Essay Description Of A Person
Crafting an essay on the topic of describing a person might initially seem like a straightforward
task, but as one delves into the intricacies of capturing the essence of an individual through
words, the complexity becomes apparent. The challenge lies not just in presenting a mere
physical description but in conveying the personality, emotions, and unique traits that define the
person. The writer is tasked with navigating the delicate balance between providing concrete
details and painting a vivid, evocative picture that resonates with the reader.
To embark on this journey, one must delve deep into observational skills, keenly observing
nuances in behavior, speech patterns, and body language. It involves not just narrating facts but
infusing the narrative with an emotional depth that allows the reader to connect with the person
being described. The challenge intensifies when attempting to articulate intangible qualities such
as charisma, resilience, or kindness, requiring a mastery of language to encapsulate abstract
concepts.
Furthermore, the responsibility lies in avoiding clichГ©s and stereotypes, steering clear of generic
descriptors that fail to capture the individuality of the subject. The writer must strive to be
original, employing a language that is both vivid and authentic. The selection of words becomes
a meticulous process, as each adjective and adverb carries the weight of shaping the reader's
perception of the person described.
Moreover, organizing the essay poses its own set of challenges. Deciding on the structure,
whether chronological, thematic, or character-based, requires a thoughtful approach to ensure a
seamless flow of information. Striking the right balance between chronological accuracy and
thematic coherence demands strategic planning and a discerning eye for detail.
In conclusion, while the task of writing an essay on the description of a person may seem
deceptively simple, it unfolds as a nuanced endeavor that demands a fusion of creativity, keen
observation, and linguistic finesse. Successfully encapsulating the essence of an individual goes
beyond surface-level details, requiring the writer to dig deep into their observational and
expressive capabilities.

The Court Case Of Powell Vs. Alabama During The 1930s
Supreme Court Case
The United States attention was captivated on the Supreme Court Case of Powell vs
Alabama during the 1930s. During the time period, this case revealed the brutal
treatment towards African Americans more than any other event. The case began on
March 25, 1931, when a group of young white and African American youths were
traveling on a train to find a job. A physical encounter broke out between them and
the white youths were thrown out of the train. Then they reported the incident to a
stationmaster, who stopped the train. The police arrived to gather the nine African
Americans and brought them to jail. Nine young African Americans were recognized
as the Scottsboro boys . They were accused of rape of two white women on that train.
The white jury convicted eight of them, all except one, the youngest at 12 years old,
and were sentenced to death. These youths were falsely charged with raping two
white women in Alabama. Although there was no evidence that linked the African
Americans to the white women, they were still charged with sexual assault. The two
women fearing prosecution for their sexual relationship with the white men agreed to
testify against the black youths. The Supreme Court Case of Powell vs Alabama is
crucial in both Civil Rights history and in the evolution of the Constitution.
This landmark ruling in the Scottsboro case, Powell v. Alabamawas named after one
of the nine defendants. This was the case that drove the Constitution to

Youyang Pty Ltd v Minter Ellison Morris Fletcher (2003) 212 CLR 484 Gleeson
CJ, McHugh, Gummow, Kirby and Hayne JJ MATERIAL FACTS: The appellant
company (Youyang) was trustee of a discretionary trust formed in 1974 for the
Hayward family. Minter Ellison Morris Fletcher s (Minters) had been acting for
EC Consolidated Capital Limited (ECCCL) since July 1991, all work in
connection with the drafting of the documents relating to the subscription for
preference shares in ECCCL was dealt with by Minters. As part of the subscription

entitled to release a section of the fund from the trust account to ECCCL for the
purchase of a bearer deposit certificate to be issued by Dresdner International
Financial Markets (Australia) Ltd (DAL), which could then be traded on the
money market. When the certificate was obtained Minters then had the right to
release the remainder of the funds to ECCCL based on the subscription agreement.
On the 24th of September 1993 a letter was sent by DAL addressed to ECCCL in
confirmation of the payment of $256,800 from Minters trust account for the term of
10 years with repayment of US $500,000 at maturity representing $256,800

Verizon SWOT Analysis This paper is to decide whether to invest in a company. The
company I have chosen is Verizon Communication. I will conduct a SWOT analysis
define the elements of the SWOT analysis, and identify the most relevant parts of the
analysis. I will then identify Verizon s stakeholders, both internal and external and
describe the stakeholders needs and wants. Finally I will discuss how Verizon is
fulfilling the stakeholders wants and needs.

Strengths According to the FCC Verizon Communications is the largest carrier in the
US (FCC, 2011, p.8). Verizon also has the largest 4GLTE (Long Term... Show more

The two companies are locked in a market share grudge match. This almost dead
heat competition can leave the door for the smaller competitors like T Mobile and
Sprint to come in with small possible innovation to unseat Verizon. Also government
regulations and rulings have impacted Verizon s growth. Earlier this year the FCC
rejected Verizon s merger with T Mobile (Kirby, 2012).
Relevant Issues The areas that are the most relevant to the decision to invest would
be Verizon s growing 4GLTE network and their limited international reach. The
4GLTE network shows that Verizon is committed to future growth. International
markets are huge opportunities for expansion and while a large risk, can be a big
section for Verizon.
Verizon Stakeholders Verizon Communications stakeholders fall into two categories,
internal and external. Verizon internal stakeholders are their employees. Verizon s
external stakeholders are customers and investors.
Internal Wants and Needs Verizon s employees wants and needs are a high priority
for the company. Verizon asked an independent research firm to poll people from a
wide range of Verizon s organization. The results were very good. According to
Verizon s website (2012) About 4 in 10 consider Verizon s CR programs to be
excellent; 8 in 10 consider them to be excellent or good.

The Voice And Perception Of Women Essay
The voice and perception of women have been every changing since the moment
that God breathed life into Eve s lungs while still in the Garden of Eden. Though
she is not the first woman to ever be written about, there are many that consider her
to be the first woman to walk on earth. She was made from Adam s rib and designed
to be an extension of him. Eve was to be his companion as he was to be her lord. She
is the example that women are supposed to model themselves after, her mistake of
eating the forbidden fruit notwithstanding. For centuries, in most literature women
have either a limited or nonexistence voice. An idea that the modern womancould not
fathom, since her voice now strong, loud, and demanding. It would be easy to take
for granted the mountains and valleys her voice had to travel in order to be what it
is now. Part of this journey is found in the way women were viewed in Mary
Wollstonecraft s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman
, John Ruskin s Of Queen s
Garden, and Virginia Woolf s A Room of One s Own.
Like Eve, other women found on the pages with some exception were only meant to
aid and support her male counterparts within the story, just as women were meant to
do in real life. Much was not expected of women, other than to be the dutiful daughter
and then wife. This was a fact that Romantic female writer, Mary Wollstonecraft took
issue with in her essay A Vindication of the Rights of Woman:
Contending for the rights of woman, my main argument is built on
Analysis Of Taming Of The Shrew
Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare, the indication of a woman being the
possession of her husband, and having to do everything that he proposes her to do
is presented. Katherine has to acquire appropriate manners toward a man in advance
before her sister Bianca can wed. Bianca wishes to marry one of her suitors
/bachelors, but she can t due to tradition because the older sister has to marry first.
In 10 Things I Hate About You
, a analogous argument, the notion of a girl requiring
appropriate behavior is exemplified. There are many resemblances and
dissimilarities in characters of both, for instance, Katherine and Kat, the two main
focuses, both come from families with a decent quantity of prosperity, as seen from
the housing in both aspects, as in the play, she lives in type of a Roman Villa, and in
the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, they live in a quiet, large community. An
additional likeness remains that Petruchio is compensated to get married to
Katherine, however in the up to date version; Patrick is also compensated to go out
with Katherine. In the end, Patrick and Petruchio have tamed Katherine because she
is now willing to marry/date.
The plots are very parallel. The straightforward plots of Taming of the Shrew and 10
Things I Hate About You both involve various men wanting to be with Bianca, but
Bianca has a mean, older sister named Katherine who no one wants to be with. In
both of the stories, the father of these two girls stresses that Bianca not get
Cardiff City Stadium And Wales
Introduction
Cardiff city stadium is a football stadium in area called leckwith in Wales, Cardiff
also it belongs for the football team and Wales national football team. Cardiff city
stadium is the second biggest stadium in Wales and that s after they added the Ninian

money on the stadium to extend it because when Cardiff city football club moved up

The fresh rooftop cantilevers in total 42.5 m, but only the 10.5m back span and
about 19m of the cantilever can be erected during the football season. This share of
the roof was erected in modules containing a rafter, the backup mast, the 14m long
back stay and the linking inner forestay. The top of the mast is 12m overhead the
new rooftop level and 37m overhead ground level. It is formed with 457mm diameter
CHS sections, while the linking forestays and backstays are all 406mm diameter CHS
sections.
Directly after the last home match of the season, the current roof and columns were
removed which then allowed the front share of the new roof, along with the
connecting 34m long front forestay, to be erected.

