My Theme Song Of Pink Floyd
My Theme Song For somebody who is not invested in artistic outlets, I absolutely love music. I like
all kinds of music, from country to rap to today s hits and Billboard s Top 40. However, the only
genre I will never grow tired of, and the one I have loved since a young age, is classic rock. There
are a few classic rock songs that I relate so strongly to, and at times I could swear they were
written just for me. No song reflects how I have felt more about my senior year though, than
Eclipse by the band Pink Floyd. Senior year is a transitional part of my life, and it cannot be
described in just one definite way. To reflect this, I selected a song that has no definite meaning.
Eclipse is the final song of an album that has withstood... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I believe it means is that all the things listed ( everything under the sun ) are invaluably
important things that make us who we are, but in the gravity of huge situations nothing matters
for a while except what is going on at that moment (such is the case in an actual eclipse). I have
chosen this for my senior theme song because school has led to everything important in my life
until this point, and everything that I have experienced throughout these years are going to be
eclipsed by Graduation Day. As much as I hate getting ahead of myself, I have been able to
answer every question I have posed to myself this year with: What s it matter? I ll be gone after
Graduation anyway. When we graduate, we are going to all look back and remember everything
that we have experienced together up until that point, and all the memories we have made. But
during Graduation, the fact that we have finally made it to such a huge part of our lives will
matter to me more, and that is going to be my metaphorical eclipse. I got the chance to witness an
actual eclipse at the beginning of my senior year, and noticed that no matter how important
everything else usually seemed, for roughly an hour nothing was more important to anybody than
the eclipse. I felt like that tied back into senior year and how Graduation seems to be all that feels

The Temperance Movement In The 1800 s
Temperance became the biggest reform movement in the early 1800 s. Alcohol abuse was a
cause of many factors such as spousal abuse, unemployment (poverty), crime, and family neglect.
Alcoholic spirits were being produced at a large rate of 25 million gallons a year. To me this
seems like a small rate to what we drink in our day and age but I could be wrong. The Temperance
movement was brought to attention by Benjamin Rush. Rush fought for Temperance and was one
of the founding fathers of the United States (which I did not know); he signed the Declaration of
Independence and served as Surgeon General in the Continental army. Rush talks about the effects
of Alcohol abuseand what it does to the human system. Later he forms a community to try

The Secret Sharer Assignment
In The Secret Sharer by Joseph Conrad, we as readers are introduced to the captain and a former
first mate of another ship who has been arrested for murder of another crew member, whose
name is Legatt. We learn of the captain s elaborate plan to hide Legatt to avoid his capture. First,
he takes Legatt, the arrested first mate, under his wing and instead of arresting him, like he
should, he tells him to hide in his quarters, and throughout the tale, we see Legatt nearly being
captured multiple times, such as when the captain is asked where his coat is, and one of his
crewmen reply that it was in his quarters in the bathroom, to which the captain suddenly goes into
a cold sweat, worrying he might be found out if Legatt is seen. Legatt and the captain appear as
doubles because the captain, feeling sorry for Legatt, decides to give him clothing of his to wear for

towering black mass like the very gateway of Erebus yes, I was in time to catch an evanescent

thoughts, as though he were my second self, had lowered himself into the water to take his
punishment: a free man, a proud swimmer striking out for a new destiny. (Conrad 193)
What does this mean?: In short, the captain remembers the person who was in his cabin, Legatt,
and since he was a former first mate, he is similar to the captain. The last line signifies that Legatt
has moved on to a new life. Throughout the story, we see the captain refer to Legatt as his second
self, or double, but I think that the reason that he calls him double is because he s looking at
himself and who he used to

Guidin Shrek Tragic Hero Essay
A tragic hero is someone like Hamlet from Shakespeare s play Hamlet. The flaws and struggles
within his self on his choices and decisions. No matter what the character does, their flaws will
lead to their tragic downfall or something like Oedipus in the Greek drama Oedipus. While an epic
hero generally doesn t have the same type of waving flaws that a tragic herodoes. They know the
correct path in following it no matter what. An anti hero is a central character in a story, movie, or
drama who lacks conventional heroic attributes.
Shrek a green ogre who loves the isolation in his swamp finds his life interrupted by many
fairytale characters who are outlaw by order of the fairytale hating Lord Farquaad. With the help of
mixed fairy tale creatures, including a talking donkey, Shrek attempts to earn back his home, and
in the process wins something much more. Shrek shows all the steps of an epic hero but I believe
he were an anti hero, despite his deceivingly unusual exterior. The main assistance that Shrek
receives is from an unlikely source by a small grey donkey named Donkey. Donkey helps Shrek in

As the followers of the English singer and songwriter who is famous worldwide as a co founder
of the band Beatles John Lennon always do on December 8, they assembled at the Strawberry

a world that lives as one. The Tuesday s gathering was the 35th anniversary of John Lennon s
killing, and was showcased with the feeling of the miniature peace festival, as Lennon s admirers
congregated in a circle around a stone designed of the word Imagine graying men strummed guitars

The Jim Crow Rights
The shadow becomes known. Big groups, small groups, militants, and peacemakers, strong, brave,
marches and riots, boycotts... Leaders... Fighters... And Strong willed individuals. That s who my
ancestors of yesterday were and that s who I am today. People think that president Lincoln,
Congress, and the Emancipation Proclamation freed all slaves, but it was Slaves who freed
themselves from slavery. African Americans always fought for their freedom, nobody gave it to us
and we will continue to fight until we get what we deserve. The emancipation proclamationdid
nothing for slavery but freed slaves that were already free for fighting alongside with the north.
Lincolns proclamation, freed not a single slave who was not already entitled to freedom under
legislation passed by congress the previous year. Without protest, African American
Kings and
Queens wouldn t have the very little rights we have today. Back then blacks were looked at as a
piece of property not even entitled to the pot they pissed in, but as times changed we started to gain
and maintain. Nearly 100 years after the Emancipation Proclamation, African Americans in
Southern states still inhabited a starkly unequal world of disenfranchisement, segregation, and
various forms of oppression, including race inspired violence. Jim Crow laws represented a formal,
codified system of racial apartheid that dominated the American South for three quarters of a
century beginning in the 1890s. The laws affected almost every

Behind Every Great Woman Stands a Great Nation What can women bring to the table that men
can t? The world may seem to be run by men, but three women caught the eye of many people.
Esther De Berdt Reed was a women who took matters into her own hands by creating a fund for
the soldiers in the war. Even though she did not live a long life, she changed how people viewed
women. Deborah Sampson fooled the men standing right next to her. She fought with her fellow
brothers against the British and without them even knowing she was a woman. Though Abigail
Adams did not physically do anything for the women of America, she used her her pen and paper
to explain how she really felt about the titles people give women. Alongside her was her husband

