Paracetamol Lab Report
The first step in the extraction of paracetamol was to crush the tablets. If I didn t do this then it
would have been difficult to dissolve them. To weigh them, we had to make sure that we used
the most accurate scales as possible as accuracy could be an issue. The spirit level should be
calibrated so that we can rule out the issue of accuracy. Another problem we could have had in
the practical was the method of filtering. The filter paper could have been too small so the filtrate
could have gotten over the top of the funnel and then we would have had insoluble impurities.
Also when doing this, we had to be careful that none of the filtrate ran down the beaker or we
would have lost some yield. The filter paper could have been poor quality

Antimicrobial Infection Paper
Effective treatment of infections depends on selecting the source, site, complete medical history,
also, conduct a physical assessment to identify the signs and symptoms consistent with the current
infection. Other factors include patient s age, weight, present health condition and the severity of
the infection should be put into consideration (Arcangelo Peterson, 2013). The purpose of this
paper is to describe the categories of antimicrobial agents, also, description of the differences
between viral and bacterial infections will be reviewed. In addition, explain why proper
identification of viral and bacterial infections is the key to selecting the proper antimicrobial agent.
Categories of Antimicrobial agents Treating infections with the right antimicrobial agents helps to
cure and prevent reoccurrence of the infection unless reinfected. The antimicrobial agents works
differently and some considerations are taken when giving these medications. Some of... Show more

They are classified as short, intermediate, and long acting agents. Doxycycline is a long acting and
most commonly used among the group. It can be administered orally or parenterally and its side
effects include; nausea, vomiting, anorexia, and epigastric pain, although hepatotoxicity might
occur from a high dosage but rarely (Arcangelo Peterson, 2013). Sulfonamides are used to treat
streptococcal infections, it can be administer orally and excreted by the kidneys (glomerular

trimethoprim to mention but a few. Sulfonamides are used in combination with other antimicrobial

Negative Effects Of Credit Cards
For the past several decades, physical money has been the most common way for people to pay
for goods and services. However, in the past several years, bills and coins have been replaced by
plastic as more people use credit cards to buy the things they want. Credit cards are convenient, as
they allow to card holder to buy whatever they want without having to carry around a certain
amount of moneythat needs to be predetermined. To add on to this convenience, credit cards have
large spending limits, which allow the card holder to make multiple large purchases, which only
need paid back when the credit cardbill comes later. However, despite how attractive credit cards
may seem, they are overused by and cause huge problems for millions of Americans. Although
credit cards are seen as convenient by many people, they are actually risky tools that can wreak
financial havoc.
One of the major problems with credit cards is that consumers naturally spend more when they
have a card in hand. When studied, psychologists have found that card holders spend more
money when they use a credit card than when they use physical money. Similarly, these studies
have also found that card holders will often pay more than what is required on costs, such as
restaurant tips, when they are using a card. Card holders spend in this larger way because of the
perceived differences between money and credit cards. For instance, when a person spends a large
amount of money, it triggers a reaction in the

Deaf Studies Advantages
The City of a Thousand Fountains
Deaf Studies is the study of Deaf Culture and specifically at California State University of
Northridge (CSUN) the practice and acceptable fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). As
potential Deaf Studies participants, it s important for students to acknowledge and prepare
themselves for several different variations of ASL and other sign languages. Studying abroad
precisely in France is an exceptional opportunity to overcome these obstacles and includes
additional benefits. Therefore, studying abroad is a beneficial opportunity to gain experience,
develop a more appealing resume, discover, and mature in several aspects.
Studying abroad
Studying abroad is a program offered at some colleges/universities to their students, in which a
student has the educational opportunity to live in a foreign country and attend a foreign university.
A student majoring in Deaf Studies can practically go anywhere; however, essentially for a beginner
in both/or ASL and educational travel must start in France. Due to the fact that ASL used in the

The Evacuation At Dunkirk Essay
Do you agree with this interpretation of Dunkirk? In this essay, I am going to explain a painting
of Dunkirk, which was painted by a British painter in 1940. The artist, who painted the picture,
was called Charles Cundall. He was sent by the British government to paint a picture about The
Evacuation at Dunkirk. His main aim for painting this picture was to make Germany look bad
and Britain look good. Therefore he had a reason to paint the picture as he was British himself.
By looking at the picture I predict that he would not have been sitting in the battle field whilst the
war is going of as we would have been exploded to pieces. He could have painted the picture from
what he would have remembered whilst this battle was going on.... Show more content on

The little ships in the picture are accurate as many on the ships would be fleeing from the shore
into open sea water. We can see many bombs in the picture being fired out at sea. This is an
element of reason that is needed to show the public that bombs were used by the Germans to try
and stop the British from escaping. Big boats are also seen fleeing alongside the small boats. We
see the big boat which is leaving the shore, of Dunkirk. There are many in accurate points about
the sea. The big boats are shown too close to the shore. This would be in accurate as when the
big boats were to move they would get stuck due to the sand of the shore. We can see the water at
Dunkirk is very shallow, which would mean that boats would have to be at least miles away
from shore in order for them to move. The artist Charles Cundall painted this on purpose to show
British people, how the Germans stopped boats from being fled out to sea. This again would be
propaganda as it shows British public how bad the Germans really are. The ships out at sea
would at least have been sunk where as in the picture we see only one small ship being sunk. In
reality three or four ship would have been sunk as soldiers were stopped from fleeing. The last
part of the picture I am going to analyse is the sky. Again there are some accurate and in accurate
parts about the sky. Some

Iron Fence Steps
An iron fence or gate is an attractive addition to any property. But in order to keep your fences
and gates looking good, they ll require maintenance. To ensure that your iron gates and fences
always look beautiful, keep these maintenance tips in mind. 1. Take protective measures.
Wrought iron fences can rust when they are exposed to elements such as rain and humidity.
While this is less of a problem in some states like Arizona than in some other climates, it is still
smart to take steps to prevent damage. You can apply a protective coat of wax to your fence to
ward off rust, or simply cover your fencing with a tarp during the occasional rainstorm. If your
wrought iron fence is near a pool, rust is also more likely to develop, so applying a protective
sealant (which can be purchased... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inspect your iron fence regularly. You should regularly inspect your iron gates and fences to
identify any areas in need of repair. Look for signs of rust, loose or unstable footings, cracks, or
other damage. If the fence has been painted, look for chips in the paint. Then, take steps to repair
whatever damage you find. When noticed right away, most wrought iron fence problems can be
easily fixed. 5. Repair rust spots. If a small area of your fence has begun to rust, you can take
steps to minimize the damage. Use a sandpaper or steel wool to remove the rust, then stop the
corrosion by applying wax. Touching up your fence s paint job can also minimize the
appearance of rust. However, if your fence is severely rusted, you may need to call a company
that specializes in repairing wrought iron fences. 6. Fix bent sections. It s possible that an
accident could bend a part of your wrought iron fence. If this happens to your fence, you may be
able to fix it yourself. Use a blowtorch to heat the bent sections of the fence and then hammer them
back into place. As always, use caution when working with tools, and consider calling a
professional fence repair company if the damage is

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Competitive Competition
Competitive markets means strong rivalry amongst firms or companies which are trying to
achieve and outdo each others by increasing their market share, profits and sales by using the
methods of marketing mix which includes prices, products, distributions and promotions. It can
also be described as a spectrum of a purely monopolistic, in which a company is the sole producer
of good and services, this means that a sufficient number of firms or companies are relatively
equal to their sizes, which eventually none of the big competitive companies can influence the
market in any way. The characteristic of fundamental in competitive market is that the existence
of the various number of their buyers and sellers it the market they operate. This will also meant
that the vaster the number of buyers and seller that are presence, the lesser the power of
bargaining that the buyers and sellers will have. Competitive competition demonstrates their
characteristic by having the perfect knowledge that will help minimizing the risk and to limit the

