operating system calls to build UI components such as
lists and push buttons. Native widget toolkits are pixel perfect. The widgets look and
feel like their counterparts in other applications on the Desktop. Operating system
vendors continuously change the look and enjoy their changes and add various new
features to
Introduction By Patty Campbell And War Is Kind
War Is...? Introduction by Patty Campbell and War is Kind by Stephen Crane both
show a different attitudes and opinions towards the meaning of war. War is...? Has
many different moods about war, War is Crazy, history, deception,Worse for civilians,
impossible to win, inevitable, unbearable, delusion, male, and linked with religion.
Patty Campbell seems to have a different definition of warand what war is. War is
very crazy and war is history, but war was created for a reason, it was created to
show two Countries differences and their conflicts they have with each other. As a
first step, young people considering the military as an option need to have the
realities of war clearly revealed to them in many different voices so they can make
The Descent into a Digital Culture
The Descent into a Digital Culture In this century our culture is changing rapidly. Just
in the last 30 years alone our scientific understanding, technological achievements,
and fragmentation of values has transformed faster than in the previous 100 years
alone. With our express style culture change, one has to wonder what will be said
about our cultureanother hundred years in the future. What is the one thing that has
defined us as who we are? A section on our slow ascent into socialism may be in
order, or maybe a chapter on our obsession with going green. However, I would
suggest that the first chapter in a humanities book of 2113 on our culture title The
Descent into a Digital Culture .
Our culture is most defined by the digital ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This has led to a culture in which one does not wait for something, but expects to
receive whatever they desire instantly. This did not just translate into knowledge or
things we needed. The average person in the U.S today no longer waits to save up
the needed funds to buy a new flat screen or other new widget. Instead they finance it
or put it on credit. Like their digital life on the internet they expect it instantly. Our
Descent into a Digital Culture of instant gratification has become part of who we are.
How can our digital culture be explained without our sudden need to cease
communication with others. That is unless it involves a smartphone or a twitter
page. The previous generations of the United States use to socialize at social events
and would even go out and visit people that they wanted to talk to. Sometimes they
would actually put their thoughts down a piece of dried would pulp and mail it.
The digital culture that ours has become carries out these tasks in a rather different
fashion. In modern times social events can be defined as a group chat on Facebook.
As far as visiting other human beings, who needs to when there is twitter. Writing
letters has become a very archaic form of communication replaced by email. In our
present culture most believe that the entire social stimulus that one requires can be
found on Facebook or Snap chat. This new found lack of human contact, caused by
the digital culture, has caused
Essay The Ethical Issues of Legalizing Marijuana
Did you know that almost half of the population in the United States belongs in
jail, according to the law on marijuana? It s true. In 2008 Time Magazine reported
that researchers had found more than 42% of people surveyed in the United States
had tried marijuana at least once (Lynch, 2008). So if marijuana use is so common
in the United States, why should it not be legalized? In this paper I will discuss
both the supporting and opposing positions on the legalization of marijuana. I will
also explore the moral and ethical views for legalizing marijuana. Utilitarianism is
the moral doctrine that we should always act to produce the greatest possible balance
of good over bad for everyone affected by our actions (Shaw amp; Barry, 62).... Show

A Time Magazine article reported that a new study found 44,000 U.S. drivers
involved in a fatal single vehicle car crash between 1998 and 2009. Of those
44,000 drivers, 25% tested positive for drug use; the most common drugs being
marijuana, cocaine and amphetamines (Melnick, 2011). This means on average
(between 1998 and 2009) there were approximately 1,000 U.S. drivers that tested
positive for drug use who were involved in single vehicle car crashes. Ethical
relativism says that right and wrong are only a function of what a particular
society takes to be right and wrong (Shaw amp; Barry, 11). Just based off of the
information reported in this paragraph, I would say that alcohol should be a
banned substance before marijuana To explore the economic benefits of marijuana
legalization we must first look at the amount of marijuana that is purchased by
users. The White House Office of National Drug Policy reported that between 1988
and 1995, Americans spent about 7 billion dollars on the illegal substance,
averaging about a billion dollars a year (Prislac, 2009). This means that annually
there is a billion dollars out there that is subject to no sales tax. The national
average for sales tax is 5%, so if you calculate the billion dollars being spent on
marijuana, this means there is approximately 50 million dollars in sales tax that our
government never gets
A Great Mistake Of The Athenians
This was a great mistake of the Athenians, as Thucydides claims, most of them
(Athenians) being ignorant of its (Sicily) size and of the number of its inhabitants,
Hellenic and barbarian, and of the fact that they were undertaking a war not much
inferior to that against the Peloponnesians . So, Athens undervalued Sicilyand
overvalued their (the Athenians) greatness. Nicias tried to warn citizens about the
wealth and strength of the Sicilian states enemies they would have to challenge, and
insisted on a great preparation and investments in the expedition to make it
possible. He also added: Indeed, even if we leave Athens with a force not only equal
to that of the enemy except in the number of heavy infantry in the field, but even at
all points superior to him, we shall still find it difficult to conquer Sicilyor save
ourselves .
