- 5. What’s Abuse? Sexual When someone touches you or asks you to touch them on the private parts of the body, other than to keep you clean and healthy. *Private parts are those that are covered by your bathing suit. Physical When someone touches your body in such a way that causes you physical harm (e.g. severe bruises, welts, burns, broken bones or cuts).

- 12. Tell Someone • Tell an adult you can trust. Don’t ever be afraid to tell a trusted adult Who is a trusted adult you can go to when you are in an uncomfortable situation?
- 13. Secrets…Good Secret- A secret that you feel safe and comfortable keeping because it does not hurt you or anyone else. Examples of a Good Secret - Keeping a surprise party a secret is okay because it does not harm anyone and is meant to make someone feel happy. Bad Secret-A secret you feel uncomfortable keeping because it could hurt you or someone else.Examples of a Bad Secret - No one should ever touch your body and ask you to keep it a secret.
- 14. Be Believed • What do you do if the person you tell does not believe you? • Remember– if anything has happened to you— IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT!!
- 15. “If someone touches you in a way or on a place that is not okay, remember you did not do anything wrong. No matter what happened, it’s not your fault! If this ever happens to you, you need to say no, try to get away, and tell someone that you trust. Some times it’s hard to talk to people about these situations, but your parents, teachers, school counselors, and adults you trust are the people you can tell, and it’s important to keep telling until you are believed”.
