Essay on Salivary Gland Tumors
INTRODUCTION: Salivary gland tumors are a morphologically diverse group of neoplasms,
which may present considerable diagnostic and management challenges for the pathologist and
surgeon. Salivary gland tumors are rare with an overall incidence in the western world of about
2.5 to 3.0 per 100,000 per year. About 80% of all lesions are benign; hence salivary malignancies
are particularly rare, comprising less than 0.5% of all malignancies and about 5% of cancers in
the head and neck. (1) Most of the studies on salivary gland tumors are in reference to western
population and to the best of our knowledge this study is the first of its kind in Indian population.
In this study, salivary gland neoplasms were retrospectively studied... Show more content on

Immunohistochemical analysis for smooth muscle actin (SMA) was done and the intensity of
staining and staining location were considered. RESULTS: A total of 1855 biopsy specimens
were accessioned at our biopsy services during the study period (2002 2006). In this period, 37
cases were salivary gland neoplasms accounting to 1.99% of all biopsy specimens accessioned.
Of 37 cases, 11 were benign neoplasms (29.72%) and 26 were malignant (70.27%). The common
tumors overall was Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) and Muco epidermoid carcinoma (MEC) (Table
1). Of 37 cases, 9 cases occurred in major salivary glands, with eight occurrences in the parotid
region 1 PA, 1 Adenolymphoma 6 Acinic cell adenocarcinoma (AcADCC) and one in
submandibular region 1 Polymorphous low grade adenocarcinoma (PLGA). Of 37 cases, 28
cases occurred in minor salivary glands, with palate being the most commonly affected site by
both benign (63.63%) and malignant tumors (58%). Males represented 54% of the affected
patients, and certain tumors showed a strong male predilection, like MEC (6/10), PLGA (2/2),
Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) (5/8), Adenolymphoma (1/1); in contrast, some tumors such as
PA (7/10), Acinic cell carcinoma (4/6) showed a female predilection. The mean age for malignant
tumors in females (40.6 years) was lower than

Jim Coleman Community Services Case Study
Shortly after revitalization in 1994, one of the very first major projects the Edmonton Metcalfe
County Chamber of Commerce established was a community service award. After some
investigation it was learned that most communities bestowed some type of annual award on at least
one of its deserving citizens. After much deliberation, the chamber board of directors at that time,
decided to establish the Jim C. Coleman Community Service Award to honor a Metcalfe County
person who closely exemplified the service orientation of the late Jim C. Coleman. It is thought
that Jim Coleman would have been delighted to have the late Father George K. Bowling to receive
the very first award named in his memory. Several noteworthy community leaders who received

As With Any Other Comparative Analysis, This Essay Will
As with any other comparative analysis, this essay will discuss the similarities between two
elements. The elements in this situation are the Republic of Ireland and the United States of
America. The three specific ways that these two countries can be compared are via: economic and
political outlook, social and cultural issues, and resources and work culture. Additionally, each
country is known throughout the world. Primarily because of their business structure. The first
factor that will be addressed is economic and political outlook. To begin one will address the
political outlook of these two countries, and with that comes the form of government. Both are
republics. With the United Statesbeing a constitutional federal... Show more content on

1). Their duty is to speak to the government on behalf of a community and/or state. In the judicial
branch, both countries have a Supreme Court ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1).
Whose role is to hear legal cases of significant magnitude to the country and/or its citizens. One
key difference is that in Ireland the judges in the Supreme Court cannot serve past age 70 ,
whereas in the United States the judges are appointed for life ( The World Factbook: IRELAND
, 2017, Pg. 1). Hence, the age of justices varies between these two republics. These three major
branches of government can also overlap at times to provide a peaceful resolution or to resolve
active disputes. Now for the economic outlook of these two countries. This comparing, and
contrasting segment is more difficult than the political outlook. Since, these two countries do vary
quite significantly in terms of population and size. For instance, Ireland s population as of July
2016 was just below five million, which is incomparable to the roughly 324 million United States
population ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). That means the Irish population could
be added about 65 times to reach the American population. However, these two nations do have
some similarities. First, both countries rely heavily on technology to propel their economic growth
and expansion. For Ireland has a talented pool of high tech laborers and

Descriptive Essay On Elkton
Elkton, Kentucky is a tiny, rural town that juts off of Highway 68. The heart of the town is the
former courthouse. Its steeple shoots proudly into the sky, displaying a clock of dubious
accuracy. Old, brick storefronts form a square around the courthouse, broken only by four streets
extending from the square. When I was young, riding in the backseat, I knew every detail of those
streets. There was a movie rental store, with posters I always strained to read; a tiny library whose
young adult section I had thoroughly explored; and a thrift store where I bought fifty cent stuffed
animals. Elkton was small, but I never thought I would need anything more. In my young mind, it
was the only townthat existed. Elkton was my world. I turned thirteen the week my family moved
out. With typical youthful energy, I was ecstatic. I never looked back to the little white house; I only
looked forward to the beige colored apartment that, I bragged, was only five minutes from the mall.

As I paid my visits to Elkton, a new town revealed itself. Elkton was dying. The sign on the
hardware store had fallen on one side, the movie store had bankrupted and closed, and the tiny
library was a pathetic joke. I never went back to the thrift store, I had thrown away my stuffed
animals long ago, and the place stank of cheap cigarettes. Worst of all, the little house I had once
lived in was dead and vacant. Weeds almost swallowed the For Sale sign at the road, and a green
film grew over the siding. To me, Elkton reeked of decay and hopelessness. I hated the

Clarkson Lumber Case Analysis Essay
Statement of the Problem
At first glance, Clarkson Lumber appears to be a healthy company. However, despite rapid growth
and increasing sales Clarkson Lumber finds itself searching for additional funding to compensate
for a shortage in cash to fund its expanding business. Clarkson Lumber is in this situation for a
number of reasons.
The company s inability to receive payments from customers in a timely manner created a severe
impact in the company s cash flows. The age of account receivables increased each year. In 1995
it took 49 days on average to receive payments from customers. Because of the delay in accounts
receivable, Clarkson Lumber s ability to pay suppliers on time is also impacted. In 1995 it took
Clarkson 38 days on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We noticed the following financial health indicators in our forecast: Clarkson Lumber s ratio of total
assets to sales is moving from a position in line with high profit outlets to low profit outlets at
37.7%. This is due to accounts receivable increasing to 14% of sales which is higher than the
13.7% experienced by low profit ratios. Also, inventory as a percentage of sales has steadily
increased from 11.5% in 1993 to 13.5% in 1996.
In order to expand and remain financially stable, Clarkson Lumber must take advantage of all trade
discounts. Exhibits A 1 A 2 compares the impact to net income with and without the trade discounts.
In conclusion Clarkson Lumber would need an estimated $833,000 in additional financing as
shown in exhibit B 2. Therefore, Clarkson Lumber would not be able to expand in 1996.
Recommendation
As Mr. Clarkson s financial advisor, we would caution him on expanding his business given the
current financial trends and ratios of the company. The investment in inventory and receivables is
too high. As a result, Clarkson Lumber s return on assets, return on equity and invested capital are
lower when compared to other high profit outlets as shown in exhibit C. Additionally, a significant
increase in debt, such as a $750,000 loan, will further reduce the current ratio of the company.
Clarkson Lumber could benefit from some changes in its collection policies for