Since Esther was British and she married an American man, it was very hard for her to decide
which side to take. She loved her home country, but she could not tolerate the way the British
acted towards the Americans. She became a supporter of American Independence. Through the
years Joseph s social status was rising, Esther saw it as an opportunity to make an impact in the
war efforts. She decided to write Sentiments of an American Women . It was published in the
newspaper to spread the word to get women to join her in her nationalistic organization, the
Ladies Association of Philadelphia. The goal for the Ladies was to raise money to accumulate
supplies for the soldiers in the war. Only three days after the Pennsylvania Gazette published
Sentiments of an American Woman more than thirty women gathered to discuss the best way to
aid the Soldiers. The group of ladies split up into groups and went from door to door trying to
earn money. Many people contributed to the cause because they found it fascinating that there
were women asking instead of men. Giving door to door, the society saw the men as doing work
and women staying at home. Due to their hard work, in the end they were very successful. The
Ladies collected more than $300,000 dollars. The money was used to purchase supplies like
cloth, thread, and needles to sew clothes and other apparel for the soldiers. On behalf of the
Ladies Association of Philadelphia, the men s morale was lifted and made it less difficult for the
soldiers to fight for their country. Esther showed people that women could make a difference in the
world. These women worked independently and without the need of men. Esther Reed was a

Epic Of Gilgamesh Research Paper
Most myths can be divided into two groups given by their nature creation and explanatory myths.
When creation myths are known to have one main interpretation in each religion to explain the
creation of the world and its inhabitants. While explanatory myths explain natural processes these
are much more common and known throughout the world today. When The Epic of Gilgameshis
told it is meant to explain the natural process of life and the understanding of humility through the
main characters lives and experiences. Death is an inevitable and inescapable fact of human life,
which is the greatest lesson Gilgamesh learns through the course of this epic.

Do to these factors Gilgamesh becomes a terrible ruler that his subjects hate by using his
strength and looks to get everything he wants in life. The gods take pity on the people of Uruk
and sends creating a wild man named Enkidu to Gilgamesh so he can understand an other
concept besides himself. In the epic everything that happens to Enkidu is because of Gilgamesh
s actions. From becoming made a wild man then becoming civilized to how he dies the actions
Gilgamesh does impact not himself but his only friend. After turning down a goddess that found
Gilgamesh very interesting in a very rude manner, to the effect of he told her he found her
disgusting she made it so the gods cursed Gilgamesh s friend Enkidu to die a very slow death.
This puts Gilgamesh morality in the forefront of his mind were he was often thinking about his
own death like many have before him. Gilgamesh does not want to die, in an effort to stop his own
demise he searches for his ancestor Utanapishtim. He is in search of him because he wants to find
out how he can become immortal. In this journey, Gilgamesh is told repletely that mortality is
something humans just have to accept. This is not good enough for

Rain Motifs In Ray Bradbury s There Will Come Soft Rain
Overcast sky, dark wind, cold light, and gloomy actions are the characteristics and effects of a
rainy day. Rain is often the precursor to disaster in a story because of the natural feelings of
sadness that it brings. Therefore, it is appropriate that a rain motif should be present in There Will
Come Soft Rains , written by Ray Bradbury. The rainmakes a subtle but important appearance in
the story, which allows certain events and objects to express their feelings more adequately in the
themes of emptiness and the rising power of technology. The first appearance of rain is when the
people of the house are supposed to be leaving for work, The weatherbox on the front door sang
quietly: Rain, Rain, go away; rubbers, raincoats for today...

Socrates Virtues Of The City
Socrates believes every city and person has virtues within them, and it is the proper balance of the
virtues that results in justice. The virtues of a city, Socrates mentions are, wisdom, courage,
temperance and justice. He claims justice is the balance of all three virtues with everybody playing
their proper role in society. The first virtuehe examines is wisdom. Wisdom, Socratessay s resides in
the smallest class, the Rulers, because they posses the knowledge, ...which takes measures, not in
behalf of anything in the city, but in behalf of the city as a whole... (Republic, 428d). The next

(Republic, 427e). The proper balance in a city of wisdom, courage and temperance results in

analogous. He claims that just as the are three virtues to the just city, there are three parts to the

Spirit, or the active part of the soul, pushes the body into action to obtain its desires, and

Civilism And Civilization In William Golding s Lord Of The...
Every day we hear about violence in the news, about terrorists, shooters, and robbers that we do
not associate with ourselves. However, hidden within everyone is that innate evil as is shown
through Golding s story. The novel, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, is set on an
uninhabited island where a group of young British boys find themselves stranded without any
adults. Overcoming their joy, the boys develop a society of sorts, finding ways to survive and get
rescued. However, the civilizationdivides. Some of the boys go astray, their primitive instincts
emerging through their actions as they become more violent. The boys lose their identities as
cultured humans. They revert to the nature of pre civilization beings with the aid of the masks
they don in order to hunt as well as to identify savages. Golding develops the characters,
specifically Ralph and Jack, showing the loss of their innocence and steady maturing. However,
overly exposed to the wild, Jack and the hunters id, or their instincts unbounded by society or
morals, materializes. The id is the impulsive section of the mind that contain the inner desires and
are restricted by the ego and superego which are the consciousness. The continuous battle between
savagery, represented by the Lord of the Flies, and civilization, represented by the conch and
Piggy, is presented throughout the story as the two sides of society battle. In Golding s Lord of the
Flies, it is depicted through the actions of the boys that when separated from civilization, one s
inevitably evil nature emerges, their true attributes exposed as their ties to society dissolve.
With the assistance of the masks and the deindividuation that occurs when acting as a group, the
boys on the island lose their sense of identity. Jack and his hunters made clay masks in order to
hunt, claiming the pigs they preyed upon did not smell them but saw them. As he set the mask
upon himself, [Jack] began to dance and his laughter became a bloodthirsty snarling (Golding, 64)
The mask was what Jack hid [behind], liberated from shame and self consciousness, (64) As Jack
puts his mask on for the first time, it foreshadows the future violence that will come. He snarls as if
he was an animal, showing

John Edgar Wideman s Our Time a chapter from Brother and Keepers is a very interesting essay
explaining the hardships of living in a place like Homeland back in the 50 s. Wideman tells his
story through his mother, his brother Robby, and himself bringing up throughout the story the
troubles he faces as a writer. Wideman faces the issue of keeping out his own bias as he listens to
the stories of his family. Wideman life turned out better than was most likely expected during that

Wideman also brings up his writing problems as he tells the story, as a way to let the reader know
the exact process that he is going through as he listens to Robby and tries to remember the
conversations with his mother. As Wideman begins his interview with his brother he questions
to himself how he will be able to leave out his view of the story so that he does not turn the final
story into a one that just explains how he perceived his brothers interview. Wideman relates the
problems that he has communicating with Robby to his own writing; he is not sure how to face
the whole situation of speaking with his brother about personal things. The relationship that they
had growing up led them to this awkwardness, but Wideman faces these challenges and
overcomes them by catching up on what was currently going on with the family. His writing
reflects this because as he questions himself in this prose he seems to be unsure as to how he
wants his story structured. Wideman is up front to his audience about his witting issues in this
prose because I believe that he wants the reader to be able to relate. Trying to catch up with a

the direction that you want it, and by just starting with current topics or what s going on at that

Authentically Portrayed Women in Literature Essay
Leo Tolstoy s Anna Karenina; Margaret Mitchell s Gone with the Wind; Tennessee Williams A
Streetcar Named Desire. Upon first glance, these classics of literary legend appear to have nothing
in common. However, looking closer, one concept unites these three works of art. At the center of
each story stands a woman an authentically portrayed woman. A woman with strengths, flaws,
desires, memories, hopes, and dreams. Tolstoy s Anna Karenina, Mitchell s Scarlett O Hara, and
Williams Blanche DuBois are beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated women: strong yet fragile, brazen
yet subtle, carnal yet pure. Surviving literature that depicts women in such a realistic and moving
fashion is still very rare today, and each piece of that unique genre... Show more content on

