Description Of Personality Testing And Assessment
Introduction Personality testing and assessment refers to investigate into the features of a person s
aspects of character and psychosomatic make up. This is majorly done in organizations for
numerous reasons. As recorded in Frank (2004), the initial making of personality assessment was to
aid in easing the process of selecting workers for the army. Since this initial invention, much
development has been experienced in personalityassessment. This is apparent through the
existence of timely mechanisms that have been simply invented to help in individuality
assessment. The major tests that are in use up to this century are the five factor models, the
MMPI and the MBTI by Meyers that uses Briggs indicators (Harwood, Beutler Groth Marnat,
2011). Above all, the important mechanisms that come with personality are meant to test the
intention of doing the assessment. Conclusively, the ideal factor of doing assessment is the
application of the basic details as the line of making decisions. This is why it has been crucial to
put together both trait and psychological aspects as the primary elements of appraisal. As time
goes by, one may want to ask a significant query of whether the activity of personality testing is
taking a new dimension. This is to do with the discernible shift in personality classification
variables in the entire activity of assessment. The variables have become highly dynamic providing
need for an analysis of this topic.

To What Extent Were The Social Policies Of The Idi Amin...
To what extent were the social policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to
Uganda s colonial past? This is the question that this essay endeavors to answer as it scrutinizes the
social policies issued by Idi Amin Dada s administration throughout his eight year long reign over
Uganda. This essay will analyze the events of Idi Amins rule from 1971 to 1979 as a response to
the decade prior to Uganda s independence in 1962 and the interim period between them from
1962 to 1971. It is made apparent that Idi Amin s response to the issues within his society were by
in large fueled by the lingering distaste he had for the effects that British involvement in Ugandan
affairs had left on the nation. The British introduced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These origins stemmed from the late 19th century to the early 20th century when the British first
began to colonize Uganda with the help of Asians but didn t intensify until the fifties when classism
and racism became a growing issue. These concerns would grow potentially destructive in the
sixties when Britain worked alongside Idi Amin to overthrow Milton Obote and then a reality in
the 70 s when these issues were addressed with severity. Links between Idi Amin s ruthless social
policies and Uganda s colonial past became apparently negative which posed the query, to what
extent were these social policies a detrimental response? The focus of this piece is to illustrate
the extent to which Idi Amin s social policies, issued in varying degree from 1971 to 1979, served
as an overwhelmingly detrimental and negative response to a time when Britain ceased greater
control and influence over Uganda. It is noteworthy because it provides an answer and origin to a
nation that endured a dictatorship with a lack of ethical and substantial social reform for nearly a
decade. Instead a subservient military overtook the Ugandan parliament in an attempt to force a self
interested agenda upon its diverse population. The question to investigate then becomes, to what
extent were the social policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to Uganda s
colonial past?

Theoretical Analysis Paper
Theoretical Analysis This section aims to give a platform in understanding the human
communication that occurs in the workplace. As we discuss, people with high apprehension would
likely to have a tendency to avoid communication with others. Therefore, when a person
communicates with another person, sometimes it may involve some uncomfortable feelings
between them. This situation might be related or could be examined by using communication
theories, in particularly, Cognitive DissonanceTheory and Expectancy Violations Theory.
Cognitive Dissonance Theory
According to cognitive dissonance theory (Festinger, 1957), individuals feel uncomfortable when
they gain information which does not match the existing pattern or inconsistent. West Turner (2010)
explained that the dissonance as inconsistent between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if they were not able to avoid and withdraw from the unfavorable communication
situations, then the dissonance would not be reduced and consequently, they become less satisfied
with their jobs (Gibbs, Rosenfeld, and Javidi, 1994).
There are three ways of reducing the dissonance between actions and attitudes: selective exposure,
post decision dissonance, and minimal justification (Griffin, 2012). First, Festinger believed that
people tend to avoid information that increases dissonance and find out the information that is
consistent with their attitudes and behavior. The selective exposure hypothesis could explain why
the high CA members still choose to avoid communication, even though it was necessary and
compulsory in the workplace. For example, high apprehensive workers were fear of negative
evaluation (Winiecki and Ayres, 1999) and this emphasized that they refuse to gain information
from others, as they would avoid the dissonance and become consistent with their aversive
behaviors. According to Festinger (1957), after people made a decision, they could produce a huge
amount of internal tensions. The theory mentions that the more important the

How Did Abraham Observed The Tenets Of Judaism
Judaism Judaism began about 4000 years ago with the Hebrew people in the Middle East.
Abraham, who was a Hebrew man, is considered the father of the Jewish faith because he
promoted the main idea of the Jewish faith: that there is only one God. At the time a lot of people
in the Middle East worshipped many gods. The Jewish tradition, Abraham founded which was later
named the Jewish religion in the land of Israel, around 1800 BCE. The Torahsays that Abraham
came to know that there was only one God, and he abandoned idol worship. The Talmud (Yoma
28b) relates that Abraham observed the tenets of Judaism. Judaism is strictly monotheistic meaning
that we have only one deity. The Creator has one true name which is represented by the letters
YHVH in English. Judaism was founded in 2500 BC in Mesopotamia. It was discovered by
Abraham. He promoted the central idea of the Jewish faith, that there is only One God. Judaism is
in Israel, Europe, and USA. However, in the past Judaism has spread both by active proselytism
and by migration from Judah. The Babylonian Exile was the first event that helped spread Judaism,
as many Jews chose not to come back to Jerusalem. By the time of the Roman Empire, there was
already a substantial Jewish presence in Babylon. Jewish Sacred Texts are The Tanach, Mishnah,
Talmud and Midrash. Judaism is the oldest of the Abrahamic religions, and its primary sacred text
is the Tanach, or the Jewish Bible, which is composed of the Pentateuch (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi
im) and the Writings (Ketuvim). Judaism as it is found in the United States today is divided into
four religious movements represented by synagogue membership. A small percentage of Jews
identify with extremist, rightwing, cult like movements (such as Hasidism) which had their origins
in eighteenth century Europe. A large percentage of Jews, identify themselves as Jewish though
they belong to no movement. Some of these Jews do join synagogues from time to time, but others
prefer to remain secular for ideological reasons. Mixed among both secular and synagogue based
Jews, there are others who center their Jewish identity on Zionism. The commonly known words of

