Before I went to become staff on MineHQ, I was a P Admin on VeltPvP. After I safely, and

Sulium (VeltPvP Owner) would come into TeamSpeak saying that MineHQ stole his staff, being

The Negative Aspects Of Social And Gender Inequality In...
Between 10,000 and 1,000 BCE, replacement and transition from hunter gathering, a nomadic
lifestyle to agriculture, a sedentary society took effect. Our antecedents made an pessimistic
decision on shifting to agriculture. Socially, change was seen through social and gender inequality
which led to problematic societies. Poor diets and the uprise of diseases contributed to the negative
aspects of agriculture.
Transition can be analyzed through specific events in history to manifest how agriculture was an
impoverished lifestyle due to social and gender inequality. The creation of social class was not the
best decision that helped rise and organize civilization like progressivists want us to believe.
Agriculture promoted social inequality by ranking citizens or residents of the area based on
their living conditions and their financial or economic situation.Through social classes, everyone
was treated and approached differently. In the early river valley civilizations between 1792 1750
BCE, a Babylonian King named Hammurabi created a code of laws called The Hammurabi
Code. This written code of law gave different punishments to every social class. For instance, if an
individual from a higher class has put out an individual from the lower class eye, the individual
from the higher class shall pay half its value ( law #199). Furthermore, as social classes started
developing gender inequality arose. During the fifth century BC, Ancient Athens created a new
form of government

Essay on An Analysis Of John Berger
Pictures Don amp;#8217;t Always Paint a Thousand Words
John Berger makes a bold statement in saying amp;#8220; No other relic or text from the past can
offer such a direct testimony about the world which surrounded other people at other times. In this
respect images are more precise and richer than literature, ; (Ways of Reading, 106). This statement
is very untrue. Literature has been the focal point of all modern learning.. Literature lets the reader
feel what the author is thinking, not just see it as you would in a painting. This can be proven after
reading Berger amp;#8216;s descriptions of paintings in Ways of Seeing and also reading parts of
literature written by W.E.BDubois.
When a reader reads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example, that writing explains much more than a picture is Berger amp;#8217;s On
Rembrandt amp;#8217;s amp;#8220;Women in Bed. ; When I look at this painting I see a young
woman looking up at something from her bed. He writes amp;#8220; there is a complicity
between the women and the painter. This complicity includes both retinence and abandon , day
and night. The curtain of the bed which Hendrickje lifts up her hand , marks the threshold between
daytime and nighttime. ;( 129) From this painting I could not see any of this. The writing paints
this picture in the readers mind, much better than the actual image. This explanation also enables a
reader to relate to the writing. From this writing I can see this girl in the bed and almost feel what
she is thinking. From the picture all I saw was a girl laying in bed, nothing more.
Again Berger describes Caravaggio amp;#8217;s amp;#8220;The Calling of St. Matthew ;. In
this picture, to the naked eye, all the viewer would see is group of men in a dimly lit room. But
through Berger amp;#8217;s description a reader or viewer can see much more . Berger
amp;#8217;s says this painting depicts amp;#8220; five men sitting around their usual table ,
telling stories , gossiping, boasting of what one day the will do, counting money .Suddenly the
door is flung open . The two figures

The Story Map Of Home
The story Map of Home gives insight into the lives of a family that has been pushed out of their
home that now must travel to different country s as refugees. One of the points of conflict in the
book is based on the us vs them dichotomy which is based on the notion of fear of others and fear
of reaction. This situation has caused a fracture between the refugees and the country s taking them
in. In this paper one will also see how this conflict relates the situation in
Paris and also argue the position of whether it is right to justify action based on fear. This is
problematic because this process deems ignorance, fear and pride as an acceptable way of
approaching a situation when it should be approached with kindness, and respect ... Show more

The attack has fractured the relationship between nations and refuges which has caused a dire
problem for [refugees] a person who flees for refuge or safety, especially to a foreign country, as
in time of political upheaval, war (Dictionary.com) all over the world. Many countries are closing
their doors on refugees based on the notion of fear and what if.
For example, What if we get bomb or threatened? What if the refuges are terrorist? This notion is
based on fear and fear of others, which instills a fear of rejection to those looking for help. The
most difficult part about this conflict is that the questions being asked are important to the security
of the country. Most of the people that are refugees are running away from the same terrorist
group that attacked Paris. When we react with an emotion reaction like fear and enclose oneself

Essay on The Sarbanes-Oxley Act
There are so many organizations today that are using the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) legislation that
helps to safeguard their company and their financial records. The Sarbanes Oxley act began in
2002 and the purpose behind this act was to protect organizations, it had a major impact on
accounting and record keeping. Because of Enron, they passed this act for publicly traded
corporations to better implement control to their enterprise data. Named after Senator Paul
Sarbanes and Representative Michael Oxley, who also set a number of deadlines for compliance
(SOX Law ). The Sarbanes Oxley Act is arranged into eleven titles, but the most important sections
within these are often considered to be 302, 401, 404, 409, 802 and 906 (SOX Law ). The... Show

Comparing Pride In Angela s Ashes And The Big Lebowski
Pride is a theme analyzed in Frank McCourt s Angela s Ashes, as well as the Cohen Brother s
acclaimed The Big Lebowski, but both works burrow into a more complex idea behind it.
Contrary to the assumption of many distinctive characters in the two, humility and subservience
may narrow choices, but pride eliminates possibility. In The Big Lebowski, Walter, the main
character s central friend, is written as an exceedingly prideful, clamoring, war obsessed
bowling fanatic, who often refuses to let others conclusions affect his own. You want a toe? I

Essay about Shi ite Sunni Conflict
Iraq and Iran have been subjected to a civil war since the seventh century (Murphy 1). This
existing problem began because of political and theological divergence, but with the help of
outside forces such as Britain, Russia, and North America, it developed into a more complex crisis.
Many non Muslims believe the cause of the Shi ite and Sunni violence originated from their
religious differences. However the differences in tradition, education, law, and religious practices
are a small factor in this escalating problem. The core of their faith is practically identical. Both
factions believe that Muhammad, their prophet, was the messenger of Allah. They also believe that

