Cellular Backhauling over Satellite: The Other Side of the CoinSmall Cell Forum
This document discusses cellular backhauling over satellite and compares legacy hub systems to a new system called SKYWAN. Some key points:
- Legacy hub systems have high delay, low throughput and are expensive for mobile operators. SKYWAN aims to be more efficient, high quality, flexible and future proof.
- SKYWAN uses statistical multiplexing to efficiently transport bursty traffic, allowing unused bandwidth to be shared across cells. This provides much higher overall throughput than legacy systems.
- A total cost of ownership analysis over 5 years shows SKYWAN costs significantly less than legacy hub systems, with savings increasing each year. SKYWAN also allows a more flexible "pay as you grow" model.
BGP is an inter-AS routing protocol used to exchange routing and reachability information between autonomous systems on the internet. It uses path vector routing rather than distance vector, and carries richer metric information than IGPs. BGP configurations establish neighbor relationships between routers in different ASes to exchange routing updates.
This document discusses advanced topics related to BGP routing protocols. It covers scaling iBGP to large networks using techniques like route reflectors and confederations. Route reflectors allow a network to be divided into clusters with designated routers reflecting routes between clusters, reducing the full iBGP mesh. This improves scaling by lowering configuration and resource overhead on each router. The document also examines how iBGP and the BGP decision process interact with the IGP to determine optimal routes and influence traffic flow.
BGP is an exterior gateway protocol that exchanges routing and reachability information between autonomous systems on the Internet. It makes routing decisions based on configured network policies and paths. As the routing protocol of the Internet, BGP is robust and scalable, connecting multiple private networks and autonomous systems globally.

Why the Internet of Things needs AI & interoperability to succeedNuance Communications
Gartner predicts 5.5 million new ‘things’ will be connected everyday this year. The challenge: non-intuitive interfaces, disconnected systems, and incompatible APIs mean we’ve not yet been able to unleash the greatest potential of this IoT-connected devices ecosystem. That’s why we need to innovate with interoperability in mind.
Real-Time Stock Market Analysis using Spark StreamingSigmoid
This document proposes using support vector machines (SVMs) to model high-frequency limit order book dynamics and predict metrics like mid-price movement and price spread crossing. It describes representing each limit order book entry as a vector of attributes, then using multi-class SVMs to build models for each metric. Experiments on real data show the selected features are effective for short-term price forecasts. The document provides background on SVMs, describing how they find an optimal separating hyperplane to classify data points into labels.
The document defines the Generic Attribute Profile (GATT) which specifies how data is exchanged over a Bluetooth Low Energy connection. GATT defines client and server roles, attributes containing user data identified by handles and types, and an attribute data hierarchy with characteristics and services. It provides an example of a GATT database view showing the arrangement of handles, types, permissions and values in a Bluetooth Low Energy connection.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

2 About OpenText Enterprise Connect and Office Editor
OpenText Enterprise Connect provides a seamless, interactive view of content and functionality from
many Enterprise systems. Using Enterprise Connect, you can work with content from various
repositories directly in the applications that you use on a daily basis, including Windows Explorer,
Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Lotus Notes, GroupWise, and Microsoft Office applications such as
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
Enterprise Connect consists of the following main components:
• The Enterprise Connect Framework
• Enterprise Connect Plug-ins
• Desktop Application Integrations
5. OpenText Enterprise Connect and Office Editor 10.3.1 Release Notes
5
The core Framework component is installed on all client systems that operate Enterprise Connect. It
manages the interaction between the plug-ins and the application integrations.
Enterprise Connect plug-ins enable Enterprise Connect users to interact with numerous enterprise
repositories simultaneously. Enterprise Connect has plug-ins for OpenText Content Server, amongst
others.
You can also build your own plug-ins to provide access to additional repositories. For more
information on the Enterprise Connect Server SDK, please contact your OpenText sales
representative.
Integrations enable users to work with Enterprise Connect through applications installed on their
desktop. During installation, you can choose the integrations you want to make available. Enterprise
Connect provides integrations with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook,
PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Excel, and with Windows Explorer. Each integration exposes
Enterprise Connect functionality in the application’s user interface. Developers can use the
Enterprise Connect client SDK to provide access to repository documents from any desktop
application.
OpenText Office Editor 10.3.1 is a new technology for Content Server and Enterprise Connect that
dramatically improves the users’ experience when editing documents. Office Editor offers users a
seamless, instant editing experience, providing the performance of editing files on a local hard drive
without installing any special add-ins to the application they are working in.
Office Editor first downloads documents to a managed user cache and then opens documents using
the registered application. The Office Editor powerful yet lightweight client handles all document
reserves, background uploads, and conflict resolutions. In addition, the desktop client enables users
to quickly search, edit, or synchronize their recently accessed documents.
Furthermore, the Office Editor desktop client enables users to edit documents in their cache whether
they are connected to the server or not. Office Editor ensures that all documents saved while users
are offline are automatically synchronized and uploaded to Content Server when connectivity is
restored.

