Introduction
This material is intended to reinforce the topics studied, it
presents an extension of the language functions and structures presented in
class, as well as a series of vocabulary used in different contexts to contribute
to student´s increase of lexicon. Students will have the opportunity to
demonstrate their ability to understand written and spoken English, as well as

This is my story:
Last Saturday, my best friend and I went to
the new restaurant in La Zona Rosa, we asked for
some pupusas and we were talking about our
friends. The food seemed to be delicious, so we
started to eat and, it´s incredible but I ate 12
pupusas and my friend only ate 5. Next day I woke up in the hospital.
The pupusas were delicious, but I felt a terrible stomachache and I thought that I was

The quality of life depends upon the food you eat. That is why it is important to know the kind of food
you take to your mouth.
Some kind of food is prepared with a lot of
saturated fats which is not good for your body. Some
diseases are caused by consuming fast food, the
worst result could be a heart attack that can finish
with your life and this is produced by the bad dietary
habits you have. So you should better try to follow an
adequate diet. For example try to have five

REASONS TO AVOID JUNK FOOD
Eating junk food creates an excess of fat in your organism
and it destroys the natural balance in your body creating obstacles
for the veins. Fat people tend to feel tired most of the time and loss
of weight is not easy to reach, especially for the people who
consume junk food every day, such as hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza,
soda, among others. Doctors recommend eating natural food like
fruits and vegetables to help our system to keep a balance, live
healthy and longer. Another recommendation is to practice sports or at least walk 10-
15 minutes daily.

Barcelona is one the best soccer teams in the world, it is a Spanish team and its
traditional rival is Real Madrid, every year there is a war among these teams and the
people go crazy every time they meet. Barcelona has excellent soccer players from all
over the world as well as Madrid. When I was 16 years old I used to play with my partners in the
school, now I am studying in the university and I don´t have enough time to go out
with my friends, because our teachers assign a lot of homework and the only day I
can go to play with my neighbors is on Sunday, we practice in the soccer field of
our community and we enjoy together, because our friends go to see the match, it is
not like Barcelona or Real Madrid, but we fun!!

Practicing sports has a lot of benefits
for your body and mind, let’s see some of them:
The first benefit is that your muscles are stronger, a second benefit is that
your blood pressure tends to stabilize and flow in every single part of your
body, a third example is that your mind works faster due to the speed you have to perform, a fourth
benefit is that you keep in shape, a fifth benefit is that you reinforce the relationship with your friends,
a sixth benefit is that learn to be disciplined, because practicing a sport requires self-discipline.
There are different sports you can practice, some of them can be accomplished alone like yoga,
swimming, cycling, running; some other need two people; such as chess, and finally there are some