I think Vincent Tan, Malaysian co owner of Cardiff City FC did good thing to set a
plan, extending the capacity of the stadium and by upgrading the training facilities to
premier league standards and spending ВЈ12 m to upgrade the stadium capacity. The

My Experience At A Children s Camp
The past few days of observation are based upon my final week as a coordinator for
a children s camp. Including my interactions with people as our programs are
winding down and the unexpected realities of what was going on outside of the
camp. In this week I experienced; upward social comparison, availability heuristic,
mortality salience and social cognition.
Upward social comparison I participated in a panel discussing the benefits of
advanced placement classes. In my discussion of my personal experiences, I
talked about comparing myself to my more intelligent classmates. In high school I
felt like I was not as mart as my classmates. I discussed how it made me work
harder, I wanted to be at what I perceived was a higher level. The example in the
book mentioned studies of people using upward social comparison to motivate
themselves to success (pg. 86). As mentioned by the text upwards social
comparison can be a positive tool for motivation. The textbook also spoke about
the dangers of comparing yourself with others if a person does not believe they
can reach what they are aspiring to be. I recognize what the danger in upward
social comparison could be, it would be hard to process failure if you lived your
entire life comparing yourself to others. I do not know if I thought I could reach what
I was comparing myself to, but I believe I benefited from the push. Eventually, I no
longer relied the comparison.
Availability Heuristic In my closing duties, I evaluated
Pollution In Oceans
Right now there is way too much pollution in the oceans. Fish population is going
down, coral reefs are dying and the oceans are becoming unswimmable. Too much
trash is being dumped into the oceans. 8 million pounds of trash is dumped into the
ocean each year. Pollution in the oceans also affects the fishpopulation. Since the
1960 s the fish population has decreased by 75% because of pollution.Sea creatures
are mistaking the trash for food and eating plastic There are many sea creatures that
are endangered. Like blue whales, sea turtles, sea lions and many more. There are
also a number of coral reefs dying that our a big role in our ocenas. To save these

very much for his wife and son.
Juana is Kino s wife and believes in her spirituality and that it would save her son.
Coyotito is Kino and Juana s son who got stung by a scorpion one morning.
Minor characters (one sentence description of each)
Juan Thomas is Kino s older brother and deeply loyal and supportive towards his
family.
Apolonia is Juan Thomas s wife and the mother of four children and is sympathetic to
Kino and Juana s situation, just like how Juan Thomas is.
The doctor is arrogant and greedy and at first refuses to treat Coyotito.
The dealers are corrupt and cheat the pearl divers who sell them their goods, including
Kino.
The trackers are violent men who follow Kino, Juana, and Coyotito out of the village
in hopes of stealing the pearl.

Jesus is the truth.
Jesus indicates that God s Word (logos, also Jesus Himself) is the Truth. Remember
He said this earlier in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and
the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. God is I am. This is the
inception of existence. In God it is the purity of all things, untainted. It is the Truth,
God is the Truth, Jesus is the Truth, the Holy Spiritis the Truth.
Jesus sanctified Himself.
This is where we get Jesus did what man could not. It is what He came here for, to
undo the grip sin had on mankind (Read Genesis 3 to see the full consequences of
sin). Maybe that seemed a little too colloquial for you. Let s look at it this way.
The fall of man brought sin into the world. Since then, man has been trying to
reconcile himself (this is why we all have an inward nature of understanding there
is a difference between right and wrong). God then set up The Law : a list of rules
that need to be met entirely, completely, and infinitely. It outlined what man must do
to reconcile himself. God even set apart an entire nation, cleansed them from all
defilement, gave them the skinny on how to live holy and without blemish, and they
could not accomplish it. This is why Jesus came. This is why God came. (depending
on your current theology, you may or may not agree that I just repeated the same
sentence) How did Jesus sanctify Himself? He fulfilled The

The Flood Stories In Thomas C. Foster s book, How to Read Literature Like a
Professor, Foster discusses that in every piece of literature, there is no originality.
Each literary work is connected in one way or another to a different literary work,
making one story . Having striking similarities, but being written 2000 years apart,
the floodstories of Utnapishtim in The Epic of Gilgameshand Noah in the Bible back
up what Foster says. Gilgamesh in an old epic about a man named Gilgamesh and
his quest for immortality, while Noah is a not quite so old story of when Godflooded

Ea told Utnapishtim to build a boat, Of seven stories each with nine chambers
(Gilgamesh 10). The boat was also to be cube shaped and able to hold food, wine,
minerals, his family, and the seed of living animals (Gilgamesh 10). Similarly, God
instructed Noah to build an ark of cypress with rooms. It has to be three hundred
cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high (Genesis 6:15). The ark also
contained upper, middle, and lower decks, and a door on the side. Both had been
told how the boat should be built by a divine figure, but God s instructions to Noah
were different than those given to Utnapishtim. After the flood waters had ceased,
both Utnapishtim and Noah sent out a series of bird to check if it was safe to
come out of their large boats and then were rewarded for their obedience.
Utnapishtim sent out a dove, swallow and raven, with whom each found land, and
Noah sent out a raven and a dove, which was sent out twice. When both men exited
their ships, their God/gods rewarded them greatly, but with different things. Enlil,
the war god blessed Utnapishtim and his family by saying, You and your wife
shall be like gods. You shall live in the distance at the river s mouth, at the source
(Gilgamesh 10). For Noah, God promised him, Everything that lives and moves

Paragraph On Chameleons
chameleon
Chameleon or chamaeleons (family Chamaeleonidae) are a distinctive and highly
specialized clade of old world lizards with 202 species described as of June 2015.
These species come in a range of colors, and many species have the ability to change
colors.
All chameleons are found in the Old World, but most live in Madagascar and
Africa. The rest are found in the Middle East, a few on islands in the Indian Ocean,
and one, the Indian chameleon, in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Another, the
common chameleon, is native to Spain, Portugal, the islands in the Mediterranean
Sea, and the Near East.

Chameleons are solitary and extremely territorial, rejecting even the company of
other chameleons.
Most lizards have five toes, but the chameleon s five toes are modified into groups:
on the forefoot, the two outside toes are joined to form one group, and the three
inside toes form another; the hind foot has the opposite arrangement. This allows
them to grasp branches just like our thumbs and fingers can grasp objects.

Chameleons also use their long tail when moving in the trees to grab a branch and
secure their position. The chameleon s tail cannot be broken off and regrown like
those of many other lizards.
Chameleons have the most distinctive eyes of any reptile. The upper and lower
eyelids are joined, with only a pinhole large enough for the pupil to see through.
Each eye can pivot and focus independently, allowing the chameleon to observe two
different objects simultaneously. This gives them a full 360 degree arc of vision
around their bodies.

The Influence of Mass Media on the Way Political...
The Influence of Mass Media on the Way Political Campaigns are Run
On the Monday when the United States Supreme Court issued its ruling on
whether the deadline for certifying votes could be extended in Florida, there was an
unsettling sight on TV. News correspondents came flying out of the court and
stood, out of breath, before the cameras. Without having read the six page ruling,
reporters began to talk to millions of people about what the court had done. Some
reporters got it flat wrong, saying the high court s ruling was in favor of George W.
Bush and a defeat for Al Gore. News wire services and several Web sitesalso
incorrectly summarized the court s action. It was only later that the news media
corrected itself by reporting that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since most of the media are either free or lowly paid like the news, PR and general
programs, candidates feel they are not presented correctly. IN an effort to bring up
their status among their voters or potential voters, they need impressive ads on
television or extensive campaigns on radio airtime. Therefore in view of their
situation mass media is the best option (Lawrence 213). In this context the need to
evaluate the effects of media, its analysis of the psychological validity as well as
financial implication it has on the overall election result is important. For this
purpose the researcher has posit the following hypothesis for discussion.
HYPOTHESIS STATEMENT
The mass media (political cartoons, print, TV) influences the way political
campaigns are run. Moreover, I believe the effect is more greatly felt in the earlier
stages of campaigns, up to about 2 4 weeks before the election.
DISCUSSION
The following is a detailed investigation why mass media influence the way
candidates run their political campaigns.
Evolution of mass media in political campaigns
The evolution of media as a way to inform voters has been age old. In the olden days
when Abe Lincoln was fighting for his own camping it was the newspaper and the
caricatures that attracted the voters most. His street speeches as well as personal
relationship with his people of that time brought about public
Family Themes In Huckleberry Finn
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Theme: Family Mark Twain s The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a classical novel that contains numerous themes
and ideas. Alongside the themes of freedom, race, rules, religion, and deceit lies
the most important theme throughout the entire story; family. Throughout the
novel, Huckleberry Finn battles with whether or not family supports and builds
you up or if it orders you around and tears down your ambitions. One quote that
perfectly describes this concept was spoken by Aishwarya Rai Bachan who stated
that, my family is my strength and my weakness. (Bachan 1). Family is a theme
that constantly emerges in Huckleberry Finn, one that is constantly getting re
defined: from the Shepherdson and Grangerford feud, to Huck living with Miss
Watson and Widow Douglas, to Huck discovering a father figure in Jim. The
Shepherdson and Grangerford feud altered Huck s perspective about the definition
of family. Huck s first interaction with the Grangerfords gives him the impression
that Widow Douglas assessment of the Col. and his family were correct. The
Grangerfords were kind, caring, wealthy and well respected. They are very
hospitable towards Huck. Despite owning hundreds of slaves and servants the
Grangerfords are practically a perfect family, especially for this time period.
However, when Buck talks about the feud it changes his perspective. Well, says
Buck, a feud is this way: A man has a quarrel with another man, and kills him; then

Medical identity theft is described as the unlawful use of someone else s personal
information to get medical services or to make fake claims for medical services
(Mancilla and Moczygemba, n.d.). Medical identity theft can be divided into three
categories. One category type is using personal information and using the health
coverage of an insured person. The second category consists of a medical facility
worker mistreating privacy privileges to get a patient s health insurance information,
and then sell the health policy information or use it to submit false bills to the
insurance company.
Statistics emphasize the extent of the problem. In 2006, The Federal Trade
Commission completed a survey and found that 2.5 percent of the adult population in
the United States reported being victims of medical identity theft. The survey also
discovered the rate at which medical identity theft happens with individuals who are
family. As what happened during my internship, family theft is the third category of
identity theft. Family related theft accounts for 40 percent of all victim responses,
making it one of the most common type of theft (Hansen 9). The occurrence of
family related medical identity theft give to the most usually stated reason victims
decide not to report an incident: the victim realized that he or she knew the thief and
did not want to report him or her. Rhonda Spence confirms by saying Medical identity
Five Kingdoms In The 15th Century
During the 15th century, there were five kingdoms in the Iberian Peninsula, but
eventually became two by the early 16th century. Since the 12th century, Portugal
had been an independent kingdom; the turning point in the kingdom was in the 15th
century when Isabella of Castile tied the knot with Ferdinand of Aragon and
resulted in uniting Castile and Aragon. Isabella and Ferdinand s first target was
Granada; the only Islamic state left from the once powerful Al Andalus. This step
was a necessary for consolidating their power and for religious uniformity. By 1492,
Granada was under their control; their objective was to have a kingdom with only
Christians. They gave the Jews four months to accept Christianity and if they did not

