The Great Gatsby Alternate Ending Essay
Edmund went to respond to Goldie, but by the time his mouth opened, she d already exited the
water, and his white hot gaze was upon his brother. He d noted the manner in which his sibling s
fingers deliberately brushed Goldie s skin as she slipped back into the dress, and decided it best
not to speak. Edmund wasn t certain he d be able to control his anger and annoyance if he did.
That damn Walt, always interfering. The elder boy s mood wasn t assisted by the smirk Walt
threw in his direction as he grasped the young woman s elbow; the woman Edmund himself had
just recently been holding and kissing; as if to lay claim to her, or the mocking tone of his voice
as he instructed his brother to collect Goldie s belongings. As he stared, and curled his hands into
fists first under the water, the elder Bear thought that his face must be brighter than the scorching,
blood red sun of earlier that day, and his words, when he finally mustered the composure to speak,
were uttered through clenched teeth. Goodbye Goldie. Meanwhile, Walt s face had been lit

stiffened, and his mouth fell open at his brother s obvious display as he collected Goldie s
possessions, then caught up with them. Yep, my brother is a comedian. Edmund grinned as
he extended a hand to apply a good natured smack upside his sibling s head. Or one, which to an
outsider would appear good natured, but from extended practice, contained much greater force than

Logistics Structure Of An Immaculate Logistic Framework
Logistics structure orchestrating joins strategizing the surge of materials or things starting with one
point then onto the accompanying. An unremarkable logistic structure outline tries to set up supply,
warehousing other than the scattering of advancement base. Further, the logistic structure sorting
out logisticscosts paying little respect to allowing the required level of versatility to meet the
affiliation necessities. In portraying an immaculate logistic framework including one and just
arrangement focus, changes steps which join surveying, gathering data, showing the association
and disengaging it and completing the logistics structure course of action are taken. By applying
the right procedures, exact data and information are relied on to pick these steps.
To engineer a logistics structure, I would make each one out of our suppliers, when and what they
and they achieve, then check whether the things have remarkable properties like perishable, dry
sustenances, equipment or high peril as this will oversee me in picking the stockroom area and
method for transport required. In like way, I would need to know more about our concentrated on
clients as this will pick the total to stock at any given time.
With a particular finished focus to outline the perfect framework, I would firstly review the present
logistics structure. It is fundamental to consider the adequately existing structure if any as this
would help me to evaluate its lacks, central focuses, costs and

Lawn-Fairland House Architecture
The third phase took place in the 20th century under the structure s final owner Jay Winston Johns.
I n the early 1930s, Johns hired an architect named Edmund Campbell and several students from the
University of Virginia to survey the home. Surveying the grounds of Ash Lawn Highlands, the
students developed a drawing for Johns that displayed the structure in its original state. Construction
of the home under the ownership of Johns involved the building of the one story portico porch on
the façade of the original structure and the building s grounds .
Architectural Evaluation
Ash Lawn Highland presents several early American architectural styles, which includes a Colonial
and Georgian style façade that presents a red brick foundation. The brick foundation runs along
the structures base gradually turning into fieldstone along the west wing . Attached to a stone
stylobate, a single brick step runs half the length of the porch. Adjoining the stylobate are two
wooden plinths, which support Tuscan columns. The Tuscan columns sustain the full weight of the

the right side of the addition s foundation. Located on the right side of the structure s foundation are

Comparison Of Kangaroo Rats
Kangaroo Rats are small furry creatures that actually and surprisingly have a lot in common with
the very famous kangaroo. They don t live in the same environment though. They are one of many
creatures in their climate, but they are one of the smallest too.
Kangaroo Rats have a variety of environments they can live in. These environments are very
similar though. All have very dry climates, such as the desert scrub, open grasslands, and sandy
soils. They live in small holes and burrows that they dig in the dry sandy ground. They re in the
mammalia class. This means that they re furry and are warm blooded. They look like small tan
colored mice.
These rats reproduce sexually with another mate. The females can have up to 3 liters of 1 6 young

These amazing rats only get better. They have pouches just like kangaroos but not for holding their
young. They have pouches on their cheek area to hold food. Including all of the seeds they eat to
sustain fluids in their body.
These awesome rats also have the legs of a kangaroo. They can jump 9 feet in one jump. They
jump this high to avoid predators. I would love to be able to jump that high when I see a rattler.
Kangaroo rats, like many desert creatures, are nocturnal. This gives them a higher risk of getting
eaten by the many other nocturnal predators. But with their many adaptations, the night is best to
scavenge for food so that they can stay cool when out and about. Because of the need for constant
cool body temperature, they plug the entrance of their burrow with soil during the day to maintain
a normal body temperature. This behavior helps with Homeostasis. Kangaroo rats are often seen in
groups or colonies in the desert wasteland. But there is no social order of any sorts, they keep to
themselves unless in mating season. Their burrows are spaced out from each other at certain
distance depending on the abundance of food in the

A Summary Of The Clash Of Civilizations
Samuel P. Huntington, who was an American political scientist and adviser, wrote The Clash of
Civilizations. The Clash of Civilizations focused on the claim that people s cultural differences and
religious identities is the primary source of conflict during the post Cold War era in the 1990 s.
Huntington believes that in the future the only reason conflict will arise will be because of the
differences in cultural identities. Furthermore, Huntington divided the world into what he calls,
major civilizations , that consisted nine civilizations: Western, Orthodox, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu,
African, Latin American, Sinic, and Japanese. He believes that conflict is created because of these
differences between the major civilizations. Then, in his work, he suggested six different reasons on
why these civilizations causes conflict with each other. These suggestions stretches from increasing
interactions across the world to having the differences in language, tradition, and religion from one
civilizationto another. Additionally, Huntington does believe that there are nine major civilizations
in the world; however, he believes that the major conflict will be within the West versus the Rest
concept. The main conflict will arise from Westernized civilizations against Non Westernized
civilizations and because of this I agree with Huntington that cultural differences around the world
separate each everyone into different civilizations. I believe that Huntington s observations about

Essay on A Reflection Upon My Writing
As a student, I write for multiple purposes. Purpose is the key for how my thoughts are dictated on
this blank white sheet. After writing this in my in class journal discussing my transition from five
paragraph writing to actual formation of thoughts without a specific format, I realized that this
process was a larger undertaking than I originally thought. Through endless amounts of essaywriting
the personal academic improvements that have taken place this quarter are indescribable in
comparison to any other academic feat made in my brief but fulfilling college career.
As a writer, I realized coming into college that my writing was not necessarily bad by any means,
but instead extremely uninteresting. After leaving the public ... Show more content on