Ali shared the same blood as Muhammad. In their opinion, this made Ali holy. Shi ites saw
caliphs more as spiritual and temporal leaders rather than rulers. Each side had its rational
notions, but since more people followed Bakr, he was appointed the next caliph. Shi ite
remained under his guidance, but felt it was an abomination. Two more leaders, Umar and
Utham, followed, each appointed by Sunnis. The Shi ite then began to act on their beliefs and
some of Ali s dedicated followers murdered Utham, bringing his reign to an abrupt end. In 656
A.D. Ali became the successor ( Sunni Shi a 2). Many Muslims knew the cause of Utham s
death and were angry at Ali, for he had not brought Utham s killers to justice, one of whom was
Mu awiya, who had been the governor of Damascus and cousin of Utham. When Ali was
assassinated in 661 A.D., Mu awiya felt great pleasure in his death and found his revenge in
stealing Ali s old position; there was, yet again, another Sunni leader. Mu awiya lead the Sunni
Muslims through a prosperous time, the Umayyad dynasty. This period of growth played a huge
role in the power, control, and population of the Sunni Muslims while the Shi ttes remained
uninvolved. In the year 661 A.D. many converted to the Sunni ways, for they were very successful.
During the Umayyad dynasty, the Shi ite continued to follow Ali s son, Hussain, also known as

The process of bubble net feeding is like a game of football, where members specialize in an
specific factor of the bubble feeding. Bubble feeding techniques are interesting because the
techniques used depend on who the lead of the blowing bubbles which allow the group to capture
the school of fishes ( Kelsey 2008: 57 58). The leaders of the bubble feeding groups can be either
male or female. Often times, humpback whales have been observed pairing up with specific
individuals during the summer bubble net feeding. The humpback whales that stay with the same
group seem to develop more efficient and successful techniques (Kelsey 2008:59). Humpbacks
whales ability to form reciprocal bonds outside of kinship is demonstrated through their their
formation of partner or group bubble net feeding for the entire summer, even through different
decades, with non related humpback whales (Kelsey 2008: 59). Yet, the relationships between
humpback whales are not always harmonious, when two different bubble feeding groups
collaborate together there are often tensions and competitions has the individual humpback whales
renegotiate their role within their group( Kelsey 2008: 60). Furthermore, when two groups are
feeding in the same area, if on humpbacks from one group think that the other group is more
successful in catching they may easily drop their alliance with their group in order to join what
they think of being more successful bubble net feeding (Kelsey 2008:60). One of the reasons for
the group patterns for bubble net feeding over the summer and not the winter might be that during
the summer since there are predictable and abundant schools of fish (Kelsey

The style of the artwork is surrealistic. The subject matter is a barren landscape with melting
clocks draped over unrelated objects, caricature of Dali s face on the ground, plus a rocky
headland with sea in the background. The focal point of the artwork is the strange caricature of
Dali s profile, complete with eyelashes, tongue and nose. This is because it is so light amongst dark

also used to communicate a feeling in this painting. The strongly contrasting colours creates a
mysterious shadowy atmosphere in the unusual foreground objects, which is balanced by the

There are some lines been used in the artwork, which is thin, straight and neat. Dali used very

contrast between the darker foreground, and the lighter background areas of the landscape. This
contrast creates the effect of visual interest in the composition. And the surface of the artwork is

William Shakespeare s A Good And Lasting Legacy
William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare left a good, lasting legacy that we see almost every day and we don t even
know it s there. A legacy is something that you leave behind weather good or bad, Shakespeare s
left a legacy of books and being thought as one of the greatest writers in the world. In William s
life he created many pieces of literature and words that people use everywhere today. We may not
know a whole lot about William Shakespeare s life but we can see that he was a very gifted man in
playwriting. Some people still today, with all the knowledge we have about his think he may not
have written all of his works, and that someone else wrote them and he was credited for them.
Shakespeare was a man that wrote many pieces, and many inspired and helped teach other people a
lesson.
We don t really know what Shakespeare s life was really like but we can get a general idea from
the pieces he has written. In all of his many great works, William Shakespeare remains a strange
man when it comes to his history. There are just two sources of information on the Shakespeare
and his works, and some documents that have survived from Elizabeth s time. There are many
holes in this piece of information, it tells us little about Shakespeare and who he really was (

Pride In A Good Man Is Hard To Find
Excessive Pride can sometimes lead to an undesirable state of mind. Some people may compare
themselves to others who are luckier and more successful in life. Through their arrogance, they may
present themselves to other people as egocentric and indifferent. Arrogance may introduce people to
negative characteristics such as greed and selfishness through subtle manipulation. In the short
story The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant, the narrator informs us about a woman who is filled
with greed. Similarly, in the story A Good Man Is Hard to Find by Flannery O Connor, we learned
about a grandmother who selfishly attempts subtle manipulation with her family and other

tension between the countries of the Ottoman Empire. Prior to the war s beginning on May 23,
1618, Europe was in a state of religious, political, and imperial turmoil. The Lutherans, Catholics,

Although Wedgwood mentions the incident, she doesn t emphasize it being a huge turning point
with regard to the conflicts in Germany. The extraordinary chance which had saved three lives
was a holy miracle or a comic accident according to the religion of the beholder, but it had no
political significance (Wedgwood p. 79). The Denfenstration of Prague is the initial event that
instigated the tension because it was a rebellion. People became angry and fought for what they
thought was right. Frederick and Ferdinand began to raise their own armies by asking for help
from other European countries. Ferdinand received assistance from Maximilian of Bavaria. In
Western Civilizaton, it also mentions him getting help from Spain. He ensured this help by
promising Frederick s lands to them. Wedgwood explains that this could be considered
unconstitutional according to the Peace of Augsburg. Ferdinand signed this document declaring
that German liberties would be observed in 1555. This means that each country can have its own
religion if it s Catholic or Lutheran and that they are the Electors for the empire. If the German
princes do not consent to the impeachment of Frederick as Bohemian king, then giving the land
away is stealing. Frederick asked England for support, especially since he was married to the
English King s daughter Elizabeth. Unfortunately, the king had declined any

The Rise and Fall of the Aztec Civilization Essay

The Rise and fall of the Aztec Empire is possibly the most important area of study in the modern
world. Of all of the nomadic tribes who migrated into Mexico, the Aztecs were one of the last. At
first driven away by established tribes, the Aztecs slowly began to develop an empire of immense
wealth and power by the late fifteenth century. Due in large part to the accomplishments of their
ruler Itzcoatl, the empire expanded to include millions of people from a number of different tribes,
including the Cempoala, who would later aid the Spanish in defeating the Aztecs. Because of the

Fearful of the Spanish, and hateful of the wealth and power of the Aztecs, some of the native tribes,
particularly the Cempoala and others from the cities of Tlaxcala and Tezcoca, joined forces with
Cortes. After the Spaniards annihilated the Cholultecas, the terrified people of the Aztec empire did
their best to please them, as the Europeans made their way inland.
By the time Cortes reached Tenochititlan, he had accumulated a large number of allies. Believing
that Cortes was indeed Quetzalcoatl, Montezuma greeted the Spanish as if they were gods. Cortes
responded, We have come to your house in Mexico as friends. There is nothing to fear. Nevertheless,
Cortes kept Montezuma under guard. Instead of resisting, Montezuma did everything he could to
please the Spanish, ordering his servants to supply everything that Cortes requested. Montezuma s
weakness to the Spanish angered many of his followers, who began to lose respect for their king.
Cortes and his men were amazed by the splendor of the Aztec capital. The Spaniards greed would
then lead them to carry out unprovoked attacks on Aztec temples and military leaders. Cortes then
had Montezuma instruct his angry people not to retaliate, declaring that the Spanish were too
powerful and could not be resisted. However, this angered the Aztecs even more, both at the
Spanish and Montezuma. As advanced as the Aztecs were, they were no match for the Spanish
forces. The Spanish