Informative Essay On Pitbulls
When you think of dog attacks what is the first breed you think about? If I were to
take a guess I would say that it is probably a pit bull. The media is not bad but it is
hooked on only sharing the most negative and most popular topics and exploiting
them and has guided you to believe that pit bulls are the most dangerous breed of dog.
It is true that the pit bullis bred to be a very powerful dog, so that makes it easy for the
media to target this dog to add attention to the pit bull. Pit bulls are just a type of
breed and like all the other dog breeds they are bred and raised to do what they are
needed to do. Even though they are seen as the only dog that attacks people and
other dogs, it is not the only dog breedthat has attacked people there is a lot of good
history not known about the pit bull. I will be writing about pit bulls, the issues, the

These results show the percentage of each breed that has passed the test. The tests
consist of many random actions that would occur on a normal day like: feeding,
taking away food, opening an umbrella, coming near another dog, petting, playing
with toys, loud noises and for some cases children. Pit bulls are one of the best
dogs you could have for a pet. The American Temperament Testing Association
proved that the native temperament of a pit bull is better than the common pet dog
breeds such as the Golden Retriever, Labrador, even the poodle does not compare to
the pit bull. With the ATTA the pit bull had a 86 percent passing rate. The National
Canine Temperament Testing Association tested 122 breeds, and pit bulls placed the
4th highest with a 95% passing rate. This means that as a pet, a pit bull can be nicer

Tutankhamun Continuity
Tutankhamun is one of the most famous and instantly recognisable Pharaohs of the
modern world even though he lived and reigned over 3,000 years ago. The boy King
was born in the 11th year of his father s reign in 1345 BCE and died in 1327 BCE at
the age of just 17 or 18 after only being in power for 8 years. Until archaeologist
Howard Carter discovered his almost fully intact tomb in the Valley of the Kings in
1922 CE, the pharaohwas almost unheard of due to the common belief that he was a

Amenhotep IV commenced his reign in 1353 BCE and was of the 18th Dynasty of
Egypt. When Amenhotep IV came to power, the priests of Amun had been gradually
growing in power and were almost equal with the royal house in terms of wealth and
influence. During the 5th year of his reign he outlawed the ancient religion which
was centered on the worship and offerings to many Gods in particular those of the
composite deity Ra Amun Horus (Ra daytime sun, Amun underworld sun, Horus the
sunrise). He then changed his name to Akhenaten, proclaiming himself to be the
living incarnation of the all powerful, single deity known as Aten (The visible
sun). Traditionally, as described in the Coffin Texts of the Middle kingdom, the
Aten was the name for the sun disk and in the Story of Sinuhe , Amenemhat I is
described to have soared into the sky, uniting with the Aten, his creator. The early
stages of Atenism was as a henotheistic religion (devotion to a single god but
recognising the existence of others), but quickly developed into a monotheistic
system where the worship of all other Gods was banned, including the making and
worship of idols, allowing only the rayed sun disk to be displayed as a
representation of God , for the Aten was the sole deity. Ordinary people could not
worship the Aten

4Results and Discussion
Air conditioning systems equipped with compound pressure and temperature gauges
have been studied experimentally using exergy analysis. The units were charged
with R 22 and R 600a refrigerants respectively and allowed to reach the optimum
operating state. The fan is varied between high, medium and low speeds and the
system performance was analyzed in each case. The compressor work, refrigerating
effect, coefficient of performance, exergy destruction rate and exergy efficiency were
calculated using Microsoft Excel sheet.

As this happens, the air flow makes maximum utilization of the effect of the
evaporator coils, getting cooler as the air flows over the coils.
The refrigerant accumulated in the evaporator coils soon absorbs its latent heat of
vaporization and may not be able to absorb anymore. This causes a rise in the
temperature of the delivery air. The air rises to about 21в„ѓ. The thermostat sensed
this rise in temperature and actuates the compressor. The vapour compression cycle,
however, resumes its normal operation. This stop in the compressor operation
conserves the amount of energy used up by the system while also cooling the space
more. The behavior of the compressor had the same pattern while operating at high
fan speeds and medium fan speeds. As the time increases, the compressor work
increases linearly for both the high, medium and low speeds as shown in figure 3.
However, the compressor work is the same for both high and medium speeds. The
system using R 600a refrigerant exhibited a different behaviour when the fan speed
was altered. At high fan speed, the temperature of the delivery air was 23В°C while
it was 20В°C at low fan speeds. This was similar to the change in temperature
experienced in the R 22 system. However, there was no stop in the operation of the
compressor.

Wenger Leadership Qualities
ArsГЁne Wenger was born on 22 October 1949. He is best known as and currently
is the manager of British football team Arsenal, which plays in the Barclays
English Premier League. A very impressive thing about the great Wenger is that in
the modern scene of football, where managers are regularly changed or sacked, he
has managed to stay at the top of the Arsenal football club since 1996. Compared to
most other clubs where their mangers stay in control for a short period of time.
Wenger has maintained in the top managerial position for 17 years; which is a
clear illustration of not only to the longevity of his leadership, his loyalty to the
club but also to Arsenal s loyalty to its staff. Leaders are mainly highly intelligent
in their field or mostly former players. As wenger is a great former player, he isn t a

Computerized Mobile Suburban Railway Ticket Tickets
Abstract Today s biggest challenge in current ticketing system is QUEUE in
booking railway tickets. In this fast growing world of technology we still stand in
the queue or buy with CVM coupons or smart cards for our suburban tickets, which
is more frustrating at times to stand in the queue or if we forget our cards. This
paperless Mobile Suburban Railway (MSR) ticketing is mainly to buy the suburban
tickets which is the most challenging when compared to booking the long journey
tickets through `M ticket which fails with suburban(local travel) tickets. Our MSR
ticket can be bought with just a smart phone application, where you can carry your
suburban railway tickets in your smart phone as a QR (Quick Response) ticket. The
ticket will have distinct color scheme everyday and it cannot be forwarded to another
mobile. Our MSR tickets system is one of the best opportunities for those who cannot
afford enough time to get their tickets standing in long queues.

Dental Implants Research Paper
Smoking and dental implants do not go hand in hand. In fact, individuals who
smoke and choose to obtain a dental implant find they are at higher risk of infection
following oral surgery and the oral surgery recovery time increases. These are only
two things a smoker must be aware of when it comes to choosing the appropriate
option for replacing a missing or failing tooth. However, individuals should not be
surprised by this, as smoking has been shown to have numerous negative health
effects. Why do dental professionals feel it is so important to share information
regarding the risks associated with dental implantsand smoking?
First and foremost, smoking can lead to a person being declared a poor candidate for

A Comparison of Beloved and Don Quixote Essay
On reading Beloved by Toni Morrison and Don Quixote by Kathy Acker, there
seem to be quite a few similarities in themes and characters contained in these texts,
the most prevalent of which seems to be of love and language as a path to freedom.
We see in Acker s Don Quixote the abortion she must have before she embarks on a
quest for true freedom, which is to love. Similarly, in Morrison s Beloved, there is a
kind abortion, the killing of Beloved by Sethe, which results in and from the freedom
that real love provides. And in both texts, the characters are looking for answers and
solutions in these word shapes called language.
In Acker s Don Quixote, the abortion with which the novel opens is a precondition
for surrendering the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Morrison s Beloved, Sethe has two abortions. The first and most obvious is the
act of infanticide in killing Beloved. The second abortion is Sethe getting fucked by
the grave digger. This abortion, like Acker s protagonist, creates a name. The name
is Beloved a word shape representing true love, or freedom.
For Sethe, to love also becomes a testament of freedom. For having been owned by
others (like Acker s patriarchy) meant that her claim to love was not her own. She
could not love her children, love em proper in Kentucky because they wasn t [hers]
to love (Beloved 162). Paul D understands that to get a place where you could love
anything you choose ... well now that was freedom (Beloved 162), but he is also
bound to his slave mentality to overcome his fear. He considers Sethe s
unconditional love risky : For a used to be slave woman to love anything that much
was dangerous, especially if it was her children she had settled on to love (Beloved
45). The far safer way was to love just a little bit, so when they broke its back, or
shoved it in a croaker sack, well, maybe you d have a little love left over for the
next one (Beloved 45). It is this compromised love that even Baby Suggs accepted
despite her magnificent sermon in the Clearing on loving one s self knowing that
her slave master would take her children away. And it is this weak love that Paul D
tells Sethe she must accept (a patriarchal love, as Acker
Public Opinion On The Topic Of Climate Change Remains
Divided
Public opinion on the topic of climate change remains divided despite over two
decades worth of research and a strong consensus in the scientific community
(Deryugina and Shurchkov, 2016). In an experimental survey, the authors tested
whether providing the public with information based on scientific agreement on the
occurrence and causes of climate changewould affect the respondent s beliefs. They
found that not only did the public significantly underestimate the extent of the
scientific consensus, the survey also indicated that those who were given concrete
information about scientist s views were more likely to report believing that climate
change was already happening and that it was caused by humans. Moreover, the

1). There are several natural causes which will dictate which direction and by what
amount the temperature changes. Some of these changes are more permanent, most
are temporary. One natural cause of climate change is solar irradiance, a
measurement of solar power received from the sun and measured at the Earth.
Studies have shown that changes in solar irradiance have contributed to climate
trends in the past. According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA), an example of this is the Little Ice Age, which was a period of regionally
cold conditions between 1650 to 1850, that is thought to have been possibly
triggered by a decrease in solar output from the sun. Be that as it may, NASA also
states that since 1750, the average amount of energy coming from the sun has either
remained constant or increased only slightly, therefore changes in solar irradiance
cannot explain current global warming data (2017, Solar irradiance section).
Likewise, volcanism, another example of a natural cause of climate change, is also
regarded by some scientists as being the origin of the Little Ice Age. During
volcanic eruptions, tiny particles called aerosols are emitted into the atmosphere.
Once in the atmosphere, aerosols reflect solar radiation back into space which cools
the planet. In his article, Causes of Climate Change Over the Past 1000 Years ,
Crowley (2000) explains that between 1400 to 1850, volcanic contribution indicated