Macbeth Blood Essay
What bloody man is that? in these, the opening words of the play s second scene, King Duncan
asks about a sergeant. The sergeant then tells the story of Macbeth s heroic victories over
Macdonwald and the King of Norway. The sergeant s telling of the story is in itself heroic,
because his loss of blood has made him weak. Thus his blood and his heroism seem to enhance the
picture of Macbethas a hero. As Lady Macbeth plans to kill King Duncan, she calls upon the
spirits of murder to make thick my blood; stop up the access and passage to remorse. Thin blood
was considered wholesome, and it was thought that poison made blood thick. Lady Macbeth wants

Then he calls upon night to come and with thy bloody and invisible hand cancel and tear to

becomes pale with fear or worry because the blood drains away from his face. Macbeth believes
that if Banquo s blood is shed, his own blood will return, and he won t be pale anymore. After he
has become king, Macbeth gives a banquet for his noblemen. The banquet has barely begun
when Macbeth has to go to the door to speak with first murderer. There s blood on thy face, he
says and the murderer proudly tells him its Banquo s blood, and that he left Banquo in a ditch
with twenty trenched gashes on his head, all deadly. A little later, just as Macbeth is talking
about how much he wishes that Banquo were at the banquet, Banquo s Ghost appears. Macbeth

locks are the locks of his hair, covered with clotted blood. After the ghost has gone, Macbeth tells

The Career Future of the Mainland Talents in Hong Kong
Introduction
After 1997, the relationship of Hong Kong and Mainland China is closer than before. Education
freedom make Hong Kong be one of the links, which let the Mainland China communicate with the
world (Tong, 2014). From 1998 to 2013, the number of mainland students who study in Hong Kong
increases of ten times (Hong Kong Chinese University, 2014). After graduated, some mainland
students want to find a good job in Hong Kong. However, they face the rat race with job hunting.
One of the competitors to them is the local student. These local students grow up in Hong Kong.
They accept the international education. They speak Cantonese frequently. They may hold the
family relationship in Hong Kong. However, the mainland students have their own advantages.
Nowadays, Chinese economy is developing quickly. Some companies in Hong Kong, especially
financial company, may need the employee who can speak mandarin frequently and understand the
culture of Mainland China. This research try to explain which is the employer in Hong Kong prefer
to hire, local students or mainland students. In addition, the reason of the employers chose the
employees. From this research, the public can find out what is the most important element the
employers in Hong Kong looking for.

Analysis Of Rocket Boys
The book Rocket Boys is a memoir written by Homer Sonny Hickam, Jr., which is about Sonny s
life in Coalwood, a small mining town in West Virginia. In 1957, Sonny had heard about the launch
of the Russian satellite, Sputnik 1, and became inspired by it so he decided to make an attempt at
building a rocketby himself but when he launched it, it exploded and destroyed his mother s
fence. After seeing the results of his first rocket, Sonny gets his friends Roy Lee. O Dell,
Sherman, and later on, Quentin, and Billy to help and work together with him to build rockets
and to also form the BCMA (Big Creek Missile Agency). Working together, they built Auk 1, their
first real rocket. From 1957 to 1960, the BCMA has had mixed sucess with their rocket building.
Success can often be achieved through and by a good partnership and/or within a group, like how
Sonny was able to suceed in his life through many groups and partnerships.
An important point that can support the thesis is that if you realize and know you cannot
achieve something on your own, it would be best to create a partnership and/or group so it
would be easier for everyone to achieve what they want to. I was forming a rocket club to be
called the Big Creek Missile Agency (BCMA), named in imitation of von Braun s ABMA...We
were going to learn all there was about rockets and start building them. This was to be a serious
thing, not playing (77). This quote from Sonny Hickam in the memoir is simply showing the reader

Real People, Real Cases on Television
Judge Judy has been on air for 18 years now and recently signed a contract extending her show
until at least 2017; The People s Court trails behind having several judges preside on the bench.
The first judge was Judge Wapner (most iconic in the day) with even Judge Judy s husband on the
bench (for a very short time)! The latest presiding judgeis Marilyn Milian. They are loved by many,
but those unfortunate enough to be on the guilty side of a case seeing the wrath of a judge might
not agree. Every day millions of Americans and countless people around the world tune in to The
People s Court or Judge Judyalong with more recent non traditional courts, such as Paternity Court
and Divorce Court. While there are many reasons they are so popular, an important question to ask
is what keeps drawing people back every day to their televisions to watch these shows?
Viewers unfamiliar with the genre might think that they are all the same; however, the
personalities and various style of judging is what makes each stand out from the other. Judge
Judy is known for her no non sense style of rulings, while Judge Marilyn Milian (The People s
Court) is less abrasive yet still assertive in the eyes of the law. We love seeing Judge Judy losing
her temper while embarrassing the defendant or plaintiff who is in the wrong, and making the
guilty parties take responsibility for their actions and (hopefully learn to) make the right choices in
the future. Other viewers enjoy Judge Milian react with

The Problem Of Conflict Mineral
While the term conflict mineral can be used to refer to any mineral resource being exploited by a
belligerent faction in order to perpetuate hostilities, it is most commonly associated with columbite
tantalite, cassiterite, wolframite, and gold ore, collectively known as 3TG minerals.i These ores,
used to produce tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold, respectively, comprise a multi billion dollar
market fueled by the growing demand for electronics and other products related to the technology
industry. The 3TG group is essentially vital in every modern electronic device: phones, computers,
pacemakers, light bulbs, batteries, generators, planes, cars, everything.ii The issue with this
industry is that these minerals are often harvested by a variety of military factions concentrated in
Central Africa, then shipped across the porous border undeclared to Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi,
Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Rwanda, smuggled to Africa s eastern coast, and finally shipped to smelting
factories in Southeast Asia and the Indian sub continent.iii Once the minerals reach the smelting
plant they are melted down with other shipments from around the world and any hope of
identifying whether or not they were used to fund the growing number of human rights violations
occurring in the Democratic Republic of the Congoand throughout Central Africa dissolves. As
though this supply chain was not already complex and spanning over a myriad of legal jurisdictions
each with their own issues, it is estimated

The 2016 presidential election has created much controversy as both parties were viciously

Party was the wanting to pursue was the building of a wall that will border the United States and
Mexico. Although the source of this money is unaware, Trump s plan is make the country of Mexico
to pay for it as it stretches nearly two thousands miles long and has a great expense (Drew).

In fact, Stew Magnuson an author and journalist explains the drastically long period of time that
it will take for a hardship like this The Trump Wall will never be completed as envisioned before
the new president leaves office even if he were to win a second term. In fact, it s a safe bet to
say a nearly 2,000 mile long wall on the U.S. border with Mexico is a pipe dream as the workers
to put on this wall to make it happen in less than 8 years it would cost even more to the budget of
1.2 billion dollars to buy materials for this enormous wall (Magnuson). As President Trump
claims it will take at least a year to accomplish this wall, it is believed that it will take longer than
possible a decade of work (Moller). With the preparation, the workers, and the funding to make
this project set into play, will still take over a decades of work; in fact, it took the Chinese 2,000

the wall, still many disagree on its intentions to fix a not as important problem in society today.

percent support it. Of these respondents, 47 percent are strongly against it. It is worth noting that
76 percent of Trump voters support it, while 91 percent of Hillary Clinton voters don t. But what

consensus (69 percent vs. 27 percent) is against building the wall and even though the

Henry Morton Stanley s The Man With The Yellow Hat
Along with our beloved monkey, the story also follows a man, the Man with the Yellow Hat. For
most children, the man is just someone that brought George from Africa to the zoo but what they

For mainstream beer consumers, particularly in emerging markets, the most common trade up
proposition is to attractive, local, premium brands.
In markets such as North America and Western Europe, premium beer s share of total sales is
already well above the global average. On the other hand, premium s share of 10.1% in Central
and South Africa and 3.0% in Africa shows the significant opportunity that still exists for premium
beer sales in these regions. There is sizeable potential in Colombia and Brazil where premium beers
respectively claim 3.7% and 5.6% of total sales (Karrenbrock, 1990).
The trend towards premium beer consumption has slowed somewhat in the recent economic
downturn; however, down trading is limited and there are notable instances of consumers
continuing to trade up, both into beer and, within the category, into premium products. Over the
past decade, the beer industry has seen significant consolidation and this trend continued during
2008. On a pro forma basis, beer sales by the top 10 players now total approximately 65% of total

