Essay On My Friend
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay On My Friend" might seem deceptively simple at first
glance. After all, who knows one's friend better than oneself? However, the challenge lies in
presenting a comprehensive and engaging portrayal of one's friend while balancing personal
insights with objective observations.
Firstly, there's the inherent subjectivity involved. One's perception of a friend is deeply
influenced by personal experiences, biases, and emotions. Trying to encapsulate the essence of a
friendship in a structured essay format requires careful introspection and reflection. It's not just
about listing positive attributes or memorable moments but delving deeper into the complexities
of the relationship.
Then comes the dilemma of what to include and what to leave out. Every friendship has its
highs and lows, quirks, and idiosyncrasies. Deciding which aspects to highlight and how to
strike a balance between portraying one's friend authentically without compromising their
privacy or trust is a delicate task.
Moreover, there's the challenge of maintaining reader interest. While the essay is about a
personal connection, it should resonate with a broader audience. This necessitates crafting a
narrative that is not only relatable but also compelling, perhaps by weaving in anecdotes or
insights that offer universal truths about friendship.
Furthermore, the pressure to do justice to the friendship adds another layer of difficulty. The
essay is not just about writing; it's about honoring a meaningful relationship. The fear of
misrepresentation or inadequacy can be daunting, leading to writer's block or self-doubt.
In essence, while the topic may seem straightforward, writing an essay on "Essay On My Friend"
entails navigating through a maze of subjectivity, selectivity, relatability, and emotional
investment. It's a task that demands both introspection and storytelling prowess to capture the
essence of a cherished bond in words.

Gender Stereotypes Of The Sexes
Stereotypes of the Sexes Feminist: the person who believes in the social, political,
and economic equality of the sexes. Sexual stereotypes are deeply imbedded into
today s society. Ideals of the gender roles are passed down from generation to
generation, creating a gap between what is socially acceptable for a woman to do
and what is expected of a man. One thousand years ago humans chose dominance by
physical capability, simply because it was essential for our survival, but the world
has evolved. One thousand years ago physical strength was the most important part of
survival for humanbeings. Men in general are physically stronger therefore it made
sense to have a man lead. The world humans live in has evolved and is no longer run
by the physically entailed, but by the most intelligent or creative(Adichie). Though
this world has evolved, the genderexpectations and stereotypes have stayed the
same. Sexual stereotypes in America limit men and women to abide with,by the
expectations of masculinity and feminism, create a sense of shame for women,
and create a gap in today s job industry. Men are raised in a world that expects them
to stay in this box of masculinity. Men are expected to be disconnected from their
emotions, because men don t cry . We teach men to be afraid of vulnerability,
because they are expected to be tough men(Adichie). Men are supposed to be sexual
beings, while women are the emotional ones. In reality, both women and men have

Army Officers Learn From The Military Decision Making
Process
C171 Argumentative Essay Army officers learn from the onset of their careers the
important role they play as problem solvers. The various military institutions tasked
with providing education to the officer corps spend vast amounts of time teaching
and reinforcing the Army Problem Solving Process. With that being said, Army
officers at all ranks would be better served if they were able to incorporate the eight
elements of thought as defined by Drs. Paul Elder into the military decision making
process. Although encompassed within the Army problem solving process, officers
often fail to identify and incorporate the tenets of thought when making decisions
resulting in potentially adverse consequences. The following examples will highlight

When Army leaders identified the headgear as a problem, they failed to articulate
their reasoning and ultimate objectives behind the transition, thereby, creating
confusion amongst the troops. The failures to take into account other points of
view, especially from units to which the beret was an exclusive item, made the
public relations campaign a nightmare. Army leaders improperly assumed the beret
switch would be minimally disruptive and generally accepted. To the contrary,
displeased Soldiers from units like the Army Rangers marched from Fort Benning,
Georgia to the U.S. Capital to voice their displeasure over the issue. From a
practical standpoint, many Soldiers found the beret switch ill conceived. In order
to don the beret, it generally required the Soldier to have their hands free so that
they could properly place and shape the beret onto their head. It also provided no
protection from the elements like the patrol cap offered and cost millions of extra
dollars to field. The implications of this decision would have been obvious had they
been considered during the Problem Solving Process. In response to a scathing
survey commissioned years later by Sergeant Major of the Army, Raymond Chandler,
the Army reversed course and reverted back to the patrol cap. Had the proper
questions been considered from the beginning and all relevant facts been presented

Specific state and federal laws and regulations govern psychological record keeping.
To the extent possible, this document attempts to provide guidelines that are generally
consistent with these laws and regulations. In the event of a conflict between these
guidelines and any state or federal law or regulation, the law or regulation in question
supersedes these guidelines. It is anticipated that psychologists will use their
education, skills, and training to identify the relevant issues and attempt to resolve
conflicts in a way that conforms to both law and ethical practice. That statement was
taken from the APA American Psychologist Association in regards to the record

The reason why I chose boxing rather than the other options provided was because
my uncle does boxing. Another reason why I was interested in boxing was to see
how boxing could relate to judo since Sensei described how Professor Leon Jay
was an innovator using judo, boxing, and jujitsu. Boxing techniques are somewhat
similar to judo, especially the pivoting of the body and defenses. I usually hear and
see my uncle shadowbox while practicing his footwork and punches and sometimes
he d teach me a bit here and there. While he was teaching me how to position
myself in a proper stance, how to move, and where to place my arms, I just thought
to myself that this was a difficult sport to master. It was just like the beginning of
judo for me. Every step, position, and body placement are critical to how you
perform during sparring. From what I read and what I hear from my uncle, the
workout is more strenuous. I m not quite sure if I want to put up with a ten pound
ball smacked against my abdominal region for a couple of sets. Although I wouldn t
mind learning boxing for the reasoning of self defense and to improve on my
footwork that may also help with judo. Especially with the shuffling from left to right
mentioned in the book, the movement reminded me of the taikabashi that we
practiced during class. While reading the section of ring strategy and boxing
Essay about Existentialists in the Television Show...
Children across the world enjoy the television show Spongebob for its loveable
characters and humor. The most prominent of these characters is Spongebob
Squarepants, a personified sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea, in a
town called Bikini Bottom. He spends the majority of his time working as a chef at
the Krusty Krab, a fast food restaurant run by a greedy crab named Mr. Krabs.
Spongebob s neighbor and co worker, Squidward Tentacles, has a very cynical view
of life, constantly complaining about Spongebob and praising the clarinet and other
arts. Across from Spongebob lives his best friend, Patrick Star, a starfish known for
little intelligence and extensive sleeping. Most episodes, he and Spongebob act on a
new idea which leads... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Epicureans avoid pain as much as possible, for they believe that since pleasure
should rule one s life, pain would ruin the contentment. Since squirrels do not
belong under water, Sandy constantly wears a protective outfit. When her friends
taunt her in the episode Pressure, she takes off her helmet, but she soon realizes
that importance lies with safety, not seeming normal to her friends ( Pressure ).
Mr. Krabs stores his money under his mattress, as shown in the episode The Lost
Mattress, because he does not trust banks to keep his pressure money safe, and he
fears the pain of losing it. While both of the aforementioned characters live as
content Epicureans, other characters on the show have a less desirable reality.
Existentialism also exists in the show in the form of Squidward and Patrick.
Existentialists believe that a God does not exist to create meaning for everyone, so
one must create one s own life meaning. Squidward s purpose lies in playing the
clarinet and other art forms like painting and interpretive dance. Spongebob. Patrick
also discovers his life s meaning in the episode Big Fat Loser. He attempts to find a
purpose by copying Spongebob s every move, but he soon realizes that what best suits
him is sleeping, his favorite activity. Another characteristic of Existentialism is
anxiety, for Existentialists cannot often pursue their interests. In the episode
Squilliam Returns, Squidward expresses his
Michael Hoffman Play
In Michael Hoffman s film the events take place in Italy, instead of Ancient Greece
from the book. He might have done this because Italy has more of a romantic
feeling to it which help made the symbol of love more prevalent. Specifically,
during the wedding scene when all 3 couples were getting married they were all in
the front row of the church sitting next to the one they were getting married to. The
lighting was bright because they we inside celebrating a happy event. This is
scene is more enjoyable because you all the couple are next to each other so, you
can see their reaction to Pyramus and Thesis play. It helped shine light on the
characters and helped the audience relate themselves to the characters. The setting
controls the characters by their actions. The park square s play, directed by Elena
Ganneti, however had a different representation. The stage was set up where
Hippolyta, Thisbe and the Philostrate were sitting in chairs that were placed directly
in front of the stage and sitting by the audience to watch the play. This was done that
way because it made it seem like Pyramus and Thisbe... Show more content on

