4. In modern society , a large number of children spend most of their free time on playing
computer game . Even though computer is now common in our life , but once it used by
youth it will brings many effects including good effect and bad effect . Besides that ,
computer games are common tools for children and they are more enjoyable by playing
with them . Computer games that played with a team can helps to reinforce concept of
the effectiveness of teamwork . However , computer games may have negative effects
too such as causing children become violent and also even death.
Firstly , computer games can let a children know what is the important of teamwork .
Most of the games today required two or more player to archive victory . For instance , a
research done by Washburn University ( 2011 ) mentioned that games such as Lego
Star Wars or Kirby's Epic Yarn are promoted by require players to work hand-in-hand to
solve the games and most of the multiplayer games such as LEGO Universe and Lord
of the Rings Online further required players work to gather in order to complete some
mission . In gaming world, teamwork is required to finish many mission ranging from
gaining a weapon to kill a monster . Teams that have better teamwork are more easily
to complete the mission compared to team that have less teamwork . It result to a kind
of social capital within the game space that can be maximize for mobilizing resources
and asking helping from other gamers ( Jakobsson & Taylor , 2003 ) . All the research
above can justified that children can build up teamwork through playing computer
games.
Besides than good effect , computer games also brings negative effect to children like
causing children become violent . Andrea Norcia , M.A. ( 2014 , June ) mentioned that a
research of 1,102 adolescents found that 97 percent had played video games in few

5. days ago . Although most parents seen the rating of the game before allowing their child
to buy it , 50 percent and14 percent of boys and girls favored games with an "M"
( mature ) or "AO" ( adult-only ) rating , which consists of high level of violence . Other
than that , researchers found out media psychologists and communication scientists
from three different organizations , in addition to 268 parents from across America and
92 members of the Council on Communication and Media from the American Academy
of Pediatrics . 66 percent of researchers , 67 percent of parents, and 90 percent of
pediatrics all consented that violent computer games resulted in aggressive conduct
among children , Samantha Olson ( 2014 , Oct 7 )
Lastly , children over played computer games will also caused death . According to
SFGATE news ( 2015 , April 9 ) reported that Pittsburgh police said online computer
game logins to catch a suspect of missing person case . Hubert Wingate was arraigned
Thursday on charges including homicide , abuse of a corpse in the death of 34-year-old
Andre Gray . One of the case is happen in Korea that Korean Killed by Starcraft in year
2005 . Starcraft is an multiplayer game which required many warriors to involved into
battle with other warriors cocontain by other real people . Danger. R ( 2009 , Feb 24 ) .
As a result , games that played with a team can helps to reinforce concept of the
effectiveness of teamwork . However , computer games may have negative effects too
such as causing children become violent and also even death . Hence , children should
spend their time wisely on playing computer games and it should not be over because
will causes it result in negative effects . At last but not least , teacher and parents should
become an important role in educating their children do not over played computer
game .