In the year of 1747 the first african american was finally apart of the MLB, he was 28 year old
Jackie Robinson. After researching him, i believe he was the barrier breaker for dark skinned
people playing with or against darker skinned people. What he did wasn t the easiest, it took a lot

Fate In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Fate, for better or worse, interrupts everyone s daily life, whether he/she chooses to acknowledge
it or not. Thinking about fate conjures up different feelings for different people; some people
believe strongly in it, some people think of fate as ridiculous, and some do not care one way or the
other. However, in many instances, such as in William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Romeo and
Juliet, far too many coincidences occur to be strictly coincidental. Fate creates a powerful effect
throughout the entire play, starting in the prologue, continuing as Romeo and Juliet meetand fall in
love, and tragically endingin the lovers deaths.
In the prologue, Shakespeare makes it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fate causes Romeo to be at the right place at the right time. If he does not walk near the Capulet s
house or if the servant is able to read, Romeo does not attend the party, thus he does not meet
Juliet. After Romeo attends the party, fate strikes again as he stumbles into the Capulet s orchard
while trying to escape his friends. Juliet, after meeting Romeo mere hours before, emerges onto her
balcony and, unaware that Romeo can hear her, proclaims her love for Romeo:
Oh Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love
And I ll no longer be a Capulet. (II. ii. ll. 33 36)
After Romeo hears this, he realizes how Juliet truly feels about him, thus responding and
proclaiming his love as well. Normally, Romeo does not hear Juliet s proclamation for two
reasons: he does not stumble right into the Capulet s orchard, right under Juliet s balcony, and
Juliet does not proclaim her love aloud from the balcony. However, fate s plan causes Romeo to
be in the right place at the right time again and causes Juliet to unleash her emotions from her
balcony so that Romeo can hear her. Romeo and Juliet now love each other dearly, and fate
assumes all responsibility.
In addition to reigning over their love lives, fate also causes the downfall of Romeo and Juliet.
Near the end of the play, it appears Romeo and Juliet have a significant

Analysis Of The Experiment Management And The Worker
Since the publication of the experiment report management and the worker in 1939(Gillespie,
1991) the Hawthorne studies have been playing an important role in management, psychology and
sociology. Hawthorne studies were the foundation for the modern day management thinking.
Hawthorne studies have been subject to many criticisms but it produced the fundamental changes in
the development of management thoughts. The great contribution Hawthorne studies made to the
development of modern management these experiments are identified as the most important piece
of experimental industrial social science ever undertaken. For example, Buchanan and Huczynski
(2004) indicated that the Hawthorne research revolutionized social science thinking . In this essay
we are discussing management concepts used prior to Hawthorne studies, brief introduction of
Hawthorne experiment and its findings, how Hawthorne studies reshape the modern management
thinking in the sense of social science, criticisms on Hawthorne studies and conclusion. The
theories well before Organisational behaviour concerned on increasing productivity and efficiency
by introducing machinery and optimising time spent on tasks. Taylorisum continually appalled by
workers inefficiencies, and the workers tendency to take it easy on the job. The Taylorisum was
criticised by many arguing that the fundamentals of scientific management were to abuse workers
rather than to benefit them (Mullins, 2005). Prior to Hawthorne studies

Posted on January 16, 2015 by ugcbioethicsby Amy Bloom, Bioethics Program faculty I have
been reading the latest news regarding Cassandra C., the teen with Hodgkin s lymphoma who
refused treatment but was forced into receiving it by a Connecticut Supreme Court ruling. As a
mother and a bioethicist, these are the times when reconciling my personal opinions with my
professional experience can be most challenging. Many of my mom friends were shocked and
horrified by the image of a young woman being restrained to a bed, forced to undergo treatment.
They had visions of a screaming pained girl, a mother helpless to save her child, and big brother
dispensing poison to an innocent girl whirled through our collective mind. From an ethics
standpoint, it is generally wrong to force medical treatment on anyone, particularly when there are
cultural and religious factors to be taken into consideration. I am reminded of cases involving
Christian Scientists who believe that any traditional medical intervention is contrary to their
cultural and religious views. Oftentimes, in cases involving a seriously ill child, parental rights are
legally overruled and children are forced

Buck V. Bell Case Study
Module 3 Activity: Buck v. Bell Since the time of the court s decision, what changes have been
made in the lives of individuals who are intellectually disabled? There have been widespread
societal changes in the way in which individuals with intellectual disabilities are treated since the
court made its decision in the 1920s. These changes lead to those with disabilities being able to
participate in more areas of normal life. This movement to remove barriers for people with
disabilities is called normalization (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Prior to the 1970 s, those
with intellectual disabilities were placed in institutions, but after this time there was an effort to
keep people with intellectual disabilities in their own communities. This change has both positive
and negative implications. While this brought people with intellectual disabilities back to their
communities and helped them integrate into a more normal way of life, many are now in jails or
homeless. A second piece of normalization that is particular to education is inclusion. This is the
practice in which students with exceptionalities are included in a general education classroom with
their peers (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). This practice is also controversial, as there are a
myriad of opinions regarding which students... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

are only two out of many students, it just goes to show that all come from different cultures and