History of Jcpenney and Target
History of J.C. Penney and Target
By Rebecca Raschke
J.C. Penney
James Cash Penney and two partners opened the Golden Rule dry goods store in 1902 in
Kemmerer, Wyoming. The following two years they opened another two stores in other parts of
Wyoming. In 1907, Penney bought out his two partners and took on new ones. By that time
Penney had 34 stores and had $2 million in sales. The firm was incorporated in 1913 as the J.C.
Penney Company Corporation. The company moved headquarters to New York City the
following year and in 1915 stores had opened in Mississippi and Wisconsin. In 1917 Penney
became chairman of the board and had opened 175 stores and Earl Sams became president of the
company.

In 1998, J.C. Penney launched its first internet retail site and has grown to be one of the largest
online retailers today. In 1995 it had $1 billion in annual sales.
In 2006, J.C. Penney partnered with Sephora, a cosmetic chain and also American Living brand by
Ralph Lauren. J.C. Penney continues to receive a significant percentage of its sales through online
purchases and also discontinued its catalog sales during this time. Target
In 1902 Target Corporation was founded by George Draper Dayton. He was a banker and real
estate agent. After several years in banking and real estate he purchased land on Nicollet Avenue
and formed the Dayton Dry Goods Company, today known as Target Corporation.
Dayton became a partner in Goodfellow s Dry Good Company, which was the fourth largest
department store in Minneapolis. The following year he toke sole ownership of the store and
became president of that company. He remained active in the stores management until his death in
1938. His son and grandson toke over leadership and the company grew into a nationwide retailer.
In 1911 the Dayton Dry Good Company was renamed to the Dayton Company after rapid growth to
better reflect its wide assortment of goods and services.
In 1916, the Dayton Company became a founding member of the Retail Research Association, a
cooperative of leading retailers. In 1918 the association expand and is renamed the Associate

Boc Ohmeda
Ohmeda s current distribution system and sales organization is not well suited to implement
Rountree s new business strategy. The new corporate strategy calls for growth in high technology
product lines and the current dealership channel is more suited to goods that require less education
and information. In summary, the market trends combined with our changing corporate strategy
will require Ohmeda to change the distribution channel and structure of the salesforce. In the short
run, this will require a transition period and an investment to reorganize Ohmeda s sales force for
long term growth. In the long run, we believe this consolidating market will be heavily specialist
orientated. Due to these facts we recommend a dedicated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where the money is and the growth is. Their consolidation will in essence allow us to
lessen the breadth of our dealer coverage and allow us to focus our sales effort in this high growth
area.
Restructuring Recommendation and Evaluation
In the short term we calculate that the change to a specialist model will likely result in upfront
costs in the form of training and hiring new reps. This will be a transition period that will
ultimately lead to our long term vision: Ohmeda s sales specialist selling to medical specialist in the
high technology segment.
We are not recommending that Ohmeda discontinue relationships with all dealers. We
recommend that Ohmeda should keep some dealers to operate in the low technology suction
market. This is a $24M market and we have a 60% market share. This $14.3M in sales represents
15% of our 1985 medical equipment sales. We project this to grow 3.27% per year. This market
appears to be a cash cow segment where having dealer intensity is important. Over the past few
years, a competing company focused on price has made some in roads in this market and Ohmeda
fears that terminating the dealers will harm this segment. Given that this is a price sensitive, low
technology market we think the dealer network will be able to help fend off the competitor. History
has proven this to be the case.

How Did Ernest Hemingway Revolutionize What An Author...
Ernest Miller Hemingway was an American author, short story writer, and journalist. He was an
influential author in the 20th century. He was unlike many other novelists who wrote out very
long intricate sentences. Hemingway revolutionizes what an author should be like. Which is why
many people fell in love with his economical and modesty style of writing. His life of adventure
and the view of the public influenced later generations. However, at the highest point of his
literary career, Hemingway s body and mind were beginning to betray him. He suffered from
depression and was treated for many severe conditions such as high blood pressure and liver
disease. Late 1900s, Hemingway committed suicide in his Ketchum home.

1) The Philadelphia chromosome is chromosome 22, which has undergone a reciprocal
translocation with chromosome 9, such that the long arm of chromosome 22 has been replaced
with the long arm of chromosome 9. This chromosome is relevant to cancer because the long arm
of chromosome 9 contains human c abl oncogene, which becomes fused to the breakpoint cluster
region (bcr) in the Philadelphia chromosome, following translocation. Presence of this bcr abl gene
fusion produces a poorly regulated tyrosine kinase, which results in a much higher level of cell
proliferation. The action of this tyrosine kinase results in chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML)
symptoms, such as overproduction of white blood cells.

This will result in the substrate concentration remaining relatively constant, while only the
concentration of the enzyme changes over time. These conditions result in the kinetic order to be
the same with respect to enzyme concentration and with time; thus, mimicking first order kinetics.
3b) A non linear response is observed here because the binding of enzyme to substrate does not
follow simple pseudo first order kinetics, but instead there is a two step process involving rate
limiting changes in protein conformation. These findings support the previously proposed model
of substrate binding, in that there is a fast step of enzyme binding to substrate, followed by a slow
conformational change in the enzyme once bound to substrate. The plateau in the observed rates
indicates the maximal rate at which enzyme can bind to substrate, with Abl binding with a
maximal rate of 20 s 1 and Src binding with a maximal rate of 2 s 1.
4) For Abl, the indicated residues are within the C lobe of the enzyme, and are not in direct contact
with Gleevec when it is bound. For Src, the indicated residues are within the N lobe of the enzyme,
and within the Gleevec binding site, such that they may be making direct contact with Gleevec.
Since these residues are within the Gleevec binding region, they demonstrate the complex, two step,
fast and slow exchange that is occurring with Src; whereas, the residues indicated in Abl are not