As the viewer I couldn t tell whether it was real or not. When Titania and Bottom
first saw each and Titan immediately fell in love with Bottom who looked like an
ass head because of the potion the setting was magical and you could tell that it
was fairy land. At one point Bottom was trying to leave, but Titania used nearby
vines to pick up Bottom by is legs so he would stay. When the characters were
falling asleep together, they laid on a flowery bed by a tree trunk and the
background lighting was dim. Everything surrounded them was trees and flowers as
Hoffman wanted it to look magical. This scene was entertaining mainly because of
the realistic setting and how it captured my interest. It established the mood and
atmosphere of the scene and developed more on the
Pepsi Of Coca Cola Company Essay
A great question arose in the 80 s as a constant innovation and aggressive behavior
arose towards brand building. Pepsi, a brand that suffered two bankruptcies,
pushed forwards towards their growth as the company by expanding their portfolio
as a Food and Beverage Company. As it became a food and beverage company,
Pepsi was able to become the Coca Cola s main competitor. Each company
constantly competed and tried to outdo each other with their campaigns. While
both brands competed with each other, Pepsi began to target Coca Cola s
commercials causing Coca Cola to respond with the same aggressive behavior
creating the beginning of the Cola Wars. The Cola Wars brought forth a great
question that made one wonder if either Coke was better than Pepsi or if Pepsi was
better than Coke? Based off the Cola Wars, the best soft drinkproducer is the Coca
Cola Company.
The Coca Cola Company contains more value than Pepsi. According to an article
in Coca Cola.com, Coca Cola has retained the No. 3 spot on Interbrand s annual
Best Global Brands ranking for the fourth consecutive year, with an estimated
value of $73.1 billion, proving that the brand coke falls under the list of the most
valuable brands which is worth up to $73.1 billion dollars unlike, Pepsi that is only
worth 19.4 billion dollars. The Coca Cola Company does not only own the coca
cola brand, but has also recently purchased many other brands in order to improve
the revenue growth of the company. It owns 16.7 % of the
Bud Light Marketing Strategy
The Bud Light brand is second to none when it comes to light beer and a good time.
Although, first considered a flop in the United States after its introduction in 1982,
Bud Light surged up the charts after a rebranding effort in 1986. The Gimme a Light
campaign by the D Arcy McManus Mansius agency altered the brandspath forever.
Since then, Bud Light has drastically increased its market share while still
maintaining its success in the global light beer and beverage market.
Using clever and borderline juvenile material Bud Light has seen much success in
their targeted consumers in American males of the ages 18 49. With great success
we believe Bud Light has the potential to increase its reach and share by advancing
marketing opportunities to females and exploiting their other product lines. In doing
so Bud Light must take a different approach from its perceived masculinity to an all
around and more suitable approach to our female audience.
We recommend that Bud Light stays within its usual approach to target its younger
male audience, but offer women something different when it comes to their product
such as their flavored Bud Light Ritas, Bud Light Lime, and Bud Light Chelada. The
goals are to increase market share, profits and awareness of new products.
With a campaign centering around the summer 2018, Bud Light will try to become
the essential brand to accompany both men and women during the hot summer
months. The budget is about $20 Million through the use of
When I Start Playing Guitar Analysis
1. When and why did you start playing?
I started playing when I was 10, my older brother introduced me to heaps of different
music especially 80 s 90 s punk and I loved it... I loved everything from punk to pop
really, I d lay in bed at night listening to the radio trying to record my favorite songs
on my walkman and wanted to play it just seemed like a natural thing to want to do...
I ve never really thought why I began, I just loved music !!
2. Which instruments do you play?
I play guitar and piano, I learnt guitar first when I was 10 and piano later when I
started producing. Electronic music and the process of writing is largely based
around the use of some type of key board or sampler so I think that skill just comes
about. I still write a lot of my music on guitar and use [a] piano to recreate them ...

Basically, every awesome memory I have involves music... But things like my first
band (which was called Two Odd Socks ha), we use to jam in my garage or my
mates back room and those days were unforgettable, and my younger days going to
concerts with my older bro... there is nothing I would trade for those memories.

Octopus Evolution
People have been comparing the octopus to an alien life form for years most notably
mollusk expert Martin Wells, grandson of H.G. Wells, who ate his subjects after he
experimented on them.
Wells anecdotally referred to octopuses as the only alien intelligence that humans
have encountered. But try as he might, Wells who devoted his life to the study of
cephalopods could not tap the origins of the creature s intelligence.
Now, a new breakthrough in octopus genome mapping has revealed that the strange
creatures have more secrets than we ever realized.
Scientists at the University of Chicago, the University of California at Berkeley, and
the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology have fully mapped the DNA
sequencing of the Bimac octopus, better known as the California two spot octopus. ...

