Essay On Oahu
1. Essay On Oahu
Living on Oahu is a mixed bag because while we all get to enjoy the otherworldly beauty of the
island we also have to live with the high prices that are a consequence of living in a major tourist
destination. Luckily, if you know where to look, which we do, there are actually a lot of free things
to do here! It's no secret that Oahu is an awesome place to take advantage of free outdoor activities,
and a lot of them go way beyond a typical day at the beach. The Waikiki Historic Trail is a great free
outing. The perfectly preserved walking paths wind through 23 different historical sites and each
attraction is accompanied by a descriptive surfboard marker that explains the significance of the site.
The path is even and easy with proximity shopping and restaurants along the way so it's a great
choice for families with kids or elderly. Another great free outing for history buffs is a trip to Pearl
Harbor and a walk by the stately USS Arizona National Memorial. You can step even further back in
time with a visit to Oahu's largest Hawaiian Temple, Pu'u o Mahuka Heiau, which was dates back to
the 1600s and is free to visitors thanks to its affiliation with the Hawaii State Parks system. If
history isn't your thing you might enjoy a hike that's far from the tourist crowds and steeped in the
lush natural beauty of the island. Some of the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

3. Analysis Of The Poem ' Sasuke '
"Sasuke!" A girl with long blonde hair tied back in two pigtails wearing a long white dress cried.
Her wide cerulean eyes wavered as her lover walked toward her. "What are you doing here? You
know you can 't be here." She said, stepping forward slightly. She stared into the eyes of the man in
front of her. His raven hair framing his pale face, that glistened in the moonlight.
Sasuke reached out his hand, taking her hand in his own. He crouched on one knee, and kissed the
girl 's hand lightly. "I will never leave your side, no matter the danger, Naruko." Naruko frowned,
feeling the emotions and hearing his thoughts. She fell to her knees, still holding on to Sasuke 's
hand.
"But you must! It 's too dangerous here!" She cried.

Iruka gave him a look. He sighed, shaking his head.
"All right, Naruto, I heard you 're planning on moving out." Iruka said. Naruto 's eyes widened. His

7. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Friend Essay
Many people define what friend is by their own definition such as a person attached to another by
feelings of affection or personal regard or people who are aware of how retarded you are and still
manage to be seen in public with you. people who make you laugh till you pee your pants. people
who cry for you when one of your special items disappear. when you dont have enough money to
get a ice cream, they chip in. knows all of your internet passwords. People who would never make
you cry just to be mean. For me, friend is someone who accept the way you are, someone who
always cheer you up, someone who always support you no matter your condition is. There are also

because your friend have the same personality with you. But, if you just have friend that similar to
you, you will never try new things that maybe also wonderful. Everything would be bored for you
because you always do the same thing and try the same thing. For example, you like to eat ramen

taste and habit, you always eat ramen there. You never try to eat ramen in other restaurants like

I spent a few of my engagement hours spending time with the students from the Digital Hollywood
University. I learned quite a lot while engaging with them, discussing all sorts of things from generic
cultural and religious rituals done in Japan and education to the Yakuza and evolutionary history.
What I most enjoyed from this experience was the level of understanding; the understanding of
intercultural differences between me and the students. We didn't go over a lot of expressions, but I
learned several things that are commonly done in Japan. For instance, I learned that people are
always busy and they like to keep to themselves and I learned how to make authentic teriyaki

The Japanese This world we live in has so many beautiful cultures. It was hard to pick one to
research. My friend Peter was the closest foreign culture I thought of. We have been friends for
more than four years and I realized he knew more about my culture than I knew about his, so
decided to use this opportunity to get to know him better. Peter discussed intersecting topics about
the education, rules, religion, and rituals of the Japanese culture. One of the first topics my friends
started talking about was about how important is education. He believes that the Japanese
educational structure is kind of like a competition. This makes students, especially in prestigious
schools, to make important measures for university entrance examinations. He was telling me that a
lot of teenagers aspire to go to a four–year school after high school. About 40 percent of the total
number of high school graduates go to a four–year university, junior colleges it's about 10 percent,
and 30 percent attend vocational schools (Sugimoto 119). My friend mentioned that where it starts
to get competitive is in middle school. Students are expected to learn a considerable amount of
material to reach the levels demanded by the examinations of high schools and universities.
Education in japan is so serious that there is a big business in tutoring schools. These important
schools are called juku schools. These after school coaching schools have great successes because of