As I received my rough draft with comments back from my teacher, my stomach dropped to the
floor in utter disgust. The amount of red pen on the paper weighed down three sheets to feel as
though I was holding an entire ream of disappointment in my hands. This is where things began
to get tough: The editing process. Taking my writing extremely personally, having to go into a
meeting with the teacher that gave me so much constructive criticism was not humbling at all, it
was just scary. As I sat in his cubicle, he was smiling. As I sit there sweating in anxious bitterness
waiting for him to tell me how he would run this teacher student conference, he smiled! Just as I
thought I was in the clear, he wanted to repeat the essay out loud so I could hear what I wrote.
Just as he said this, my stomach did not only hit the ground, but sank into the pits of Hell. As he
read I tried to stay attentive and sentence after sentence I would write down small corrections for
grammar and syntax errors. After the reading, a discussion about my writing style occurred and
this is where the ugly turned pretty. I had a list of corrections laying on my lap and for the first
time, I had someone to talk to about my writing and the corrections I needed to make. I remember
sitting there realizing sentence by sentence spewing out of my mouth, a fountain of new ideas that
I could barely get down in time before they swam away. I had never had a teacher so

Subject Matter Jurisdiction
Jurisdiction is a term that defines whether a court has the power or authority to hear and/or decide
a particular case (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.61). Jurisdiction is important because it puts
limits on the power of a court to hear certain cases. Courts cannot possibly hear every case that is
brought before them; therefore, they must use the proper jurisdictionin order to prevent confusing
and conflicting results. There are two categories of jurisdiction: subject matter jurisdiction and
personam jurisdiction. Subject matter jurisdiction gives reference to the authority of a court to
hear a particular type of case whereas, personam jurisdiction gives reference to the courts authority
over an individual or corporation (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.62). Federal courts hear cases
from any state as well as some cases where there is one party outside of the United States; however,
they are only allowed to hear cases where federal jurisdiction can be established. This basically
means that the court must have subject matter jurisdiction of the suit as well as personal jurisdiction
over the involved parties (personam jurisdiction). General jurisdiction may be present when a court
has jurisdiction over a defendant in that state regardless of the kind... Show more content on

notions of fair play and substantial justice (Lambert, 2014). In the case of Asahi, there were three
factors that were used to determine fair play and substantial justice. These factors

What Are The Long Term Causes Of The 1905 Revolution
The 1905 Russia revolution began in St Petersburg, where Father Gapon and many other working
people marched to the Tsar. They were upset with the Russian government and Tsar as he would
not share any of his power with the people. Long term factors played a major role in the march,
these included harsh working conditions for peasants and their wages. The loss in the Russo
Japanese war led to even worse working conditions, but the spark that ignited the fire of the 1905
revolution was inevitably Bloody Sunday.
A long term cause of the Bloody Sunday massacre was the harsh conditions that many Russians
suffered under. Many of the Russian peasants were very unhappy about the living conditions
that they suffered in every day. They were also very upset with how the land was divided, as
they were unable to make a reasonable profit that could sustain their family from the little strips
of land they were given. The working class were forced to live in cramped, damp, tight barracks
that offered no kind of privacy. On top of their horrible working conditions these people were
forced to work long tough days, without breaks and all for low wages that wouldn t sufficiently

The Russo Japanese war was soon to be known as the first great war of the 20th century, this war
lasted for over 18 months from 8th February 1904 to 5th September 1905. It began because of the
rival ambitions of the Russian empire and the empire of Japan over Manchuria and Korea.
Nicholas II wished to expand his Russian empire into Asia and this triggered the beginning of a
disastrous war effort for Russia. By underestimating the advancement of Japan s industrial and
military development, the Tsar humiliated her own prestigious navy and his empire on the world
stage. The war was not only humiliating for Russia but also had an economic impact on their
economy, which sparked the revolution of

Short Term Goals
Title of Your Report Tony Robbins once said goals are like magnets, they ll attract the thing that
makes them true . Goals are always needed, they help one grow in life. Having goals gives more
encouragement to someone so they can complete it. Goals can always help someone out in
different types of ways, it can be personal, academic, performance. As long as you make it a goal, it
s most likely to happen. Here are some of my own goals. There are such things as short term
goals, which are goals that can be completed within the upcoming months. These are my short
term goals. In the next year I want to keep all of my grades above a C . The purpose of this goal
is to get me to keep doing my work throughout the entire school year. This year I want to have at
least decent grades when passing, instead of barely passing. Doing extracurricular activities I
think would be fun and help me find a good college based on what I do, doing this is actually a
goal of mine. These will be fun and I hope to join the gaming and environmental science clubs....

This is a goal because it s important to me, so I wouldn t get out of high school and not know what
to do. I want to be in college within a couple of months of graduating. In a decade or so I want to
maybe be done with college and have a job, depending how long college take me. Find the job I
want to get my career going, this is another one of my goals. This is my goal for the future because
I want to get my degrees, be done with college, and be off on my way to getting the job I want as a

Cupping Therapy
Lit review: Cupping therapy is considered to be an alternative medicine that is on an upward trend
since the 2016 summer Olympic games. The current literature discusses the positive effects that
cupping therapy can bring to the current medical world. This traditional medicine has the potential
to eliminate reliance on analgesics and reduce health care costs (Chi,2015) . There is little research
done in regards to effectiveness of cupping therapy on low back pain available. Markowski,

low back pain and how cupping effects their pain levels, range of motion, and functional movement.

showed a statistical significant of cupping therapy over heating pads for pain relief and
increased cervical range of motion. Subjective reports from participants showed that neck pain in
the cupping group continued to decreased after 8 hours, but did not in the heating pad group

and large affects sizes were found at the 3 week and final check in. It is important to note that
improvements were noted in all cervical range of motions, but statistical significance was only
found in cervical extension. Through this study they were able to conclude that cupping therapy
was indeed an effective treatment for decreasing pain levels, increasing range of motion, and
improving the quality of life in the visual display terminal worker in a 7 week time

Causes Of Twenty First Century Stock Market Volatility Essay
Causes of Twenty First Century Stock Market Volatility based on the Introduction of the Internet
and Day Trading Since the late 1980 s the United States has observed several housing market
bubbles and subsequent collapses (Calabria 2011, p. 552). Also, the country has also observed a
profound increase in the trading of technologies stock (Sabherwal, Sarkar, and Zhang, 2011, p.
1210). In addition, the development of day trading has taken control of nearly half of the stock
trading industry (Chou, Wang, and Wang, 2014, p. 403). As a result, the traditional methods of
company share value evaluation no longer provide an accurate estimate of company value
(Rosenblatt and Gawronski, 2004, p. 118). The introduction of twenty first century technologies and
stock trading opportunities have created an increasingly volatile stock marketdue to the usage of the
internet for day trading.
Background
From 1990 to 2010 several factors contributed to the volatility of stock trading. The housing booms
of the late 1980 s, late 1990 s and early 2000 s demonstrated that an inelasticity in housing supply
coupled with a large increase in technologies and securities stock trading creates an unstable market
which results in a housing bubble collapse (Calabria, 2011, p. 556). Second, the introduction of the
internet resulted in 24 hour trading opportunities with open to open pricing often reflecting much
more volatile price deviation than close to close pricing, which had remained a neutral