Racial Barriers
United States of America is a country that has a foundation of diverse social, economic and
political factors that have been constantly changing over the last few centuries and have shaped the
way in which races and various ethnic groups relate, align, and participate in political processes
(Holloway, 2013). The 19th and 20th centuries are seen as the most definitive years which the fate
of people of color and other ethnic minorities was determined. The magnitude of social issues and
legislations that were enacted during these years ranging from civil right movements, women
suffrage, to voting rights were of great significance and most of them are still binding in the current
American society (Tyson, 2016). These socio economic and political manifestations in the country
have also shaped the raceperceptions and some people believe it is the period in history that
defined race relations to date.
The most volatile issue over the years has been the right to vote irrespective of diversities such as
color, income, race, ethnic groups, immigration status, among other factors. People of color have
always been on the receiving end of laws that prevent them from voting and exercising their
constitutional right of freely electing leaders (Schuit Rogowski, 2016). Despite such laws being
abolished over the years through federal and state legislations that aim at bringing equality, the
turnout of people of color still remains low to date. This paper aims at examining the possible

The Actions That Led to Boston Tea Party: 1773
On December 16, 1773, American Patriots disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians boarded the
ships of the East Indian Company docked in the Boston Harbor, and poured all the tea that was on
the three ships into the ocean. They emptied three hundred forty two chests of tea which was
valued at more than 10,000 pounds. This event became known as the Boston Tea Party. It was a
reaction to the Tea Act of 1773. The Tea Party was the key event that started the Revolutionary
War. There were some key events that led up to the Boston Tea Party such as; the Stamp Act of

The Tea Act of 1773 was imposed by the British government, its main purpose was not to raise
the income from the colonies but to bail out the struggling East India Company, which was a key
factor in the British government. The British government granted the company a exclusive
possession on the incoming and sale of tea in the colonies. The colonists had never accepted the
authority of the duty on tea, and the Tea Act rekindled their opposition to it. This act was also
passed because there was plenty of tea left to rot in a warehouse, so with an attempt to save the
troubled enterprise the British Parliament passed the Tea Act. The act granted the company the
right to ship the tea directly to the colonies and to commission agents, which had the right to sell
tea in the different colonies. Later, the Tea Act effectively lowered the price of the East India
Company s tea in colonies, since they did not longer have to pay an additional tax in England.
The Boston Tea Party happened on the 16th of December in 1773. This was a pre revolutionary
incident that was a direct protest by colonists in Boston against the Tea Tax that was imposed by the
British government. Boston Patriots, dressed as Mohawk Indians, and raided three British ships,
the Dartmouth, Beaver and Eleanor. The consignees, which was under the pressure of the Patriots,
in Charleston, New York, and Philadelphia, they refused to accept the tea shipments,

Iron Thermal Conductivity And Thermal Expansion
Aluminium is a very reactive metal with high affinity for oxygen but the metal is highly resistant to
most environments and to a great variety of chemical agents. This resistance is due to the inert and
protective character of the aluminium oxide film which forms on the metal surface. Welding of
aluminium still represents a critical operation due to its complexity and the high level of defect that
can be produced in the joint. The main problems are related to the properties of aluminium. They
are:
High thermal conductivity and thermal expansion.
High chemical reactivity with oxygen.
High hydrogen solubility at high temperature.
All this factors can cause presence of defects on the weld bead; like high thermal conductivity and
high thermal expansion can cause distortions in the weld, high chemical reactivity with oxygen
may include inclusions and porosity in the weld, high hydrogen solubility at high temperature may
cause hydrogen embrittlement or hydrogen induced cracking. The Friction Stir Welding(FSW)
represents a possible solution. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a new solid state joining technique
which was invented by The Welding Institute (TWI) in 1991.This technique is now increasingly
used to join high strength aluminium alloys such as 2xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx and 8xxx series. It is used in
various fields such as aerospace, automotive and marine industries. This technique is attractive for
joining high strength aluminium alloys since there is far lower heat input

the mother offers to pay him to drive her into the woods and look for her daughter. He replied, I

The invisible paddock talked about in the first sentence is foreshadowing of the introduction of
the two planes of life. Moulaf is also using symbolism. The invisible paddock symbolises the sky,
and as later introduced the view from the sky is the second plane of life.
Moulaf has used the lines; One named Peter, One named Paul to link the characters of the book
to the religious views and ways of living in the 1960 s. In the 1750 s the rhyme Two Little Dickie
Birds talked of two birds names Jack and Gill, in the early 1900 s the names were changed to the
disciples Peter and Paul . In Fly away Peter Moulaf has used this link between the birds name to
introduce the religious connections. The bird peter symbioses Jim and Paul symbolises Ashley in
the context of Fly away Peter .
Throughout the novel Moulaf uses the literary technique of narration to tell parts of the story. The
world Jim found himself in... this narrator figure symbolises God. Jim and Ashley also symbolise
angels. This references the first quote Moulaf placed in the front of the novel. The divine creature
is an angel. Jim and Ashley are angels incarnated in a human form, and the flying away is the time
on earth and the coming back is the return to heaven. In the novel Jim dies from injuries sustained

Direct Analysis Of Construction Delays
The parameters of measurement of success of any project time, cost, safety, quality and customer
satisfaction can be severely affected by construction delays (Shujaa Safdar Gardezi, 2013). This
study investigates various factors affecting the timeline of the schedule by various participants in
the project, followed by mathematical analysis to propose that the major reasons for delaysare the
domestic issues of the country.
2.1 Current techniques for the analysis of delays Following are three different modes of application
of delay analysis techniques based on their simulations with fundamental schedules:
1.Direct Analysis
Direct analysis involves examining the available schedule information without doing any
simulations and modifications. Therefore, it is relatively simple, easy, less time consuming and a
lot less expensive to perform.
2.Additive Analysis
In this methodology, the delays are added to the schedule as individual activities to simulate the
actual scenario of occurrence and reflect the effects of the delays on the as planned schedule.
The additions of the delays can be performed individually knowns as single stage analysis as well
as in multiple schedules also known as multi stage analysis (Trauner, 1990). Some of the examples
of additive analysis are time impact analysis, impacted as planned, window analysis and as planned
but for.
3.Subtractive Analysis

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Polymerization Of PMMA
Union
PMMA is routinely delivered by emulsion polymerization, arrangement polymerization, and mass

yet anionic polymerization of PMMA can likewise be performed. To deliver 1 kg (2.2 lb) of

(all business PMMA) is a tactic and totally nebulous.

