Descriptive Essay On Christmas
Crafting a descriptive essay on Christmas can be both a delightful and challenging endeavor. The
task requires more than just weaving words; it demands the ability to evoke the festive spirit and
the warmth associated with this special occasion. The challenge lies in capturing the essence of
Christmas, transcending the superficial glitter and delving into the emotions, traditions, and
unique experiences that make this holiday truly magical.
Detailing the sights, sounds, and aromas of Christmas requires a keen observational skill and a
knack for selecting words that paint vivid pictures in the reader's mind. You must navigate
through the labyrinth of memories, trying to encapsulate the joyous moments, the laughter, the
aroma of freshly baked cookies, the twinkling lights, and the cozy warmth that pervades the air
during this time of year.
However, the difficulty intensifies when attempting to convey the intangible aspects of
Christmas – the emotions of togetherness, the sense of gratitude, and the spirit of giving.
Translating these abstract feelings into a tangible and relatable narrative challenges even the most
seasoned writers. Striking a balance between the festive cheer and the deeper, more meaningful
aspects of Christmas can be akin to walking a tightrope.
Moreover, the familiarity of the theme poses a unique challenge – how to present a fresh
perspective on a topic that has been explored and celebrated by countless writers before. The risk
of clichГ©s and predictable descriptions looms large, demanding creativity and a fresh angle to
keep the reader engaged.
In conclusion, writing a descriptive essay on Christmas involves more than just narrating events;
it necessitates the ability to infuse the prose with the enchantment and significance that the
holiday holds for individuals. It requires a delicate dance between nostalgia and innovation,
tradition and uniqueness. While challenging, the endeavor promises a rewarding experience as it
allows the writer to share the magic of Christmas through the power of words.

Holes
I Read the book Holes, written by Louis Sachar. The book is about how Stanley
Yelnats gets sent to a camp for troubled teenagers and his experience there. Stanley
is a teenage boy, hes was not a trouble maker, he was in the wrong place at the
wrong time. The book takes place in the early 2000 s. So Stanley was accused of
stealing a pair of cleats. But what really had happened was this boy named hector
stole the shoes and threw them after her got scared and they then fell on Stanley and
they cops found Stanley with the cleats.
So Stanley had the choice of going to jail or going to camp green lake, he chose
camp green lake. Camp green lake is a place where troubled kids go and dig holes
every day. So for the first few days he digs his hole a day, its not that easy. Later on
that week Stanley meets this boy named Zero , the people in the camp called him
zero because he wouldn t talk at all to them. Stanley and zero become good friends
over the time. Stanley then receives a letter from his parents and he think zero is
reading it but zero can t read, zero wanted to be taught to read. At first Stanley said
no but zero said he would help him dig part of his hole everyday so he wouldn t be
so tired to tutor him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One day zero ran away from the camp, everyone then thought he was dead after 3
days. Stanley then gets the nerve to run away to and go look for zero. He end up
finding zero and they walked around stuggling to survive in the dried up lake. They
come across a big mountain shaped like a thumb. So then they climbed the mountain
and they got really lucky because on top of that mountain were onions and water.
Zero and Stanley stay there for a few nights. Zero tells Stanley something really
important, which was that zero was the one who stole the shoes and threw them
which means zero was hector the one who got Stanley in that
Close Reading Potato Chips
To read is to look at and understand the meaning of letters, words, symbols, etc. That
is the official definition of the word read . If we apply this definition to our day to
day reading, then we barely scratch the surface of a deeper meaning behind what
we read. Close reading or the analysis of a text, help us, readers, furthermore
understand the texts not just what appear on the surface. By using close reading,
we are more aware of how each word are chosen because they may go well together
with another word and that would set the mood, tone, and voice for the text. Before
knowing about the art of close reading, I always love to read literary potato chips as
the article mention. I never want to read the same book twice and it was very
Literary Exploration on of Mice and Men
Literary Exploration In life we are part of many roles that create dangers we face
that may lie beyond our understanding. Even though these roles are hard to
understand, they can give meaning to our life. In John s Steinbeck Of Mice and
Men, we see these men s day to day lives, the main character; George takes care of
his friend Lennie who has difficulties understanding the rules of the world we live
in. Through the story there are many ups and downs mostly involving Lennie, who
is trying to see through the eyes of George and to do and be as George is. For this
reason George is constantly trying to think of what is best for Lennie. Through all
of this they face even more dangers and still try to find a way to raise money for a
farm to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
. . every damn one of em s got a little piece of land in his head. An never a God
damn one of em ever gets it. Just like heaven. Ever body wants a little piece of lan .
I read plenty of books out here. Nobody never gets to heaven, and nobody gets no
land. In this passage , after Lennie shares with Crooks his plan to buy a farm with
George and raise rabbits, Crooks tries to deflate Lennie s hopes which creates
dangers that may lie beyond our understanding. He relates that hundreds of men
have passed through the ranch, all of them with dreams like Lennie s. Not one of
them, he emphasizes with bitterness, ever succeeds to make that dream come true.
Crooks shows a sense of reality, telling again of Lennie s childlikeness , and that
the dream of a farm is, after all, only a dream. This moment show s off Crook s
character, and how a lifetime of loneliness and cruelty can lead to bitterness. It also
furthers Steinbeck s disturbing thought s that those who have strength and power in
the world are not the only ones responsible for cruelty. As Crooks shows, even
though he was hurt by others, he seeked out Lennie and attacked him because he is
even weaker than Crooks is. Sometimes in life we have difficulty in decisions that
makes us question our morals even deeper our character.
Josiah Bartlett s Accomplishments
Josiah Bartlett, delegate of New Hampshire in the Continental Congress, was born
on November 21, 1729 in Amesbury Massachusetts. His parents were Stephen and
Hannah Bartlett. In the beginning Bartlett studied and practiced the science of
medicine at Kingston, New Hampshire, He began his studies when he was only 16
years of age and continued them throughout his life. At the age of 21 he became
well known as an experienced doctor in Kingston and was depended upon by many
because of his experience and talent as a doctor. On January 15, 1754 he married his
cousin Mary Bartlett and throughout their marriagethey had eleven children. Marry,

