ENGAGE aims to help students analyze emerging issues in science and technology and develop informed opinions through innovative curriculum materials and teacher professional development. The materials include 60 dilemmas, 20 problem-solving sequences, and 10 open-ended scenarios that teach students skills like critiquing claims, examining consequences, and justifying opinions. Teachers can access workshops, online courses, and a community for support in using socio-scientific issues and the ENGAGE resources to make science learning more authentic. The goal is to equip students to evaluate science and its impacts on society.