Perception And Perception Of A Human Mind
This topic is specifically interesting because I want to do a research on how human mind perceives
things as it happens, and the kinds of role that perceptions play in human mind. Perception of things
cannot be true at all the time. It might be illusional. Perception of a certain element/event of life is a
natural cause. It is an instantaneous action inside the brain s functional parts. Consequently, it gives
awareness or consciousness to the mind. The topic is specifically relevant today because perception
is a natural cause, it cannot be evaluated to its full potential. There are always flaw in decoding
perception of a human mind. The significance of this topic is to inform people about direct and
indirect form of perception. Visual perception is a learning process which can be modified at
particular instant of time.
Some of perspectives to support the essay is to inquire how does human perceive information with
development of mind via multi sensory perception, self awareness/consciousness, and indirect
perception. Most of the perspective will concern about the effect of mind perception on particular
age group; infant, child, adult and elder. There will be a detail research on how does the
development of mind with an age can affect our reasoning and perception.
Human beings perceive/drive meaning through senses, ears, eyes and touch. There are different
type of perception especially in psychology that include amodal, color, depth, form, speech,
harmonic pitch and

The Impact Of The Civil War On Slavery And The Confederacy
Few historians would disagree that the continuous arguments over the North and the South states
led to the Confederacy. Many historians would agree that slavery did have a positive impact for

The Civil War was generally a duel to determine the survival of the United States of America as it
defeated the bid for independence by the breakaway Confederate States of America. The Civil
War started because of uncompromising differences between the free and slave states over the
power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become
slave states. This event is very crucial in regards to my research question because it is solely the
biggest event that incorporates the fundamentals of slavery and why it was so important to slave
states and why they wanted to expend slavery throughout the rest of America. It delivers the
audience the knowledge on how slaves were used as a force of labor and work transaction. Also
it exemplifies that later on, the Confederacy weakened giving northern states the victory and
abolishing slavery. The conclusion that I have gained from this research is that slavery has once

Of The Irresoubleness Of Diamonds, By Monica Ferrell
Grammar consists of a wide array of concepts, meanings, and different classes of words. It can be
defined as a linguistic system that exists in the mind of a speaker of a language, a written
description of a language, and an abstract notation of an ideal set of rules (of correct or proper
grammar) which can be encoded in a handbook (Studies in English Grammar Handbook, pg.7).
Monica Ferrell s, Of the Irresoubleness of Diamonds , Harmless, As Recalled by a Fairy Tale ,
Gerburt des Monicakinds , and Beautiful Funeral each employ four different grammatical issues
one of them being the known new contract. By incorporating these grammatical issues into her
work, Ferrell intends to develop a clear and sharp image to ignite the imagination of her readers.
The poems Of the Irresoubleness of Diamonds , Harmless, As Recalled by a Fairy Tale , Gerburt
des Monicakinds and Beautiful Funeral were written by poet and novelist Monica Ferrell.
Monica Ferrell was born in New Dehli. She earned her BA from Harvard University and MFA
from Columbia University (Poetry Foundation). Ferrell discusses the role of uncertainty in her
poems. She states, I m trying to let something that wants to come into being do so poetry as
uncovering, rather than invention or rhetoric, and a form of devotion and service . (Poetry
Foundation). By using several grammar techniques Ferrell paints a bright image for her readers
to ponder upon. Ferrell is an atypical poem and uses a variety of forms to convey her simple and
lyrical tone throughout them. One of the reasons that I chose her poems is because of the strong,
lyrical language she uses to convey the imagery and earnest tone. Monica Ferrell s poem, Of the
irresoubleness of Diamonds uses grammatical concepts such as attributive adjectives. There are
three examples where Ferrell uses attributive adjectives in her poem. One example where Ferrell
uses attributive adjectives is when she describes, Its delicate handle, the pictures painted there (line
3), the word delicate appears before the nounand is modifying it. Through this example Ferrell she
compares her love for someone to a teacup, perhaps implying that it could be the amount of feelings

Relevance And Effectiveness Of Intelligence Tests
Emmanuel Ndukwe
AP Seminar
Mrs. Kristel Behrend
14 December 2015
The Relevance and Effectiveness of Intelligence Tests Intelligence tests are the most widely used
method for assessing intelligence. This method has developed greatly over the past several decades.
However, intelligence tests have continually been scrutinized for various reasons and due to this
criticism, one maycan suggest that intelligence tests may be inaccurate measurements of
intelligence. This issue is important because, in today s time, intelligence tests are used to
determine various things that pertain to individuals, and it would be wrong that for an individual
to be put in a category in which he or she does not fitis not to be in. The purpose of this paper is to
prove this to its respective audience by looking at our current standards of intelligence tests, what
intelligence tests cover, various flaws of intelligence and how to improve intelligence tests.
According to current standards, before an intelligence test can be used to assess intelligence, it
must meet certain criteria. An intelligence test must be reliable ( How Do We Measure
Intelligence? ). The reliability of a test refers to the consistency of the results of test takers ( How
Do You Measure Intelligence? ). If a test shows significant variation in its scores, then the results
cannot be considered accurate. Inaccurate scores cannot be used for other purposes such as
predicting future information. An intelligence test must be

Similarities Between The Greasers And The Outsiders
The two books The Outsiders and The Wednesday Wars are very similar and diverse in countless
ways. The location, main characters, and influences help demonstrate these similarities and
differences. In the book, The Wednesday Wars, Holling HoodHood lives in Long Island with
what his father likes to think is the perfect family. He is a 13 year old boy who goes to Camillo
Junior High but with this time in history, during the Vietnam War, his life could change. For
Ponyboy Curtis life is almost completely different. Where he lives, life is not the all American
dream. Competition between the Socials and the Greasers is always a constant threat for him and
his gang. Ponyboy Curtis is a greaser like no other. His ability to comprehend school subjects set
him apart from the rest of his gang. In both books you would be able to find similarities in where
they take place, the main characters, and the people who influence their lives. The location of
where each story takes place affect the main characters differently. The setting of The Outsiders is
fun, dangerous, disturbing, and even heart wrenching. Ponyboy describes the town as being
economically split into two parts, East and West. These two parts cause Ponyboy to worry more
about the Greasers and the Socials than current events. This quote demonstrates how the location