He is not exactly one of the most famous names for signing the Declaration of
Independence and unlike John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, or
John Hancock he was not known as a main character in the movie 1776. Though he
was a member of the Continental Congress and his vote and signature counted just
as much as anyone else s, he was not as well know and talked about as some of the
others portrayed in the movie. I wanted to write this paper about him because I
wanted to show accomplishments and the importance of other people in the
congress that are not as famous or well know. In other words I wanted to show
others the behind the scenes of lesser characters in the movie. Just because
someone in a movie is not shown as much as others, or is not portrayed as an
important or famous member of something does not mean that they do not have any
say nor have they not done anything important in their lives. For example by
watching the movie I don t think I ever would have known or even thought that
Bartlett had accomplished so many things or that he had done so amazingly well in
politics or in medicine. According to my research Bartlett was a very important man
in Kingston and New Hampshire in general and without looking into this more I
would have never guessed any of this. This is just one of those things that show you
can t always believe what you see in movies, though obviously congress did not sing

Father Damien s Legacy
Father Damien was born in Tremelo, Belgium, on January 3rd, 1840 (St. Damien
of Molokai). He arrived to the Hawaiian Islands in March of 1864, and was
ordained a Priest at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace. In 1873, his bishop was
looking for a few brave volunteers to establish a parish for the lepers exiled on the
island of Molokai, and Father Damien volunteered (The Leper Priest). The first
documented case of leprosy was in 1848. The disease spread rapidly, and its cure
was unknown, causing an urgent need of complete isolation between lepers and
others. Kalaupapa was the desirable destination for this isolation because it was
surrounded on three sides by the Pacific ocean, making it hard for one to escape.
Additionally, it was cut off from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Saints have not only given of themselves, but they have given of themselves in the
service of God and their brethren. Father Damien is certainly in that category. He
lived his life of love and dedication in the most heroic yet unassuming way. He lived
for others: those whose needs were the greatest (The Word Among Us Catholic
Magazine). Pope Paul VI is saying that Father Damien was dedicated to healing the
leper s bodies and souls, even though he risked everything he had to do so. He put
all of his effort towards helping others who needed more than him. Therefore, he is a
Saint.
Despite his many accomplishments, Father Damien had personal and spiritual
struggles along the way. As he admitted during his confession to the Bishop, he had
lost the desire to pray at times and had thought impure thoughts. It was very mentally
exhausting to stay upbeat in such a depressing environment. He also struggled
physically, because at one point he injured his leg, and he eventually got
What Went Wrong At Boeing
The 787 was conceived as a revolutionary design that would be a replacement for the
aging 767, cost about the same, but be 20% more fuel efficient. It would accomplish
this by utilizing a construction of 50% composite something never before attempted
in the commercial aviation arena. In summary, Boeing was endeavoring to build a
brand new clean sheet aircraft from materials never used, using methods never
attempted, and using a supply chain more far reaching than ever experienced by the
plane maker.
In retrospect, it may be easy to see why the 787 has had so many problems. The
problems are so large that Forbes was prompted to publish an article titled, What
Went Wrong at Boeing. (Denning 2013) Boeing has worked through most of its
supply chain woes and has delivered over 60 787s to date. Boeing is now designing a
next generation version of its supremely popular 777, the 777 8/9.
Boeing s desire to reduce costs and production time by relying risk taking suppliers
to design and produce major aircraft components has led to many failures and cost
overruns in the 787 program. In order for Boeing to avoid the pitfalls of the 787
program, Boeing must take the lessons of the past in concert with good technology to
ensure good management of the new 777 supply chain. Literature Review
Boeing s move toward a supply chain that relied on utilizing risk taking suppliers for

Iran Contra Crack Cocaine
Did you know in December 1985 news broke of cocaine (crack) being trafficked by
the Contras into inner city neighborhoods especially predominantly black
neighborhoods? That fueled the crack epidemic in the 80 s and 90 s. This scandal
shaped then President Ronald Reagan (1981 1989) second term because he and his
vice president George H.W Bush denied knowing about this deal. This brings up the
question should have the government held those responsible criminally liable for this.
Iran Contra started happening in 1981 when Reagan signed a bill authorizing the
CIA to support the Contras ( Iran Contra Guide ). What happened during Iran Contra
was America was barred from selling arms to Iran. General Oliver North thought it