Scratches might be evacuated by heating so as to clean or the surface of the material.Laser slicing

The Effect Of Bid Price Dispersion On Contracting ( Versus...
3.3 Effect of Bid Price Dispersion on Contracting (versus Contract Indecision)
Due to the complex nature of IT services and the buyer s lack of full knowledge of IT services,
buyers in online labor markets face value uncertainty over how much to pay for an IT service in
general (termed common value uncertainty) and how much to pay for the IT service from a
particular freelancer (termed private value uncertainty). Because of the difficulty in assessing a
freelancer s true characteristics (e.g., skills, expertise, capacity, etc.), the buyer cannot precisely
estimate the price of a particular freelancer for an IT service given his attributes (private value).
However, it is feasible to infer the common value of an IT service based on the ... Show more

Although the average of all freelancers bid prices, namely the estimate of the common value, is
$80 in both scenarios, the dispersion in scenario (a) is larger than that in scenario (b). In
scenario (b), all three freelancers bid a price very close to $80, which delivers a consistent
message to the buyer that the common value of the IT service is $80. Hence, the buyer is less
uncertain to infer the common value as $80. In scenario (a), however, the three freelancers have
very different bid prices, which makes a buyer more uncertain about the common value of the IT
service ($80). In sum, a buyer will have higher (lower) common value uncertainty when bid price
dispersion is high (low).
We argue that the common value could serve as a practical benchmark to evaluate each
freelancer s bid price and infer how much more or less a buyer should pay a particular freelancer
(to overcome private value uncertainty). Using our running example, in Scenario (a), the three
bids prices ($40, $80, $120) are highly dispersed around the average of $80, and it will be very
difficult for a buyer to evaluate any of these bids in terms of how much more or less she would
need to pay a particular freelancer. Specifically, the lowest priced freelancer may deliver a low
quality service, while the highest priced freelancer would reap the buyer s potential surplus. In
contrast, in Scenario (b) of the running

Dbq Appeasement Research Paper
Appeasement was not the right policy for Britain in 1938 because without this policy, Britain and
France could have stopped Hitler and World War 2 from occuring.
The appeasement policy was not ideal for Europe. It proved to allow Hitler opportunities to gain
control over most of Europe. Winston Churchill, a politician and army leader, stated that, I have
always held the view that the maintenance of peace depends upon the accumulation of deterrents
against the aggressor, coupled with a sincere effort to redress grievances. (Document B). Churchill
believed that if France or Britain put in an effort to strategize and stop Germany, they would have
prevented Germany from invading Czechoslovakia. Churchill also further states that, ... I ventured
to ... pledge that in conjunction with France and other powers they would guarantee the security of
Czechoslovakia ... and I still believe that if that course had been followed events would not have
fallen to this disastrous state... (Document B). This shows how Europe had many chance to stop
Hitler by working together. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They let Germany do as it pleased to a certain extent in hopes that Germany would stop after they
were satisfied. Although though the effects on Europe from World War 1 were devastating,
France and Britain had rearmed enough to have beaten Germany if they were at war again. This is
revealed when George F. Kennan, a historian and American diplomat claims that, We know today
that is was unnecessary ... because the Czech defenses were very strong... and because the German

Europe had the potential to stop Germany and Hitler and also preventing World War 2. But
because of the appeasement policy, Britain and France didn t do anything and let Germany invade

Politics Of The Polarized Classroom Essay
Politics of the Polarized Classroom A Popular Trope By now, one must have already heard or
read about the story of a young man standing up to his professor in philosophy class, the latter
being a self professed atheist. Simply put, the professor claimed that it was stupid to believe in
God because there was no empirical proof of God. The young man, however, wittily retorts that
since the class really had no empirical proof of the professor s brain, then they really had no
business believing him. The same trope is basically used in a more elaborated rendition in the
recent Christian film God s Not Dead (2014). There, an atheist professor challenges a Christian
student for his irrational beliefs, but suddenly comes to terms with the irrationality of his own
belief system by the end of the movie (Noble). An average movie at best, it can be said that
richer meaning might be found in the circumstances of its creation. Movies, after all, mimic
aspects of reality regardless of genre, so that the political realities described therein are hardly
fictional in nature. Simply put, to create a film is to participate politically (Christensen and Haas
6). Here, it is profitable to point out the three things both texts have in common: (1) both feature an
atheistic professor; (2) both feature a Christian student who avidly believes God; and (3) both occur
in the classroom. These factors are important to note, and the third point needs stressing, as it is
central to the plot of both texts.