The preparation for the expedition began and the departure to Sicily took place. It
worth saying that all Athenians were taking part in preparation, the government and
citizens did their best. Indeed this armament that first sailed out was by far the most
costly and splendid Hellenic force that had ever been sent out by a single city up to
that time .
Alcibiades, one of the generals of the expedition, had a lot of enemies in Athens,
due to his luxury life and desire to get as much fame as possible. So, before the
departure of expedition his enemies tried to do everything to implicate him in
scandals and expose. All in all Alcibiades was
The Shape Of Water Essay
At the 90th Academy Awards, or simply the Oscars, the typical fanfares were
underway as many celebrities graced the red carpet and prepared themselves for an
evening filled with cinema s best films of the year. From Call Me By Your Name s
heartrending reminder of love and loss to Lady Bird s all too familiar coming of
age, there were many amazing movies this year. Yet of all the great contestants for
Best Picture, none surpass Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, a filmabout a
mother angered by the police s inaction to find her daughter s rapist and killer.
Unfortunately, the movie was snubbed of its well deserved Oscar, for the Academy
granted the award to The Shape of Water, a film about a mute woman who falls in
love with an amphibious man.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lest I give spoilers, I would simply like to disclose that the movie merely follows a
basic romantic plot line, providing little effort to deviate from it. The film s plot
progression becomes sluggish between the two major plot points: The Shape of
Water s inability to maintain tension within its rising action makes the film feel, at
times, a bit slow and boring. Even when momentum does redevelop, the plot
becomes predictable and somewhat cheesy. The Shape of Water ends on a
lighthearted note to leave the viewer at ease knowing that love is beyond looks
and that all will be well. It feels good when a movie concludes with such certainty
yet to have a fairytale ending limits a film s ability to linger on in our minds. The
Shape of Water provides but a platitude and lacks any stimulus for discourse. Truly
great movies are the ones which leave the audience introspecting and pondering about
ourselves and the nature of our world; these movies spur discussion and oftentimes
generate confusion and
Buying Behavior of Blog Shoppers
Buying behaviour that occurs in blogs can differ significantly from the buying
behaviour that occurs in other forms of social media. As stated before, blogs can
portray several different forms of marketing that appeal to the consumers. Written
from an unbiased point of view, consumers tend to put more weight into the opinion
of other consumers than they would in other forms of advertisement such as banner
ads or PR statements. The marketingefforts that can be found in blogscan have a huge
impact on a consumer and therefore on the buying process in itself. (Solomon 2011,
137 139.)
What about women s buying behavior in blogs? In order to find out what types of
factors in blogs affect the behaviour of women about buying situations, it is important
to consider both internal influencers and external influencers. The consumers are
unconsciously affected by both every time they make buying decisions, and it is
therefore vital that both are considered when studying the topic.
As shown below in the Figure 2.5 on the next page, the consumer buying process is
influenced by several different factors. The diagram is a modified version of an
image created by Smith and Rupp, portrays what kind of thought process occurs
when buying. The diagram was modified to portray the strategic buying process
from the view point of a young Spanish woman who is using a fashion blog as a
source of information. The original diagram, which considered the effect of social
media on a buyer, was
Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry Important Quotes
Roll of Thunder Hear, Hear My Cry Essay In the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My
Cry, by Mildred D. Taylor, it is shown that the one of the characters T.J. is the most
despicable person in the whole story. To start off, the character T.J. is described as
a person who is very manipulative towards the Logans. For example, when T.J. had
gotten Stacy in trouble by making him cheat on a test. she asked him how he got
them cheat notes. But Stacey wouldn t tell on ole T.J., and you know good and
well old T.J. wasn t bout to say them notes was his (81). It is shown how T.J. had
gotten cheat notes and had given them to Stacey, but Stacey didn t want to be a bad
friend so he didn t say it was T.J. Also, T.J. has demonstrated many times that he will
manipulate people to get what he wants. For this reason, when Stacey had gotten a
brand new jacket from Uncle Hammer, T.J. had taken an interest in it, and had told
Stacey that he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
is a individual that would of ontop of being manipulative and shameless, he is also
disgraceful. He shows in many different times in the story that he is a low, mean
person, that does not care about anyone, but himself. For instance,T.J. once brought
the Simms brothers with him to church to just show them off to the Logans as if to
say that he has found better friends. T.J. had also said that the Simms brothers treat
him like a man , and saying that they would buy him things and treat him better .