Analysis Of The Croatian Market In Croatia
In order for a U.S. Company to enter the Croatian market it is important to have a
thorough and deep understanding of the intricacies of the market. In order to acquire
this knowledge extensive research and investigation has been conducted. Below I
have included a general overview/ analysis of the Croatian Market which facilitates
market entry planning and projects. Market Overview Croatia is a developing
country situated in Southeastern Europe it has a relatively small yet complex market
which plays a very vital role when it comes to political and economic stability in the
Balkan region. Croatian population consists of a small 4,170.60 million people

A social mindset prevails in various parts of Croatian society. It is important to keep
in mind that Croatia has recently recovered from the Homeland war just twenty two
short years ago. The country has made tremendous strides towards reconstruction
and recovery within the last decade. Some major setbacks the country deals with
today are that the majority of Croatian income comes from government funding,
social insurance, or public monopolies. Not from the revenues of truly competitive
companies. Therefore, any reforms that are introduced that are in opposition to or
address corruption, public overspending, or judicial inefficacy usually faces strong
opposition from privileged majority on top. On a more optimistic note Croatia has a
growing force of entrepreneurs who have innovative and vibrant ideas which are
changing the way business in conducted in many industries in Croatia. These
entrepreneurs and their businesses follow strong EU regulations and rules which
make them perfect potential partners for American companies looking to expand in
the region. Market Challenges Croatia s developing Economy is still after its gained
independence in 1991. A number of internal problems plague Croatia s development.
These include Judiciary inefficiencies infested with case back logs and a lack of
expertise in commercial affairs, and a complex non transparent bureaucracy.
Corruption is also a major issue that people battle with when conducting business
Uniform Commercial Code Pros And Cons
The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) is a collection of laws that cover many
different problems that might come about in commercial transactions. These could
include sales, contracts, leases, letters of credit, bank collections and secured
transactions. The hopes in creating the UCC was that each state would adapt to it so
that there would be uniformity among commercial law. The UCC was created in the
fall of 1951, Pennsylvania the first state to enact its laws adopted the codes in 1953.
Once the revisions were made then Massachusetts and Kentucky adopted it. Today
every state except Louisiana and District of Columbia have adopted the codes. In
2003 amendments were proposed however they were never put into action. The UCC

The Shawshank Redemption Is An American Drama Film...
The Shawshank redemption is an American drama film written and directed by
Frank Darabont in the year 1994, starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The
film s screenplay has been adapted from the Stephen King Novella Rita Hayworth
and Shawshank redemption and talks about the life of a man named Andy Dufresne,
a banker who is sentenced to life imprisonment in the Shawshank State prison for
murder of his wife and her lover, even despite his claims of innocence.
While the main genre of the film is drama, it fits into the sub genres of a crime and
drama thriller due to its complex narrative. The narrative is based on prison life and
how Andy Dufrense who is the protagonist, copes with this life imprisonment.
Shawshank redemption places its emphasis on the action taking place rather than the
psychological meaning, which only adds to the reasoning of why thriller is the main
sub genre. The movie stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freemanas two convicts
serving time in a New England prison named Shawshank. The setting of the film is
mainly of the Shawshank prison, which is an external location and is focused on
the day to day activities of the prisoners. Tim Robbins plays the role of a man
named Andy Dufresne who is the main protagonist, while Morgan Freeman plays
the role of Ellis Boyd Redding or simply Red. Supporting characters are played by
James Whitmore who is Brooks Hatlen, the librarian and one of the oldest convicts in
the prison, Bob Gunton as Warden Samuel Norton who is

Roman Pantheon Research Paper
Ancient Architectural Prodigies of the Greeks and Romans Initial observations of the
Roman Pantheon from the front appear to be similar to the ruins of the Greek
Parthenon, but really both structures are somewhat unique in their composition,
purpose, design, and fate. Constructed over half of a millennium after the Parthenon
was built, the Pantheon, built in 27 B.C., exhibits some of the architectural styles and
characteristics of its predecessor. However, the Romans refined Greek building
techniques, thereby developing a unique and more advanced architectural style.
Although their names resemble each other, the Pantheon and the Parthenon possess
contrasting translations of their names. The Parthenon was built as a temple for
worshipping a single deity, Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom. Parthenos is a
Greek word that means virgin and the Greeks considered Athena to be a virgin
goddess (Beard 44). On the contrary, the Pantheon was initially used as a temple for
worshipping multiple Roman deities. Pantheon is translated from the Greek word
pan, meaning all, and theon, which means building of the gods (Tuck 219).... Show

resting on a gigantic concrete drum, which together could contain a sphere of the

If possible, wet the end first to cool it off. When you put the cigarette into the ashtray,
make sure that it is completely in and stable so it won t fall out and onto something
that could catch on fire.
Don t overload outlets. If you can, unplug anything that you re not using to help clear
some outlet space. If you do have to have electronics plugged in, distribute them
instead of putting them all into one outlet.
Expert Insight * Run out of the house immediately if there is a fire. Don t run
around trying to grab valuables or other items, and absolutely don t run back in to get
anything. Get to your neighbors house to call 911.
Have multiple escape routes out of your home. If you don t plan one and there is an
emergency, you may get disoriented on where you should go. Having multiple plans
set up could help you to get out alive.
Stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch on fire. Running will only make the situation
worse.
Misconceptions
* Many people think that a fire won t ever happen to them, especially in their own

The Anterior Cruciate Ligament
Preface:
As a formerly competitive snowboarder with two previous ACL injuries that
occurred while snowboarding, I am personally interested in the higher rate of ACL
injuries among women, and how current research can relate to women s
snowboarding. While at the 2015 ACSM NW conference in Bend, Oregon, I
attended a talk given by Christine Pollard. I was extremely interested in her research
about the prevalence of knee valgus activity in female landing tasks, and the force it
creates on the ACL. As a snowboarder of 12 years, and an instructor for 5, I have
repeatedly seen knee valgus in many of the females I have coached at all levels of
snowboarding. The vast majority of my female snowboarding cohorts have had at
least one ACL ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Arendt et all, 1999)
A 6 year study collected data from 1432 snowboard athletes, identified as elite by
their participation in world cup competitions. The study found an injury rate of
40%, with 17.8% of those injuries knee related (Major et all, 2013). That is, a knee
injury occurs in 7.12% of advanced snowboarders. For perspective, the table above
shows knee injury rates in soccer, none of which come close to 7 percent.
Snowboarding is a relatively new sport, and very few large scale studies have
occurred relating to knee injury rates, especially among elite female athletes.
However ACL injury rates are higher for females, and higher for elite snowboarders,
so it is logical to assume that there is an increased risk for elite female snowboarders.
Kinematics:
There have been many studies done to explain the higher rate of ACL injury in
female athletes. The most convincing findings relate to knee kinematics and
neuromuscular control. In a study of 20 subjects (10 male and 10 female) forces
from jump tasks were recorded using 3 D videography and force plates. One
conclusion from the study was that force on the ACL was greatest during the landing
phase of a jump tasks. Females frequently showed more leg extension and valgus
movements during the landing phase, which also puts more stress on the ACL
(Chappel et all, 2002). A similar study found that internal rotation combined with
valgus movement creates
Explain How A Sound Source In Space Will Stimulate Two
Ears
A sound source in space will stimulate both ears. Experiments with headphones have
suggested that the side on which a source is heard depends on timing and intensity
differences at the two ears. A sound source on one side will stimulate the nearest ear
first, because the sound path to that ear is shorter. This cue is particularly important
for low frequency sounds, because with low frequency sounds, the phase differences
at the two ears produced by the difference in path length are unambiguous. The
intensity at the nearest earwill also be greater, because the farther ear is shadowed by
the head. Localization depending only on these binaural cues lead to potential
ambiguities, because they do not give information on the elevation of a soundsource,
or whether the source is in front of or behind the head. Information on these is
contributed by the pinna, which for high frequency sounds produces further shadows
and reflections. The cues from the pinna also mean that some localization is possible
when using only one ear.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the model of Jeffress, this is detected by the input from one ear being compared
with multiple time shifted versions of the input from the other ear. The time shift that
produces the maximum degree of similarity indicates the direction of the sound
source in the horizontal plane. In the formulation of Jeffress, the time shifts are
produced by axons of different lengths. The output neurons detect coincidence in the
time shifted inputs from the two

Lineage-Based Perspective
With there being more than 50,000 species of vertebrates alone it is essential for
all biology majors to have a working knowledge of the tree of life. The two
perspectives for teaching zoology are the Linnean taxonomical and the Phylogenetic
clade based perspective. The Linnean taxonomical perspective is a rank based
hierarchy while the phylogenetic clade based perspective groups speciesby focusing a
common ancestor and its descendants. In regards to teaching zoology there is more
value in using the phylogenetic clade based perspective rather than the Linnean
perspective because it allows students to organize the details of biodiversitywith a
more rational system.
Phylogenetic taxonomy focuses on common ancestry and derived functional ... Show

For example; Coleoptera contains over three hundred thousand species while Primate
contains roughly four hundred species including the human (Ballen, Cissy J., and
Harry W. Greene).
This lack of criteria is what causes the exclusion of taxonomic acknowledgment of
major evolutionary innovations while inaccurately portraying history. It is also
mentioned in Greene s more recent journal that the Linnean method fails at
specifying clades based upon the origin of limbs in tetrapods and shelled egg
amniotes. While it also, obscures the fact that crocodilians are more closely related
to birds than they are to turtles, lizards, and snakes, which does not highlight many
dramatic similarities between earlier archosaurs (Ballen, Cissy J., and Harry W.
Greene). These two main concerns of omission and obscuration are why the
phylogenetic clade based system is a far more valuable and beneficial methodology
for teaching zoology.
As it was mentioned previously, the phylogenetic clade based perspective only
recognizes monophyletic taxa, which are those taxa derived from a common ancestor
not shared with any other group. There is another argument being made that
paraphyletic groups should not be included as units of study within a zoology course.
Paraphyletic and monophyletic units of study both have their benefits and drawbacks
however I believe that
Inaccuracies In The Movie 42
The movie 42 is all about Jackie Robinson and his experience playing in the major
leagues. Robinson started on first base for the Dodgers, being the first team to
play a black player in the since the 1880 s. Jackie Robinson and the Dodgers broke
down a lot of barriers for African Americans in the MLB. In the movie it shows his
struggles that he went through during the season. There were some changes in the
film from what actually happened in real life, but its Hollywood what do you
expect. One error I did find in the film was when Robinson was hit in the head with
a pitch thrown by Fritz Ostermueller. The pitch really did hit him, but not in the
head. The pitch actually hit him on the elbow. Although the pitch could very well
have hit him in the face though, if he didn t raise his arm to protect himself. Fritz
was ordered to take Robinson out, and he sure did try. Overall Robinson ended up
getting hit nine times in his rookie season. Another inaccuracy I found was when
Jackie was smashing his bat in the tunnel behind the Dodgers dugout. That scene
never actually happened in real life, but the racial slurs from Phillies manager Ben

