Five Factor Model Of Personality Analysis
The Five Factor Model of personality
A trait is a temporally stable, cross situational individual difference. Presently, for studying
personality traits there are two important models with five factors, Costa Mc Crae s Five Factor
Model, and Goldberg s Big Five (as sighted in Mc Adams, 1992). In Five Factor Model there are
five traits named as Extraversion, openness, Agreeableness conscientiousness and Neuroticism. The
Big Five model replaces neuroticism with emotional stability , and names the openness factor
intelligence . The Big Five are based upon factor analysis of the entire trait descriptive adjective in
a natural language, as collected from a dictionary. The Big Five are meant to provide a

A Study On Working Capital
Maeghan Gaines 29 November 2014 FINA 150 Semester Project Chapter 14 Executive
Summary: Working Capital I chose to research working capital because I did not know the term
nor the significant role it plays in operating a business. I learned that working capital is the
requirements for running normal business operations on a daily basis. It is the necessary amount
needed to keep the doors open and is analyzed for a period of about a year. Working capital is
essential for fulfilling business operating needs. Cash that is spent is not considered working
capital because it can no longer be used by the company to invest. Working capital is the cash
surplus within the company used to make more money. Implementing an effective working... Show

Also, the level of fixed assets and current assets depends on the expected sales but only the
current assets can be adjusted with fluctuating sales in a diminutive period. Most importantly,
time must be considered when managing fixed assets. Discounting and compounding of time
play a major role in capital budgeting and a minor role in the management of current assets.
Ultimately, a business can survive without appropriate working capital policy, but a firm
without working capital has a much smaller life span than businesses that are well capitalized.
Working Capital Policy Introduction: Working Capital is the single most important component
of a business or firm because it has a direct impact on the cash flows. Working capital is the
capital you require for the working functioning of your business in the short run (BBI). There are
two types of working capital; gross working capital and net working capital. Gross working
capital is current assets. Net working capital is the difference between current assets and current
liabilities. Net working capital will be referred to as simply working capital in this paper.
Operating Cash flows arise from normal business operations and is the difference between cash
expenses associated with the manufacturing and sales of products and the cash collected from the
sales. Since cash flow is the main priority for

What Is The Difference Between Nothing But The Truth And...
In this essay i will be comparing myself and the character of Sipho from the play Nothing but the
truth.2002 in terms of similarities and differences. In terms of similarities Sipho and i have, we
both have difficulties in terms of forgiving and forgetting all the bad experiences we ve had. For
example Sipho was still hurt abut his wire made car that he made hisele when he was young and
his brother had it smashed by a car when he said The last time i saw it ,it was smashed. Themba
was driving it on the street ,a bakery van smashed it flat. I was so angry . (Nothing but the

I will definately go for change. I believe that the only way to live a happy life is to ensure that i
am on the right way of living a good life for example, i cant expect a good life without working
very hard on achieving that. In addition to this evidence mentioned we see that indeed modernity ,
tradition and tention between the past and the present contributed to the current situation or
personality of Sipho and that is mostly what gave birth to our similarities and differences. (Nothing
but the truth, 2002.p14) Even though the character and i have difficulties with accepting and
forgiving it s some how tends to be our difference as we see the character forgive his dead
brotherband accepts reality. This is when he said Themba, my brother i live you. About my wife...it
happened. (Nothing but the truth,2002.p56) Indeed the character of Sipho from the play (Nothing

conclusion, i conclude by saying indeed i have compared myself with the charater of Sipho in

A Report On The s Change Model, Balance Scorecard And...
Executive Summary
This report will address strategy implementations for BBC3. The BBC have suggested to close
BBC3. However from our SWOT (appendix 1) and Porters 5 forces analysis (appendix 2) it was
concluded that they should not do this. Instead the BBC should keep BBC3 and close BBC4.
This report looks at how the change can be implemented using Lewin s Change Model, Balance
Scorecard and effective leadership.
Introduction
According to Hrebiniak (2006), formulating a consistent strategy is a difficult task however
implementing it is even more difficult. Noble, (1999b) suggested that strategy implementation is
often seen as a craft, rather than a science.
According to the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative (2007), there are four reasons ... Show more
content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the analysis it has been concluded that the BBC should keep BBC3 on the TV and instead
remove BBC4.
One reason for this strategy has been suggested is because the BBC have many diversified
products to meet requirement of each customer (BBC, 2014). However, BBC3 is the only
channel that caters to the younger market, 16 34 year olds, therefore by removing this from TV
they would no longer have a channel for this market. It has been found that youth are already
underserved and older audiences are over served (Plunkett, 2014) therefore by removing BBC3
from the TV they would be further underserved. Additionally, there has been a signed petition
against the BBC3 proposal (Change.org 2015) suggesting that its customers do not want it to be
taken off TV. Furthermore 16% of UK households don t have access to internet and by removing
BBC3 from the TV that 16% of the market will not be able to access it.
BBC4 have 2 million less viewers than BBC3 each week (BBC 2015). Additionally, BBC4 has
many repeat shows on the channel and also similar shows to BBC2 therefore by closing BBC4
instead of BBC3 the BBC would lose less customers. Closing BBC4 would involve transferring
longstanding programmes that are shown on BBC4 to BBC 2 as the two channels are already
working closely together (BBC 2015).