The Shah of Bratpur in Player s Piano
One literary technique that authors often employ is to use a character who is a visitor to provide
insight into a society s culture. In Kurt Vonnegut s novel Player Piano, the author employs the
Shah of Bratpuhr in such a manner. Instead of seeing a society that is better because of its reliance
on machines, the Shah instead observes that the people of Ilium have become slaves to their
machines instead. Instead of observing a society that worships a religious God and looks to him for
inspiration and guidance, the Shah sees that Proteus world instead ridiculously worships and obeys
the dictates of the giant computer brain EPICAC. Instead of admiring Paul Proteus society for
granting worth based solely on intelligence, status, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having the distance of a visitor instead of one already immersed in the brainwashing in Ilium,
the Shah is thus able to provide insight into the ridiculousness of a society that relies on a
machine instead of humans for its knowledge and guidance. The Shah is also able to cut through
the façade presented in Ilium about the powers of the President, as a spiritual leader or
otherwise, providing insight into who or what truly holds the power in Paul Proteus world. To
underscore the significance of the Shah s insights as an outsider to Ilium, Vonnegut even has
the announcer at the ceremony say Perhaps the Shah will give us the fresh impressions of a
visitor from another part of the world, come from another way of life (120). And so the Shah
does, in ever a dramatic way, when he turns his back on the President and drops to his knees to
perform some sort of worship ritual at the foot of EPICAC, as he asks a riddle which in his
culture will identify the arrival of an all wise god (122). When he gets no response from the
machine, the Shah then likens it to Baku, or a false god. In doing so, the Shah once again
underscores how ludicrous it is for the society of Ilium to essentially worship a machine. Not only
do the people of Illium worship the machines, they also compete with the machines. Part of the
Shah s journey is to Cornell University, where he experiences more

American Agriculture Dbq
In the time period between 1865 and 1900 technology, government policy, and economic conditions
really changed American agriculture. The technology made farming more efficient, and more
profitable. Government policies both helped and hindered farmers with helping them transport their
products, but they also stole from the farmers to help make the government more money. The
economic conditions helped farmers with selling more products, and helping cities grow;along with
starving families almost to death. All of these coming together really changed American agriculture.
The new technology being made in this time period is really helping farmers in a more efficient
way. Like barbed wire, this new technology helped farmers protect their lands in the west along with
keeping control of their livestock.Other developing technologies include what is shown during a
wheat harvest in 1880 (Document D).Also the development of the train lines and trains helped
farmers move their products, from their farms to major cities where the main markets
were(Document B). From a new type of wire that protected farmers and their possessions to

Women s Rights Violations Analysis
No woman can call herself free who does not control her own body, nor can no woman call herself
free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother. Margaret Sanders, an
early feminist and birth control activist, strove greatly for women, especially in their stand for
contraceptives that would help prevent unwanted pregnancies. She understood that women become
greatly affected by the choice of having an abortion for that right alone assures them that they are in
complete control over their bodies. Denying women of this right would not only make it
unconstitutional, it would make it to where the womandoes not even have the right to decide matters
regarding her own body. Stemming from that, there have been many... Show more content on

From different aspects, there came different rights being violated and constrained. For example,
there are privacy rights, equality rights, bodily rights, reproductive rights and many more. Since
abortion is unconstitutional, it violated at least one of the amendments, which in fact, it violated
more than one. For instance, it violated the first and fourteenth amendment. It violated the first
amendment by violating women s religious freedom. Argued by Peter Wenz, he believed that it s a
religious belief to consider the fetus as a person before the twenty week gestation period, resulting
in the violation of religious freedom stated in the first amendment. The fourteenth amendment
violated the basic rights of citizens. ( Ethics: Abortion ). On the other hand, FOCA: Freedom of
Choice Act, protects women. FOCA states that every woman has the right to bear a child and
terminate pregnancy before and after viability of the fetus in order to protect the mother s life.
Along with FOCA, women have body sovereignty, which is when women have the right to decide
matters regarding her body. Having the choice over whether or not to have children is vital to
women s independence and ability to determine their own futures ( Rights of fetus ). Restrictions
on abortion can take away the rights of women and the aspect of equality rights. Women become
deprived of their equalities in education, social life, and economic life due to childbirth and having
to raise children against their will. The restrictions set forth the layout of the mother s life,
therefore, taking away her equal rights to her own life( Equality Arguments ). With the case of
minor mothers, there are some restrictions set because they re underage. For instance, in 37 states,
minor mothers wishing to get an abortion need parental involvement, in 26

The Dangers Of Fear In The Chrysalids By John Wyndham
Reading a book about where hate is shown for those who are different makes you realize that we
ourselves, do not live in a much different society. Waknuk is a place where if anything abnormal
appears along the lines of their definition of normal, the consequences could lead to as serious as
death. The Chrysalidswritten by John Wyndhamis a clear warning for today s society portraying
the same problems and deficiencies. All in all, the people of Waknuk face constant prejudice,
intolerance, and ignorance. There is a relentless lack of compassion and the novel invites its readers
to understand how fear can shape the hearts and manipulate society.
The novel coincides with today s society through its intolerance towards others which also comes
along with prejudice and ignorance. Within the novel, the people of Waknuk do not accept the
abnormalities defined from their views and faith. They do not tolerate the fact of others being
different from them and are quick to eliminate them from society giving you the impression of

The Effects Of Noxious Weeds On Rangeland
The Effects of Noxious Weeds on Rangeland
Seth Robbins
Noxious weeds can be very harmful to all aspect of rangeland. They can outcompete native
grasses and forbs causing a loss of forage to livestock and wildlife. A large number of noxious
weeds have been purposely introduced to the United States for purposes such as food, forage,
fiber and decorative ground cover. Programs have been created to help with the invasion of
weeds. It s taken lots of time and resources to get programs started up to be able to combat the
effect of noxious weeds.
Noxious weeds have an adverse effect on the rangeland, if left unchecked they could overwhelm
and destroy all of the native grasses. A large amount of the noxious weeds that are causing issues
today in rangeland and public lands. Were at one time introduced for other purposes to either
rangeland or non rangeland areas. These noxious weeds are costing large amount of money to
combat their invasion onto rangeland, public, and private lands. Weeds are able to take over
developing areas because of the removal of native grasses or forbs and then leaving bare soil
exposed. Many weeds thrive when bare soil is present and after they have gotten their hold on the
area it s very difficult to remove them form it completely. Invasive species have been brought into
the United States, some on purpose to help fill a needed use and then latter getting out of control
and creating a mess of what they have done to waterways,

The Crisis Management Lesson From Toyota And Gm
The Crisis Management Lesson from Toyota and GM: It s Our Problem the Moment We Hear
About It
Delay in confronting crises is deadly. Corporate leaders must have processes for learning of
important safety issues. Then they must seize control immediately and lead a systematic response.
Crisis management is the ultimate stress test for the CEO and other top leaders of companies. The
mantra for all leaders in crisis management must be: It is our problem the moment we hear about
it. We will be judged from that instant forward for everything we do and don t do.
These are key lessons for leaders in all types of businesses from the front page stories about Toyota
s and GM s separate, lengthy delays in responding promptly and fully to reports of deadly accidents
possibly linked to product defects.
The news focus has been on regulatory investigations and enforcement relating to each company,
but the ultimate question is why the company leaders didn t forcefully address the possible defect
issues when deaths started to occur.
On the recent regulatory front:
Toyota just agreed to pay $1.2 billion in a deferred prosecution agreement with DOJ and accept a
safety monitor for failing to disclose to regulators and indeed misleading them about accelerators
that became stuck on certain types of floor mats or because of certain elements in the accelerator
itself. The problem of uncontrolled speeding and deadly crashes began to appear in 2007, but it
took four years, and deceptive

