AMH 2097 Paper 2
The White Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASPs) have been at the top of the social hierarchy ever
since they arrived to America in the 1600s. The first wave of immigration consisted of the
Germans, Irish and Chinese. The WASPs created a way to measure the success of each immigrant
group. They acknowledged four factors of success that would show them whether an immigrant
group was successful or not. The first factor of success was how much money an immigrant had
when they came to America. The more money they came to America with, the more successful they
were. Another factor of an immigrant s success was how large the group they came with was. The
larger the group, the less respect and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through their settlement, they proved to the WASPs that they were capable of functioning in
society without disturbing the WASPs at all.
The WASPs also respected the Germans because the Germans were Protestant. The Germans also
proved that they were extremely hardworking. They created many businesses, some of which still
exist today. The Germans also brought over foods such as hot dogs, apple pie, and pretzels.
Furthermore, the Germans came in quite small numbers, which the WASPs definitely appreciated.
The Germans did not have to assimilate and live on their own, without the WASPs having to take
care of them. Finally, the Germans were relatively welcomed when they arrived to America. The
only stereotype given to them was a positive one, claiming that they were the model immigrants
that every other immigrant group should aspire to be like. All in all, the six million Germans who
came to the United States during the first wave were well liked by the WASPs and had a successful
and smooth immigration into America.
Arguably the least successful immigrant group that arrived to America was the Irish. When the
Irish landed in the United States, the WASPs immediately disliked them. First off, the Irish came
over with barely any money, which indicated to the WASPs that they were unsuccessful and
unintelligent. The Irish came over to America in tightly packed ships called coffin ships. They
were called coffin ships because 1/5 of the Irish died on

Medical Physiology
It s cold, lifeless body lay in front of me in a metal tray as my body hovered over it. The body was
stiff; unmoving, as it reeked of formaldehyde.
But let s not start there, lets go back a little. It was my fourth year at Michigan Tech s Summer
Youth Programs. This year I chose to take Medical Physiology. I wonder when I m getting my
degree, I comically thought to myself with a snicker. Medical Physiology was delightfully fun
actually, learning about the different bones in our body and different systems. Although it was
mostly a result of all the dissections we were doing. Which we were in the middle of one right now.
The pale mink lay in front of six people, unaware of what horrors it s body is going to be going
through in death. I felt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another group next to us was attempting to cut the skull open to examine what the brain looked like.
We should try that too! A group member chimed in.
No! Yelled myself and a few other members.
That s so cruel! How about we just do not do something that horrible? There was a unison of all
right s and the dissection continued, without us cutting into his skull.
As the dissection headed toward its end, we inspected and identified his organs. We took out his
heart, liver, and intestines. Laying them out on the tray and taking out some more. Wow, I could go
for some noodles right now, I contemplated to myself, making plans on getting some Fettuccine
Alfredo once dinner rolled around.
Once fully done we cleaned up and talked amongst ourselves. The South Korean kids talked to
their friends and I talked to Mary and Minshik.
So you watch, he began as he pointed to my Attack On Titan shirt.

Synthesis Lab
Introduction: The purpose of this lab was to utilize roasting, smelting, spectroscopy, and the
carbonate test in order to determine the identity of an unknown copper mineral. I determined that
the most useful of these tests in determining the mineral was roasting because it provides a fairly
accurate percent composition of copper in the unknown mineral.
Results: The purpose of performing the variety of tests that we did was to give more accurate
results of what the unknown mineral was. By roasting the copper mineral, we obtained copper(II)
oxide. This new sample came out of the crucible grayish black. It was very brittle and full of cracks.
This provided the percent composition that was necessary in finding the unknown mineral. When
performing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The small sample fell apart after the roasting process, making it hard to separate from the charcoal.
Also, I think allowing more time to let all the copper(II) oxide be smelted would have increased
the accuracy of our results.

Designed by Cugnot and constructed by M. Brezin, it is also the first vehicle to move under its
own power for which there is a record. Cugnot s three wheeled steam powered vehicle carried
four persons and was meant to move artillery pieces. It had a top speed of a little more than 3.2
km/h (2 mph) and had to stop every 20 minutes to build up a fresh head of steam. Evans was the
first American who obtained a patent for a self propelled carriage. He, in fact, attempted to
create a two in one combination of a steam wagon and a flat bottomed boat, which didn t receive
any attention in those days. During the 1830 s, the steam vehicle had made great advances. But
stiff competition from railway companies and crude legislations in Britain forced the poor
steam vehicle gradually out of use on roads. The early steam powered vehicles were so heavy
that they were only practical on a perfectly flat surface as strong as iron. A road thus made out of
iron rails became the norm for the next hundred and twenty five years. The vehicles got bigger
and heavier and more powerful and as such they were eventually capable of pulling a train of many

Social Media And Local Media
We will start our campaign in the beginning of June till the end of September in 2017. Our main
goal is to reach 1000 millennials in the Fort Worth area in those four months.
We re going to be doing a lot of advertisements throughout radio broadcasting, local news in the
DFW area, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Our goal is use social media and local media to captivate people attention to our fundraiser. We are
also using these types of media because they are a daily use to most people and is a useful and time
effective way to create a buzz for this fundraiser.

And lastly, use newspaper that offers local popular restaurants and events to reach both primary and
secondary markets. We will partner with the newspaper to use their statistics on their paper to track
the success.
The second objective was created was to generate awareness by 5 percent of the total millennial
population in the Fort Worth area from June 1, 2017 until September 29, 2017. The Young
Professionals Association will hold many events throughout the summer months to generate
awareness for Lena Pope. YPA will hold an 80 s art contest where they get a chance to get their
art displayed at Rock the Fort. Millennials would be targeted through many bars in Fort Worth and
through organizations throughout Texas Christian University campus. The success of the contest
will be monitored through the number of those who sign up for the contest. The participants will
have to sign up for Lena Pope s mailing list in order to participate. This will make it easier to
measure the success and see the involvement towards the organization. Additionally, we will offer a
free entrance done through radio call in. Reach the millennial population and secondary target
market of 30 to 40 year olds in the Fort Worth area. This will also be measured through the
cooperation with the radio stations who give us the complete number of those who tried to call.
Also, YPA will start a free yoga class in Fort Worth. The yoga class will be managed

Research Paper On Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela: Man with a Motivation A man of true influence was born on July 18, 1918 in
Mvezo, South Africa and was born into the royal Mandela name. His father was the sub chief to the
king of the Thembu, and the influential man s name was Nelson Mandela, which would be a name
that would resonate throughout the world. Life for Mandela was hard at times, but through the
difficulties came a striving motivation to make his life and the lives of others better. Due to Nelson
Mandela s imprisonments, politics, and apartheid involvement, a strong motivation and lasting
legacy of leading by example was brought forth. For twenty seven years, prison was home for
Nelson Mandela. After the white supremacist party won South Africas election in 1948, a
constitution was formed that was known to be racist towards black. That brought uprising which
Mandela was a part of, since he was a black male with limited rights. Through early protesting,
Mandela made sure his voice was heard, and it was heard so much that the law officials started to

original five year sentence was increased to life in prison, which would not last since after
twenty seven years he was released. On that release day, headlines were made and Mandela gave
a heartfelt speech. According Mandela s speech titled Nelson Mandela Speech Upon Release, he
stated, On this day of my release, I extend my sincere and warmest gratitude to the millions of
my compatriots and those in every corner of the globe who have campaigned tirelessly for my

Anti-Gliadin Case Studies
This study was conducted to confirm weather or not gluten sensitivity is a marker in patients with
neurological illness. Anti Gliadin antibodies are produced to counter react gliadin, a protein
commonly found in bread. These antibodies are also an indicator of untreated coeliac disease within
some patients that have been studied. Since neurological dysfunctions are usually directly
associated with coeliac disease, the case study was conducted to show that a gluten intolerance
would be common in patients that have a neurological disorder of unknown cause. Data was
obtained in patients with known causes of neurological disorders, unknown causes of neurological
disorders and healthy patients to see the difference of anti gliadin antibody count in bloodsamples.