Human Digestive System
Human Digestive System
Single celled organisms can directly take in nutrients from their outside environment.
Multi cellular animals, with most of their cells removed from contact directly with
the outside environment, have developed specialized structures for obtaining and
breaking down their food. The human digestive system is a complex series of organs
and glands that processes food. It is a coiled, muscular tube (6 9 meters long when
fully extended) extending from the mouth to the anus. Inside this tube is a lining
called the mucosa. In the mouth, stomach, and small intestine, the mucosa contains
tiny glands that produce juices to help digest food. This tube also includes the
pharynx, esophagus, large intestine, and anus. ... Show more content on

At the junction of the esophagus and stomach, there is a ring like valve closing the
passage between the two organs. However, as the food approaches the closed ring,
the surrounding muscles relax and allow the food to pass. We can also swallow the
food upside down because the muscles around the esophagus are strong enough to
push the food up to our stomach.
The food then enters the stomach, a sack that receives the food from the
esophagus. The stomach is located just below the heart. It has three mechanical
tasks to do. First, the stomach stores the swallowed food and liquid. This requires
the muscle of the upper part of the stomach to relax and accept large volumes of
swallowed material. The second job is to mix up the food, liquid, and digestive juice
(acids and enzymes that help to break the food down into a thick liquid or paste
called chyme) produced by the stomach. The lower part of the stomach mixes these
materials by its muscle action. The third task of the stomach is to empty its contents
slowly into the small intestine. Food usually remains in the stomach for about two
hours.
After leaving the stomach the food enters the small intestine. The small intestine is a
20 to 25 foot tube that is coiled up in the abdomen. The center of the small intestine is
right behind our belly button. The most important part of digestion takes place in the
small intestine. As the thick liquid food paste travels
United States Involvement For Terrorism And Spreading...
In 2003 the USA attacked Iraq. Washington s official account of the reasons to
invade Iraq was centred on the argument that Iraq is a threat to its neighbours as
well as to the USA. This was due to Iraq supposedly having WMDs and seeking for
nuclear weapons and Saddam being unpredictable and irrational actor. Furthermore,
it was argued that Saddam supports terrorists and could give WMDs to them. It
was USA s mission to bring democracy and freedom to the Iraqi people (Hudson,
2005: 298 299). Some scholars support the official account as the real reason for the
invasion, but there are many critical scholars. Some of them advance the theory that
behind the attack was the urge to protect Israel or the effect that pro Israeli voices

In the same speech he promised the continuation of war on terror (Bush, 2002). It
was stressed by Condoleezza Rice, who was the Assistant to the President for
National Security Affairs, that Iraq was unwilling to cooperate with the UN
inspectors and that Iraq was lying about its assumed WMDs (Rice, 2002). Bush,
Rice and other members of the administration made clear that Iraq was dangerous
because of its WMDs and therefore Iraq should be invaded. It was also stated in the
Joint Resolution that authorised the war that Iraq had WMDs, seeked nuclear
weapons and was a threat to the USA (H.R.J. Res. 114, 2002).
However, if WMDs and noncooperation with UN inspectors made Iraq such a huge
threat, it has to be asked why Egypt and Israel, for example, were not attacked. For
example, Israel has not ratified the Nonproliferation Treaty or the 1972 biological and
toxic weapons convention and Egypt has not signed the Chemical Weapons
Convention (Hubbel, 1998). Moreover, in general, it is not only Saddam Hussein
who has murdered thousands and defied UN resolutions. The USA, however, is not
seriously planning to attack those other states (Mearsheimer and Walt, 2003).
David Dunn argues that this is, when it comes to North Korea, because the
administration believes that North Korea is militarily strong enough to deter the
USA, but Iraq is not and Iraq has to be stopped before it is, too. (Dunn, 2003: 286)

Effect Of Potential Energy On Roller Coasters
I.Science Fair Question
How does height (rise) and the loop radius influence the conversion of potential
energy to kinetic energy using a model roller coaster track?
II.Background Research
Did you ever wonder how a roller coaster works? Why does one roller coaster go
faster than another at certain points on the ride? This paper will discuss how
potential energy turns into kinetic energy at different points along the track of a roller
coaster. The important terms that will be discussed are potential energy (stored
energy), kinetic energy (energy of motion), gravitational potential energy (GPE), and
conservation of energy (basic law of physics).
Potential energy (PE) is the energy possessed by a body as a result of its position or

It is the absence of change in the amount a physical quantity, such as mass, during a
physical or chemical transformation (The American Heritage Student Science

Conservation of energy stays the same, the value doesn t change. Some types of
energy include kinetic, potential, gravitational potential, and heat. They can change
into different systems, but the value won t change as long as it has conservation of
energy. Conservation of energy itself and conservation of mechanical energy are two
types of energy. Conservation of mechanical energy is easier to understand and
calculate, but it only happens when everything is conserved (What is Conservation of
Examples Of Embezzlement

belonging to an employer. Embezzlement is also considered a white collar crime in
which it also includes theft and misusing of anyone funds, Embezzlement occurs
when a person entrusts their property to another person, but the person who in
possession unlawfully takes ownership with the intent to defraud the original owner.

Informative Speech On Chromium
As seen on the right, Chromium is an element one may assume that it is nothing

mostly made of the element Chromium! With that said, that is not the only purpose
chromium serves. It may be used to harden steel, manufacture stainless steel, or form

The Influence Of The English Language
French is the eleventh most widely spoken language in the world. It is the official
language of 33 countries in the world and it is spoken in two of the G7 countries.
200 million people around the world understand, speak, read or write French and
the language is the mother tongue of 75 million people. French is the official
language of postal services across the world and is one of the official languages of
the International Red Cross. The French speaking Africa represents an area larger
than the USA. French is the most widely taught second language after English and
over 20,000 English words have their origins in French. In terms of number of words,
French is the second largest language after English. In the humanities and the social
sciences many of the most important writings have come from France.
Students and researchers who know French have access to these works for several
years before they are translated into English. Many significant works are never
translated and remain accessible only to those who know the language.
Historically France and the French language have had an enormous influence over
American society. France was the United States first ally. French thought played a
dominant role among the founders of the United States in the 18th century, and it
continues to shape America today through the influence of such intellectual currents
as post structuralism and post modernism. In the humanities and the social sciences,
many of the most important writings have
Essay About My New Years
That New Years was the most rough, fun, exciting and painful New Years I have
experienced in my 14 years of life. The people who were present were Lorrissa, her
older sister Leena, Megan E. , Jadynn and of course me. We were spending that
New Year s at Lorrissas hoping for a fun night. That night was mostly fun but at
times it was... dramatic to say the least. I arrived after Jadynn but before Megan, we
decided we would wait until Megan got here to start doing the interesting things.
When Megan did get there we got on our snow gear and tied a light green long sledto
the black four wheeler. Lorrissa drove us around first, it was also my first time doing
that so as anyone would expect I would have fell off multifarious times but still

After a while Lorrissa, Megan and I went up to her room and sat around and talked
until around three in the morning. None of us talked after that we just laughed at the
silence of the room, none of us could help it. Nothing was funny about the situation
except for Lorrissas laugh that would come up after maybe 2 minutes of silence.
When we woke up Megan left around eight in the morning and Jadynn came back
and we went out for more sledding. The worst part was when it was just Leena and I,
we were on the side of the road and there was a mailbox coming up. I did not hear
Lorrissa holler back at Leena and I to duck down, but Leena did. I ended up smashing
the back of my head into the mailbox, I was in too much of a shock to cry. I had
known that I hit my head but I didn t really feel the discomfort of the strike.
After that we went inside and Lorrissa retrieved a bag of frozen peas to aid the
aching of the back of my head. Later Jadynn got picked up while Harlyn, Leena,
Reana, Lorrissa and I headed to Xtreme Air. We bounced and trampled around for an
hour and headed back to Lorrissas. I was later picked up by my dad and brought back

Southern United States Culture
Southern United States Culture The Southern United States is a very interesting
place, full of culture and history, such as the Civil War battlefields or the antique
shops that you see along the side of the road as you drive through this beautiful
part of the United States. It has many different characteristics and many different
special things that make it unique. Globalization and Identity, Ethnicity, Religion,
The Social Construction of Race, Gender Roles, Class, Places and Spaces
(Regional Identity) , and Linguistic Diversity in the south are all topics that I will
discuss in this essay. While globalization and identity in the south is not as evident
as it would be in a city such as New York, it is still a major part of southern culture.
There are many different things that the southern region and the states within it do
that benefit the global community. One of the most major things is our exports.
The south has two trademark exports that greatly benefit the global market. The
first is Tobacco. The south is the worlds largest tobacco provider, and you still see
it growing in the fields in the country, not in a laboratory or factory. The second
major export of the south is Cotton. Cotton is used to make clothes, blankets, and
many other things that are sewn or made in mills ( Cotton in the South Boundless

you usually find them in small towns, where they have been for years and
The Church Of Columbus By Alice Lavern Riles
Pastored in 1952 by Alice Lavern Riles, known as Mother Sheppard, The Church of
Columbus remains today within the city of Columbus, Georgia. From a tiny building
on 49th Street, to the over a million dollar facility today, The Church of Columbus
has gone through its share of change. Growing up, the church was called the First
United Pentecostal Church, but once the church moved locations, Pastor renamed it
The Church of Columbus. Located on 2001 Double Churches Road, there lies my
second home, with its grand 36,000 square feet structure. Growing up, I was always
at the church, whether it was for practice, or just to play sports such as volleyball and
football with my lifelong friends that I had made throughout my attendance at the
church. According the church s website, the church has grown from a Sunday
morning attendance of sixty one in 1985, to a consistent attendance of over 400 in
2013 (The Church of Columbus). The church s motto is Loving all to Christ . The
motto refers to the church s ultimate goal of reaching the 290,000 souls of the
Columbus, Phenix City, Fort Benningarea (The Church of Columbus). A church
member, Lisa Gail Stringer Johnson described the church; The first thing you feel
when you walk through the doors is an outpouring of Love and God s presence. I am
extremely grateful that I have such a tremendous place to call my second home.
Filled with different shades of blue, red, and cream, the church was particularly

