Introduction
The consumer electronics magnate Apple Inc. has been accused of labor abuse in
its Asian supply chain. The acquiescence of underage labor, excessive working
hours and illegitimate low wage in China based Foxconn factories is clear evidence
of corporate social responsibility (CSR) omission. In fact, such acquiescence is the
result of an exploitation chain, with Apple at the top, Chinese workers at the bottom
and Foxconn in between.

Low bargaining power and labor market disequilibrium
The inelasticity of labor supply curtails the bargaining power of workers and places
them at a disadvantage against their employer. Most of Foxconn employees are
underprivileged and consequently undereducated. The first feature deprives them of
alternatives other than working to support their families and the second pronounces
that they are unqualified for many occupations other than mechanical chores on the
assembly line. This scarcity of options enables Foxconn to impose harsh working

and emotional fatigue resulting from persistent frustration. It can cause a lack of

affects instructors but also their students. Studies show that burned out people
experience emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and a reduced sense of personal

Cimabue created Virgin and Child Enthroned in about 1280, while Giotto di
Bondone, an Italian painter and architect, created his Virgin and Child Enthroned

similarities. However, the most obvious similarities are that both focus on Mary and
the Child Jesus, are long and pentagon shaped, and include figures of angels and
prophets. In addition, both paintings have a sort of Byzantine influence (Cimabues
painting more than Giotto s), including the golden backgrounds and the hierarchy of
the figures ( The Ognissanti ). However, there are many noticeable differences
between the paintings as well. In this discussion post, I will be focusing on three
major differences: the portrayal of Mary; the positioning of Mary and Jesus; and the

important to mention that the painting styles of Cimabue and Giotto differed

Bridge, is a great example of differing themes in a piece of work. In the entry, evident

Though both the motion picture and short narrative both fully cover the theme of
imagination verses reality, the story allowed its readers to find clues that he was
most likely dreaming. Statements and observations such as he could view the
individual trees, the leaves and veining of each leaf he saw the very insect upon
them... and being able to see the grey eye of his shooter allows the readers to make
their own assumptions that this is probably not reality (Bierce). In the film, the
ending came as a shock almost, yet in the story, it was not that big of a surprise (An
Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge). There are no indications that the lead character
was dreaming. The theme of reality verses imagination leads to another important
theme that can be found as the embodiment of the story. It is evident that Bierce
was making many references to war in his entry. The whole story was built upon
the idea; from the setting to the cause of Fahrquhar s death and from the shots being
fired to the reference to the Confederacy. War was directly linked to the previously
mentioned theme, imagination verses reality. The central character wants to be a
war hero; which is an apparent desire he had since he could not actually take part in