A Dying Love In Thomas Hardy s Neutral Tones
A Dying Love in Thomas Hardy s Neutral Tones
Love is a strange emotion and can make a person feel ten feet high or a low as a snail. When
most people write about love it is full of life and color; however, Thomas Hardy writes of death
in his experience with love in his poem, Neutral Tones. It is a dramatic monologue poem written in
the 1800s and is in first person. The title of the poem clearly points out the neutrality of a colorless
failing love. In addition, the poem focuses on describing the events of how the couple ends the
relationship and of how it is beyond repair. The lines of the poem gently explain what it is like for
the author to experience such a dying love. It is effectively written in a way that the reader can feel
the hurt and pain as Hardy explains the sorrow and bitterness as the lovers end the relationship. In
Neutral Tones, Thomas Hardy uses setting, imagery, and symbolism to illustrate the deathof love in
his poem.
The poem begins with the author setting the scene standing with his lover in the winter season. In
the first line of the poem Hardy says, We stood by a pond that winter day (1). This is an
important clue to prepare the reader that the poem is going to be about Hardy s relationship.
Hardy goes on to say in the third and fourth line, And a few leaves lay on the starving sod; / They
had fallen from an ash, and were gray (3 4). In these lines, Hardy uses the words starving, ash and
fallen leaves. These are dramatic words used to

The Atomic Age
After the war in Europe had ended, the United States needed to terminate their participation in
World War II. In order to end the war, military action had to be taken against the Japanese so
cause them to surrender. The only issue was finding a way to carry out an attack that would have
low casualties and funding. During the war, the Japanese soldiers fought to the death, including
mass suicides and attacks by kamikazes, or suicide bombings in planes. A land invasion, such as
D day, could have caused a large death toll on Japan, and also cause many Americans to lose their
lives. The United States believed that to end the war they must make a critical blow to the
Japanese. Thus the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings were born. The bombings... Show more

Nagasaki, the secondary bombing location, had its own reasons for its selection. Although, It
was believed that the mountains and the strange lay out of the city would reduced the area of
destruction, it had been chosen as a target because it was one of the largest seaports in southern
Japan and contained many factories that made ships, military equipment, and other war
materials. The combined destruction of these cities was thought to finally cause Japan to
surrender unconditionally. On the morning of August 6, 1945, about an hour before the bomb
exploded over Hiroshima, Japanese radar had detected American aircraft off the coast of
southern Japan. As the planes grew closer japanese operators had determined that the group of
planes was very small, too small for an air raid or bombing run. They concluded that the planes
were only gathering information, and decided not to take any action against them. This was a
deadly mistake for the Japanese. At 8:15, the Enola Gay, an American B 29 bomber flew over
the city of Hiroshima. At 30,000 feet the plane dropped it load, Little Boy, the world first atomic
bomb. The bomb fell to 1,900 feet and then detonated over the city. The bomb exploded with a
blinding flash in the sky, and a great rush of air and a loud rumble of noise extended for many
miles around the city; the first blast was soon followed by the sounds of falling buildings and of

Cultural Healing in Leslie Marmon Silko s Ceremony Essay
Cultural Healing in Ceremony
Leslie Marmon Silko is a Native American from New Mexico and is part of the Laguna tribe.
She received a MacArthur genius award and was considered one of the 135 most significant
women writers ever. Her home state has named her a living cultural treasure. (Jaskoski, 1) Her well
known novel Ceremony follows a half breed named Tayo through his realization and healing process
that he desperately needs when he returns from the horrors of World War II. This is a process that
takes him back to the history of his culture.

In order to rid him of the physical and mental sickness that the war and the racial issues brought
Tayo, Betonie takes him through a ceremony. In order to complete the ceremony, Betonie tells him
to find a woman, stars, cattle, and a mountain. The woman he meets knew beforehand that Tayo
would come to see her.
A major focus in the novel is the contrast of the treatment of the land between the Native
Americans and the Whites. America holds a convoluted assumption that Indians and Mexicans
should feel guilty for stealing things in America, when the whites originally stole everything by
stealing the land. This is not only a problem with the Indians and the Whites, for many other
groups around the world are experiencing feelings of loss of tradition and alienation from the
majority. Ceremony touches on the racial issues that many people are concerned about and
frustrated with. In an essay titled Fences Against Freedom written by Silko herself, she discusses
her frustrations with the potent racial issues that many people are not even aware of. Much of the
essay focuses on the boarder patrol policies and the unfairness within those systems. She also
touches on the degrading illegal aliens label that is put on Mexicans, saying and I know that I am

Characterism In Looking For Alibrandi By Melina Marchetta
he novel, Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta, focuses on a 17 year old teenager who has
an Italian background called Josephine Alibrandi. Josephine is really two different people at the
beginning and the end of the book. In the beginning, Josephine is overdramatic, poised to react
to her Italian background and her illegitimacy. At the end of the book, Josephine began to
achieve emancipation. She has learnt that she has blown her problems out of proportion, that
not everyone is about to execute her for being Italian and illegitimate. Josephine s interaction
with the other characters has brought this about. She faced quite a number of challenges in her
final year. They include the arrival of Michael Andretti and her change of perspective and
attitude towards Nonna Katia. In the beginning of the novel, Josephine s attitude towards Nonna
was very atrocious. Despite the fact that she disliked Nonna, she still has to come to her house
every afternoon after school. One of the reasons that she disliked coming to Nonna s house was
that she despised the idea of being force fed every afternoon of her life (Quote: I was force fed

How Music Has A Influence On Physical Aspect Of Sexual...
Music has a huge influence on physical aspect of a sexual relationship, as well as the emotional
part of relationships. Music speaks to the mind, body and soul and many singers take advantage
of this influence to express their views on sex and relationships. Song lyrics often have implicit
meanings and literary references. One song in particular called Stimulated, by the rapper Tyga;
real name Michael Ray Nguyen Stevenson portrays the physical aspect of a sexual relationship.
In his song Stimulated, Tyga sings about having sex with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner before she
turns eighteen. The lyrics include They say she young, I should ve waited/She a big girl, dawg,
when she stimulated. These lyrics imply a coarse, vulgar, sparsely disguised metaphor for having
sex. The hidden message in these lyrics is that if the underage girl is stimulated, then it is okay to
have intercourse with her. Furthermore, Tyga is violating the age of consentopenly while at the same
time indirectly admitting statutory rape. These lyrics are clearly encouraging the sexual battery of
statutory rape and blurring the age of consent for sex. The lyrics are hypothetically influencing the
thoughts and behaviors in a way that it is lessening the importance of statutory rape. Encouraging
the listener to take the age of consent and the offence of statutory rape lightly. Switching gears onto
the emotional component of relationships, the singer Britney Spears promotes the idea of dating a