Out of the 30 from group 1 that tested positive for antibodies, one patient had a IgA deficiency,
another was anemic and one more had low vitamin B12. All three of the patients tested positive for
coeliac disease, however the other 27 patients had no issues with malabsorption. It was also found
that patients with neurological dysfunctions of unknown cause not only had a high frequency of
anti gliadin antibodies, but also had a higher frequency of individuals who had coeliac disease. The
results of antibody screening for group one was significantly higher than that of groups consisting
of neurological dysfunctions of known cause or the healthy control group. Another important aspect
of the study was the alternative hypothesis, given that anti gliadin antibodies are directly involved
in the neuropathological process and are indicators of autoimmune activity with unidentified
antibody presence to be toxic. From the information obtained in the experiment, the hypothesis that
gluten sensitivity will be common in patients with neurological diseases of unknown cause will be

Situs Inversus
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there are approximately three million
babies born in the United States each year (Martin et al.). While there is always risk that a baby
could have any number of health conditions, one rarely occurring condition is situs inversus. Situs
refers to the position of an organ, with situs solitus being the ordinary arrangement of organs
(Dictionary). Situs inversus is when the organs in the chest and abdomen are mirrored, or opposite,
of where their ordinary location should be. This is a unique genetic condition that affects 1 in
10,000 babies born each year ( 15 Incredible Situs Inversus Statistics ). While situs inversus is the
general term used, there are three subtypes of the condition that can occur: dextrocardia, levocardia
and ambiguous. The two main subtypes of situs inversus are dextrocardia and levocardia, with the
third subtype being situs ambiguous. The differences between the two main subtypes are based on
the position of the heart. If the heart is still on the left side yet the rest of the organs are flipped, it
is considered situs inversus with levocardia. However, if the heart is on the right side instead of
the left, along with the rest of the organs being flipped, it is considered situs inversus with
dextrocardia, also known as situs inversus totalis, or a true mirror image . Of the two, levocardia
is the most rare, with an occurrence rate of only 1 in 22,000 births ( 15 Incredible

Summary Of Italo CalvinoThe Adventure Of A Skier
As time passes, the world moves in a faster pace than ever, creating more chaos and instability
than ever for the individual. Everything, from sports to academics to achievements became a
race, and people start to lose themselves and their identities in this competitive world. Society is
now run by technology, where everything connects to each other. This new lifestyle can hinder
people from stepping out of society s bubble to have true self discovery. In this fast paced world,
people are stripped from the opportunity to step back and live a simplistic lifestyle, and are usually
condemned by many. Only recently, individuals have discovered this missing piece of inner peace
within themselves and activities such as yoga and fasting drastically increased, especially within
the millennial population. Also, terms about serenity from different religions such as yin yang, Om,
and Atman have popularized into a modern day fads and fashions. In his short story, The Adventure
of a Skier, Italo Calvinouses simplistic, repetitive diction to create a methodical tone that
ultimately suggests that isolation and self determination can help one find inner tranquility in
this world of chaos. The modern day lifestyle has a sense of hastiness of it that bears a burden to
the people. Calvino uses the contrasting ideas of heaviness and hastens to lightness. In the
beginning of this narrative, Calvino describes the disorder and impetuosity of something as
simple as standing in a line. That flurry of small disjointed gestures coursed through the line and
became frenzied at the front, gives the largest importance to the smallest details to increase the
disorder of this scene (Calvino, 1). The narrator uses words such as flurry, disjointed, and
frenzied to emphasize on the feeling of disarray (Calvino, 1). The simplistic diction ironically
amplifies the chaos. From the beginning to the end of this short story, the leading character is
referred as sky blue girl, without any other identity (Calvino, 1). She is always described to be
graceful in a condensed way. All her movements were as simple as possible and perfectly suited to
her person; she never exaggerated by a centimeter, never showed a hint of agitation or

Why Talent Management Is The Key Items For Win The War For...
Strategic Issues to be addressed to win the war for talent
Talent management is the core to win the war for talent . It is more than just recruitment and
selection of people for a company. At strategic level, it is also about decisions and its human
capital implications. Given below are broad areas which need to be managed and addressed in
order to have an effective talent management.
Talent Strategy and Planning The challenge is in clearly determining the strategic objectives,
business plan and their impact on people. It is important to determine and establish human capital
needs and have a well defined demand / supply forecasting capability. HR leadership needs to be
absolutely and positively be involved in developing these strategy and plans. A best in class talent
management strategy should address the following 7 key items
Keeping the end game in mind
Type of talent that the business needs
Identify the talent gaps
Identifying high potentials
Assessing readiness for leadership transitions
Accelerating development
Focusing and driving performance
Recruiting critical talent This requires assessing the talent pool options. Analyzing sourcing
Infrastructure Internal / external. Exercising the various sourcing channels like social media, job
portals, etc. Lack of quality information on the candidate is a challenge, in spite of using the best
interviewing skills, referrals, etc. Assessing soft skills and adaptability to the company culture is

No Easy Way Out
The war between capital punishment and life without parole is an ongoing debate being waged
between the states. Capital Punishment, or the death penalty, is the process by which an individual
is put to death by the state for a capital offense, whereas life without parole is when a capital
offender is sentenced to a life behind bars with no opportunity for freedom. The choice to adopt or
abolish capital punishmentis up to each state, and it is the state s verdict to determine if capital
punishment is unjust or not. I do not believe in the capital punishment for four very important
reasons: to execute an inmate the humane and correct way costs more than a lifetime in prison, it is
not a deterrent for crime, the innocent may be wrongly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The FBI has found that states that enforce the death penalty have a higher murder rate than those
who have abolished it. I believe we should increase the number of police officers, reduce drug
abuse, and improve our economy so that it has more jobs to lower the rate of crime in our
nation, not kill people who want to be killed (Hugo). On occasion, the judicial system is found of
unlawfully accusing innocent victims to life without parole and have sent them to Death Row.
Studies have shown that since 1992, fifteen inmates on Death Row have been set free for being
proven innocent. Such a high number indicates a high possibility that more inmates may be
exonerated in the future for crimes they did not commit. No person should be put to death in that
manner, I would rather them be forced to suffer an eternity in a minute, confined cell with nothing
than for them to be put down. DNA advances are being made to allow scientists and law
enforcement officers to better determine the responsible party for each case, and so those wrongly
accused may get a reprieve from their sentence to be set free (Crime Library). These are only a few
of the several reasons that capital punishment should not be implemented into our jail system, but
there must be some upsides to this cruel punishment, right? Prison systems across the nation are
growing ever more crowded by the year.