It is claimed to be a conspiracy theory by some. In the 1980 s the CIA was linked to
the Central American drug trade and the CIA and its operatives sold crack cocaine

clandestine operations in Central America but that is just a theory (Delaval).
Journalist Gary Webb published several articles in San Jose Mercury News called
The Dark Alliance . In his work he clearly refuted the claim that Iran Contra did not
introduce drugs to inner cities. He said the CIA sold tons of cocaine to LA street

Michael Ruppert has written extensively about the government s involvement in
drug trafficking around the world. He says politics isn t the only motive. The control
of the cash from the drug trade is of vital importance to wall street, because drug

Dimensions and mandates of a Bean bag toss board:
The American Cornhole Association mandates that the game platform should be 48

below the top edge. The platform should be made from ВЅ inch thick plywood. The
front edge stands 2ВЅ inches to 4 inches above the ground while the rear end has to
be exactly 12 inches above. Your diagram and planning for building the board should
adhere exactly to these measurements. Regulation Cornhole also requires that the
grain bags should be made of duck canvas that is 6 inches square, and filled with 2
cups or 1 pound (US) of grain. However, plastic filled grain bags can also be used in
place of grain ones, which will make the bags, weatherproof and durable. Grain filled
bags may get damaged if left for long in rain or close to
The Modern Scientific Origin Story

or consequence (merriam webster.com). However, this nothingness embarked the
start of the Modern Scientific Origin Story. This origin story is far from other origin
stories as it uses the different branches of science to put great detail and truth to how
the universebegan. This story is also composed of a series of the different thresholds
of increasing complexity, these thresholds mark the events that happened after the
expansion of the universe that is impossible to turn back to or repeat. The biggest
mystery of the universe is how nothing turned into something. As a matter of fact, no

In spite of this, how could life possibly emerge? The answer is within the skies. It
rained for millions of years and seas of lava eventually turned into seas of water,
becoming a gateway for life to possibly emerge. Along with this are the other
goldilocks conditions such as energy and chemical elements, mostly carbon which
Earth is in abundance of. So now that the Earth became a hospitable place in which
life could emerge, how did it really emerge? Life emerged under the oceanic vents
where simple elements formed amino acids that are keys to creating protein and
nucleotides that are keys to creating DNA the deoxyribose nucleic acid is the key to
life as it contains genetic information for what is to come. Life came from the
oceanic vents which had enough heat energy and chemical energy to form the first
prokaryotes the simplest form of cells without a nucleus and was created through
photosynthesis. Then it evolved into something that is more complex which is the
eukaryote which now has a nucleus and organelles that are crucial to life. As life in
water emerged and the eukaryotes bonded together creating multi celled organism,
the development of brains made it possible for life to move to land. This sudden
event created mammals which unlike aquatic animals, have fur and the more obvious
qualities of life. These qualities are what scientists call as

better followers of Jesus Christ. [x] Stetzer and Dodson agree that churches desiring a
comeback will need to make changes in order to start growing again. [27] Grounded
in scripture, each section intends to illuminate the actions necessary to facilitate a
turnaround, determining the status, preparation, and change management.
Comprised of fourteen chapters, the authors are explicit in readers comprehending
this as a guide rather than a fix all in turning around their churches. One chapter or
section will not facilitate a change, rather a sequence of habits and efforts. Comprised
of a large volume of statistical data, the facts remain constant; declining or plateaued
churches can rebound. However, it will require change, change from the pulpit to the
pews. Beginning with 0 or foundation, there are six criteria that should exist in all

The year was 1793 when the French began their journey through a dark time in their
country s history. After the National Convention established them as the French s
primary government, the National Convention once again tried to restore harmony

difficult situations; the National Conventiontook upon a country trapped east and
north of Prussian and Australian military presence, filled with economic chaos, and
threatened by Navy of Great Britain. However, instead of uniting the people under
times of terror, the French government executed a total number 14,000 people. The

Although the Revolutionary Army was strong and merciless with their enemies, they
ultimately were just adding fuel to the fire creating more enemies to deal with later
down the line. Many citizens died from the guillotine and the firing squad which was
stated did justice to more than four hundred rebels (Document 12). The government
justified themselves by blaming the executions on hostile acts against the state
conspiracy and counter revolutionary opinions (Document 3), which only led to the
French people questioning the reasons and filing complaints. A public opinion report
to the government stated, Bitter complaints already expressed numberless times,
were repeated today of the arrest and imprisonment of citizens (Document 8).
Maximilien Robespierre s former ally, Camille Desmoulins, stated, Could you make a
single man perish on the scaffold without making ten enemies for yourself from his
family or his friends? (Document 6). The French government treated their citizens as
inferior and silenced the voices that expressed concern or ideas that went against the
government s beliefs. The government had confidence that their ways of running their
country was politically correct; however, their politics were just dragging the citizens
of France to their tombstones. As a result, it gained the attention from the oppressed
citizens of France that decided to take arms against