Alien????? Everything Octopus
For starters, the DNA of an octopus contains nearly 10,000 more gene codes than that
of a human. Various clusters of these gene codes perform different tasks and octopus
genes are specially equipped to do very versatile things. For instance, six different
octopus gene codes combine to produce an octopus s ability to rapidly camouflage
itself. Another gene type, protocadherin, allows the development of neurons and
neural transmissions.
Most mammals, including humans, only have 70 or so protocadherins. The octopus
has 168. And the octopus has one of the largest gene families devoted to
development of any animal we ve mapped so far second only to the elephant.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the DNA of an octopus is essentially like a road
map where the road signs keep hopping around. The octopus has an extremely large
number of jumping genes, called transposons, that can easily change their position in
a protein chain. Researchers also found evidence in the octopus s RNA suggesting
that they can easily alter their own protein sequences. In the researchers press release,

By appealing to the reader s emotions, Parks uses pathos to encourage the reader to
want to stop such tragedies from occurring. Parks is also credible, by being a well
known photographic essayist who has grown up knowing the struggle of poverty
and racism himself. Parks gains impact by mentioning in detail the way that Flavio s
family lives, and what a usual day consists of, for his family. Though he offers no
solutions, just the presentation of the struggles of one child, Parks emphasizes
specifically how the rich ignore the plight of these impoverished people, facing the
other direction by comparing the lifestyle in Parks hotel, and Flavio s home.
Evidently, Parks builds a strong interpretation of the rising population of poverty,
bringing a new perspective and meaning to the reader. The use of distinct details
lets the reader imagine exactly what wants to be visualized by Parks, describing
grimy walls that had large gaps, and floors, rotting under layers of grease and dirt
(Parks 2). Since Flavio s parents are away for most of the day, he is left with chores
to do until dark when he finally came back, his body sagging, ready to end the day
(Parks 2). Parks word choice creates immediacy, as if the reader were in Flavio s
shoes, constantly struggling to support a family. This lets readers obtain a greater
meaning of poverty, that can be reestablished and shared

Research Paper On Sikhism
Unlike other religions, Sikh faith is not dogmatic; it is a distinct and unique religion.
The Sikh Scripture is true Religion of Self where everyone has a personal
relationship with God. It does not place any emphasis on pilgrimage, praying in a
particular direction, praying on a particular day, fasting, meaningless rituals, idol
worship, superstition, body mutilation, asceticism or celibacy.
Sikhism focuses on unity with God. Sikhism instructs to be one with God through
meditation and simple, ethical and moral lifestyle. While some religions practice
animal sacrifice, fasts, pilgrimage, omens and other rituals, Sikhism instructs that
there is no need of such ritual because we can meet God with pure love towards Him.
Sikhism also instructs that one is responsible for his own actions. He cannot wash
away his sins by just going to pilgrimages or taking a holy bath. Only God can
forgive humans of their sins and meditation on God is the only way to receive God s
grace.
In Sikhism, ethics and religion go together. The inculcation of moral qualities and the
practice of virtue in everyday life is a vital step towards spiritual development.
Qualities like honesty, compassion, generosity, patience, humility etc. can be built up
only by diligence and perseverance. Sikh Gurus showed how to live a family and
social and still be close to God. Their lifestyle serves as an example to all Sikhs.
Sikhism is a modern, logical, and practical religion. It believes that normal family life

I believe the proper way to minister in this context is to connect with some of the
existing establishments and groups of people to rally together to start the change in
the community. As a Community Organizer I had the privilege of networking and
affiliating with various community organizations in Kankakee. I plan to utilize
former contacts and to create new relationships with people that want to see a positive
change in the community regarding youth violence and delinquency. I believe that
being in contact with the Kankakee Police Department, mayoral candidates,
churches, ministerial groups, residents, parents, and youth is a starting point for me.
I am coming into the community as a former resident, but I will not assume to
know the specific problems that the residents feel are responsible for youth violence
and delinquency. I will be open to hear their thoughts, write down suggestions, and
work to form a committee that would like to work on creating solutions to this
problem. As a subset to this committee I will also organize a youth committee that
will pull together resources in the community that they feel are apart of the solution
and also brainstorm ideas on creating a bigger solution. We will utilize the youth to
speak their voice and to be hands on in making the change for themselves and their
peers. We will support the youths so that they feel that they have all of the proper
tools and resources that they need. I feel that being an activist for our community is a

Common Predictors Of Agricultural Adoption
Several factors that were considered are accepted as common predictors of
agricultural adoption in developing countries. However, three questions related to
explanatory variables were not included in the final questionnaire. Firstly, we did not
consider access to bank loans because coffee farmers in Mexico are mostly unable to
obtain investment credit from lending institutions. Coffeeproducers usually have the
option of obtaining short termfinancing (cash advances) either from local traders or
from coffee cooperatives for those who are members. However, the availability of
long term credit has virtually disappeared making it difficult for producers to defer
the costs of implementing over several years (AMECAFE, 2009).
Secondly, land tenure arrangements were not factored into the model since the
communal land system in Mexico (ejidos) remains the dominant type of ownership
especially in the rural areas of the south (Brown, 2004). Households in the sampled
area continue to work the land under this traditional system and therefore the
inclusion of a variable to capture tenure security could amount to model
misspecification.
Thirdly, analysis of the data indicated that all surveyed producers affiliated with a
farmer association had received extension support through their membership whereas
no independent producer had participated in any form of training . In addition, all of
those surveyed who had indicated they were members of a producer organization
belonged to organic

Young earth creationism is what most people mean when referring to creationism.
This is primarily due to the fact that the creationists most visible in the public eye
during the creation evolution debate were most likely to hold young earth creationist

to this same position. These terms clearly define their position as one in which the
creation of the world occurred somewhat recently, that is, the world is young.

The next point Nelson and Reynolds make is one of disagreement between young
earth and progressive creationists. Concerning the impact of the curse in Genesis 3,
young earth creationists typically view this point to be the entrance of all death and

period of time between the creation of the world and the introduction of sin into the
world. Because of this length of time, progressive creationists consider animal death
and suffering to have occurred long before the first humans sinned. The question of
animal death and suffering prior to the fall of mankind is one that will be discussed
in further detail when looking at the old earth positions
According to Nelson and Reynolds, the strongest point of contention between young
earth and progressive creationists is that of the flood. Young earth creationists
generally view the account of the flood as actually having occurred. Other positions,
however, progressive included, consider it a metaphor, or myth which has theological
implications, but does not describe any actual historical events.