Indeed, the two sisters believed that the beautiful pure freedom of a woman was infinitely more
wonderful than any sexual love (Lawrence, Lady 1994 7). The author maintains this stance on
women s independence, but he tweaks it slightly over the course of the story. Connie marries
Clifford Chatterley, an aristocrat and owner of the estate Wragby Hall, who is paralyzed from
the waist down because of a war injury, rendering him impotent. Clifford devotes himself to his
work writing and Connie remains ignored. A Sleeping Beauty, she has not awakened to life
(Squires in Lawrence, Lady 1994 xxi). This lack of connection with her husband fans the flame
of Connie s sexual inquisitiveness, first ignited in an erotic encounter, when she spies on
Mellors bathing naked. In Sons and Lovers, Mrs. Gertrude Morel s personality is a near polar
opposite to Connie s. Whereas Connie is earthy, sensual, and physical, Mrs. Morel is proud,
unyielding, and intellectual (Murfin 34). She is associated with control, consciousness, coolness,
and colors suggesting purity (Murfin 38). In a letter to a friend, Lawrence himself wrote the
simplest explanation of Mrs. Morel s role in the novel: The son loves the mother all the sons hate
and are jealous of the father. The battle goes on between the mother and the girl, with the son as
object. The mother gradually proves

Affordable Care Act For Employers
If you work for a company and are employed on a part time basis, beware! Due to mandates going
into force by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for employers, anyone working less
than 30 hours most likely is going to go without health benefits at some point. PPACA, originally
proposed as a way to help control health care costs, quickly morphed into a vehicle to control the
insurance market. Regardless of your political bent, the end result of PPACA is that millions of
employees are losing their insurance coverage. What the @% #!!!
Many part timers are facing a double whammy from President Obama s health care reform. The law
requires large employers offering health insurance to include part time employees working 30
hours a week or more. But rather than provide health care to more workers, a growing number of
employers are cutting back employee hours instead. The result: Not only will these workers earn
less money, but they ll also miss out on health insurance at work.
Across the nation, hundreds of thousands of other hourly workers may also see smaller paychecks
in the coming year because of this response to PPACA. The law exempts businesses with fewer
than 50 full time workers from this requirement to provide benefits. But big restaurant chains,
retailers, and movie theaters are starting to trim employee hours. Even colleges are reducing
courses for part time professors to keep their hours down and avoid paying for their health
premiums.

Jay Gatz Vs The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is known to have religious symbolism embedded in the text, from God figures
to Deism and Christianity. Fitzgerald brings light to Gatsby s humanity and God figure by
creating two versions of him in the text: Gatz and Gatsby. However, which version is real, and
which is a failed manifestation of the other? It is evident in the text that the real version, or person,
is in fact James Gatz. Jay Gatsbyis only a gilded version of James Gatz, created by the mind of a
seventeen year old. Through his gildedness, he has managed to destroy his life and build his

Fitzgerald relates Gatsby to a son of a God doing His Father s business, or the son of his past self
doing his business. New money is the best description for Jay Gatsby, being rash, ostentatious,
and flamboyant with his riches and power. His house, Rolls Royce, and extreme parties all
reflect his character and his motives to gain the love of Daisy once again. It is ironic that Gatsby
changed his entire life, however he thinks that everything can return to the way it was in the
past, more specifically the relationship between Daisy and Gatsby. Their love for each other is
now tainted on both sides, one because Daisy also loves Tom, and that Gatsby does not truly love
Daisy anymore. He loves the idea of Daisy and the memories they have had together, almost
envisioning her as a perfect being. This translates to an unhealthy lust for Daisy from Gatsby,
which changes, and eventually ends, their relationship. One can also point observe that Jay
Gatsby, as a public figure, is gilded. The mask that Gatsby puts on in public hides the source of his
riches, which are of dishonorable and corrupt

Massachusetts. Mary sold healing herbs and other remedies to people who came from far and
wide to see her. People say she was beautiful and that she enchanted many men. As time passed,
some grew jealous of the attention she received, and villagers began to tease her behind her back,
calling her a witch. People whispered that Mary would never marry or bear children.
One year, village girls began to disappear. When the first girlvanished, people said she had run
away. But as time passed, more and more girls disappeared. Their families were overcome with
grief, and all the villagers searched the forest, the streets, the houses, pastures and barns. They ...

They came to a tree, where they saw Mary holding a magic wand pointed toward the miller s
house. The miller s daughter was there too, glowing in an unearthly light. It seemed Mary had cast
a spell on the girl.
The villagers raised their weapons shovels, pitchforks and rifles. But upon hearing the people
coming, Mary broke off her spell and raced into the woods. The villagers chased after her, and
when they reached her cottage, they captured her. As she thrashed about, fighting off the villagers,
Mary broke a mirror, cutting her hand.
Mary screamed and cursed all the women and girls of the village. The people called it the curse of
Bloody Mary.
Mary was put on trial, and at the trial the miller s daughter described the sound she had heard as a
melodic whistle, like the wind blowing through leaves and carrying a tune.
People in the packed courtroom noticed Mary was pregnant, but she would not reveal who the
father of her child was. When the judge insisted that she tell everyone, she said, There is no father.
On the stand, the local minister declared that the baby must be the child of Satan.

The Navajo Code Talker
Joseph Bruchac s novel Code Talker tells the story of the Navajo Code Talkers who played a
vital role in the US. conflict with Japan throughout World War II. The narrator, Ned Begay, is a
Navajo soldier who wonders why the Japanese supported the war so strongly while Americans

Tokubetsu KЕЌtЕЌ Keisatsu; although the name was often shortened to TokkЕЌ, this agency was

The TokkЕЌ were more secretive than the Japanese Military Police, the Kempeitai. The military

to repress dangerous thoughts, the TokkЕЌ would be infamously known as the Thought Police.
Dangerous comprised anything anti government, anti emperor, leftist, and critical of the war. The
Thought Police also targeted labor unions, Koreans living in Japan, religious groups other than

The TokkЕЌ used many undercover informants who secretly joined leftist organizations and

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Critical Legal Studies
Analyse the strength of the Critical Legal Studies movements critiques of indeterminacy and
contradiction.
Critical Legal Studies: Critiques of Indeterminacy and Contradiction in Law
Critical legal studies comes under the umbrella term of critical legal theory along with such groups
as feminists and Marxist theorists. An influence can be seen from American Legal Realism in some
areas of critical legal studies. The scholars who work under this term have no general approach or
theory but instead consider a variety of critiques including those of indeterminacy and
contradiction. They tend to see the law as consisting of many contradictions which they believes
supports a status quo of some people being left disadvantaged by the law whilst others gain a
disadvantage. They believe due to this inequality that there needs to be a social change to improve
the system. Indeterminacy appears to be able to be split up into several smaller critical categories
and it is this critique which shall be dealt with first.
1.Indeterminacy
In similarity to American Legal Realists, Critical Legal Studies scholars believe that the rules that
are contained within statutes and common law are unable to establish an outcome in new cases
that come before the court . This is partly due to the criticism of indeterminacy they have based on
the idea known as legal reasoning.
Legal reasoning, according to Critical Legal Studies, is in fact nothing more than a manipulation of
abstract categories with no

