My Experience In High School
Before graduating elementary and jumping into middle school my homeroom adviser always
advises us to try and enter the school program in this particular high school. The thing is to enter
the program you need to take an entrance exam and get at least 85% on it. The first week of
May 2012 my mom and I went to my elementary school to collect my transcripts that I needed to
enroll for grade 7. At that moment and for the last time I saw my grade 6 teachers. Upon getting
my transcripts I can hear my grade six teachers asking my mom if I will take the entrance exam.
Two weeks later after getting my transcripts, my mother and I went to the high school. The school

During the course of this module I became familiar with a plethora of interfaces including
WordPress, ImgFlip, Giphy, Instagram, and Buzzfeed. With each interface, I had to adapt my own
knowledge and understanding to find success within it. Interfaces are rather diverse. These are the
programs in which people navigate through in the digital world. WordPress is an interface people
can utilize to develop a website revolving around their own interests and ideas. This all gets a little
more complicated when we throw Interface Literacy into the mix. Interface Literacy is the ability to
take any previous understanding and know how you may have to successfully develop that amongst
a multitude of other mediums.
During the class, we had to take what we learned about certain genres and interfaces and created
blog posts on WordPress to discuss those ideas. This was my first experience on this site.
Truthfully, I was intimidated by this interface. It took me about twenty minutes to figure out how

Around this time last year, my 2016 s New Year s resolution was nothing more than a thought
rattling around in my brain. I never felt further from my goal of paying off the debt that lingered

Today, I find myself once again struggling with an entirely different New Year s resolution. I made
it my mission in 2017 to polish off a few of the projects that had dragged on over the last few years.
I have real passionsthat I have always considered priorities, but have never received the attention
they require. With this in mind, I know that if I wantto see myself achieve these goals I must get
serious and eliminate potential distractions. Therefore, when I was asked to select three words
that reflect the spirit of that goal, I chose the words travel, education, and focus. Of the three
words, perhaps the one that resounds with me most is travel. I ve always believed that if you
travel, you should focus on places that will help you become the person that you want to be and
you should do it with people that you care about most. Of course, while I certainly did not expect

good teacher will utilize every student to make sure that everyone understands the objective and is
learning properly.
Strengths and Weaknesses: One of my strengths as a teacher is being able to get along well with
the students. In none of my classes did I have a class where I did not vibe well with one of the
students. I always try my best to get every student to participate. When I see a student struggling
with the lesson I utilize other students to explain to them what is going on. My weakness
would most likely be my pacing. On multiple occasions I failed to finish my entire lesson plan, and
on some occasions, I finished my lesson plan too fast. I would like to be able to better pace my
lesson plans so that I don t feel as rushed to finish, or anxious I will finish early.
Teaching Approaches: I find the direct method to be the best method in teaching English. In the
Direct Method, language is taught inductively and the target language is used exclusively. (ITTO,
Page 119) For teaching grammar, I believe teaching inductively cements the grammar structure into
the student s minds. It uses the students own thinking ability to figure out the grammar structure of
a sentence. This allows students to better understand what they are being taught. It also makes it
easier for students to better use the grammar when they are making their
