to make much more efficient use of energy. R&D that helps

Tamil Nadu is one of the most industrialised states in India and accounted for 9.47% of India’s GDP in FY 2020-21. CBAM includes the introduction of a carbon price on certain products imported into the European Union (EU). This will put restrictions at the borders of the EU on goods produced with carbon and Greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). As per an assessment of the World Bank, many countries are considering setting a carbon price in the years to come. Tamil Nadu could be exporting its finished goods to a few of those countries in the future. For the exported goods from Tamil Nadu to be regulation-proof, it is important to decarbonise the production. The first step towards decarbonisation is the electrification of the processes in the industries. This briefing note explores the potential for the electrification of some of the processes in the top-performing (in terms of contribution to the State’s GDP) industrial sectors of Tamil Nadu.

IRJET- Dynamic Analysis of Bumper Beam
This document summarizes research on analyzing the dynamic performance of bumper beams through finite element analysis. It begins with an introduction to the importance of bumper beams in absorbing impact energy during collisions. The researchers then describe their CAD model and analysis of a Toyota Innova bumper beam made of aluminum, magnesium, and carbon fiber both with and without an epoxy resin coating. Their results found that the magnesium bumper beam experienced the lowest stress levels, and that adding an epoxy resin coating further reduced stress and deformation for both the magnesium and steel models. They conclude that a magnesium bumper beam with epoxy resin coating provides the most satisfactory performance for absorbing impact energy during collisions.

This document summarizes research on the effect of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) on emissions from a non-road diesel engine. A DOC was placed in the exhaust of a 75HP turbocharged diesel engine. Testing found that the DOC significantly reduced carbon monoxide emissions by 99.7% and hydrocarbon emissions by 90.4%. Particulate matter emissions were reduced by 14.3% with the DOC. The DOC effectively oxidized CO, unburned hydrocarbons, and particulate matter in the exhaust to lower harmful emissions.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

- 1. News Briefs Nov 4: Chandan Roy Director (Operations), NTPC, has been appointed as the Chairman of Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Limited (RGPPL) with effect from November 3, 2009, said an NTPC statement today. Roy, an engineer by profession, with experience of more than 38 years in the areas of project planning, conceptualization, design, engineering and operations and maintenance, held the position of Director on the Board of RGPPL, prior to the current appointment.The Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI), today, said it is organizing its first-ever US-India workshop on ‘Challenges of Incorporating New Nuclear, Fossil and Renewable Energy Projects into the Indian Power Sector’ in Washington DC, on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. The initiative will look at ground level regulatory, technical and legal realities for the private participation in the Indian power sector that are likely to be encountered with nuclear, renewable, or fossil fuel power generation projects. The workshop will consider policy and regulatory issues affecting US investment in the Indian power sector and will examine key downstream power sector issues, including land acquisition, payment security mechanisms, third party open access issues, scheduling, settlement, civil liability, decommissioning, tariff setting, centre-state conflicts on open access, fuel issues, power exchanges, public private partnerships and sanctity of contracts, in the context of the emerging Indian Power market post the Electricity Act 2003 and US policy and regulatory issues, said a IPPAI media release.Further, in a media statement, NTPC has announced that the company's energy and environment protection wing, Centre for Power Efficiency & Environmental Protection (CenPEEP), has been conferred with the ‘International Gold Star for Quality Award 2009’, in recognition of its commitment to Quality, Excellence and Leadership contributing towards India's success in the business world. In the past, as well, NTPC-CenPEEP received two international awards-- the Climate Technology Award 2002 and US Environmental Protection Award 2003. The Award was presented at the 'International Quality Convention Geneva 2009’, organised by Business Initiative Directions (BID), it added. <br />