Differences Of Edgar Allan Poe, Hawthorne And Washington...
Poe, Hawthorne, and Irving
A light switch is either on or off; in a sports match, a team either wins or loses; water is either hot
or cold; people are wealthy or poor; thin or fat; muggle or wizard, Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. These
are examples of binary opposites. Rational and irrational thinking are binary opposites meaning that
they are concepts that cannot coexist. However, many of the authors that we have read about push
the boundaries of this concept. They force our minds to look at the gray areas instead of just black
and white and to reflect on reality vs fantasy. They bring the unknown, the fears, and the unaccepted
into our world. These authors mix true events with things that they couldn t know so they made
them up. Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Washington Irvingare well known authors of
American Romanticism. They are also all known for pushing these boundaries through their
creative writing styles. The Romantic Movement, as generally agreed by most scholars, focuses on
the individual, the subjective, and the spontaneous (Pennell, 2006, 2). Romantics encouraged
contemplation and self awareness, direct contact with nature, and a focus on and an exploration of
inner feelings.
Edgar Allan Poe born in Boston January 19, 1809. Poe s parents both died before his third
birthday. He was raised by his foster parents John and Frances Allan in Richmond, Virginia. After
Poe enlisted in the Army his first collection of poems was published, followed by his second

Death Of A Salesman Father Son Relationship
Many dramas use family relationships as a primary force of the plot. In Death of a Salesman,
Willy s relationship with his son s allows the author, Arthur Miller, to reveal the conflicts that can
result in a father son relationship. Willy s relationship with his older son, Biff differs in conflict
from his relationship with his younger son, Happy. Both relationships have their flaws and both
relationships have suffered from Willy s inability to teach his son s positive values.
Happy, the younger of the two sons, has taken on many of his father s traits. Although he has a
rather successful job, he feels the need to embellish the truth of his success just as Willy has done
in the past. (quote). Happy has also taken on his father s trait

Disadvantages Of Doing Business In Canada
This report is to analyse the advantages and disadvantages of doing business with Canada. One of
the main disadvantages is that the population is shifting into an overpopulated senior population
and the repercussion of this is the difficulties in pleasing the younger and older generations
simultaneously. Canadais filled with rich recourses beneficial for trade and gives us a competitive
advantage, items such as Oil Sands, Oil and gas, lumber, and water. The public infrastructure in
Canada is still a work in progress, but we strongly excels economically and is estimated that it will

It s the public infrastructure that includes aspects like roads, water, mains, sewers, bridges that
allows people to live out their daily lives and improves Canada s efficiency. The possibility of
having a successful business in Canadian depends on innovative and efficient infrastructure. Ottawa
would be a main example of lack of instruction in a 1st world city consists of one train system; the
O Train (that s just being made) and bus routes that are satisfactory. Ottawa has begun its
renovations for the new transitways but it will possibly take years to complete the final product.
The O train scheduled to finish in 2018, however the city needs a strategy that connects the main
locations using the transitway otherwise the likely hood of it being done on time will be low. Even
though the nation s capital lacks the public infrastructure, there are many other cities in Canada that
has better designed infrastructure for business such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The
future for Ottawa is heading in the direction of attracting international business given the transitway
continues to expand and improve in its services. Highways in Canada is a large transportation in
Canada and states on their website that there are over 38,000 km of national and regional highways
stretching from coast to coast to coast (Transport Canada). This makes the future transportation in

What Was The Evolution Of Rugby
Rugby is a very popular sport in England that is best known to have been born in 1873, when
William Webb Ellis, with fine disregard for the rules of soccer, considering the fact that soccer
rules hadn t even really taken serious yet anyways, was playing soccer at rugby school where he
attended, when he took off with the ball in his hands, thus originating the distinctive feature of the
Rugby Game. This is also the explanation of why the Rugby world is called the William Webb Ellis
Trophy.
However, Rugby originated from various earlier ballgames similar to itself, before it s time .It
developed slowly over time throughout the fifth century of our common era due to the other games

Stoppages for injury or to allow the referee to take disciplinary action do not count as part of the
playing time, so that the elapsed time is usually longer than 80 minutes. The referee is responsible
for keeping time, even when as in many professional tournaments he is assisted by an official
timekeeper. If time expires while the ball is in play, the game continues until the ball is dead , and
only then will the referee blow the whistle to signal half time or full time; but if the referee awards
a penalty or free kick, the game continues.
In the knockout stages of rugby competitions, most notably the Rugby world cup, two extra time
periods of 10 minutes periods are played (with an interval of 5 minutes in between) if the game
is tied after full time. If scores are level after 100 minutes then the rules call for 20 minutes of
sudden death extra time to be played. If the sudden death extra time period results in no scoring
a kicking competition is used to determine the winner. However, no match in the history of the
Rugby World Cup has ever gone past 100 minutes into a sudden death extra time period. This
paper was a paper over the history and everything to do with rugby in Great Britain since it has
started . It talk about the rules, the people that made all the rules and all the people that helped start

Diesel Engines Vs. Modern Technology
Diesel engines, long reputed for being loud and dirty, are making waves in the U.S., says Alex
Davies of Business Insider. With the never ending evolution of modern technology, the diesel
engine has come a long way since its invention in the late 19th century. With new advancements in
technology, the diesel engineis no longer loud and dirty as it was in the past. In fact, with modern
advancements, diesel engines have come to possess many advantages over gasoline engines.
Modern diesel engines boast better attributes than their gasoline counterparts, such as greater
reliability, increased fuel efficiency, and superior performance.
When most people think of a diesel engine, they think of a semi truck or a tractor. People think
of something big and dirty when they hear the word diesel . Diesel engines have long been used
in heavy equipment, things like semi trucks, tractors, locomotives, and the like. But how about in
a car? What a crazy idea, right? Well, although this may seem crazy, it actually makes perfectly
good sense. Diesel engines have many advantages over a gasoline engine. Diesel engines are more
reliable than gasoline motors. Why are diesel engines more reliable? Diesel engines are built
heavier than gasoline engines. A diesel engine is a compression engine, so to handle the
compression experienced by the engine during ignition, the engine must be built heavier than a
typical gasoline engine. Diesel engines tend to last longer than gasoline engines as well.