Why Do You Break The Prison Rules You Go To Prison
As Alcatraz s billboard says, You break the rules, you go to prison. You break the prison rules,
you go to Alcatraz. Alcatraz was the prison for gangsters, thieves, and trouble makers. This
prison held the baddest of the bad: Al Capone, Frank Morris, and the Anglin Brothers. Al Capone
was known for being a gangster, while Frank Morris and the Anglin Brothers were great at
escaping and had one of the best escape plans known to Alcatraz history. The brothers made a raft
out of life jackets when they tried to escape the prison. The cells were quite small and fairly plain.
B and C block cells were forty five square feet and each cell had a sink, a cot, and a toilet, there
were 336 cells in the B and C block alone. The D block had more spacious cells but the inmates
had twenty four hour confinement. In the D block, the prisoners got one alone visit to the

Frictional Force Lab
The labs was about sliding surfaces and frictional force. The measurements were in Newtons. There
was different sliding surface, table top, waxed paper, paper towel, fine paper and coarse sand paper.
You will have to measure with a spring scale. You will have wood blocks to slide over the five
surface. You will have to do it 3 4 times and average it. The main thing is learned is how the
sliding surfaces creates frictional force.
In 4.1 you will have 5 different surfaces, you will have to slide the block over each surface 4 times
the the spring scale reading newtons. After when you are all you will have to average the number
you got. Like for table top trail 1(.75) trail 2(.75) trail 3( 1) trail 4(,75) add them up and divide by
three 0.81(N). The average for waxed paper was 0.43(N), for paper towel 0.37(N), fine sand paper

the area and keep the weight the same. I said increase because I thought if you add more the
friction will add a tiny bit more. Every area of the block came out to be 2(N). So the friction stay

Wisdom Tradition And The Old Testament Essay
Wisdom Tradition is a term applied to the Old Testament books of Proverbs, Job, Sirach, Wisdom
of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes. Wisdom Tradition books all share characteristics and points of view
that are somewhat different than other biblical books. Wisdom tradition has very prominent
characteristics from other books in the Old Testamentsuch as a search for the goal of life, how to
master it and questioning the problems of life, showing interest to human experiences that affect
all people, joy of creativity and creation, and very little interest in the great acts of divine
salvation. These qualities appear in a few books in the Old Testament. All of them show wisdom,
but only some show both wisdom and tradition. Books such as Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes values
the beauty of creation and the confidence of human life and nature. This was a new concept to
Israel. They learned about wisdom tradition through other nations. They were influenced from
Mesopotamian literature and took their ideas of meditations of sufferings and God s justice into
their Old Testament Books. Suffering can be seen in Job, but in the next essay and upcoming
classes, we will be relating this to women suffering. The wisdom perspectives did not replace the
other two major strands of thought in Ancient Israel, that of prophets and priests. It was simply a
different focus that was complementary with the other perspectives presented in the Bible. Wisdom
Tradition presents many themes and characteristics

The United States As A Christian Nation
Was the United States Founded as a Christian Nation? Have you ever wondered why people in the
American society think any kind of demonstrated behavior is acceptable? The Christian views once
instilled in United States citizens have grown sparse today, in comparison to what they once were.
Opinions of many people have changed concerning multiple issues. Many founding views were
centered on Godly principles as portrayed in the U.S. Constitution, and as well as the Declaration of
Independence. As society continues to argue over the inclusion of religionin politics, members of
society reap the effects in many areas, particularly in the education system. I strongly agree that the
United Stateswas founded as a Christian nation. Religion has been a large part of this country,
starting with the very first people to arrive in America, the Pilgrims. Breaking away from the
Church of England, the Pilgrims settled in what is now known as Massachusetts in 1620, in order
to express religious freedom. They wanted to practice Christian beliefs similar to ones practiced by
earlier Christians. Based on the views of the founding people of America, many would claim this as
support that America was founded as a Christian nation. Fast forward to the late 1700 s, where both
the Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitutionhad been written. These
documents both showed signs of a Christian foundation with multiple references to God. As stated
in the Declaration, [They] hold

In The World Of Accounting, Cost Accounting Serves As...
In the world of accounting, cost accounting serves as managers go to system for cost information.
As previously mentioned, cost accounting is a specialized subset of accounting that collects,
determines, classifies, and interpret the cost of products or services. In addition, the concepts of
cost accounting are to account for the incurrence and control of cost and measure the operating
efficiency of a company on a periodical basis. Cost accounting, as defined here, deals with the rest
when, and if, such measurement helps management drive the organization to work better and cost
less. (Geiger, 1995, pg. ).
Hence, cost accounting provides management with substantial, compelling, and relevant data that

Activity based costing (ABC) Method
While analyzing how companies within the service industry utilize activity based cost (ABC),
Onat, Anitsal, Anitsal, (2014), stated that Activity based costing (ABC) focuses on the idea that
activities create costs, while products use activities to gain value added. (pg. 150). In general, this
means that the theory behind activity based costing (ABC) method is that merchandises or
services consume activities and activities consume resources. When used, activity based costing
first recognizes key activities that create overhead costs. Secondly, the activities that have similar
cost drivers are then categorized into cost pools, and finally allocates the total overhead costs for
products and services by computing absorption rate of each cost pool, respectively. Some issues
associated with activity based costing (ABC) is that it is expensive to implement and data can
easily be misrepresented. One of the critical issue company encounter while utilizing the activity
based costing method is that it is difficult to separate some overhead costs the CEO of the company

Men s Health Magazine Analysis Essay
The target audience for Men s Health magazine has always been perceived as the stereotypical
man s man. The weight lifter, the health nut, or perhaps just the thirty to forty five year old
father of two attempting to fight back the hands of time and look younger just a little bit longer.
This is no longer the case as the social climate has begun to change over the last few years
however, the magazine is beginning to recognize that it s readership is made up of a much more
diverse and not so cookie cutter audience. A very specific example of that can be found inside the
June, 2017 issue of Men s Health magazine displayed in a two full page advertisement for a

associated with a relationship of any type. Proper types of protection for yourself and your
partner are referenced as well as ice breakers to discuss various topics that would be difficult to
address early on in any sexually active relationship. The most impressive message associated
with them is the message at the bottom that reads and talk to a healthcare provider . It seems
only a normal evolution that as social acceptance surrounding couples of every makeup would
lead to a more open and honest discussion about their sexual interactions and how to stay healthy
and active at the same time. We have been observing messages of this type since high school for
the last 30 years, but only geared towards the more conventional ideas about sex and relationships.
It is reasonable to assume that the target audience for this message is the gay community. The
individual models do not appear any different than any other person you might encounter in the
street or the subway or the local supermarket. The scenes are depicted so normally to send a very
important message about how normal a concept it should be to seek medical advice concerning
your health whether you are gay or straight. The body posture and poses are very casual only

The pathway to equality for African Americans was a lengthy and laborious process that required
dedication and hard work. March Book One and Two by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and Nate
Powell describes John Lewis introduction to the inequality and his work during the Civil Rights
Movement. The story is told by Lewis personal accounts and images, which provides an unique
reading for the audience. March: Book One and Two depicts the process of how John Lewis starts
to become aware of the actions against the African Americans and it follows with the protests he

Also indicating accountability is citing the photos the source utilizes. When reading the work, the

My Trip To Mackinaw Island-Personal Narrative
It was last summer around July when my family and I woke up around 7:00 A.M to drive to
Mackinaw Island. Preparing for this trip was extremely hectic because we had to pack all of our
clothes and food that we wanted for the car ride. We were all in the car around 7:45 with all of
our things packed. We locked all the doors up and turn all the lights off. The drive took us about 4
hours to get to St. Ignace. My sisters and I watched a movie during the car ride, read and did
homework so that we were occupied during the long car ride. My favorite part when we were
driving was probably when we went across the Mackinaw Bridge because, it felt like our car was
driving on the bright blue lake which was cool. My mom was frightened to look out the window...

