A few years ago, I found myself at a local coffee shop for a poetry slam. It was around the same
time that I was trying to come to terms with life without my grandmother. She had been in the

poetry slam between my regular visits to the hospital, school, and other commitments.
Nevertheless, I still found myself before the coffee shop entrance. The aroma and warmth from

The Columbian Exchange The Columbian Exchange is non fiction book written by Alfred W.
Crosby JR. It illustrates the important events that transpired when Columbus came to America in
1492. I initially chose this this book because I wanted to know more about Europe s effects on
America, and how Columbus altered the flora and fauna of America for better and for worse. As I
started to read further into the book I immediately was captivated by all the information that was
hidden within the text. The book started out by contrasting the Columbian Exchangeto the early
human migrationsand early land bridges. I believe this is especially important because, it gave e a
better understanding of how early humans developed a pattern and a need to explore new lands.
This quote states, The connection between the Old and New Worlds, which for more than ten
millennia had been no more than a tenuous thing of Viking voyages, drifting fishermen, and

of speech acts build, remain and/or change the master and interactional identity of Caitlyn Jenner

Abstract
This paper explores the 2004 Lions Gate film Crash and the microaggressions that occur to and
between the characters in the movie. The film follows the interweaving lives of several characters
living in Los Angeles as they deal with racism, discrimination, relationships, and loss. Throughout
the film, the characters also begin to come to terms with their own biases and prejudices. The
author of this paper includes the three major types of microaggressions displayed in the film:
microassault, microinsult, and microinvalidation, describes how they occurred, and the effect these
microaggressions had on the victims. Possible counseling implications for each microaggression for
both the perpetrator and the victim are discussed. Throughout this paper, the author s personal

The Movie Crash Assignment In 2004, Lionsgate Films released the movie Crash to critical
acclaim. The film takes place in modern day Los Angeles and shines a light on the racial and social