Just trying to show off to the Logans that he has found better people than them. It is
also shown in the book that T.J. s father doesn t like him being around the Simms
brothers because he knows they re bad people, but he still insists with hanging out
with them, even when his father has told T.J. that he would kick him out. He say I
stay way from that house one more night, he gonna put me out, and he mean it, too
(245). It has proven that the character T.J. is just a disgraceful person on top of
everything he has
Maslow s Motivation And Personality
According to Robert Frager, editor of the third edition of Maslow s Motivation and
Personality, the theorist Abraham Maslow was born in 1908 in Brooklyn, New
York. He was the first of seven children born to Russian
Jewish immigrants. While Maslow s father was uneducated, he pushed his son
academically and encouraged him to become a lawyer. Maslow began his extensive
education at City College of New York but later told his father that he did not want
to study law. In 1928, after marrying his wife Berta, he transferred to the University of
Wisconsin to st udy psychology under the guidance of Harry Harlow. Two years
later he obtained his Bachelor s degree and having always been an astute student with
a deep passion for learning,
Maslow continued at the University to receive his Master s degree in 1931, and t hen
his
Doctorate in 1934. Maslow described himself (Frager 1970, p. xxxvi) as, ...the little
Jewish boy in the non
Jewish neighborhood...I was isolated and unhappy. I grew up in libraries and among
books, without friends. At the beginning of his college career, Maslow studied
behavior psychology, also called behaviorism. This is a type of psychology based
upon the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Maslow later
became interested in a more humanistic view in psychology wh ich states that the
whole person should be studied along with the uniqueness of that individual
(McLeod, 2007). He believed that the development of human
The Absurdist Idea Of Hope In Pandora s Myth
Pandora s myth includes the first human woman in Greek mythology created by the
gods Hephaestus and Athena as prompted by Zeus. Pandora was delivered to
Prometheus brother as a bride. Zeus gives her a jar filled with various evils as a
wedding present; however, an important condition given by Zeus was that she was
forbidden to open it. Her thoughts were overwhelmed by the possibilities that could
be within the jar. One day, out of curiosity, Pandoraopens the box and releases all
evils into the world. After noticing what she had done, she traps Hope inside of the
jar. The idea of Hope is considered an Absurdist idea as it holds mortals back from
accomplishing positive reality by causing them to focus the positive possibility of
their future... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zeus true plan for keeping including Hope as an evil within the jar is not to leave a
positive thought for mortals to endure as they suffer. Hope is meant to connect
with an absurdist idea of life being meaningless due to it keeping mortals on a
constant search for future satisfaction rather than satisfaction during their current
life. For instance, during the time of the ancient myth, there weren t many
occurrences to incorporate a need of hope for; however, in the modern world, hope
is significant amongst mortals as they feel it is all they have during difficult times
such as the major effects of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Mortals felt that hope was
the only idea that remained after they had lost everything. During a devastating
occurrence such as Hurricane Katrina, hope is appropriate in order for those
affected by the devastation to feel as if they have something positive to expect after
such a tragic event. Some acted on their instinct and appropriate response in order to
make their hopeful future come true by moving away from the disastrous area while
others relied on hope to protect them as they stayed around the same area of the
previous disaster. Their life could slowly become meaningless as they are in constant
fear of the disaster occurring once
Analysis Of Freedom Writers
Freedom Writers, directed by Richard LaGravenese, is a true story about the
legendary class 203 of Woodrow Wilson High School. With the help of first time
teacher Erin Gruwell, who is portrayed through actress Hilary Swank, the class of
misfits and outcasts discover life in a new light, and they learn to join together as
one against the world instead of many ( Freedom Writers ). The touching story
sends the message that anything is achievable if one has the right mindset and
determination for it, no matter one s race or situation. Erin Gruwell has earned a job
teaching English for the first time, and her co workers opinions on the students she
will be teaching are extremely low. The school had applied an integration program a
couple years prior, which caused much disdain among the teaching staff. However,
despite remaining her positive outlook, she realizes she has a lot more to handle
among her students because of their constant violent means and hatred for each other.
The majority of the students are affiliated with gangs and have extremely challenging
lives at home. When a controversial death threatens to tear the class apart, a simple
game with a not so simple message from Ms. Gruwell is able to bring them back
together. Discovering that many of the students shared important situations in
common was the key to getting along with one another. The class also bonds over
their research over the Holocaust, in which they care so much about the topic that
they successfully
Ryme Of The Ancient Mariner Essay
Of all the stories and poems we have read for the second semester my top three
favorite would have to be Ryme of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Coleridge as my
third favorite. Then to follow Ryme would be Ozymandis by Shelley. This would
then conclude with my favorite text of the second quarter being To a Mouseby Robert
Burns. The three poems or stories just listed are my favorite due to the way that
their author was able to reach out and grab his audience by the ear. The authors all
had a beautiful way of capturing the reader s attention and holding it. In Ryme the
audience was able to provided this story that kept the audience waiting because
they didn t know what was up with the old man stopping the young wedding guest
in order to tell him his story. The poem of Ozymandis is able to hold the attention
by providing the reader the question of is nature going to slaughter us all one day.