Cult Classic Essay
What makes a film a cult classic? What makes a bunch of films belong to the same cult classic? I
found myself asking the same question a couple of days ago, only to to get bombarded by my own

These three films are as psychologically triggering as they re visually stunning. But the most
important aspect here is the accompanied music. The three main scores which were written by the
same person for three different movies that just happen to end up being huge cult classics.
First, let s talk about Requiem For a Dream: The whole story is about how addiction is more than

less, an audiovisual version of Möbius strip, or if I may say, the poorer but still rich prequel of
Cloud Atlas. Whatever one might think about it, the score itself is Clint Mansell s best work, it
moves right along the film across time and space to be a multi layered piece of astonishing
creativity. The Last Man is the main score, with its string exclusive passive theme, the piece
ascends us as the main character ascends through the fabric of reality. Death is The Road to Awe,
on the other hand, is not as gloomy as one might guess from its title. It s been used in the crucial
moment of when the character discoverers his inability to do anything about...well, anything!
Somehow, the piece makes that scene a bit more emotionally tolerable as it gives it the integrity of
being not sad, but sadly

Mental Health Intervention Paper
Natural and man made disasters, crises, and other trauma causing events have become a focus of
the clinical mental health counseling profession because of the need to help people who
experience such events and who may develop psychological disorders that arises from them.
PTSD is a crippling outcome of many of these disasters and accounts for a large percentage of the
major effects to not only those experiencing the disasterfirst hand, but also to the first responders
and members of the affected communities (Satcher, 2007).
Concern about the increase in disasters worldwide has prompted advocates of mental health

Elizabeth In Pride And Prejudice
After reading through Mr. Darcy s letter, Elizabeth is bombarded with mixed emotions. Her mind
was already decided to dislike him, but now there was evidence that she had greatly misjudged
him and his character. Having a physical letter instead of a brisk conversation allows Elizabeth to
think everything other, apply logic, and allow her to find the truth. Elizabeth eventually reaches the
conclusion that her assumptions about Mr. Darcy were all wrong and cries How despicably have I
acted...I, who have prided myself on my discernment...Had I been in love, I could not have been
more wretchedly blind. (Austen 141). Elizabeth feels awful for misjudgment and, as a

have always observed, that they who are good natured when children, are good natured when
they grow up; and [Mr. Darcy] was always the sweetest tempered, most generous hearted, boy in
the world. (Austen 166). Mrs. Reynolds also mentions Darcy s affection for his sister, stating
Whatever can give his sister any pleasure, is sure to be done in a moment. There is nothing he

not as an egotistical man of wealth, but a responsible and caring gentleman. Also while at Pemberley

Sweep Wrestling Research Papers

Shooting a Sweep Single From beginners to Olympic Champions, the sweep single is a trenchant
takedown used by all types of wrestlers. It really is a shot that everyone can use no matter the
wrestler s size, shape, or skill level. There are many different variations to this wrestling move with
countless set ups and finishes to it. To successfully complete the sweeping single, a wrestler must
focus on creating a variety of movements that lead to the actual shot which can then be finished to
score the two point takedown.
Before a wrestler can ever shoot a sweep single, they first have to get ahold of the opponent by
attacking certain points of the body. In order to obtain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To begin taking the shot the wrestler must first lower their level. This is an intrinsic part in the
whole process. Usually, the wrestler who is lower in height will win the battle, which is the
same with many other contact sports. The attacking wrestler will lower his level to become
more powerful and also to avoid the opponent s upper body defense. The attacking wrestler will
then drive off of their back leg and penetrate into their opponent. This particular shot is called a
sweeping single for two reasons. The sweeping part comes in because as the attacking wrestler is
penetrating in, the will windshield wipe their feet around their opponent in order to get behind
them. The second reason is the single part, which means the attacking wrestler will grab one leg
instead of two. After the wrestler is in deep on their sweeping single shot, they can begin to finish

The Efficacy of Patient-Controlled Analgesia
The practice of patient controlled analgesia (PCA) has been around for approximately four
decades now. During this time there have been improvements to the technology and the
understanding of how to use this form of patient pain control; however, there continues to be
concern related to the safety and efficacy of PCA. As this analysis proceeds it will briefly explain
what PCA is and how it is used, then delve into the benefits and the safety issues surrounding PCA
use as it pertains to the patient and the nurse. Some of the benefits of PCA include improved pain
management, improved use of nursing resources, increased patient satisfaction, and reduced
pulmonary issues (Hicks, Sikirica, Nelson, Schein Cousins, 2008). Some of the safety... Show more

Only patient activation of their infusion pump allows for this fundamental safeguard to come
into play. Later in this paper we will discuss the safety issues related to the activation of a PCA
infusion pump by someone other than the patient, a practice called PCA by proxy. Although there
appears to be significant benefits to the use of PCA infusion pumps, there are significant safety
issues arising from the use of PCA infusion pumps that can cause severe harm and potentially
even death. Some of these safety issues include infusion pump programming errors, basal infusion
of opioids, and PCA by proxy. A leading type of error identified in doing harm to PCA patients is
the improper dosage or quantity of analgesic medication (Hicks et al, 2008). This sort of error took
place on a patient returning to a hospital for postoperative pain management following a recent
surgical procedure. The nurse was given an order to manage the patient s pain with hydromorphone
administered via PCA infusion pump. In programming the pump the nurse inadvertently changed
the concentration of the medication from 1mg/ml to 0.3mg/ml, thus leading to errors in both the

Analysis Of Mark And The Gospel Of Matthew
In the Bible, several verses convey the same event or message that is told in another verse, but
the context or delivery of the story or message differs from each other, because the authors want
to convey a different message in each scene. An example of an event conveyed in two different
verses is Mark 6:45 52 and Matthew 14:22 33. Both verses recall the events of The Walking on the
Water. To summarize the scene, the Walking on Water is about the events immediately after the
Feeding of the Five Thousand where Jesusprays on a mountain. Eventually, the disciples struggle
with a storm, and Jesus is able to catch up with them by walking on the water. At first, the disciples
believe that Jesus is a ghost, but he is able to convince them that he indeed walked on the water. As
the storm calms down, Jesus has his doubts about whether the disciples understand the miracles.
It is noted that the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Matthew tells various events in a different
manner or perspective, and have an effect on how The Walking on the Water is retold.
Concerning the complete Gospel of Mark, The story is told with an unusual urgency (Powell, p.
40), and Emphasize Jesus s deeds over his words (Powell, p. 41). In terms of theology, this presents
people in general in a neutral fashion, while presenting Jesus as a god, and less as a person.
In comparison to the Gospel of Mark, The fulfillment of prophecy is an important theme in
Matthew (Powell, p. 69), and the