Citizenship, Religion and Society Policy of the United...
Citizenship, Religion and Society Policy of the United Kingdom Introduction Religion affects the
way in which one of the majority of the world s population structures people live. Many mainstream
institutional religions have experienced declining membership, retains power to influence systems
of ethnics and morality. Also, religion has a strong connection with integration and migration.
Therefore, Europe differs considerably in their responses toward integration and migration related
diversity (Simpson, 235). This is reflected for instance in the time duration with which immigrants
can apply for and receive permanent residence and citizenship status. Currently, Switzerland (12
years), Greece and Austria (10 years) are the most difficult countries to obtain citizenship whereas
Ireland, the Netherlands and France (five years) have relatively fewer barriers (Lebrun, pg. 144).
In England, the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act of 2009 requires a residential status of
eight years before being eligible for naturalization. It also introduced a voluntary community service
for migrants that can reduce the length of the naturalization process by up to two years (Faas, 143).
In this article, it is considered how national identity and citizenship, and understanding of the
geography of religion in the U. K, by Europe and migration related diversity, are intertwined at
political level and what implications there are for future curriculums development. Regional Setting

For me I don t have an inherent problem with characters that are just plain awful, I can
appreciate them as such but in most cases the way these types of characters are written doesn t
always stand out to me and in worse cases the narrative tries to force me to sympathize with them
instead of letting me feel for myself. Looking at Merteuil character on paper, you d almost want
to describe her as brutal and maybe even unsympathetic yet Douglas manages to give layers to
this character that weren t just an evil hard ass but showed a human side to her that had pain and
a soul that was damaged while maintaining that fierce persona. One of my personal favorite
moments from the play was when she explains to Valmont that main source of power women of
her time have the withholding of sex while Men Can ruin us whenever the fancy takes you. She

Analysis Of The Royal Australian Air Force Incident, Swiss...
Introduction
This essay tries to describe three accident prevention models (Domino Model, Swiss Cheese
Model, System Theoretic Accident Model and Processes (STAMP)) and discuss the advantages
and disadvantages of each model in effective accident prevention at work place. The essay will
also review Hopkins? analysis of the Royal Australian Air force incident and use the Swiss Cheese
Model to analyse the incident to identify if the Swiss Cheese Model provide different findings, or
fail to identify findings, when compared to Hopkins? analysis.
1 Domino Model
One of the earliest accident prevention models which was proposed by Heinrich in 1950. This
theory illustrates five chronological accident factors, likened to a series of dominoes. It is ... Show

Thus, Domino model is suitable for relatively simple system where unsafe work behaviours and
hazards are the main focus.
This model was also successful in limiting relatively simple type of incidents. The result of the
research around human behaviour in an organisational context reveals that 88% of accidents are due
to unsafe work behaviours. However, this result emphasise that strategic program should include
data gathered from other field, such as industrial and organisational behaviour for promoting safety
culture within the system. In addition, as there is only a single triggering factor that leads to an
accident, it is rather more straightforward to control and prevent the cause or impose
recommendation (Health and Safety Professional Alliance,2012).
Disadvantages
The major downside with Domino model is falling into two main groups 1 there is a single cause
that trigger the incident and 2 there is always sequence in subsequent events that lead to an accident.
In real fact, majority of complex accidents always have multiple contributing factors. The accident
is more complex than single, individual error and we need to consider accident in relation to
management and organisation entirely. Montara Commission of inquiry is an example of such
complex accident. Montara oil spill disaster has happened as a result of poor control management,
lack of competency among personnel and system failures as well. These multiple casual

Social Networks And The Field Of Social Network Essay
Nowadays, information can easily be accessed through multiple channels such as search engines,
emails, and social networks. The rapid innovations innovations in technology contributes to the
increasing social network usage, wherein users can now access them through their mobile devices
(Yakushev Mityagin, 2014). A report shows that a Filipinos averagely use social networking
services for 4.3 hours a day, which ranks Philippines as the second country with the most hours
spent on social networks (Castro, 2015). The large amounts of social networkdata generated by
users has fuelled studies to be conducted on this area. This project can be beneficial for researchers
who are working on the field of social network mining.
In addition, this project can also provide insights to individuals or organizations who are interested
regarding social network user behaviour.
2. Background
Social network behaviour of the users can be complex to understand due to the amount of users
who are engaging in multiple social networking activities(DAvanzo Pilato, 2015). In order to attract
the attention of a particular demographic or any group based on interest, it is highly essential to
come up with a meaningful and interesting data . One approach is to examine and use the trending
data, however, there can be duplicated data in the trends. This can yield a negative result since too
much redundant data is not any more meaningful and interesting to the target group. This project

Teens And Teen Pregnancy
As us females were young we all seem to become mothers, by playing with dolls, and playing
house with others our age. It may be easy for us to say that as children we thought they needed
some assistance, but in reality that was only our imagination. As little kids did we really think
about what it would be like to really have a baby? We were children, but see the thing here is that
teens are still children who are having other children. 16 year olds do not just wake up thinking
they want to have a baby, most of the time it just happens without being planned. Teens often do
not think about what life would be like as a parent which is easy to happen and we should be
informed on the reasons why and what it really is like. The first reason why a girl can easily get
pregnant is not being informed about contraceptives. There are about 1,700 school based health
centers nationwide in which about в…“ provide contraceptives. Sexual education is very
important when it comes to this, there are states that still require parents to sign off their children
receiving any sexual education in schools, in which many of the cases the parents and their kids
are too embarrassed to talk about. Although it is the parent s responsibility to talk about it, they do
not. When a teen is sexually active, it is important for them to let a parent know, so that they can
get checked. Another possible reason can be unwanted sex. According to Teenhelp.com four in ten

Framingham Flange Factory Case Summary
Subject: The evaluation of the possible consequences of a mistake regarding the proposed
acquisition of the Framingham Flange Factory. The purpose of this memo is to evaluate and
analyze the risk associated with Harry s proposal. In this memo, I will discuss the potential
consequences of a mistake related to Harry s decision in order to provide him accurate
information so that he can make a wise decision. Now, I would like to clarify the concept of
acquisition, which is defined as the process performed by a company when making operational
control of another. The decision regarding the acquisition is fundamental for the acquiring firm,
therefore; it should be done after a proper research and a deep analysis. In this case, the decision
is taken faster than normal without an accurate assessment. The cash flows and growth rate have
been calculated based on a projected value made by Mr Harry and Mr Jack. This is a wrong step
since Harry could not take the Framingham s own estimate; he needs to make a self evaluation.
Respectfully Harry, I think that your calculations regarding Framingham Flange Factory are over