Next, we had to put on a red helmet that had the company s logo and a strap to put around our

The Issue Of The Environment And Globalisation
The past few centuries have seen such a drastic change in the world in terms of human activities
that it has resulted in an enormously significant change in our planet. For a better understanding,
the process which brings all people and communities across the globe come together to experience
a progressively universal economic, social and cultural environment is called globalisation. Thus,
by definition, the process of globalisation affects everybody throughout the world and also has a
significant impact on the environment. As said by James Arvanitakis (Arvanitakis p.166), the issue
of the environment and globalisation is the most pressing issue facing the world today .
Globalisation is thought to be a major cause behind change of climatethat is experienced currently
in the world. However, there are those who support and agree with the notion that climate change
actually poses a global risk and those who do not agree with it. The debate on the extent of climate
change being a global risk, which is called climate change science, is one that is of high interest for
various groups in Australia who either agree with the view or disagree with it for their own reasons
and each one has their own arguments regarding the subject. Global climate change is part of the
larger Anthropocene syndrome of human induced global environmental changes. These include
land degradation, ocean acidification, and disruptions and depletions of the stratospheric ozone

I found this movie interesting because I agree with what the film implied on how the universal
constant about being a patient is vulnerability and loss of control. In the movie Wit, you get to see
another side of the medical profession that shows disregard for medical humanities. The film tells
the story of an intellectual, Vivian Bearing, being diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer, the

Jason finding out that Vivian has died. He immediately calls the resuscitation team and tries

medical doctor is not all about the knowledge of every disease, or the making of a miracle drug.
A doctor should see from different perspectives to truly understand their patients. This film taught
me that saving lives is not merely preventing their hearts from stopping but letting them acquire

Without The Great Migration, or the migration of African Americans from 1915 to 1970 from the

Depression Disorder And Its Causes
Depression Disorder and Its Causes Miami Dade College Depression Disorder and Its Causes A
depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts. It interferes with
daily life, normal functioning, and causes pain for both the person with the disorder and those
who care about him or her. A depressive disorder is not the same as passing blue moon, it is not
a sign of a personal weakness or a condition that can be wished away. People with depressive
illness can get better by pulling themselves together , without treatment, this disorder can get
worse and can last for weeks, months, or even years. (Tsuang MT, Faraone SV. The genetics of
mood disorders. Baltimore, MD: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1990) Everybody has low
moods on occasion. Whether you get a bad grade in school, a lower raise than you expected, a
fight with a loved one, or a death of a beloved pet there are countless reasons why a person will
feel sad or for a while because of something that has happened to him or her. This is often when
people say. I m depressed and others understand what they mean. But as long as the feeling never

This picture best represents rule of thirds because the leaves are not in the middle of the picture,

the cars because parts are hard to obtain. I hope that when the embargo is lifted, Cuba still uses the

Essay On Amadeus
Mozart s music in Amadeus exuberantly reproduces his life with the narrative which
chronologically unfolds the series of episodes related to the life of Mozart. By arranging Mozart
s music in Amadeus in the order of composition with the important episodes of his life, the movie
shows that how Mozart who was once praised as the musical prodigy eventually reaches to the
death at the early age. Mozart s witty and bright music played in the early part of the movie
shows his unique composition style in the period when he received lots of attention and
compliment from all over Europe. For example, in the early part of the film, the song Serenade
No. 10 in B Flat Major Gran Partita K.361 floats out in the scene that Salieri encounters Mozart for

In Amadeus, the prelude of the opera Don Giovanni composed by Mozart after the death of
Leopold Mozart Mozart s father refers the relationship between Mozart and Leopold and the
scheme of Salieri foreshadowing the death of Mozart. For one thing, the opera Don Giovanni
explains the abnormal relationship between Mozart and his father. In the film, Mozart is
illustrated as the character which always feels afraid of the presence of a father. The
dependency of Mozart in Amadeus is based on the real relationship between Mozart and
Leopold. In reality, Leopold worked for the court of Salzburg and had a great ambition for
success when he was young but, after the birth of Mozart, he devoted his life for education
Mozart, having left his reputation and ambition as a musician. (Yu 22) Also, Mozart had never
received formal education and instead he was only educated by his father until he became an
adult. (Lee) Based on researches about Mozart including the two articles mentioned above, in
Amadeus Mozart is portrayed as a child who is dependent on his father but feels a fear of him at
the same time. To illustrate the dependency of Mozart and Leopold s domination over

Weather Conditions On The Flight Service Station
Weather Conditions The accident report stated that the current and former relief pilots obtained
weather briefings by calling the flight service station (FSS) when they had concerns about the
weather (NTSB 911AA Eurocopter, 2014). There is no record of the accident pilot receiving a
weather briefing from the FSS or by accessing the user terminal (NTSB 911AA Eurocopter, 2014).
The sources the pilot used to check the weather prior to the mission are unknown. The current relief
pilot uses the National Weather Service, and AlaskaAviation Weather Unit (AAWU) websites
(NTSB 911AA Eurocopter, 2014). The AAWU displays weather information for pilots,
including area forecasts, meteorological aerodrome reports, and terminal aerodrome forecasts.
The forecasted weather for the search area at the time the pilot was contacted for the mission
showed calm wind, visibility greater than 6 miles, and light showers (NTSB 911AA Eurocopter,
2014). The mission call was received at 2019, the observed weather conditions in Talkeetna at

the same time the radar showed scattered showers in the Palmer, Alaska area moving toward the
Talkeetna area (NTSB 911AA Eurocopter, 2014). Palmer is about 50 miles south/southeast of the

Tacitus Compare And Contrast Essay
The history of the Roman Empire is clearly described by various authors of the time Polybius,
Josephus and Tacitus. The ancient histories of these three authors bring out the ideal morals of
the Romans. This is mostly brought out by describing how the empire was involved in civil war
and how they stood out. Tacitus was well known in his involvement in politics as a senator and
was good in public speaking. He moved to Rome to live with his father a very wealthy person in
the Roman government at the time. Polybius origin was from Greek and was in the army of the
Achaean League. He was an officer in the League and he helped in the fight against the Romans.
However, their army was defeated and thereafter he was held captive and taken to Italy where he
began his writing career (Polybius. and Shuckburgh). Flavius Josephus was a Jew who initially
fought a battle of the Jews against the Romans. This author just like Polybius was also taken as a

Jewish people held in much regard and guarded it but it was brought down. Before the inner part
of the temple was destroyed, Ceaser ordered troops to stop but their hate for the Jews did not stop
them. These people believed that their God would save them during battle but they were still

they were. After destruction of the city, the healthy people were captured and made slaves and
others killed at the end (Josephus). The Roman citizens celebrated their victory against the defeated

Attachment Bond Psychology
What is an attachment bond? An attachment bond is the unique emotional relationship between
your baby and you as his or her primary caretaker (Robinson). Dogs have been seen as to being
the most loyal to their owners since they have a bond that goes back for generations. Before
dogs were kept as pets, they were wolves and it has been confirmed that dogs still actively carry
the wolves traits in all areas that allow them to bond with families. Wolves are known for being
territorial, hunting cooperatively, and becoming emotionally bonded with their owner and when
seeing them after a long period of time are filled with excitement and passion. By being part of the
family, dogs feel the comfort and support as they would in an wolf pack that leads... Show more

Dogs reacted the same way an infant or a chimpanzee would react without their mother and for a
dog was its owner. By doing the experiment on dogs and their owners, experimenters were able to
conclude that dogs were emotionally attached to their owners. Therefore, we can conclude since
the results are of those like infants, babies form an emotional bond with their caretaker which
eventually turns into an attachment bond with their loved one. Babies tend to cry while dogs
scratch the door and whine wanting their loved one or owner. Identifying dog behavior helps us
identify our own abilities and experiences that affect our behavior. We can utilize the test done
upon the dogs to advance the transition of an emotional bond to an attachment bond as the infant
grows. The test however concluded that it was separation anxiety that caused the whining and the
scratching on the door. What about the baby? The information and results that came from the
experiment can help us advance upon the baby and their feelings towards the mother. Dogs tend
to act like people but do they think and act like a human? They have the characteristics of acting
like a human because their owners have instilled their values into their upbringing. Just like an
infant, the early stages are the most important to lay the foundation that will pave the way for the
rest of their lives. As for a dog, the way we treat and teach them, they will act, there is no breed
that is born aggressive, the dog is dependant on the upbringing of the owner. Infants still have the
capability of saying no and not tend to respect their parents as would a