Dog Food Allergies Essay
Feeding your dog the right food has always been a challenge for any dog owner.
Dogs are just like people, since they have specific preferences with tastes and
reactions to certain foods. One of the primary concerns when feeding your dog is
dog food allergies and what can cause them.
When you first get a new dog, it is always important to get a full medical exam
performed so that you know what is wrong with him or her, if anything. Typical tests
can be performed to determine what types of dog food allergies your dog has so that
you know what you can and cannot feed him. This can be very helpful when planning
out your pet s diet and what to shop for initially.
Some long time dog owners are surprised that after several years, their dog develops

There should be plenty of information online for each product at the brand s website
to determine what the potential side effects are of your dog consuming the various
ingredients. This will help you determine if you may need to worry about possible
dog food allergies arising as a result.
Dog food allergies can affect any dog. One major type of allergy that is sometimes
widespread in certain breeds is a problem with consuming grains. A lot of the lower
quality dog foods are packed with meaningless carbohydrates that do not give your
dog ample nutrients to lead an ultra healthy life. These foods are not harmful to
him, but the more you feed your dog higher quality foods with meat, fish or chicken,
the better off he should be. Protein is generally a positive for dogs to intake, since it
gives them increased energy and helps them metabolize faster as well.
All in all, you shouldn t worry too much about dog food allergies, but always be
cognizant that they can occur at any time. It s more about being careful and making
sure your dog is eating a well balanced diet that he or she enjoys. Naturally, one of
your biggest concerns will always be keeping your pet
The Struggle Between Katniss And President Snow In The...
Director Gary Ross chose to foreshadow the feud between Katniss and President
Snow in the first movie to successfully entices viewers to return to the following
movies. In the series, President Snow and Katniss develop a distrust, with President
Snow gunning to get Katniss after she manipulates the Gamemakers to allow both
her and Peeta to win the games. Yet there is only one instance of this in the novel,
and that is when Katniss is crowned by Snow who unforgivingly glares at her
(Collins 364). While this is subdued in the book, it is brought to the forefront in the
movie. The movie shows many scenes of Snow glaring at Katniss, such as in the
chariot ride, the crowning moment, and after Katniss gets home. The movie ends
with Snow watching... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By subduing the bloodbath in the Cornucopia by showing the murderers rather
than the victims, the film is able to obtain the optimal rating for the audience.
When lessening Katniss s violence in the games, Katniss is a more parent friendly
hero that allows for a more accepting audience. Both of these lead to more profit in
the short run with the first movie, but in order to remain successful for the rest of
the franchise, profits needed to be steady in future films. This lead the director to
add scenes of rebellion and scenes of Snow and Katniss in order to foreshadow
future films to draw viewers back. Yet if Ross wanted to make the most profit, he
needed to foster an understanding of Katniss by having Katniss make narrations in
pivotal moments. If he had done that, the viewers would have understood her acts
of violence. The Hunger Games movie and book both strike a balance between the
value of violence and the values violence destroys. Yet the movie makes it more
evident that the values, such as Katniss as a hero, are not destroyed by violence. By
lessening the violence, the movie is an acceptable film for young teenagers to see.
This was intentional, and it helped make the film and the franchise as successful as it

Branagh s Soliloquy In Hamlet
A famous part of the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare is the soliloquy in which
Hamlet himself proclaims, To be or not to be that is the question. Here the reader
sees Hamlet for the truly unstable and confused man he is. Also, the reader is able
to compare Shakespeare s version of the soliloquy to the production of it by actor
Kenneth Branagh. Seeing both the video clip and the text, allows the reader to
experience a deeper overall meaning than just one medium by itself. In the Folger s
edition of Hamlet, the soliloquyis in Act 3 Scene 1 where Claudius is realizing the
true threat that Hamlet is towards him. Hamlet is slipping into a state of haze
where the more he knows about other people s actions, the more he will think and
be in his head. Hamlet is thinking about the actions of his uncle who killed his
father and the presence of the ghost, wondering if it would be better for him to die

Kenneth Branagh proclaims his lines while staring directly into a mirror. The
crazed look in his eyes as he debates whether it is better to live or to die,
exemplifies how unsteady Hamlet is. Furthermore, he intensifies the scene by
pulling out a dagger and swirling it around his head. It is almost as if he is toying
with death, knowing that stabbing himself with the dagger could cause him to die.
The viewer is able to see that Hamlet is not completely there and that he is
overtaken by his madness. Alone, the scene is very influential and lets the readers
see how the text plays out. Pairing the text with this scene gives an image of the
emotions Hamlet could have been feeling. It puts more into the overall presentation
of the soliloquy by making it more real life as if one was seeing it as a play. Every
actor chooses a different way to portray this scene but Kenneth Branagh decided to

As the story develops in The Flying Circus, the diction being used in the story
changes. All of the characters seem to have a greater and more optimistic outlook
on life by the end of the novel, which is apparent through the words chosen to
describe their emotions and actions. In the beginning, most of the word usage
describes the loss, pain, and fear that Henry is feeling. An example of the gloomy
and dark tone that is present at the beginning of the story is when the author states,
his insides were full of slithering black snakes of dread (Crandall, p.182). But, as
the story progresses, there is a noticeable change in tone, as Henry becomes more
hopeful about his future as opposed to merely running from his past. Even with
small things such as descriptions or observations, the tone seems lighter by the end
of the story, just as Henry continues to build a fulfilling life and supportive family
around him. This helps develop the theme that a sense of belonging can be
discovered in the most unlikely places, as you wouldn t expect that Henry could
achieve such prosperity based on his situation at the beginning of the novel. In the
end, though, he finds a sense of belonging in the family that Mercury s Daredevils

