Introduction: Our class gathered to observe the differences and similarities of life
observable under a microscope. We wanted to study details of each slide to
understand the larger picture of the life that they make up.
Methods and Materials: Our class of twelve was subdivided into six groups of two.
Each group used a light microscope to observe thirteen slides of organic materials
(listed with the appended images). The slides were dyed one or two colors to show
different parts of the organisms or cells. With each slide we started our observations
on 40x magnification and moved up, through 100x, to 400x magnification. After
recording what I saw under the microscopes, I researched what I had seen, and
collected images for comparison, which appear in the appendix.

The first slide that my team observed was of Allium root tip in mitosis. Even on the
lowest magnification, cell wells were clear, and nuclei were visible. This visibility
shows how relatively large the cells are. On higher magnification, chromosomes
were visible, and clearly splitting; they were in varying stages of mitosis. Not all cell
walls seemed to have nuclei in them. The duplicating cells were caught in stop

of God. Despite this, the Pardoner s only goal is to scam as many people as he can
with his pardoning of sins. The Pardoner would pretend to have objects blessed by
the Vatican and sell them to people as an indulgence for future sins. It is doubtful
that any of his objects had even been to Rome. Therefore, when the Pardoner starts
his tale, it is one full of hypocrisyand deceit. Arguably, Chaucer s grievance was not
specific to the Pardoner. Rather, Chaucer used this character to make a wider point
about the corruption of religionduring the fourteenth century. During Chaucer s
life, the fourteenth century, it was a common belief that outward physical attribute
represents the personal attributes such as one s moral code and vices. Chaucer s
first description of the Pardoner s appearance says, This pardoner hadde heer as
yelow as wex. / But smothe it heeng as dooth a strike of flex; / By ounces henge his

I really enjoyed reading the chapter about interpersonal perception. I didn t realize
until after reading chapter four there were so many different aspects to the
interpersonal perception process. It was really interesting figuring out some of these
interpersonal perception aspects that apply to my life. The three terms I would like to
discuss in this paper are overattributing positively bias and negativity bias. The first
concept I would like to address is overattributing. The book defines over attribution
as the tendency to attribute a range of behaviors to a single characteristic of a
person. I would like to talk about how the process of overattributing has affected
my relationship with my son. Even though I didn t know before reading the
information about overattributingne that that s what I was doing to my son. My son
was born premature and has had to overcome lots of challenges in his life. One of
his challenges has been his behavior and his inability to control himself around
other children. I have taken him to get help and he is on medication to help him
clam down. I now realize that every time he does something anything wrong I
blame it on his condition ADHA. He has been kicked out of school so many times
for his behavior and most recently kicked out of every summer program in the area
we live in. After reading about over attributing I have decided to form now on
instead of assuming my sons behavior on his condition instead I will take the time
out to ask him why

Analysis Of Girl By Jamaica Kincaid
Society has created in their minds the way a woman is supposed to act and the
things they are allowed to do. In Jamaica Kincaid s Girl , we see a young woman
being forced to live by the likeness of the society in which she dwells. Although this
is not the life she wants to live, she has no other choice than to become the womanshe
was made to be.
Throughout time the relationship between mothers and daughters have changed.
Many mothers hold on to the old fashioned opinion of what a woman should be and
many older women feel that a women s true role in life is to be domesticated. This
idea of a woman s place in the home is being reinforced throughout Kincaid s short
story. The mother in the story is telling her young daughter the ways things should
be done. Wash the white clothes on Monday and put them on the stone heap; wash
the colored clothes on Tuesday and put them on the clothesline to dry. She further
goes on to describe other household chores and how they should be correctly done.
This is how you sweep a corner. She tells her daughter how to set a table for
different meals, how to cook things, and even how to pick out bread.
Unfortunately, though, the story doesn t tell a woman how to have a successful
career, to go to college, or how to work outside of the home. In those days women
were expected to stay at home while their husband s go out to work and make all
the money. Even if they tried, they were not allowed to go outside the way society
made them to be and this mother is trying to raise her young daughter the same way
she was raised which is to be a house wife.
Even though the girl says nothing in the story, she is building resentment towards
her mother because she feels that she should be allowed to make her own decision
on whether to be domesticated. Throughout the story never did the mother once
stop to get her daughter s input on the issues, she just simply tells her daughter that
she has no other choice but to be domesticated and there is no way of changing it.
She tells the daughter how to act, how to dress, how to talk, and even how to walk.
Always eat your food in a way that it won t turn someone else s stomach...On

fellow writer Allen Ginsberg ( Gary Snyder ).
One day, he visited the Seattle Art Museum and it showed him a whole knew
world; the world of Chinese architecture and landscape painting. Snyder was so
astonished by the artwork and how each of the civilizations had attachments to their
surrounding nature. Following that he attended University of California at
Berkeley for the next three years where he preformed a graduate study in Oriental

pieces of work that not only become close too you in a social way but also in