The Devil s Arithmetic And Comparison Essay
The Devil s Arithmetic Compare/Contrast Essay The Devil s Arithmetic teaches us countless
lessons throughout both forms of publishing. Each form however has a different lesson and
develops them in different ways. The book differentiates from the movie in numerous ways. In both
the book and the movie there are many similarities, but there is still diversity. Each form of media
develops their individual themes differently because that makes it more apparent for the viewers to
understand and absorb.
Jane Yolenwrote The Devil s Arithmetic with the main theme about remembering what
happened, sacrifices, and honoring those who died. Hannah Stern ,a 13 year old girl, is tired of
remembering and doesn t want to go to the Seder. Hannah faces a dream that seems like reality
where she learns what happened in Concentration Camps to the Jews. She learns that she must
remember what happened to the Jews and she learns about sacrifice and honoring the dead. After
waking from her dreams she realizes she must remember the Holocaust, honor the dead Jews, and
stay true to her religion. The Devil s Arithmetic film was made in 1999 based on the book written
by Jane Yolen. The movie highlights the horror and dismay the Jews faced in the camps. Hannah
the main character faces the disheartening nature of these camps in her dream which feels like
reality to her. Hannah learns about the Holocaust and what happens if you were in the camps
during the Holocaust while in her dream and she learns to

Enriching English Instruction Essay
Despite the rapidly shrinking budgets for arts programs and the growing de emphasization of
English as a relevant field of study, the lessons learned and taught in English classrooms still forms
the foundation of learning throughout a student s academic career. For most American students the
English language will serve as the lens through which they view other subjects, and reading
comprehension will be the tool that lets them learn from those subjects. Without an adequate
foundation in such a core subject, students are simply thrown into the water and even if they
manage to swim, we cannot reasonably expect them to enjoy being in the water (Brown Broemmel,
2011). Effective instruction in English and Language Arts, then, should be... Show more content on

As such it should be included at every possible opportunity. For example, in introducing the themes
of the Scarlet Letter, a traditional teacher might ask students what they know about the pilgrims or
puritans on whom the book is centered. That question will primarily provoke a few rehearsed and
regurgitated responses dominated by pre existing cultural ideas and stereotypes that will not
provide any deeper connection to the text and its ideas. A teacher using deep scaffolding would
focus the discussion on the students, perhaps asking questions about their own experiences with
ostracism or violating cultural and community standards. Rather than reciting a Peanut s
Thanksgiving special, students are encouraged to connect their own experiences to Hester Prynne
s. Broemmel and Brown s proposal of deep scaffolding was born out of meeting the needs of
English language learners, who are frequently at a cultural and skill based disadvantage in English
and Language Arts classrooms. However their research showed that many of the instructional
practices that help ELLs understand can also support NSEs (Broemmel Brown). This insight allows
deep scaffolding to serve as a valuable instructional model to which an adventurous teacher can add
a much larger variety of enriched instructional techniques. Vocabulary instruction, generally seen as
the refuge of boring lists and rote memorization, is one such place where a focus

1.1.Motivation
The topic of this project is hardware implementation of communication platform for consensus
based control in power systems. Because of the capacity of existing electric power distribution is
nearly full, it is a trend to develop grid technology and enhance the intelligent level of power system
[1]. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate and coordinate distributed generation (DG) effectively.
Development of smart grid is becoming a popular and inevitable trend. The development of
distributed generation has changed the traditional mode of power supply and utilization. And
intelligent control of electrical devices can minimize the power consumption and reduce the
operating cost. It is much economic and energy conservation.
However, there is a factor that limits the present implementation of existing hierarchical control in
smart grid. Because the voltage in each DG s terminal is different, the accuracy of reactive power
sharing is low [2]. Based on this problem, this project

Pro Choice Vs. Pro-Abortion
All I m going to say is there is a difference between pro choice and pro abortion. Pro choice is
understanding that you have no control over what another woman does with her body. Pro
choice is understanding that people make their own decisions based on their life. Pro choice is not
necessarily approving of abortion, it s allowing people to make decisions, which is why it s called
pro CHOICE. If you are pro life, you are saying an unborn fetus is equivalent in value as a born
child. If a fire was destroying a building which an unborn fetus and a living baby we re trapped
inside, and you could only save one, which one would you choose? A pro life person would find it

Erikson s Stages Of Psychosocial Development
Rachel Getting Married is a movie about a drug addict who s coming home from rehab to attend
her sister s wedding. The main character s name is Kim. In the movie, she is shown to have
many issues going on, ranging from an incomplete stage of Erikson s to symptoms of depression.
Throughout the movie, she goes through many emotional turmoils and drama, which changes her
behavior. Section A: Erikson s stages of Psychosocial Development includes trust vs. mistrust,
autonomy vs shame and doubt, initiative vs. guilt, competence vs. inferiority, identity vs. role
confusion, intimacy vs. isolation, generativity vs. stagnation, and integrity vs. despair. All of
these stages serve as a foundation for the next, and as a basis for how their personality will
develop. In the movie, Rachel Getting Married, Kim shows a lot of mistrust towards people,
especially her family, which may have started when she was a baby to the age of one. Trust vs.
mistrust is when infants learn basic trust for parents. When they see that their basic needs have
been fulfilled they start to trust, rely and depend on that parent. Unfortunately, it might ve been
that Kim has an incomplete stage because Kim s mother hasn t been around. Without her mother
being around, their wasn t a mother figure in her life, therefore she doesn t trust people as much.
This could serve as to why she turned to drugs as a source of releasing her stress. Since her mother

Life Of The Blessed Emperor Constantine Analysis
It is evident that Constantine played a pivotal role in strengthening the relationship between Rome
and Christianity as he helped facilitate the spread of Christianity on a grander scale compared to
other emperors who followed. Eusebius makes this clear in his excerpt The Life of the Blessed
Emperor Constantine by portraying Constantine as a devout Christian who believed that God can
help him restore Rome to its original glory. During this time, Rome exited the crisis of the third
century characterized by numerous foreign incursions and domestic strife which left the Roman
empirein shambles (McKay et al. 167). Constantine rose to the occasion to help rebuild the
shattered empire. Through his conversion he was able to find a cause for... Show more content on

of the Blessed Emperor Constantine, Eusebius depicted Constantine s realization that ...of the many
emperors who had preceded him, those who had rested their hopes in a multitude of gods,... met
with an unhappy end (18; bk 1, ch. XXVII). Eusebius made it clear that Constantine realized that
the pagan emperors met their demise, thus he changed his approach and believed that Christianity
and God would help save the empire from ruin. Emperor Diocletian denounced Christianity and
urged people to accept his divine authority which was given to him by the Roman gods (Smarr
January 25, 2017). This combined with the creation of buildings denouncing Christianity led to
numerous revolts against Diocletian s rule (Smarr January 25, 2017). This paved a path for
Christianity s takeover of the Roman empire. Thus, for a short period of time it seemed as if the
relationship between Christianity and Rome was deteriorating, but with Constantine initiating the
acceptance of Christianity and Theodosius making it the religion of the empire in 380, it became
the most important religion in the Roman empire (McKay et al.