The Between Westminster And Brussels
Nowadays, legislation of both Westminster and Brussels has become the main source of the law
for the UK. Moreover, United Kingdom has its own law, which is called English legal system
equally Brussels has a major role within the UK as it part of the predominant source for the UK.
Therefore, this paper will firstly examine and give brief description of the legislative power. Then,
it will define the legislative powers of both Westminster and Brussels and their roles. Consequently,
it will explain the important roles and show how these roles are played by the English courts and
the European courts of justice (ECJ). Also, it will show how Brussels enforce compliance with
treaty provisions and explain how European Unioncitizens approach the European courts of justice.
Since United Kingdom joined to the European Union it has gradually and effectively passed its
power of making law that have an impact to the European institutions. Also, United Kingdom s
legislative, executive and judicial powers are controlled by the framework of the European
Community (Slapper and Kelly, 2010 p.65). The legislation is considered as the primary sources
of English law and made by the Parliament. Also, Parliament it is a supreme law making body
and can make law or reject and amend legislation. However, by the United Kingdom s
membership of the EU per EC Act 1972 the Parliament s power of creating law has been limited

Eukaryotic Cells
Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic
There are two basic types of cells, prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells. The main difference
between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells is that eukaryotic cells have a nucleus. The nucleus is
where cells store their DNA, which is the genetic material. The nucleus is surrounded by a
membrane. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. Instead, their DNA floats around inside the cell.
Organisms with prokaryotic cells are called prokaryotes. All prokaryotes are single celled
(unicellular) organisms. Bacteria and Archaea are the only prokaryotes. Organisms with eukaryotic
cells are called eukaryotes. Animals, plants, fungi, and protists are eukaryotes. All multicellular
organisms are eukaryotes. Eukaryotes may also be single celled.

Some eukaryotic species have just a few chromosomes, others have close to 100 or more. These
chromosomes are protected within the nucleus. In addition to a nucleus, eukaryotic cells include
other membrane bound structures called organelles. Organelles allow eukaryotic cells to be more
specialized than prokaryotic cells. Pictured below are the organelles of eukaryotic cells (Figure
below), including the mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus. These will be
discussed in additional concepts.
Organelles of a eukaryotic cell
Eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus and various other special compartments surrounded by
membranes, called organelles. The nucleus is where the DNA (chromatin) is stored. Organelles
give eukaryotic cells more functions than prokaryotic cells.
Prokaryotic Cells
Prokaryotic cells (Figure below) are usually smaller and simpler than eukaryotic cells. They do
not have a nucleus or other membrane bound organelles. In prokaryotic cells, the DNA, or genetic
material, forms a single large circle that coils up on itself. The DNA is located in the main part of the

National Literacy Crusade Coordinator, And Valerie Miller...
Fernando Cardenal, serving as the National Literacy Crusade Coordinator, and Valerie Miller, a
CNA advisor, outlined that the literacy campaign would not just eradicate illiteracy, but create an
identity of a new man [and a] new woman for Nicaraguans. Through the CNA, the Sandinistas
hoped to introduce young Nicaraguans to the difficulties and hardship endured by Nicaraguas poor
rural population. For many of the brigadistas who volunteered, the 1980 literacy campaign served
as their first experience with the other side of Nicaragua s population, a side that remained unseen
and not thought of by many under the Somoza regime. The life that brigadistas lived in during the
CNA significantly altered their perspectives on society, both politically and culturally. The
Sandinistas did in fact succeed at redefining the concept of the Nicaraguan experience for its youth.
The Nicaraguan volunteers in the National Literacy Crusade developed a sense of new
nationalism for Nicaragua defined by their experiences with the illiterate Nicaraguan population.
The accounts of this change is most evident from the experiences of brigadistas working in the
Nicaragua s poor rural regions. Brigadistas, the majority of whom came from urban middle class
backgrounds, gained an appreciation for the rural farmers and laborers. The testaments and personal
accounts of brigadistas provide insight on the impact of their time with the long disenfranchised
citizens of Nicaragua. Several factors

One of the most frequently asked questions posed to a revival of a musical is in regards to its
current social relevance. Whether that is a fair question is a debate for another day. After

Dr. Armstrong, Vera Claythorne, Philip Lombard, William Blore, Emily Brent, General Macarthur,
Tony Marston, and Judge Wargrave. All think they are meeting someone different for different
reasons. When they arrive on the island though, they are greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, who are

While the guests discuss what they do for a living, the first victim of this ongoing crime is taken.

physicians to listen to the lungs of patients with asthma. Laennec was convinced that the muscles

allowed physicians to measure the strength of a patient s lungs, as well as how much air could be

Silence Of The Lambs Essay
Ways That Help a Film Portray a Suspenseful Mood
I believe that Silence of the Lambs was the most suspenseful movie we have watched. There were
many things in the movie that messed with one s mind and made them see or believe things that
weren t there. Camera angles, lighting, and the tone of a character s voice can help add suspense
to a film. Also, the amount of irony that was in the film made the viewer be on their toes the whole
time. The Silence of the Lambs could possibly make one have nightmares or be afraid of certain
things because of the way the film was portrayed.
The setting of a film can play a huge part of adding suspense or creating a mood for the film right
off the bat. When The Silence of the Lambs first started Clarice Starling was running through the
woods in the early morning and it was foggy outside. Also, she was alone and suddenly an
officer came out of the woods. That alone can add suspense because we had no idea was she was
running from or for and then someone shows up. This film was mainly shot in Virginia, but since

they were at the right house. The viewer knew this from watching because of the camera being

The Dangers Of Credit Cards
Dangers of Credit
When you get a credit card you would feel as if spending
money is painless and easy. Using cash will cause you to
think because it would disappear for every, making it more
of a harder thing to do. Making credit cards easier to spend
money on causing people to go into debit.
How do people go into
debt ?
Credit card organizations don t just give people money
because they want to be nice. Those companies count
on people being forgetful or not responsible causing
them to be late or not being able to pay off their debit.
if you are late or it s just the matter that you don t have
enough money to pay it off that month, then you will
have to pay a fee. On top of that free their will be
interest. So then you will have to end up paying more
from what you actually owe. They do not care if you go
under a spiral of debit, it s just a game to them , and the
companies are the ones getting rich.
How can I prevent debt?
Since companies want people to fall
under debit. Try to not be that
person. Be that person who pays
their money they owe every month.
Don t buy food or things under 10
dollars with it. Create a budget ,
which shows you where and how much many you can spend.
Finally , when you are buying something with your credit
card ask yourself can I come up with that money soon,
What is Credit?
Basically credit is the amount of money someone such
as a lender will risk to help you get money. You aren t