Describe your personality using a color, animal, or an object of your choice.
If I had to describe myself as an animal, I would choose a dog. Surprisingly, I didn t
just choose this because I like dogs. Don t get me wrong dogs are fantastic; but I
chose a dog because of its characteristics. Everyone knows about that little dog that
barks louder than any dog on the block. That dog is me; except lucky for you I don

might seem intimidating, but once you come closer and get to know me you ll

Furthermore, I am passionate about being able to provide for my parents when I

during the past 16 years. Another passionate concern I have is being able to help

During my senior year, I would like to see myself grow through my contributions to

Big Brother s Language In The Book 1984 By George Orwell
The passage on pages 80 and 81 is significant because it shows how if Big Brother is
able to make everyone believe the most simple fact is different than what they know
to be true, then he can change any piece of information without opposition. By using
the fear of what happens when people go against Big Brother and the government,
they can make people believe two plus two equals five (80). Everyone knows two
plus two equals four, it s one of the most basic facts and can be proven on our
fingers. If Big Brother announces that two plus two equals five, everyone will be
forced, through fear, to believe it to be true. Even though they can prove two plus
two equals equals four with their fingers, the fear Big Brother instills in them makes

To be able to control what the populous does, Big Brother has set up telescreens
and cameras everywhere in the non Prole parts of Oceania, specifically in people s
homes, that allow him and his government to watch all party members movements
and words. This surveillance allowed Big Brother to control the populous because
everyone lived from habit that became instinct in assumption that every sound you
made was heard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized (3). By
forcing everyone to live knowing that everything they did was being watched, Big
Brother was able to restrict the actions and conversations of the people. People
tend to act differently if they knew they were alone compared to if they knew they
were being watched. This is because when you are being watched, you feel the need
to act more appropriate and not do anything that could be considered weird. The
reason the people of Oceania were to be controlled to the point of seeming like sheep,
was because of the fear that was instilled through the Thought Police. Just being
watched can partially control someone s actions due to them not wanting to seem
weird, but by placing an inescapable death penalty on anyone that acts up, Big
Brother can control them with their fear of death. This fear that
The Rise Of Communism In Vietnam
Spark of the Vietnam War due to President Kennedy s assassination.
Since World War II, the United States has been fighting to get rid of communism
throughout the war. However, it was not until the war broke out in the southeast, that
the American government really began to fear the growing communist parties. The
Vietnam War began in 1954, and it was a war between Southern communist Vietnam
and Northern Vietnam. It was not until 1965, when America decided to go into
Vietnam. Majority of Americans opposed going into Vietnam for several years;
however, their opinions quickly changed after communist Lee Harvey Oswald, with
the help of communist Cuban Prime Minister Fidel Castro, shot and Killed President

Summary Of Formation By Anne Moody
These lyrics symbolize power of black women and it proves that as women we
have the ability to get in formation and set free from the growing cultural standards
and turn out to be successful while being leaders. BeyoncГ©, one of the most
highly recognized black women of our time is a model of how black women are
looked at in the media. As a society, we are so used to looking at celebrities and
models and we forget what the average womanlooks like and from there we continue
to stereotype and pick a part things that are wrong with black women. In turn, we are
degrading their identity and I think Formation does a good job by reenacting a black
society and the troubles that we go through.

Plessy Vs Ferguson Analysis
1. Plessy v. Ferguson was decided after a period of time where African Americans
were granted more rights and freedoms under the law. During Reconstruction (1865
1877), African Americans were allowed to hold public office and vote. Some areas of
the South had African American communities that were economically sufficient.
After reconstruction ended, the white man s government resumed upon the
withdrawal of Northern troops and the assistance of the Freedmen s Bureau. Jim
Crow laws were passed that placed African Americans in a second class citizenship.
This flip flop between no rights (slavery), Reconstruction era rights, and no rights
again (Jim Crow) is justifiably frustrating.
The frustration with separate but equal 1896 continued until 1954 when the Brown v.
BOE. 1954 marks the beginning of the contemporary Civil Rights Movement. During
this time conditions in the South had come to the point of separate but equal was
blatantly not equal and social justice organizations like the NAACP were pushing
harder for justice not only with segregation but all aspects of injustice in American
life. There hadn t been a legitimate enforcement of the equal protection clause of the

Law and the implication of justice are not out of the reach of everchanging societal
conditions. The changing racial climate of both years did affect the court s decisions.
Both cases have an argument grounded in the equal protection clause of the 14th
amendment. Is the required use of separate facilities by members of different races in
violation of the 14th amendment of the US Constitution? African Americans in 1896
were not seen as full citizens but as second class citizens whose facilities should
reflect their second class status. Simply put, the court rationalized the
constitutionality of separate but equal by saying that legislation cannot change public
perception and that the state had power to do what is best for public