Invitation To A Journey Summary
Invitation to a Journey: A Roadmap for Spiritual Formation is dedicated to spiritual formation.
This can be seen by how it integrates spiritual practice with God s word and with the goal of
guiding the reader toward transformation in the image of Christ. Mulholland doesn t simply cover
the traditionally recognized disciplines, but instead exposes the reader to many aspects of
formation rarely discussed in detail like how our formation involves and impacts others and how
personality structures affect formation. He does talk about the classic four stage pilgrimage of
awakening, purgation, illumination, and union but keeps from making them the main focus. The
book is broken into four sections, The Road Map, The Vehicle, The Journey, and Companions

This process reveals our cross, or area where we must die and be raised into the newness of
Christ s image. To do so requires the step of consecration where we must recognize our cross
point and accept the transforming work of Christ. These two steps begin the process of being
transformed into Christ s image, which is the essence of our forming journey and a vital part of
the definition of spiritual formation. Mulholland then gives extended attention to how our
spiritual formation affects those around us. We are conformed to Christ s image for the sole
purpose of being in a relationship with both God and with others. The example given in support,
is Christ and in his sacrifice, which was for all; he died totally and completely for all and such is
our call in the transforming process of spiritual formation. This concept I thought was the easiest
part of the book because it was the most obvious until I examined my heart. Right now I cannot

Racial Profiling And The Law Enforcements
Literature Review This paper outlines the studies, incidents, facts and statistics that have found
evidence of racial profiling which causes distrust in the law enforcements (police, government
etc0. Studies of racial profiling shows that blacks, Hispanics, Middle Eastern and other racial
minorities are more likely to be stopped than those who are white. They are more likely to be
stopped and searches, traffic stops, license and registration checks. In addition they are more
likely to be ticketed or arrested after being stopped and search. Some scholars and studies believes
that minorities being that are frequently stopped and searched has nothing to do with them being
racially profiled. According to Roh and Robinson, studies raise the possibility that minorities may
be more involved in criminality (Gaines, 2006), some drug crimes (Lichtenberg, 2006), and
speeding offenses (Lange, Johnson, Voas, 2005), thereby justifying higher stop and arrest rates by
policeof some groups. (Roh, S., Robinson, M.) On the other hand, some authors believe that racial
profilingis very much known in society and it is widespread, According to the author there have
been a study by the New York State Attorney General which was conducted in 1999 of the New
York City Police Department s stop and frisk practices of pedestrians found further evidence
suggestive of racial profiling. The study found that although Blacks make up just 26% of the

Examples Of Moral Philosophy
Moral Philosophy is the rational study of the meaning and justification of moral claims. A moral
claim evaluates the rightness or wrongness of an action or a person s character . For example,
stealing is wrong claims that the act of stealing is wrong, and people should not be dishonest claims
a character trait (i.e. dishonesty) is wrong (Gert and Gert). Descriptively, moralityrefers to certain
codes of conduct put forward by a society or a group (such as a religion) or accepted by an
individual for his/her own behavior. Normatively, it refers to a code of conduct that, given
specified conditions, would be put forward by all rational persons. ( What Is Moral Philosophy? ).

of Moral Subjectivism, which implies that an individual s thoughts and feelings determine moral
actions; as oppose to a set of moral principles. Following, is the theory Ethical Egoism, which
states that determining right and wrong is in accordance with one s self interest. Also, that it is
immoral to act contrary to one s own self interest. Thirdly, some individuals agree that culture
determines what actions are morally right or wrong; and are advocates of Cultural Relativism.
Their actions are not guided by a list of moral rules or universal norms. Next, Virtue Ethics claim
that right and wrong are characterized in terms of acting in accordance with the traditional virtues;
making a good person . ( The Nature Morality and Moral Theories ). These theories along with

The Importance Of The Government
Throughout history, government has been criticized and called out for it s inability to do it s job of
protecting its people properly. People see the government as power hungry, cold, and corrupt. This
is evident throughout time when the people are discontent with their government. Henry David
Thoreau once said, That governmentis best which governs least. Henry David Thoreaulived two
hundred years ago, but his statement is still relevant today. I neither disagree or agree with his
statement. Both forms of government has it s flaws and benefits and I feel it s dangerous to only
agree with one side. The government should not be intertwined with the lives of the citizens but
the government should not have a hands off approach either. I believe the government should be a
balance of the hands off approach and the government that utilizes it s power. I believe that a
government that does not use it s power is wrong because it would slow down humanity and leave
the country s citizens vulnerable. Without a strong government, advances in science and medicine
would slow down completely (Figurative language, hyperbole). NASA would cease to exist and
many government backed science programs would be lost. This would mean a considerable loss in
human advancement. A government where it uses it s power can be strong because it unites many
to solve one problem. A government has the power to make changes that a private company may
not have the funds or authority to do. Another reason

Evolution Of War Research Paper
Humanity has resorted to war as a fundamental way to settle their differences. Clausewitz
describes war as the act of force to compel the enemy to do our will. Sun Tzu believed that war
was to subdue the enemy without fighting. However it is defined, every culture has its motives for

territories and resources, settle religious differences, defend against a threat, and for no other reason
than to impose their will on the enemy. To deter war nation states have used diplomatic means to

The Union and the Confederates had differing economies at the onset of the war. The North was
very industrialized in comparison to the agricultural South. Both sides developed a variety of
methods to fund their respective military efforts ranging from taxation, selling government bonds,

established economy to become the colonial power of the age that no other country could match.
This was due to their naval power which they could sustain from, raising funds through long term
credit at low interest rates. In the west economics determined who could adopt the western way of
war and who could not base on the state s ability to keep abreast of changing technology and
maintain the resources to deploy it effectively.
In closing, it was evident that the west had a dramatic influence on the world and as it still does
today. It s important to note that possessing all the elements of the Western way of war does not
guarantee success, it is the application of all the elements along with experience, the government
and the will of the people. Army professionals today must understand that the ability of the United

The Characteristics Of The Greek Gods In Greek Mythology
The Gods in Greek Mythology In the ancient time, there is no any science which can prove or

