This weekly engineering presentation discusses improvements to AMADA's laser cutting process and theta clamp storage. It addresses issues with burrs in laser cutting by troubleshooting nozzle and lens problems. It improves the laser cutting program and pattern to eliminate microjoints and reduce part damage. Laser cutting parameters were optimized. The theta clamp storage method was updated to insert parts between paper layers for protection. The forming tool was modified to better secure parts and prevent defects. Samples were checked with good results showing improvements addressed past issues.

3. AMADA Toubleshooting Methods for burr
issue
1. Check the nozzle for the tip
breakage and hole deformation
2. Check the lens for dirt
3. Centering nozzle.
4. Check the protection window for
dirt.
5. Calibration Z-axis tracking sensor
5. Program and linear pattern
• BEFORE
Before cutting part on the sheet,
cut the sheet into smaller pieces
with lasercut as shown in Figure1.

• AFTER
sheet 1219mm x 2038mm just
change the processing sequence.so
that the material has a low risk of
being damaged show in Figure2.
6. -Previous programming had high
chance of dented at the side of
the part as circle in figure below
when take out the part form the
sheet
Dented
-Current programming eliminate the
microjoint and the will automatically
drop off after complete cutting. No
need to take out one by one on
sheet

Procedure
1. After part being removed from
sheet , insert wire into the hole on
theta clamp as shown in Figure 2
Figure 2
9. 2. Cut paper into suitable size that
can cover entire theta clamp size,
the make a hole into the paper as
shown in Figure 3.
Figure 3
3. Then insert the paper into the
wire. The paper will act as layer to
prevent part from touching each other
as shown in Figure 4.

4. Repeat step 1 until 3 for the next part
10. Forming tool
• Forming tool need to be modify,
the area highlighted as shown in
Figure 5 need to heightened a bit
to lock the part to stay stationary
to prevent part from misplaced
and will lead to the defect as
shown in Figure 6.