The Education System Of Saudi Arabia, Us, And World Economy
Report for 2014 states that there are more than 110,000 Saudi students enrolled in American
universities. The influx is primarily triggered by the scholarship program introduced by King
Abdullah, which allows qualified students to attend higher education in the United States with their
tuition fee, schoolexpenses, and health insurance paid for by the government. The same is also
attributed by the fact that thirteen of the top universities in the world are in the United States

Discussion
The conditions in universities accepting international students need considerable attention. The
reason students go abroad to study is very clear through world class education, these students will
turn into valuable human assets of their country. They benefit their host country financially,
contributing the largest portion of the billions of dollars earned by the US each academic year
(Wilson, 2011). Internationalization of students also promote global understanding by adding
cultural diversity to campuses, and by facilitating better relations between the US and their home
country. On the other hand, completing a four or five year degree in an unfamiliar environment,
and being exposed to an education system that is very distinct from the one they are used to, do not
come about easily for the Saudi students.
Comparing the Education System between the US and Saudi Arabia The differences in the
education system implemented in the US and Saudi Arabia can be best compared by discussing the
role of their governments in education, and the academic cultures that the students from these two
countries are

The Role Of Framing In News Media
Framing is something that has been for hundreds of years. This is the way in which certain
topics and issues are talked about to try to influence the way we think about an issue. This type
of framing is seen on news media every day. Different types of news media may report on issues
in different way depending on what the issue is. The framing can be really subtle with the use of
different words that can portray two completely different meanings. The issue I will be talking
about is immigration and how immigrants are reported in contrasting type of media. Immigration
over the last years has become an increasing talking point in politics today. The left and right have
contrasting ideas on what should be done about illegal immigration. News media... Show more

Right leaning sources, like Bill O Reilly, Fox News and many republican politicians, often refer to
unlawful immigrants as illegal. This type of frame has a negative connotation for immigrants. An
immigrant may be seen as more of a criminal. It s interesting to note that this type of usage of the
word is unique to immigration. Drivers that violate the law are never called illegal drivers . This
type of frame makes the issue seem more of a cut and dry issue of illegal and legal. Immigration
this way becomes a black and white issue. So if one is called an illegal immigrant then he must be
a criminal. The expression invites for the easy use of the word criminal. Many articles that use this
word also seem to tend to use the word criminal. The word criminal then has an even stronger
negative connotation than illegal. The connection between those two words become even stronger
when illegal is used as a noun. The noun illegals is only used for immigrants and not any other
crime. The connection, thus may be stronger. When it s used as noun the term makes it more of an
attack on the person rather than the actions of

I aim to explain the drug development process, to explore the legal and ethical implications
associated with wrongful off label prescribing, and provide my recommendations for reform of
the pharmaceutical industry. I will consistently refer to the GlaxoSmithKline case to display the

the biggest health care fraud settlement in U.S. history for introducing and encouraging

Biblical Historians Learn More And More About The Ancient...
As historians learn more and more about the ancient world, biblical scholars are required to look
at their text and fit it into a historical framework. No longer is it a respectable practice to take
what is written in the ancient script and assume that daily life functions exactly as it is spoken of
in the text. Scholars are now questioning a variety of different aspects in this Jewish work.
Thankfully, as the field of archaeology becomes more and more a source of information, biblical
scholars can use it to place biblical history into its correct framework. Although this paper has the
potential to interact with a variety of tels to demonstrate the necessity of archaeology in
understanding daily life, will not. Instead, it shall focus on Tel Halif as an important excavation

about 400 nuclear power plants around the world and more than 100 nuclear power plants in

This energy was compared with hundreds of pounds of TNT and this explosion blew the top of

plant was very poorly designed and its reactor operated in improper way (Howstuffworks). This
is kind of technological disaster that several things went wrong such as systems fail, humans err,
designs prove faulty, and engines misfire (Erikson 2). As a result of this accident, 31 people died
from radiation, 200 people had hospitalized and 135,000 people were evacuated from 30

estimated that of the people who lived around Chernobyl nuclear power plants in the next 70

The Pack Internship Grant Program
The Pack Internship Grant Program was founded to expand access to high quality internships for
Nevada undergrads in all majors. How will you personally benefit from an opportunity to complete
a paid, local internship?
Currently, I am a sophomore studying Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the University
of Nevada, Reno. As a college student, one of the most important aspect of my education career is
to gain different kind of experiences from opportunities that are offer at the university. Personally, I
believe that completing a paid, local internship can give students, such as myself, the chance to
gain valuable work experience and build networks and connections, while applying knowledge and
skills in real life settings. Every type of experiences that exist, such as internships, offer me the
chance to enhance my strengths, understand the world around me, and to push myself in
continuing to develop as an individual to become successful in life. For example, I was selected as
an art intern for the Summer Business Institute Program in Summer 2014. Throughout the eight
weeks of exploring to arts, I had an opportunity to work with a team of artists to create a mural
and an art piece for two local community centers in Las Vegas as well as organizing a civil
engagement project for a neighborhood that have families who are in need of financial aid. As a
result, we were thanked by the families to sponsor an event for their children to enjoy art for a day.

Although each classification of natural disaster is capable of creating catastrophic destruction, I
feel that the destruction resulting from the accumulated factors that are responsible for Tsunamis
have a potential destructive force far greater than other singular forces of nature on their own;
Furthermore, due to the densely populated urbanized regions in high risk zones the potential impact
on humans form Tsunamis is elevated in comparison with other phenomena s which may occur
with little impact on human society. Therefore a natural event that may be of similar magnitude
may occur without impacting our society and will in turn only be viewed as a geological event,
whereas a Tsunami, based on probability will almost always escalate into... Show more content on

Despite the destructive force of the original earthquake, a massive tidal surge will follow sometimes
only minutes after the initial shockwave with an even greater destructive force.
Atlantic Costal cities such as New York may not suffer from Tsunamis caused by mega thrusts
along submissive faults, Atlantic cities are still at risk of Tsunamis in some form. In 1929 a
Tsunami hit the coast of Newfoundland Canada which was caused by a massive underwater
landslide on the continental shelf that caused a massive water surge. A Tsunami of this nature could
still affect regions such as New York City and other large cities along the Atlantic.
The biggest risk of Tsunamis is along the Pacific cost lines, Oceania and the Indian Ocean regions.
Seismic activity in the South Pacific, Oceania and Indian regions in particular can strike with
devastating force is some of the worlds most densely populated regions. The destructive force,
compounded by issues relating to construction standards of many of these nations which are still

December 26th 2004 which killed a confirmed 184,167 people and displaced 1,690,000 others.

