How to Create Change Easy/Quick steps for improving the quality of classroom atmosphere Handling confrontational situations Overview for this session:
You cannot force someone to change Change your behavior or your response People react differently due to your change Think about what exact behaviors are a detriment to your classroom atmosphere Create Change
Begin positively Communicate your basic rules clearly and succinctly Include those basic rules on your syllabus  Remind students to be respectful of their fellow classmates End positively Improving Classroom Atmosphere
Decide on a course of action that is within your comfort zone Turn it into a “teachable moment” Address the behavior….no personal attacks Remind students that they do not have the right to interfere with someone else’s ability to learn Be prepared to take the next step Confrontational Situations