The Four Pillars Of The Japanese Theater
Japanese theater has four main pillars of the classical theater consisting of, Kabuki, Noh, Kyogen,
and Bunraku Puppet Theater. They all have deep roots, the longest of them being Noh, dating back
to 1363, after the Prince Shotoku converted to Buddhism, and Kan ami and Zeami refined the court
arts and created Noh (Mitchell 239). Following Noh came Bunraku, emerging during 1603 1867
(Mitchell 240). Bunraku was very popular until Kabuki came out, in the late 18th century, and
overcame the many accusations against the art (Mitchell 242). The interesting thing about Japanese
theater is that its focus is strongly on tradition, and being so it is passed down from the elder
people of the generation to the younger so that they can keep the theater... Show more content on

In the mid 1800 s Kabuki Theater tried to make a revival, and they did, yet it was not as strong
as it once was because they tried to incorporate a multitude of Western culture into the theater
(Japan Fact Sheet). Once they found a happy medium between the traditional culture and the
modern culture with writers such as Okamoto Kido and Mishima Yukio, who were not
previously involved in Kabuki, Kabuki began to grow in popularity again (Japan Fact Sheet).
Kabuki today closely resembles the a close family of actors in the hierarchy, the staging of past
plays (Japan Fact Sheet). Kabuki has a strong alliance with the famous celebrities, and they are
often found on the stage (Japan Fact Sheet). Noh Theater is known as characteristically simple
(Introducing the world of Noh). There are no sets or props on the stage, and to keep it simple the
Noh stages have no curtains to separate the audience from the actors (Introducing the world of
Noh). This has stayed the same throughout most of the history of Noh (What is Noh?). In noh,
there is also a sense of unity throughout, all of the Actors and ensemble are always on the stage
together, they function as one, all the actions that they perform on stage are simple (What is
Noh?). A main aspect of Noh is the masks that the actors use. They are called Hannia they are an
extension of the actor and become the face that the audience sees (Noh Masks). Noh theater was

A Year I Had An Exciting Summer
This year I had an exciting summer. I did many fun and exciting things, but my best memory was
when I went to vacation to New Mexico. I went for about 2 weeks and had a great time. We ve
gone 2 years in a row now and hope to go back next year. My family and I went to go visit my dad
s side of the family. The main reason we went was for my cousin Jasmine s Quinceanera (which is
the celebration of a teenage girl turning 15 in the Hispanic culture).
This year almost my whole family that lives in Indiana and my other relatives from Ohio also
went. Last year it was only my family so that s why this year was better. The best thing about the
trip was the car ride. Since more family went this time we got to ride with whoever we wanted. I
rode in my aunt s car with her, my cousin Kim who is my age, my cousin Alisen who is younger
than us, and my twin sister Breanna. We took 4 cars since 4 families went, and we were all
following each other it took about 18 hours to get there. We left on a Thursday at around 7 pm
and got there Friday at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. The road trip was fun, because we jammed
out to our favorite hits, we stopped to eat and get snack many times, and we just talked and
laughed and had a great time and made great memories it was a fun road trip.
So once we got to New Mexico we went straight to my aunt s house (the same house we stayed last
year we came) as soon as we got off we got attacked by all of our cousins. After that we all got

Test For Aggregation Bias On The United States Personal...
The purpose of this analysis is to test for aggregation bias in the United States Personal
Consumption Expenditure (PCE). This paper uses first and second generation panel unit root
testsfootnote{For more information see Hurlin (2007). } on the National Income and Product
Accounts (NIPA) that make up the PCE. Second generation tests differ from first generation tests in
that the latter drop the assumption of cross sectional independence the error term. Aggregation bias
exists if NIPA inflationdifferentials converge or diverge at different levels of aggregation. An
inflation differential is the difference between inflation rates in one sector and the inflation rate in
another sector. Higher levels of aggregation are made to represent the lower, more dis aggregate
levels. If aggregates properly represent the underlying data then each level should converge or
diverge the same. Aggregation is important because the process used to aggregate the data may
remove information from the data and create divergent inflation differentials when dis aggregate
inflation rates converge. Monetary policy of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is
based on a target inflation rate, however there are concerns that if the FOMC focus s on aggregate
inflation it may cause individual sectors to diverge. Clark (2006) uses dis aggregate quarterly NIPA
accounts to study the distribution of inflation persistence across consumption sectors. Inflation
persistence is the tendency of inflation to

Essay About Teaching African American Male Students
Introduction
The purpose of this study is to examine how the strategies implemented within the classroom are set
in place to increase young adult literature engagement towards African American males in middle
through high school classrooms living in a sector of North Texas. The research questions framing
the study are as follows:
1.What pressing problems do teachers face in addressing the needs of African Americanmales who
are struggling readers and writers?
2.What are teacher s perceptions towards teaching African American male students?
3.What applications are involved in increasing the African American male s engagement in
literature and writing in the classroom?
Pressing Problems
According to numerous studies by Dwarte, Lewis Lancaster,Warren, Henfield and Washington
suggest the pressing problem of empathy, professional development and cultural background needs
to be addressed in an effort to improve the African American male student achievement gap. It s
important to address empathy because teachers need to care for their students. Additionally,

of the ubiquity of hegemonic, mainstream systems that were not even designed for them from the

Automation testing reduces human technical risks
The developers who worked on the application may change work or else choose to bring projects
in house to have it developed and /or maintained by our own staff as automated test facilitate code
refactoring. With the automated test on hand developer can change the code and run the test to
easily and find out that the changes made have impacted the system or not.
Automated testing is more powerful and versatile
As for a tester it is difficult to manually create 100 users to check if the app meets performance
requirements as for example to check if the generation of statistics from the number of users will
take 1 second. With automated test we can change the creation date for the objects in database.
Automated testing allows tackling the challenges easily.

Beach (noun) a place of relaxation, rest, and tranquility. Gun Lake beach located in Prairieville,
Michigan. One of the, in my opinion, most fun, sunniest beaches in Barry County. While the
beaches of North Captiva Island, Florida are big, beautiful, and enchanting. The differences
between Barry County and North Captiva are huge depending on the topic. The beaches of
North Captiva have white sand, starfish, and tons of crabs playing peek a boo in their shells.
Beaches of Gull Lake are short, grassy, and filled with trees. Most of the time the water is cool
and clear, unlike the water in Florida which was warm and foggy from the constant rolls of the
ocean waves. The clear, sunny, Barry County beach is no match for the beaches of Florida.