The Film More Than A Month
In the film More Than a Month by filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghman, Tilghman argues that we
should end Black History Month for once and for all. In this film he attempts to demonstrate the
truth about BHM and examine what might happen if BHM no longer existed. Tilghman argues
that Black History is American History , and he believes that the only solution to this problem is to
end BHM and incorporate it all year around. So the question is: should we end Black History Month
? This is an extremely controversial question which has been asked all over the world for many
years. Everyone has their own opinion and beliefs about whether to end BHM or not, but there isn t
a correct answer.
As decades have passed there have been many issues that involve BHM. For example, BHM no
longer has the same meaning that Carter G. Woodson intended for it when he created it in 1926. He
instituted Negro Week primarily for the benefit of black Americans who were unaware of their
contributions to American History. Woodson wanted to educate blacks and white Americans about
black Americans and their accomplishments. Woodson believed that Negro History week would
give a better appreciation to black Americans and their African ancestors. Unlike today where many
people believe that BHM has became an ethnocentric and a cultural separation observance.
Many individuals believe that BHM is beneficial to American society because it gives people the
opportunity to be educated about the rich culture and

The Similarities Between Lucius And The Tale Of Cupid And...
Many historical and mythological accounts of Graeco Roman history in the classical period,
involved tales of magic, worship of the gods, and emphasised the value society placed on devotion
to religion. These societal beliefs and practices became evident in the literature of Greek and Roman
societies, where its use, reach, and consequences was illustrated. In the only surviving Roman novel
of the 2nd century AD, ApuleiusMetamorphoses, readers encounter a Greek nobleman, named
Lucius, whose insatiable curiosity leads him to explore magic. His over enthusiasm to intimately
experience and learn about magic, accidentally causes his transformation into an ass, causing him to
be subjected to a range of vulgar, exploitive, and lustful debaucheries on his path to become human
again.
This essay will explore how Lucius s insatiable curiosity and thirst for forbidden knowledge causes
him to become a victim of magic, and how religion delivers him from its dangerous realms. Finally,
this essay will comment on the contested approaches to interpreting the final book of the novel.
In Books I X of the novel, Lucius, the protagonist, is revealed to have an incredible curiosity of
forbidden knowledge, and that adds to his determinism to experience magic himself. It is important

BMW s aircraft engine plant was then forced to close, being that their only product at the time
was the IIIa aero engine ( History of BMW , 2015). Upper management quickly began seeking
other alternatives which resulted in them obtaining a license with a very successful Berlin
based company called Knorr Bremse AG. This partnership was pursued in effort to begin
manufacturing brake systems as a response to survive the cessation of aircraft engine
production. The contract was over a ten year span and was intended to provide BMW with
employment and profit until 1930 ( History of BMW , 2015). This directional shift resulted in
great advantage for BMW as manufacturing power was allocated to BMW from Knorr Bremse
AG because they could not handle the demand they were receiving for manufacturing in their own
factories. This allowed BMW to be accessible for governmental bodies to pursue contracted
agreements. Bavarian trains were then fit and prepared for Knorr brakes in which the Bavarian
government contracted with BMW permitting them to be the official Knorr brake producers of
Bavaria because BMW was located in the homeland ( History of BMW , 2015). Furthermore, these
conditions caused the company to pursue greater avenues which lead to the manufacturing of
motorcycle engines. In 1921 BMW created the first motorized bicycle

The truth about Maddox is he can be a part of the scientific research the division of Starfleet with

issues such as: does data have a soul?, I don t know that he has, I don t know that I have. I do
believe we have a commitment to really give data a change in this matter. Just because these

Childhood Is Seen As A Horror Experience
Childhood is often seen as a carefree time where children are able to grow and learn from the world
around them. Many people have fond memories of their time as a child and would do anything
to get it back. However, in Barrie s Peter Pan, childhood is seen as a horror experience. This novel
is read in stark contrast to Walt Disney s popular movie version of Peter Pan. Disney s version
shows three children on the adventure of their life. But, Barrie s Peter Pan is the exemplar of the
childhood horror experience because of the actions of the characters of Mr. and Mrs. Darling, the
actions of the character Captain James Hook, and the dangers inherent of being a child in this
anarchistic place called Neverland. With a name like Darling one may assume that the holder of
that name would be an inherently good person. However, this is not the case with the characters
of Mr. and Mrs. Darling in Barrie s Peter Pan. The behavior of these two characters toward their
own children allows the true childhood horror experience to be shown. For example, when
Wendy Darling was born, Mr. Darling s first action as a father was to calculate whether or not he
and his wife could afford to keep their infant daughter. With his wife still in bed, Mr. Darling . . .
sat on the edge of Mrs. Darling s bed, holding her hand and calculating expenses, while she looked
at him imploringly (Barrie 8). This action from Mr. Darling expressed the horrible truth that he
valued any wealth that he and his wife

Helium Gas Lab
The mechanism that allows us to compute temperature values for pressure readings associated
with a Helium filled glass bulb is based on how system properties are linked together. The purpose
of using Helium gas is because Helium can remain in its gas state when surrounded by boiling
liquid Nitrogen. The goal is to determine the temperatureof a gasbased on the pressurereadings of
that gas, so in order to determine a working equation, the ideal gas law will be modified to
represent temperature.
T = P(V/nR) (1) There is a problem with using this equation due to the fact that we are not using
an ideal gas. We are using Helium, so adjustments must be made to the ideal gas law in order for
proper calculations to be computed. A route to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This issue can be fixed by introducing the coefficient of linear thermal expansion of the glass bulb.
In addition to the coefficient, we will multiply that value by three in order to satisfy the coefficient
of volume expansion. A constant temperature will be assumed, so we will multiply the coefficient
of volume expansion by t.
(pVo/RT)(1+(pv/prV)+3О±t) = n. This equation still embraces how ideal gases interact within
different temperatures, so the second virial coefficient is introduced. The second virial coefficient
alters the equation by representing the imperfections associated with non ideal gases. The second
virial coefficient is also multiplied by (po/RTo) in order to relate the pressures of different
environments to the pressure of the bulb submerged in an ice bath.
(pVo/RT)(1+(pv/prV)+3О±t (po/RTo)(B)) = n

Gateways To Art Analysis
The figure 1.120 on page 123 of Gateways to Art depicts a 3 dimensional piece of art called
Monogram. Inside the work includes mixed media with taxidermy goat, rubber tire, and a tennis
ball. The work was done by Robert Rauschenberg from Sweden. There is strong emphasis on the
goat, making it the focal point of the mass. The installation of the tire is wrapped around the
goat s torso, while the goat is mounted onto the center of the wood frame. The size of the work
is monumental compared to other works of art. The subordination of the painted half of the
work prevents the viewer from looking at the plain pieces of wood. The span of the mount
stretches diagonally across the frame. The addition of red paint brings a sense of luminosity to
the work. There are illuminated letters printed of the wood pieces that draws attention to the left
half of the piece. The text says Rauschenberg created the work as a symbol of himself as a rebel
and outcast. The goat relates to a religious perspective as goats used to be offered as a sacrifice by
Christians to God. This work was so odd at the time because it was not a sculpture or painting,
making it unique in its own way. The figure 1.81... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

not require the same volume. The overall texture was different because of the material used.

