The main subject of this hospitality research project is entrepreneurship. This subject was chosen
for several reasons: both the authors would like to set up a business in future, they have the
ambition to have a company of their own, they like to manage, and use creativity to come up with

Telomerase extends the telomeres of the chromosomes, and it is important during the development
period. Although, telomerase activates in 90% of tumors. The function of the enzyme telomerase
is when the enzyme extends the telomeres of the chromosomes. The enzyme is making the DNA
using RNA as a template (Telomeres and Telomerase). The binding of the enzyme goes to a special
RNAmolecule to contain a sequencing which is complementary to the telomere repeat. It then
extends an overhanging strand of the telomere DNAusing the complementary RNA as a template.

towards society. He is no longer merely frustrated, but enraged by the unmoved society in which
he lives. In the remaining five lines of the poem the speaker alters his discourse from his disgust
towards society, to providing a resolution, albeit an impossible resolution to this crisis. Rather than

With great power comes great responsibility. Although he would appear to replay Who cares? to
this, Hamlet, one of literature s most famous and powerful users of wit is actually using his wit to
further his ambitious cause. Through the use of Hamlet s wordplay, Shakespeare reveals the true
nature of Hamlet s inner self as well as his relationships with the other characters within the play.
Hamlet s diction reflects his relationship with the person he is speaking to when he uses
wordplay. For example, he tells Claudius that he is A little more than kin but less than kind.
(1,2,65) Translated, this is a play on words as he is refuting Claudius s previous statement about
Hamlet being his son. The definedly hostile relationship Hamlet has towards Claudius is easily
seen through his wordplay, but the meaning is taken simply at face value by the rest of the
characters who are clueless to Hamlet s true intentions. This idea is stressed in Hamlet s follow up
statement that his too much in the sun (1,2,67), another pun that shows his hostility to Claudius.
This idea of Hamlet s connection between the Sun and Claudius is seen again in his encounter
with Polonius when he says, For if the sun breed maggots in dead dog, being a good kissing

Does the soul exist? If so, what is the soul? Moreover, what is its function in daily life? For
millennia, schools of philosophy have investigated these questions and attempted to answer them
by devising complex philosophies, which were in some cases completely alien to our modern
ideas. In this essay, I will discuss the Egyptian, Taoist, and Aristotelian views on the souls function
and composition during life. Then, I will compare these philosophies and discuss which aspects of
each philosophy I find the most plausible from a realist s point of view. Concerning the composition
and function of the soul, I argue that the Aristotelian and Taoist philosophies are equally plausible,
but that the Egyptian philosophy also had plausible aspects. Ultimately, however, it is difficult to
determine which theory the most plausible (from a realist s perspective) without tackling the bigger
question does the soul exist?
The ancient Egyptians were soul dualists, meaning that they believed that a person had two or
more souls (in this case nine).1 In Egypt, one of the main purposes of the nine souls was to help
the deceased reach the afterlife. 2 In fact, the Egyptians believed that some souls only existed after

When I began pursuing my MFA in writing, I knew what I wanted my thesis to be, I just needed
some guidance in order to get there. I had completed my first novel, Seeking Signs, which
weaves a narrative around an Iowa crime in 1913 and won the Midwest Book Award for
historical fiction from the Midwest Independent Publishers Association in 2013. The research and
writing that went into it caused me to fall in love with the process and look for another challenge,
one even more complex than the first. Through my MFA pursuits, I wanted to hone my research
skills, improve my ability to establish vivid historical imagery, and gain a solid foothold on the
voice necessary to tell my next tale.
My goals for the second novel, The Honey Whiskey Murders, began with exploring untapped
research avenues. While I had a plot in mind, I knew it was important to stay open to the
unexpected places the information took me. The research that went into the project was so
entertaining, it was sometimes difficult to force myself to sit down and write.
I read Murder and Mayhem in Clinton County, Iowa, a book published by the Clinton County
historical museum which includes a compilation of all newspaper articles covering both solved
and unsolved murders from the area dating back to the mid 1800s. The case of Homer and Rosela
Brownfield is one of many unsolved murders in my home county. The Brownfield murders made

school fees but wealthy girls were usually taught at home by a governess, and the boys attended