Marilyn Monroe Emotional Issues
One of the things a woman wants most in this world is for someone to relate and/or understand
her. Ever since I can remember, I ve had that one person to look up to that I felt could relate to me.
As long as I can remember, that person was Marilyn Monroe. At about the age of 5, I saw her face
on the television screen and by about the age of 12 years old, I was researching all I could about
her. The more I learned about her, the more my love grew for her and the more I knew she would
understand me if she were here today. Marilyn Monroewas an iconic celebrity but also very
relatable to the average woman who deals things such as tough emotional issues, harsh body image
problems and having a hard time trusting people or building relationships.
Everyone has issues that we deal with; we re only human, right? The emotional issues we deal
with daily can be anger, sadness, depression, etc. Marilyn dealt with these emotions as much as
anyone else, but there was a time she had said, I am not a victim of emotional conflicts. I am
human . She understood that as a human being, we all have emotional problems, but it s how
one deals with their emotions that matters. These emotional issues can stem from many different
situations or moments in our life. Dealing with a bully in school, an abusive parent or whatever
it may be, can cause these issues. Unfortunately, Marilyn had to deal with emotional issues
stemming form the relationship with her mother. One of Marilyn s family members was quoted
saying: Gladys didn t hug, kiss or smile, Marilyn s niece, Mona Rae Miracle, exclusively tells
Closer. She was delusional, and she heard voices from electrical appliances. She was antisocial
and unable to express any emotion, except anger . Marilyn s mother s inability to feel or express
emotions was of no benefit to the growth of an impressionable girl such as Marilyn. Marilyn
unfortunately paid dearly from this and grew up battling her emotions all of the time. So, knowing
what we ve learned so far, there s no doubt that Marilyn Monroe dealt with the same kind of
problems your average jane deals with.
Emotional issues wouldn t be the only way for Marilyn to relate to us average Janes these days,

Sports Marketing By Sam Fullerton
In this short assignment, I will be identifying sponsorship for each of the six categories noted in
ch 4, Sports Marketing by Sam Fullerton (Sports, Entertainments, Causes, Art, Festival, and
Association). I will also identify one of the five primary objectives of sponsorship for each
category (drive sales, improve image, create greater awareness, provide hospitality opportunities,
enhance employee morale). I will evaluate whether these sponsors and sponsees are a good fit.
And will they be successful for the sponsor. For sports, I will be looking at the NBA as the sponsee
and Pepsi Co as the new food and beverage sponsor. According to an article in Fortune Magazine
titled PepsiConabs NBA sponsorship rights from Coca Cola by Beth Kowitt. She states, the
terms or the duration are not being disclosed, but the deal is worth significantly more than the
previous deal with Coca Cola. The new agreement also covers the WNBA, NBA Development
League, and USA Basketball. Tingyi, PepsiCo s partner in China, will be the exclusive partner
of the NBA in China through its Master Kong brand (Kowitt, B., 2015). This is a good fit. It will
give exposure to PepsiCo s other brand. The NBA deal for PepsiCo is not the usual; Mountain
Dew, rather than Pepsi soda will take the headliner. PepsiCo s Aquafina, Brisk, Doritos, and Ruffles
brands will be featured in this new deal (Kowitt, B., 2015). The primary goal of sponsorship for
PepsiCo is to create greater awareness. Unlike Coca Cola,

that Austen had been dead for 70 years when family members gave permission to exploit that

White Slavery Research Paper
White historians in the past described the relationship between slavery in the American South and
the rising political power and economic growth of the United States as i.e. timely unrelated.
Furthermore, white historians believed that slavery had no impact on America s modern economy

it as a modern act in society would be to recognize it as something commonplace in that specific
day and age.

those enslaved a short moment of joy and peace, and much needed time away from their work to
commune and celebrate each other. This culture was often misrepresented and misconstrued by
whites because they attributed the music and dance to African tradition, often using this to justify

My Experience At Brinckerhoff Elementary School
During my practicum, my supervisor and myself have discussed what I have to do to meet my
practicum requirements. We have discussed the student that I will complete an assessment on
and what day. The student was due for a re evaluation and I was required to give him the
Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 5th Edition (WISC V). In order to prepare for the
assessment, I used the assessment tools at Brinckerhoff Elementary School, and practiced giving
the test on my own. I prepared the record form by marking where my starting points are located.
Once completed, I focused on the query items by going over what I would look for in each
answer from the student. I also ensured I knew what each test required, to allow the process to be