Impact Of Fossil Fuels On Our Planet
THE IMPACT FOSSIL FUELS HAVE ON OUR PLANET
Oil reserves are found all over the world. Some reserves produced more oil than others. Saudi
Arabia, Russia, the United States, Iran, and China are the top oil producing countries (U.S.
Department of Energy, 2013). Petroleum is produced in 31 states throughout the United States
(U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). Texas, Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Oklahoma are the
states that produce the most petroleum (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). It is used to fuel most
cars in the United States, but petroleum is also used to make many more products that we use on a
daily basis (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). A majority of petroleum is turned into an energy
source. Petroleum can be used to make heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and propane, in addition to
making gasoline (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). It can also be turned into petrochemical
feedstock, which is derived from petroleum principally for the manufacturing of chemicals,
synthetic rubber, and plastics (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013). It is used to make many common
household products, such as crayons, dishwashing liquids, deodorant, eyeglasses, tires, and
ammonia (U.S. Department of Energy, 2013).
The United States need for petroleum surpasses the amount it can produce; meaning, a majority of
our oil (roughly 60 percent) must be imported from foreign countries (U.S. Department of Energy,
2013). Canada is the country we import the most oil from, followed by Saudi

The Progressive Thinker Of My Family
Coming from a very conservative background I prefer to think of myself as the progressive thinker
of my family. I grew up going to church every Sunday, attended Christian youth camp during the
summer, and later decided to volunteer in the children s ministry when I got older. I still value and
implement the significant principles I have been taught: including love, compassion, and empathy.
But as I ve grown into adulthood and formed opinions and views of my own, the one thing I feel
that was never stressed enough in church was to accepteveryone as they are. After all, shouldn t
love, compassion and empathy encompass acceptance?
My parents are of different races, my mother being white and my father being black. In a
sizeable and more culturally diverse city I probably would not have been perceived as much
different from other children. However, in the small town of St. Marys, Ohio where I grew up,
my younger brother and I were the only kids in our school with kinky hair and a darker complexion.
Out of the countless times people have pointed out that I looked different, from prior boyfriends
family members whispering in front of me that their son was dating a black girl , to the swastikas
drawn on my locker in high school, I still can clearly remember the very first time I got called the
N word. I was just a young little girl in elementary school and didn t even know what it meant. I
went home and told my mother... A boy at school called me a nigger today . She said it

Long Distance Relationships
Does Long Distance Relationship ever Works? A relationship is said to be a connection, as in
thought, concerning or regarding something or someone. Therefore a long distance relationship
(LDR) is similar to a normal relationship but differs in terms of geographic location of the couple;
such location can range from 100 1000 miles, 100 3000 mile apart etc. Any dating or intimate
relationship with so much distance between both parties is no doubt challenging, but that one of the
things that comes along with LDRs relationships. Obviously each challenge has either a positive or
a negative result. Positives such as increased independence, personal growth, more free time, and

Thirdly, phone sex is the most popular of these alternatives and it is about maintaining the
intimacy and sexuality that couples share (Bean 2). It s also an example of dirty talk, but with
some genital touching. As the name suggests, E sex is sex or sexual oriented emails between
couples as there aim is turn on their partner. Though there is little physical intimacy between
LDR couples, there are means and ways couples can share intimacy, intimacy that is scarce in a
LDR. Everything has its ups and downs so too is LDR as they have some positives and negatives.
Some positives of LDRs is that it enables partners to appreciate each other more, and they don t
take their partner for granted; thus developing a stronger connection through non physical
communication (Mietzner 2). The distance equals more free time, increased independence and
personal growth. Since one have so much free time one can pursue any other dreams or goals that
they could not pursue while they were not geographically separated. LDRs allow both parties to be
independent of each other and not be emotionally dependent on each other as they would be if they
were constantly together. This also strengthens the relationship bond, and increases communication
in the relationship; in addition, communication is made easier by the internet, cell phones, calling
cards, and enhanced postal services. Thus there is hope for LDRs. For LDRs to survive they must

Coping Mechanisms In Drinking Habits By Banana Yoshimoto
Coping mechanisms vary greatly from person to person and are a defining factor in one s life. For
this reason, Banana Yoshimoto provides the theme that it is necessary to find positive coping
mechanisms in every situation to limit the despair one faces; she does this through her
juxtaposition of Yuichi and Mikage and the use of the scene where the two eat dinner together after
Erikos death. Yoshimoto does this through her use of Yuichi and his drinking habits on pages sixty
through sixty three. Yoshimoto opens the scene with Yuichi returning from the store where he
bought food to make dinner with Mikage. When Yuichi returns to the apartment he is carrying a bag
which he lays down with a thud (60), Yuichi then shares to Mikage that he bought... Show more

Mikage accepts assistance from the Tenobis and uses this assistance to progress through her grief
faster and return to normalcy much faster than Yuichi can with his negative coping mechanisms.
This is important because it shows what one should do when put into an unfortunate circumstance.
It also shows that Yoshimoto wants people to behave like this despite it being out of the cultural
norm. Yoshimoto also shows how important it is to talk to people after the death of a loved one as
Mikage immediately accepts assistance from the Tenobis. Yuichi, on the other hand, refuses to call
Mikage for multiple months, only leading him to further

A Brief Note On Compensation And Benefits Plan
GC3 Compensation and Benefits Plan Pay Philosophy As GC3 pushes for a stronger and revitalized
company, Tri State Consulting, LLC recognizes the mission, vision and business strategy should be
the basis for the company s Compensation Strategy. Turning compensation into a driver of business
success is part of knowing your business (Miller, 2011). Alignment with the business strategy is
shown through industry match of compensation in the 50 percentile, which is part of differentiating
services from rivals. Out of the 2,700 staff members, there are eight benchmark roles. These roles
hold the following job titles Barista, HR Manager, HR Assistant/Store Manager, Store Manager,

It is recommended that GC3 use a Total Rewards Program to help supplement their pay structure
and allow employees to be rewarded by more than pay. This strategy is simplistic, yet gives
structure to compensation and it allows for flexibility, if GC3 has an out performing employee.
Compensation Strategy Job Evaluation and Market Comparisons GC3 will endeavor to pay all of
its employees total annual cash compensation at the median (50th Percentile, or middle) of
appropriate national and/or local market rates of pay for similar jobs in similar companies, see
comparison chart from industry survey to GC3 alignment below. If location or individual
performance exceeds expectations and industry standards, higher levels of total annual cash
compensation will be awarded, as well as bonus programs for determined out performing locations.
However, salaries may be adjusted versus industry levels based upon experience, competency and
sustained performance. Total compensation plans and/or a total rewards program define an
organization s strategy to attract, motivate, retain and engage employees. Compensation and
benefits have paved the way for total rewards that encompass not only compensation and
allowances, but also personal and professional growth opportunities and a motivating work
environment (Heneman, 2007). Pay Structure GC3 will use two platforms, or pay structures, for
compensation of employees: First, market pay with bands and,

Ford Motor Company With Insight Into The Organization...
Henry Ford was born in Michigan in 1863 and as a child, he demonstrated a fascination with
mechanical devices (Pittinger, 2009). He acquired employment with the Edison Illuminating
Company and became chief engineer. This provided him the opportunity to lay the foundation for
the Model T motorcar (introduced in 1908) because he accomplished work on the petrol drive
quadricycle prior to establishing the Ford Motor Companyin 1903. During production, Ford saw a
massive turnover rate, which he wished to reduce, therefore, implemented an unprecedented wage
increase. Additionally, he revolutionized the production line process. Consequently, Ford became a
leader throughout the automobile industry. This paper the focus will be on the Ford motor