21. Allusive Idioms from Greek Myths and English Learning
Introduction
In my opinion, it is no exaggeration to say that Greek myths have exerted no small influence upon
western culture. Especially those whose mother tongue is English familiar with the contents and
stories of Greek mythology have been imperceptibly influenced by what they constantly read, see
and hear about since they are very young. Hence allusive idioms from Greek myths have exerted
great impact on the English language and literature. It is fairly important to make a full
understanding of Greek myths for a foreign student in order to learn the language of English well.
To prove this, I may as well, first of all, introduce some information about Greek myths in the next
part. 2. Clearing the ground

27. Persuasive Speech On Fast Food
In life, one needs three things: food, shelter, and clothing. I have found that it is hard enough to eat a
well rounded, appetizing meals in day–to–day life. This difficulty is increased when I am often on
the go and do not have time to make a healthy meal. It sometimes feels like it can boil down to fast
food out or microwaving frozen dinners at home. I struggled with this until I started learning how to
cook wholesome meals for myself. Once I started beginning to cook for myself, I fell in love with
Asian cuisine. I believe some of my biggest draws to this cuisine were the diversity in flavor
options, the easiness to combine protein and vegetables on one plate, and the limited time required
to prepare a meal. Today I would like to share with you how to make my favorite meal, Stir Fry. The
first step to making stir fry is to go to the grocery store and get the ingredients you need. Generally
when I go grocery shopping, I prefer to buy my produce and meats from a local farmer's market or
produce stand. Buying meats and produce locally result in fresher product and less pesticides in
one's food. If you are not in a position to buy your groceries from a local farmer's market, do not
fret; other food stores offer an array of products to choose. When you go shopping, you will need an
assortment of vegetables, a protein of choice, stir fry sauce, and rice or noodles for a base. The base
of your vegetables should be made of bell peppers and onions. The best peppers for a stir fry

only was it something I was interested in, but also because I needed money. I spend a lot of money
going out. When I first started my junior year of high school some of my friends were able to get
jobs so I was even more motivated to get one myself. So one year ago I applied for a job at Genki
Sushi. I went to the interview and they told me I was too young to apply because they serve alcohol
at their restaurants. After that I was pretty sad that I didn't get the job and had to go back to square
one and look for another one. It took me months to find a job that I wanted, and a lot of applications.
I finally found a job after a long search and it felt right applying for this job. I wanted experience
from my first job so I would be able to apply for more bigger corporations. The job I applied for was
a fairly new and served tasty sukiyaki bowls. Every time my rrestaurant was on the radio I knew that
the grand opening was going to be huge. My boss hired about five people and I really enjoyed
working with them. About a month before the grand opening we all went under training and was
taught how to prep, cook, cashier, and clean for the grand opening. I thought it was a fairly easy job
because I was able to do all of that and learn it with no problem. All of my co
workers seem to know
what they're doing so I was confident that we would do well in the business. The one thing was that

