CIVIL SOCIETY
The government makes and implements of laws to
ensure its compliance the needs of society. Even so, in
many cases the government fails in this goal.
Terms to remember…
Rights
 are legal, social, or ethical principles of freedom or
entitlement
Human Rights
 are moral or ethical standards that define specific standards
of human behavior and are always protected as natural and
legal rights in municipal and international law.
Duties  are moral or legal obligation or a responsibility.
Responsibilities  are the obligation to carry forward an assigned task to a
successful conclusion
Role  is a set of connected behaviors, rights, obligations, beliefs,
and norms as conceptualized by people in a social situation.

• Even if we are rich or poor, we all have equal rights. No person has
more rights than others.
• It is important that you know as well the duties and responsibilities
affiliated with each right.
• We must be taking the same way of living in a principle with equal
rights and freedom.
• As human, we have the same rights and responsibilities that enable
us to follow and enjoy for good.
What is right?
 It is the moral power to do, handle, leverage and possess things
people need in their state of life.
A person's right is
associated with obligation
of his fellow to respect it.
When this right is
violated, he will have a
feeling of remorse.
• It is moral because man cannot force it in his fellowmen
to give him the mandatory things he needs in life.
• As a moral power, the right must benefit the human
because we can do moral action. Because of this right,
the person already has an obligation to assume and
fulfill his duties.
RIGHT AS MORAL POWER
THE HUMAN RIGHTS
1. Right to life
 This is the highest right level. It should dominate another
right in case it falls into danger.
2. Right to private ownership
 Man needs assets to live well and be productive citizens.
3. Right to marry
 Man has a right to form a family through marriage.
Such these rights are inalienable. It cannot be removed nor changed.

5. Right to faith
 Everyone is freely choose a religion that will help him to
develop his personality.
6. Right to work
 Man has right to decent employment to they get the
right to life.
4. Right to go elsewhere
 Include with this right is to move elsewhere already there
are opportunities such as employment or safety in danger.
1. Be born and have a name and nationality.

2. Have a home and family to take care of.
3. Live in a peaceful and quiet place.
4. Have enough food, healthy and active body.
5. Provide adequate education.

8. Provide protection against abuse, danger and violence.
9. Defend and help the government.

This is the moral obligation to do or not to do a task.
Must do roles because it is appropriate or beneficial.
WHAT IS ROLE?
• Included in the morality of man fulfilling the
duty. This is moral work because morality
sustains of our community life.
• Hence apostasy or non-compliance with
duty is in opposition to community life with
great impact on self and on relationships.