Sir Isaac Newton Essay examples
Born on Christmas Day, 1642, Isaac Newton spent his early childhood in a small farm house in
the hamlet of Woolsthope, sixty miles northwest of Cambridge and one hundred miles from
London. Newton s biological father died before he was born and his mother remarried two years
later to the Reverend Barnabas Smith. Newton attended the King s School at Grantham at the age
of twelve but was brought home by his mother at nearly the age of sixteen to manage the estate.
Luckily for science, Newton showed little interest in farming. Newton s childhood acquaintances
remember him building a model windmill, ingenious water mill and many sun dials (North 5 8).
Newton, as an unsuccessful farmer, entered Trinity College at the age of eighteen. He went... Show

This discovery enabled him to find the area under almost any algebraic curve in mathematics and
became known as the fundamental theorem of calculus (Westfall 42). Newton s book,
Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica, often called Principia for short, was completed by
April 1686 and is one of the greatest pieces of scientific literature ever written. Much credit is
deserved to Edmond Halley as his initial visit to Cambridge in the fall of 1684 reminded Newton
of the work that needed to be completed regarding celestial mechanics. This visit prompted the
writing of De motu and quickly lead to the writing of Principia (Cropper 30). Although a
groundbreaking piece of literature, the Principia is one of the most incomprehensible books ever
written. In about 500 pages and 340 complicated diagrams, Newton proves his arguments with the
use of formally presented propositions with demonstrations. To understand the arguments explained
in the book, the reader must comprehend each proposition in sequence (Cropper 31). Another
problem that renders the Principia very difficult for the modern reader is that Newton chose to
write the book in ancient geometrical style. This style was preferred by Newton not only because it
represented the language of the ancients, but also because the fluxion language (calculus) he
developed had not yet been published. In some aspects, the Principia, along with

Lady Capulet Language Analysis
The nurse s most prominent qualities are that she is more casual in her manner of speaking and
makes very inappropriate comments throughout the scene. The nurse s informal manner is seen
quite a few times during 1:3 (Act 1, Scene 3). Towards the beginning of the scene, she repeatedly
addresses Juliet as Jules . This nickname tells the reader that the nurse and Juliet get along well
and seem to be more like friends. Another significant moment when her way of speaking stands out
is when the reader compares Lady Capulet s form of speaking to the nurse s way. Essentially, the
nurse speaks quite freely with the Capulets due to her friendly relationship with them. This freedom
of speech often leads to quite crude and odd comments from her (the nurse)