Essay Juggling
A Princeton researcher, Les Fehme (Brain/Mind Bulletin vol. 8, no. 9. May 1983), suggest we
can optimize our overall performance in life by broadening our focus. Juggling is one excellent
way to do that. He claims most people have a narrow focus, a lack of awareness of their own
body sensations or emotions. This narrow focus can be very absorbing and useful, as when talking
on the telephone, driving a motorcycle or getting a massage. It is as if nothing else exists except
that. When learning how to juggling, the narrow focus can be directed at a certain ball or pin. This
narrow focus agrees with observations that we live in a society which sees things as fragments
rather than holistic. But things are changing. And just maybe, juggling is... Show more content on

Not only that, but according to a test performed at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, lefties
scored higher in creativity than right handers regardless of age. It went on to explain four aspects
of creativity flexibility, fluency, originality and elaboration.
Since the right hemisphere is normally associated with creativity, then any activity which helps to
awaken this suppressed hemisphere is certainly welcome. Enter juggling. Who could argue
juggling does not use both sides of the brain? Both hands are used in juggling, aren t they? If an
accomplished juggler now wants to learn a new trick, once again the focus must become narrow,
the ball or pin must capture the attention (enter left brain activity). Like a beginning new juggler, he
or she must focus on throwing a double flip with the right hand before the left hand can throw a pin
behind the back.
In teaching people to juggle, they learn faster when asked to tell each time they have done
something wrong. At first, they have no awareness of wrong movements. Once they recognize
them, they can eliminate them. Therefore it is essential to practice in order to learn juggling. The
simplest movement requires complex electrical/chemical circuitry within the brain. The study of
this circuitry is fast becoming an important field of neuroscience. Perhaps someday neurosurgeons
will electronically hook up a juggler and a monitor and the neuron action, which travels back and
forth between the two hemispheres

Analysis Of The Movie August Morning
April Morning is a story that describes the process of change in a time when Americans nation
was developing. Due to its importance, Hollywood decided to make the movie based off of it
with same name and theme. The story takes place during the Battle of Lexington on April 19,
1775. Adam Cooper is just 15 years old and lives in Lexington. Adam s decision to sign the muster
book for the militia is one of the key turning points of his sudden change from childhood into
adulthood. Movie has exaggerated some scenes due to dramatic purpose. The movie is more
focused on the summery of the novel. It does have it s own similarities and differences. The
characters were changed and taken off from the movie. I would recommend people to watch the
movie and read the novel. Movie has its more emotional side than the novel. Simultaneously, novel
has more details compared to the movie. Both, the movie and novel were able to depict a great tale
of a child who fought for his country and became a man. Both make us realize how important this
battle was to our history and culture.
First of all, Characters were manipulated by a big margin in the movie. Granny s relation with
Adam was very unlike in movie than the novel. In the movie Granny s role was very silent and
haven t show any significant support towards Adam. On the other hand, Granny was the only
family member that was very close to Adam by any means in the novel. I can t see what s to
disagree with when you have hardly begun (P.21).

The Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2, By Johann Sebastian Bach Essay
Macdonald believes in the individuality of the keys. Moreover, in the history of the keyboard
music, the work developed by Johann Sebastian Bach during the Baroque period entitled, The Well
Tempered Clavier, is harmonically and musically substantial since he uses a pedagogical way to
state the individuality of each key signature; he demonstrates a preference for sharps rather than
flats. He chooses F sharp in both books of preludes and fugue. In the second movement of the
Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2, the Scherzo is written in the key of E flat minor. However, Chopin ends
this movement in the relative keywith a G flat major chord. The key of G flat is closely related to
the Key of B flat minor as the relative key of E flat minor, which is the subdominant of B flat
minor. Musical Analysis and Performance Chopin wrote three piano sonatas: Sonata Op. 4 No.
1 in C minor, Sonata Op. 35 No. 2 in B flat minor, and Sonata Op. 58 No. 3 in B minor. Scholars
agree with the idea that Chopin had a sort of appreciation for minor keys in this type of work.
Also, these sonatas are examples of Chopin s interest in the older tradition of the large forms.
Chopin demonstrated acceptance of the traditional concepts of the sonata form. For instance, he
uses double bars and repeats marks at the close of the exposition. The Sonata Op.35, No. 2 in B
flat minor was composed in 1839 in France but, the third movement of this sonata was composed
and played separately in 1837. This sonata

A Professor Of Psychology At A University
A professor of psychology at a university in a large metropolitan area would be at risk of violating
several codes of ethics if he tells his abnormal psychology class that he is a psychotherapist in
private practice and that they can come to him for therapy during the duration of the semester.
Several problems can occur as a result of the professor s solicitation of his service as a
psychotherapist to his students (5.6, American Psychological Association, 2002). By assuming two
professional roles with his students the professor is clearly engaged in multiple relationships (3.5,
American Psychological Association, 2002). The students are at risk of being exploited by their
professor. The professor has knowledge of his student s deepest thoughts, emotions, and personal
experiences. This personal information can be used to manipulate the student s behavior in a
classroom setting (3.8, American Psychological Association, 2002). If the professor is aware of a
student s fear of public speaking the professor can possibly use this information to punish the
student. The students may also feel that their therapy session influences the outcome of their
psychologyclass. The students may feel that they received a bad grade or a good grade because
of the outcome of their therapy session. This creates pressure for the students to regulate their
therapy session in accordance to what they think will affect their grade in class. This can lead to a
lack of willingness to share