The Differences and Similarities Between the...
The African Slave Trade has affected a very large part of the world. This
phenomenon has been described in many different ways, such as slave trade, forced
migration and genocide. When people today think of slavery, many envision the
form in which it existed in the United States before the American Civil War (1861
1865): one racially identifiable group owning and exploiting another. However, in
other parts of the world, slaveryhas taken many different forms. In Africa, many
societies recognized slaves merely as property, but others saw them as dependents
whom, eventually might be integrated into the families of slave owners. Still other
societies allowed slaves to attain positions of military or administrative power. Most
often, both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To increase production, a family had to invest in more labourers and thus increase
their share of land. The simplest and quickest way to do this was to invest in
slaves. To help service this demand, many early African societies conducted slave
raids on distant villages, this was with the idea of having Africans work for
Africans but ones of a different ethnic background, and after slavery was abolished
by Europe domestic slavery grew, many slaves were made to work on clove
plantations in Zanzibar for example.
Women constituted the majority of early African slaves. In addition to agricultural
work, female slaves carried out other economic functions, such as trading and
cotton spinning and dyeing. They also performed domestic chores, such as
preparing food, washing clothes, and cleaning. Powerful African men kept female
slaves as wives or concubines, and in many societies these women stood as
symbols of male wealth. Male slaves typically farmed and herded animals. Those
who belonged to wealthy families and especially of ruling lineages of states also
worked as porters and rowers, and learned crafts such as weaving, construction, and
metalwork. Domestic slaves worked for the royal families, some male, and fewer
female, slaves held positions of high status and trust within their societies. In pre
colonial states in the interior of West and Central Africa, slaves often served as
soldiers and confidants of high officials. With their necessarily limited ambitions and
Female Sex Offenders
Most people tend to overlook women sex offenders compared to men who are sex
offenders. Women are just as likely to be a sex offender just as men are. Typically,
women sex offenders tend to prey on their students if they happen to be a school
teacher. This gives them the access to hundreds of under aged children every school
year that they can prey on sometimes, be in an intimate relationship with them. When
someone hears something regarding a sex offender, we typically automatically
assume it is a male who committed the act and the crime. Males tend not to report
their victimization, which may affect statistics. Some men even feel societal pressure
to be proud of early sexual activity, regardless of whether it was unwanted, according
to The United States... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
About ninety five percent of people who are unwilling being forced into sex are
usually young women. Many people tend to stereotype women being caring,
harmless, and trusting compared to men. While the rates of sexual acts being forced
by women are lower compared to men, they do still commit the illegal activity upon
others. Many female sex offenders tend to be younger aged compared to male sex
offenders. The average age of female sex offenders is about thirty six years old and
tend to be friends, family, or acquaintances of the victim. Female sex offenders tend
to persuade their victims easier than male sex offenders since females are usually
motherly and nurturing, making them seem more trustworthy. It tends to be more
difficult to distinguish a female sex offender compared to female sex offenders.
Female sex offenders are usually under reported, unrecognizable and considered more
ethically acceptable than male abuse, according to an article on
The Hunger Relief Organization At The Puyallup Food
Bank
Introduction
According to Feeding America, a U.S. Hunger Relief Organization, over 50 million
people suffer from hunger in America. Although a complex issue, nonprofit
organizations such as food banks make tremendous contributions each year toward
combating hunger. Unfortunately, the majority of food donated to the Puyallup Food
Bank located in Puyallup, Washington is heavily processed. A heavily processed diet
can lead to nutritional deficiencies in fiber, calcium, iron and vitamins. These
nutrients are vital to human survival.
Additionally, during non holiday months, donations to the Puyallup Food Bank
decrease considerably. To change this and help the food bank receive sufficient
nutritional food donations year round, team 6 decided to repurpose Sarah Pike s
research project.
Using Ms. Pike s research, we realized the Puyallup Food Bank had issues in
communicating its needs effectively with the community. To assist in correcting this,
we felt the design of a simple, visually interesting call to action pamphlet would be an
appropriate tool.
To accomplish the creation of this pamphlet, we broke the collaboration up into four
tasks:
Write a project justification statement
Develop the pamphlet content through delegated research assignments
Design the pamphlet
Test the pamphlet effectiveness by obtaining feedback finalizing the content
Our overall goal in completing this project is to create an effective pamphlet that will
educate the residents of Puyallup,
Essay On Inner Conflict In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
In Act IV of Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare uses characterization to show
how inner conflict can affect mankind s attitude toward certain events in their lives
and can change how react to those events. Juliet s character changes a great deal
throughout the play. From being a loving daughter, to a lover, to someone who is
willing to break the rules and even die for Romeo, she is ever changing. When she
realizes she must marry Paris she immediately goes to the extreme about what she
will have to do to avoid doing so; that extreme is committing suicide. She begs Friar
Laurence to, Give me some present counsel, ( 4.1.61) of what to do in this situation
and if he does not, this bloody knife shall play the umpire, (4.1.62 63) and kill
herself. The conflict inside of her makes her not think rationally and her immediate
attitude and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is, at first, still extremely angry that she would defy him, and believes she is, a
peevish self willed harlotry, (4.2.14), but is still forcing her to be married. The role
he takes and how he feels about the marriage because it will giver the Capulet s
money, is his sole motivation and his attitude toward the marriage is that it must
happen no matter what. The action of forcing her to be married and his attitude
toward Juliet, threatening to kick her out of the house if she doesn t marry Paris,
is what leads to Juliet drinking the potion and eventually her death. But, when he
believes she is dead after she drinks the potion he is utterly distraught, believing,
...with my child my joys are buried (4.5.64) and his attitude is changed from one of
joy to one of grief. He is conflicted with the fact when Friar Laurence tells them to
celebrate that she is in heaven, but he is still upset of how the happy wedding feast,
will turn to being sad. He also shocked with Juliet s death and seems to regret
wishing death on her earlier and calling her an awful

his left arm torn clean off. Beowulf, the brave hero, has rid the Danes of their

conceived as an epic, retold and sung by many called scops before finally being

With incredible strength, Beowulf rips off a single arm of Grendel s using nothing
but his hands and sends him away to die in his lowly cave. They celebrate the
name of Beowulf the next day with feasts oblivious to what has happened within

King Hrothgar is portrayed first to be similar to that of a sleazy senior, drunk and
with no worries on mind to distract him sided with his young queen who seems to
be married only in name to him, excusing herself from his attempts for her to bear
an heir. On that opening night in Hrothgar s castle hall, those inside enjoy the
hearty food and loud, jovial chanting that wakes the deformed childlike creature
with seemingly powerful eardrums protruding from his head causing him to
scratch away at the ache in them. The door is busted open, all lit flames
extinguished upon a shriek heard outside and a blue fire swirling around Grendel
when he enters. Instantly, he begins his rampage, leaving only Queen Wealtheow
and King Hrothgar alone even with his proclamation of Fight Me! that only causes
Grendel to scream in anguish and leave. For, again, 12 years, the hall is left empty
and only Beowulf was the one able to lift their curse. He arrives with his men just the
same, Wiglaf who is only formally introduced later
Product Placement
Product placement, or embedded marketing, is a form of advertisement, where
branded goods or services are placed in a context usually devoid of ads, such as
movies, the story line of television shows, or news programs. The product placement
is often not disclosed at the time that the good or service is featured. Product
placementbecame common in the 1980s.
In April 2006, Broadcasting Cable reported, Two thirds of advertisers employ branded
entertainment product placement with the vast majority of that (80%) in commercial
TV programming. The story, based on a survey by the Association of National

Publisher P. S. Harrison s editorials strongly reflected his feelings against product
placement in films. An editorial in Harrison s Reports criticized the collaboration
between the Corona Typewriter company and First National Pictures when a Corona
typewriter appeared in the film The Lost World (1925).[15] Harrison s Reports
published several incidents about Corona typewriters appearing in films of the mid
1920s.
Among the famous silent films to feature product placement was Wings (1927), the
first film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. It contained a plug for Hershey

Another early example in film occurs in Horse Feathers (1932) where Thelma Todd s
character falls out of a canoe and into a river. She calls for a life saver and Groucho