  • 2. Essay on Salivary Gland Tumors INTRODUCTION: Salivary gland tumors are a morphologically diverse group of neoplasms, which may present considerable diagnostic and management challenges for the pathologist and surgeon. Salivary gland tumors are rare with an overall incidence in the western world of about 2.5 to 3.0 per 100,000 per year. About 80% of all lesions are benign; hence salivary malignancies are particularly rare, comprising less than 0.5% of all malignancies and about 5% of cancers in the head and neck. (1) Most of the studies on salivary gland tumors are in reference to western population and to the best of our knowledge this study is the first of its kind in Indian population. In this study, salivary gland neoplasms were retrospectively studied... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Immunohistochemical analysis for smooth muscle actin (SMA) was done and the intensity of staining and staining location were considered. RESULTS: A total of 1855 biopsy specimens were accessioned at our biopsy services during the study period (2002 2006). In this period, 37 cases were salivary gland neoplasms accounting to 1.99% of all biopsy specimens accessioned. Of 37 cases, 11 were benign neoplasms (29.72%) and 26 were malignant (70.27%). The common tumors overall was Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) and Muco epidermoid carcinoma (MEC) (Table 1). Of 37 cases, 9 cases occurred in major salivary glands, with eight occurrences in the parotid region 1 PA, 1 Adenolymphoma 6 Acinic cell adenocarcinoma (AcADCC) and one in submandibular region 1 Polymorphous low grade adenocarcinoma (PLGA). Of 37 cases, 28 cases occurred in minor salivary glands, with palate being the most commonly affected site by both benign (63.63%) and malignant tumors (58%). Males represented 54% of the affected patients, and certain tumors showed a strong male predilection, like MEC (6/10), PLGA (2/2), Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) (5/8), Adenolymphoma (1/1); in contrast, some tumors such as PA (7/10), Acinic cell carcinoma (4/6) showed a female predilection. The mean age for malignant tumors in females (40.6 years) was lower than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Jim Coleman Community Services Case Study Shortly after revitalization in 1994, one of the very first major projects the Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce established was a community service award. After some investigation it was learned that most communities bestowed some type of annual award on at least one of its deserving citizens. After much deliberation, the chamber board of directors at that time, decided to establish the Jim C. Coleman Community Service Award to honor a Metcalfe County person who closely exemplified the service orientation of the late Jim C. Coleman. It is thought that Jim Coleman would have been delighted to have the late Father George K. Bowling to receive the very first award named in his memory. • 4. As With Any Other Comparative Analysis, This Essay Will As with any other comparative analysis, this essay will discuss the similarities between two elements. The elements in this situation are the Republic of Ireland and the United States of America. The three specific ways that these two countries can be compared are via: economic and political outlook, social and cultural issues, and resources and work culture. Additionally, each country is known throughout the world. Primarily because of their business structure. The first factor that will be addressed is economic and political outlook. To begin one will address the political outlook of these two countries, and with that comes the form of government. Both are republics. With the United Statesbeing a constitutional federal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1). Their duty is to speak to the government on behalf of a community and/or state. In the judicial branch, both countries have a Supreme Court ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). Whose role is to hear legal cases of significant magnitude to the country and/or its citizens. One key difference is that in Ireland the judges in the Supreme Court cannot serve past age 70 , whereas in the United States the judges are appointed for life ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). Hence, the age of justices varies between these two republics. These three major branches of government can also overlap at times to provide a peaceful resolution or to resolve active disputes. Now for the economic outlook of these two countries. This comparing, and contrasting segment is more difficult than the political outlook. Since, these two countries do vary quite significantly in terms of population and size. For instance, Ireland s population as of July 2016 was just below five million, which is incomparable to the roughly 324 million United States population ( The World Factbook: IRELAND , 2017, Pg. 1). That means the Irish population could be added about 65 times to reach the American population. However, these two nations do have some similarities. First, both countries rely heavily on technology to propel their economic growth and expansion. For Ireland has a talented pool of high tech laborers and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Descriptive Essay On Elkton Elkton, Kentucky is a tiny, rural town that juts off of Highway 68. The heart of the town is the former courthouse. Its steeple shoots proudly into the sky, displaying a clock of dubious accuracy. Old, brick storefronts form a square around the courthouse, broken only by four streets extending from the square. When I was young, riding in the backseat, I knew every detail of those streets. There was a movie rental store, with posters I always strained to read; a tiny library whose young adult section I had thoroughly explored; and a thrift store where I bought fifty cent stuffed animals. Elkton was small, but I never thought I would need anything more. In my young mind, it was the only townthat existed. Elkton was my world. I turned thirteen the week my family moved out. With typical youthful energy, I was ecstatic. I never looked back to the little white house; I only looked forward to the beige colored apartment that, I bragged, was only five minutes from the mall. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I paid my visits to Elkton, a new town revealed itself. Elkton was dying. The sign on the hardware store had fallen on one side, the movie store had bankrupted and closed, and the tiny library was a pathetic joke. I never went back to the thrift store, I had thrown away my stuffed animals long ago, and the place stank of cheap cigarettes. Worst of all, the little house I had once lived in was dead and vacant. Weeds almost swallowed the For Sale sign at the road, and a green film grew over the siding. To me, Elkton reeked of decay and hopelessness. I hated the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Clarkson Lumber Case Analysis Essay Statement of the Problem At first glance, Clarkson Lumber appears to be a healthy company. However, despite rapid growth and increasing sales Clarkson Lumber finds itself searching for additional funding to compensate for a shortage in cash to fund its expanding business. Clarkson Lumber is in this situation for a number of reasons. The company s inability to receive payments from customers in a timely manner created a severe impact in the company s cash flows. The age of account receivables increased each year. In 1995 it took 49 days on average to receive payments from customers. Because of the delay in accounts receivable, Clarkson Lumber s ability to pay suppliers on time is also impacted. In 1995 it took Clarkson 38 days on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We noticed the following financial health indicators in our forecast: Clarkson Lumber s ratio of total assets to sales is moving from a position in line with high profit outlets to low profit outlets at 37.7%. This is due to accounts receivable increasing to 14% of sales which is higher than the 13.7% experienced by low profit ratios. Also, inventory as a percentage of sales has steadily increased from 11.5% in 1993 to 13.5% in 1996. In order to expand and remain financially stable, Clarkson Lumber must take advantage of all trade discounts. Exhibits A 1 A 2 compares the impact to net income with and without the trade discounts. In conclusion Clarkson Lumber would need an estimated $833,000 in additional financing as shown in exhibit B 2. Therefore, Clarkson Lumber would not be able to expand in 1996. Recommendation As Mr. Clarkson s financial advisor, we would caution him on expanding his business given the current financial trends and ratios of the company. The investment in inventory and receivables is too high. As a result, Clarkson Lumber s return on assets, return on equity and invested capital are lower when compared to other high profit outlets as shown in exhibit C. Additionally, a significant increase in debt, such as a $750,000 loan, will further reduce the current ratio of the company. Clarkson Lumber could benefit from some changes in its collection policies for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Penney James Cash Penney and two partners opened the Golden Rule dry goods store in 1902 