Compare And Contrast Peare And George Washington
Everybody knows something about the American Revolution. But how many people
know about the eerily similar, yet drastically different Irish Easter Rising and
subsequent revolution? Causes, leaders, battles, treaties, resolutions, and effects are a
part of every country. Sometimes they are similar, and other times not, as is the case
with America and Ireland. Padraig Pearse and George Washington were both elected
commander in chief over armies. Neither of them had ever commanded large armies
before, although Washington had commanded squadrons. They both also lost more
battles than they won. However, the similarities mostly end here. The outcome was
the most different. Washington won, after a long struggle. Pearse eventually
surrendered, saving countless lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the Irish leaders were writers, poets, or scholars with little to no military
training. In contrast, the Americans had a lot of trained and capable leaders. These
drastically different leaders had drastically different effects on the Revolutions.
Washington s unique military tactics won the American Revolution, starting when he
had the idea to cross the Delaware. And Pearse, although he lost, went down in
history for his bravery when faced with insurmountable odds. One of Pearse s most
famous quotes reads They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they
have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think they have
foreseen everything, think that they provided against everything; but the fools, the
fools, the fools! they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these
graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. This quote meant much more after the
executions of sixteen Irish rebel commandants than it did when it was first said at
Jeremiah O Donovan Rossa s funeral. It gave hope to young revolutionaries and

The State Of Emergency And Urban Californians

In 2012 and 2013 Klamath County on the Southern Oregon border declared a
drought in April, after a string of fortunate years of heavy rain and snow. In 2014, a
drought emergency was declared in February, two months earlier than in 2013, and
in 2015 drought was again declared for the county in April( United State Geological
Survey 2015). These successive drought declarations are not surprising to anyone
who was following the Western water crisisduring those years, where the governor of
California declared a state of emergency and urban Californians were mandated to
find ways to cut their water consumption drastically . In 2012, 10,000 avian
mortalities were reported in the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges because
of the shut off of water facilities that support wetland habitat for migratory species
(Learn 2012.) During those dry years, an article titled Birds are Dying As Drought
Ravages Avian Highways ran in National Geographic, featuring Lower Klamath
National Wildlife Refuge and putting the struggle of its bird species in a regional
context, as long distance flyers found fewer and fewer refuges with the water
resources to maintain them( Kay 2015). It was these shocking statistics that first
attracted me, as a birder, to the basin as an area of study. However, as I began to
wade into the history of the basin and its complicated local politics, I soon realized
that I could not disentangle the issues experienced by wildlife and wildlife managers

The Strategies And Weaknesses For The Star Cruises

order to develop and mature in the world, one must be open to new experiences and
try new things, or face the harsh reality of missing out on all potential opportunities

Every mobile app development company includes digital marketing tools in their app.
A good example is the single push button with which you can send posts to all the

The suggestion will hold water as other participants will take it as a non biased

3.Email marketing
Digital advertisers send marketing emails to people that have subscribed for their
newsletters. However, before each mail is sent, there will be some profiling. The
people who may need the product are then filtered out. For instance, if the product is
ladies shoes, it will be sent to only ladies. And guys will be left out.
Email marketing has a lot of advantages. It is sent directly to only the intended
recipients. It is also about the most cost effective marketing techniques. Besides, you
can be able to track who received the mail and who didn t.
4.Google adwords
Google AdWords are keywords people are expected to type into Google search

supposed to link these keywords to relevant landing pages on your website. This

An Analysis on the Works Of Ida B. Wells Essay
In the words of Miss Ida B. Wells: The student of American sociology will find the
year of 1894 marked by a pronounced awakening of the public conscience to a
system of anarchy and outlawry which had grown during a series of ten years to be
so common, that scenes of unusual brutality failed to have any visible effect upon the
humane sentiments of the people of our land. She is depicting a period of time in
American history stained with the blood of hundreds of free African Americanmen,
women and children. These people were unjustly slaughtered through the practice of
lynchingwithin the South. Wells was an investigative journalist and was involved in
exploring, reporting, publishing literature on, and eventually campaigning against the

Twenty first century reporters fill the airwaves with news pertaining to facets of life
entirely opposite of awareness and activism. When news regarding anything aside
from the lives of celebrities or current pop culture does make the headlines, the story
seems presented in a watered down, somehow censored, fashion; leaving the reader
asking more questions than they received answered. As the major methods of mass
media become increasingly consumer driven, the great majority are presented with
less mentally stimulating material called news . As a result, Americans are often less
informed, and thus less willing to become involved in, political, social, and economic
issues, nation and worldwide. Through the application of relevant and straightforward
journalism, like that practiced by Ida B. Wells, the people of this country may be
armed with the knowledge needed to have an effect on the events unfolding today
that will affect tomorrow.
In each of her three bodies of work Wells takes time to carefully explain the
objective for the publication of the document while outlining a plan of action in
order to go about obtaining said objective. She maintains a universal purpose
throughout her campaign, which can simply be summarized as a desire to place the
facts before the American people and later before the world with her ultimate goal
being to intervene boldly