Analysis of The Canon s Yeoman s Tale Essay
Summary and Analysis of The Canon s Yeoman s Tale (The Canterbury Tales)
Prologue to the Canon s Yeoman s Tale:
When the story of Saint Cecilia was finished and the company continued on their
journey, they came across two men. One of them was clad all in black and had been
traveling quickly on their horses; the narrator believes that he must be a canon (an
alchemist). The Canon s Yeoman said that they wished to join the company on their
journey, for they had heard of their tales. The Host asked if the Canon could tell a
tale, and the Yeoman answers that the Canon knows tales of mirthand jollity, and is a
man whom anybody would be honored to know. The Host guesses that his master
was a clerk, but the Yeoman says that he is something... Show more content on

Chaucer introduces two new characters, the Canon and his Yeoman. The Canon is
an imposing figure, a mysterious and intimidating character who differs greatly
from the Canterbury pilgrims, who are either jovial and boisterous or quiet and
respectable. The Canon is nearly silent, yet his reticence does not stem from
chivalric honor or religious principles. He is a man of menacing action afraid to be
definitely identified as part of his dubious profession. This automatically marks him
as different from the other travelers, who primarily exist as part of their particular
job and accept it, even when that line of work В as in the cases of the summoner and
the pardoner В is not respectable.
The Canon s Yeoman serves as the voice of his master, but that voice proves
inadequate. The Canon s Yeoman reveals too much about his master and then turns
on him, condemning the Canon for his fraudulent practices.
The Canon Yeoman s Tale:
The Canon s Yeoman admits that he has served the Canon for seven years and
knows a great deal about his craft. He warns that anybody who becomes involved
with a canon will suffer similar miseries: losing one s wealth and esteem. He tells
about the wicked craft of alchemy from which they try to gain wealth. He claims that
there is a canon of religion of how an alchemist can defraud a person. He then begins
his tale of a priest in London who was visited by a false canon who begged for a
loan. Two days
Cultural Relevance, Understanding And Education
Cultural relevance, understanding and education are the key areas that modern
museums seem to be addressing seriously. As a public institution a museum must
consider its role in society, the way culture is represented and displayed and most of
all, how interpretation affects those not of museum training backgrounds, for
example a visitor or patron. Some would argue that art, is an expression of a culture
and its political and economic values (Hein 2006), while others would suggest that is
the artifacts of long lost peoples and cultures that have the most worth to the public
(Sabeti 2015).
The mixture of these two mediums seems like an obvious step in achieving
reinterpretation, presenting political messages, and displaying the importance ... Show

(Stam 1993). One way this may be interpreted is that a shift towards a more open,
interactive style of museum exhibition should be the starting point of exhibition
planning and execution.
The discussions and in some cases successful installations of eco museums for
example, represent the ever shifting and changing people and cultures, instead of the
static and non changed ancient cultural heritage of forgotten civilizations and their
material culture. The eco museum provides no exclusion of peoples or histories. With
some limited success in exposing the cultures of ever changing people and customs to
a larger audience in eco museums, other historical institutions have frankly missed the
mark. The new museology started with the intention of introducing a new philosophy
around how museums function and a changed relationships between museums and
their societies and communities (McCall and Gray 2014).
The framework suggested in the museology based on how a new function of
museums can be achieved, really leaves one to ponder just how effective the
application of literature surrounding these ideas can actually be when put into
practice. There is no clear checklist of steps to achieve such a change in the
framework and context of a museum as an educational institution, as a cultural
reference or as an open public forum, so the missing re interpretation can sometimes
be taken on by an

Predator Prey Lab Report Essay
PREDATOR PREY RELATIONS LAB Background Research: Predators and prey
are organisms that interrelate, and they can influence on another s success in
reproduction. Predators are organisms that consume other organisms their prey.
These two organisms evolve together. They live in an environment where they must
develop certain adaptations to survive. When an adaptation is developed, it gives an
organism certain physical characteristics that create an advantage for survival and
can come to dominate in a population. An adaptation aids survival by either
decreasing a prey s chance of being eaten, or by increasing a predator s chance of

Repeat this process for each generation and make the proper adjustments required
for each. 7. At the end of the lab, share your data with the class and add up the
number of prey killed. Observations: In certain parts of the field, the grass was very
tall and the prey that were in that area were very difficult to find. Because of this
many predators ignored the grassy areas which caused a lot of competition for
prey in the other areas of the field. Certain prey such as the corn was easily
concealed in the grass because of its small size. However, in the dirt area, the color
of the corn really made it stand out. In the dirt area of the field, the pinto beans
were concealed because its camouflage characteristics allowed it blended in with the
dirt, but it stuck out in the grass. The black beans were small black so it was
concealed it both the grass and the dirt. The lima

Creation Myths Compare And Differences Of Creation
Stories
Creation Myths Compare and Contrast Essay For thousands of years, scientists
have tried to interpret the concept of creation. However, before people had access
to modern scientific equipment, they told creations stories. A creation story is a
myth that explains how and why the earth was made. A few cultures with differing
opinions on creation are Europeans, Cherokee Indians, West Africans, and
Hawaiians. Europeans tell the story of Genesis and God creating the earth in seven
days and Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Cherokee Indians believe that the
earth was created by a water beetle. In West African culture, they teach the Golden
Chain story, and Hawaiians have the Kumulipo story to explain their beliefs on
creation. Although each story follows a basic guideline, they all have distinct
disparities. Throughout the plot of these four creation stories, it is visible that
each culture has varying beliefs on how land was developed. For example,
Cherokee Indians conclude that land was created by a water beetle who sculpted
soft mud, where as Hawaiians believe that land emerged from the slime in the
ocean. Both Europeans and West Africans teach that a supreme being used his or
her powers to form land. In Genesis, God was responsible for the land, whereas in
the Golden Chain story, a creature called Obatala was deemed accountable for
creating the land. One similarity betweens these stories is that they all begin in an
almost identical setting. In every myth except for
John Kennedy Toole s A Confederacy Of Dunces
John Kennedy Toole s novel A Confederacy of Dunces, set in New Orleans in the
1960s, features a unique main character named Ignatius J. Reilly. Ignatius, whose
father passed away when he was still young, struggles to find and maintain
employment to support both himself and his mother, Mrs. Reilly. He spends his
days attending movies and searching for work, which he finds at Levy Pants and
again at Paradise Vendors. During Ignatius s journey, he exhibits many negative
qualities and refuses to change them. Two of these qualities particularly stand out
with respect to his character: gluttony and feebleness. Ignatius s primary vice is
gluttony. All of Toole s characters serve as satirical interpretations of different
stereotypes affiliated with certain types of people. Ignatius, an obese white man, is
portrayed as a slob who depends on his mother, acts entitled, and eats everything in
sight. For example, when Mrs. Reilly goes out and buys him twelve doughnuts, all
he leaves are ...two withered pieces of doughnut out of which ... the jelly had been
sucked (Toole 39). This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main character Ignatius J. Reilly is the personification of several prejudices
about overweight white men. Two of these are gluttony and feebleness, which
Ignatius recognizes but refuses to change throughout the course of his adventures.
Ignatius would become a more relatable human and more attractive to the other
characters if he considered his thoughts and actions more carefully. If he were to
think about how claiming that someone injured him might make that person feel, he
could use compassion to decide not to make such a comment. Additionally, if he
were to consider the choices he makes with respect to his health, he would be
inclined to abstain from gluttony. While Ignatius may not serve as a role model, one
can certainly learn from his
Superstring Theories
My interests in physics surround the central theme of developing a unified
description of the fundamental laws of the universe that is based on underlying
symmetries and devoid of free, dimensionless parameters. Superstring theories are
one class of theory that endeavours to provide such a description. My graduate
research has included projects in both theoretical developments using type IIB
supergravity (SUGRA), as well as its application via the AdS/CFT correspondence.
A string theory description of a standard model type theory is only made possible by
the intro duction of D branes as sources of background flux in compact extra
dimensions. The dynamics of the D branes and the fluxes supported by the branes
themselves are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We showed that including backreacting D3 branes in warped compactifications did
not produce divergences in the effective action and so represented a consistent
theory from dimensional reduction. Due to the self duality of the five form field
strength (i.e. F5 = ⋆F5), we were able to describe the D3 brane compensators in
terms of either electric like charge sources via d ⋆ F5 = ⋆Je with dF5 = 0, or
magnetic like charge sources via dF5 = ⋆Jm with d ⋆ F5 = 0. We further showed
that other moduli of warped compactifications, such as the universal volume modulus
and its associated axion considered in [5], could be recast in terms of electric or
magnetic descriptions similar to the D3 branes.
In ongoing work with A. Frey, I am continuing to develop the description of
monopole like sources in extra dimensions. As an application, we consider a
magnetic monopole in Minkowski spacetime. By writing the field strength as the
sum of a local source term plus a global total derivative, we are able to derive the
magnetic analogue of the Lorentz force law without the need of non physical dual
potentials.
One of the most widely recognized results to come from string theory is the gauge
/gravity cor respondence [6]. The most famous AdS/CFT duality is between classical
gravitation in AdS5Г—S5 and a superYang Mills SU(N) gauge theory living on the
conformal boundary of AdS5. However, the duality exists more
Pros And Cons Of Drone Attacks
On February 4, 2002, for the first time, an unmanned predator drone was used in an
air strike near the city of Khost in the Paktia province of Afghanistan. Three men
were killed in the strike, although the target of the mission, Osama Bin Laden, turned
out to not be there. There has been much debate as to whether the benefits of drone
warfare outweigh the risks, however there are more pros then cons to drone warfare
(Powers).
The use of drone strikes has increased over the years. Only 50 strikes were
approved by the Bush administration, whereas the Obama administration approved
506 strikes (Powers). Drone strikes haven proven to be very useful. They helped to
bring down a huge terrorist threat to the United States. According to Michael V.