As recorded in Frank (2004), the initial making of personality assessment was to aid in easing the process of selecting workers for the army. Since this initial invention, much development has been experienced in personalityassessment. This is apparent through the existence of timely mechanisms that have been simply invented to help in individuality assessment. The major tests that are in use up to this century are the five factor models, the MMPI and the MBTI by Meyers that uses Briggs indicators (Harwood, Beutler Groth Marnat, 2011). Above all, the important mechanisms that come with personality are meant to test the intention of doing the assessment. Conclusively, the ideal factor of doing assessment is the application of the basic details as the line of making decisions. This is why it has been crucial to put together both trait and psychological aspects as the primary elements of appraisal. As time goes by, one may want to ask a significant query of whether the activity of personality testing is taking a new dimension. This is to do with the discernible shift in personality classification variables in the entire activity of assessment. The variables have become highly dynamic providing need for an analysis of this topic. Historical use of the term objective ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. To What Extent Were The Social Policies Of The Idi Amin... To what extent were the social policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to Uganda s colonial past? This is the question that this essay endeavors to answer as it scrutinizes the social policies issued by Idi Amin Dada s administration throughout his eight year long reign over Uganda. This essay will analyze the events of Idi Amins rule from 1971 to 1979 as a response to the decade prior to Uganda s independence in 1962 and the interim period between them from 1962 to 1971. It is made apparent that Idi Amin s response to the issues within his society were by in large fueled by the lingering distaste he had for the effects that British involvement in Ugandan affairs had left on the nation. These origins stemmed from the late 19th century to the early 20th century when the British first began to colonize Uganda with the help of Asians but didn t intensify until the fifties when classism and racism became a growing issue. These concerns would grow potentially destructive in the sixties when Britain worked alongside Idi Amin to overthrow Milton Obote and then a reality in the 70 s when these issues were addressed with severity. Links between Idi Amin s ruthless social policies and Uganda s colonial past became apparently negative which posed the query, to what extent were these social policies a detrimental response? The focus of this piece is to illustrate the extent to which Idi Amin s social policies, issued in varying degree from 1971 to 1979, served as an overwhelmingly detrimental and negative response to a time when Britain ceased greater control and influence over Uganda. It is noteworthy because it provides an answer and origin to a nation that endured a dictatorship with a lack of ethical and substantial social reform for nearly a decade. Instead a subservient military overtook the Ugandan parliament in an attempt to force a self interested agenda upon its diverse population. The question to investigate then becomes, to what extent were the social policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to Uganda s colonial past? • 4. Theoretical Analysis Paper Theoretical Analysis This section aims to give a platform in understanding the human communication that occurs in the workplace. As we discuss, people with high apprehension would likely to have a tendency to avoid communication with others. Therefore, when a person communicates with another person, sometimes it may involve some uncomfortable feelings between them. This situation might be related or could be examined by using communication theories, in particularly, Cognitive DissonanceTheory and Expectancy Violations Theory. Cognitive Dissonance Theory According to cognitive dissonance theory (Festinger, 1957), individuals feel uncomfortable when they gain information which does not match the existing pattern or inconsistent. West Turner (2010) explained that the dissonance as inconsistent between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, if they were not able to avoid and withdraw from the unfavorable communication situations, then the dissonance would not be reduced and consequently, they become less satisfied with their jobs (Gibbs, Rosenfeld, and Javidi, 1994). There are three ways of reducing the dissonance between actions and attitudes: selective exposure, post decision dissonance, and minimal justification (Griffin, 2012). First, Festinger believed that people tend to avoid information that increases dissonance and find out the information that is consistent with their attitudes and behavior. The selective exposure hypothesis could explain why the high CA members still choose to avoid communication, even though it was necessary and compulsory in the workplace. For example, high apprehensive workers were fear of negative evaluation (Winiecki and Ayres, 1999) and this emphasized that they refuse to gain information from others, as they would avoid the dissonance and become consistent with their aversive behaviors. According to Festinger (1957), after people made a decision, they could produce a huge amount of internal tensions. The theory mentions that the more important the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Did Abraham Observed The Tenets Of Judaism Judaism Judaism began about 4000 years ago with the Hebrew people in the Middle East. Abraham, who was a Hebrew man, is considered the father of the Jewish faith because he promoted the main idea of the Jewish faith: that there is only one God. At the time a lot of people in the Middle East worshipped many gods. The Jewish tradition, Abraham founded which was later named the Jewish religion in the land of Israel, around 1800 BCE. The Torahsays that Abraham came to know that there was only one God, and he abandoned idol worship. The Talmud (Yoma 28b) relates that Abraham observed the tenets of Judaism. Judaism is strictly monotheistic meaning that we have only one deity. The Creator has one true name which is represented by the letters YHVH in English. Judaism was founded in 2500 BC in Mesopotamia. It was discovered by Abraham. He promoted the central idea of the Jewish faith, that there is only One God. Judaism is in Israel, Europe, and USA. However, in the past Judaism has spread both by active proselytism and by migration from Judah. The Babylonian Exile was the first event that helped spread Judaism, as many Jews chose not to come back to Jerusalem. By the time of the Roman Empire, there was already a substantial Jewish presence in Babylon. Jewish Sacred Texts are The Tanach, Mishnah, Talmud and Midrash. Judaism is the oldest of the Abrahamic religions, and its primary sacred text is the Tanach, or the Jewish Bible, which is composed of the Pentateuch (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi im) and the Writings (Ketuvim). Judaism as it is found in the United States today is divided into four religious movements represented by synagogue membership. A small percentage of Jews identify with extremist, rightwing, cult like movements (such as Hasidism) which had their origins in eighteenth century Europe. A large percentage of Jews, identify themselves as Jewish though they belong to no movement. Some of these Jews do join synagogues from time to time, but others prefer to remain secular for ideological reasons. Mixed among both secular and synagogue based Jews, there are others who center their Jewish identity on Zionism. If he does not walk near the Capulet s house or if the servant is able to read, Romeo does not attend the party, thus he does not meet Juliet. Juliet, after meeting Romeo mere hours before, emerges onto her balcony and, unaware that Romeo can hear her, proclaims her love for Romeo: Oh Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love And I ll no longer be a Capulet. (II. ii. ll. 33 36) After Romeo hears this, he realizes how Juliet truly feels about him, thus responding and proclaiming his love as well. Normally, Romeo does not hear Juliet s proclamation for two reasons: he does not stumble right into the Capulet s orchard, right under Juliet s balcony, and Juliet does not proclaim her love aloud from the balcony. However, fate s plan causes Romeo to be in the right place at the right time again and causes Juliet to unleash her emotions from her balcony so that Romeo can hear her. They had visions of a screaming pained girl, a mother helpless to save her child, and big brother dispensing poison to an innocent girl whirled through our collective mind. From an ethics standpoint, it is generally wrong to force medical treatment on anyone, particularly when there are cultural and religious factors to be taken into consideration. There have been widespread societal changes in the way in which individuals with intellectual disabilities are treated since the court made its decision in the 1920s. These changes lead to those with disabilities being able to participate in more areas of normal life. This movement to remove barriers for people with disabilities is called normalization (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Prior to the 1970 s, those with intellectual disabilities were placed in institutions, but after this time there was an effort to keep people with intellectual disabilities in their own communities. This change has both positive and negative implications. While this brought people with intellectual disabilities back to their communities and helped them integrate into a more normal way of life, many are now in jails or homeless. A second piece of