To a Mouse caught its readers attention by making us question if we get too attached
to the things of today. These stories all hold a place in my heart because they are
pure beauty, with a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author, Robert Burns, remarks that the mouse ran away as its house was
destroyed. The author used this as an explanation as to why mice might be more
evolved than humans The mouse as well as with other animals Have begun to
move away from material objects and have begun to focus on survival instead of
comfort. While some are able to completely give up material objects others are not
willing to because they are too tied into the current world. We as a race need to
become like the animals that are focusing on surviving instead of living in nice
houses, and having nice cars. Robert Burns was addressing a problem that he was
hoping wouldn t exist in the future, unfortunately it only got worse. Our obsession
with technology is going to bring our race to its knees. It might already be too late to

  • 2. Essay Breast Feeding Is Best Breast Feeding Is Best Breast feeding not only provides the perfect food and food delivery system for infants, it is also the most family friendly choice a new mother can make. Human breast milk contains at least one hundred ingredients not found in cow s milk and that cannot be exactly duplicated in commercial formulas (Eisenburg 3). As a baby grows and changes, breast milk automatically individualizes itself for each infant . The nutrients in breast milk alter themselves to fit the baby s needs. Breast milk is more easily digested than cow s milk or formula. The amount of protein in mother s milk (1.5%) is lower than in cow s milk (3.5%) (Brockport 1), making it gentler on the infant s stomach. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Breast milk contains one third the mineral salts of cow s milk, thus making it gentle to the kidneys. There is less phosphorous in breast milk as well. The higher phosphorus content of cow s milk is linked to a decreased calcium level in the formula fed infant s blood. Breast fed babies are far less likely to become ill during the first year than formula fed babies. The transfer of immune factors in breast milk and in the pre milk substance, colostrum, provides partial protection. Every time breast fed infants suckle at their mother s breast from the first time to the last; they are getting a healthy dose of anti bodies to bolster their immunity to disease (Eisenburg 54). One recent study suggest there may also be a decreased risk of childhood cancer in breast fed babies (Eisenburg 55 ). Breast fed babies are well nourished since breast feeding works by supply and demand. The more the baby nurses the greater the mother s milk production. Overall, babies that are breast fed have less health problems than babies that are artificially fed. They have three times fewer ear infections, five times fewer urinary tract infections, five times fewer serious illnesses and seven times fewer allergies. Babies who are fed mother s milk exclusively, for at least their first twenty six weeks, are six times less likely to develop lymphoma (a type of cancer) in childhood, and babies breast fed for at least one year are only half as likely to develop diabetes
  • 3. Physics Of Semiconductors Essay The Physics of Semiconductor Devices The purpose of this paper is to give a greater understanding of the semiconductor world, for Physics 100 students who have a little knowledge of electronics. I will cover conductors, insulators, semiconductors, and the operation of a diode and a transistor. The reason that it is important to understand these devices is the vast effect that they have had on our modern world. Our lives are filled by electronics, especially in this computerized age that we live in, and I have found that a knowledge of some electronics has greatly helped my understanding of the many electronic devices that we deal with on a daily basis. To understand the physics of a semiconductor device it is first necessary to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The outer shell of electrons that orbit the nucleus of an atom is called the valance shell. This is what makes a copper atom conduct. For a copper atom the number of electrons is one. When a charge of electricity is placed in the end of a wire the electrons move into the wire. Since there is only one electron in the valance shell of a copper atom it can be easily dislodged with a small amount of energy causing it to jump to the next atom. This will then cause the valance electron of that atom to jump to the next atom and so forth. This movement happens very fast making it possible for a large number of electrons to move through the wire. An example of a conductive atom is shown figure 1. Now we will move onto other materials that are involved with electronics. The next group of materials that will be discussed are insulators. An insulator is a material that does not conduct electricity at all but will resist or stop it from traveling further. An insulating atom has eight electrons in its valance shell which makes this shell complete. Eight is the most electrons that any atoms can have in their valance shell this is why these are called insulators, no more electrons can fit in the valance shell of these atoms. We have now discussed the two extremes in electronic materials; a conductor, and an insulator we will now move to a material that lies in between these two, a semiconductor. The