Atonement In The Trials Of Arabella
Written by Ian McEwan and later screen adapted by Joe Wright, Atonement is an extremely
effective and well presented metanarrative. It isn t until the final stages of the book where the
format of the story is disclosed, leaving the audience with an unsuspected shock. However, upon
closer inspection, the many indicative and self referential symbols can be recognised all throughout
the novel(2003) and the film (2007).
One of the most important and well recognised symbols of the book and the film is the prevalence
of The Trials of Arabella . Before we are introduced to the story line of Atonementwe are
introduced to that of The Trials of Arabella . at some moments chilling, at others desperately
sad...Arabella... is punished by ill fortune... on an impetuous dash towards a seaside town with
her intended... presented by a second chance in the form of an improvised doctor (Pg.1,
McEwan). Written by Briony Tallis, the play gives the reader the actual story line before the plot
is actually introduced. Similarly, although in the beginning of the film we do not know what the
story is about, the opening scene is of Briony in front of type writer, the scene is accompanied by
sounds of a typewriter and this follows Briony out of her room and through the house. Another
indication that Cecelia is in fact Arabella is the mention of the protagonist who ran off with an
extrinsic fellow. It grieved her parents to see their first born evanesce from her phone to go to

High Speed And Wide Bandwidth Of Technology
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
Analog to digital converters (ADCs) is a mixed signal processing device that converts analog
signals which are real world signals to digital signals for processing the information. With the
advancement of technology, digital signal processing has progressed prominently in recent years.
The aim of design is low power, high speed and wide bandwidth analog to digital converter has
increased tremendously. Therefore the focus of this thesis is to design low power Flash ADC
that operates at high speed. Integration at very large scale a new architectures, and advances in
integrated circuit (IC) technology have dramatically changed the design of these systems and
created new areas of research and development. By the evolution of technology the transistor size
is reduces and the response of transistor is being faster. The evalution of design is deals with a
high speed (above 250MHz) but has low resolution (2 to 8 bits) as with small die area which is
called System on a chip (SoC). In this trend a large number of transistor is integrated on a single
chip, it is a challenge for a developer who designs an analog circuit for high speed applications
these are analog to digital and digital to analog converters (ADCs and DACs) that also maintains
other desirable attributes like low power consumption and small chip area.
The main objective for the consideration a designed ADCs for the complete SoC are high speed
and low power consumption. For a Low

The Power Of Words In Words And Behavior, By Aldous Huxley
Words: so innocent and powerless. As they are, standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and
evil; they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.
Why is it that the power of words can be the most influential impact in building our own reality?
The effects of well chosen words have the power to inform, influence, educate and entertain others.
Their powers are expressed effectively and emotionally in stories, poems, and essays. Words are
what we use to express our self, our thoughts and our feelings. In Words and Behavior, written by
Aldous Huxley, he used multiple literary devices and manages to convey a tone of sophistication.
Huxley s usage of literary devices is so vast that some noticed immediately, while others after ...

At the beginning of his essay, he is comparing the behavior between animals and humans. With
the example of how cats at the spur of the moment, show a sign of hatred to towards another,
while humans, who have a way of expressing themselves act the complete same. The contrast that
Huxley is drawing is that animals don t have a sense of words, they cannot speak and that is the
reasoning to why they react to certain situations. He compares humans to animals since when we
are put in certain situations, we react without thinking about what we are doing, nor we express
how we are truly feeling. The author uses contrast throughout the entire essay and begins to
intertwine the contrast between animals and humans with how words contrast the meaning of
war. Huxley uses the contrast to demonstrate to his readers that yes, animals and humans are very
well alike because humans act like animals when it comes to certain emotions. He tries to make
the point that humans are intelligent compared to animals and we have one of the strongest
powers ever and that is our speech. Feeling and desire provide us with our motive power; words
give continuity to what we do and to a considerable extent determine our direction no matter what
we say or do our words do have

Reflection Paper On Rock Of Ages
On 21 July 2017, I attended the Rock of Ages jukebox musical, which incorporated popular 1980
s rock music with the love story of an upcoming rock star and a hopeful actress. Apart from the

Greg Fryhling on bass guitar, and Ben Chambers on percussion. The performance took place at
the CBC outdoor Diane Hoch Amphitheatre, which was set up to look like the Bourbon Room
in Las Angeles in the 1980 s. The walls were made of brick, with signs saying, Hollywood BLVD
and live nudes, with a sign saying girls, with an arrow pointing to a door. The audience dressed
casual, however, there were some who dressed up like the 1980 s. The performers, however,
were dressed like rock stars and waitresses, acting out the 1980 s. The performance was laid
back, the performers made jokes and the audience would laugh, and at the end of a scene the
audience would clap. The musical consisted of 2 acts, and in the following paragraphs I will

Refugee resettlement process supports reintegration chances for refugees and asylum seeker and it

but despite those things resettlement practices has some challenges as well for refugees and host

Resettlement policy and practices can be analyzed by different context and perspective. In the
United States, resettlement policy has become a humanitarian issue which related to human rights
and social justice. USCIS has been playing an important role in identifying the refugees documents
and supporting them to make legal person in USA.
Capps, R., Newland, K. (2015) have discussed that refugee resettlement policy in a different host
country like USA from different perspectives for example how to address the primarily pre and
post migration issue is different. In this seminal work the author has discussed the increasing

resettlement agencies and local communities to meet refugee s needs. Furthermore, it also
discussed that the origins of refugees are increasingly diverse. This source can be very helpful to

Imagery Pattern of Clouds in the Portrait of an Artist by...
The Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce is widely recognized by New Critics as
one of the greatest novels of its age for its aesthetic artistry. In the Portrait, a powerful
autobiographical novel of bildungsroman, commonly known as a coming of age story, that follows
the life of Irish protagonist Stephen Dedalus, Joyce portraits his momentous transition to adulthood
as a passage of psychological struggle towards his ultimate philosophical awakening and his
spiritual rebirth as an artist. Most visibly in Chapter Four of the novel, Stephen Dedalus, after the
denial of his own priesthood, goes on to seek his artistic personality through his secluded journey
amongst a myriad of natural elements. Dramatizing the Stephen s... Show more content on

He heard a confused music within him as of memories and names which he was almost conscious
of but could not capture even for an instant; then the music seemed to recede, to recede, to recede,
and from each receding trail of nebulous music there fell always one longdrawn calling note,
piercing like a star the dusk of silence. Again! Again! Again! A voice from beyond the world was
calling. (107)
Here, Stephen instantly displays a strong intimacy with the wafting clouds as they draw his
attention away from the pressing commandments posed by the Christian decree. Personifying the
clouds as the wanderers with spirits as his companions, Stephen takes refuge amongst the aimless
cloud to drift across the boundless sky. Dappled and seaborne, Stephen admits himself not so
purified and free of desires as devoted Christian brothers, as well as his earthly origin that he is
inevitably composed of. Consequently, Stephen finds imagination to be his key towards his own
enlightenment; just like the capricious clouds, Stephen follows his imaginations and brings the
perpetual beauty out of the sluggish matter of the earth to its sublimity across the clear sky (108).
Joyce also portraits clouds as the mild framers of the sunlight, an indirect contrast with the
conventional square framed windows at the church that Stephen

The World Tourism Organization ( Untwo )
The world tourism organisation (UNTWO) states: tourism comprises the activities of persons
travelling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one
consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity
remunerated from within the place visited. Throughout this essay the concept of tourismwill be
discussed using a systems approach as well as using Neil Leiper s basic whole tourism system
(Leiper, 2004) theory. The vulnerability of the open tourism system to periodic disruption will
also be looked at through the example of The September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks on The United
States of America. 9/11 as it is referred to today, was an event that shocked the world. Four
airplanes were hijacked by the Islamic extremist group, al Qaeda, and carried out suicide attacks in
the United States. Over 3,000 people were killed because of these attacks as well as the tourism
industry suffering worldwide and the American employment and economy declining significantly.
The tourism system is complex. Tourism has been analysed using a systems approach since the
1960s the idea that a single structure is comprised of multiple related and dependent groups. Key
to this approach is the idea of interdependence; because everything is related, a change in one
component of the system will affect other components in the system. Neil Leiper designed a basic
whole tourism system (Leiper, 2004) that showed tourism

try to complete my quest in a video game to me. As I mentioned, the reason why I came to
Canada was working here as a game programmer and learning English. So, I made a big plan to
achieve them. Since I have a disadvantage of English, I decided to take advantage of my strength