in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The following two years they opened another two stores in other parts of Wyoming. In 1907, Penney bought out his two partners and took on new ones. By that time Penney had 34 stores and had $2 million in sales. The firm was incorporated in 1913 as the J.C. Penney Company Corporation. The company moved headquarters to New York City the following year and in 1915 stores had opened in Mississippi and Wisconsin. The new corporate strategy calls for growth in high technology product lines and the current dealership channel is more suited to goods that require less education and information. In summary, the market trends combined with our changing corporate strategy will require Ohmeda to change the distribution channel and structure of the salesforce. In the short run, this will require a transition period and an investment to reorganize Ohmeda s sales force for long term growth. In the long run, we believe this consolidating market will be heavily specialist orientated. Due to these facts we recommend a dedicated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is where the money is and the growth is. Their consolidation will in essence allow us to lessen the breadth of our dealer coverage and allow us to focus our sales effort in this high growth area. Restructuring Recommendation and Evaluation In the short term we calculate that the change to a specialist model will likely result in upfront costs in the form of training and hiring new reps. This will be a transition period that will ultimately lead to our long term vision: Ohmeda s sales specialist selling to medical specialist in the high technology segment. We are not recommending that Ohmeda discontinue relationships with all dealers. We recommend that Ohmeda should keep some dealers to operate in the low technology suction market. This is a $24M market and we have a 60% market share. This $14.3M in sales represents 15% of our 1985 medical equipment sales. We project this to grow 3.27% per year. This market appears to be a cash cow segment where having dealer intensity is important. Over the past few years, a competing company focused on price has made some in roads in this market and Ohmeda fears that terminating the dealers will harm this segment. Given that this is a price sensitive, low technology market we think the dealer network will be able to help fend off the competitor. History has proven this to be the case. To compare ... He was unlike many other novelists who wrote out very long intricate sentences. Hemingway revolutionizes what an author should be like. Which is why many people fell in love with his economical and modesty style of writing. His life of adventure and the view of the public influenced later generations. However, at the highest point of his literary career, Hemingway s body and mind were beginning to betray him. He suffered from depression and was treated for many severe conditions such as high blood pressure and liver disease. Late 1900s, Hemingway committed suicide in his Ketchum home. • 10. Stc Case Study 1) The Philadelphia chromosome is chromosome 22, which has undergone a reciprocal translocation with chromosome 9, such that the long arm of chromosome 22 has been replaced with the long arm of chromosome 9. This chromosome is relevant to cancer because the long arm of chromosome 9 contains human c abl oncogene, which becomes fused to the breakpoint cluster region (bcr) in the Philadelphia chromosome, following translocation. Presence of this bcr abl gene fusion produces a poorly regulated tyrosine kinase, which results in a much higher level of cell proliferation. The action of this tyrosine kinase results in chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML) symptoms, such as overproduction of white blood cells. 2) Opposed to structural data alone, NMR ... These conditions result in the kinetic order to be the same with respect to enzyme concentration and with time; thus, mimicking first order kinetics. 3b) A non linear response is observed here because the binding of enzyme to substrate does not follow simple pseudo first order kinetics, but instead there is a two step process involving rate limiting changes in protein conformation. These findings support the previously proposed model of substrate binding, in that there is a fast step of enzyme binding to substrate, followed by a slow conformational change in the enzyme once bound to substrate. The plateau in the observed rates indicates the maximal rate at which enzyme can bind to substrate, with Abl binding with a maximal rate of 20 s 1 and Src binding with a maximal rate of 2 s 1. 4) For Abl, the indicated residues are within the C lobe of the enzyme, and are not in direct contact with Gleevec when it is bound. For Src, the indicated residues are within the N lobe of the enzyme, and within the Gleevec binding site, such that they may be making direct contact with Gleevec. Since these residues are within the Gleevec binding region, they demonstrate the complex, two step, fast and slow exchange that is occurring with Src; whereas, the residues indicated in Abl are not ... • 11. Perception And Perception Of A Human Mind This topic is specifically interesting because I want to do a research on how human mind perceives things as it happens, and the kinds of role that perceptions play in human mind. Perception of things cannot be true at all the time. It might be illusional. Perception of a certain element/event of life is a natural cause. It is an instantaneous action inside the brain s functional parts. Consequently, it gives awareness or consciousness to the mind. The topic is specifically relevant today because perception is a natural cause, it cannot be evaluated to its full potential. There are always flaw in decoding perception of a human mind. The significance of this topic is to inform people about direct and indirect form of perception. Visual perception is a learning process which can be modified at particular instant of time. The Civil War was generally a duel to determine the survival of the United States of America as it defeated the bid for independence by the breakaway Confederate States of America. The Civil War started because of uncompromising differences between the free and slave states over the power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not yet become slave states. This event is very crucial in regards to my research question because it is solely the biggest event that incorporates the fundamentals of slavery and why it was so important to slave states and why they wanted to expend slavery throughout the rest of America. It delivers the audience the knowledge on how slaves were used as a force of labor and work transaction. Also it exemplifies that later on, the Confederacy weakened giving northern states the victory and abolishing slavery. The conclusion that I have gained from this research is that slavery has once helped the Confederate states with manual labor, but soon after the civil war, they re defeat against the Northern states hindered their ability to be slave holders and their rights as slave holders were discarded and slavery was ... • 17. Of The Irresoubleness Of Diamonds, By Monica Ferrell Grammar consists of a wide array of concepts, meanings, and different classes of words. It can be defined as a linguistic system that exists in the mind of a speaker of a language, a written description of a language, and an abstract notation of an ideal set of rules (of correct or proper grammar) which can be encoded in a handbook (Studies in English Grammar Handbook, pg.7). Monica Ferrell s, Of the Irresoubleness of Diamonds , Harmless, As Recalled by a Fairy Tale , Gerburt des Monicakinds , and Beautiful Funeral each employ four different grammatical issues one of them being the known new contract. By incorporating these grammatical issues into her work, Ferrell intends to develop a clear and sharp image to ignite the imagination of her readers. The poems Of the Irresoubleness of Diamonds , Harmless, As Recalled by a Fairy Tale , Gerburt des Monicakinds and Beautiful Funeral were written by poet and novelist Monica Ferrell. Monica Ferrell was born in New Dehli. She earned her BA from Harvard University and MFA from Columbia University (Poetry Foundation). Ferrell discusses the role of uncertainty in her poems. She states, I m trying to let something that wants to come into being do so poetry as uncovering, rather than invention or rhetoric, and a form of devotion and service . (Poetry Foundation). By using several grammar techniques Ferrell paints a bright image for her readers to ponder upon. Ferrell is an atypical poem and uses a variety of forms to convey her simple and lyrical tone throughout them. One of the reasons that I chose her poems is because of the strong, lyrical language she uses to convey the imagery and earnest tone. Monica Ferrell s poem, Of the irresoubleness of Diamonds uses grammatical concepts such as attributive adjectives. There are three examples where Ferrell uses attributive adjectives in her poem. One example where Ferrell uses attributive adjectives is when she describes, Its delicate handle, the pictures painted there (line 3), the word delicate appears before the nounand is modifying it. Through this example Ferrell she compares her love