For my scene analysis, I will be talking about the scenes in Martin Scorsese s film, Goodfellas
that take place inside the nightclub. The film portrays the true story of mobster Henry Hill
(played by Ray Liotta) who grows up in the mob and works hard to advance himself through the
ranks. He enjoys his life of money and luxury, but is oblivious to the horror that he causes.
During the film, the mobsters spend a lot of their time enjoying themselves at a nightclub they
frequent called the Copacabana . In Goodfellas, the Copacabana is a high class nightclub littered
with mafia gangsters and low key lighting with a red tint and a Hawaiian theme. The scenes were
shot by cinematographer, Michael Ballhaus. Inside the club, the lighting is primarily dark with a
tint of red which appears to be coming from the practicals seen within the shots. This is clearly to

She begins to get evil. Using her meddling as research, she begins to write letters to people she
has encountered to bring justice to them in the evil town. She did this discreetly although; Miss
Strangeworth never wrote in her normal handwriting, or left her name on the paper. This is
what i like to call an efficient evil. This efficient evil is portrayed particularly well in how she
delivered the letters. In particular, Although Miss Strangeworth never gave it any thought, she
had always made a point of delivering her letters secretly; it would, of course, not be wise to let
anyone see her mailing them. In addition to this, consequently she timed her walk so she could
reach the post office just as the darkness was starting to dim the outline of trees, and the shapes
of people s faces. this gave her efficient cover to keep suspicion away from her getting the blame
from the horrid letters. That is until the reaping and sowing came into effect when her meddling
got her distracted in a conversation that led to her dropping a letter. This letter got delivered and
brought a large sum of rage upon the old