Essay on The Silences in Mansfield Park
The silences in Mansfield Park reveal the nature of each character. Fanny s silences reveal her

Fanny, feeling all this to be wrong, could not help making an effort to prevent it. (93) Fanny
begins to act as Maria s conscience, but Maria won t allow Fanny to be her conscience. She jumps
and follows Henry away from her principles like her brother followed Henry s sister.
Fanny continually remains in the background for the duration of the play. Fanny listens to each

Satire In Animal Farm
Compare how George Orwell and the Cartoonist (image below) utilise satire to communicate
social issues and ideas. Both Animal Farm by George Orwell and the Cartoon utilize satire to
communicate social issues and ideas extremely effectively. This is demonstrated by how they
represent the rise and balance of power in society. The effect is achieved by the use of symbolism
to represent different societal issues that occur in different historical settings. They both also used
satireto demonstrate language and visual techniques to portray key issues in society. Firstly, Animal
Farm and the Cartoon demonstrate the rise and balance of power in society through the use of
symbolism. To utilize satire effectively George Orwellused symbolism in Animal Farm to shows
how power can change people. This is shown by the quote He carried a whip in his trotter. The
whip is the symbol of power as the whip in the beginning of the novel is shown as Jones s control
over the animals. Later in the novel when Napoleon is using the whip again, it demonstrates to the
audience how the power that he had at Animal Farm eventually changed him. The symbolism of
the whip demonstrated how he began to abuse the power he had acquired to control the other
animals. This abuse of power is a societal issue that can relate to many different historical
settings, which is why Animal Farm is so relevant to this era. George Orwell also used the
symbolism of animals to give a clear and accurate representation of the balance of power in
society without directly talking about a real life historical events which is a clear example of
satire. The method that George Orwell used to represent his ideas were also shown in the Cartoon.
The Cartoonist used symbolism of the microphone, podium and suit to demonstrate the politician
who is supposed to be leading his people just like how Napoleon was leading the animals. The
Cartoonist also used the symbolism of the people holding the government up to demonstrate how
there is a balance of power. If the people were not standing on the plank than the government would
fall. This demonstrates that the government only has power over the people because the people
allow them to which is a social issue that

How Did The Byzantines Conquer Other Empires
The Byzantines created a weapon, Greek Fire, no person knew how to put the fire out. The
Byzantine Empire joined the 4th Crusade but in the end they lost many of their own land to the
Bulgarians. They joined the religion of Eastern Orthodox and when they conquered additional
empires they would make them convert to Eastern Orthodox. The Byzantine Empirewas the capital

without a really powerful weapon. The Greek Fire was one super weapon that could be able to
destroy the walls and no other empire had a super weapon to destroy it. The Byzantine Empire did
have a super weapon. The Ottomans destroyed the walls with a super weapon of their own which
through the Byzantines off guard. When they got through the walls, they conquered them and that
was the end of the Byzantine Empire. When the Napalm bomb was created the only one that knew

jelly mixture which would burn longer, would be harder to put out and would stick to the

Tb Is A Treatable And Curable Disease Essay
Although the epidemiology is concerning, TB is a treatable and curable disease. The WHO has
detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which specifies that successful TB treatment requires
accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long
term compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive
phase of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase
include rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide(PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF
and INH being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug
sensitive TB disease has been in widespread use for over 20 years, and has achieved cure rates of
more than 95% in trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which
include the lengthy duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the
development of drug resistance, have significantly limited its use. (12)
Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid
and rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the anti TB regimen. The treatment of
MDR TB usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB
agents. (13) A lot of medications used in the treatment of MDR TB are classified as second line
because of a high risk of intolerance, reduced potency and a worse side effect

The Role Of Social Norms In Jerzy Kosinski s
Jerzy Kosinski s novella Being There depicts how social norms affect the socialization of
individuals and displays individuals ability to alter their presentation of self within particular
situations. Kosinski plays with symbolism and the power of names by presenting the character
Chance, who self identifies himself as the gardener, and who acquired his name by being born by
chance. Chance, renamed as Chauncey Gardiner by his peers, has limited social and
communication skills due to being bound to his home with the Old Man, who took him in from
birth. Chance now acting as Chauncey takes on the social role of an upper class, intelligent,
business man, prompting him to be thrown into the world of politics with the elite. Surprisingly,

This miscommunication was caused by Chance s attempt to follow social cues and mirror the
actions he saw depicted on television. Although he did not always understand social situations fully,
Chance s ability to adapt to the change in his social environment is due to the skills and norms he
learned from watching television at the Old Man s home. Despite a few moments of confusion,
Chance acting as Chauncey was able to convince those around him that he was a businessman with
insight on economics, not that he was just faking it. The character Chance takes on the public role
of Chauncey Gardiner in Jerzy Kosinski s novella Being There, showcasing Goffman s

Social definition of aging and the elderly It is considered senior to any person who is 65 or
older. However, it is necessary to warn about the arbitrariness of this decision: why are not
estimated 60 years, or 70, as the lower limit when classifying this population group?. The
relieved exercise of combining from the age of 65 to the elderly with the retirees cannot be
taken as a solid criterion since it has become a common practice in our societies to invite many
workers to leave the labor market at a later age early; not forgetting that there are plenty of
people who never retire because, either materially or formally, they have never been inserted in
such a market. In any case, does anyone who has 65 years of age respond to the same
sociological profile (characteristics such as his health, educational level, economic position,

?. Absolutely. In addition to being arbitrary, it is an artificial decision because no one gets up one

Pros And Cons Of Vice President Joe Biden
This week, speculation about a potential presidential run from Vice President Joe Biden has

Beau, has caused him to reconsider running in the 2016 election. She reports that he has been

the credibility of the report is not good. But it has ignited a debate this week over whether the 72

Biden is well liked by nearly everyone in Washington and his supportive role in the Obama
administration has helped his stature. He s seen as an authentic and funny guy. While Biden
makes a great Onion headline and uncle, his vulnerabilities make him not a great candidate for
president. Biden s previous presidential campaigns have been terribly executed. In 1988, Biden
plagiarized speeches from a British politician, destroying any chance of a successful campaign.
Biden ran for president in 2008 as well, earning less than one percent of the vote in Iowa. Biden
s foreign policy and national security record is slim at best. Obama s first secretary of defense
wrote that he found him nearly always wrong on issues of foreign policy and national security.
Despite recent drop in polling numbers, over 75 percent of Democrats support Hillary. She s
garnered more endorsements at this stage of the election than any modern era. She s raised 68
million dollars. Biden doesn t have a significant advantage over Hillary in the general election. If
voters are tired of Obama and Democrats, they re tired of Biden as well. His age is also a
hinderance as well. While Americans aren t concerned about a 72 year old executing the duties of
vice president, most don t know what a vice president does. Biden would be 74 on the date of his
potential inauguration. Reagan was nearly 70. If for some reason Clinton bombs out of the race,
Biden is the candidate with the best odds. But until then, the odds of him winning the Democratic

identity Grant (cited in Muller, 2014). It originates from the deep sense of belonging to one s