for someone to a teacup, perhaps implying that it could be the amount of feelings she has for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This method has developed greatly over the past several decades. However, intelligence tests have continually been scrutinized for various reasons and due to this criticism, one maycan suggest that intelligence tests may be inaccurate measurements of intelligence. This issue is important because, in today s time, intelligence tests are used to determine various things that pertain to individuals, and it would be wrong that for an individual to be put in a category in which he or she does not fitis not to be in. The purpose of this paper is to prove this to its respective audience by looking at our current standards of intelligence tests, what intelligence tests cover, various flaws of intelligence and how to improve intelligence tests. According to current standards, before an intelligence test can be used to assess intelligence, it must meet certain criteria. An intelligence test must be reliable ( How Do We Measure Intelligence? ). The reliability of a test refers to the consistency of the results of test takers ( How Do You Measure Intelligence? ). If a test shows significant variation in its scores, then the results cannot be considered accurate. Inaccurate scores cannot be used for other purposes such as predicting future information. Analysis Of Mark And The Gospel Of Matthew In the Bible, several verses convey the same event or message that is told in another verse, but the context or delivery of the story or message differs from each other, because the authors want to convey a different message in each scene. An example of an event conveyed in two different verses is Mark 6:45 52 and Matthew 14:22 33. Both verses recall the events of The Walking on the Water. To summarize the scene, the Walking on Water is about the events immediately after the Feeding of the Five Thousand where Jesusprays on a mountain. Eventually, the disciples struggle with a storm, and Jesus is able to catch up with them by walking on the water. At first, the disciples believe that Jesus is a ghost, but he is able to convince them that he indeed walked on the water. As the storm calms down, Jesus has his doubts about whether the disciples understand the miracles. It is noted that the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Matthew tells various events in a different manner or perspective, and have an effect on how The Walking on the Water is retold. Concerning the complete Gospel of Mark, The story is told with an unusual urgency (Powell, p. 40), and Emphasize Jesus s deeds over his words (Powell, p. 41). Ever since I can remember, I ve had that one person to look up to that I felt could relate to me. As long as I can remember, that person was Marilyn Monroe. At about the age of 5, I saw her face on the television screen and by about the age of 12 years old, I was researching all I could about her. The more I learned about her, the more my love grew for her and the more I knew she would understand me if she were here today. Marilyn Monroewas an iconic celebrity but also very relatable to the average woman who deals things such as tough emotional issues, harsh body image problems and having a hard time trusting people or building relationships. Everyone has issues that we deal with; we re only human, right? The emotional issues we deal with daily can be anger, sadness, depression, etc. Marilyn dealt with these emotions as much as anyone else, but there was a time she had said, I am not a victim of emotional conflicts. I am human . She understood that as a human being, we all have emotional problems, but it s how one deals with their emotions that matters. These emotional issues can stem from many different situations or moments in our life. Dealing with a bully in school, an abusive parent or whatever it may be, can cause these issues. Unfortunately, Marilyn had to deal with emotional issues stemming form the relationship with her mother. One of Marilyn s family members was quoted saying: Gladys didn t hug, kiss or smile, Marilyn s niece, Mona Rae Miracle, exclusively tells Closer. She was delusional, and she heard voices from electrical appliances. She was antisocial and unable to express any emotion, except anger . Marilyn s mother s inability to feel or express emotions was of no benefit to the growth of an impressionable girl such as Marilyn. Marilyn unfortunately paid dearly from this and grew up battling her emotions all of the time. • 34. Sports Marketing By Sam Fullerton In this short assignment, I will be identifying sponsorship for each of the six categories noted in ch 4, Sports Marketing by Sam Fullerton (Sports, Entertainments, Causes, Art, Festival, and Association). I will also identify one of the five primary objectives of sponsorship for each category (drive sales, improve image, create greater awareness, provide hospitality opportunities, enhance employee morale). I will evaluate whether these sponsors and sponsees are a good fit. And will they be successful for the sponsor. For sports, I will be looking at the NBA as the sponsee and Pepsi Co as the new food and beverage sponsor. According to an article in Fortune Magazine titled PepsiConabs NBA sponsorship rights from Coca Cola by Beth Kowitt. She states, the terms or the duration are not being disclosed, but the deal is worth significantly more than the previous deal with Coca Cola. The new agreement also covers the WNBA, NBA Development League, and USA Basketball. Tingyi, PepsiCo s partner in China, will be the exclusive partner of the NBA in China through its Master Kong brand (Kowitt, B., 2015). This is a good fit. It will give exposure to PepsiCo s other brand. The NBA deal for PepsiCo is not the usual; Mountain Dew, rather than Pepsi soda will take the headliner. PepsiCo s Aquafina, Brisk, Doritos, and Ruffles brands will be featured in this new deal (Kowitt, B., 2015). The primary goal of sponsorship for PepsiCo is to create greater awareness. Unlike Coca Cola, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Conversely, the lecturer brings up the idea that Austen had been dead for 70 years when family members gave permission to exploit that portray in the edition of her letters. Consequently, they could not have seen her to have any clue about her teenager s face. Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that the face in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. White Slavery Research Paper White historians in the past described the relationship between slavery in the American South and the rising political power and economic growth of the United States as i.e. timely unrelated. Furthermore, white historians believed that slavery had no impact on America s modern economy or industrialization. Perhaps slaverywasn t considered a modern institution because to acknowledge it as a modern act in society would be to recognize it as something commonplace in that specific day and age. 2) Allowing slavery to continue and even expand was important to legislators in the late eighteenth century because expansion increased demand on African slave trade which in turn, increased revenue and bodies for labor. Politically, they stood against the rights and needs of African Americans. While in the beginning, they were against slavery, they were not willing to afterwards stand with African Americans and fight for their rights and equality. 7) According to the author, the main attributes of African American music and culture in the early nineteenth century were because of a common need of survival amongst each other. Music brought those enslaved a short moment of joy and peace, and much needed time away from their work to commune and celebrate each other. • 39. My Experience At Brinckerhoff Elementary School During my practicum, my supervisor and myself have discussed what I have to do to meet my practicum requirements. We have discussed the student that I will complete an assessment on and what day. The student was due for a re evaluation and I was required to give him the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 5th Edition (WISC V). In order to prepare for the assessment, I used the assessment tools at Brinckerhoff Elementary School, and practiced giving the test on my own. I prepared the record form by marking where my starting points are located. Once completed, I focused on the query items by going over what I would look for in each answer from the student. I also ensured I knew what each test required, to allow the process to be less robotic. The school psychologist and I discussed that she will be present during the first evaluations, to ensure that I am doing a good job. The school psychologist informed me that she would do the assessment with me until she feels I am 100% comfortable and confident to complete the assessment. This way, if I have any issues, she will guide me without breaking the standardization of the test. When it came to picking the test, my practicum supervisor determined what assessment would be used. She chose tests that were suited best for the student s evaluation. At first, she had to see what the student was classified with, and then determine what tests should be used to reevaluate the student. My supervisor chose the specific assessments ...