How to take notes
I have tried to take a note and highlighted points that I think it is important. I have also started to
run point on something that I would ask if I were an interviewer. I started to study while I ask
my classmates if there is something that I did not understand after taking notes. I applied for a
part time job as a tutor in the college because I could make money and I can also study while I
was teaching my classmates about programming. Finally, my grade started to get higher and I aced
all courses except for one course past two semesters.
However, my English has not been improved rather than I expected. I have made an attempt to
make a conversation with my friends and studied vocabularies hard but I could get nowhere. So,
one of my plan for this year is improving my English speaking. Of course, other plans that
finishing two projects before graduation and graduating with flying colours are still being
progressed. But my final goal is being a video game programmer in Canada.

Raunch Culture
The issue of sexuality in advertising has been raised in the last ten years (Brooke, 2010; Bradley,
2007; Phillips, 2005; Kent, 2005 Levy, 2005), hence the concept of raunch culture raises the
question of whether women are being empowered or victimised. This essay will discuss whether
raunch culture represents a wave of new feminism, focusing on whether women s sexuality is being
celebrated in a healthy and empowering manner or preyed upon by marketings misogynistic and
exploitating image of the good life laid out in various media forms, from billboards to sex videos
to television advertisements and movies. It will also identify the role and responsibilities of
marketers in relation to the stakeholders involved. Subsequently, followed... Show more content on

Criticism of using sexuality in advertising has also noted that it promotes the objectification of
women and them in a disrespectful environment (Boddewyn, 1991). Hence, at this point when
Hilton is famous, marketers should take responsibility, as they further marketed her with an image
of a bimbotic girl (Bradely, 2007). Moreover, as Richins (1991) reports, women always make
social comparisons between the advertising models and themselves. As a result, advertising images
create negative affect and increases women s dissatisfaction with their own appearance. Since those
images are edited through the consistent usage of digital technology, these idealized images do not
portray women in a healthy manner. Indeed, these enhanced images would give these young girls
the impression that they need to be perfect , just like these fake images. According to Reist in ABC
s Gruen Session (2010), young women get the message that they need to be thin, hot and sexy just
to be acceptable in this society. Therefore, by generating the wrong perception of real beauty, the
responsibility is pushed to the marketers, as they portray women with this stereotypical body type
as acceptable. In addition, as the brand, Dove s tagline in its advertisement What happened to the
real beauty ? (Reist, 2010), marketers need not market their products in manners portraying women
as airheads. Consequently, marketers gave most consumers viewing the advertisement, the wrong
impression that

The Pardoner of The Canterbury Tales Essay
The Pardoner of The Canterbury Tales
How can a man exact vengeance on God if there is nothing a mortal can do to hurt Him? The
Pardoner was born sterile, which resulted in abnormal physical development. He blames God for his
deformities and attempts to attack God by attacking the link between God and mankind the Church.
In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer indirectly depicts the characters through the stories they tell. The
tale is a window upon the person that tells it. However, the Pardoner s tale seems to contradict this
situation. The Pardoner, an immoral man, tells a moral story because he believes that doing this
will further his ultimate objective revenge upon God for his anomalous physical attributes. He had

The Pardoner s tale has an important theme, Radix malorum est cupiditas, which translates to
Greed is the root of all evil. However, the Pardoner does not practice what he preaches. His vocation
, which involves selling false pardons and relics for a profit, is a contradiction to his theme. And
thus I preach against the very vice/ I make my living out of avarice (243). The Pardoner continues
with his tale and condemns gluttony, drinking, gambling, and swearing, but then declares that he is
guilty of each one. It is evident that the Pardoner is a hypocrite and that he has no intention of
changing.
In the tale, three young rioters discover that a good friend has died and they mistakenly believe
he was killed by a man named Death. They pledge that they will find Death and avenge their
friend. As they embark on their quest, they pass by an old man and criticize his age. They inquire
about Death, and the old man mentions that he left Death by a tree. The rioters proceed to the tree,
but find a pile of gold florins rather than Death. Ultimately, the three young men kill each other in a
vain attempt to increase their personal share of the gold. Thus, the young men set out to find Death
and they succeeded in their search. Their greed was the cause of their demise. The Pardoner is
analogous to the rioters because

Cadence Analysis
A cadence is the notes or chords ending a section of music with feeling of the ending. The term
cadence applies to phrases or complete sections called movements. A cadence is at least two

Essay On Alimony Paper
When couples divorce, it is not uncommon for one spouse to be left unable to support him or
herself. In these cases, the Court may order the spouse with the greater income to pay alimony to
the spouse in need. Alimony, also called spousal maintenance, is a crucial financial safety net for
spouses who cannot support themselves after divorce. There are several different kinds of Florida
alimony that serve various purposes. Alimony can be temporary, bridge the gap, rehabilitative,
durational, or permanent.
Temporary alimony may be awarded while the divorce is pending, to be terminated once the
divorce is finalized. Temporary alimony helps the supported spouse meet their immediate financial
needs until a final alimony award can be ordered. Bridge the gap alimony is short term alimony
used to help the supported spouse maintain the standard of living they enjoyed during the marriage
until they can become self supporting. Bridge the gap alimony cannot exceed two years and
cannot be modified. Rehabilitative alimony may be awarded to a spouse so they can prepare to
enter the workforce. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

awarded for a set amount of time, no longer than the length of the marriage. Durational alimony is

The Mystery Of Vampires From Folklore Tales
Ideas, beliefs, and theories of monsters have been a part of culture since the dawn of mankind. Over
time, these gothic entities transformed into specific characters with names, features, and
appearances. One particular monster that sustained themselves over time have been vampires. In
fact, stories of vampires have been with civilization for centuries.
The exact origin of vampires is unknown and there have been many speculations and theories of
these monsters origins. Many scholars believe that vampires originated from folklore tales, which
spread all throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, England, and Ireland. In addition, early civilizations
associated vampires with unexplained events such as death, disease, and misfortune.
Scholars would theorize vampires were ways ancient people would associate with uncanny events
that could not be explained due to their lack of education, primitive medicine and crude technology.
According to Theodora Goss, the vampire functioned as [a] scapegoat ... [allowing] the villagers to

The Common Archetypes In Ethan Frome, By Edith Wharton
The well known narrative, Ethan Frome, is often described as similar to many classic fairy tales.
Resembling most fairy tales, not only is the plot of Ethan Frome is kept simple and
straightforward, but the novel also contains a number of common archetypes often found in fairy
tales, such as a wicked witch and princess. The book s plot, however, reflects a close affinity to the
original fairy tale, Snow White. The novel, Ethan Frome, by Edith Wharton easily compares to
many classic fairy tales, especially Snow White.
One of the common archetypes found in Snow White, is the evil stepmother/witch. This role fits
the character Zeena. In the original version of Snow White and the novel, Ethan Frome, both Zeena
and the Wicked Queen both fulfill the role of an older ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mattie displays a clear relation between her and the silvery maiden archetype. Not only does her
last name insinuate this, but her personality and appearance as well. Mattie is described in the

the classic film, Snow White, Snow White let s the disguised witch in not once or twice, but