Sidel, Enrich, and Fitzpatrick discuss what lead to the collapse of Washington Mutualback in 2008.
Leading up to the collapse of Washington Mutual, the downfall of the housing market was
impacting the mortgage portfolios of Washington Mutual. A month before the collapse the bank
tried to auction itself off, with little to no offers. Washington Mutual s customers began pulling
out their deposits, reaching $16.7 billion in just a couple days after Lehman Brothers had filed for
bankruptcy protection on September 15, 2008. Because of the overwhelming amount of deposits
that had been pulled from the bank, Washington Mutual did not have enough cash or liquidity
resources to meet their obligations and in turn proved to be an unsafe bank to do business with.
The FDIC rapidly set a deadline for offers by parties interested in taking over the bank on a
Wednesday instead of the usual Friday that the FDIC has been known to do in the past. Eventually
on that Thursday, J.P. Morgan bought Washington Mutual for $1.9 billion. J.P. Morgan was able to
start business in states that they had not been apart of before including California and Florida,
where Washington Mutual had over 900 branches located.

The Problem Of Substance Abuse
The problematic situation that brings a client to seek counseling is not often seen clearly by the
client or others that may be associated. This is the reason that a therapist must use various
assessment tools to determine potential disorders that may be the root to a problem. Though at
times a client may seek counseling with a known substance abuseissue there are more cases where
a client is oblivious to the potential contribution that substance abuse has on the problem that
help is sought for. Understood that substance dependency is nondiscriminatory to age, gender,
race or creed, a therapist approaches the matter with the client knowing that a problem is
recognized and there is a hope for a solution being sought by the client. At the same time it is
also known that an addictive personality will be protective of this disorder, producing a
defensive posture and plausible deniability. A therapist must assess the potential of such a
disorder existing and the readiness of the client to change within the initial interview.
Chamberlain (2013) notes that it is initially important to ask a client directly about his or her use
of drugs (p. 125). The interview process will assess the proper screening that must take place in
order to derive a proper diagnosis for treatment. Five such tools used by therapists to screen and
assess a client differ in various ways depending on the client s age and willingness.

pursuing.
This car accident led me to have PTSD, which stands for post traumatic stress disorder. It is a
disorder that follows a traumatic event. It made me into who I am today because even though it
happened nine years ago I still feel the effects as if it happened yesterday. For example, when my
friend s dad was also in a bad car accident and I went with them to see the car I had an anxiety
attack because I had flashbacks. I went months with nightmares and whenever I saw something
that reminded me of that day I would shut down. PTSD made something that people do so
effortlessly into something absolutely terrifying for me which is driving. I still can t drive in big
cities like Sioux City ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I saw how the paramedics worked quickly and efficiently to take care of my unconscious and
bleeding dad, shocked mom, and my aunt who was ejected even while wearing a seatbelt to the
hospital. Even though that sounds gruesome it was because of this that I have always wanted to
pursue a career in the medical field and specifically a paramedic. It shaped me into who I am today
because it makes me want to be able to help people when tragedy strikes or whenever they are in
need just like those paramedics helped my family. I want to be able to repay all that was done for
my family and I by pursuing this job. Knowing that I can make a difference in people s life is what
drives me through this tough career. Those paramedics acted quickly and very sufficiently by
knowing what to do without hesitation and that dedication is what motivates me to continue on
reading that extra chapter to be ahead, and to study 10 plus hours a

The Censorship Of Singapore ( Mda )
The practise of censorship the restriction of ideas, action or image through the control of the media
or any other medium of expression. Censorship should be practised sensibly so that it will not
restrict the development and expression of new ideas while ensuring that social and political
harmony is assured. Censorshipplays a vital role in maintaining the morals of its society and
creating an economically dynamic, socially cohesive and culturally vibrant nation. (N.A, N.D)
The press exert a significant influence on the public and is partly responsible for the views and
values that many hold. Hence, it should be responsible with what it put forth to the public.
Singapore has gradually moved from film censorship to film classification and now to the focus
on media literacy. Media Authority of Singapore (MDA) plays a significant role in regulating and
conducting matters pertaining to the media. It is guided by legislation/acts such as Media
Development Authority of Singapore Act, code of practice and guideline to comply and enforce
the entities. In this term paper, we will discuss how the media handle censorship and classification
related matters as well as reviewing the Films Appeal Committee under the films act policy. In this
regard, recommendations will also be given on how to improve the clause.
The media environment has undergone major changes, driven largely by the forces of technology,
media convergence and globalisation. (Media Development Authority, 2014) As

Commentary On A Police Series Episode Essay
Commentary On A Police Series Episode
The commentary I am going to write about is on a police series called the Bill. The Bill first
started in 1983 and quickly came a national institution, renowned for its real life feel, likeable
characters and accessible short story format but things have changed since then.
It is heading in a new direction bidding for larger audiences by making the Bill an all out serial with
longer running plot lines.
The particular episode I am writing about attracted a whopping 8.6 million viewers and shocked
the nation. In this episode P.C. Des Taviner threw a petrol bomb through his inspector s office
window.
The main characters are Sergeant June Ackland. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Earlier on that day, Des Taviner placed some counterfeit money into Inspector Conway s
memorial fund. He had also been killed by the racist gang. Taviner was intent on destroying the
money so he decided to throw a petrol bomb into the office. His actions cause 6 other officers to
be killed. It was a shocking spectacle. Later on Taviner claimed someone from the gang climbed the
wall and through the bomb at him. He was cleared for then but the past soon caught up with him.
There was only one officer who saw what Des did but he died in the result of the bomb blast. Most
of the other members of the station were not harmed although some were slightly injured.
The camera angles vary at different points of the scene. If two people are having a conversation
then you would have a medium shot from a high angle. If the shot is designed to focus attention
on someone s facial expression then the camera will have a close up of his face. When Des
threw the bomb the camera would have had a high angle and a close up view to express the size
of the bomb blast. Then would have had a close up of Taviners facial expression. The camera
would zoom slowly to create suspense and climax. This way the audience will be at the edge of their
seat. This sort of scene would be at the end of

Using one case in Latin America, illustrate what the biggest obstacle to democracy is.
A history of militarism and colonialism are the biggest obstacle to democracy in South America.
Using the case of Argentina, this paper will be discussing how its famous history of militarism and
consequent military rule has undermined the concept of a democracy. I will then go into detail
about the certain aspects of military rule, ( The Dirty War , gross economic mismanagement and
patron client relationships), that make it such an obstacle to democracy. I shall also try and explain
how a history of colonialism has made Argentina more susceptible to military rule than perhaps
other countries in the region.