  • 4. Incarceration of African American Males Essay Introduction The trend of African American males between the ages of 25 and 29 has seen a dramatic increase of incarceration. Attention has been focusing on areas of housing, education, and healthcare but the most prominent problem for African American males is the increase in the incarceration rate. African Americanmales between the ages of 25 and 29 incarceration rate has been thought, by many, to be caused by economic factors such as under employment or unemployment, poor housing, lack of education, and lack of healthcare. Yet, others believe it is due to the imbalance of minorities within the criminal justice system, such as judges, lawyers, and lawmakers. This paper will explore two different outlooks; society has come up with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Decades of failed public and private remedies for chronic disparities and disadvantages in communities of color invite us to reexamine systems and institutions that provide and restrict opportunity in new ways (Lawrence, K., 2011). The causes seem to be intertwined being poor equals, equals a poor education, equals lack of employment, and ultimately equals an increased rate of crime. Consequences The causes seem to be intertwined being poor, equals lack of education, which equals lack of employment, which equals increased rate of crime which equals impossibility to join criminal justice system. Also, many of these men are incarcerated while all the other non incarcerated American young men are finishing school, starting careers, earning seniority at work, marrying and having children thus gaining capital. Even when released from prison, these men return back to their communities with a felony record that will pose extreme problems for them. The incarceration leads the released convict into a lower social class even if they were considered lower class Americans prior to their incarceration; they now are lower in social class standing in most instances. This leads to a poor African American community, perhaps as many as 50% of the male population will have been in prison. These incarcerated African American Males, who are in their prime of life,
  • 5. The only legitimate objective of any firm is Maximization... 1. Introduction Corporate finance theory, teaching and the typically recommended practice at least in the US are all built on the premise that the primary goal of a corporation should be the maximization of shareholder value. (Krishnan, 2009) One often stumbles upon such statements while reading about shareholders value or maximization of shareholders wealth. This is also a typical answer to questions such as what is the best and primary objective of a company in a competitive market . But should it be the only and most important objective in a firm? Must it be fulfilled first and foremost, or is there the possibility of generating more wealth for company, shareholders and stakeholders with other, different approaches? It has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 4. Creation of Shareholder Valueand protection against threats To increase and maximize the wealth/value of shareholders, it is necessary that the company is competitive in their market and can reliably earn a considerable return on its investments above their cost of capital (Doyle, 2000). The increasing rates of return of well performing companies attract new investors who invest money to become shareholders. These outside funds from investors are essential for growth of businesses and the expansion into new markets. Measurements of generated shareholder returns over a certain time period deliver the company useful information on whether their objectives have been achieved or should be new adjusted (Atrill, 2009). Nevertheless if companies operate in weak markets and fail to create growth and profit the concept of maximization of shareholder wealth is also an opportunity for self regulation and security against threats for a company. This approach is in particular useful for safeguarding against difficulties arising from wrong or misguided leadership within a corporation. Shareholders of a company have the strongest interest in a company s success because they often invest a lot of capital in the business and require revenues for their deposit (Moore, 2002). As a matter of fact, they become more
  • 6. Ageing 101 Video Analysis (1) The theory that best support my current views on aging is the Wear and Tear Theory. The theory is the idea that changes associated with aging are the result of chance damage to the body that accumulate over time . (2) As many of us know, the body is constantly renewing itself. The cells in you is constantly creating new ones to replace the old, just like a boat. You are constantly restoring all the parts, where the boat will basically be almost all new parts. I think our body is like a built boat, car, or even a house, you must keep repairing it. Some people would literally get a new body part. A blood transfusion, heart replacement and a leg replacement are some examples of the theory. But just like a used car, boat or house, we stop... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my own time, I am curious about the aspect of being able to expand your life span. The one video that caught my attention is the Ageing 101 video. The reason it got me thinking about aging is because the first fact which is that Most older adults think their health is good . I would think of the perspective of my own, I would believe they would believe they are so close to the end that their attitude of their health would depreciate. Being positive about yourself will bring your feeling of being invisible to death. That s why the older men and women that live up to over 100 years are still strong. The positive attitude and environment is expanding their life. I had always told myself I would be happy just to be 50 years old and that s how far I would love to live. The idea of being able to live longer, maybe to 100 years old just by basically living life to the fullest through positive reinforcement, brings a different perspective of longevity. I knew that taking care of our physical self can help with longevity, but now I know our mentality of aging must be taken care of just as much as physical. The idea of aging through this course so far has gave me positive feelings of the normal action of our life expectancy and kept me wonder about the phycological aspect of growing