However, Greek people named these things as gods and portrayed their gods in their own image as

Although there are advantages and disadvantages to both a representative government and

across Australia and, for the most part, the rest of the world whereby a group of representatives

The argument being that representative democracy allows for politically educated and aware
elected representatives, who have the resources and expertise, to make informed decisions. This

Authoritarian Styles Of Parenting Styles
Tyler who s now 5 was told to pick up his toys before dinner, he has not done so and is throwing a

An Authoritarian style parent would yell at Tyler making him pick up the toys by himself. If Tyler

Grounding would be the next step with more yelling for not doing what he told when he is told to

Organized Religion: an Impediment to Human Fulfillment In Catholicism, religious beliefs are
determined by the sacred scripture and tradition. These beliefs offer a comprehensive and definitive
explanation of the nature of God. James Joyce s Portrait of An Artist as a Young Man is a narration
of the transition from childhood to adulthood of the protagonist, Stephen Dedalus, who grows up in
a Catholic society and family life in Ireland. Because of the nature of his church s role in his life,
Stephen faces internal conflict regarding his own thoughts and beliefs about the nature of God.
After many trials and tribulations with his faith life, Stephen realizes that the church s unequivocal
teachings and beliefs actually hinder his ability to find answers to metaphysical questions that arise
in his life. Stephen s religious struggles display how organized religion impedes an individual s
ability to find one s own identity and purpose, subsequently contradicting God s purpose for

Zootopi Is It Better To Live Together Creatively Or...
Zootopia is a mammal metropolis populated by anthropomorphic mammals where predators and
prey species, peacefully coexist and work together. These animals have no intentions on eating each
other and there are minimum conflicts between them. I do not think, that animals would be able to
survive together without eating or harming each other in real life. There are many factors that keep
animals from living together peacefully. These factors include survival instincts, food supplies,
climate and the animal s temperament. The fact that we will never be able to make animals
understand that working together can be beneficial for them can also be something that keeps them
from living together peacefully. Animals have instincts that can keep them from having peaceful
relationships with other animals. They naturally feel the need to fight or feed on other animals for...

In the movie, it shows animals living together that would normally live in very different climate
zones. Such as, a polar bear and a zebra. Polar bears live in very cold climates and zebras live in
hot, dry climates. Another issues is the animal s temperament. Some animals are more violent than
others. Lions for example, are a lot more violent than bunnies and they can cause a lot more
damage. It would be very hard to teach them that violence is not always needed, because it is in
their instincts. As of now, we do not have a good way to communicate with animals. It would be
impossible for us to get animals to understand that living together peacefully can be a good thing.
The relationship of the animals in this movie is unfortunately not realistic. This is not the only thing
in the movie that is unrealistic. The climate zones and the human like characteristics of the animals.
I think that Zootopia is a great movie, but there is no way that it could be

How Did Augustus Made Significant Urban And Architectural...
Essay Topic 4: Augustus made significant urban and architectural interventions on the city of
Rome. Choose three buildings/monuments related to his reign and discuss how they reflect his
impact. What representational messages were they designed to convey?
Many architectural and urban forms and elements that we witness today are largely influenced by
how buildings were design and laid in Rome. Not only in terms of its external design that brought
upon important messages but the design of interiors and the significance of spatial arrangement of
spaces exist within them has created the sense of physical experience in the buildings as well.
Rome s urban development and the rise of architectural movement began during the time of

14 As Stamper argues, this is a significant aspect of portraying authority when one an emperor
uses precedent of Rome s founding 15 and this is shown by Augustus in commemorating the
temple to Julius Caesar as a sign of celebrating his own triumph. The Temple of Julius Caesar sat
on an elevated podium with rostra in front of the colonnade where prows of the ships captured
from the Battle at Actium were hung.16 Similarly, the public rostra erected at the opposite site of
the Forum also consist of captures obtained from the Battle of Actium and these rostra that faced
each other act as a reminder of the glories of the old Republic and the achievements of the restored
Rome under its new leader, Augustus.17 To reflect more of the idea of power, Augustus uses
different architectural elements to deliver them. Similar to the nearby Temple of Castor and Pollux
erected during the Republic, the Temple of Julius Caesar had a pycnostyle composition that
consisted of six closely arranged columns with

Civil Service Benefits
Requiring all high school students to spend one year in service after high school is an amazing
idea. A civil service is a great way to teach young adults responsibility and rigor. Civil service
teaches students great responsibilities like tending to wounds and learning how to care for
yourself, as well as others. young adults often have jobs other than just to protect our country in
the civil service, they often clean, serve food, and much more. These jobs are put in place to
teach these new soldiers rigor in their daily tasks that can be put in place for future jobs, therefore
congress should definitely pass this law. In addition to giving some students an idea of what they
would like to do for the rest of their lives, civil service opens... Show more content on

Often learning trial and error, most young adults haven t learned how to take care of themselves.
Not to mention the fact that being in the civil service is highly dangerous. Some families would
be very upset if their child died in the service because they were forced to go there. The
population would significantly decrease if this law was issued because millions of heroes die
every year being in the civil service, and as of now only males are on a list to go. Some student
just aren t in good enough physical shape to join the civil service and may require more effort/time
to be in peak physical shape instructors would like. This would waste valuable time in training than
just letting those students go off to college. Because some students would like to be in fields
requiring many years of school and don t have time to serve in the civil service, only certain young
adults should be required to the civil service for a year. So all together, I think Congress should
pass this law, but put stricter limitations on who has to go into the civil service for a year because
students haven t learned valuable life skills and some have important careers to attend

Reducing Behavior Problems Through Functional...
The article Reducing Behavior Problems Through Functional Communication Training by Edward
G. Carr and V. Mark Durand addresses the issues of choosing replacement behaviors. The research
consisted of two experiments. The first experiment considered when problem behaviors are more
likely to take place. The problem behaviors were aggression, tantrums, and self injury. The results
disclosed lack of adult attention and the difficultly of the task both activated behavioral problems.
The second experiment used the assessment data collected from the first experiment to select a
replacement behavior. The children were taught to verbally seek help, attention, or both from
adults. The purpose of the study was to provide more direction when choosing a functionally
appropriate replacement behavior in order to decrease inappropriate behaviors. The treatment
produced replicable suppression of behavior problems across four disabled children. The results
were reliable with the hypothesis, which states that some child problem behaviors are seen as
nonverbal means of communication. The study consisted of two females and two males. Two of

