This document discusses the equipment used in a histopathology lab. It describes microscopes, microtomes, paraffin wax baths, slide warmers, and knives for sectioning tissues. 3. WHAT IS HISTOPATHOLOGY?
 Histopathology refers to the microscopic examination
of tissue in order to study the manifestations of disease.

4. BIOPSY
 An examination of tissue removed from a living body
to discover the presence, cause, or extent of a
disease.

5. MICROSCOPE
 A microscope is an instrument used to see
objects that are too small to be seen by the naked
eye.
 Microscopy is the science of investigating small
objects and structures using such an instrument.

6. MICROTOME
 A microtome is a tool used to cut extremely thin slices
of material, known as sections.
 Microtomes are used in microscopy, allowing for the
preparation of samples for observation under
transmitted light or electron radiation.

7. PARAFFIN WAX BATH
 This is designed to assist with the handling of paraffin
wax samples in histology and pathology laboratories.
 It is essentially a hot distilled water floating out bath that
allows for the meticulous manipulation and location of
paraffin wax sections onto glass slides.

8. SLIDE WARMER
 The large slide warmer provides the larger
histology or research lab a tool for drying paraffin
sections in minutes in order to perform routine
staining.

9. KNIVES HONING AND STROPPING EQUIPMENTS
 The processing knife sharping with minimal loss of
metal.

 These cabinets are used to store the stained slide
of Histopathology for future references.

 Automatic Tissue Processor is a compact and
sturdy instrument designed with latest technology
for complete automatic dehydration and filtration of
human, tissues, up to final fixing in wax.
