Digital solutions are creating another platform for students to fully strengthen their abilities to grasp the subject. When students work exclusively independently that environment can create gaps in their learning process.

What do we mean by ”digital transformation”? What does it require from organizations and employees? What role can the intranet play in the digital transformation? How? These are questions that Oscar Berg answer in this presentation.

The Responsibility Process uncovers how people take and avoid responsibility. Looking at it from project context, we discuss how to promote success in projects by supporting the taking of responsibility.
How can an industry that places empathy at the core of its practice ignore the big problems facing South Africa and the continent? In a rapidly changing design landscape will UX designers even be relevant in the future? UX designers exist at a unique interdisciplinary juncture and it gives us the opportunity to create inspiring responses to these questions. With the maturity of design thinking, social innovation, and lean startup, we are uniquely placed to re-apply our skills to find new relevance and greater impact in doing work that matters. But taking action is not easy, even if it can be known what is to be done. In this talk David will explore the new mindsets, skills and attitudes UX designers need to adopt to shift from merely doing design to becoming design activists.

How our digital technology fuels real world experiences. So much has changed since I crafted this presentation but my thesis is more apparent now than ever. For those interested I started publicly exploring this topic again over on my LinkedIn profile and at HelloJanello.com
NOTE: This is a talk from 2008 that includes an exercise at the end. Not seeing this presented live could cause this section to be confusing. The set up is simple. The first equation is the exercise and the second equation is an example.

Inspiration truly does come in all shapes, sizes and forms – as evident from the stories shared with us by 25 Global Social Business Leaders. Their stories help us better understand how organizations are using social business practices to build a more engaged workforce and develop stronger, more collaborative relationships.
While diverse, all their stories embody personal journeys with one common thread: All of these leaders used social business strategies, technologies, and practices to make a significant impact on their business and community. Through the joint efforts of IBM and the EIU we were able to bring the stories of the 25 Inspiring Global Social Business Leaders to life – giving them a platform to be heard.
A look at how people think, feel and react to digital campaigns. How do people experience digital as architecture? How does emotion affect a medium that is both still and moving? And how can we utilise people's feelings and turn them into action?

think moto‘s subjective mid-year trend report for 2013
The first six months of 2013 are over - time for a brief review of what we've been engaged with so far this year. Usually, at the beginning of the year a couple of big agencies release their trend reports with forecasts for the upcoming year. We do it the other way round: after six month we look back at some projects and try to read off our subjective trends. »

The challenge will be, not to duplicate the offline ways of participation, but to find appropriate
translations for the digital age!
At the same time the sphere of activity has changed significantly. With mobile devices we now can realise a completly
different closness to communication. (Project Google Glass)
There will be a need for more competence in the array of data safety. Apps within the youthwork should lead an innovative
way in this topic. "Train on Mainstream" means to pull movments to the surface of society and take action: Think outside the
box! That is where the trends come touchable. This helps to open up the own sphere of action and extend the potential for
innovation: For new strategies, new tools and new cooperations.
With the web, european borders come closer together and become immediate. Software solutions have to consider this. The
challange is to produce more BETA-versions which place streams into solutions!
We began with forums which no one used. We lost the few ones that where dedicated to other topics. We didn`t give up. And
proceeded to develop on new ways of communication. We discovered content management systems. We discovered blogs. We
joined facebook. "To Do" is the strongest (crucial) force, whether it is Adhocracy, Pirate Bay or Thor: The own dedication ist the
key to power! Youth work lives from dedication, is a booster and revolutionary power. Concepts, software and hardware has to
realise "Doing" and "Doing" is at its best when it works without thinking, when it is intuitive. We need easy, intuitive systems,
which are connected, safe and focused on the content.
We don´t have to sorrow about our product like commercial vendors. Because our power is the growing up youth. We could
easily design better product lines and campaigns based on the real life of young people rather than on commercials - we just
need to make their results visible. Youth participation is as simple as that!