Foreign Aid For Economic And Humanitarian Development...
Post the Oslo Accords in 1993, multiple countries supported aid for economic and humanitarian
development in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Foreign aid was also used to support the
initiation of a peace process between the Palestinians and Israelis. There was a hope of an
improvement in the economic standing in the region from both the international community and
majority of the Palestinian population. However, it is arguable that the economy of the occupied
Gaza Stripand West Bankhas in fact plummeted to an even worse condition than before the Oslo
Accords. Although there have been positive short term outcomes from the Accords, there have been
far more long term and complex consequences. Donor countries, most importantly the United
States, were not able to effectively allocate aid in order to reduce the inefficiency of the Palestinian
economy. The inability of the United States to provide stable economic and humanitarian
development within Palestine is the result of three main issues: Israeli military occupation and
blockades, the unintentional implementation of a dependency for aid in occupied Palestine, and
political patronage.
Focusing on the United States as a major donor, U.S. bilateral economic and humanitarian
assistance to Palestine will be unsuccessful with continuing support towards Israeli military
occupation and blockades in the occupied West Bank. Palestine has been allocated approximately
$5 billion in U.S. bilateral economic assistance post the Oslo

Analysis of the Gempei War Essay
Analysis of the Gempei War In May 1180 Prince Mochihito, the son of Retired emperor Go
Shirakawa, issued a statement urging the Minamoto to rise against the Taira. While Mochihito
would be killed in June and Minamoto Yorimasa crushed at the Battle of the Uji, a fire had been
set. In September Minamoto Yoritomo, who had recieved Mochihito s call from Miyoshi
Yasukiyo, set about raising an army in the Province of Izu, where he had been in exile. There
was an irony in the preceeding events, as Taira Kiyomori had himself sown the seeds of the war,
so the poetic tale goes. His great error, we are told, had been to spare the sons of Minamoto
Yoshitomo in the wake of the Heiji disturbance, allowing these three boys Yoritomo, Noriyori, and

His motivations for this abortive upheaval are unclear, but by the end of the year, the emperor
was back in Kyoto. In truth, the Taira seem to have settled on a containment policy as regarded
Yoritomo, and made little effort following the Battle of Fujigawa to reassert their control in the
Kanto. They did have their hands full with other local warriors rising up, men who used the
Minamoto name as a pretext for land grabs and the settling of old disputes. In the middle of
1181, Yoritomo made a surprising offer to the Taira that called for the partition of the country
between the two families, with Yoritomo taking the eastern half of the country. Despite some
favorable murmers from the Court, the Taira dismissed the notion out of hand. Yoritomo s offer
is in any event an odd one. He had, after all, been operating quite without concern for Kyoto since
the previous summer and was at this point more or less immune to a direct Taira attack. It may
well be then, as some scholars have suggested, that Yoritomo was hoping to head off the threat
represented by Minamoto (Kiso) Yoshinaka. Also known as Kiso Yoshinaka (from the area of
Shinano he hailed from), this rough and tumble warrior was to prove an immediate threat to the
Taira and to Yoritomo s claims of Minamoto leadership. Somewhat earlier, Yoritomo s uncle Yukiie
had taken the field and was to suffer defeat at the hands of Taira Tomomori at

Roetter Anticipated About Diversity Case Study
Twitter Not Twitterpated About Diversity
There are no black engineers in leadership positions at Twitter. There was, but Engineering
Manager Leslie Miley, formerly the only black engineer in a leadership position at Twitter, has
left the company. According to Tech Crunch, the reason for his departure has everything to do
with the way Twitter is addressing diversity and inclusion. Miley passed on his severance package
because if he accepted it he would have had to agree to keep some things to himself. He now has
the freedom to speak out about his experiences at the company.
Some of the things that made Miley uncomfortable was the sense that blacks were not looked at
with the same respect as others. There was no expectation that, as a people, they could earn
positions of leadership. He recalls being in a leadership meeting with Twitter s senior vice president
of engineering, Alex Roetter, and asking what Twitter was doing to increase diversity. He
remembers being told that Diversity is important, but we won t lower the bar. ... Show more content

My Experience At The Mountain View Hospital
Reflection
This semester I volunteered my time at the Mountain View Hospital in the Women s Department,
specifically in the postpartum section. I chose this volunteer opportunity because it significantly
relates to my career path and passion. I am biological sciences major and
Psychology minor (pre medical) and the goal of my medical career is to become an
Obstetrician/gynecologist and then potentially specialize in the fertility and infertility of women.
Throughout the course of this semester I would volunteer at Mountain View on Friday evenings.
My main job in the postpartum section was to attend to the basic needs of the new mothers, I would
provide water, ice chips, snacks, and clean linens when needed. I manned the main entrance of ...

However, I can do other things to provide care, compassion, and relief to the post partum
mothers. On one of my days volunteering I had a particularly nice experience, which reflects how
volunteers can provide a service to their community through small acts of kindness. A mother just
had her third child, her other two children, who seemed to be no older that 5 or 6 years old, were
restless and quite out of control. There was a male figure who came and went a few times, but he
didn t seem to have any attachment to the other two children. The mother seemed overwhelmed
probably because of the exhaustion and stress of childbirth. Also, she was stuck in bed while her
incisions from her C section healed. According to the nurses, she was only permitted to walk a
lap around the nurse s station every few hours, let alone chase around her other rowdy children.
So I had an idea: in the post partum department we have these wagons that are decorated with
characters from Winnie the Pooh and Finding Nemo. To offer the mother some rest, I asked if I
could pull her children around the Women s Department in the wagon. The mother accepted my
offer and I loaded the two children, Leah and Ryder, into the wagon. I pulled the two kids around
for about 45 minutes. When I came back to the mother s room, she thanked me many times. It was
personally rewarding to help the mother, even though it was just a small gesture.

What Is Sherman Alexie s The Absolutely True Diary Of A...
When it comes to societies, all of them have their own customs. These customs force the people
of each society to conform to specific standards in order to get along. Usually they have two types
of rules; these are written and unwritten. The majority of the rules are written so that people will
be more likely to follow them. On the other hand, unwritten rules are used to guide communication
on a more personal level. This can be seen in the novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time
Indian by Sherman Alexie. The author uses the story of a bullied Indian named Junior who decides
to go against societal norms and attend an all white school in order to challenge the views of each
community. In this story, the Indians often resort to violence when faced with something that
threatens their culture, or way of life. They see the fact... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

with their first Indian student, are a little afraid so they resort to what they were always taught

Chief and Red Skin. They also did this because they feared Junior. While explaining his first day
at Reardan he says, None of those guys punched me or got violent. After all, I was a reservation
Indian, and no matter how geeky and weak I appeared to be, I was still a potential killer. So
mostly they called me names. Lots of names (Alexie 63). This shows that they fear him just as
much as he fears them. Soon, they realize he is not a threat to them, and they quickly became
friends with him. This is shown when the Reardan crowd cheered Junior on after seeing the way
the Indians treated him at the first basketball game. They also booed the Indian team upon their
arrival to the Reardan gym. This shows how the whites use a verbal approach to deal with