So I stretched and saw something really off, I was on a Tree above my house! I thought i was dreaming for a second so I tried looking around the tree and found I was in a bird s nest and i felt very small. Then I looked at my arms, legs, and the rest of my very unusually small shape. I found out after a few seconds I was a bird, then I thought this was definitely a dream! He responded with Oh, That s Ivan, Phoenix, Kaz, Brian, Jack, and Christian. I was relieved sorta and I asked Wait, why are we all birds? Alec said I m not sure but, I know there is a way out of this. Ivan started to chip at the lock with a piece of metal on the ground hidden in a dark corner, and then we all found things to chip away at the lock on the door of the mini elephant sized bird house. After a few minutes Alec and i found a huge metal bar, but it was too heavy for the both of us. Alec then said Guys come over here, we found some thing big to smash the lock with! For example my Scottish ancestors , diet varied with what they could produce in their part of Scotland. In the early sixteenth century, Scotland, as a whole, was abundant with cattle and small game. Nicander Nucius in 1545 stated that the Scots had so many oxen, and so many flocks of sheep that wonder arises in the beholders on the account of the multitude of them , adding that they abound in butter, cheese, and milk (Gibson and Smout 63). As a result of this abundance, the Scots of this era consumed a diet consisting primarily animal products being supplemented by the most widely grown local grain: oats. However, at the end of the sixteenth century, the Scottish government became concerned about the possibility of problems if the animal population in Scotland were to be compromised. To prevent the animal population from being compromised, the government sometimes rationed the amount meat that could be eaten. The Scottish government also enacted rations on meat consumption when the oat harvest was low. During the sixteenth century, the people of

  • 10. Romantic Illusions Of War By Paul Baumer Even though War is necessary for imperialism to develop and capitalism to flourish, Paul and his friends voluntarily joined the army only after hearing the grandstanding patriotic words of their older generation. Not realizing the truth would cost entire generations of men across nations their lives. Paul Baumer shares terrifying experiences of himself and fellow soldiers, as they awaken from the deceptive tales of glory and honor as told by Prof. Kantorek, who ended up drafted. They enlisted on the ideals of nationalism and patriotism when the truth of war is an endless supply of physical and mental exhaustion. It is less than glorious or honorable, to live in the trenches with corpse rats , lice, and dead carcasses as expressed by the characters. The novel an antiwar statement explores the romantic illusions of war through brotherly bonds of young nieve men; by forgoing any instilled nationalistic pride while engaging in a journey of enlightenment via the terror A romantic notion is how communities see the sacrifices of soldiers, but in reality, these boys lose a piece of their identity each time one of them dies. Painted as courageous heroes who become loyal to the cause and protective of its necessity perish without a second thought to the powers that be. The novel shows a lack of honor in this war, hidden and unrelatable to its participants until it is too late. Hence, the romanticised idealism over the truths of combat as told by Prof. Kantorek, fade as Paul watches
  • 11. My Trip To Umass Lowell North Campus is a unique part of UMass Lowell because of the different paths students can take to go to class. The most popular reason for this is because of the tunnels that take students underneath the streets to get to certain halls. It is a clever idea that construction crews built the tunnels for students to get around. On the other hand, I believe it is only useful for students to stay warm and dry when there is inclement weather outdoors. Sometimes, I find it more useful traveling around North Campus on the streets than through the tunnels. The tunnels and the streets are two different ways of going through this part of the university. Students can locate all of the buildings and points of interest on North Campus on University Avenue and on Riverside Drive, which is part of Massachusetts Route 113. Originally, the tunnels were useful for electricity, heat, water, steam, and other utilities to pass through every building on the campus. The system ultimately transformed into a common walkway for UMass Lowell scholars and personnel to travel through, to get to Lydon Library, Southwick Hall, Cumnock Hall and Ball Hall. On my first tour of this school last year, I learned that the tunnels that go underneath North Campus, where I was extemporaneously taking the tour, connect to every building except for Olsen Hall, which is right across from the Ball Hall end of the system. I would only appreciate this tunnel system more if Olsen were to have a tunnel connection, and not detach from all of the other buildings. However, I am familiar with walking across Riverside Drive to get there, and even though I have hopes about a tunnel expansion, I can humbly be able to brave crossing the traffic in all the ways I
  • 12. The Other America Latin America has a history of colonization and, therefore, oppression. Latin American history is similar to that of Africa and the Caribbean; the people all suffered colonization and were ruled over by European countries. This legacy of European rule and oppression has left its mark in the literature of Latin America. Themes of hopelessness and the search for identity are common. Latin American literature uses tone to establish these themes of self evaluation and hopelessness. Venezuelan author Arturo Uslar Pietri uses tone to develop the issue of a lack of self identity. The speaker hopelessly searches for his pursuer. • 13. James Baldwin s Sonny s Blues A common idea of James Baldwin is that he happens to write more significant essays rather than fictions or dramatic pieces. However, his most common theme of choice, ones discovery of self identity is elaborately broadcasted and exhibited greatly in his short story Sonny s Blues . First circulated in the late fifties and then again in the mid sixties, Sonny s Bluesexplains Baldwin s reasons for his famous arguments in the arena of Black freedom, while also providing a visual bonding of his work across multiple genres, with the ways and understandings of the urban Black community. The essential and gradual progression of Sonny s Blues symbolizes the measured adaptation of the narrator s perception of the importance of his younger brother s approach at life. The progression directs Baldwin s audience to a thoughtful involvement with the individual by supplying an understanding of the human intentions of the young people whose situations, under normal circumstances, only receive recognition by others when being stated to others merely for their involvement in contributing to the severe statistics of dropout rates, usage of drugs, and unemployment status. The overall purpose of the story and its correlation with the theme of Baldwin s work as a whole, is hidden behind his deliberate metaphorical use of the Blues. The distinctive feature of the Blues is its arrangement of individual and public significance in a harmonious affair with the past. The Blues singer