American Intelligence in the Age of Terror, drone strikes disrupted terrorist plots
and reduced the original Qaeda organization along the Afghanistan Pakistan border
to a shell of its former self. . Drone strikes were crucial in stopping Osama Bin Laden
. The strikes worried the leadership of Al Qaeda, and they wanted to stop operations
and go into hiding. Drone strikes have succeeded in causing fear throughout Al Qaeda
and taking out many members of the organization, making any losses well worth it
(Hayden).
One major downfall in using drones in warfare is the loss of civilian lives, but the
military takes many steps to prevent this. It is debated as to
The Application Of Hardware And Software
Introduction
Throughout the semester, the class was composed of lectures and recitations where
we learn to use MatLab, PSpice, and myDAQ. After ten recitations, we were assign a
group project that demonstrated the knowledge we had gained throughout the
entirety of the course. Although we had the option to choose from the following
three detention circuits: a resistor thermistor voltage divider circuit, a phototransistor
resistor voltage divider circuit, or a standard PC microphone driving the audioInput
of the myDAQ, my group opted out towards the PC microphone detention circuit.
Within the PC microphone detention circuit, the microphone should have been able
to detect three different states of noise. The first state consists of the microphone
detecting no noise, the second state consists of the microphone detecting the presence
of some noise, and the third state consists of the microphone detecting a louder noise
than usual.
The Implementation of Hardware and Software
For this project we used a smartphone and the myDAQ in order to make a detection
circuit that could detect no noise, low noise, and high noise. We first connected the
myDAQ to the computer and then plugged the myDaq with the smartphone, since the
phone was the sound source. We then created a new Blank VI project in LabView, we
started by producing a while loop followed by choosing acquire signals, analog input
voltage, and finally selecting audioInputLeft and audioInputRight. From there we
chose analog
The Four Stages Of The Business Cycle
The four stages of the business cycle are complex phases that our economy
undergoes. To grasp the concept of the stages, you must first be familiarized with the
business cycle itself. The business cycle is the alternating periods of growth and
decline. Or to be more intricate, The business cycle is the periodic but irregular up
and down movement in economic activity, measured by fluctuations in real gross
domestic product (GDP) and other macroeconomic variables, (Inc.com). A business
cycleis comprised of four stages: recovery, peak, recession, and trough.
In the recovery, the economy is growing. It is commonly indicated by a bull
market. The recovery is the increase in the rate of economic activity established by
a moderate to low unemployment percentage, towering development, and swelling
prices. The next phase of the business cycle is the peak. The peak is the most
desired stage for it is the superior point of the cycle. During this stage, the increased
consumer confidence translates into higher levels of business activity. The peak is,
When the economy is overheated, and is in a state of irrational exuberance,
(Inc.com) In other words, the peak is the point at which the economy is as robust as
it can get. Following the peak in the business cycle is the recession. The recession is
when the economy is on the decline and jobs are being lost, unemployment rates
soars, and production is slowing. It identifies the end of a growth interval in the
business cycle. Often,

Michael s Story: I get into so much trouble just by walking : Narrative Knowing and
Life at the Intersections of Learning Disability, Race, and Class
Introduction
The purpose of the article s introduction is to highlight the challenges that students
from minority go through in special education schools. Linking his personal
experiences as a former special educator, Connor strives to explore the intersection of
learning disability, race, and class. The author collected data by conducting
interviews with a participant researcher to get his side of the story. Connor planned
to compare his LDs experiences with his own.
Valuing Narrative
Connor opted to use a narrative as a means of expression since most people
understand issues better when they are conveyed as a narrated story. Michael, the
participant researcher, narrates the discrimination he went through during his time in
school. Being a student with a learning disability, he was segregated from the other
normal students, and they always taunted him because of his condition. The fact that
he is black, physically challenged and comes from a working class background
makes him feel less entitled to receiving a decent college education (Connor, 2006).
His situation that even in the education sector, the playing field is not fair as far as
minority groups are concerned.
Choosing poetry
Connor elects to present his findings in the form
Tyranol Johnson
Johnson Johnson and the Worldwide Recall of Tylenol A worldwide company that
has grown significantly over time, Johnson Johnson is a well known manufacturer of
pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, and Tylenol tablets, along with other products.
J J is all about innovation and they simply believe in bringing ideas, products and
services to advance the health and well being of people around the world (About
Johnson Johnson). The well established and successful company that has been
operating for over a staggering 130 years, has over 125,000 employees in 60
countries that are very much unified and goal oriented. Every business has a
mission that encircles profit making, but J J is one of the very few that focuses
more on corporate duties rather than financial gains. Moreover, the essence of this
case is that there was a worldwide recall of Tylenol34 of years ago. There was this
individual from Chicago, Illinois, who put tablets that contain arsenic in unsold
bottles of Tylenol on store shelves (Hosmer, 2011). No one knew the reason why that
person did that; those contaminated tablets killed six people. After these... Show more

There should be greater freedom of choices, as this not only fosters social
productivity, but it ensures market exchange among businesses and consumers. In
this Johnson and Johnson case, the Chief Executive Officer made sure that the
customers exercised their freedom of choice in returning the Tylenol products while
getting their refund for unopened tablets.
The company acknowledged the two way idea that everyone should act to ensure
greater freedom for society. The idea in this case is where the company acted
promptly and called back all Tylenol products, both nationally and internationally.
The other part to this two way idea is where the company went as far to take on over
a $100 million loss and refunded their customers.