  • 2. Paracetamol Lab Report The first step in the extraction of paracetamol was to crush the tablets. If I didn t do this then it would have been difficult to dissolve them. To weigh them, we had to make sure that we used the most accurate scales as possible as accuracy could be an issue. The spirit level should be calibrated so that we can rule out the issue of accuracy. Another problem we could have had in the practical was the method of filtering. The filter paper could have been too small so the filtrate could have gotten over the top of the funnel and then we would have had insoluble impurities. Also when doing this, we had to be careful that none of the filtrate ran down the beaker or we would have lost some yield. The filter paper could have been poor quality ... • 4. Negative Effects Of Credit Cards For the past several decades, physical money has been the most common way for people to pay for goods and services. However, in the past several years, bills and coins have been replaced by plastic as more people use credit cards to buy the things they want. Credit cards are convenient, as they allow to card holder to buy whatever they want without having to carry around a certain amount of moneythat needs to be predetermined. To add on to this convenience, credit cards have large spending limits, which allow the card holder to make multiple large purchases, which only need paid back when the credit cardbill comes later. However, despite how attractive credit cards may seem, they are overused by and cause huge problems for millions of Americans. Although credit cards are seen as convenient by many people, they are actually risky tools that can wreak financial havoc. One of the major problems with credit cards is that consumers naturally spend more when they have a card in hand. When studied, psychologists have found that card holders spend more money when they use a credit card than when they use physical money. Similarly, these studies have also found that card holders will often pay more than what is required on costs, such as restaurant tips, when they are using a card. Card holders spend in this larger way because of the perceived differences between money and credit cards. For instance, when a person spends a large amount of money, it triggers a reaction in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Evacuation At Dunkirk Essay Do you agree with this interpretation of Dunkirk? In this essay, I am going to explain a painting of Dunkirk, which was painted by a British painter in 1940. The artist, who painted the picture, was called Charles Cundall. He was sent by the British government to paint a picture about The Evacuation at Dunkirk. His main aim for painting this picture was to make Germany look bad and Britain look good. Therefore he had a reason to paint the picture as he was British himself. By looking at the picture I predict that he would not have been sitting in the battle field whilst the war is going of as we would have been exploded to pieces. He could have painted the picture from what he would have remembered whilst this battle was going on.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The little ships in the picture are accurate as many on the ships would be fleeing from the shore into open sea water. We can see many bombs in the picture being fired out at sea. This is an element of reason that is needed to show the public that bombs were used by the Germans to try and stop the British from escaping. Big boats are also seen fleeing alongside the small boats. We see the big boat which is leaving the shore, of Dunkirk. There are many in accurate points about the sea. The big boats are shown too close to the shore. This would be in accurate as when the big boats were to move they would get stuck due to the sand of the shore. We can see the water at Dunkirk is very shallow, which would mean that boats would have to be at least miles away from shore in order for them to move. The artist Charles Cundall painted this on purpose to show British people, how the Germans stopped boats from being fled out to sea. This again would be propaganda as it shows British public how bad the Germans really are. The ships out at sea would at least have been sunk where as in the picture we see only one small ship being sunk. In reality three or four ship would have been sunk as soldiers were stopped from fleeing. The last part of the picture I am going to analyse is the sky. Again there are some accurate and in accurate parts about the sky. Some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wrought iron fences can rust when they are exposed to elements such as rain and humidity. The sergeant then tells the story of Macbeth s heroic victories over Macdonwald and the King of Norway. The sergeant s telling of the story is in itself heroic, because his loss of blood has made him weak. Thus his blood and his heroism seem to enhance the picture of Macbethas a hero. As Lady Macbeth plans to kill King Duncan, she calls upon the spirits of murder to make thick my blood; stop up the access and passage to remorse. Thin blood was considered wholesome, and it was thought that poison made blood thick. Lady Macbeth wants to poison her own soul, so that she can kill without remorse. Macbeth says this is a... Success can often be achieved through and by a good partnership and/or within a group, like how Sonny was able to suceed in his life through many groups and partnerships. An important point that can support the thesis is that if you realize and know you cannot achieve something on your own, it would be best to create a partnership and/or group so it would be easier for everyone to achieve what they want to. I was forming a rocket club to be called the Big Creek Missile Agency (BCMA), named in imitation of von Braun s ABMA...We were going to learn all there was about rockets and start building them. Real People, Real Cases on Television Judge Judy has been on air for 18 years now and recently signed a contract extending her show until at least 2017; The People s Court trails behind having several judges preside on the bench. The first judge was Judge Wapner (most iconic in the day) with even Judge Judy s husband on the bench (for a very short time)! The latest presiding judgeis Marilyn Milian. They are loved by many, but those unfortunate enough to be on the guilty side of a case seeing the wrath of a judge might not agree. Every day millions of Americans and countless people around the world tune in to The People s Court or Judge Judyalong with more recent non traditional courts, such as Paternity Court and Divorce Court. While there are many reasons they are so popular, an important question to ask is what keeps drawing people back every day to their televisions to watch these shows? Viewers unfamiliar with the genre might think that they are all the same; however, the personalities and various style of judging is what makes each stand out from the other. Judge Judy is known for her no non sense style of rulings, while Judge Marilyn Milian (The People s Court) is less abrasive yet still assertive in the eyes of the law. • 15. The Problem Of Conflict Mineral While the term conflict mineral can be used to refer to any mineral resource being exploited by a belligerent faction in order to perpetuate hostilities, it is most commonly associated with columbite tantalite, cassiterite, wolframite, and gold ore, collectively known as 3TG minerals.i These ores, used to produce tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold, respectively, comprise a multi billion dollar market fueled by the growing demand for electronics and other products related to the technology industry. The 3TG group is essentially vital in every modern electronic device: phones, computers, pacemakers, light bulbs, batteries, generators, planes, cars, everything.ii The issue with this industry is that these minerals are often harvested by a variety of military factions concentrated in Central Africa, then shipped across the porous border undeclared to Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Rwanda, smuggled to Africa s eastern coast, and finally shipped to smelting factories in Southeast Asia and the Indian sub continent.iii Once the minerals reach the smelting plant they are melted down with other shipments from around the world and any hope of identifying whether or not they were used to fund the growing number of human rights violations occurring in the Democratic Republic of the Congoand throughout Central Africa dissolves. As though this supply chain was not already complex and spanning over a myriad of legal jurisdictions each with their own issues, it is estimated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In fact, Stew Magnuson an author and journalist explains the drastically long period of time that it will take for a hardship like this The Trump Wall will never be completed as envisioned before the new president leaves office even if he were to win a second term. In fact, it s a safe bet to say a nearly 2,000 mile long wall on the U.S. border with Mexico is a pipe dream as the workers to put on this wall to make it happen in less than 8 years it would cost even more to the budget of 1.2 billion dollars to buy materials for this enormous wall (Magnuson). As President Trump claims it will take at least a year to accomplish this wall, it is believed that it will take longer than possible a decade of work (Moller). With the preparation, the workers, and the funding to make this project set into play, will still take over a decades of work; in fact, it took the Chinese 2,000 years to build the great wall (Griffiths). Although, the executive order is signed for the building of the wall, still many disagree on its intentions to fix a not as important problem in society today. Many do not agree according to a poll by the Washingtonpost that states Washington Post ABC News poll: Sixty percent of adults oppose building a wall along the U.S. Mexico border, while 37 percent support it. Of these respondents, 47 percent are strongly against it. It is worth noting that 76 percent of Trump voters support it, while 91 percent of Hillary Clinton voters don t. For mainstream beer consumers, particularly in emerging markets, the most common trade up proposition is to attractive, local, premium brands. In markets such as North America and Western Europe, premium beer s share of total sales is already well above the global average. On the other hand, premium s share of 10.1% in Central and South Africa and 3.0% in Africa shows the significant opportunity that still exists for premium beer sales in these regions. There is sizeable potential in Colombia and Brazil where premium beers respectively claim 3.7% and 5.6% of total sales (Karrenbrock, 1990). The trend towards premium beer consumption has slowed somewhat in the recent economic downturn; however, down trading is limited and there are notable instances of consumers continuing to trade up, both into beer and, within the category, into premium products. Over the past decade, the beer industry has seen significant consolidation and this trend continued during 2008. On a pro forma basis, beer sales by the top 10 players now total approximately 65% of total global sales compared to less than 40% at the start of the century. • 21. Wisdom Tradition And The Old Testament Essay Wisdom Tradition is a term applied to the Old Testament books of Proverbs, Job, Sirach, Wisdom of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes. Wisdom Tradition books all share characteristics and points of view that are somewhat different than other biblical books. Wisdom tradition has very prominent characteristics from other books in the Old Testamentsuch as a search for the goal of life, how to master it and questioning the problems of life, showing interest to human experiences that affect all people, joy of creativity and creation, and very little interest in the great acts of divine salvation. These qualities appear in a few books in the Old Testament. All of them show wisdom, but only some show both wisdom and tradition. Books such as Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes values the beauty of creation and the confidence of human life and nature. This was a new concept to Israel. They learned about wisdom tradition through other nations. They were influenced from Mesopotamian literature and took their ideas of meditations of sufferings and God s justice into their Old Testament Books. Suffering can be seen in Job, but in the next essay and upcoming classes, we will be relating this to women suffering. The wisdom perspectives did not replace the other two major strands of thought in Ancient Israel, that of prophets and priests. It was simply a different focus that was complementary with the other perspectives presented in the Bible. Wisdom Tradition presents many themes and characteristics ... Have