  • 2. AMH 2097 Paper 2 The White Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASPs) have been at the top of the social hierarchy ever since they arrived to America in the 1600s. The first wave of immigration consisted of the Germans, Irish and Chinese. The WASPs created a way to measure the success of each immigrant group. They acknowledged four factors of success that would show them whether an immigrant group was successful or not. The first factor of success was how much money an immigrant had when they came to America. The more money they came to America with, the more successful they were. Another factor of an immigrant s success was how large the group they came with was. The larger the group, the less respect and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through their settlement, they proved to the WASPs that they were capable of functioning in society without disturbing the WASPs at all. The WASPs also respected the Germans because the Germans were Protestant. The Germans also proved that they were extremely hardworking. They created many businesses, some of which still exist today. The Germans also brought over foods such as hot dogs, apple pie, and pretzels. Furthermore, the Germans came in quite small numbers, which the WASPs definitely appreciated. The Germans did not have to assimilate and live on their own, without the WASPs having to take care of them. Finally, the Germans were relatively welcomed when they arrived to America. The only stereotype given to them was a positive one, claiming that they were the model immigrants that every other immigrant group should aspire to be like. All in all, the six million Germans who came to the United States during the first wave were well liked by the WASPs and had a successful and smooth immigration into America. Arguably the least successful immigrant group that arrived to America was the Irish. When the Irish landed in the United States, the WASPs immediately disliked them. First off, the Irish came over with barely any money, which indicated to the WASPs that they were unsuccessful and unintelligent. The Irish came over to America in tightly packed ships called coffin ships. They were called coffin ships because 1/5 of the Irish died on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But let s not start there, lets go back a little. It was my fourth year at Michigan Tech s Summer Youth Programs. This year I chose to take Medical Physiology. I wonder when I m getting my degree, I comically thought to myself with a snicker. Medical Physiology was delightfully fun actually, learning about the different bones in our body and different systems. Although it was mostly a result of all the dissections we were doing. I determined that the most useful of these tests in determining the mineral was roasting because it provides a fairly accurate percent composition of copper in the unknown mineral. Results: The purpose of performing the variety of tests that we did was to give more accurate results of what the unknown mineral was. By roasting the copper mineral, we obtained copper(II) oxide. This new sample came out of the crucible grayish black. It was very brittle and full of cracks. This provided the percent composition that was necessary in finding the unknown mineral. Centers For Disease Control And Prevention Situs Inversus According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there are approximately three million babies born in the United States each year (Martin et al.). While there is always risk that a baby could have any number of health conditions, one rarely occurring condition is situs inversus. Situs refers to the position of an organ, with situs solitus being the ordinary arrangement of organs (Dictionary). Situs inversus is when the organs in the chest and abdomen are mirrored, or opposite, of where their ordinary location should be. This is a unique genetic condition that affects 1 in 10,000 babies born each year ( 15 Incredible Situs Inversus Statistics ). While situs inversus is the general term used, there are three subtypes of the condition that can occur: dextrocardia, levocardia and ambiguous. The two main subtypes of situs inversus are dextrocardia and levocardia, with the third subtype being situs ambiguous. The differences between the two main subtypes are based on the position of the heart. If the heart is still on the left side yet the rest of the organs are flipped, it is considered situs inversus with levocardia. However, if the heart is on the right side instead of the left, along with the rest of the organs being flipped, it is considered situs inversus with dextrocardia, also known as situs inversus totalis, or a true mirror image . Of the two, levocardia is the most rare, with an occurrence rate of only 1 in 22,000 births ( 15 Incredible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Summary Of Italo CalvinoThe Adventure Of A Skier As time passes, the world moves in a faster pace than ever, creating more chaos and instability than ever for the individual. Everything, from sports to academics to achievements became a race, and people start to lose themselves and their identities in this competitive world. Society is now run by technology, where everything connects to each other. This new lifestyle can hinder people from stepping out of society s bubble to have true self discovery. In this fast paced world, people are stripped from the opportunity to step back and live a simplistic lifestyle, and are usually condemned by many. Only recently, individuals have discovered this missing piece of inner peace within themselves and activities such as yoga and fasting drastically increased, especially within the millennial population. Also, terms about serenity from different religions such as yin yang, Om, and Atman have popularized into a modern day fads and fashions. In his short story, The Adventure of a Skier, Italo Calvinouses simplistic, repetitive diction to create a methodical tone that ultimately suggests that isolation and self determination can help one find inner tranquility in this world of chaos. The modern day lifestyle has a sense of hastiness of it that bears a burden to the people. Calvino uses the contrasting ideas of heaviness and hastens to lightness. In the beginning of this narrative, Calvino describes the disorder and impetuosity of something as simple as standing in a line. That flurry of small disjointed gestures coursed through the line and became frenzied at the front, gives the largest importance to the smallest details to increase the disorder of this scene (Calvino, 1). The narrator uses words such as flurry, disjointed, and frenzied to emphasize on the feeling of disarray (Calvino, 1). The simplistic diction ironically amplifies the chaos. From the beginning to the end of this short story, the leading character is referred as sky blue girl, without any other identity (Calvino, 1). She is always described to be graceful in a condensed way. All her movements were as simple as possible and perfectly suited to her person; she never exaggerated by a centimeter, never showed a hint of agitation or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Capital Punishment, or the death penalty, is the process by which an individual is put to death by the state for a capital offense, whereas life without parole is when a capital offender is sentenced to a life behind bars with no opportunity for freedom. The choice to adopt or abolish capital punishmentis up to each state, and it is the state s verdict to determine if capital punishment is unjust or not. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The FBI has found that states that enforce the death penalty have a higher murder rate than those who have abolished it. I believe we should increase the number of police officers, reduce drug abuse, and improve our economy so that it has more jobs to lower the rate of crime in our nation, not kill people who want to be killed (Hugo). On occasion, the judicial system is found of unlawfully accusing innocent victims to life without parole and have sent them to Death Row. Studies have shown that since 1992, fifteen inmates on Death Row have been set free for being proven innocent. Such a high number indicates a high possibility that more inmates may be exonerated in the future for crimes they did not commit. No person should be put to death in that manner, I would rather them be forced to suffer an eternity in a minute, confined cell with nothing than for them to be put down. DNA advances are being made to allow scientists and law enforcement officers to better determine the responsible party for each case, and so those wrongly accused may get a reprieve from their sentence to be set free (Crime Library). Citizenship, Religion and Society Policy of the United Kingdom Introduction Religion affects the way in which one of the majority of the world s population structures people live. Many mainstream institutional religions have experienced declining membership, retains power to influence systems of ethnics and morality. Also, religion has a strong connection with integration and migration. Therefore, Europe differs considerably in their responses toward integration and migration related diversity (Simpson, 235). This is reflected for instance in the time duration with which immigrants can apply for and receive permanent residence and citizenship status. Currently, Switzerland (12 years), Greece and Austria (10 years) are the most difficult countries to obtain citizenship whereas Ireland, the Netherlands and France (five years) have relatively fewer barriers (Lebrun, pg. 144). In England, the Borders, Citizenship and Immigration Act of 2009 requires a residential status of