Ancient Christian Worship By Andrew B. Mcgowan
Zoryana Nichipor Christianity Western Culture Box #390 Word Count: Book
Review of Ancient Christian Worship: Early Christian Practices in Social,
Historical, and Theological Perspective Throughout this book, Andrew B.
McGowan thoroughly informs us on each cultural background and formation of
the different types of acts of worship throughout the early Christian church. We see
through this information that the way the Church worships has evolved into
something completely different from what it once was. In one form or another we
are forced to appreciate how the early Christians worshipped and, I would even
assert, are challenged to bring these traditions into our own mentality of worship.
If we are to look to the New Testament and how worship is referred to, it is a great
deal about ethos or a Christian way of life, but relatively little about the specifics of
distinctive liturgical practice or performance. In chapter one of McGowan s book,
we see a compare and contrast given with how the early church worshiped more
communally as opposed to how we worship today; which is more aesthetic and
internal. McGowan reiterates numerously that worship in the New Testament is a
subject of service, reverence and ethics. They were not merely one sacramental part
of a community or worship life but the central act around or within which others
reading and preaching, prayer and prophecy were arranged. The New Testament was
in the setting of a very communal culture. And

is a washwoman for white people in the South. Delia is a washerwoman fighting to
keep her house and her sanity ( Sweat ). She takes great pride in her job even when
her husband insists on her stopping. In the short story her husband demands her to

symbol in which Delia is most terrified of, the snake. On a Sunday, as she washes,
she is confronted by something that reminds her of the snake, which scares her. It is
actually her husband s whip (Jones). In this part of the novel, Sykes places the whip
on Delia s shoulder to affirm his dominance. A great terror took hold of her. It
softened her knees and dried her mouth so that it was a full minute before she could
cry out or move (Hurston 1). This shows the effects of the whip on Delia and how
powerless she

Essay Description Of A Person. Writing a descriptive essay person

  • 1. Essay Description Of A Person Crafting an essay on the topic of describing a person might initially seem like a straightforward task, but as one delves into the intricacies of capturing the essence of an individual through words, the complexity becomes apparent. The challenge lies not just in presenting a mere physical description but in conveying the personality, emotions, and unique traits that define the person. The writer is tasked with navigating the delicate balance between providing concrete details and painting a vivid, evocative picture that resonates with the reader. To embark on this journey, one must delve deep into observational skills, keenly observing nuances in behavior, speech patterns, and body language. It involves not just narrating facts but infusing the narrative with an emotional depth that allows the reader to connect with the person being described. The challenge intensifies when attempting to articulate intangible qualities such as charisma, resilience, or kindness, requiring a mastery of language to encapsulate abstract concepts. Furthermore, the responsibility lies in avoiding clichГ©s and stereotypes, steering clear of generic descriptors that fail to capture the individuality of the subject. The writer must strive to be original, employing a language that is both vivid and authentic. The selection of words becomes a meticulous process, as each adjective and adverb carries the weight of shaping the reader's perception of the person described. Moreover, organizing the essay poses its own set of challenges. Deciding on the structure, whether chronological, thematic, or character-based, requires a thoughtful approach to ensure a seamless flow of information. Striking the right balance between chronological accuracy and thematic coherence demands strategic planning and a discerning eye for detail. In conclusion, while the task of writing an essay on the description of a person may seem deceptively simple, it unfolds as a nuanced endeavor that demands a fusion of creativity, keen observation, and linguistic finesse. Successfully encapsulating the essence of an individual goes beyond surface-level details, requiring the writer to dig deep into their observational and expressive capabilities. For those seeking assistance in navigating the intricacies of essay writing, a valuable resource is available at HelpWriting.net, where similar essays and a plethora of writing services can be accessed to make the writing process more manageable. • 2. The Court Case Of Powell Vs. Alabama During The 1930s Supreme Court Case The United States attention was captivated on the Supreme Court Case of Powell vs Alabama during the 1930s. During the time period, this case revealed the brutal treatment towards African Americans more than any other event. The case began on March 25, 1931, when a group of young white and African American youths were traveling on a train to find a job. A physical encounter broke out between them and the white youths were thrown out of the train. Then they reported the incident to a stationmaster, who stopped the train. The police arrived to gather the nine African Americans and brought them to jail. Nine young African Americans were recognized as the Scottsboro boys . They were accused of rape of two white women on that train. The white jury convicted eight of them, all except one, the youngest at 12 years old, and were sentenced to death. These youths were falsely charged with raping two white women in Alabama. Although there was no evidence that linked the African Americans to the white women, they were still charged with sexual assault. The two women fearing prosecution for their sexual relationship with the white men agreed to testify against the black youths. The Supreme Court Case of Powell vs Alabama is crucial in both Civil Rights history and in the evolution of the Constitution. This landmark ruling in the Scottsboro case, Powell v. Alabamawas named after one of the nine defendants. This was the case that drove the Constitution to

Minters was entitled to release a section of the fund from the trust account to ECCCL for the purchase of a bearer deposit certificate to be issued by Dresdner International Financial Markets (Australia) Ltd (DAL), which could then be traded on the money market. When the certificate was obtained Minters then had the right to release the remainder of the funds to ECCCL based on the subscription agreement. On the 24th of September 1993 a letter was sent by DAL addressed to ECCCL in confirmation of the payment of $256,800 from Minters trust account for the term of 10 years with repayment of US $500,000 at maturity representing $256,800 principal and interest of AUD 243,200. This letter was a sign of acknowledgement of indebtedness by DAL to ECCL rather than a bearer certificate, which was required. It provided Youyang with no security against insolvency of ECCCL. Minters paid ECCCL the
  • 4. Verizon Swot Analysis Essay Verizon SWOT Analysis Matt Ashcraft MGT/521 December 2, 2012 Ron Schwendiman Verizon SWOT Analysis This paper is to decide whether to invest in a company. The company I have chosen is Verizon Communication. I will conduct a SWOT analysis define the elements of the SWOT analysis, and identify the most relevant parts of the analysis. I will then identify Verizon s stakeholders, both internal and external and describe the stakeholders needs and wants. Finally I will discuss how Verizon is fulfilling the stakeholders wants and needs. SWOT Analysis [pic] Strengths According to the FCC Verizon Communications is the largest carrier in the US (FCC, 2011, p.8). Verizon also has the largest 4GLTE (Long Term... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two companies are locked in a market share grudge match. This almost dead heat competition can leave the door for the smaller competitors like T Mobile and Sprint to come in with small possible innovation to unseat Verizon. Also government regulations and rulings have impacted Verizon s growth. Earlier this year the FCC rejected Verizon s merger with T Mobile (Kirby, 2012). Relevant Issues The areas that are the most relevant to the decision to invest would be Verizon s growing 4GLTE network and their limited international reach. The 4GLTE network shows that Verizon is committed to future growth. International markets are huge opportunities for expansion and while a large risk, can be a big section for Verizon. Verizon Stakeholders Verizon Communications stakeholders fall into two categories, internal and external. Verizon internal stakeholders are their employees. Verizon s external stakeholders are customers and investors. Internal Wants and Needs Verizon s employees wants and needs are a high priority for the company. Verizon asked an independent research firm to poll people from a wide range of Verizon s organization. The results were very good. According to Verizon s website (2012) About 4 in 10 consider Verizon s CR programs to be excellent; 8 in 10 consider them to be excellent or good. External Wants and Needs Customer satisfaction is
  • 5. The Voice And Perception Of Women Essay The voice and perception of women have been every changing since the moment that God breathed life into Eve s lungs while still in the Garden of Eden. Though she is not the first woman to ever be written about, there are many that consider her to be the first woman to walk on earth. She was made from Adam s rib and designed to be an extension of him. Eve was to be his companion as he was to be her lord. She is the example that women are supposed to model themselves after, her mistake of eating the forbidden fruit notwithstanding. For centuries, in most literature women have either a limited or nonexistence voice. An idea that the modern womancould not fathom, since her voice now strong, loud, and demanding. It would be easy to take for granted the mountains and valleys her voice had to travel in order to be what it is now. Part of this journey is found in the way women were viewed in Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman , John Ruskin s Of Queen s Garden, and Virginia Woolf s A Room of One s Own. Like Eve, other women found on the pages with some exception were only meant to aid and support her male counterparts within the story, just as women were meant to do in real life. Much was not expected of women, other than to be the dutiful daughter and then wife. This was a fact that Romantic female writer, Mary Wollstonecraft took issue with in her essay A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: Contending for the rights of woman, my main argument is built on
  • 6. Analysis Of Taming Of The Shrew Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare, the indication of a woman being the possession of her husband, and having to do everything that he proposes her to do is presented. Katherine has to acquire appropriate manners toward a man in advance before her sister Bianca can wed. Bianca wishes to marry one of her suitors /bachelors, but she can t due to tradition because the older sister has to marry first. In 10 Things I Hate About You , a analogous argument, the notion of a girl requiring appropriate behavior is exemplified. There are many resemblances and dissimilarities in characters of both, for instance, Katherine and Kat, the two main focuses, both come from families with a decent quantity of prosperity, as seen from the housing in both aspects, as in the play, she lives in type of a Roman Villa, and in the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, they live in a quiet, large community. An additional likeness remains that Petruchio is compensated to get married to Katherine, however in the up to date version; Patrick is also compensated to go out with Katherine. In the end, Patrick and Petruchio have tamed Katherine because she is now willing to marry/date. The plots are very parallel. The straightforward plots of Taming of the Shrew and 10 Things I Hate About You both involve various men wanting to be with Bianca, but Bianca has a mean, older sister named Katherine who no one wants to be with. In both of the stories, the father of these two girls stresses that Bianca not get