Temple Cone simply stated that Skunk Hour is an important example of confessional poetry and this is a true statement. This poem also has aspects of Lowell s life; more specifically, aspects of Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). The man in the poem is described as ill and this depicts Lowell s personal, psychology life, (Cone). Another clue that points out that this is a Confessional Poem, is found in lines one through three: Nautilus Island s hermit / heiress still through winter in her Spartan Cottage; / her sheep still graze above the sea, (Lowell). These lines actually depict where Lowell, a man who comes from a very old, upper class American family, spent several summers: Castine, Maine. The setting of this poem alone tells the reader that this is confessional poetry. The poem is set up in a place Lowell is very familiar with; this is partly why this poem is considered Confessional. In the poem, the narrator seems to be struggling in life and is almost depressed and then this skunk appears. The skunk in the poem provides a counterforce to the devastating effects of the world at large, and it distracts the speaker from his depression and therefore turn his focus to survival rather than thriving (Cone). This counterforce or skunk can be seen in the last two stanzas of the poem. Lowell describes the illness or depression that the speaker is

In film there are many different pieces that have to go together in order to make a movie work including: cinematography, the actual image and how it is displayed; sound, the score, sound effects and overall how clear it is to understand what actors are saying; the editing, how all the individual clips are put together; and dialogue and story, what the actors are saying and what the movie is about. Magic And Ritual Of The Trobriand Islanders Magic and ritual are often associated with vengeful gods and bloody sacrifices, possibly due to their representation in book, movies, and other forms of entertainment. One might think that they have no power to bring a community together, other than through fear. However, through the lives of the Trobriand islanders, well observed by the polish anthropologist and ethnographer BronisЕ‚aw Malinowski, we see that rituals and customs maintained by a powerful connection to magicis a mechanism of social order and betterment where a traditional government does not exist. Magic, therefore, is a power handed to man via tradition to control his creation and its nature is that of a social force (Malinowski 1922: 397). Malinowski s study of the Trobriand islanders set the tone for a new method of study through his solidification of the functionalist perspective. By throwing off the convention that forms of religion, governments, and economies progress towards a modern or evolutionarily advanced system, Malinowski was able to demonstrate the possibility of a different means of social cohesion existing in the modern world. A notable change with regard to evolutionism is to be found in the functionalist theory of Malinowski. For him, magic, religion, and science do not represent in any way a progressive sequence. They coexist in the same social environment and each provides its own specific contribution (function) towards satisfying individual and social needs. By seeing these

  • 34. Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Lightships Lightships are manned seamarks anchored at a specific point of a river, generally a shallow one. Fixed into place by a mushroom shaped anchor, these small ships (rarely above 50 tons) would initially use large lanterns affixed atop the main mast. Their main advantage is that they could be placed in areas where it was impossible for lighthouses to act as efficient seamarks. Their main disadvantage, especially the early ones, is that turbulent waters could slightly shift the anchor and thus the ship s positioning (Talbot 1913, pp. 241 42). In the worst case scenario, the chains could snap, leaving the ship in a dire position. However, introduced in the early 19th century were numerous lighting inventions (Clarke 2016, pp. 14, 42) as well as mooring technologies using iron, which could anchor a vessel 12 to 14 times the tonnage of the largest lightship (Clarke 2016, pp. 50 56), made them increasingly reliable over time. Ubiquitous to seafarers, their offshore position meant that lightships were out of eyesight of the majority of the population, which explains why they went largely unnoticed, even by most economists and historians including Coase, who studied lighting services. Yet, lightships featured prominently in the frequently cited 1834 Report from the Select Committee on Lighthouses. In fact, of the 55 lights in England, 13 were provided by floating lights (House of Commons 1834, p. VI). As such, lightships were an important contributor to lighting services. What

Though the trend has died down now, I wanted to make my own version to call my own. Since it would be the only one ever created, it would rank among the rarest Pepes ever created. I used the principles of variety, line, shape, contrast and emphasis, and infused them into my project to create something I can describe as magnificent. When you looked at him he resembled the late great Buddy Holly who also had nerdy looking spectacles and of course his name reminded one of the King of Rock and Roll. Therefore it seemed destined that Costello would be a success in the world of music. Inborn Talent He came into this world as Declan Patrick Macmanus on August 25, 1954 in Paddington, London, England. Quality of health care varies widely, even after controlling for cost, patient preferences, and sources of payment (ATR, 2015). Many Americans lack health insurance coverage which also put a burden on the health care system itself, onto the consumers, and the tax payers as well. When the cost of health care exceeds the level of quality and limits access to care, the option that exists to bring the two into balance would be in my opinion the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA was enacted on March 23, 2010. THE ACA was designed to address the rising costs within the health care setting and to also make delivery of medical