3.3.1 Content Server Office Editor Admin Help
The following section explains how to use the Enable Installer Download check box on the Office
Editor Admin page. This feature is not currently documented in the Web Edit Administration online
help, but it will be added for the next release. The section also explains when users will be given the
option to use Content Server WebDAV to edit a document from the Content Server Web UI when the
Office Editor client is not installed.
Enabling Users to Install the Office Editor Client
To open or edit a document from the Content Server UI, users must have the current version of the
Office Editor client installed on their desktop. If they do not have the Office Editor client installed, or if
they are using an out-of-date version, they will receive a message indicating that they must install or
upgrade before they can proceed. Using the Enable Installer Download setting, you can specify how
the installation or upgrade is handled. If you enable this setting, users will receive a message
prompting them to install the current version of the Office Editor client. A link to the installer is included
in the message. This is the default setting. If you disable this setting, users will be prompted to contact
their administrator to obtain an updated version of the Office Editor client. You must then arrange the
installation for each user.
To enable users to install the Office Editor client:
1. On the Content Server Administration page, under Web Edit Administration, click
Configure Web Edit Settings.
2. In the Office Editor Settings area, do one of the following:
• Select the Enable Installer Download check box if you want users to install the Office
Editor client. This is the default setting.
• Clear the Enable Installer Download check box if you do not want users to be able to
install the Office Editor client.
3. Click Submit.
Using Content Server WebDAV for Editing when Office Editor Client Is Not Installed
If a user attempts to edit a document from the Content Server Web UI, and the Office Editor client is
not installed, a message will appear in some cases, giving the user the option to edit the document
using Content Server WebDAV. The message appears if the following conditions are met:
• WebDAV is installed.
• WebDAV supports the document’s MIME type for editing.
• WebDAV editing is enabled.

16. OpenText Enterprise Connect and Office Editor 10.3.1 Release Notes
16
Caution
OpenText recommends that you upgrade the Enterprise Connect
Framework Client and Module for Content Server components at the
same time, to ensure that users can access the latest features. If you
must perform the upgrade in stages, start by upgrading the module on
the server.
Important
OpenText recommends that the Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile
Version 4.0.30319 or higher be installed on the client machine.
Enterprise Connect installer will fail on earlier versions.
Important
OpenText recommends that you install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
SP1 Redistributable Package on client machines or the Preview Pane
will not render any documents. The redistributable can be downloaded
from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=2092 for 64-
bit operating systems or from http://www.microsoft.com/en-
us/download/details.aspx?id=5582 for 32-bit operating systems.
5.2 Installation Notes for the Office Editor Standalone Client.
All Office Editor 10.3.1 standalone client downloads can be found here.
The standalone Office Editor MSI installer will install all supported languages for
this version. Office Editor uses the configured operating system user locale to
determine which language to display. If the language is not supported, the
English version of Office Editor is used.
When Office Editor is installed as part of Enterprise Connect, the language of
Enterprise Connect will be used.
5.3 Installation Notes for Office Editor Module for Content Server
All Office Editor (Web Edit) 10.3.1 module downloads can be found here.
17. OpenText Enterprise Connect and Office Editor 10.3.1 Release Notes
17
The Office Editor module and the Web Edit module are the same component and should be treated
as such. The Web Edit module must be upgraded as part of the Enterprise Connect 10.3.1
installation using the standard Content Server module upgrade procedure.
Caution
The Enterprise Connect Module for Content Server 10.3.1 installer will
not run unless you have first installed and configured Office Editor 10.3
or Office Editor 10.3.1. OpenText recommends upgrading to Office
Editor to 10.3.1.
The new Office Editor 10.3.1 has a Content Server module component and a lightweight desktop
client. The Office Editor desktop client is bundled with the Enterprise Connect Framework install.
However, a separate MSI is available for those who do not want to use Enterprise Connect.
When upgrading the OpenText Office Editor (Web Edit) module from a previous version to version
10.3.1, you must remove the following patches from the patches directory after the upgrade.

Caution
The Enterprise Connect Module for Content Server 10.3.1 does not
require that the WebDAV module be installed. However, it is
recommended that you do not uninstall the WebDAV module because
other functionality of Content Server relies on it.
5.5 Enterprise Connect Framework Patches
Enterprise Connect 10.3.1 Patch 1 is available to download from the Knowledge Center. That patch
can be found here. Enterprise Connect patches are cumulative so there is no need to install previous
patches.
Important
An .msp and an .msi file are both provided for this patch. Which file you
use depends on which version of the Framework is installed on the client:
• If Enterprise Connect Framework 10.3.1 is already installed on
the client, use the .msp.
• If Enterprise Connect Framework 10.3.0 or earlier is installed on
the client, use the .msi. This will perform an upgrade installation
of the Framework to the 10.3.1 version including all patches up
to patch 1.
• If Enterprise Connect Framework is not yet installed on the client,
use the .msi. This will install the 10.3.1 version of the Framework
including patch 1.
