Abnormal behaviors are seen daily, especially in an Parks Department building in
Pawnee, Indiana. In the TV show Parks and Rec, a character by the name of Leslie
Knope displays a personality that one can identify as quirky and out of the ordinary.
Her behaviors can be analyzed as unusual, self defeating, socially unacceptable, and
causing personal distress. The times Leslie Knope has shown characteristics of being
unusual is numerous. In almost every episode of Parks and Recreation, Leslie portrays

Since I ve been involved with leftwing political movements, identity politics has been
a driving force on the left. Obama has gotten away with murder, literally, because of
identity politics. Hillary Clinton s electoral loss could be attributed to identity politics.
And many people argue one of the primary limitations of Black Lives Matter is their
adherence to identity politics.
When identities take precedence over ideas, values, principles, political programs,
strategies and tactics, the left can expect to keep losing. Unfortunately, the same is
true at Standing Rock, where tribal leaders wanted to talk about white privilege,
whereas rank and file natives were more interested in talking about strategy and
tactics and how to stop all oil pipelines, not just those running through native lands.
The fact that Wes Clark Jr. and the tribal elders didn t seek input from rank and file
activists isn t unfortunate or a coincidence, it s how power functions when power
is centralized and unwilling to seek advice in a democratic manner from people
who often know better. The fact of the matter is that the tribal leadership at Standing
Rock has virtually no experience organizing political movements, let alone acts of

Austen uses Catherine s ordinariness as a way to celebrate implicitly the ordinary
heroism of all women. Austen uses a distinct type of irony in her creation of
Northanger Abbey s heroine. Catherine is someone who rejects the constricting
standards of previous depictions of female heroism and instead embraces a
tomboyish persona, allowing her to challenge the gendered standards of heroism as

Causes Of Civil Disobedience
Although civil disobedience rarely accomplishes the change that it demands directly,
it does create change indirectly through raising awareness and support. Civil
disobedience works by relying on the reaction of governments/societies after
individuals rebel to rally support for the protest. If the government/society violently
crushes the rebellion, as in the case of Antigone, then the civil disobediencewins by
creating pity and sorrow for the rebellion. However, if the government/society does
not react, then the individuals are still successful by being allowed to get away with