normalization that is particular to education is inclusion. This is the practice in which students with exceptionalities are included in a general education classroom with their peers (Hallahan, Kauffman, Pullen, 2015). Racial Barriers United States of America is a country that has a foundation of diverse social, economic and political factors that have been constantly changing over the last few centuries and have shaped the way in which races and various ethnic groups relate, align, and participate in political processes (Holloway, 2013). The 19th and 20th centuries are seen as the most definitive years which the fate of people of color and other ethnic minorities was determined. The magnitude of social issues and legislations that were enacted during these years ranging from civil right movements, women suffrage, to voting rights were of great significance and most of them are still binding in the current American society (Tyson, 2016). These socio economic and political manifestations in the country have also shaped the raceperceptions and some people believe it is the period in history that defined race relations to date. The most volatile issue over the years has been the right to vote irrespective of diversities such as color, income, race, ethnic groups, immigration status, among other factors. People of color have always been on the receiving end of laws that prevent them from voting and exercising their constitutional right of freely electing leaders (Schuit Rogowski, 2016). The colonists had never accepted the authority of the duty on tea, and the Tea Act rekindled their opposition to it. This act was also passed because there was plenty of tea left to rot in a warehouse, so with an attempt to save the troubled enterprise the British Parliament passed the Tea Act. The act granted the company the right to ship the tea directly to the colonies and to commission agents, which had the right to sell tea in the different colonies. Iron Thermal Conductivity And Thermal Expansion Aluminium is a very reactive metal with high affinity for oxygen but the metal is highly resistant to most environments and to a great variety of chemical agents. This resistance is due to the inert and protective character of the aluminium oxide film which forms on the metal surface. Welding of aluminium still represents a critical operation due to its complexity and the high level of defect that can be produced in the joint. The main problems are related to the properties of aluminium. They are: High thermal conductivity and thermal expansion. High chemical reactivity with oxygen. High hydrogen solubility at high temperature. All this factors can cause presence of defects on the weld bead; like high thermal conductivity and high thermal expansion can cause distortions in the weld, high chemical reactivity with oxygen may include inclusions and porosity in the weld, high hydrogen solubility at high temperature may cause hydrogen embrittlement or hydrogen induced cracking. The Friction Stir Welding(FSW) represents a possible solution. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a new solid state joining technique which was invented by The Welding Institute (TWI) in 1991.This technique is now increasingly used to join high strength aluminium alloys such as 2xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx and 8xxx series. Although the average of all freelancers bid prices, namely the estimate of the common value, is $80 in both scenarios, the dispersion in scenario (a) is larger than that in scenario (b). In scenario (b), all three freelancers bid a price very close to $80, which delivers a consistent message to the buyer that the common value of the IT service is $80. Hence, the buyer is less uncertain to infer the common value as $80. In scenario (a), however, the three freelancers have very different bid prices, which makes a buyer more uncertain about the common value of the IT service ($80). In sum, a buyer will have higher (lower) common value uncertainty when bid price dispersion is high (low). We argue that the common value could serve as a practical benchmark to evaluate each freelancer s bid price and infer how much more or less a buyer should pay a particular freelancer (to overcome private value uncertainty). Using our running example, in Scenario (a), the three bids prices ($40, $80, $120) are highly dispersed around the average of $80, and it will be very difficult for a buyer to evaluate any of these bids in terms of how much more or less she would need to pay a particular freelancer. Winston Churchill, a politician and army leader, stated that, I have always held the view that the maintenance of peace depends upon the accumulation of deterrents against the aggressor, coupled with a sincere effort to redress grievances. (Document B). Churchill believed that if France or Britain put in an effort to strategize and stop Germany, they would have prevented Germany from invading Czechoslovakia. Churchill also further states that, ... I ventured to ... pledge that in conjunction with France and other powers they would guarantee the security of Czechoslovakia ... and I still believe that if that course had been followed events would not have fallen to this disastrous state... Kennan, a historian and American diplomat claims that, We know today that is was unnecessary ... because the Czech defenses were very strong... and because the German generals, conscious of Germany s relative weakness at the moment... • 24. Politics Of The Polarized Classroom Essay Politics of the Polarized Classroom A Popular Trope By now, one must have already heard or read about the story of a young man standing up to his professor in philosophy class, the latter being a self professed atheist. Simply put, the professor claimed that it was stupid to believe in God because there was no empirical proof of God. The young man, however, wittily retorts that since the class really had no empirical proof of the professor s brain, then they really had no business believing him. The same trope is basically used in a more elaborated rendition in the recent Christian film God s Not Dead (2014). There, an atheist professor challenges a Christian student for his irrational beliefs, but suddenly comes to terms with the irrationality of his own belief system by the end of the movie (Noble). An average movie at best, it can be said that richer meaning might be found in the circumstances of its creation. Movies, after all, mimic aspects of reality regardless of genre, so that the political realities described therein are hardly fictional in nature. Simply put, to create a film is to participate politically (Christensen and Haas 6). Here, it is profitable to point out the three things both texts have in common: (1) both feature an atheistic professor; (2) both feature a Christian student who avidly believes God; and (3) both occur in the classroom. These factors are important to note, and the third point needs stressing, as it is central to the plot of both texts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells is that eukaryotic cells have a nucleus. The nucleus is where cells store their DNA, which is the genetic material. The nucleus is surrounded by a membrane. Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. Instead, their DNA floats around inside the cell. Organisms with prokaryotic cells are called prokaryotes. All prokaryotes are single celled (unicellular) organisms. Bacteria and Archaea are the only prokaryotes. Organisms with eukaryotic cells are called eukaryotes. Fernando Cardenal, serving as the National Literacy Crusade Coordinator, and Valerie Miller, a CNA advisor, outlined that the literacy campaign would not just eradicate illiteracy, but create an identity of a new man [and a] new woman for Nicaraguans. Through the CNA, the Sandinistas hoped to introduce young Nicaraguans to the difficulties and hardship endured by Nicaraguas poor rural population. For many of the brigadistas who volunteered, the 1980 literacy campaign served as their first experience with the other side of Nicaragua s population, a side that remained unseen and not thought of by many under the Somoza regime. The life that brigadistas lived in during the CNA significantly altered their perspectives on society, both politically and culturally. The Sandinistas did in fact succeed at redefining the concept of the Nicaraguan experience for its youth. The Nicaraguan volunteers in the National Literacy Crusade developed a sense of new nationalism for Nicaragua defined by their experiences with the illiterate Nicaraguan population. The accounts of this change is most evident from the experiences of brigadistas working in the Nicaragua s poor rural regions. Brigadistas, the majority of whom came from urban middle class backgrounds, gained an appreciation for the rural farmers and laborers. Newton s book, Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica, often called Principia for short, was completed by April 1686 and is one of the greatest pieces of scientific literature ever written. Much credit is deserved to Edmond Halley as his initial visit to Cambridge in the fall of 1684 reminded Newton of the work that needed to be completed regarding celestial mechanics. This visit prompted the writing of De motu and quickly lead to the writing of Principia (Cropper 30). Although a groundbreaking piece of literature, the Principia is one of the most incomprehensible books ever written. In about 500 pages and 340 complicated diagrams, Newton proves his arguments with the use of formally presented propositions with demonstrations. To understand the arguments explained in the book, the reader must comprehend each proposition in sequence (Cropper 31). Another problem that renders the Principia very difficult for the modern reader is that Newton chose to write the book in ancient geometrical style.