What it is
It is among the earliest and oldest sports played in America. It specifically
originated in Central America with the Mexicans in the Southern part of Mexico.
Different towns thrived in this game which was to them more than a sport. It was
both a sport, a religious activity and it was also political. It was also social because it
brought the people in towns together.
The sport part of Mesoamerican ballgame involved getting a ball made of rubber
into one among many rings. The ball was solid and would weigh up to three
kilograms. While playing to put the ball through a ring, players were not to use their
hands but were to use their thighs, shoulders, elbows and even knees to pass this ball.
The game was only played by men. It was significantly played by warriors who were
to prove their strength or get rewarded. While in other towns and Kingdoms, captives
of wars were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They could be as many as twenty in a town. It is said that Mesoamerica had up to
thirteen hundred ball courts. They were built inside with walls that were either bent
towards the centre or vertical. There was an enclosing in the courts where the player
only played. This is because as was in the ancient days, the sport was observed as a
matter of life and death for the winner and losers. The ball courts were built
mythically orienting themselves to the North and South of the compass.
The ball courts were built such that, they had markers on them, more so on the
lengths of the courts, mostly three. This markers were also symbolic in that, they
represented the movements of the moon and the sun in relation to the ground.
When ball gaming became widespread, it became part of North America too where
they built courts or the same. The sport thrived in many countries and cities and
became with time an architectural and social activity than a culture.
The cultural and Mythological importance of Mesoamerican
College Experience In College
After high school ends, most young people take the track to college. The college
experience can be both exciting yet scary. There are so many new adjustments to
make and there s a whole lot more responsibility on your shoulders as an adult.
However, there s no need to stress out about the process. As you begin your collegiate
career, it s best to remember a few key tips to be successful. Implement these tips as
soon as you possibly can and they will serve you well in your collegeyears.
1. Maintain an income stream.
Many people will discourage you from working during your first semester in college.
The intentions are well meaning. They don t want you to struggle with juggling work
and school at the same time. However, college is your first opportunity into the real
world. In the real world, adults have to take care of themselves. If you have a car,
you re going to need to purchase gas. If you ever want to fly home for the holiday
breaks, you re going to need to purchase a plane ticket. You ll also need toiletries
and necessities for daily living. In this case, it s wise to maintain a simple part time
job or side hustle. Whether the side hustle involves babysitting once or twice a
week, freelance writing gigs or working in the cafeteria at school, make sure you
have a way to earn a bit of money on a consistent basis.
2. Develop a morning ritual.
The morning is the the time when you have the most control. As the day goes on,
things happen and your schedule gets crowded.

Essay On My Friend.pdf

  • 1. Essay On My Friend Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay On My Friend" might seem deceptively simple at first glance. After all, who knows one's friend better than oneself? However, the challenge lies in presenting a comprehensive and engaging portrayal of one's friend while balancing personal insights with objective observations. Firstly, there's the inherent subjectivity involved. One's perception of a friend is deeply influenced by personal experiences, biases, and emotions. Trying to encapsulate the essence of a friendship in a structured essay format requires careful introspection and reflection. It's not just about listing positive attributes or memorable moments but delving deeper into the complexities of the relationship. Then comes the dilemma of what to include and what to leave out. Every friendship has its highs and lows, quirks, and idiosyncrasies. Deciding which aspects to highlight and how to strike a balance between portraying one's friend authentically without compromising their privacy or trust is a delicate task. Moreover, there's the challenge of maintaining reader interest. While the essay is about a personal connection, it should resonate with a broader audience. This necessitates crafting a narrative that is not only relatable but also compelling, perhaps by weaving in anecdotes or insights that offer universal truths about friendship. Furthermore, the pressure to do justice to the friendship adds another layer of difficulty. The essay is not just about writing; it's about honoring a meaningful relationship. The fear of misrepresentation or inadequacy can be daunting, leading to writer's block or self-doubt. In essence, while the topic may seem straightforward, writing an essay on "Essay On My Friend" entails navigating through a maze of subjectivity, selectivity, relatability, and emotional investment. It's a task that demands both introspection and storytelling prowess to capture the essence of a cherished bond in words. • 2. Gender Stereotypes Of The Sexes Stereotypes of the Sexes Feminist: the person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes. Sexual stereotypes are deeply imbedded into today s society. Ideals of the gender roles are passed down from generation to generation, creating a gap between what is socially acceptable for a woman to do and what is expected of a man. One thousand years ago humans chose dominance by physical capability, simply because it was essential for our survival, but the world has evolved. One thousand years ago physical strength was the most important part of survival for humanbeings. Men in general are physically stronger therefore it made sense to have a man lead. Sexual stereotypes in America limit men and women to abide with,by the expectations of masculinity and feminism, create a sense of shame for women, and create a gap in today s job industry. The various military institutions tasked with providing education to the officer corps spend vast amounts of time teaching and reinforcing the Army Problem Solving Process. With that being said, Army officers at all ranks would be better served if they were able to incorporate the eight elements of thought as defined by Drs. When Army leaders identified the headgear as a problem, they failed to articulate their reasoning and ultimate objectives behind the transition, thereby, creating confusion amongst the troops. The failures to take into account other points of view, especially from units to which the beret was an exclusive item, made the public relations campaign a nightmare. Army leaders improperly assumed the beret switch would be minimally disruptive and generally accepted. To the contrary, displeased Soldiers from units like the Army Rangers marched from Fort Benning, Georgia to the U.S. Capital to voice their displeasure over the issue. From a practical standpoint, many Soldiers found the beret switch ill conceived. In order to don the beret, it generally required the Soldier to have their hands free so that they could properly place and shape the beret onto their head. It also provided no protection from the elements like the patrol cap offered and cost millions of extra dollars to field. The implications of this decision would have been obvious had they been considered during the Problem Solving Process. In response to a scathing survey commissioned years later by Sergeant Major of the Army, Raymond Chandler, the Army reversed course and reverted back to the patrol cap. Boxing techniques are somewhat similar to judo, especially the pivoting of the body and defenses. I usually hear and see my uncle shadowbox while practicing his footwork and punches and sometimes he d teach me a bit here and there. While he was teaching me how to position myself in a proper stance, how to move, and where to place my arms, I just thought to myself that this was a difficult sport to master. Various clusters of these gene codes perform different tasks and octopus genes are specially equipped to do very versatile things. Another gene type, protocadherin, allows the development of neurons and neural transmissions. Most mammals, including humans, only have 70 or so protocadherins. The octopus has 168. And the octopus has one of the largest gene families devoted to development of any animal we ve mapped so far second only to the elephant. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the DNA of an octopus is essentially like a road map where the road signs keep hopping around. The octopus has an extremely large number of jumping genes, called transposons, that can easily change their position in a protein chain. Researchers also found evidence in the octopus s RNA suggesting that they can easily alter their own protein sequences. In the researchers press release, Caroline Albertin, who co led the study,