Raising Cattle Raiser Research Paper
Raising cattle is no easy feat. How much time and money do you suppose is demanded upon cattle
raisers? Probably more than you could fathom. A cattle raiser has to be ready for the inevitable
encounters faced by the industry. Loyalty to your livestock s health as well as enhancing your
marketing skills is vital in cattle production. As a business, Jones Cattle has many responsibilities
that require provision, resourcefulness, managing, innovation, and above all, protecting the cattle
themselves. Here are five key things to take into consideration when raising cattle.
1. Knowledge and wisdom of the industry
In order to succeed in the cattle business, it is vital you can recognize high quality calves. You
have to know if a heifer or a bull is good or not before you buy it and breed it to make babies to

3. Importance of animal health
Just as it is important that humans take in proper nutrition to remain healthy, it is imperative for
cattle as well. Proper nutrition is imperative to raising healthy cattle, but there are plenty of other
health dynamics to take into account. Sicknesses and injuries of your cattle can be expensive and
can also hurt your business. Having a vet that you trust to care for your calves needs is important in
order to prevent those from happening, and especially when it comes to vaccinations. Getting your
cattle the proper treatment they need is the only way to keep them alive and healthy.

  • 3. The Negative Aspects Of Social And Gender Inequality In... Between 10,000 and 1,000 BCE, replacement and transition from hunter gathering, a nomadic lifestyle to agriculture, a sedentary society took effect. Our antecedents made an pessimistic decision on shifting to agriculture. Socially, change was seen through social and gender inequality which led to problematic societies. Poor diets and the uprise of diseases contributed to the negative aspects of agriculture. Transition can be analyzed through specific events in history to manifest how agriculture was an impoverished lifestyle due to social and gender inequality. The creation of social class was not the best decision that helped rise and organize civilization like progressivists want us to believe. Agriculture promoted social inequality by ranking citizens or residents of the area based on their living conditions and their financial or economic situation.Through social classes, everyone was treated and approached differently. In the early river valley civilizations between 1792 1750 BCE, a Babylonian King named Hammurabi created a code of laws called The Hammurabi Code. This written code of law gave different punishments to every social class. For instance, if an individual from a higher class has put out an individual from the lower class eye, the individual from the higher class shall pay half its value ( law #199). Furthermore, as social classes started developing gender inequality arose. During the fifth century BC, Ancient Athens created a new form of government ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on An Analysis Of John Berger Pictures Don amp;#8217;t Always Paint a Thousand Words John Berger makes a bold statement in saying amp;#8220; No other relic or text from the past can offer such a direct testimony about the world which surrounded other people at other times. In this respect images are more precise and richer than literature, ; (Ways of Reading, 106). This statement is very untrue. Literature has been the focal point of all modern learning.. Literature lets the reader feel what the author is thinking, not just see it as you would in a painting. This can be proven after reading Berger amp;#8216;s descriptions of paintings in Ways of Seeing and also reading parts of literature written by W.E.BDubois. When a reader reads ... Another example, that writing explains much more than a picture is Berger amp;#8217;s On Rembrandt amp;#8217;s amp;#8220;Women in Bed. ; When I look at this painting I see a young woman looking up at something from her bed. He writes amp;#8220; there is a complicity between the women and the painter. This complicity includes both retinence and abandon , day and night. The curtain of the bed which Hendrickje lifts up her hand , marks the threshold between daytime and nighttime. ;( 129) From this painting I could not see any of this. The writing paints this picture in the readers mind, much better than the actual image. This explanation also enables a reader to relate to the writing. From this writing I can see this girl in the bed and almost feel what she is thinking. From the picture all I saw was a girl laying in bed, nothing more. Again Berger describes Caravaggio amp;#8217;s amp;#8220;The Calling of St. Matthew ;. In this picture, to the naked eye, all the viewer would see is group of men in a dimly lit room. But through Berger amp;#8217;s description a reader or viewer can see much more . • 5. The Story Map Of Home The story Map of Home gives insight into the lives of a family that has been pushed out of their home that now must travel to different country s as refugees. One of the points of conflict in the book is based on the us vs them dichotomy which is based on the notion of fear of others and fear of reaction. This situation has caused a fracture between the refugees and the country s taking them in. In this paper one will also see how this conflict relates the situation in Paris and also argue the position of whether it is right to justify action based on fear. This is problematic because this process deems ignorance, fear and pride as an acceptable way of approaching a situation when it should be approached with kindness, and respect ... The most difficult part about this conflict is that the questions being asked are important to the security of the country. Most of the people that are refugees are running away from the same terrorist group that attacked Paris. Comparing Pride In Angela s Ashes And The Big Lebowski Pride is a theme analyzed in Frank McCourt s Angela s Ashes, as well as the Cohen Brother s acclaimed The Big Lebowski, but both works burrow into a more complex idea behind it. Many non Muslims believe the cause of the Shi ite and Sunni violence originated from their religious differences. However the differences in tradition, education, law, and religious practices are a small factor in this escalating problem. The core of their faith is practically identical. Two more leaders, Umar and Utham, followed, each appointed by Sunnis. Prior to the war s beginning on May 23, 1618, Europe was in a state of religious, political, and imperial turmoil. The Lutherans, Catholics, and Calvinists were all competing for religious dominance. The extraordinary chance which had saved three lives was a holy miracle or a comic accident according to the religion of the beholder, but it had no political significance (Wedgwood p. 79). The Denfenstration of Prague is the initial event that instigated the tension because it was a rebellion. People became angry and fought for what they thought was right. Frederick and Ferdinand began to raise their own armies by asking for help from other European countries. Ferdinand received assistance from Maximilian of Bavaria. In Western Civilizaton, it also mentions him getting help from Spain. He ensured this help by promising Frederick s lands to them. Wedgwood explains that this could be considered unconstitutional according to the Peace of Augsburg. Ferdinand signed this document declaring that German liberties would be observed in 1555. This means that each country can have its own religion if it s Catholic or Lutheran and that they are the Electors for the empire. Cortes responded, We have come to your house in Mexico as friends. There is nothing to fear. Nevertheless, Cortes kept Montezuma under guard. Instead of resisting, Montezuma did everything he could to please the Spanish, ordering his servants to supply everything that Cortes requested. Montezuma s weakness to the Spanish angered many of his followers, who began to lose respect for their king. Cortes and his men were amazed by the splendor of the Aztec capital. The Spaniards greed would then lead them to carry out unprovoked attacks on Aztec temples and military leaders. Cortes then had Montezuma instruct his angry people not to retaliate, declaring that the Spanish were too powerful and could not be resisted. However, this angered the Aztecs even more, both at the Spanish and Montezuma. As advanced as the Aztecs were, they were no match for the Spanish forces. The Spanish ... • 18. A Dying Love In Thomas Hardy s Neutral Tones A Dying Love in Thomas Hardy s Neutral Tones Love is a strange emotion and can make a person