This mix created a new race known as the Criollos Argentine born Spaniards as opposed to the
Peninsulares who were born in Spain. As the population of Criollos grew to outnumber the
Peninsulares the gap between political agendas grew and grew. With the incentive of the
Peninsulares to maintain order and governance over a two tiered system that gave them a high
position in society. As you would imagine, the Criollos had no such plans to maintain this
imperialist system that gave them few rights and opportunities. This growing tension led to
revolution.
The Spainish empire, riddled with economic mismanagement and corruption, saw its power of the
world stage greatly reduced. When Napoleon turned on his ally Spain, imprisoning the Spanish
royal family, chaos was unleashed across Spanish America. In 1810 the Spanish viceroy, a regal
official who ran the country, was deposed. In 1816 Argentina was declared Independent.
One of the most damaging things about colonialism is the effect when the colonisers leave. Many
institutions are often abandoned as been the case in many examples of post colonialism most
notably in Africa and South America. Argentine nationals, left with little political knowledge and
framework found it difficult to establish an united nation. The loss of Spanish rule led to anarchy
and a civil war that would last 50 years.
One of these causes for the intense civil war may be a Latin American

Wilbur s Airplane Flaw
Wilbur and Orville Wright faced many problems and challenges when striving to complete
development of the first ever motorized Aircraft, a lot of times, the problem was the weather. The
weather conditions in KillDevil Hills often included mainly rain. Also, the wind was sometimes
much too light to actually give the 625Lb. aircraft any lift. The problems that the Wright brothers
faced were not only the weather conditions but the airplane itself. When they first tested the
motor, it vibrated too much and it broke the propeller shafts. The propeller shaft was very
important because it was responsible for making the propeller spin. They had it repaired by Charlie
Taylor in Ohio. When they received the aircraft back, they decided to test

Directors Duties And Company Law
Directors Duties and Company Law
Introduction
A managing/ executive director is the chief day to day manager of the company s affairs who is
directly involved in the management of the company. A company on the other hand, is a
voluntary association of person formed for doing some business and can be either public or
private. Law according to (Gates 2002) is the set of rules that guides our conduct in society, is
enforceable through public agencies, and obeyed because of the belief that they are right or rather
for the desire of approval from others. Company Law is therefore, rules relating to the formation
of companies and in China, it is generally accepted for it has played an important role in
restructuring State owned enterprises and in improving the business environment. (Gu, 2010).
(Mangal 1995) purports that, Company Law has grown substantially in volume , coverage and
complexity over the years and success consolidations and amendments have sought to increase the
protection of investors and persons who deal with companies. Breach of duty is therefore breaking
the Company Law. Simone s Breaches of Director s Duties and Defences
To whom does Simone owe duties?
Directors according to (Baxt et al 2005), owe a fiduciary duty to the company. They say fiduciary
according to the High Court of Australia is the duty to act honestly, in good faith, and to the best of
the directors ability in the interests of the company. In this context they note, the director must not