Why Were The Buffalo Important To Native Americans
Krish Patel
First Level C
Buffalo
Introduction
The American Bison, more commonly known as the Buffalo is a humpbacked wild ox.
Historically, the American bison played an important role in the Great Plains. They graze on
native grasses and actually disturb the soil with their hooves which allows plant and animal
species to flourish. Prairie dogs prefer areas grazed by bison where the grass is short so they can
keep a lookout for hungry predators, and wolves once relied on bison herds as a major food
source. Today, wild bison are beginning to return, mainly in national parks but they still need to
more room to roam as they are still being hunted outside the park s safe borders.
Why Were the Buffalo Important?
The Buffalo were very important to the Native Americans tribes living in the Great Plains
because Buffalo was their main food. They have many uses like: Buffalo bones provided
marrow to eat, Buffalo bones were carved to make knives, and could boiled to make glue,
Buffalo skin could be used to make clothes, moccasins, bedding, saddle covers and water bags,
dried Buffalo dung provided fuel for fires, and even the tail of a Buffalo could be used as a fly
swatter. Then tragedy struck. When the first explorers came to the Great Plains, they killed over
35 million buffalo for either sport or food and the drive the Indians of the Great Plains. That step
reduced the buffalo population to 1,500 but the year of 1912.

The Biomechanics Of A Skiing
For this research assignment, the topic I would like to discuss is the biomechanics of a skiing.
Skiing is one type of sports that has begun to increase in popularity. Athletes are always trying to
discover ways to get stronger, faster, and higher with minimal injuries. Improving our
biomechanics is one important way of improving your athletic performance, and limit injuries.
However, there are many pros and cons within the biomechanics of skiing. I would like to learn
more about leg alignment and form and how these can affect the skier. Abnormalities of the leg
and lower leg alignment are important factors while skiing. To be an efficient skier it requires a
balanced movement. My methods of data collection to analyze my subject s skill movement will
consist of a multi methods approach. This approach includes a mixture of literature reviews,
observational review through video analysis, and interviews with the athlete. These data
collection methods will help me in my project by allowing me to strategically point out
differences in angular placement and posture, along with speed variations due to changes in
position. I will be able to compare a professional style of skiing with that of a novice skier and
point out the differences in positioning between an experienced skier and a novice skier. I will
limit research information to scholarly and reputable sources only. Once of the sources I will
reference comes from a research article called Clinical Biomechanics of Skiing.

Differences Between Private Sector And Voluntary Sector
1.Understand organisational structures
1.1Explain the differences between the private sector, public sector and voluntary sector
Private Sector
Businesses and industries that are not owned or controlled by the Government. Private Sector
organisations operate privately to make a profit with income generated from the sale of their
products or services. Although many private sector firms are owned and controlled by individuals,
many are owned by groups of people; for example, companies may be owned by shareholders, who
have invested in that company.
The Private Sector includes:

The Voluntary Sector is often referred to as the Third Sector or Not for Profit Sector. Whist they

The Voluntary Sector includes:
Charities Oxfam, Red Cross, YMCA, Women s Royal Voluntary Service
Trusts Local Housing Associations
Local community organisations Neighbourhood Watch Schemes
Societies/Clubs Local sports clubs, Scouts, Guides
1.2Explain the functions of different organisational structures
Having the appropriate structure is vital for an organisation or business to meet its aims and
objectives. A business may be structured by:
Functions activities such as customer service, marketing, operations, finance or IT
Location where regional divisions of the business take responsibility for a specific function or
particular products, whether locally, nationally or internationally
Product or services where the business is divided into the particular products made or services
provided
All organisations have employees working at different levels of responsibility. At the bottom, a
business depends on its operatives to produce the products or services. Team leaders often perform
the day to day management role, with operational managers setting direction and strategy for the
business as a whole. The number of employees in each level will depend on the business

Introduction
Continue passive motion is the passive motion performed by a mechanical device that move a joint

How Does Mayella Ewell Gain Power In To Kill A Mockingbird
Power can be obtained in many ways, however, there are three main ways to gain power. One could
gain power through their social class, race or gender. Many people throughout history have gained
power in one of these three ways. In Harper Lee s novel To Kill A Mockingbird, power is a
common theme. In this book, Mayella Ewell, a poor, 19 year old white girl, accuses a black man
named Tom Robinson of raping her. Mayella Ewell may not have powerin regards to her social
class or gender, she does have power in regards to her race. Mayella is not powerful when it
comes to her social class. Her father, Bob Ewell, has ruined the family s reputation by being
known as the town drunk and living in a dump that was previously a negro cabin. In the novel it
states, Maycomb s Ewells lived behind the town garbage dump in what was once a negro cabin

considered the lowest of lows, due to their social class. In the book, Atticus explains, He thought he