feel ten feet high or a low as a snail. When most people write about love it is full of life and color; however, Thomas Hardy writes of death in his experience with love in his poem, Neutral Tones. It is a dramatic monologue poem written in the 1800s and is in first person. The title of the poem clearly points out the neutrality of a colorless failing love. In addition, the poem focuses on describing the events of how the couple ends the relationship and of how it is beyond repair. The lines of the poem gently explain what it is like for the author to experience such a dying love. It is effectively written in a way that the reader can feel the hurt and pain as Hardy explains the sorrow and bitterness as the lovers end the relationship. In Neutral Tones, Thomas Hardy uses setting, imagery, and symbolism to illustrate the deathof love in his poem. The poem begins with the author setting the scene standing with his lover in the winter season. In the first line of the poem Hardy says, We stood by a pond that winter day (1). This is an important clue to prepare the reader that the poem is going to be about Hardy s relationship. Hardy goes on to say in the third and fourth line, And a few leaves lay on the starving sod; / They had fallen from an ash, and were gray (3 4). In these lines, Hardy uses the words starving, ash and fallen leaves. These are dramatic words used to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Music speaks to the mind, body and soul and many singers take advantage of this influence to express their views on sex and relationships. Song lyrics often have implicit meanings and literary references. One song in particular called Stimulated, by the rapper Tyga; real name Michael Ray Nguyen Stevenson portrays the physical aspect of a sexual relationship. In his song Stimulated, Tyga sings about having sex with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner before she turns eighteen. The lyrics include They say she young, I should ve waited/She a big girl, dawg, when she stimulated. These lyrics imply a coarse, vulgar, sparsely disguised metaphor for having sex. The hidden message in these lyrics is that if the underage girl is stimulated, then it is okay to have intercourse with her. Furthermore, Tyga is violating the age of consentopenly while at the same time indirectly admitting statutory rape. These lyrics are clearly encouraging the sexual battery of statutory rape and blurring the age of consent for sex. I believe the government should be a balance of the hands off approach and the government that utilizes it s power. I believe that a government that does not use it s power is wrong because it would slow down humanity and leave the country s citizens vulnerable. Without a strong government, advances in science and medicine would slow down completely (Figurative language, hyperbole). NASA would cease to exist and many government backed science programs would be lost. This would mean a considerable loss in human advancement. A representative democracy is one that is currently in place across Australia and, for the most part, the rest of the world whereby a group of representatives deliberate without unequal distributions to power on behalf of the nations citizens by denoting their beliefs, attitudes and perspectives. Recent and ongoing concerns regarding the self interested, bureaucratic nature of government has lead to increased interest in a more classical deliberative form of democracyparticularly at the idea of public participation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The argument being that representative democracy allows for politically educated and aware elected representatives, who have the resources and expertise, to make informed decisions. This views the decision to allow the general public who may lack political awareness or inclination to make rational, well considered judgments, incredibly detrimental as average citizens may not consider long term solutions or may marginalise individuals and minorities. Begging other questions in regards to whether elected officials should utilise their skill and knowledge to lead the public through more informed decision that may be better for the greater good of the community by acting independently or operate merely as relay mechanisms for the views of their constituents (Australian Politics 2010). Some advocates of representative democracy acknowledge its limitations, but argue that deliberative democracy is simple unfeasible in modern conditions. A direct government with high levels of participation may be possible amongst relatively small communities, because personal communication can take place between and amongst its citizens, however it is impractical and ineefgctive when it comes to larger nations or states. These beliefs offer a comprehensive and definitive explanation of the nature of God. James Joyce s Portrait of An Artist as a Young Man is a narration of the transition from childhood to adulthood of the protagonist, Stephen Dedalus, who grows up in a Catholic society and family life in Ireland. Because of the nature of his church s role in his life, Stephen faces internal conflict regarding his own thoughts and beliefs about the nature of God. After many trials and tribulations with his faith life, Stephen realizes that the church s unequivocal teachings and beliefs actually hinder his ability to find answers to metaphysical questions that arise in his life. Stephen s religious struggles display how organized religion impedes an individual s ability to find one s own identity and purpose, subsequently contradicting God s purpose for humanity. In his early childhood, Stephen proactively seeks out his own meaning and identity; however, as he gets older and is exposed to organized religion, his ability to consider his own true meaning is hindered. Before being engulfed by the pressures of religious life, Stephen lives with a youthful optimism and curiosity. He actively tries to find out what the purpose of his life will be. Zootopia is a mammal metropolis populated by anthropomorphic mammals where predators and prey species, peacefully coexist and work together. These factors include survival instincts, food supplies, climate and the animal s temperament. Post the Oslo Accords in 1993, multiple countries supported aid for economic and humanitarian development in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Foreign aid was also used to support the initiation of a peace process between the Palestinians and Israelis. There was a hope of an improvement in the economic standing in the region from both the international community and majority of the Palestinian population. However, it is arguable that the economy of the occupied Gaza Stripand West Bankhas in fact plummeted to an even worse condition than before the Oslo Accords. Although there have been positive short term outcomes from the Accords, there have been far more long term and complex consequences. Donor countries, most importantly the United States, were not able to effectively allocate aid in order to reduce the inefficiency of the Palestinian economy. The inability of the United States to provide stable economic and humanitarian development within Palestine is the result of three main issues: Israeli military occupation and blockades, the unintentional implementation of a dependency for aid in occupied Palestine, and political patronage. In September Minamoto Yoritomo, who had recieved Mochihito s call from Miyoshi Yasukiyo, set about raising an army in the Province of Izu, where he had been in exile. There was an irony in the preceeding events, as Taira Kiyomori had himself sown the seeds of the war, so the poetic tale goes. They did have their hands full with other local warriors rising up, men who used the Minamoto name as a pretext for land grabs and the settling of old disputes. In the middle of 1181, Yoritomo made a surprising offer to the Taira that called for the partition of the country between the two families, with Yoritomo taking the eastern half of the country. Despite some favorable murmers from the Court, the Taira dismissed the notion out of hand. Yoritomo s offer is in any event an odd one. He had, after all, been operating quite without concern for Kyoto since the previous summer and was at this point more or less immune to a direct Taira attack. It may well be then, as some scholars have suggested, that Yoritomo was hoping to head off the threat represented by Minamoto (Kiso) Yoshinaka. Also known as Kiso Yoshinaka (from the area of Shinano he hailed from), this rough and tumble warrior was to prove an immediate threat to the Taira and to Yoritomo s claims of Minamoto leadership.