White s actions in the film lead to the conclusion that she displays many child like characteristics.
Her sense of trust and foolishness lead to her death. Mattie, who is only twenty one, is described
in the narrative as lively and always happy, much like a child. One of the biggest correlations
between Mattie and Snow White is their similarity in appearance. Mattie Silver s black hair, red
cheeks, and white skin complement the appearance of Snow White in both the fairy tale and the
film. The similarities between Mattie and Snow While are visible to the reader through their

  • 2. My Theme Song Of Pink Floyd My Theme Song For somebody who is not invested in artistic outlets, I absolutely love music. I like all kinds of music, from country to rap to today s hits and Billboard s Top 40. However, the only genre I will never grow tired of, and the one I have loved since a young age, is classic rock. There are a few classic rock songs that I relate so strongly to, and at times I could swear they were written just for me. No song reflects how I have felt more about my senior year though, than Eclipse by the band Pink Floyd. Senior year is a transitional part of my life, and it cannot be described in just one definite way. To reflect this, I selected a song that has no definite meaning. Eclipse is the final song of an album that has withstood... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What I believe it means is that all the things listed ( everything under the sun ) are invaluably important things that make us who we are, but in the gravity of huge situations nothing matters for a while except what is going on at that moment (such is the case in an actual eclipse). I have chosen this for my senior theme song because school has led to everything important in my life until this point, and everything that I have experienced throughout these years are going to be eclipsed by Graduation Day. As much as I hate getting ahead of myself, I have been able to answer every question I have posed to myself this year with: What s it matter? I ll be gone after Graduation anyway. When we graduate, we are going to all look back and remember everything that we have experienced together up until that point, and all the memories we have made. But during Graduation, the fact that we have finally made it to such a huge part of our lives will matter to me more, and that is going to be my metaphorical eclipse. I got the chance to witness an actual eclipse at the beginning of my senior year, and noticed that no matter how important everything else usually seemed, for roughly an hour nothing was more important to anybody than the eclipse. I felt like that tied back into senior year and how Graduation seems to be all that feels ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alcohol abuse was a cause of many factors such as spousal abuse, unemployment (poverty), crime, and family neglect. Alcoholic spirits were being produced at a large rate of 25 million gallons a year. To me this seems like a small rate to what we drink in our day and age but I could be wrong. The Temperance movement was brought to attention by Benjamin Rush. Rush fought for Temperance and was one of the founding fathers of the United States (which I did not know); he signed the Declaration of Independence and served as Surgeon General in the Continental army. • 13. Civilism And Civilization In William Golding s Lord Of The... Every day we hear about violence in the news, about terrorists, shooters, and robbers that we do not associate with ourselves. However, hidden within everyone is that innate evil as is shown through Golding s story. The novel, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, is set on an uninhabited island where a group of young British boys find themselves stranded without any adults. Overcoming their joy, the boys develop a society of sorts, finding ways to survive and get rescued. However, the civilizationdivides. Some of the boys go astray, their primitive instincts emerging through their actions as they become more violent. The boys lose their identities as cultured humans. They revert to the nature of pre civilization beings with the aid of the masks they don in order to hunt as well as to identify savages. Golding develops the characters, specifically Ralph and Jack, showing the loss of their innocence and steady maturing. However, overly exposed to the wild, Jack and the hunters id, or their instincts unbounded by society or morals, materializes. The id is the impulsive section of the mind that contain the inner desires and are restricted by the ego and superego which are the consciousness. The continuous battle between savagery, represented by the Lord of the Flies, and civilization, represented by the conch and Piggy, is presented throughout the story as the two sides of society battle. In Golding s Lord of the Flies, it is depicted through the actions of the boys that when separated from civilization, one s inevitably evil nature emerges, their true attributes exposed as their ties to society dissolve. With the assistance of the masks and the deindividuation that occurs when acting as a group, the boys on the island lose their sense of identity. Jack and his hunters made clay masks in order to hunt, claiming the pigs they preyed upon did not smell them but saw them. As he set the mask upon himself, [Jack] began to dance and his laughter became a bloodthirsty snarling (Golding, 64) The mask was what Jack hid [behind], liberated from shame and self consciousness, (64) As Jack puts his mask on for the first time, it foreshadows the future violence that will come. Critical Legal Studies: Critiques of Indeterminacy and Contradiction in Law Critical legal studies comes under the umbrella term of critical legal theory along with such groups as feminists and Marxist theorists. An influence can be seen from American Legal Realism in some areas of critical legal studies. The scholars who work under this term have no general approach or theory but instead consider a variety of critiques including those of indeterminacy and contradiction. They tend to see the law as consisting of many contradictions which they believes supports a status quo of some people being left disadvantaged by the law whilst others gain a disadvantage. They believe due to this inequality that there needs to be a social change to improve the system. Indeterminacy appears to be able to be split up into several smaller critical categories and it is this critique which shall be dealt with first. 1.Indeterminacy In similarity to American Legal Realists, Critical Legal Studies scholars believe that the rules that are contained within statutes and common law are unable to establish an outcome in new cases that come before the court . This is partly due to the criticism of indeterminacy they have based on the idea known as legal reasoning. In the mid 1800 s Kabuki Theater tried to make a revival, and they did, yet it was not as strong as it once was because they tried to incorporate a multitude of Western culture into the theater (Japan Fact Sheet). Once they found a happy medium between the traditional culture and the modern culture with writers such as Okamoto Kido and Mishima Yukio, who were not previously involved in Kabuki, Kabuki began to grow in popularity again (Japan Fact Sheet). Kabuki today closely resembles the a close family of actors in the hierarchy, the staging of past plays (Japan Fact Sheet). Kabuki has a strong alliance with the famous celebrities, and they are often found on the stage (Japan Fact Sheet). Noh Theater is known as characteristically simple (Introducing the world of Noh). There are no sets or props on the stage, and to keep it simple the Noh stages have no curtains to separate the audience from the actors (Introducing the world of Noh). This has stayed the same throughout most of the history of Noh (What is Noh?). In noh, there is also a sense of unity throughout, all of the Actors and ensemble are always on the stage together, they function as one, all the actions that they perform on stage are simple (What is Noh?). I went for about 2 weeks and had a great time. We ve gone 2 years in a row now and hope to go back next year. My family and I went to go visit my dad s side of the family. The main reason we went was for my cousin Jasmine s Quinceanera (which is the celebration of a teenage girl turning 15 in the Hispanic culture). This year almost my whole family that lives in Indiana and my other relatives from Ohio also went. Last year it was only my family so that s why this year was better. The best thing about the trip was the car ride. Since more family went this time we got to ride with whoever we wanted. I rode in my aunt s car with her, my cousin Kim who is my age, my cousin Alisen who is younger than us, and my twin sister Breanna. We took 4 cars since 4 families went, and we were all following each other it took about 18 hours to get there. We left on a Thursday at around 7 pm and got there Friday at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. The road trip was fun, because we jammed out to our favorite hits, we stopped to eat and get snack many times, and we just talked and laughed and had a great time and made great memories it was a fun road trip. So once we got to New Mexico we went straight to my aunt s house (the same house we stayed last year we came) as soon as we got off we got attacked by all of our cousins. • 27. Test For Aggregation Bias On The United States Personal... The purpose of this analysis is to test for aggregation bias in the United States Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE). This