The Relations I Have With Siblings Essay
Writing Project One Rough Draft The Relations I have with my siblings are the most important
in my life for many reasons. My family includes my mom five siblings and I. Being the oldest
child comes with great responsibilities and lots of expectations. When I was eleven I wished I
was the youngest because I knew my younger brothers had the type of life I wanted. No chores
just love and laughter with some video games thrown in. I always held my feelings in and just
kept them to myself, I did not want to be a burden to mom. Looking back, I am truly happy my
wish to be the youngest never came true. I am happy my life turned out to be like coal that
turned into a diamond only; from time and the heavy pressure of exceptions and responsibility s.
I Knew I was loved as a child, but I had so much responsibility that at times I would quietly resent
my mom for placing such a heavy burden on my tiny shoulders. When all I wanted was to be
like other children, without a care in the world, playing in a playground with the beautiful sun
shining down on us as our childhood minds captured these moments to enjoy again as adults
reminiscing about it as if it was an old video or picture. I remember keeping my resent locked
down and just being a good mommy s helper. All my sadness fears and things I found to be a
challenge would be kept in my heart. I would find my validation from helping other and putting
myself on the back burner because I felt like I would be too selfish if I just did not

Social Reform Research Paper
Liberalism is increasingly complex in regards to the principles that belong to it, especially
within modern liberalism. Where classical liberalism was heavily economic based modern
liberalism seems to take more of a stance on human rights and it keeps its individual mindset
while still trying to not leave people behind. Many people commend our society, and some
criticize it. Social reform has happened for hundreds of years and it will continue to happen if
people continue to use their though to point out what they like and dislike in our society. There are
three sources presented to us, one from FDRs time claiming to give free education for adults, the
other is a critical picture on how government intervention works, lastly there is a paragraph

Examples Of Moral Decay In The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, depicts the corrupt lifestyle in the 1920 s. The theme of
moral decay is addressed numerous times through out the novel by characters actions and
expressions. Narrated by Nick Carraway, The Great Gatsby leans you into the unseen area of the
jazz age. Published in 1925, Fitzgerald explains how criminal doings, lying, and adultery cause
the consistent moral decay through out the novel. Moral decay was first explained by criminal
actions as a result of several events that took place. One event is the illegal usage of drug stores to
sell alcohol during the prohibition. This is performed by Jay Gatsby; a rich man that everyone is
obscured to how he obtains his great deal of wealth. Fitzgerald clarifies the wonder people had
about Gatsby when he states, Somebody told me that he killed a man once. It s more that he was
a German spy during the war. You look at him sometimes when he thinks nobody s looking at him.
I bet he killed a man. (43). The fictitious rumors about Gatsby are all made up, but because of
Gatsby s hidden criminal life these are being created about him.... Show more content on

The accidental death of Myrtle Wilson has an immense effect on moral decay. Daisy hits Myrtle
Wilson while driving Gatsby s car, and she proceeds to keep driving. Due to the foolish but
passionate love Gatsby still has for Daisy; he will take responsibility for Daisy s action. This
leads to Tom describing the incident as He ran over Myrtle like you d run over a dog and never
even stopped his car. (Fitzgerald 142 143). The lack of Daisy s acceptance of what she did shows
the immorality of the situation also. Gatsby s lie demonstrates lying can have a greater impact than

How Does Hitchcock Use Suspense In The Birds
The birds compare and contrast essay While reading/watching both du Maurier s The Birds and
Hitchcock s The Birds, they both used suspense to enhance the story/plot. However, Hitchcock s
does a better job at creating and utilizing the element of suspense using pace, timing, and
continuity. Alfred Hitchcock uses suspense by slowing the movie down so it makes the audience
wait and wait until the climax appears and gives a more dramatic feeling. For example in the
scene were the number of birds keep on increasing as Melanie Daniels innocently sits on the bench
next to the school. This is suspenseful because as she sits we see the birdsrapidly increasing but she
is completely clueless. Thus in du Maurier s The Birds she does not use the slow suspense in fact
she has action in the begging of her story. For example, children flung themselves, screaming, upon
him, while in the darkness the birds rose and dived and came for him again. (Page5). This shows
that she goes straight out and doesn t keep the action... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, when all the birds came fluttering out of the chimney exactly when you think they
would. This is suspenseful because you could hear sound of suicide birds hitting the house and
you knew something was going to happen. This was not shown by du Maurier s story because
she used very detailed descriptions and each part of the story followed a sequence. For example
when she explains that Jill was being attacked and then another room was attacked and so forth.
This is shown when she writes, Nat lit the candle, but when he opened the bedroom door to cross
the passage the draft blew out the flame. There came a second cry of terror, this time from both
children (4). This explains that she couldn t use timing because it was a book but she instead
wrote horrifying events that led up to one big one. Therefor Alfred s The Birds, was more

Marcus Brutus Reputation
Marcus Brutus was a man who gave his life for the best of Rome. He killed himself just so fewer
people would die in the war between Rome and the Rebels. This showed that he was honorable,
noble, and had integrity. He was one of the only conspirators willing to lay down his life for the
good of Rome. Brutus wife even killed herself yet Brutus still stood strong. This showed that he
had his heart set on protecting Rome from Caesar no matter what it took. Because of this, he
was honored for his nobility. Brutus was willing to give his life to better Rome. He knew that if
he killed Caesar, (someone who was popular with the people), he would be hunted down if he
couldn t convince the people that what he was doing was for the best. Brutus ended up using
logos in his speech, which was overpowered by Antony s speech that included pathos. This causes
a manhunt to find and kill all of the conspirators. The crowd had mob mentality so very little
could be done to convince them that what the conspirators did was for the best of Rome. Brutus at
this point decides it would be better to kill himself than to be killed by his own people. At the end,