In large installations, the roaming functionality provided by multiple access points
enables wireless users to move freely throughout the facility while maintaining
uninterrupted access to the network (Cisco). The Apache Web server has a well
established group dedicated to the discussion, identification, and correction of any
security risk one might find in their software systems. By working with the dedicated
teams at the Apache project center one learns how to configure the product securely;
and find out if a published vulnerability applies to the version of the Apache product

product you are using; obtaining further information on a published vulnerability; the
availability of patches and/or new releases to address a published vulnerability

Adaptive Security Appliance for the most secure VNP connections connected to the
local network and the data stored within its boundaries. The greatest number of
complaints made about computers and computer programs are that they run slowly
and they produce inaccurate information. Research in technology is ongoing and
improvements in these areas are apparent. Patton Fuller is a full service, functioning

Project Management For A Project Manager Essay
Resources available to support the project manager In order to run a project, the
manager needs support with different things such as resources, tools and
methodologies. Project Resources In order to make a project, the project manager
needs some help with the project resources. Resources like information will be
useful to Feltram Solutions Inc. as current information is required in order to
develop new project and features of it. With the help of old/current information,
the manager can include new functions and acquire new information from it. For
example, the manager can transfer information like details of the customer or
stock into a new system. Resources like people, can be extremely helpful when
developing a project. For example, a project manager can direct the employees on
what to do and can give feedback to them. System analysts will collect information
from others and will make specification for the new system based on the
information. People like product developers help to develop the project by
investigating into more detail on what to develop by using the specification.
Programmers will create the project based on the specification and test it
afterwards. In order to create any project, some sort of equipment and facilities are
needed. This might include hardware, software, machines etc. If the organisation
does not have any sort of equipment, then they need to order and install it as soon as
possible or otherwise they won t be able to progress in making the
Wonderful Words Welcomed With Wedding Weight Loss
Essay
Wonderful Words Welcomed with Wedding Weight Loss In August 2012, Special
K cereal ran an advertisement in Brides magazine that featured a glowing bride
smiling radiantly whilst holding a bouquet of red roses. At first glance, her
wedding gown appears to be a traditional, white, mermaid style gown; however, if a
reader looks at the garment more closely, he or she will notice words discreetly
embedded into the fabric of the gown. These words are positive attributes that
people may gain if they lose weight. Special K often uses its slogan What will you
gain when you lose? , and did so in this advertisement. The advertisement is not for
only the cereal, but for a customized weight loss plan provided by Special K that
will presumably include buying Special K products. By using this weddinggown with
positive bonus effects of weight loss written on it in elegant letters, Special K
creates an effective weight loss advertisement. Kellogg s first introduced Special K
during the 1950s, and began the trend of high protein cereals that has continued
well into the beginning of the 21st century (A Historical Overview 2). Special K is
generally well known as a cereal that many people will eat whilst trying to lose
weight. When eaten correctly and in moderation, Special K can certainly be an
effective weight loss tool.
The words embedded on the dress include splendor , sophistication , grace ,
exhilaration , charm , elegance , happiness , sparkle , pride , and shine .

/More than a centre to this room (Jennings, TCP 64).
The difficulty of selfhood underpins the six part succession The Clown : gay/And
terrible at once (101) for his carnivalesque description of the relation of performer and
audience, conflating actual and enacted tragedy. A sense of social and emotional
separation is conformed in the putrid language of About These Things , which seems
to hint at the onset of the psychological difficulties which Jennings next collections
show.
Jennings work is inclined to be dismissed by critics such as A. Alvarez from his

New Poems 1954, and sometimes by Stevenson who suffered a breakdown in the
1960s. Jennings probes the short period of psychological illness which is reflected
in Recoveries (1964), The Mind Has Mountains (1966), The Animals Arrival
(1969) and Lucidities (1970). They make her 1960 assertion that: Poetry has
become a gesture of defiance, a plea for order in a universe of confession and
manmade chaos (Jennings, An Anthology of Modern Verse 8) seem distressing.
Jennings s nervous state seems to tell in her poems formalities. In the withered
world of Recoveries, childhood its central reference points, simple stanza forms
are regulated by painstaking rhyme schemes, lineation holding disorder at bay. A
more confessional mode increases only slowly. In Still Life and Observer , what
might be self scrutiny is deflected on to the male observer whose gaze balances the
objects /.../ Himself almost a still life (Jennings, TCP 166). The Mind has
Mountains is more female centered and overtly disempowered in spite of the clear
conversational idiom in poems such as A Depression and One Flesh . Her voice
remains self distancing. This is the reason why, in the context of psychiatric
treatment, dialogue proves generative as in the poems like The Interrogator , Lisa ,
Questions and Suicides . When self consciousness fall away with linguistic control,

Descriptive Essay On Christmas. Christmas Essay Christmas essay, Writing prompts for kids, Story ...