paper uses first and second generation panel unit root testsfootnote{For more information see Hurlin (2007). } on the National Income and Product Accounts (NIPA) that make up the PCE. Second generation tests differ from first generation tests in that the latter drop the assumption of cross sectional independence the error term. Aggregation bias exists if NIPA inflationdifferentials converge or diverge at different levels of aggregation. An inflation differential is the difference between inflation rates in one sector and the inflation rate in another sector. Higher levels of aggregation are made to represent the lower, more dis aggregate levels. If aggregates properly represent the underlying data then each level should converge or diverge the same. Aggregation is important because the process used to aggregate the data may remove information from the data and create divergent inflation differentials when dis aggregate inflation rates converge. Monetary policy of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is based on a target inflation rate, however there are concerns that if the FOMC focus s on aggregate inflation it may cause individual sectors to diverge. Clark (2006) uses dis aggregate quarterly NIPA accounts to study the distribution of inflation persistence across consumption sectors. Inflation persistence is the tendency of inflation to ... • 31. Atonement In The Trials Of Arabella Written by Ian McEwan and later screen adapted by Joe Wright, Atonement is an extremely effective and well presented metanarrative. It isn t until the final stages of the book where the format of the story is disclosed, leaving the audience with an unsuspected shock. However, upon closer inspection, the many indicative and self referential symbols can be recognised all throughout the novel(2003) and the film (2007). One of the most important and well recognised symbols of the book and the film is the prevalence of The Trials of Arabella . Before we are introduced to the story line of Atonementwe are introduced to that of The Trials of Arabella . at some moments chilling, at others desperately sad...Arabella... is punished by ill fortune... on an impetuous dash towards a seaside town with her intended... presented by a second chance in the form of an improvised doctor (Pg.1, McEwan). Written by Briony Tallis, the play gives the reader the actual story line before the plot is actually introduced. Similarly, although in the beginning of the film we do not know what the story is about, the opening scene is of Briony in front of type writer, the scene is accompanied by sounds of a typewriter and this follows Briony out of her room and through the house. • 32. High Speed And Wide Bandwidth Of Technology CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Introduction Analog to digital converters (ADCs) is a mixed signal processing device that converts analog signals which are real world signals to digital signals for processing the information. With the advancement of technology, digital signal processing has progressed prominently in recent years. The aim of design is low power, high speed and wide bandwidth analog to digital converter has increased tremendously. Therefore the focus of this thesis is to design low power Flash ADC that operates at high speed. Integration at very large scale a new architectures, and advances in integrated circuit (IC) technology have dramatically changed the design of these systems and created new areas of research and development. By the evolution of technology the transistor size is reduces and the response of transistor is being faster. The evalution of design is deals with a high speed (above 250MHz) but has low resolution (2 to 8 bits) as with small die area which is called System on a chip (SoC). In this trend a large number of transistor is integrated on a single chip, it is a challenge for a developer who designs an analog circuit for high speed applications these are analog to digital and digital to analog converters (ADCs and DACs) that also maintains other desirable attributes like low power consumption and small chip area. The main objective for the consideration a designed ADCs for the complete SoC are high speed and low power consumption. For a Low ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As they are, standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil; they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them. Why is it that the power of words can be the most influential impact in building our own reality? The effects of well chosen words have the power to inform, influence, educate and entertain others. Their powers are expressed effectively and emotionally in stories, poems, and essays. Words are what we use to express our self, our thoughts and our feelings. At the beginning of his essay, he is comparing the behavior between animals and humans. With the example of how cats at the spur of the moment, show a sign of hatred to towards another, while humans, who have a way of expressing themselves act the complete same. The contrast that Huxley is drawing is that animals don t have a sense of words, they cannot speak and that is the reasoning to why they react to certain situations. He compares humans to animals since when we are put in certain situations, we react without thinking about what we are doing, nor we express how we are truly feeling. The author uses contrast throughout the entire essay and begins to intertwine the contrast between animals and humans with how words contrast the meaning of war. Huxley uses the contrast to demonstrate to his readers that yes, animals and humans are very well alike because humans act like animals when it comes to certain emotions. He tries to make the point that humans are intelligent compared to animals and we have one of the strongest powers ever and that is our speech. Feeling and desire provide us with our motive power; words give continuity to what we do and to a considerable extent determine our direction no matter what we say or do our words do have ... Apart from the cast, dancers and ensemble, there was Ben Walley on keyboard, Phil Simpson on electric guitar, Greg Fryhling on bass guitar, and Ben Chambers on percussion. The performance took place at the CBC outdoor Diane Hoch Amphitheatre, which was set up to look like the Bourbon Room in Las Angeles in the 1980 s. The walls were made of brick, with signs saying, Hollywood BLVD and live nudes, with a sign saying girls, with an arrow pointing to a door. The audience dressed casual, however, there were some who dressed up like the 1980 s. The performers, however, were dressed like rock stars and waitresses, acting out the 1980 s. The performance was laid back, the performers made jokes and the audience would laugh, and at the end of a scene the audience would clap. The musical consisted of 2 acts, and in the following paragraphs I will explain how the musicand the performance made me feel, the good and the bad. The performance began with a beautiful introduction, followed by the beginning of the song Come On Feel The Noize, by Quiet Riot. During the introduction, the music made me feel free and alive. The World Tourism Organization ( Untwo ) The world tourism organisation (UNTWO) states: tourism comprises the activities of persons travelling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited. Throughout this essay the concept of tourismwill be discussed using a systems approach as well as using Neil Leiper s basic whole tourism system (Leiper, 2004) theory. The vulnerability of the open tourism system to periodic disruption will also be looked at through the example of The September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks on The United States of America. 9/11 as it is referred to today, was an event that shocked the world. Four airplanes were hijacked by the Islamic extremist group, al Qaeda, and carried out suicide attacks in the United States. Over 3,000 people were killed because of these attacks as well as the tourism industry suffering worldwide and the American employment and economy declining significantly. The tourism system is complex. Tourism has been analysed using a systems approach since the 1960s the idea that a single structure is comprised of multiple related and dependent groups. Key to this approach is the idea of interdependence; because everything is related, a change in one component of the system will affect other components in the system. Criticism of using sexuality in advertising has also noted that it promotes the objectification of women and them in a disrespectful environment (Boddewyn, 1991). Hence, at this point when Hilton is famous, marketers should take responsibility, as they further marketed her with an image of a bimbotic girl (Bradely, 2007). Moreover, as Richins (1991) reports, women always make social comparisons between the advertising models and themselves. As a result, advertising images create negative affect and increases women s dissatisfaction with their own appearance. Since those images are edited through the consistent usage of digital technology, these idealized images do not portray women in a healthy manner. Indeed, these enhanced images would give these young girls the impression that they need to be perfect , just like these fake images. According to Reist in ABC s Gruen Session (2010), young women get the message that they need to be thin, hot and sexy just to be acceptable in this society. Therefore, by generating the wrong perception of real beauty, the responsibility is pushed to the marketers, as they portray women with this stereotypical body type as acceptable.