you ever wondered why people in the American society think any kind of demonstrated behavior is acceptable? The Christian views once instilled in United States citizens have grown sparse today, in comparison to what they once were. Opinions of many people have changed concerning multiple issues. Many founding views were centered on Godly principles as portrayed in the U.S. Constitution, and as well as the Declaration of Independence. As society continues to argue over the inclusion of religionin politics, members of society reap the effects in many areas, particularly in the education system. I strongly agree that the United Stateswas founded as a Christian nation. Religion has been a large part of this country, starting with the very first people to arrive in America, the Pilgrims. Breaking away from the Church of England, the Pilgrims settled in what is now known as Massachusetts in 1620, in order to express religious freedom. They wanted to practice Christian beliefs similar to ones practiced by earlier Christians. Based on the views of the founding people of America, many would claim this as support that America was founded as a Christian nation. Fast forward to the late 1700 s, where both the Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitutionhad been written. These documents both showed signs of a Christian foundation with multiple references to God. As stated in the Declaration, [They] hold ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When used, activity based costing first recognizes key activities that create overhead costs. Secondly, the activities that have similar cost drivers are then categorized into cost pools, and finally allocates the total overhead costs for products and services by computing absorption rate of each cost pool, respectively. However, this movement was not concerned as a significant movement. Thus, a second feminism movement had occurred during 1960. This movement unfolded the context of Vietnam War and the women civil right movement in the 1960s, a critical year for women since women started to gain their rightsand powers. Such as the increasing job opportunities, the raising of the work wages and the rising position in society. During the second feminism movement, three organizations had played important roles: Equal Employment Opportunity Commission(EEOC), National Organization for Women (NOW), and Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). The main focus of her thought is the equality between humans. According to Betty Friedan, A woman is handicapped by her sex, and handicaps society, either by slavishly copying the pattern of man s advance in the professions, or by refusing to compete with man at all. • 34. The Issue Of The Environment And Globalisation The past few centuries have seen such a drastic change in the world in terms of human activities that it has resulted in an enormously significant change in our planet. For a better understanding, the process which brings all people and communities across the globe come together to experience a progressively universal economic, social and cultural environment is called globalisation. Thus, by definition, the process of globalisation affects everybody throughout the world and also has a significant impact on the environment. As said by James Arvanitakis (Arvanitakis p.166), the issue of the environment and globalisation is the most pressing issue facing the world today . Globalisation is thought to be a major cause behind change of climatethat is experienced currently in the world. However, there are those who support and agree with the notion that climate change actually poses a global risk and those who do not agree with it. The debate on the extent of climate change being a global risk, which is called climate change science, is one that is of high interest for various groups in Australia who either agree with the view or disagree with it for their own reasons and each one has their own arguments regarding the subject. Global climate change is part of the larger Anthropocene syndrome of human induced global environmental changes. In the movie Wit, you get to see another side of the medical profession that shows disregard for medical humanities. The film tells the story of an intellectual, Vivian Bearing, being diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer, the treatment, and how she is stripped of her personal and professional status in the name of being a patient. The film ended with Jason finding out that Vivian has died. He immediately calls the resuscitation team and tries reviving her because he still sees her has a potential research subject, despite Vivian s decision to have the do not resuscitate . As I reflect on what I ve seen in this movie, I can say that, being a medical doctor is not all about the knowledge of every disease, or the making of a miracle drug. A doctor should see from different perspectives to truly understand their patients. This film taught me that saving lives is not merely preventing their hearts from stopping but letting them acquire the quality of life they need and deserve. Depression Disorder And Its Causes Depression Disorder and Its Causes Miami Dade College Depression Disorder and Its Causes A depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts. It interferes with daily life, normal functioning, and causes pain for both the person with the disorder and those who care about him or her. A depressive disorder is not the same as passing blue moon, it is not a sign of a personal weakness or a condition that can be wished away. People with depressive illness can get better by pulling themselves together , without treatment, this disorder can get worse and can last for weeks, months, or even years. (Tsuang MT, Faraone SV. The genetics of mood disorders. Baltimore, MD: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1990) Everybody has low moods on occasion. Whether you get a bad grade in school, a lower raise than you expected, a fight with a loved one, or a death of a beloved pet there are countless reasons why a person will feel sad or for a while because of something that has happened to him or her. This is often when people say. I m depressed and others understand what they mean. But as long as the feeling never interferes with your ability to function in daily life and goes away within no more than, say, a couple of weeks, it s not medical depression. The term situational depression is sometimes used to describe depression brought on by a significant event in your life. This narrow focus agrees with observations that we live in a society which sees things as fragments rather than holistic. But things are changing. And just maybe, juggling is... Not only that, but according to a test performed at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, lefties scored higher in creativity than right handers regardless of age. It went on to explain four aspects of creativity flexibility, fluency, originality and elaboration. Since the right hemisphere is normally associated with creativity, then any activity which helps to awaken this suppressed hemisphere is certainly welcome. Enter juggling. Who could argue juggling does not use both sides of the brain? Both hands are used in juggling, aren t they? If an accomplished juggler now wants to learn a new trick, once again the focus must become narrow, the ball or pin must capture the attention (enter left brain activity). Like a beginning new juggler, he or she must focus on throwing a double flip with the right hand before the left hand can throw a pin behind the back. In teaching people to juggle, they learn faster when asked to tell each time they have done something wrong. At first, they have no awareness of wrong movements. Once they recognize them, they can eliminate them. Therefore it is essential to practice in order to learn juggling. The simplest movement requires complex electrical/chemical circuitry within the brain. The study of this circuitry is fast becoming an important field of neuroscience. Perhaps someday neurosurgeons will electronically hook up a juggler and a monitor and the neuron action, which travels back and forth between the two hemispheres ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Analysis Of The Movie August Morning April Morning is a story that describes the process of change in a time when Americans nation was developing. Due to its importance, Hollywood decided to make the movie based off of it with same name and theme. The story takes place during the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775. Adam Cooper is just 15 years old and lives in Lexington. Adam s decision to sign the muster book for the militia is one of the key turning points of his sudden change from childhood into adulthood. Movie has exaggerated some scenes due to dramatic purpose. The movie is more focused on the summery of the novel. It does have it s own similarities and differences. The characters were changed and taken off from the movie. I would recommend people to watch the movie and read the novel. Movie has its more emotional side than the novel. Simultaneously, novel has more details compared to the movie. Both, the movie and novel were able to depict a great tale of a child who fought for his country and became a man. Both make us realize how important this battle was to our history and culture. First of all, Characters were manipulated by a big margin in the movie. Granny s relation with Adam was very unlike in movie than the novel. In the movie Granny s role was very silent and haven t show any significant support towards Adam. On the other hand, Granny was the only family member that was very close to Adam by any means in the novel. I can t see what s to disagree with when you have hardly begun (P.21). ... • 55. The Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2, By Johann Sebastian Bach Essay Macdonald believes in the individuality of the keys. Moreover, in the history of the keyboard music, the work developed by Johann Sebastian Bach during the Baroque period entitled, The Well Tempered Clavier, is harmonically and musically substantial since he uses a pedagogical way to state the individuality of each key signature; he demonstrates a preference for sharps rather than flats. He chooses F sharp in both books of preludes and fugue. In the second movement of the Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2, the Scherzo is written in the key of E flat minor. However, Chopin ends this movement in the relative keywith a G flat major chord. The key of G flat is closely related to the Key of B flat minor as the relative key of E flat minor, which is the subdominant of B flat minor. Musical Analysis and Performance Chopin wrote three piano sonatas: Sonata Op. 4 No. 1 in C minor, Sonata Op. 35 No. 2 in B flat minor, and Sonata Op. 58 No. 3 in B minor. Scholars agree with the idea that Chopin had a sort of appreciation for minor keys in this type of work. Also, these sonatas are examples of Chopin s interest in the older tradition of the large forms. Chopin demonstrated acceptance of the traditional concepts of the sonata form. For instance, he uses double bars and repeats marks at the close of the exposition. The Sonata Op.35, No. 2 in B flat minor was composed in 1839 in France but, the third movement of this sonata was composed and played separately in 1837. This sonata ... • 56. A Professor Of Psychology At A University A professor of psychology at a university in a large metropolitan area would be at risk of violating several codes of ethics if he tells his abnormal psychology class that he is a psychotherapist in private practice and that they can come to him for therapy during the duration of the semester. Several problems can occur as a result of the professor s solicitation of his service as a psychotherapist to his students (5.6, American Psychological Association, 2002). By assuming two professional roles with his students the professor is clearly engaged in multiple relationships (3.5, American Psychological Association, 2002). The students are at risk of being exploited by their professor. The professor has knowledge of his student s deepest thoughts, emotions, and personal experiences. This personal information can be used to manipulate the student s behavior in a classroom setting (3.8, American Psychological Association, 2002). If the professor is aware of a student s fear of public speaking the professor can possibly use this information to punish the student. The students may also feel that their therapy session influences the outcome of their psychologyclass. The students may feel that they received a bad grade or a good grade because of the outcome of their therapy session. This creates pressure for the students to regulate their therapy session in accordance to what they think will affect their grade in class. This can lead to a lack of willingness to share ...