The Taming Of The Shrew And 10 Things I Hate About You...
How has the process of detecting intertextual relationships between texts also enriched your
understanding of a significant cultural issue or idea?
The explicit and implicit subjects of this play arranged marriages, the authority of fathers and
husbands, the obedience expected from daughters and wives, the economic helplessness of most
women were issues and experiences that touched the lives of everyone in Shakespeare s audience.
Dorothea Kehler
Detecting intertextual relationships between The Taming of the Shrewby William Shakespeare and
10 Things I Hate About You directed by Gil Junger has enriched my understanding of feminismin
the American society. The Taming of The Shrew, written in 1593, challenges cultural expectations
of women s rights at that time. 10 Things I Hate About You however, was produced to fit the
context of 1990 s America. A period when a great deal of anxiety was focused on adolescent girls,
following publication of reports which found that the education of adolescent girls was
marginalized.
In the 16th century, it may have been a historical fact that Eve was created from Adam s rib, thus
the socially accepted system of patriarchy. The Taming of The Shrew promotes typical 16th century
attitudes towards matrimony and relations between fathers and daughters. Baptista, Katherine s

The Stereotypes Of High School Students
It s crazy to me to think about how much a person s thoughts revolve around how they look,
what name brands they are wearing, how athletic or intelligent they appear, or especially how
others perceive them. As high school students, we are probably the most materialistic group of
people out there. We spend hours on end making sure every inch of our outfit, makeup, and hair
is perfect, and that there is no strand out of place. Every one of us cares about what our peers
think of us, and if you meet someone who says they don t, they are most likely lying. Being a high
schoolstudent myself, not caring about other people s opinions is one of the toughest battles I
have faced these last three years. I was sitting in the lunchroom, peanut butter stuck to my teeth
and the roof of my mouth, laughing hysterically with my friends. Just like every other day we
had an overflowing, obnoxious table with loud teenage girls that crave to be the center of
attention. Our table roared with commotion, just like our lives. I felt as if I had a lot of friends,
and I was considered one of the popular kids in school, but not in a degrading way; or so I thought.

The Use Of Stigmas On Mental Illnesses
Abstract
There are various stigmas associated with mental illnesses, many of which, are both incorrect, and
uninformed. There will be several articles discussed in this paper. All of the articles mentioned
here with deal with such mental illness stigmas, such as stigmas that affect the current generation,
how the mentally ill are discriminated against in everyday life, and how one s culture affects how
he or she views mental illnesses. Discussed here will also be said article s findings, such as the
results of its experiment, and what measurements were used. These articles agree that stigmas are
every where, regardless of culture, age, or social standing, but that the intensity and importance of
those stigmas do vary.

The purpose of this article, and experiment, was to find a correlation between strong views on
mental illness, and culture. The survey was conducted from the year 2002, until the year 2003. This
first article had two experiments conducted, the first experiment was a pre determined telephone
vignette survey, and the other was a recruitment of university students. The telephone survey s
participants consisted of 589 European Americans, and 56 Chinese Americans, all who were under
the age of 18 (Yang 2013).
The first experiment was developed to simply observe and collect a generalized and agreed upon
stigma on mental illness. Each participant was telephoned, and was presented with two examples of
people with mental illnesses: a person that had schizophrenia, and a person that had depression.
Because the participants of this experiment all belonged to either the Chinese American, or
European American culture, each participant was given the option to have the information
presented to them in either English, or Chinese, in order to assure the highest possible degree of
understanding. Each survey took roughly 20 25 minutes, each (Yang 2013). The measures of this
first experiment were two vignettes.
The second study was conducted in a laboratory setting, and was conducted from June to August in
the year 2010. The participants chosen were students from several universities in New York City,

St. Laurent Boulevard Walking Tour Reflection
Geography: St Laurent Boulevard Walking Tour Reflection
St Laurent Boulevard, popularly known as The Main, I believe, is a historical region in Canada
with a strong sense of history. It is a unique place in the history of Canada, arising from emergence
and development of the various cultural communities that integrated to form a representative of
Canadian society as a whole. Further, according to its cosmopolitan feature, the constant renewal of
due to merging and mixing of culture aesthetics and the commemorative intent gives it a very
particular sense of place.
Also, St Laurent is the immigrants corridor: with garments and textile factories, its many local
businesses, and the theater and entertainment world, it evolved in a lifestyle that even inspired
artists and writers. According to author Aline Gubbay, although the street has no outstanding
buildings or spectacular monuments, it has value worth more than that. What it offers together with
continuity of its long history, is human scale, a line of city life, dwellers in its corridors, who
through ups and downs, has retained a sense of neighborhood.