  • 1. Descriptive Essay On Christmas Crafting a descriptive essay on Christmas can be both a delightful and challenging endeavor. The task requires more than just weaving words; it demands the ability to evoke the festive spirit and the warmth associated with this special occasion. The challenge lies in capturing the essence of Christmas, transcending the superficial glitter and delving into the emotions, traditions, and unique experiences that make this holiday truly magical. Detailing the sights, sounds, and aromas of Christmas requires a keen observational skill and a knack for selecting words that paint vivid pictures in the reader's mind. You must navigate through the labyrinth of memories, trying to encapsulate the joyous moments, the laughter, the aroma of freshly baked cookies, the twinkling lights, and the cozy warmth that pervades the air during this time of year. However, the difficulty intensifies when attempting to convey the intangible aspects of Christmas – the emotions of togetherness, the sense of gratitude, and the spirit of giving. Translating these abstract feelings into a tangible and relatable narrative challenges even the most seasoned writers. Striking a balance between the festive cheer and the deeper, more meaningful aspects of Christmas can be akin to walking a tightrope. Moreover, the familiarity of the theme poses a unique challenge – how to present a fresh perspective on a topic that has been explored and celebrated by countless writers before. The risk of clichГ©s and predictable descriptions looms large, demanding creativity and a fresh angle to keep the reader engaged. In conclusion, writing a descriptive essay on Christmas involves more than just narrating events; it necessitates the ability to infuse the prose with the enchantment and significance that the holiday holds for individuals. It requires a delicate dance between nostalgia and innovation, tradition and uniqueness. While challenging, the endeavor promises a rewarding experience as it allows the writer to share the magic of Christmas through the power of words. For those seeking assistance in crafting such essays or exploring a variety of topics, a plethora of resources are available. Platforms like HelpWriting.net offer a range of writing services, providing tailored essays and much more. These services can be valuable for individuals looking to enhance their writing skills or seeking professionally crafted pieces on a diverse array of subjects. Even though these roles are hard to understand, they can give meaning to our life. In John s Steinbeck Of Mice and Men, we see these men s day to day lives, the main character; George takes care of his friend Lennie who has difficulties understanding the rules of the world we live in. Through the story there are many ups and downs mostly involving Lennie, who is trying to see through the eyes of George and to do and be as George is. In this passage , after Lennie shares with Crooks his plan to buy a farm with George and raise rabbits, Crooks tries to deflate Lennie s hopes which creates dangers that may lie beyond our understanding. He relates that hundreds of men have passed through the ranch, all of them with dreams like Lennie s. Not one of them, he emphasizes with bitterness, ever succeeds to make that dream come true. Crooks shows a sense of reality, telling again of Lennie s childlikeness , and that the dream of a farm is, after all, only a dream. This moment show s off Crook s character, and how a lifetime of loneliness and cruelty can lead to bitterness. It also furthers Steinbeck s disturbing thought s that those who have strength and power in the world are not the only ones responsible for cruelty. As Crooks shows, even though he was hurt by others, he seeked out Lennie and attacked him because he is even weaker than Crooks is. Sometimes in life we have difficulty in decisions that makes us question our morals even deeper our character.

It would accomplish this by utilizing a construction of 50% composite something never before attempted in the commercial aviation arena. In summary, Boeing was endeavoring to build a brand new clean sheet aircraft from materials never used, using methods never attempted, and using a supply chain more far reaching than ever experienced by the plane maker. In retrospect, it may be easy to see why the 787 has had so many problems. The problems are so large that Forbes was prompted to publish an article titled, What Went Wrong at Boeing. (Denning 2013) Boeing has worked through most of its supply chain woes and has delivered over 60 787s to date. Boeing is now designing a next generation version of its supremely popular 777, the 777 8/9. Boeing s desire to reduce costs and production time by relying risk taking suppliers to design and produce major aircraft components has led to many failures and cost overruns in the 787 program. Both of these lead to more profit in the short run with the first movie, but in order to remain successful for the rest of the franchise, profits needed to be steady in future films. This is because when you are being watched, you feel the need to act more appropriate and not do anything that could be considered weird. The reason the people of Oceania were to be controlled to the point of seeming like sheep, was because of the fear that was instilled through the Thought Police. Just being watched can partially control someone s actions due to them not wanting to seem weird, but by placing an inescapable death penalty on anyone that acts up, Big Brother can control them with their fear of death. This fear that

  • 25. Plessy Vs Ferguson Analysis 1. Plessy v. Ferguson was decided after a period of time where African Americans were granted more rights and freedoms under the law. During Reconstruction (1865 1877), African Americans were allowed to hold public office and vote. Some areas of the South had African American communities that were economically sufficient. After reconstruction ended, the white man s government resumed upon the withdrawal of Northern troops and the assistance of the Freedmen s Bureau. Jim Crow laws were passed that placed African Americans in a second class citizenship. This flip flop between no rights (slavery), Reconstruction era rights, and no rights again (Jim Crow) is justifiably frustrating. The frustration with separate but equal 1896 continued until 1954 when the Brown v. BOE. 1954 marks the beginning of the contemporary Civil Rights Movement. During this time conditions in the South had come to the point of separate but equal was blatantly not equal and social justice organizations like the NAACP were pushing harder for justice not only with segregation but all aspects of injustice in American life. Is the required use of separate facilities by members of different races in violation of the 14th amendment of the US Constitution? African Americans in 1896 were not seen as full citizens but as second class citizens whose facilities should reflect their second class status. Simply put, the court rationalized the constitutionality of separate but equal by saying that legislation cannot change public perception and that the state had power to do what is best for public