eight years before being eligible for naturalization. It also introduced a voluntary community service for migrants that can reduce the length of the naturalization process by up to two years (Faas, 143). I ve been to other plays set in a similar time period and sometimes the rococo fashion and scenery can easily make everything look tacky and gaudy but thankfully this wasn t the case. One thing that stood out to me the most was the square pattern on the floor that looked like a chessboard. Thus, Domino model is suitable for relatively simple system where unsafe work behaviours and hazards are the main focus. This model was also successful in limiting relatively simple type of incidents. The result of the research around human behaviour in an organisational context reveals that 88% of accidents are due to unsafe work behaviours. However, this result emphasise that strategic program should include data gathered from other field, such as industrial and organisational behaviour for promoting safety culture within the system. In addition, as there is only a single triggering factor that leads to an accident, it is rather more straightforward to control and prevent the cause or impose recommendation (Health and Safety Professional Alliance,2012). Disadvantages The major downside with Domino model is falling into two main groups 1 there is a single cause that trigger the incident and 2 there is always sequence in subsequent events that lead to an accident. In real fact, majority of complex accidents always have multiple contributing factors. The accident is more complex than single, individual error and we need to consider accident in relation to management and organisation entirely. Montara Commission of inquiry is an example of such complex accident. Repetition, personification and imagery is used to help the reader understand the life of an egg, and make more appealing. Winter uses repetition to describe and exaggerate the lives of eggs. She uses the words cold and dark to explain how the eggs have a cold and boring life. Winter uses this so the reader could compare it to a time they felt the same way. In the cold,/ in the dark,/ new spaces hollow (35 37). Everytime the eggs see light they get startled, then their friends get taken by a mysterious hand. New spaces hollow (). Once the eggs are taken, new spaces are open now. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nuclear Power Plants and Safety Nuclear Power Plants and Safety Since the humans use energy sources such as wood, coal, and oil to produce electricity, people want to use better energy sources to produce electricity more. By the mid twentieth century, scientists found the method of making incredible energy by using uranium as nuclear fission. Today there are about 400 nuclear power plants around the world and more than 100 nuclear power plants in United States (Howstuffworks). In addition, nuclear reactors produced a lot of energy and they affected quality life styles by using nuclear energy (Howstuffworks). How will you personally benefit from an opportunity to complete a paid, local internship? Currently, I am a sophomore studying Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Nevada, Reno. As a college student, one of the most important aspect of my education career is to gain different kind of experiences from opportunities that are offer at the university. Personally, I believe that completing a paid, local internship can give students, such as myself, the chance to gain valuable work experience and build networks and connections, while applying knowledge and skills in real life settings. Every type of experiences that exist, such as internships, offer me the chance to enhance my strengths, understand the world around me, and to push myself in continuing to develop as an individual to become successful in life. For example, I was selected as an art intern for the Summer Business Institute Program in Summer 2014. Throughout the eight weeks of exploring to arts, I had an opportunity to work with a team of artists to create a mural and an art piece for two local community centers in Las Vegas as well as organizing a civil engagement project for a neighborhood that have families who are in need of financial aid. In this film he attempts to demonstrate the truth about BHM and examine what might happen if BHM no longer existed. Tilghman argues that Black History is American History , and he believes that the only solution to this problem is to end BHM and incorporate it all year around. So the question is: should we end Black History Month ? This is an extremely controversial question which has been asked all over the world for many years. Everyone has their own opinion and beliefs about whether to end BHM or not, but there isn t a correct answer. As decades have passed there have been many issues that involve BHM. For example, BHM no longer has the same meaning that Carter G. Woodson intended for it when he created it in 1926. He instituted Negro Week primarily for the benefit of black Americans who were unaware of their contributions to American History. Woodson wanted to educate blacks and white Americans about black Americans and their accomplishments. Woodson believed that Negro History week would give a better appreciation to black Americans and their African ancestors. Many historical and mythological accounts of Graeco Roman history in the classical period, involved tales of magic, worship of the gods, and emphasised the value society placed on devotion to religion. These societal beliefs and practices became evident in the literature of Greek and Roman societies, where its use, reach, and consequences was illustrated. In the only surviving Roman novel of the 2nd century AD, ApuleiusMetamorphoses, readers encounter a Greek nobleman, named Lucius, whose insatiable curiosity leads him to explore magic. His over enthusiasm to intimately experience and learn about magic, accidentally causes his transformation into an ass, causing him to be subjected to a range of vulgar, exploitive, and lustful debaucheries on his path to become human again. This essay will explore how Lucius s insatiable curiosity and thirst for forbidden knowledge causes him to become a victim of magic, and how religion delivers him from its dangerous realms. • 49. Childhood Is Seen As A Horror Experience Childhood is often seen as a carefree time where children are able to grow and learn from the world around them. Many people have fond memories of their time as a child and would do anything to get it back. However, in Barrie s Peter Pan, childhood is seen as a horror experience. This novel is read in stark contrast to Walt Disney s popular movie version of Peter Pan. Disney s version shows three children on the adventure of their life. But, Barrie s Peter Pan is the exemplar of the childhood horror experience because of the actions of the characters of Mr. and Mrs. Darling, the actions of the character Captain James Hook, and the dangers inherent of being a child in this anarchistic place called Neverland. With a name like Darling one may assume that the holder of that name would be an inherently good person. However, this is not the case with the characters of Mr. and Mrs. Darling in Barrie s Peter Pan. The behavior of these two characters toward their own children allows the true childhood horror experience to be shown. For example, when Wendy Darling was born, Mr. Darling s first action as a father was to calculate whether or not he and his wife could afford to keep their infant daughter. With his wife still in bed, Mr. Darling . . . sat on the edge of Mrs. Darling s bed, holding her hand and calculating expenses, while she looked at him imploringly (Barrie 8). Helium Gas Lab The mechanism that allows us to compute temperature values for pressure readings associated with a Helium filled glass bulb is based on how system properties are linked together. The purpose of using Helium gas is because Helium can remain in its gas state when surrounded by boiling liquid Nitrogen. The goal is to determine the temperatureof a gasbased on the pressurereadings of that gas, so in order to determine a working equation, the ideal gas law will be modified to represent temperature. T = P(V/nR) (1) There is a problem with using this equation due to the fact that we are not using an ideal gas. We are using Helium, so adjustments must be made to the ideal gas law in order for proper calculations to be computed. A route to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This equation still embraces how ideal gases interact within different temperatures, so the second virial coefficient is introduced. The second virial coefficient alters the equation by representing the imperfections associated with non ideal gases. Inside the work includes mixed media with taxidermy goat, rubber tire, and a tennis ball. The work was done by Robert Rauschenberg from Sweden. There is strong emphasis on the goat, making it the focal point of the mass. The installation of the tire is wrapped around the goat s torso, while the goat is mounted onto the center of the wood frame. The size of the work is monumental compared to other works of art. The subordination of the painted half of the work prevents the viewer from looking at the plain pieces of wood. The span of the mount stretches diagonally across the frame. The addition of red paint brings a sense of luminosity to the work. There are illuminated letters printed of the wood pieces that draws attention to the left half of the piece. The text says Rauschenberg created the work as a symbol of himself as a rebel and outcast. The goat relates to a religious perspective as goats used to be offered as a sacrifice by Christians to God.