The objective of this project is to investigate and determine compatible naturally based elements that can potentially replace and be integrated into the bone tissue, for medical purposes. These elements should be similar in characteristic and structure of the bone tissue, so that they can effectively replace the tissue and help stimulate bone growth and cellular growth, in order to maintain bone homeostasis. In order to achieve compatibility, factors such as 3 D polymeric structures within bone scaffolding, cellular composition and many other aspects should be considered within all these plausible elements. After finding potential candidates for replacements of bone tissue, each element will be organized based on their compatibility and traits that make them suited for implementation. Based on the comparison of materials, we found that the bamboo was the most suitable candidate for the implementation based on it s biocompatibility potential, biodegradability potential and mechanical integrity. Bob then sells half of his Stone stock to Carl, pursuant to a binding agreement between the two of them. We have been asked whether or not this transfer of property for Stone meets the Sec. 351 control requirement for non recognition treatment. Issues To determine whether the transfer of property meets the Sec. 351 control requirements, the requirements under Section 351(a) will have to be met. Had Bob not transferred half of his stock to Carl pursuant to the binding agreement, he would meet the requirements. To determine whether or not Bob still meets the Sec. 351 control requirement for non recognition treatment, a further look at Section 351 and Reg. Influence of the Ancient Port of Massilia on the contemporary Port of Brisbane Introduction The influence of historical aspects of the built environment on contemporary infrastructure can be recognised throughout the world today. The range of these built environment aspects that were created and have continued to exist to the present, indicate the importance of development throughout these times to create modern technologies. This influence can be seen through design elements such as bridges, buildings, roads, highways and even recreational spaces in the modern world. A specific example of this influential development is the Port of Massalia, which existed in the northwestern part of the Mediterranean Sea (Ancient Worlds LLC, 2013). This essay will discuss and analyse the use of history in contemporary urban forms with a strong emphasis on the Port of Massilia in comparison with the Port of Brisbane, whilst providing evidence on the similarities and differences of these historical and contemporary designs. Influence of history The book Concepts of Urban Design by David Gosling and Barry Maitland has stated that, History provides a large number of traditional urban forms which have survived the passage of time and which work to a greater or lesser degree. In 2008 Time Magazine reported that researchers had found more than 42% of people surveyed in the United States had tried marijuana at least once (Lynch, 2008). So if marijuana use is so common in the United States, why should it not be legalized? In this paper I will discuss both the supporting and opposing positions on the legalization of marijuana. I will also explore the moral and ethical views for legalizing marijuana. Utilitarianism is the moral doctrine that we should always act to produce the greatest possible balance of good over bad for everyone affected by our actions (Shaw amp; Barry, 62).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Time Magazine article reported that a new study found 44,000 U.S. drivers involved in a fatal single vehicle car crash between 1998 and 2009. Of those 44,000 drivers, 25% tested positive for drug use; the most common drugs being marijuana, cocaine and amphetamines (Melnick, 2011). This means on average (between 1998 and 2009) there were approximately 1,000 U.S. drivers that tested positive for drug use who were involved in single vehicle car crashes. Ethical relativism says that right and wrong are only a function of what a particular society takes to be right and wrong (Shaw amp; Barry, 11). Just based off of the information reported in this paragraph, I would say that alcohol should be a banned substance before marijuana To explore the economic benefits of marijuana legalization we must first look at the amount of marijuana that is purchased by users. The White House Office of National Drug Policy reported that between 1988 and 1995, Americans spent about 7 billion dollars on the illegal substance, averaging about a billion dollars a year (Prislac, 2009). This means that annually there is a billion dollars out there that is subject to no sales tax. The national average for sales tax is 5%, so if you calculate the billion dollars being spent on marijuana, this means there is approximately 50 million dollars in sales tax that our government never gets

So, Athens undervalued Sicilyand overvalued their (the Athenians) greatness. Nicias tried to warn citizens about the wealth and strength of the Sicilian states enemies they would have to challenge, and insisted on a great preparation and investments in the expedition to make it possible. He also added: Indeed, even if we leave Athens with a force not only equal to that of the enemy except in the number of heavy infantry in the field, but even at all points superior to him, we shall still find it difficult to conquer Sicilyor save ourselves . The preparation for the expedition began and the departure to Sicily took place. It worth saying that all Athenians were taking part in preparation, the government and citizens did their best. Indeed this armament that first sailed out was by far the most costly and splendid Hellenic force that had ever been sent out by a single city up to that time .
