creates undo stress for the student in his or her studies. This report will show some of
the unnecessary adjustments that accompany, using the older edition. This report
will consider other community colleges, and how they, as a general practice, handle
assigning textbooks. As a supporting argument to the research, the report will
consider the market value of the book. The report concludes with recommendations,

Administration Organization CJC.215.0008. This semester, the latest edition was not
used. The biggest problem with getting the wrong book is; the time involved in
finding the correct material.
Another problem is during exams; the information can become confusing, making it

Romantic composition Swan by Saint Saens. One way by trying to make this piece

There are three jobs at the Old Tyme Bracket and Hanger factory that need to be
redesigned for the company s and employees benefit. These three jobs have been
identified as being the worst jobs in the company due to the routine and
monotonous characteristics of these job tasks. Even though these jobs are quite
simple, there are a high amount of errors being made due to the high levels of
boredom and the lack of responsibility associated with these tasks. According to Old

During the time from 1800 1900 America had gone through a series of some tough
growing pains. It was recovering from its first war with Britain and would not be
its last battle, for this newly formed country. The over whelming onslaught of war
was just the start of this small country s birth. Within the 1800 s there were 35 wars
in America s history and it was needing to prove its worth by each one. You will see
reasons why a young country had to fight to save itself, what effects these battles had
on America, and the battles that scared America the worst.
America was a young country that had just beaten the British nation, that same power
that gave them the opportunity to become America. Recovering from its wounds with
the mother land, America had to tighten the reigns as the battles with other nations

Although Mount Vernon, Ohio is a small city, it contains a very caring and proactive
community of people who want to help those in need. This attribute of the citizens of
Mount Vernon can be clearly seen in the great number of services and shelters
available to people in crisis situations. One of the services offered is the Winter
Sanctuary, an emergency homeless shelterin Mount Vernon that provides the
homeless with a place to stay during the frigid winter months. I spent two hours
visiting this shelter along with one of my classmates, Faith Aleshire. We were able to
speak with three homeless women at the shelter, and we learned a bit about their life

The harsh lifestyle that these women endured could be seen on each of the women
s faces, which looked worn and calloused from the cold. The women were wearing
clothes that were clearly from a second hand store, and they were wearing several
layers of soft fabrics.
The shelter provided several services to help these women get back on their feet.
About fifteen beds, complete with bedding and warm blankets, were placed about
the room. A space heater was located in a corner next to a television set. A
bathroom and showers were provided, as well as laundry facilities. One of the
objects in the room that surprised me with its usefulness was a computer. All three
of the women at the shelter were unemployed. During our visit with them, one of
the ladies was working on filling out job applications on a computer provided by
the shelter. They told each other about various job openings that they had come
across earlier in the day. They even mentioned that they would like to apply for
employment at the new Mount Vernon Grand Hotel. Obtaining a job is the first
step to getting back on their feet. I realized that the shelter was very wise in
providing a computer for the residents to use for this purpose. During our visit, two

The Villa Rotonda is a famous architecture designed by Palladio. Many people who
make great achievements in architecture, Howard Burns, Francis Ching et al.,
Andrea Palladio and Rudolf Wittkower, have all written some words in their books
about it. They describe some same characteristics but for different purpose.
Symmetrical structure is the most obvious feature of the Villa Rotonda, and all
four experts works involve it. Burns, professor in architectural history, look at this
villa on a macroscopic level, and he ascribes its symmetry to the influence by
Alberti, Raphael and Giulio. As a forerunner in villa design, Alberti puts forward
an idea, in De re aedificatoria, that a villa should have a central court or hall, and
pedimented portico. All these elements can be found in the Villa Rotonda. Raphael
s the Villa Madama becomes a reference when Palladio begins his design.
Wittkower, an art historian specializing in Italian Renaissance and Baroque art and
architecture , describe Palladio s works as his experiments. He says that Renaissance
architects always regarded symmetry as a theoretical requirement in design .
Wittkower also mentions that Palladio has already taken lots of studies on the basic
geometric pattern of villa before he designs the Villa Rotonda. The architecture and

Senior executives at a large, low cost manufacturer of appliances and white goods
were concerned about the sluggish performance of the company s household fan
business. It had long been among the top leading players in the company s home
country an emerging market but was now losing domestic share in two important, and
fiercely competitive, product categories.
The company s leaders suspected that a stagnant product portfolio was partly to
blame; they had been focusing a considerable amount of attention on operations and

Yet the teardown showed that as compared with competitors, the company was
overbuilding its products significantly and that identical or even better product
performance was possible at a lower cost if the team was willing to rethink its design
approaches.
Some of the resulting design changes were quite straightforward and even, in
retrospect, obvious. Yet the team acknowledged that the new ideas didn t click until
the teardown, when the evidence was spread out on the table for discussion. By
modifying the cover of one type of household fan, for example, the team made it
unnecessary to include an internal bracket assembly that had supported the original
cover a savings of 7 percent per unit. This change, like most cost saving opportunities
the team identified, was invisible to customers and didn t matter to them (for an
example of one model, see diagram).
Many of the individual cost saving opportunities the team identified were small. But
the collective impact was huge helping the company to reduce the total cost of
manufacturing its fans by more than 10 percent, against a cost base that was already
quite competitive. Meanwhile, consumers received the new designs well, and that
contributed to a 50 percent jump in operating profit in the first year of their
introduction and helped elevate the company to the number two spot in the market
(up from number three) over that time span.

The United States Congress is made up of two chambers the House of
Representatives and the Senate. All together there are 485 congress people that
come together to alter current laws or suggest new legislation. They are required
to meet once per year on January 3 by the US Constitution, but they come together

works. While two sides debate back and forth on what the founding fathers would
have wanted, an environment is created where only the best laws are allowed to