Including my interactions with people as our programs are winding down and the unexpected realities of what was going on outside of the camp. In this week I experienced; upward social comparison, availability heuristic, mortality salience and social cognition. Upward social comparison I participated in a panel discussing the benefits of advanced placement classes. In my discussion of my personal experiences, I talked about comparing myself to my more intelligent classmates. In high school I felt like I was not as mart as my classmates. I discussed how it made me work harder, I wanted to be at what I perceived was a higher level. The example in the book mentioned studies of people using upward social comparison to motivate themselves to success (pg. 86). As mentioned by the text upwards social comparison can be a positive tool for motivation. The textbook also spoke about the dangers of comparing yourself with others if a person does not believe they can reach what they are aspiring to be. I recognize what the danger in upward social comparison could be, it would be hard to process failure if you lived your entire life comparing yourself to others. I do not know if I thought I could reach what I was comparing myself to, but I believe I benefited from the push. Eventually, I no longer relied the comparison. Availability Heuristic In my closing duties, I evaluated

This is where we get Jesus did what man could not. It is what He came here for, to undo the grip sin had on mankind (Read Genesis 3 to see the full consequences of sin). Maybe that seemed a little too colloquial for you. Let s look at it this way. The fall of man brought sin into the world. Since then, man has been trying to reconcile himself (this is why we all have an inward nature of understanding there is a difference between right and wrong). God then set up The Law : a list of rules that need to be met entirely, completely, and infinitely. It outlined what man must do to reconcile himself. God even set apart an entire nation, cleansed them from all defilement, gave them the skinny on how to live holy and without blemish, and they could not accomplish it. This is why Jesus came. Similarly, God instructed Noah to build an ark of cypress with rooms. It has to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high (Genesis 6:15). The ark also contained upper, middle, and lower decks, and a door on the side. Family Themes In Huckleberry Finn The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Theme: Family Mark Twain s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a classical novel that contains numerous themes and ideas. Alongside the themes of freedom, race, rules, religion, and deceit lies the most important theme throughout the entire story; family. Throughout the novel, Huckleberry Finn battles with whether or not family supports and builds you up or if it orders you around and tears down your ambitions. One quote that perfectly describes this concept was spoken by Aishwarya Rai Bachan who stated that, my family is my strength and my weakness. (Bachan 1). Family is a theme that constantly emerges in Huckleberry Finn, one that is constantly getting re defined: from the Shepherdson and Grangerford feud, to Huck living with Miss Watson and Widow Douglas, to Huck discovering a father figure in Jim. The Shepherdson and Grangerford feud altered Huck s perspective about the definition of family. Huck s first interaction with the Grangerfords gives him the impression that Widow Douglas assessment of the Col. and his family were correct. The Grangerfords were kind, caring, wealthy and well respected. They are very hospitable towards Huck. Despite owning hundreds of slaves and servants the Grangerfords are practically a perfect family, especially for this time period. However, when Buck talks about the feud it changes his perspective. Medical identity theft is described as the unlawful use of someone else s personal information to get medical services or to make fake claims for medical services (Mancilla and Moczygemba, n.d.). Medical identity theft can be divided into three categories. One category type is using personal information and using the health coverage of an insured person. The second category consists of a medical facility worker mistreating privacy privileges to get a patient s health insurance information, and then sell the health policy information or use it to submit false bills to the insurance company. Statistics emphasize the extent of the problem. In 2006, The Federal Trade Commission completed a survey and found that 2.5 percent of the adult population in the United States reported being victims of medical identity theft. The refrigerant accumulated in the evaporator coils soon absorbs its latent heat of vaporization and may not be able to absorb anymore. This causes a rise in the temperature of the delivery air. The air rises to about 21в„ѓ. The thermostat sensed this rise in temperature and actuates the compressor. The vapour compression cycle, however, resumes its normal operation. This stop in the compressor operation conserves the amount of energy used up by the system while also cooling the space more. The behavior of the compressor had the same pattern while operating at high fan speeds and medium fan speeds. As the time increases, the compressor work increases linearly for both the high, medium and low speeds as shown in figure 3. However, the compressor work is the same for both high and medium speeds. The system using R 600a refrigerant exhibited a different behaviour when the fan speed was altered. At high fan speed, the temperature of the delivery air was 23В°C while it was 20В°C at low fan speeds. This was similar to the change in temperature experienced in the R 22 system. Some of these changes are more permanent, most are temporary. One natural cause of climate change is solar irradiance, a measurement of solar power received from the sun and measured at the Earth. Studies have shown that changes in solar irradiance have contributed to climate trends in the past. According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), an example of this is the Little Ice Age, which was a period of regionally cold conditions between 1650 to 1850, that is thought to have been possibly triggered by a decrease in solar output from the sun. Be that as it may, NASA also states that since 1750, the average amount of energy coming from the sun has either remained constant or increased only slightly, therefore changes in solar irradiance cannot explain current global warming data (2017, Solar irradiance section). Likewise, volcanism, another example of a natural cause of climate change, is also regarded by some scientists as being the origin of the Little Ice Age. During volcanic eruptions, tiny particles called aerosols are emitted into the atmosphere. Once in the atmosphere, aerosols reflect solar radiation back into space which cools the planet. Below I have included a general overview/ analysis of the Croatian Market which facilitates market entry planning and projects. Market Overview Croatia is a developing country situated in Southeastern Europe it has a relatively small yet complex market which plays a very vital role when it comes to political and economic stability in the Balkan region. A social mindset prevails in various parts of Croatian society. It is important to keep in mind that Croatia has recently recovered from the Homeland war just twenty two short years ago. The country has made tremendous strides towards reconstruction and recovery within the last decade. Some major setbacks the country deals with today are that the majority of Croatian income comes from government funding, social insurance, or public monopolies. Not from the revenues of truly competitive companies. Therefore, any reforms that are introduced that are in opposition to or address corruption, public overspending, or judicial inefficacy usually faces strong opposition from privileged majority on top. On a more optimistic note Croatia has a growing force of entrepreneurs who have innovative and vibrant ideas which are changing the way business in conducted in many industries in Croatia. These entrepreneurs and their businesses follow strong EU regulations and rules which make them perfect potential partners for American companies looking to expand in the region. Market Challenges Croatia s developing Economy is still after its gained independence in 1991. A number of internal problems plague Croatia s development. These include Judiciary inefficiencies infested with case back logs and a lack of expertise in commercial affairs, and a complex non transparent bureaucracy. Corruption is also a major issue that people battle with when conducting business

The Shawshank redemption is an American drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont in the year 1994, starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The film s screenplay has been adapted from the Stephen King Novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank redemption and talks about the life of a man named Andy Dufresne, a banker who is sentenced to life imprisonment in the Shawshank State prison for murder of his wife and her lover, even despite his claims of innocence. While the main genre of the film is drama, it fits into the sub genres of a crime and drama thriller due to its complex narrative. The narrative is based on prison life and how Andy Dufrense who is the protagonist, copes with this life imprisonment. Shawshank redemption places its emphasis on the action taking place rather than the psychological meaning, which only adds to the reasoning of why thriller is the main sub genre. The movie stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freemanas two convicts serving time in a New England prison named Shawshank. The setting of the film is mainly of the Shawshank prison, which is an external location and is focused on the day to day activities of the prisoners. Tim Robbins plays the role of a man named Andy Dufresne who is the main protagonist, while Morgan Freeman plays the role of Ellis Boyd Redding or simply Red. Supporting characters are played by James Whitmore who is Brooks Hatlen, the librarian and one of the oldest convicts in the prison, Bob Gunton as Warden Samuel Norton who is

