The students will work in groups to create a questionnaire about the last three units in their English book. They will ask questions about different feelings like hopes, fears, regrets, anger and happiness. The groups will discuss and improve each other's questions. Then the students will ask their questions to classmates and compare answers within their group. They will also give the questionnaire to younger and older people and compare those results. Finally, the groups will present their findings and discuss reasons for different answers from age groups.

Students appear generally open to sharing and participating in peer-feedback, though experience with implementation is mixed (as seen in the end of semester survey results). Modeling and training before implementation is recommended (I should have done more). Mixing partners is also recommended so that learners experience a variety of feedback styles from various peers.

Cory Stutts has worked since 2007 at Catherine Cook School, an independent Preschool-8 independent school in downtown Chicago. Cory is currently Head of the Middle School. Since 2008 when Catherine Cook joined the Ethical Literacy Learning Community, their focus has been systemic and grounded in professional development. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

First, look at the different ways to ask a question about ‘crying’.
Which do you like best, and why?
Choose one ‘feeling’ from the following: hopes, fears, regrets, anger and happiness.
Write a question about your feeling.
Give suggestions on how to improve the questions, until each of you has a list of the his/her
questions.
Use your questionnaire
Ask your questions to as many classmates as you can.
Get back in your own group and compare your answers.
Compare with different ages.
For homework, give your questionnaire to at least one younger person and one older person.
Make a note of their answers.
Compare results and discuss
Present your findings to the rest of your group.
Discuss reasons for the different answers given by different age groups.
Share your results with the rest of the class.