I believed that Big Hero 6 stands out from all the other Disney movies as from my evaluation
through the movie made me notice that it s characters were mostly all centered around smart
human beings. However, due to this, Disney still used a well known cliche as they still have at
least one dumb character mostly for comedic purposes. Another well known cliche in Disney
movies that is seen in Big Hero 6, is how at least one person dies in the movie whether it be
during the movie, or in the introduction. Many Disney movies play out like this to create/develop
a conflict, but however it is later resolved with a happy ending where all the characters achieve a
particular goal or solve the conflict. But most movies aimed towards kids will always have a
happy ending, as they don t want to end on a sour note. In my analysis of Big Hero 6, I saw that
symbolism was conveyed throughout the movie. One notable example, came at the expense of
Tadashi, Hiro s brother, as he sacrifices his life to try to save Callaghan. The loss of Tadashi

cultural level to most of Spain, during the Civil war, and universally to any war struck country.
Throughout the novel Natalia is challenged with several internal conflicts, many of which
originate from external conflict with her husband, Quimet. Natalia is a meek, mild, young
woman in the beginning of the novel, It was hard for me to say no if someone asked me to do
something (15). Quimet juxtaposes Natalia s personality in almost every way, he is obsessive,
possessive, and controlling, ...and said if I wanted to be his wife I had to start liking everything
he liked (22). Quimet persuades her to marry him and leave her fiancГ©, Pere. He often
challenges Natalia s confidence and persuades her to do and agree to things she is uncomfortable
with, creating internal conflicts for Natalia s inability to protest or decline. For instance, Natalia
does not want Quimet to build the dovecote and raise the doves, but does not possess the adequate
confidence to voice her opinion. Natalia is generally unable to convey her feelings of rage and
discontent to the other characters, she often remarks on her difficulty to verbally express herself to
the audience.
Many factors of Natalia s life also create external conflict, most prominently the famine caused by
the war, she struggles to keep her children fed and is plagued with guilt, I had two mouths to feed
and nothing to put in them. I can t describe how sad it was (134). Natalia is eventually forced to
make drastic decisions to try to spare her children, including sending her son, Antoni, to a children s

Root Canal Dental Procedure
In a way, a root canal is a dental procedure similar to cutting off a limb in a zombie movie. The
dentist removes the infection from the inside of the tooth to keep it from infecting the rest of your
body and eventually killing you. However, in this instance, you actually get to keep your dead tooth.
You might wonder: why have dental work performed to keep a dead tooth? Because, it allows you
to keep the tooth in your mouth for chewing and speaking purposes, and you will not have to
replace it with an implant.
According to the dental office of Greenery Park Dentistry in Kalispell, MT, here are a few reasons
that would require you to have a root canal dental procedure:

The Ideology And The Policies Adopted By Stalin
Lecture Summarizes Stalinism is the ideology and the policies adopted by Stalin, based on
centralization, totalitarianism, and the pursuit of communism. Before Stalin there was Lenin,
who put into effect the New Economic Policy. He acknowledge that the ideology of
communism, which called for the abolition of private property, private ownership, and the
destruction of the free market. New Economic Policy also known as NEP is the state that
maintains its centralized control over the economy. NEP allowed peasants to use their land as if
it was their own, and largely allowed marketing their products and sell them at market prices.
This process allowed those in need of food to have a meal so they wouldn t starve in 1921 1922
more than 7 million people died of starvation and sickness. Progressively, the production of food
reached prewar levels and small scale industrial production revitalizes. During this period there
were two groups of people who benefitted from this Lenin developed the Five Year Plan at this
point. The first group was small merchants who sold products on the free market and did very well
they establish the name NEP men. The second group was Kulaks who were prosperous peasants
with land had something to sell their products summoned good prices. Unfortunately, the end of
NEP and Lenin was coming and the Kulaks were the targets in the mass collectivization campaign
that accompanied the Five Year Plan. Stalin wanted to prove he was better than Lenin so he would

Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion
This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general
formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined
through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate
complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to
Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice:
2Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution.
The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Show more content on

Part 2 of this experiment invoked the use of redox
titrating to determine the oxalate content (C2O42 ) of the salt. An aqueous solution of the iron
oxalate salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis
by measuring the volume of titrant.
Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III)
oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and
Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part
1. Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage
of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of
determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known
concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs.
concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part
3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion. The Beer s Law Plot that was
graphed came out to be linear with an equation of:
Absorbance = 5.395 x 10^3(Fe^+2 Bipy) 0.0014.
The empirical formula that was determined was different from that of the true compound
mentioned. The empirical formula determined was:
K3[Fe(C2O4^ 2)3] 3 H2O
If had there been a better alternate method to determining the iron