Roman Pantheon Research Paper Ancient Architectural Prodigies of the Greeks and Romans Initial observations of the Roman Pantheon from the front appear to be similar to the ruins of the Greek Parthenon, but really both structures are somewhat unique in their composition, purpose, design, and fate. Constructed over half of a millennium after the Parthenon was built, the Pantheon, built in 27 B.C., exhibits some of the architectural styles and characteristics of its predecessor. However, the Romans refined Greek building techniques, thereby developing a unique and more advanced architectural style. Although their names resemble each other, the Pantheon and the Parthenon possess contrasting translations of their names. The Parthenon was built as a temple for worshipping a single deity, Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom. Parthenos is a Greek word that means virgin and the Greeks considered Athena to be a virgin goddess (Beard 44). On the contrary, the Pantheon was initially used as a temple for worshipping multiple Roman deities. The Anterior Cruciate Ligament Preface: As a formerly competitive snowboarder with two previous ACL injuries that occurred while snowboarding, I am personally interested in the higher rate of ACL injuries among women, and how current research can relate to women s snowboarding. While at the 2015 ACSM NW conference in Bend, Oregon, I attended a talk given by Christine Pollard. I was extremely interested in her research about the prevalence of knee valgus activity in female landing tasks, and the force it creates on the ACL. As a snowboarder of 12 years, and an instructor for 5, I have repeatedly seen knee valgus in many of the females I have coached at all levels of snowboarding. (Arendt et all, 1999) A 6 year study collected data from 1432 snowboard athletes, identified as elite by their participation in world cup competitions. The study found an injury rate of 40%, with 17.8% of those injuries knee related (Major et all, 2013). That is, a knee injury occurs in 7.12% of advanced snowboarders. For perspective, the table above shows knee injury rates in soccer, none of which come close to 7 percent. Snowboarding is a relatively new sport, and very few large scale studies have occurred relating to knee injury rates, especially among elite female athletes. However ACL injury rates are higher for females, and higher for elite snowboarders, so it is logical to assume that there is an increased risk for elite female snowboarders. Kinematics: There have been many studies done to explain the higher rate of ACL injury in female athletes. The most convincing findings relate to knee kinematics and neuromuscular control. In a study of 20 subjects (10 male and 10 female) forces from jump tasks were recorded using 3 D videography and force plates. One conclusion from the study was that force on the ACL was greatest during the landing phase of a jump tasks. Females frequently showed more leg extension and valgus movements during the landing phase, which also puts more stress on the ACL (Chappel et all, 2002). A similar study found that internal rotation combined with valgus movement creates
  • 37. Explain How A Sound Source In Space Will Stimulate Two Ears A sound source in space will stimulate both ears. Experiments with headphones have suggested that the side on which a source is heard depends on timing and intensity differences at the two ears. A sound source on one side will stimulate the nearest ear first, because the sound path to that ear is shorter. This cue is particularly important for low frequency sounds, because with low frequency sounds, the phase differences at the two ears produced by the difference in path length are unambiguous. The intensity at the nearest earwill also be greater, because the farther ear is shadowed by the head. Localization depending only on these binaural cues lead to potential ambiguities, because they do not give information on the elevation of a soundsource, or whether the source is in front of or behind the head. Information on these is contributed by the pinna, which for high frequency sounds produces further shadows and reflections. The cues from the pinna also mean that some localization is possible when using only one ear.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two perspectives for teaching zoology are the Linnean taxonomical and the Phylogenetic clade based perspective. The Linnean taxonomical perspective is a rank based hierarchy while the phylogenetic clade based perspective groups speciesby focusing a common ancestor and its descendants. For example; Coleoptera contains over three hundred thousand species while Primate contains roughly four hundred species including the human (Ballen, Cissy J., and Harry W. Greene). This lack of criteria is what causes the exclusion of taxonomic acknowledgment of major evolutionary innovations while inaccurately portraying history. It is also mentioned in Greene s more recent journal that the Linnean method fails at specifying clades based upon the origin of limbs in tetrapods and shelled egg amniotes. While it also, obscures the fact that crocodilians are more closely related to birds than they are to turtles, lizards, and snakes, which does not highlight many dramatic similarities between earlier archosaurs (Ballen, Cissy J., and Harry W. Greene). These two main concerns of omission and obscuration are why the phylogenetic clade based system is a far more valuable and beneficial methodology for teaching zoology. As it was mentioned previously, the phylogenetic clade based perspective only recognizes monophyletic taxa, which are those taxa derived from a common ancestor not shared with any other group. There is another argument being made that paraphyletic groups should not be included as units of study within a zoology course. Paraphyletic and monophyletic units of study both have their benefits and drawbacks however I believe that

Multi cellular animals, with most of their cells removed from contact directly with the outside environment, have developed specialized structures for obtaining and breaking down their food. The human digestive system is a complex series of organs and glands that processes food. It is a coiled, muscular tube (6 9 meters long when fully extended) extending from the mouth to the anus. Inside this tube is a lining called the mucosa. In the mouth, stomach, and small intestine, the mucosa contains tiny glands that produce juices to help digest food. This tube also includes the pharynx, esophagus, large intestine, and anus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the junction of the esophagus and stomach, there is a ring like valve closing the passage between the two organs. However, as the food approaches the closed ring, the surrounding muscles relax and allow the food to pass. We can also swallow the food upside down because the muscles around the esophagus are strong enough to push the food up to our stomach. The food then enters the stomach, a sack that receives the food from the esophagus. The stomach is located just below the heart. It has three mechanical tasks to do. First, the stomach stores the swallowed food and liquid. This requires the muscle of the upper part of the stomach to relax and accept large volumes of swallowed material. The second job is to mix up the food, liquid, and digestive juice (acids and enzymes that help to break the food down into a thick liquid or paste called chyme) produced by the stomach. The lower part of the stomach mixes these materials by its muscle action. The third task of the stomach is to empty its contents slowly into the small intestine. Food usually remains in the stomach for about two hours. After leaving the stomach the food enters the small intestine. The small intestine is a 20 to 25 foot tube that is coiled up in the abdomen. The center of the small intestine is right behind our belly button. The most important part of digestion takes place in the small intestine. As the thick liquid food paste travels

It was also stated in the Joint Resolution that authorised the war that Iraq had WMDs, seeked nuclear weapons and was a threat to the USA (H.R.J. Res. 114, 2002). Moreover, in general, it is not only Saddam Hussein who has murdered thousands and defied UN resolutions. The people who were present were Lorrissa, her older sister Leena, Megan E. , Jadynn and of course me. We were spending that New Year s at Lorrissas hoping for a fun night. That night was mostly fun but at times it was... dramatic to say the least. I arrived after Jadynn but before Megan, we decided we would wait until Megan got here to start doing the interesting things. When Megan did get there we got on our snow gear and tied a light green long sledto the black four wheeler. Lorrissa drove us around first, it was also my first time doing that so as anyone would expect I would have fell off multifarious times but still Jadynn... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After a while Lorrissa, Megan and I went up to her room and sat around and talked until around three in the morning. None of us talked after that we just laughed at the silence of the room, none of us could help it. Nothing was funny about the situation except for Lorrissas laugh that would come up after maybe 2 minutes of silence. When we woke up Megan left around eight in the morning and Jadynn came back and we went out for more sledding. The worst part was when it was just Leena and I, we were on the side of the road and there was a mailbox coming up. I did not hear Lorrissa holler back at Leena and I to duck down, but Leena did. I ended up smashing the back of my head into the mailbox, I was in too much of a shock to cry. I had known that I hit my head but I didn t really feel the discomfort of the strike. After that we went inside and Lorrissa retrieved a bag of frozen peas to aid the aching of the back of my head. Later Jadynn got picked up while Harlyn, Leena, Reana, Lorrissa and I headed to Xtreme Air. We bounced and trampled around for an hour and headed back to Lorrissas. I was later picked up by my dad and brought back home for the
  • 51. Southern United States Culture Southern United States Culture The Southern United States is a very interesting place, full of culture and history, such as the Civil War battlefields or the antique shops that you see along the side of the road as you drive through this beautiful part of the United States. It has many different characteristics and many different special things that make it unique. Globalization and Identity, Ethnicity, Religion, The Social Construction of Race, Gender Roles, Class, Places and Spaces (Regional Identity) , and Linguistic Diversity in the south are all topics that I will discuss in this essay. While globalization and identity in the south is not as evident as it would be in a city such as New York, it is still a major part of southern culture. There are many different things that the southern region and the states within it do that benefit the global community. One of the most major things is our exports. The south has two trademark exports that greatly benefit the global market. The first is Tobacco. The south is the worlds largest tobacco provider, and you still see it growing in the fields in the country, not in a laboratory or factory. The second major export of the south is Cotton. Cotton is used to make clothes, blankets, and many other things that are sewn or made in mills ( Cotton in the South Boundless Open Textbook ). There are not many cotton mills left in todays advanced society, so you usually find them in small towns, where they have been for years and
  • 52. The Church Of Columbus By Alice Lavern Riles Pastored in 1952 by Alice Lavern Riles, known as Mother Sheppard, The Church of Columbus remains today within the city of Columbus, Georgia. From a tiny building on 49th Street, to the over a million dollar facility today, The Church of Columbus has gone through its share of change. Growing up, the church was called the First United Pentecostal Church, but once the church moved locations, Pastor renamed it The Church of Columbus. Located on 2001 Double Churches Road, there lies my second home, with its grand 36,000 square feet structure. Growing up, I was always at the church, whether it was for practice, or just to play sports such as volleyball and football with my lifelong friends that I had made throughout my attendance at the church. According the church s website, the church has grown from a Sunday morning attendance of sixty one in 1985, to a consistent attendance of over 400 in 2013 (The Church of Columbus). The church s motto is Loving all to Christ . The motto refers to the church s ultimate goal of reaching the 290,000 souls of the Columbus, Phenix City, Fort Benningarea (The Church of Columbus). A church member, Lisa Gail Stringer Johnson described the church; The first thing you feel when you walk through the doors is an outpouring of Love and God s presence. I am extremely grateful that I have such a tremendous place to call my second home. Filled with different shades of blue, red, and cream, the church was particularly constructed with careful
  • 53. Ancient Christian Worship By Andrew B. Mcgowan Zoryana Nichipor Christianity Western Culture Box #390 Word Count: Book Review of Ancient Christian Worship: Early Christian Practices in Social, Historical, and Theological Perspective Throughout this book, Andrew B. McGowan thoroughly informs us on each cultural background and formation of the different types of acts of worship throughout the early Christian church. We see through this information that the way the Church worships has evolved into something completely different from what it once was. In one form or another we are forced to appreciate how the early Christians worshipped and, I would even assert, are challenged to bring these traditions into our own mentality of worship. If we are to look to the New Testament and how worship is referred to, it is a great deal about ethos or a Christian way of life, but relatively little about the specifics of distinctive liturgical practice or performance. In chapter one of McGowan s book, we see a compare and contrast given with how the early church worshiped more communally as opposed to how we worship today; which is more aesthetic and internal. McGowan reiterates numerously that worship in the New Testament is a subject of service, reverence and ethics. They were not merely one sacramental part of a community or worship life but the central act around or within which others reading and preaching, prayer and prophecy were arranged. The New Testament was in the setting of a very communal culture. And

  • 55. Delia Jones Quotes In Sweat Zora Neale Hurston portrays Delia Jones as a hardworking Christian woman who is a washwoman for white people in the South. Delia is a washerwoman fighting to keep her house and her sanity ( Sweat ). She takes great pride in her job even when her husband insists on her stopping. In the short story her husband demands her to quit her job. He calls her a hypocrite for doing the wash of the white after she has just attended church. When Delia is not fazed by his words and continues washing the clothes, he becomes very angry and ruins the clothes she put so much time into. He stepped roughly upon the whitest pile of things, kicking them helter skelter as he crossed the room. His wife gave a little scream of dismay, and quickly gathered them together... On a Sunday, as she washes, she is confronted by something that reminds her of the snake, which scares her. It is actually her husband s whip (Jones). In this part of the novel, Sykes places the whip on Delia s shoulder to affirm his dominance. A great terror took hold of her. It softened her knees and dried her mouth so that it was a full minute before she could cry out or move (Hurston 1). This shows the effects of the whip on Delia and how powerless she