Coffeeproducers usually have the option of obtaining short termfinancing (cash advances) either from local traders or from coffee cooperatives for those who are members. However, the availability of long term credit has virtually disappeared making it difficult for producers to defer the costs of implementing over several years (AMECAFE, 2009). Secondly, land tenure arrangements were not factored into the model since the communal land system in Mexico (ejidos) remains the dominant type of ownership especially in the rural areas of the south (Brown, 2004). Households in the sampled area continue to work the land under this traditional system and therefore the inclusion of a variable to capture tenure security could amount to model misspecification. • 24. The Hunger Relief Organization At The Puyallup Food Bank Introduction According to Feeding America, a U.S. Hunger Relief Organization, over 50 million people suffer from hunger in America. Although a complex issue, nonprofit organizations such as food banks make tremendous contributions each year toward combating hunger. Unfortunately, the majority of food donated to the Puyallup Food Bank located in Puyallup, Washington is heavily processed. A heavily processed diet can lead to nutritional deficiencies in fiber, calcium, iron and vitamins. These nutrients are vital to human survival. Additionally, during non holiday months, donations to the Puyallup Food Bank decrease considerably. To change this and help the food bank receive sufficient nutritional food donations year round, team 6 decided to repurpose Sarah Pike s research project. Using Ms. Pike s research, we realized the Puyallup Food Bank had issues in communicating its needs effectively with the community. To assist in correcting this, we felt the design of a simple, visually interesting call to action pamphlet would be an appropriate tool. To accomplish the creation of this pamphlet, we broke the collaboration up into four tasks: Write a project justification statement Develop the pamphlet content through delegated research assignments Design the pamphlet Test the pamphlet effectiveness by obtaining feedback finalizing the content Our overall goal in completing this project is to create an effective pamphlet that will educate the residents of Puyallup,

Essay On Inner Conflict In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet In Act IV of Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare uses characterization to show how inner conflict can affect mankind s attitude toward certain events in their lives and can change how react to those events. Juliet s character changes a great deal throughout the play. From being a loving daughter, to a lover, to someone who is willing to break the rules and even die for Romeo, she is ever changing. When she realizes she must marry Paris she immediately goes to the extreme about what she will have to do to avoid doing so; that extreme is committing suicide. She begs Friar Laurence to, Give me some present counsel, ( 4.1.61) of what to do in this situation and if he does not, this bloody knife shall play the umpire, (4.1.62 63) and kill herself. The Canon is an imposing figure, a mysterious and intimidating character who differs greatly from the Canterbury pilgrims, who are either jovial and boisterous or quiet and respectable. The Canon is nearly silent, yet his reticence does not stem from chivalric honor or religious principles. He is a man of menacing action afraid to be definitely identified as part of his dubious profession. This automatically marks him as different from the other travelers, who primarily exist as part of their particular job and accept it, even when that line of work В as in the cases of the summoner and the pardoner В is not respectable. The Canon s Yeoman serves as the voice of his master, but that voice proves inadequate. The Canon s Yeoman reveals too much about his master and then turns on him, condemning the Canon for his fraudulent practices. The Canon Yeoman s Tale: The Canon s Yeoman admits that he has served the Canon for seven years and knows a great deal about his craft. He warns that anybody who becomes involved with a canon will suffer similar miseries: losing one s wealth and esteem. He tells about the wicked craft of alchemy from which they try to gain wealth. He claims that there is a canon of religion of how an alchemist can defraud a person. He then begins his tale of a priest in London who was visited by a false canon who begged for a loan. Two days

As a public institution a museum must consider its role in society, the way culture is represented and displayed and most of all, how interpretation affects those not of museum training backgrounds, for example a visitor or patron. Some would argue that art, is an expression of a culture and its political and economic values (Hein 2006), while others would suggest that is the artifacts of long lost peoples and cultures that have the most worth to the public (Sabeti 2015). (Stam 1993). One way this may be interpreted is that a shift towards a more open, interactive style of museum exhibition should be the starting point of exhibition planning and execution. The discussions and in some cases successful installations of eco museums for example, represent the ever shifting and changing people and cultures, instead of the static and non changed ancient cultural heritage of forgotten civilizations and their material culture. The eco museum provides no exclusion of peoples or histories. With some limited success in exposing the cultures of ever changing people and customs to a larger audience in eco museums, other historical institutions have frankly missed the mark. The new museology started with the intention of introducing a new philosophy around how museums function and a changed relationships between museums and their societies and communities (McCall and Gray 2014). The framework suggested in the museology based on how a new function of museums can be achieved, really leaves one to ponder just how effective the application of literature surrounding these ideas can actually be when put into practice. There is no clear checklist of steps to achieve such a change in the framework and context of a museum as an educational institution, as a cultural reference or as an open public forum, so the missing re interpretation can sometimes be taken on by an

However, before people had access to modern scientific equipment, they told creations stories. A creation story is a myth that explains how and why the earth was made. A few cultures with differing opinions on creation are Europeans, Cherokee Indians, West Africans, and Hawaiians. Europeans tell the story of Genesis and God creating the earth in seven days and Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Cherokee Indians believe that the earth was created by a water beetle. In West African culture, they teach the Golden Chain story, and Hawaiians have the Kumulipo story to explain their beliefs on creation. Although each story follows a basic guideline, they all have distinct disparities. Throughout the plot of these four creation stories, it is visible that each culture has varying beliefs on how land was developed. For example, Cherokee Indians conclude that land was created by a water beetle who sculpted soft mud, where as Hawaiians believe that land emerged from the slime in the ocean. Both Europeans and West Africans teach that a supreme being used his or her powers to form land. In Genesis, God was responsible for the land, whereas in the Golden Chain story, a creature called Obatala was deemed accountable for creating the land. One similarity betweens these stories is that they all begin in an almost identical setting. In every myth except for

We showed that including backreacting D3 branes in warped compactifications did not produce divergences in the effective action and so represented a consistent theory from dimensional reduction. Due to the self duality of the five form field strength (i.e. F5 = ⋆F5), we were able to describe the D3 brane compensators in terms of either electric like charge sources via d ⋆ F5 = ⋆Je with dF5 = 0, or magnetic like charge sources via dF5 = ⋆Jm with d ⋆ F5 = 0. We further showed that other moduli of warped compactifications, such as the universal volume modulus and its associated axion considered in [5], could be recast in terms of electric or magnetic descriptions similar to the D3 branes. In ongoing work with A. Frey, I am continuing to develop the description of monopole like sources in extra dimensions. As an application, we consider a magnetic monopole in Minkowski spacetime.