41. Comparison Of Food In Tampopo And Eat Drink Man Woman
According to a famous Chinese proverb, "Foods are the most important to the people (民以食为
天)". Specifically, food is an important element in Tampopo by Juzo Itami and Eat Drink Man
Woman by Ang Lee because it can be related to work and pleasure. With regard to food as work or
pleasure, there are three essential levels. In the first level, food is primarily work. Cooking food as
an occupation is shown in both films, where the characters obtain no pleasure from the food itself
directly. For the second level, food is presented as a tool to enhance sensual pleasure, which
includes gustatory enjoyment, personal indulgences, sexual pleasure, and mental relaxation. In the
third level, food can be seen as both work and pleasure at the same time; it is a balance between the
two extremes. Reflected in the movie Tampopo and Eat Drink Man Woman, food can be seen as
work and also a tool to enhance sensual pleasure, depending on different characters' individual
interpretation of food's function. In the following paper, specific examples from the movie Tampopo
and Eat Drink Man Woman will be discussed. In the film Tampopo, the concept of food as work is
depicted in the story of Tampopo attempting to create the best ramen noodle restaurant and in the
story of a group of older businessmen attempting to negotiate a business deal through dining in an
upscale French restaurant. Food as both work and pleasure is depicted in the story of the young man
accompanying the older businessmen as he orders the fanciest French dishes despite being the
lowest level worker in the group. Contrastingly, the concept of food as pleasure is discussed in the
story of a group of women learning to eat spaghetti properly, the story of a man suffering from a
severe toothache because of excessive enjoyment of food, and the story of the man in white suit who
uses food as a method to stimulate sexual pleasure. In the movie Eat Drink Man Woman, food for
Old Chu is work since he is a chef for his entire life. Differently, food for the second daughter, Jia–
Chien, is pleasure as she revels in the process of cooking. These examples display how food can be
regarded as work, pleasure, or both in multiple ways.

Traditional Japanese cuisine is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes, with an emphasis on
seasonal ingredients. Side dishes often include; fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in
broth. Fish is commonly served grilled but can also be served raw as sashimi or in sushi. Seafood
and vegetables are also deep–fried in light batter as tempera. Apart from rice, important foods
include noodles such as soba and udon. The five most important ingredients are; 1. Rice. There are
two main types of rice. Uruchimai which is slightly sticky and is used for sushi and most japanese
rice dishes and Mochigome is a more sticky variety of rice that is used for mochi and mochi–like
foods. 2. Shoyu. Shoyu (soy sauce) adds another dimension to taste known as umami. 3. Dashi. A
type of Japanese soup, sauce cooking stock with umami flavor that's critical to countless Japanese

A single under–cabinet light in the kitchen provided all of the light in this part of the house. It was a
small but orderly place – the area around the front door was lower and still slightly damp from when
she had come in. It entered directly into a modest carpeted living area, with carpet and couches on
the right, and a kind of lounge on the left, separated from the kitchen further back by a counter. A
path in the middle lead further towards a narrow hallway, with doors on the left and right, the latter
of which was to the room she had used. There was nothing on the walls besides heavy blue curtains

There was something else in another room, the one at the end of the hall.
It was regular – consistent, like a sphere. Soft all the way through. She shuffled further back into the
chair and concentrated. It was consistent on the outside, but inside it was something else, some kind
of element or maze of elements. It was inaccessible, visible only through faint densities rolling
outward from the center, there was some kind of insulation around it. Inside, it was complex, the
heat was moving through the elements in strange paths. It was not arbitrary, there was a pattern – or
patterns – quick, rapid, then pulsed, then broken up, representations of something else. Inside, the
further in she went, the hotter it was, much too hot, it seemed to twist. She tugged at the heat, but it
remained stubborn; the boundaries of its pattern made more clear by her attempts to influence it. It
held at fixtures, remained constant within tolerances. She tugged again, suppressing one of the
strange elements, and the heat reacted, redirected – but the redirection was physical, mechanical, it
was a physical readjustment, not mechanical one. She drew back, and the element returned to its
prior state.
The heat did not flow down, the floor beneath the source was almost as cool as the rest of the house.

Inakaya Watanabe is a Japanese Restaurant hiding in 655 Saint Andrews Rd, Columbia, SC 29210.
Standing there since 1995 (Inakaya Watanabe,) it has made a name to people nearby and their
friends and family. Inakaya has many different delicious Japanese food, however it is most renown
by its delicious sushi. Although Inakaya has similar menus that match with other competitors, they
still have an extra spot where they serve sushi in the traditional way.
The sushi served traditionally are usually with fewer sauce than those that are American style sushi,
also in the beginning sushi was made with fresh fish and without any sign of fried food. So it gives
out a fresh and cool taste, which somehow doesn't fit with the American taste. So usually when
going out to buy sushi you see how many are sauced deeply or with fried food in the sushi.
Inakaya is a small restaurant hiding away from the road, so if you don't look for it many will miss it.
Also, because the owner didn't do much advertising it can go unnoticed. How I know of this