He d noted the manner in which his sibling s fingers deliberately brushed Goldie s skin as she slipped back into the dress, and decided it best not to speak. Edmund wasn t certain he d be able to control his anger and annoyance if he did. That damn Walt, always interfering. The elder boy s mood wasn t assisted by the smirk Walt threw in his direction as he grasped the young woman s elbow; the woman Edmund himself had just recently been holding and kissing; as if to lay claim to her, or the mocking tone of his voice as he instructed his brother to collect Goldie s belongings. As he stared, and curled his hands into fists first under the water, the elder Bear thought that his face must be brighter than the scorching, blood red sun of earlier that day, and his words, when he finally mustered the composure to speak, were uttered through clenched teeth. I n the early 1930s, Johns hired an architect named Edmund Campbell and several students from the University of Virginia to survey the home. Surveying the grounds of Ash Lawn Highlands, the students developed a drawing for Johns that displayed the structure in its original state. Construction of the home under the ownership of Johns involved the building of the one story portico porch on the faГ§ade of the original structure and the building s grounds . They don t live in the same environment though. They are one of many creatures in their climate, but they are one of the smallest too. Kangaroo Rats have a variety of environments they can live in. These environments are very similar though. All have very dry climates, such as the desert scrub, open grasslands, and sandy soils. They live in small holes and burrows that they dig in the dry sandy ground. They re in the mammalia class. This means that they re furry and are warm blooded. They look like small tan colored mice. Kangaroo rats, like many desert creatures, are nocturnal. This gives them a higher risk of getting eaten by the many other nocturnal predators. But with their many adaptations, the night is best to scavenge for food so that they can stay cool when out and about. Because of the need for constant cool body temperature, they plug the entrance of their burrow with soil during the day to maintain a normal body temperature. This behavior helps with Homeostasis. • 6. A Summary Of The Clash Of Civilizations Samuel P. Huntington, who was an American political scientist and adviser, wrote The Clash of Civilizations. The Clash of Civilizations focused on the claim that people s cultural differences and religious identities is the primary source of conflict during the post Cold War era in the 1990 s. Huntington believes that in the future the only reason conflict will arise will be because of the differences in cultural identities. Furthermore, Huntington divided the world into what he calls, major civilizations , that consisted nine civilizations: Western, Orthodox, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, African, Latin American, Sinic, and Japanese. He believes that conflict is created because of these differences between the major civilizations. Then, in his work, he suggested six different reasons on why these civilizations causes conflict with each other. These suggestions stretches from increasing interactions across the world to having the differences in language, tradition, and religion from one civilizationto another. Additionally, Huntington does believe that there are nine major civilizations in the world; however, he believes that the major conflict will be within the West versus the Rest concept. The main conflict will arise from Westernized civilizations against Non Westernized civilizations and because of this I agree with Huntington that cultural differences around the world separate each everyone into different civilizations. After writing this in my in class journal discussing my transition from five paragraph writing to actual formation of thoughts without a specific format, I realized that this process was a larger undertaking than I originally thought. Through endless amounts of essaywriting the personal academic improvements that have taken place this quarter are indescribable in comparison to any other academic feat made in my brief but fulfilling college career. The amount of red pen on the paper weighed down three sheets to feel as though I was holding an entire ream of disappointment in my hands. This is where things began to get tough: The editing process. Taking my writing extremely personally, having to go into a meeting with the teacher that gave me so much constructive criticism was not humbling at all, it was just scary. As I sat in his cubicle, he was smiling. As I sit there sweating in anxious bitterness waiting for him to tell me how he would run this teacher student conference, he smiled! After the reading, a discussion about my writing style occurred and this is where the ugly turned pretty. • 8. Subject Matter Jurisdiction Jurisdiction is a term that defines whether a court has the power or authority to hear and/or decide a particular case (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.61). Jurisdiction is important because it puts limits on the power of a court to hear certain cases. Courts cannot possibly hear every case that is brought before them; therefore, they must use the proper jurisdictionin order to prevent confusing and conflicting results. There are two categories of jurisdiction: subject matter jurisdiction and personam jurisdiction. Subject matter jurisdiction gives reference to the authority of a court to hear a particular type of case whereas, personam jurisdiction gives reference to the courts authority over an individual or corporation (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.62). Federal courts hear cases from any state as well as some cases where there is one party outside of the United States; however, they are only allowed to hear cases where federal jurisdiction can be established. This basically means that the court must have subject matter jurisdiction of the suit as well as personal jurisdiction over the involved parties (personam jurisdiction). They were upset with the Russian government and Tsar as he would not share any of his power with the people. Long term factors played a major role in the march, these included harsh working conditions for peasants and their wages. The loss in the Russo Japanese war led to even worse working conditions, but the spark that ignited the fire of the 1905 revolution was inevitably Bloody Sunday. A long term cause of the Bloody Sunday massacre was the harsh conditions that many Russians suffered under. Causes Of Twenty First Century Stock Market Volatility Essay Causes of Twenty First Century Stock Market Volatility based on the Introduction of the Internet and Day Trading Since the late 1980 s the United States has observed several housing market bubbles and subsequent collapses (Calabria 2011, p. 552). Also, the country has also observed a profound increase in the trading of technologies stock (Sabherwal, Sarkar, and Zhang, 2011, p. 1210). In addition, the development of day trading has taken control of nearly half of the stock trading industry (Chou, Wang, and Wang, 2014, p. 403). As a result, the traditional methods of company share value evaluation no longer provide an accurate estimate of company value (Rosenblatt and Gawronski, 2004, p. 118). The introduction of twenty first century technologies and stock trading opportunities have created an increasingly volatile stock marketdue to the usage of the internet for day trading. Background From 1990 to 2010 several factors contributed to the volatility of stock trading. The housing booms of the late 1980 s, late 1990 s and early 2000 s demonstrated that an inelasticity in housing supply coupled with a large increase in technologies and securities stock trading creates an unstable market which results in a housing bubble collapse (Calabria, 2011, p. 556). Second, the introduction of the internet resulted in 24 hour trading opportunities with open to open pricing often reflecting much more volatile price deviation than close to close pricing, which had remained a neutral ... In Kurt Vonnegut s novel Player Piano, the author employs the Shah of Bratpuhr in such a manner. Instead of seeing a society that is better because of its reliance on machines, the Shah instead observes that the people of Ilium have become slaves to their machines instead. Instead of observing a society that worships a religious God and looks to him for inspiration and guidance, the Shah sees that Proteus world instead ridiculously worships and obeys the dictates of the giant computer brain EPICAC. The Shah is also able to cut through the faГ§ade presented in Ilium about the powers of the President, as a spiritual leader or otherwise, providing insight into who or what truly holds the power in Paul Proteus world. To underscore the significance of the Shah s insights as an outsider to Ilium, Vonnegut even has the announcer at the ceremony say Perhaps the Shah will give us the fresh impressions of a visitor from another part of the world, come from another way of life (120). And so the Shah does, in ever a dramatic way, when he turns his back on the President and drops to his knees to perform some sort of worship ritual at the foot of EPICAC, as he asks a riddle which in his culture will identify the arrival of an all wise god (122). When he gets no response from the machine, the Shah then likens it to Baku, or a false god. In doing so, the Shah once again underscores how ludicrous it is for the society of Ilium to essentially worship a machine. Not only do the people of Illium worship the machines, they also compete with the machines. Part of the Shah s journey is to Cornell University, where he experiences more ... Women s Rights Violations Analysis No woman can call herself free who does not control her own body, nor can no woman call herself free until she can choose consciously whether she will or will not be a mother. Margaret Sanders, an early feminist and birth control activist, strove greatly for women, especially in their stand for contraceptives that would help prevent unwanted pregnancies. She understood that women become greatly affected by the choice of having an abortion for that right alone assures them that they are in complete control over their bodies. For example, there are privacy rights, equality rights, bodily rights, reproductive rights and many more. Since abortion is unconstitutional, it violated at least one of the amendments, which in fact, it violated more than one. For instance, it violated the first and fourteenth amendment. It violated the first amendment by violating women s religious freedom. Argued by Peter Wenz, he believed that it s a religious belief to consider the fetus as a person before the twenty week gestation period, resulting in the violation of religious freedom stated in the first amendment. The fourteenth amendment violated the basic rights of citizens. ( Ethics: Abortion ). On the other hand, FOCA: Freedom of Choice Act, protects women. FOCA states that every woman has the right to bear a child and terminate pregnancy before and after viability of the fetus in order to protect the mother s life. Along with FOCA, women have body sovereignty, which is when women have the right to decide matters regarding her body. Having the choice over whether or not to have children is vital to women s independence and ability to determine their own futures ( Rights of fetus ). Restrictions on abortion can take away the rights of women and the aspect of equality rights. Women become deprived of their equalities in education, social life, and economic life due to childbirth and having to raise children against their will. The restrictions set forth the layout of the mother s life, therefore, taking away her equal rights to her own life( Equality Arguments ). • 19. The Crisis Management Lesson From Toyota And Gm The Crisis Management Lesson from Toyota and GM: It s Our Problem the Moment We Hear About It Delay in confronting crises is deadly. Corporate leaders must have processes for learning of important safety issues. Then they must seize control immediately and lead a systematic response. Crisis