Presently, for studying personality traits there are two important models with five factors, Costa Mc Crae s Five Factor Model, and Goldberg s Big Five (as sighted in Mc Adams, 1992). In Five Factor Model there are five traits named as Extraversion, openness, Agreeableness conscientiousness and Neuroticism. I learned that working capital is the requirements for running normal business operations on a daily basis. It is the necessary amount needed to keep the doors open and is analyzed for a period of about a year. Working capital is essential for fulfilling business operating needs. Cash that is spent is not considered working capital because it can no longer be used by the company to invest. Working capital is the cash surplus within the company used to make more money. Also, the level of fixed assets and current assets depends on the expected sales but only the current assets can be adjusted with fluctuating sales in a diminutive period. Most importantly, time must be considered when managing fixed assets. Discounting and compounding of time play a major role in capital budgeting and a minor role in the management of current assets. Ultimately, a business can survive without appropriate working capital policy, but a firm without working capital has a much smaller life span than businesses that are well capitalized. Working Capital Policy Introduction: Working Capital is the single most important component of a business or firm because it has a direct impact on the cash flows. Working capital is the capital you require for the working functioning of your business in the short run (BBI). There are two types of working capital; gross working capital and net working capital. Gross working capital is current assets. Net working capital is the difference between current assets and current liabilities. Net working capital will be referred to as simply working capital in this paper. Operating Cash flows arise from normal business operations and is the difference between cash expenses associated with the manufacturing and sales of products and the cash collected from the sales. However from our SWOT (appendix 1) and Porters 5 forces analysis (appendix 2) it was concluded that they should not do this. Instead the BBC should keep BBC3 and close BBC4. This report looks at how the change can be implemented using Lewin s Change Model, Balance Scorecard and effective leadership. Introduction According to Hrebiniak (2006), formulating a consistent strategy is a difficult task however implementing it is even more difficult. Noble, (1999b) suggested that strategy implementation is often seen as a craft, rather than a science. According to the Balanced Scorecard Collaborative (2007), there are four reasons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the analysis it has been concluded that the BBC should keep BBC3 on the TV and instead remove BBC4. One reason for this strategy has been suggested is because the BBC have many diversified products to meet requirement of each customer (BBC, 2014). However, BBC3 is the only channel that caters to the younger market, 16 34 year olds, therefore by removing this from TV they would no longer have a channel for this market. It has been found that youth are already underserved and older audiences are over served (Plunkett, 2014) therefore by removing BBC3 from the TV they would be further underserved. Additionally, there has been a signed petition against the BBC3 proposal (Change.org 2015) suggesting that its customers do not want it to be taken off TV. Furthermore 16% of UK households don t have access to internet and by removing BBC3 from the TV that 16% of the market will not be able to access it. BBC4 have 2 million less viewers than BBC3 each week (BBC 2015). Additionally, BBC4 has many repeat shows on the channel and also similar shows to BBC2 therefore by closing BBC4 instead of BBC3 the BBC would lose less customers. Closing BBC4 would involve transferring longstanding programmes that are shown on BBC4 to BBC 2 as the two channels are already working closely together (BBC 2015). Implementation Change Kurt Lewin (1947) developed a change model that involves three steps: unfreezing, changing and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Differences Of Edgar Allan Poe, Hawthorne And Washington... Poe, Hawthorne, and Irving A light switch is either on or off; in a sports match, a team either wins or loses; water is either hot or cold; people are wealthy or poor; thin or fat; muggle or wizard, Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. These are examples of binary opposites. Rational and irrational thinking are binary opposites meaning that they are concepts that cannot coexist. However, many of the authors that we have read about push the boundaries of this concept. They force our minds to look at the gray areas instead of just black and white and to reflect on reality vs fantasy. They bring the unknown, the fears, and the unaccepted into our world. These authors mix true events with things that they couldn t know so they made them up. Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Washington Irvingare well known authors of American Romanticism. They are also all known for pushing these boundaries through their creative writing styles. The Romantic Movement, as generally agreed by most scholars, focuses on the individual, the subjective, and the spontaneous (Pennell, 2006, 2). Romantics encouraged contemplation and self awareness, direct contact with nature, and a focus on and an exploration of inner feelings. Edgar Allan Poe born in Boston January 19, 1809. What Was The Evolution Of Rugby Rugby is a very popular sport in England that is best known to have been born in 1873, when William Webb Ellis, with fine disregard for the rules of soccer, considering the fact that soccer rules hadn t even really taken serious yet anyways, was playing soccer at rugby school where he attended, when he took off with the ball in his hands, thus originating the distinctive feature of the Rugby Game. This is also the explanation of why the Rugby world is called the William Webb Ellis Trophy. • 10. Diesel Engines Vs. Modern Technology Diesel engines, long reputed for being loud and dirty, are making waves in the U.S., says Alex Davies of Business Insider. With the never ending evolution of modern technology, the diesel engine has come a long way since its invention in the late 19th century. With new advancements in technology, the diesel engineis no longer loud and dirty as it was in the past. In fact, with modern advancements, diesel engines have come to possess many advantages over gasoline engines. Modern diesel engines boast better attributes than their gasoline counterparts, such as greater reliability, increased fuel efficiency, and superior performance. When most people think of a diesel engine, they think of a semi truck or a tractor. People think of something big and dirty when they hear the word diesel . Diesel engines have long been used in heavy equipment, things like semi trucks, tractors, locomotives, and the like. But how about in a car? What a crazy idea, right? Well, although this may seem crazy, it actually makes perfectly good sense. Diesel engines have many advantages over a gasoline engine. Diesel engines are more reliable than gasoline motors. Why are diesel engines more reliable? Diesel engines are built heavier than gasoline engines. A diesel engine is a compression engine, so to handle the compression experienced by the engine during ignition, the engine must be built heavier than a typical gasoline engine. Diesel engines tend to last longer than gasoline engines as well. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Historically, the American bison played an important role in the Great Plains. They graze on native grasses and actually disturb the soil with their hooves which allows plant and animal species to flourish. Prairie dogs prefer areas grazed by bison where the grass is short so they can keep a lookout for hungry predators, and wolves once relied on bison herds as a major food source. Today, wild bison are beginning to return, mainly in national parks but they still need to more room to roam as they are still being hunted outside the park s safe borders. Why Were the Buffalo Important? The Buffalo were very important to the Native Americans tribes living in the Great Plains because Buffalo was their main food. How Does Hitchcock Use Suspense In The Birds The birds compare and contrast essay While reading/watching both du Maurier s The Birds and Hitchcock s The Birds, they both used suspense to enhance the story/plot. However, Hitchcock s does a better job at creating and utilizing the element of suspense using pace, timing, and continuity. Alfred Hitchcock uses suspense by slowing the movie down so it makes the audience wait and wait until the climax appears and gives a more dramatic feeling. For example in the scene were the number of birds keep on increasing as Melanie Daniels innocently sits on the bench next to the school. This is suspenseful because as she sits we see the birdsrapidly increasing but she is completely clueless. Thus in du Maurier s The Birds she does not use the slow suspense in fact she has action in the begging of her story. It is a unique place in the history of Canada, arising from emergence and development of the various cultural communities that integrated to form a representative of Canadian society as a whole. Further, according to its cosmopolitan feature, the constant renewal of due to merging and mixing of culture aesthetics and the commemorative intent gives it a very particular sense of place. Also, St Laurent is the immigrants corridor: with garments and textile factories, its many local businesses, and the theater and entertainment world, it evolved in a lifestyle that even inspired artists and writers. According to author Aline Gubbay, although the street has no outstanding buildings or spectacular monuments, it has value worth more than that. What it offers together with continuity of its long history, is human scale, a line of city life, dwellers in its corridors, who through ups and downs, has retained a sense of neighborhood. Roosevelt tried to use his Presidential powers to break trusts and monopolies. He made laws to make it easier for him to break trusts and monopolies. He tried to use all his presidential powers by making laws. Roosevelt passed 6 laws to make it easier for him as a president, and as a trust buster. One of the specific laws he passed was called the Sherman Act. This law declared illegal for all combinations in restraint of trade. This law ultimately failed because whenever he tried to use it in court the judge either just denied it or the judge found a way around it. This means that the Sherman Act did not help Roosevelt break any trades or monopolies. Roosevelt was looking for a major monopoly to break, and he came across J.P. Morgan. Roosevelt came at this case aggressively because he really wanted to take down this monopoly. J.P. Considering that the average cost to own a car in the United States is over $9000 per year, or $750 per month, not including the price of parking permits on and around college campuses, a college student using only monthly passes could save just under $700 per month, or around $8300 per year, on transportation costs and a student using semester passes plus three monthly passes during semester breaks would save just under $8500 per year. While public transportation is not perfect and often does not allow for long range transportation, the massive amount of money saved could be the difference between being able to get through college debt free and needing to take out the dreaded student loans. I believed that Big Hero 6 stands out from all the other Disney movies as from my evaluation through the movie made me notice that it s characters were mostly all centered around smart human beings. However, due to this, Disney still used a well known cliche as they still have at least one dumb character mostly for comedic purposes. Another well known cliche in Disney movies that is seen in Big Hero 6, is how at least one person dies in the movie whether it be during the movie, or in the introduction. Many Disney movies play out like this to create/develop a conflict, but however it is later resolved with a happy ending where all the characters achieve a particular goal or solve the conflict. But most movies aimed towards kids will always have a happy ending, as they don t want to end on a sour note. In my analysis of Big Hero 6, I saw that symbolism was conveyed throughout the movie. One notable example, came at the expense of Tadashi, Hiro s brother, as he sacrifices his life to try to save Callaghan. The loss of Tadashi consumes Hiro s will to learn/create or to even leave his house. But however, it makes him depressed and wants him to take his anger/revenge out on Callaghan who he faked his ... Internal And External Conflicts In The Time Of The Doves MercГЁ Rodoreda s immersive novel, The Time of the Doves, presents numerous realistic conflicts and their effects on an ordinary citizen. Natalia, the protagonist, is challenged with several internal and external conflicts that range from an inability to express herself to a war fueled famine. Rodoreda uses personal experience, as well as knowledge of the typical female role during the Spanish Civil Warto add a personal outlook on the conflicts she presents. Natalia s internal conflicts are compelling, and can be applied to a large portion of women, in the past and today. As for the external conflict, Natalia s sufferings with the effects of warcan be applied on a cultural level to most of Spain, during the Civil war, and universally to any war struck country. Throughout the novel Natalia is challenged with several internal conflicts, many of which originate from external conflict with her husband, Quimet. Natalia is a meek, mild, young woman in the beginning of the novel, It was hard for me to say no if someone asked me to do something (15). Quimet juxtaposes Natalia s personality in almost every way, he is obsessive, possessive, and controlling, ...and said if I wanted to be his wife I had to start liking everything he liked (22). Quimet persuades her to marry him and leave her fiancГ©, Pere. He often challenges Natalia s confidence and persuades her to do and agree to things she is uncomfortable with, creating internal conflicts for Natalia s inability to protest or decline. For instance, Natalia does not want Quimet to build the dovecote and raise the doves, but does not possess the adequate confidence to voice her opinion. Natalia is generally unable to convey her feelings of rage and discontent to the other characters, she often remarks on her difficulty to verbally express herself to the audience. Many factors of Natalia s life also create external conflict, most prominently the famine caused by the war, she struggles to keep her children fed and is plagued with guilt, I had two mouths to feed and nothing to put in them. • 44. Oxalate Lab Essay Dr. Hjorth Gustin Chemistry 201 Lab November 8th, 2010 Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice: 2Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution. The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Part 2 of this experiment invoked the use of redox titrating to determine the oxalate content (C2O42 ) of the salt. An aqueous solution of the iron oxalate salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis by measuring the volume of titrant. Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III) oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part 1. Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs. concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part 3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion.