65. It Speaks With Authority In The Scarlet Letter By...
"A quotation in a speech, article or book is like a rifle in the hands of an infantryman. It speaks with
authority." The Scarlet Letter – Nathaniel Hawthorne "When he found the eyes of Hester Prynne
fastened on his own, and saw that she appeared to recognize him, he slowly and calmly raised his
finger, made a gesture with it in the air, and laid it on his lips." (Hawthorne 92–3). This quote
reflects the overall theme because when we look at the novel and the story, it all revolves around
secrecy and hiding the truth. This quote is from where keeping secrets begin. Hester Prynne, the
main character has committed adultery by cheating on her husband, Roger Chillingworth (who was
away) with Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale. Hester has been caught because she couldn't hide her
pregnancy which led to punishment. While she is out on public display to be shamed, her husband
comes into town. Now, no one knows who her husband is, they just knew she was married. As for
Roger, he does not want anyone to know that he's the husband. So when he sees Hester and she sees
him, he puts his finger on his lips so she knows to not say anything. Then, all throughout the book,
the Author is trying to hide that he's the father of the child and that he's the one who committed
adultery with her. The quote is the start and the theme of the book. The raising of the finger to his
lips is the sign of secrecy and from then on, it's a battle between keeping the truth hidden and letting
the truth and consequences get out. The secrets are what causes everything in the book to spiral out
and happen the way they did. Their secrets have consequences. Beloved – Toni Morrison "That's
what they came in there for. Held me down and took it. I told Mrs. Garner on em. She had that lump
and couldn't speak but her eyes rolled out tear. Them boys found out I told on em, School teacher
made one open my back and when it closed, it made a tree. It grows there still." (Morrison 16–7 )
One of the reasons as to why Beloved was written was to reveal the horrors of slavery and what it
can do to a person. This quote perfectly reflects that; it describes what Sethe, the main character,
went through as being a former slave. Sethe attempted to kill and killed her two

Also, the mothers consider motherhood to be highly valued and is considered the most important

73. Persuasive Speech : The Value Of A College Education
College Arc
If there is one rhetoric that every child is taught nowadays is the value of a college education. We
are told it's the only way to guarantee your future, I'm here to tell you it's the truth. College has such
a tremendous value that employers will drop their mouths in awe of your internship and piece of
paper, that you call your degree. They see hundreds of resumes just like yours a year, but you're you,
so diversification is not required to stay competitive. Afterall, It's not like 83% of graduates end up
in a career outside their major. So diversification like traveling the world, learning about the real
world, and studying real–world subjects, isn't necessary to get your foot in the door of your chosen
career path. Why would you want your resume to say world traveler when it could say down and out
graduate.
Although college has a tremendous value, for some of us we see value as a contrived concept, in that
respect going to college just to accumulate thousands of dollars in debt is arbitrary. What these
people don't realize is that 44 million people in the USA have student loan debt, each with an
average debt of $37,172, if you aren't accumulating thousands of dollars of debt you are outside of a
trend, therefore you are a loser. Given this fact why would you ever consider any other possibility
than going to college, graduating, and grinding away at your debt? You might think you are going to
be miserable in college, and that misery breeds failure, but I'm here to tell you that if you don't have
thousands of dollars in debt you will look at your at your friends who do with envy. Yes, you could
travel the world for a year or more, but why would you do something so stupid, reckless, or even
life–changing, when you could be stuck in a job grinding away at unbearable debt. Forget about
passion, that's childish, gather all your friends and jump off the student debt bridge.
I don't believe that it can be denied that college and travel both are great tools for teaching
independence. In college, you learn to do so many things that your mother was already doing for
you. You learn how to do your own laundry, cook your own meals, go to bed and wake up on your
own, and a semblance financial independence.