management is the ultimate stress test for the CEO and other top leaders of companies. The mantra for all leaders in crisis management must be: It is our problem the moment we hear about it. We will be judged from that instant forward for everything we do and don t do. These are key lessons for leaders in all types of businesses from the front page stories about Toyota s and GM s separate, lengthy delays in responding promptly and fully to reports of deadly accidents possibly linked to product defects. • 20. Essay on The Silences in Mansfield Park The silences in Mansfield Park reveal the nature of each character. Fanny s silences reveal her inner self, the core of morals. They reveal that while Fanny looks like a timid, frail being but inside she possess a set of principle that are unyielding to any outside force. Through her silence, Fanny becomes the selfless conscience of Mansfield Park. Fanny is strong willed in her steady continual silence. She is sole unmoving thing in a fluid, ever moving time. Fanny grew up in a large, ever growing household, where quiet was so hard to come by. In the Price household, Fanny was the opposite of her family. She was timid and shy; they were rambunctious. Henry starts to tempt Maria into doing something against what her principle should allow her to do. Fanny, feeling all this to be wrong, could not help making an effort to prevent it. • 21. Satire In Animal Farm Compare how George Orwell and the Cartoonist (image below) utilise satire to communicate social issues and ideas. Both Animal Farm by George Orwell and the Cartoon utilize satire to communicate social issues and ideas extremely effectively. This is demonstrated by how they represent the rise and balance of power in society. The effect is achieved by the use of symbolism to represent different societal issues that occur in different historical settings. They both also used satireto demonstrate language and visual techniques to portray key issues in society. Firstly, Animal Farm and the Cartoon demonstrate the rise and balance of power in society through the use of symbolism. To utilize satire effectively George Orwellused symbolism in Animal Farm to shows how power can change people. This is shown by the quote He carried a whip in his trotter. The whip is the symbol of power as the whip in the beginning of the novel is shown as Jones s control over the animals. Later in the novel when Napoleon is using the whip again, it demonstrates to the audience how the power that he had at Animal Farm eventually changed him. The symbolism of the whip demonstrated how he began to abuse the power he had acquired to control the other animals. This abuse of power is a societal issue that can relate to many different historical settings, which is why Animal Farm is so relevant to this era. George Orwell also used the symbolism of animals to give a clear and accurate representation of the balance of power in society without directly talking about a real life historical events which is a clear example of satire. The method that George Orwell used to represent his ideas were also shown in the Cartoon. The Cartoonist used symbolism of the microphone, podium and suit to demonstrate the politician who is supposed to be leading his people just like how Napoleon was leading the animals. The Cartoonist also used the symbolism of the people holding the government up to demonstrate how there is a balance of power. If the people were not standing on the plank than the government would fall. This demonstrates that the government only has power over the people because the people allow them to which is a social issue that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The WHO has detailed guidelines for the treatment of TB, which specifies that successful TB treatment requires accurate early diagnosis, drug resistance screening, HIV screening, correct drug selection and long term compliance. (1) The current first line treatment for drug sensitive TB includes an intensive phase of 2 months and a continuation phase of 4 to 7 months. The drugs used in the initiation phase include rifampicin (RIF), isoniazid (INH), pyrazinamide(PYR) and ethambutol (EMB), with RIF and INH being continued until MTB is eradicated. (1) This four drug treatment regimen for drug sensitive TB disease has been in widespread use for over 20 years, and has achieved cure rates of more than 95% in trial conditions. (5) However, this regimen also has unwanted aspects, which include the lengthy duration of the treatment, the side effects the drugs and, more concerning, the development of drug resistance, have significantly limited its use. (12) Furthermore, management of MDR TB poses a bigger challenge, since resistance to isoniazid and rifampicin precludes the use of two key drugs in the anti TB regimen. The treatment of MDR TB usually involves a combination of drugs chosen from first line and second line anti TB agents. The relieved exercise of combining from the age of 65 to the elderly with the retirees cannot be taken as a solid criterion since it has become a common practice in our societies to invite many workers to leave the labor market at a later age early; not forgetting that there are plenty of people who never retire because, either materially or formally, they have never been inserted in such a market. • 40. PTSD And Its Impact On My Life If there s one event that has made a huge impact in my life it would have to be a roll over car accident that my parents, aunt, and I were when I was in sixth grade. This car accident has impacted me negatively by leaving me with PTSD and positively by figuring out what career I am pursuing. This car accident led me to have PTSD, which stands for post traumatic stress disorder. It is a disorder that follows a traumatic event. It made me into who I am today because even though it happened nine years ago I still feel the effects as if it happened yesterday. For example, when my friend s dad was also in a bad car accident and I went with them to see the car I had an anxiety attack because I had flashbacks. I went months with nightmares and whenever I saw something that reminded me of that day I would shut down. PTSD made something that people do so effortlessly into something absolutely terrifying for me which is driving. I still can t drive in big cities like Sioux City ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I saw how the paramedics worked quickly and efficiently to take care of my unconscious and bleeding dad, shocked mom, and my aunt who was ejected even while wearing a seatbelt to the hospital. Even though that sounds gruesome it was because of this that I have always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field and specifically a paramedic. It shaped me into who I am today because it makes me want to be able to help people when tragedy strikes or whenever they are in need just like those paramedics helped my family. I want to be able to repay all that was done for my family and I by pursuing this job. Knowing that I can make a difference in people s life is what drives me through this tough career. Those paramedics acted quickly and very sufficiently by knowing what to do without hesitation and that dedication is what motivates me to continue on reading that extra chapter to be ahead, and to study 10 plus hours a ... • 43. Commentary On A Police Series Episode Essay Commentary On A Police Series Episode The commentary I am going to write about is on a police series called the Bill. The Bill first started in 1983 and quickly came a national institution, renowned for its real life feel, likeable characters and accessible short story format but things have changed since then. It is heading in a new direction bidding for larger audiences by making the Bill an all out serial with longer running plot lines. The particular episode I am writing about attracted a whopping 8.6 million viewers and shocked the nation. In this episode P.C. Des Taviner threw a petrol bomb through his inspector s office window. The main characters are Sergeant June Ackland. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Earlier on that day, Des Taviner placed some counterfeit money into Inspector Conway s memorial fund. He had also been killed by the racist gang. Taviner was intent on destroying the money so he decided to throw a petrol bomb into the office. His actions cause 6 other officers to be killed. It was a shocking spectacle. Later on Taviner claimed someone from the gang climbed the wall and through the bomb at him. He was cleared for then but the past soon caught up with him. There was only one officer who saw what Des did but he died in the result of the bomb blast. Most of the other members of the station were not harmed although some were slightly injured. The camera angles vary at different points of the scene. If two people are having a conversation then you would have a medium shot from a high angle. If the shot is designed to focus attention on someone s facial expression then the camera will have a close up of his face. When Des threw the bomb the camera would have had a high angle and a close up view to express the size of the bomb blast. Then would have had a close up of Taviners facial expression. The camera would zoom slowly to create suspense and climax. This way the audience will be at the edge of their seat. This sort of scene would be at the end of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A history of militarism and colonialism are the biggest obstacle to democracy in South America. Using the case of Argentina, this paper will be discussing how its famous history of militarism and consequent military rule has undermined the concept of a democracy. I will then go into detail about the certain aspects of military rule, ( The Dirty War , gross economic mismanagement and patron client relationships), that make it such an obstacle to democracy. I shall also try and explain how a history of colonialism has made Argentina more susceptible to military rule than perhaps other countries in the region. Democracy is a word used a lot in ... As the population of Criollos grew to outnumber the Peninsulares the gap between political agendas grew and grew. With the incentive of the Peninsulares to maintain order and governance over a two tiered system that gave them a high position in society. As you would imagine, the Criollos had no such plans to maintain this imperialist system that gave them few rights and opportunities. This growing tension led to revolution. The Spainish empire, riddled with economic mismanagement and corruption, saw its power of the world stage greatly reduced. When Napoleon turned on his ally Spain, imprisoning the Spanish royal family, chaos was unleashed across Spanish America. In 1810 the Spanish viceroy, a regal official who ran the country, was deposed. In 1816 Argentina was declared Independent. One of the most damaging things about colonialism is the effect when the colonisers leave. Many institutions are often abandoned as been the case in many examples of post colonialism most notably in Africa and South America. Argentine nationals, left with little political knowledge and framework found it difficult to establish an united nation. The loss of Spanish rule led to anarchy and a civil war that would last 50 years. One of these causes for the intense civil war may be a Latin American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Wilbur s Airplane Flaw Wilbur and Orville Wright faced many problems and challenges when striving to complete development of the first ever motorized Aircraft, a lot of times, the problem was the weather. The weather conditions in KillDevil Hills often included mainly rain. Also, the wind was sometimes much too light to actually give the 625Lb. aircraft any lift. The problems that the Wright brothers faced were not only the weather conditions but the airplane itself. When they first tested the motor, it vibrated too much and it broke the propeller shafts. The propeller shaft was very important because it was responsible for making the propeller spin. They had it repaired by Charlie Taylor in Ohio. When they received the aircraft back, they decided to test ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
